बाइबल और भौतिक-विज्ञान - 2 - पृथ्वी की देखभाल और हानि पहुँचाना
हम परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल और विज्ञान के सम्बन्ध को, बाइबल तथा जीव-विज्ञान विषय के अन्तर्गत पिछले कुछ लेखों से देखते चले आ रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि न तो विज्ञान बाइबल और परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध है, और न ही परमेश्वर या बाइबल, विज्ञान के विरुद्ध हैं। वास्तव में विज्ञान तो केवल परमेश्वर की सृष्टि और उसकी कार्यविधि का अध्ययन करने, उसे समझने का एक साधन मात्र है। विज्ञान केवल तथ्य बताता है, जानकारी देता है। क्योंकि विज्ञान सृष्टि की केवल जानकारी उपलब्ध करवाता है, इसलिये विज्ञान सृष्टि के सृष्टिकर्ता के विरुद्ध कुछ उजागर अथवा प्रस्तुत कर ही नहीं सकता है। विज्ञान पर एक मिथ्या आरोप है कि विज्ञान ने परमेश्वर के अस्तित्व को नकार दिया है। जिस प्रकार से किसी रची हुई वस्तु के बारे में सीख-समझ लेने से यह प्रमाणित नहीं हो जाता है कि उसका कोई रचनाकार नहीं था, उसी प्रकार से विज्ञान द्वारा सृष्टि के तथ्य प्रकट कर देने से यह प्रमाणित नहीं होता है कि कोई सृष्टिकर्ता नहीं है। बल्कि विज्ञान ने सृष्टि की अद्भुत बातों को प्रकट करने के द्वारा सृष्टिकर्ता की अद्भुत बुद्धि, सामर्थ्य, क्षमता, और कौशल के प्रमाण दिये हैं।
विज्ञान द्वारा उजागर और प्रस्तुत किये गये तथ्यों का विश्लेषण करना और उनके आधार पर निष्कर्ष और धारणाएँ बनाना, वैज्ञानिकों का कार्य है; और जैसे-जैसे नए तथ्य सामने आते चले जाते हैं, व्याख्या, धारणा, और निष्कर्ष भी बदलते चले जाते हैं - उन में सुधार हो सकता है, या वे पूर्णतः बदले भी जा सकते हैं। इसलिये विज्ञान पर आधारित कोई भी बात कभी भी स्थिर और अटल नहीं हो सकती है; सदा परिवर्तनीय ही रहती है। इस संदर्भ में विज्ञान को लेकर दो बातों का ध्यान रखना अति आवश्यक है। पहली तो यह कि वैज्ञानिक भी मनुष्य ही हैं। इसलिये, उन से अपनी व्याख्याओं और निष्कर्षों में गलतियाँ हो सकती हैं, व्याख्या करने से सम्बन्धित उनके अपने पूर्वाग्रह भी हो सकते हैं, और इसी लिये उनकी व्याख्या पक्षपाती भी हो सकती है; और यह भी एक जाना-माना तथ्य है कि कुछ वैज्ञानिकों ने अपनी ही धारणा को सही दिखाने के लिये स्वयं ही कुछ बातों को गढ़ा, और उन्हें “तथ्य” कहकर प्रस्तुत किया। इन सभी बातों को, और इन से सम्बन्धित प्रमाणों को हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं। और दूसरी बात यह कि एक बहुत आम प्रयोग किया जाने वाला कथन है “विज्ञान कहता है…; विज्ञान का दृष्टिकोण है…” आदि - किन्तु वास्तविकता यह है कि विज्ञान कभी कुछ नहीं कहता है; विज्ञान तो केवल तथ्य उजागर या प्रकट कर देता है। किन्तु उन तथ्यों के लेकर कुछ भी कहने का काम - कहा गया सही हो या गलत - हमेशा लोग - वैज्ञानिक ही करते हैं। विज्ञान को आधार बनाकर, या उसकी आड़ में, जो भी कहना होता है, उसे लोग या वैज्ञानिक ही कहते हैं; और जैसा हमने अभी देखा है, आवश्यक नहीं है कि उनकी कही हर बात हमेशा सही ही हो, या सच ही हो।
पिछले लेख से हमने बाइबल में भौतिक विज्ञान से सम्बन्धित बातों को देखना आरम्भ किया है, और सबसे पहले पानी के चक्र के बारे में देखा था। आज हम पृथ्वी और प्राणियों के प्रति परमेश्वर के दृष्टिकोण, और अन्त के समय में पृथ्वी को बर्बाद करने वालों की भविष्यवाणी के बारे में देखेंगे।
परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल हमें बताता है कि मनुष्य परमेश्वर की सर्वोत्तम रचना है, जिसे उसने अपनी अन्य सभी रचनाओं के समान बोल कर नहीं, बल्कि अपने हाथों से, अपने स्वरूप में बनाया, और उसे जीवित करने के लिये उसमें अपनी श्वास को फूँका (उत्पत्ति 1:26-28; 2:7), और उसे सारी पृथ्वी, तथा पृथ्वी के सभी प्राणियों पर अधिकार दे दिया। परमेश्वर ने प्रथम मनुष्यों - आदम और हव्वा, को अदन की वाटिका में रखा, और उन्हें उसकी देखभाल और रक्षा करने का कार्य सौंपा (उत्पत्ति 2:15)। अर्थात, अधिकार के साथ एक जिम्मेदारी भी थी - मनुष्य को उसे उपहार समान दी गई अद्भुत आशीष का दुरुपयोग नहीं करना था, वरन् उसका आदर करते हुए उसे संभाल कर रखना था, उसकी रक्षा करनी थी। मनुष्य को यह ध्यान रखना था कि पृथ्वी का स्वामी परमेश्वर है (भजन 24:1); और मनुष्य को उसका भण्डारी (steward) बनाया गया है; इसलिये पृथ्वी और उसके सभी प्राणियों के प्रति अपना हर व्यवहार और कार्य इस सीमा के अन्दर ही करे।
नूह के समय हुई विश्व-व्यापी जल प्रलय के बाद, पृथ्वी को फिर से बसाने के लिये नूह और उसके परिवार को परमेश्वर ने जो निर्देश दिये, उनमें परमेश्वर ने माँसाहार की अनुमति भी प्रदान की (उत्पत्ति 9:3); और साथ ही परमेश्वर ने न केवल मनुष्यों के साथ, बल्कि सभी जीव-जन्तुओं के साथ भी वाचा बाँधी (उत्पत्ति 9:9-10)। यदि परमेश्वर को केवल मनुष्यों ही की चिन्ता होती, तो उसे जीव-जन्तुओं से वाचा बाँधने की क्या आवश्यकता थी? साथ ही जब परमेश्वर ने नूह और उसके परिवार से वाचा के बारे में बात करते समय उनके संज्ञान में हर प्रकार के जीव जन्तुओं को भी अपनी वाचा में सम्मिलित किया, तो यह उनके लिये स्पष्ट संकेत था कि स्वामी परमेश्वर है, और उन्हें अब जो माँसाहार का भी अधिकार मिला है, उस का निर्वाह उन्हें परमेश्वर के भण्डारी (steward) के समान करना है; अपनी मन-मानी और प्राणियों के साथ कोई दुर्व्यवहार नहीं करना है।
परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल इस बारे में बहुत स्पष्ट है कि परमेश्वर जीव जन्तुओं की चिन्ता करता है (योना 4:11; मत्ती 10:29), उनका ध्यान रखता है (भजन 147:9)। बाइबल का यह तथ्य कि परमेश्वर मनुष्यों द्वारा जीव-जन्तुओं के साथ सही व्यवहार किये जाने की अपेक्षा रखता है, बाइबल के इन उदाहरणों से प्रकट है: अपनी दस आज्ञाओं में जब परमेश्वर ने सप्ताह के सातवें दिन को विश्राम का दिन ठहराया, तब वह विश्राम केवल मनुष्यों के लिये ही नहीं था; परमेश्वर ने विशेष रीति से पशुओं को भी विश्राम देने के निर्देश दिये (निर्गमन 20:10)। इसी प्रकार से निर्गमन 23:5 में परमेश्वर ने स्पष्ट निर्देश दिये कि यदि किसी पशु के साथ दुर्व्यवहार सामने आए, तो उसे सुधारा जाए, चाहे वह शत्रु का पशु ही क्यों न हो। फिर, नीतिवचन 12:10 में लिखा है कि धर्मी मनुष्य अपने पशुओं की सुधि रखता है, जबकि पशुओं के साथ दुर्व्यवहार करना दुष्टों का गुण है। परमेश्वर के दूत ने, परमेश्वर के नबी बिलाम को डाँटा, क्योंकि उसने अपनी गदही को अनुचित पीटा था (गिनती 22:27-33; पद 32-33 पर ध्यान कीजिये)। केवल पशु ही नहीं, परमेश्वर ने वृक्षों को भी ध्यान से और संभाल कर उपयोग करने के निर्देश दिये है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 20:19)।
अर्थात, कुल निष्कर्ष यही है कि मनुष्यों को इस बात का ध्यान रखना है कि वे केवल परमेश्वर के भण्डारी हैं, उन्हें अपने और सृष्टि के स्वामी परमेश्वर की इच्छा के अनुसार पृथ्वी और उसके प्राणियों के साथ व्यवहार करना है, उनकी देखभाल करनी है, उन्हें सम्भाल कर रखना है, न कि मन-मर्ज़ी करके पृथ्वी और प्राणियों को बर्बाद करना है।
अब पृथ्वी को बिगाड़ने वालों के बारे में बाइबल में लिखा हुआ देखते हैं। आज से लगभग 2000 वर्ष पूर्व, जब प्रदूषण और उसके प्रभावों के बारे में कोई जानकारी नहीं थी, तब बाइबल की अंतिम पुस्तक, प्रकाशितवाक्य, जो जगत के अंत और संसार के सभी लोगों के न्याय किए जाने की भविष्यवाणी की पुस्तक है, उसमें परमेश्वर ने प्रभु यीशु मसीह के शिष्य यूहन्ना के द्वारा, यह लिखवाया था, “और अन्यजातियों ने क्रोध किया, और तेरा प्रकोप आ पड़ा और वह समय आ पहुंचा है, कि मरे हुओं का न्याय किया जाए, और तेरे दास भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और पवित्र लोगों को और उन छोटे बड़ों को जो तेरे नाम से डरते हैं, बदला दिया जाए, और पृथ्वी के बिगाड़ने वाले नाश किए जाएं” (प्रकाशितवाक्य 11:18)। विवाद उत्पन्न करने, और तर्क देने वाले यह कह सकते हैं कि जिस “बिगाड़” की बात की गई है वह नैतिक पतन और भ्रष्टाचार भी हो सकता है। किन्तु मूल यूनानी भाषा में जो शब्द प्रयोग किया गया है, और जिसका अनुवाद “बिगाड़ना” किया गया है, वह है “डायाफ्थीरियो” जिसका शब्दार्थ होता है पूर्णतः सड़ा-गला कर नष्ट कर देना। यह वही शब्द है जिससे घातक बीमारी ‘डिफथीरिया’ का नाम आया है।
क्रमिक विकासवाद (Evolution) कहता है कि मनुष्य, पृथ्वी, और सृष्टि सुधर रहे हैं, उन्नत होते जा रहे हैं; जबकि हमारे समक्ष विदित व्यावहारिक वास्तविकता इसके बिल्कुल विपरीत, और परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल की बातों के अनुरूप है - मनुष्य, पृथ्वी और सृष्टि बिगड़ते जा रहे हैं, अपने अंतिम दिनों में पहुँच चुके हैं। सारे संसार भर में हर जाति, हर सभ्यता का मनुष्य शारीरिक, भौतिक, नैतिक, और आध्यात्मिक, हर रीति से सुधरने की बजाए बिगड़ता ही जा रहा है।
अब यह आपके लिए विचार करने और निर्णय लेने का समय है - क्या आप परमेश्वर के उस अवश्यंभावी न्याय का सामना करने, उसके सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन के हर एक पल का हिसाब देने, अपने मन, ध्यान, विचार, और व्यवहार की हर बात, हर सोच, हर कल्पना का हिसाब देने को तैयार हैं? क्योंकि परमेश्वर के दृष्टि से कुछ छिपा नहीं है, कुछ अज्ञात नहीं है, जैसा दाऊद ने अपने पुत्र सुलैमान को समझाया “और हे मेरे पुत्र सुलैमान! तू अपने पिता के परमेश्वर का ज्ञान रख, और खरे मन और प्रसन्न जीव से उसकी सेवा करता रह; क्योंकि यहोवा मन को जांचता और विचार में जो कुछ उत्पन्न होता है उसे समझता है। यदि तू उसकी खोज में रहे, तो वह तुझ को मिलेगा; परन्तु यदि तू उसको त्याग दे तो वह सदा के लिये तुझ को छोड़ देगा” (1 इतिहास 28:9); और बाद में इब्रानियों के लेखक ने भी कहा, “क्योंकि परमेश्वर का वचन जीवित, और प्रबल, और हर एक दोधारी तलवार से भी बहुत चोखा है, और जीव, और आत्मा को, और गांठ गांठ, और गूदे गूदे को अलग कर के, वार पार छेदता है; और मन की भावनाओं और विचारों को जांचता है। और सृष्टि की कोई वस्तु उस से छिपी नहीं है वरन जिस से हमें काम है, उस की आंखों के सामने सब वस्तुएं खुली और बेपरदा हैं” (इब्रानियों 4:12-13)।
परमेश्वर आपको अवसर दे रहा है; यदि आज तक भी आपने उसकी आपको दी जाने वाली पापों की क्षमा के इस अवसर को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अभी फिर आपके पास मौका है। आप अभी स्वेच्छा से, सच्चे मन से, अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी मन के साथ यह छोटी सी प्रार्थना कर सकते हैं, “हे प्रभु यीशु मैं स्वीकार करता हूँ कि मैंने मन, ध्यान, विचार, और व्यवहार में आपकी अनाज्ञाकारिता की है, पाप किया है। मैं यह भी मान लेता हूँ कि आपने क्रूस पर दिए अपने बलिदान के द्वारा मेरे पापों की सजा को अपने ऊपर उठाया लिया, और उसे पूर्णतः चुका दिया है। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और अपना आज्ञाकारी शिष्य बना लें, और अपने साथ बनाकर रखें।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी यह छोटी सी प्रार्थना आपके मन और जीवन को बदल देगी, आपको परमेश्वर की संतान बनाकर, पापों के दण्ड से मुक्ति तथा अब से लेकर अनन्तकाल तक के लिए स्वर्गीय आशीषों का वारिस बना देगी। निर्णय आपका है।

Bible and Physical Sciences - 2 - Tending and Harming the Earth
We have been examining the relationship between the Bible, the Word of God, and science, under the topic - the Bible and Bio-Sciences, over the past few articles. In those articles we have seen that neither is science opposed to the Bible and to God, nor are God or the Bible opposed to science. In reality, science is merely a means to study and understand God’s creation and the manner in which it functions. Science only presents facts and provides information. Since science only brings to light and provides information about creation, therefore, there is no way it can in any possible manner reveal or present anything against the Creator of the creation. There is a prevalent but false accusation against science, that science has disproven the existence of God. Just as learning and understanding something about a created object does not prove that it had no creator, in the same way, the revelation and learning of facts about creation, through science, does not prove that there is no Creator. Rather, by revealing the wondrous aspects of creation, science has provided evidence of the Creator’s marvelous wisdom, power, capability, and skill.
Analyzing the facts revealed and presented by science, and forming conclusions and theories based on them, is the work of scientists; and as new facts continue to come to light, the interpretations, theories, and conclusions also continue to change—the existing ones may be improved, or they may be completely discarded and replaced by new ones. Therefore, anything based on science can never be infallible and immutable; it always remains changeable. In this context, it is extremely important to always keep two things in mind regarding science. First is that scientists too are human beings. Therefore, they can make mistakes in their interpretations and conclusions; they may also have their own biases related to interpretation, and thus their interpretations can be prejudiced; and it is also a well-known fact, in the scientific community itself, that some scientists have themselves fabricated certain things in order to prove their own theories correct and have presented them as “facts” - e.g., the Piltdown Man concoction. We have already seen all these things, and the evidence related to them, in previous articles. The second point is that a very commonly used statement is, “science says…; the viewpoint of science is…” etc.—but the reality is that science itself never says anything; science only reveals or presents facts. However, the task of interpreting and analyzing those facts, saying anything on the basis of those facts—whether what is said is right or wrong—is always done by people - the scientists. Whatever is to be said on the basis of science, or by using it as a pretext, is always said by the people, i.e., the scientists themselves; and as we have just seen, it is not necessary that whatever they say will always be correct, or be the truth.
From the previous article we began to look at matters related to physical science in the Bible, and first of all we looked at the water cycle. Today we will carry forward from there, and look at God’s perspective regarding the earth, the living creatures, and man’s responsibility; and then look at the end times prophecy concerning those who will indulge in destroying the earth at that time.
The Word of God, the Bible, tells us that human beings are God’s finest creation. Unlike His other creations, which He created by speaking, He created man with His own hands, in His own image, and in order to give him life, He breathed His own breath into him (Genesis 1:26–28; 2:7). He then gave him authority over the whole earth and over all the living creatures of the earth. God placed the first humans—Adam and Eve—in the Garden of Eden, and entrusted them with the responsibility of caring for it and protecting it (Genesis 2:15). That is, along with authority there was also responsibility—human beings were not to misuse the wonderful blessing that had been given to them as a gift, but rather, while honoring it, they were to preserve it and protect it. Human beings were to keep in mind that God is the owner of the earth (Psalm 24:1), and that humans have been made its stewards; therefore, every action and behavior toward the earth and all its living creatures must remain within these boundaries.
After the worldwide flood in the days of Noah, when God gave instructions to Noah and his family for repopulating the earth, He also granted permission for eating meat (Genesis 9:3); and at the same time, God made a covenant not only with human beings, but also with all living creatures (Genesis 9:9–10). If God was concerned only about human beings, then what need would there have been for Him to make a covenant with animals? Moreover, when God spoke to Noah and his family about the covenant and included every kind of living creature within it, this was a clear indication to them that God is the owner, and that even though they had now been given the right to eat meat, they were to exercise that right as stewards of God; they were not to act according to their own will or mistreat living creatures.
The Word of God, the Bible, is very clear that God cares for animals (Jonah 4:11; Matthew 10:29) and looks after them (Psalm 147:9). The Biblical fact that God expects human beings to treat animals in a proper and appropriate manner is evident from these examples in the Bible: when God established the seventh day of the week as a day of rest in the Ten Commandments, that rest was not only for human beings; God specifically instructed that animals were also to be given rest (Exodus 20:10). Similarly, in Exodus 23:5, God gave clear instructions that if mistreatment of an animal is observed, it must be corrected, even if the animal belongs to an enemy. Further, Proverbs 12:10 states that a righteous person cares for his animals, whereas mistreating animals is a characteristic of the wicked. God’s angel rebuked the prophet Balaam because he had beaten his donkey unjustly (Numbers 22:27–33; pay attention especially to verses 32–33). Not only animals, but God also gave instructions to use trees carefully and with consideration (Deuteronomy 20:19).
Thus, the overall conclusion is that human beings must keep in mind that they are only God’s stewards. They are to deal with the earth and its living creatures according to the will of God, who is the owner of both creation and humanity. They are to care for them and preserve them, and not act according to their own desires by destroying the earth and its living creatures.
Now let's see what is written in the Bible about the “destroyers”, i.e., the corrupters and spoilers of the earth. About 2000 years ago, when there was no information about environmental pollution and its effects, in the last book of the Bible, Revelation, which is the book of the prophecy about the end of the world and the judgment of all the people of the world, under God’s guidance it was written by John, a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, "The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth” (Revelation 11:18). Those who engage in debates and arguments, may say that the "destroy" spoken of can be moral degradation and even corruption. But the word used in the original Greek and translated "destroy" is "diaphtherio" which means to destroy completely by rotting. It is the same word from which the name of the deadly disease 'Diphtheria' has come.
Evolution says that humans, the earth, and creation are improving, becoming advanced and better. Whereas the evident, practical reality before us is quite the opposite, and is in line with what God's Word the Bible says - man, the earth and creation are deteriorating; the world has reached its last days. All over the world, human beings of every race and every civilization, are only deteriorating instead of improving physically, morally, and spiritually, in every conceivable manner.
Now it's time for you to reflect and decide - are you ready and prepared to face that inevitable judgment of God? To stand before Him and give an account of every single moment of your life, of everything in your mind, attitude, thought, and behavior? For nothing is hidden from God, nothing is unknown to Him, as David explained to his son Solomon, “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever" (1 Chronicles 28:9); And later the author of Hebrews also said, "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:12-13).
God is giving you the opportunity; If till today you have not accepted this opportunity of forgiveness of your sins, that has been given to you, then you still have this opportunity available to you. You can utilize it just now by voluntarily, sincerely, with a repentant heart for your sins, saying this short prayer, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You and sinned in mind, attitude, thought, and behavior. I also believe that you have taken upon yourself the punishment for my sins by your sacrifice on the Cross, and have paid for them in full. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, make me your obedient disciple, and keep me with you." This small prayer of yours, said with a sincere and committed heart will transform your mind and life, make you a child of God, free you from the punishment of your sins, and make you an heir of heavenly blessings from now to eternity. The decision is yours.
