मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 3 - प्रभु-भोज (17)
व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन जीने से सम्बन्धित चार बातें प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई हैं। आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी इनका लौलीन होकर पालन करते थे। परिणाम स्वरूप वे आत्मिक जीवन में उन्नत, विश्वास में स्थिर और दृढ़ हुए, तथा कलीसियाएं बढ़ती गईं । इसी कारण इन चार बातों को “मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है। वर्तमान में हम इन चार में से तीसरी बात, “रोटी तोड़ना” अर्थात प्रभु भोज या प्रभु कि मेज़ में भाग लेने के बारे में सीख रहे हैं। प्रभु भोज के बाइबल के अनुसार सही स्वरूप और उचित पालन के तरीके को हम चारों सुसमाचारों में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा प्रभु भोज की स्थापना करने के वृतान्तों से सीखते हैं। कुरिन्थुस के मसीही विश्वासियों में बहुत सारी गलत बातें आ गई थीं, जिन्हें दिखाने और सुधारने के लिए पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रेरित पौलुस के द्वारा उन्हें पत्रियाँ लिखवाईं। इनमें, 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 में हमें प्रभु भोज में उचित और अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के बारे में शिक्षाएं दी गई हैं। हम इन्हीं शिक्षाओं को सात बिन्दुओं के अन्तर्गत सीखते आ रहे हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने पद 29-30 के आधार पर छठे बिन्दु, अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के कारण आने वाले दण्ड के बारे में देखने का समापन किया था। आज से हम सातवें बिन्दु, अन्तिम टिप्पणियाँ, को पद 31-34 से देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।
7. प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेना - पद 31-34 - (भाग 1)
यहाँ पर पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस के द्वारा पद 31 में बचने का मार्ग दिया है। पहले, पद 29 में अनुचित रीति से प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने से स्वतः ही दण्ड का भागी बन जाने की अनिवार्यता को बताया। फिर पद 30 में उस दण्ड के प्रति परमेश्वर के धैर्यवान होकर व्यक्ति को पश्चाताप करने, सुधर जाने का अवसर देते हुए क्रमशः बढ़ते हुए क्रम में दण्ड देने के बारे में बताया। अब यहाँ पर पद 29-30 की स्थिति से पूर्णतः बच जाने का तरीका दिया गया है - अपने आप को जाँचना। हम इस बात को 17 सितंबर के प्रभु भोज से सम्बन्धित लेख 13 में देख चुके हैं कि पद 11-28 के, तथा वचन की अन्य बातों के आधार पर, विश्वासी को अपने आप को कैसे और किन बातों के लिए जाँचना है। यह एक बार फिर हमारे सामने परमेश्वर के इस गुण को रखता है कि परमेश्वर विश्वासियों का प्रेमी पिता है। वह उन्हें दण्ड देने के अवसरों और तरीकों की तलाश में नहीं रहता है। वरन, वह हमेशा उन पर अपने प्रेम को प्रकट करने, उनकी सहायता करने, उन्हें सुधारने, उन्हें आशीषें देने के लिए अपने लिए उपयोगी बनाने के अवसर और तरीके देता रहता है।
यहाँ पर भी परमेश्वर ने यही किया है; विश्वासी का आँकलन करने को अपने हाथों में लेने और फिर उसके अनुसार प्रतिक्रिया देने के लिए बाध्य होने से पहले, परमेश्वर ने यह बात विश्वासी के ही हाथों में सौंप दी है। परमेश्वर यह नहीं चाहता है कि प्रभु भोज में भाग ले लेने के बाद, उसे विश्वासी से यह कहना पड़े कि उसने अनुचित रीति से भाग लिया है, इसलिए वह आशीष का नहीं बल्कि दण्ड का भागी है। बल्कि इस स्थिति को उठने से ही रोकने के लिए, परमेश्वर ने विश्वासी से ही कह दिया है कि भाग लेने से पहले ही वह स्वयं को जाँच ले। किन बातों के लिए और किस प्रकार जाँचना है, यह भी परमेश्वर ने बता दिया है। और प्रत्येक विश्वासी को परमेश्वर की ओर से यह भी आश्वासन है कि वह पश्चातापी मन के साथ अपने जिस भी पाप को, जिस भी बुराई या कमी को मान लेगा, उसके लिए परमेश्वर उसे क्षमा कर देगा (1 यूहन्ना 1:9)। अर्थात, उसके बाद वह विश्वासी प्रभु की मेज़ में योग्य रीति से भाग लेकर, आशीषों का भागी बन सकता है। अब, अपने लोगों की भलाई के लिए, उन्हें आशीषित करने के लिए, उन्हें ताड़ना और दण्ड में जाने से बचाने के लिए, परमेश्वर इससे अधिक और क्या कर सकता था? अपने लोगों के भले के लिए उससे जो कुछ भी हो सकता था, वह उसने पहले ही करके दे उन्हें दिया है। अपने उपाय को स्पष्ट, सीधा, सरल, और सहज बनाकर उन्हें उपलब्ध करवा दिया है, सम्बन्धित सभी निर्देश दे दिए हैं। अब केवल उसके लोगों को, उसके द्वारा दिए गए इस उपाय को स्वीकार करके उसका पालन करना ही शेष है। और यह तो प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को स्वयं ही करना पड़ेगा।
लेकिन यह करते हुए एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात का भी ध्यान रखना है। जैसा यहाँ इस पद में लिखा है, प्रत्येक को स्वयं को ही जाँचना है, किसी अन्य को नहीं। अकसर लोग औरों को जाँचते हैं और अपनी तुलना उनके साथ करते हैं। या अपनी गलतियों, अनुचित व्यवहार, पाप, कमियों के लिए बहाने बनाते हैं और किसी न किसी तरह से अपने आप को सही, अपने किए हुए को वैध, अपने व्यवहार को उचित ठहराने, तथा किसी और को अपने किए के लिए दोषी या ज़िम्मेदार ठहराने का प्रयास करते हैं। परमेश्वर यह नहीं चाहता है। हमें ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि हमारा सृष्टिकर्ता परमेश्वर हमें हम से अधिक अच्छे से जानता है। वह न केवल हमारे किए, कहे, सोचे हुए को भली-भाँति जानता है, वरन हमारे मन की अनकही बातों के पीछे के कारणों और उद्देश्यों को भी जानता है (1 इतिहास 28:9)। इसलिए किसी और के बारे में उसे कुछ भी बताने की हमें कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है; परमेश्वर उस व्यक्ति के बारे में भी सब कुछ जानता है, और हमसे अधिक जानता है। परमेश्वर ने हमें अपने आप को जाँचने और सुधारने का अवसर दिया है, न कि अपने को सही ठहराने तथा औरों को दोषी दिखाने का। यदि हम उसके दिए अवसर का सही उपयोग नहीं करेंगे, तो दुष्परिणामों को भुगतना ही पड़ेगा।
लेकिन लोगों के साथ परेशानी तो यही है कि वे परमेश्वर और उसके वचन को महत्व ही नहीं देते हैं। वे परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी उसकी शिक्षाओं और निर्देशों का नहीं, संसार के लोगों और उनकी शिक्षाओं और बातों का पालन करना चाहते हैं। लोग, विशेषकर मसीही विश्वासी यह जानते और मानते हैं कि मनुष्य गलतियाँ कर सकता है और करता रहता है। और यह भी कि शैतान मनुष्यों को बहका और भरमा कर उनसे परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता, और कई तरह की गलतियाँ करवाता रहता है। लेकिन फिर भी, बिना यह जाँचे और परखे हुए कि मनुष्यों द्वारा उन्हें जो कहा और सिखाया जा रहा है, वह परमेश्वर के वचन से संगत भी है कि नहीं, सही भी है कि नहीं, लोग परमेश्वर की नहीं, मनुष्यों की कही हुई बातों का पालन करने को अधिक महत्व देते हैं। परमेश्वर की बजाय मनुष्यों का अनुसरण करने के बाद भी, लोगों की अपेक्षा यही होती है कि परमेश्वर उनके किए को न केवल स्वीकार करे, बल्कि उसके लिए उन्हें आशीष भी दे। यदि कोई परमेश्वर के कहे को जानेगा और मानेगा ही नहीं, तो फिर उस से आशीष कैसे पाएगा?
अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे और पद 32 पर विचार करेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Things Related to Christian Living – 42
The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 3 - Breaking of Bread (17)
To live practical Christian life, four things are given in Acts 2:42. The initial Christian Believers used to steadfastly follow them. Consequently, they were edified in their spiritual lives, stood firm and strong in their faith, and the churches grew. For this reason, these four are also known as the “Pillars of Christian Living.” Presently we are considering the third of these four, i.e., “breaking of bread,” i.e., the Holy Communion, or the Lord’s Table. We learn the Biblically correct form and method of participation in the Table from the four gospel accounts, from the sections where the Lord Jesus instituted the Lord’s Table. Amongst the Christian Believers in Corinth, many wrong things had come in, and to show them their errors and the way to correct them, the Holy Spirit had the Apostle Paul write letters to them. In these, in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 we have the teachings regarding participating unworthily as well as worthily in the Lord’s Table. We have been considering these teachings under seven points, and learning about them. In the last article, we had concluded the sixth point, having seen from verses 29-30 about the punishments consequent to participating in the Holy Communion unworthily. Today we will begin considering the seventh point from verses 31-34.
7. Partaking in the Holy Communion - verses 31-34 - (Part 1)
Here, in verse 31, the Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul has given a way of escaping. We were told in verse 29 that by partaking in the Table unworthily, we automatically become guilty of certainly being punished. Then in verse 30 we were told of God being patient and longsuffering, giving people the time and opportunity to repent and correct themselves, through giving gradually worsening punishment, as a graded response. Now, here the way to totally avoid the situation of verse 29-30 has been given - examine yourself. We have seen in the article of 17th September, the 13th article related to the Holy Communion, that on the basis of what is written in verses 11-28 and at other places in God’s Word, how, and for what things a Believer has to examine himself. This once again places before us the attribute of God that for the Believers, He is a loving Father. He is not looking for chances and ways to punish them. Rather, He is always looking for ways to express His love for them, help them, correct them, and make them useful for Him to be able to bless them.
God has done the same over here; before He has to evaluate the Believer and then be constrained to act accordingly, God has handed over doing this entirely into the hands of the Believer. God does not want that after the Believer has participated in the Holy Communion, He would have to say to him that he participated unworthily, therefore, instead of blessing him, He will have to punish him. Rather to stop such a situation from even arising, God has told the Believer that he should examine himself. God has also told him how to examine and for what things. God has also assured every Believer that whatever be the wrong, the shortcoming, or the sin, if he would accept and truly repent of it, God will forgive him for it (1 John 1:9). Therefore, having done this, the Believer can participate in the Table worthily and be blessed by God. Now, for the good of His people, to bless them, to keep them safe from chastisement and being punished, what more could God do? God has already done and made available to His people all that He could do for their good. He has made His provision very clear, straightforward, easy, and convenient, and has also given them all the instructions that were required. Now, all that remains to be done is for His people to accept the provision and carry it out. And, this only the person can do for Himself.
But while doing this, there is something very important that needs to be kept in mind. As is written in this verse, everyone has to examine himself, not others. Very often people examine others and compare themselves with others. Or, for their wrongs, improper behavior, sins, shortcomings etc. they make excuses and somehow or the other try to prove themselves correct, justify whatever they may have done, show their behavior to be correct, and blame someone else and hold them responsible for whatever they themselves have done. God does not want this. We should keep in mind that our creator God knows us and about us far more and far better than we know about ourselves. He not only knows well whatever we have done, said, or thought about, but He also knows the unsaid things in our hearts and our intentions for them (1 Chronicles 28:9). Therefore, there is no need for us to say anything about anybody to God; because God already knows everything about that person too, and knows it better and more than we do. God has given us an opportunity to examine and correct ourselves, instead of trying to justify ourselves and show others to be guilty. If we will not properly utilize the opportunity He has given, then we will have to suffer the harmful consequences.
But the problem with people is that they do not give importance to God and His Word. They do not want to obey the teachings and instructions God has given in His Word; instead, they want to obey what people of the world have said and taught. People, in general, and Christian Believers in particular, well know that man can, does keep making mistakes. They also know that Satan keeps deceiving and misleading people into disobeying God and committing many kinds of mistakes. But still, without caring to examine and verify from God’s Word, whether what is being said and taught by men is consistent with what God has said, whether it is correct or not, people give more importance to following and obeying men instead of following and obeying God. Despite following and obeying men, still the people expect that God will not only accept whatever they have done, but will also bless them for it. Now, if someone does not learn and follow what God has said, then how can he be blessed by God?
In the next article we will move ahead from here and consider verse 32.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
