वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए सभी मसीही विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, उनके उद्धार पाने पल में ही, अर्थात् जब वे पापों से पश्चाताप करते हैं, प्रभु यीशु को उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करते हैं, और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित कर देते हैं, परमेश्वर के द्वारा दे दिया जाता है। उसी पल से प्रत्येक उद्धार पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी न केवल पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर बन जाता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19), वरन् उसे प्राप्त हुए पवित्र आत्मा का स्वतः ही, भण्डारी भी हो जाता है। वर्तमान में हम मसीही विश्वासी के पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी होने के बारे में अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। अभी हम प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा यूहन्ना 14:17 में, पवित्र आत्मा को ‘सत्य का आत्मा’ कहे जाने और इस बात के तात्पर्यों को देख रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि सत्य का आत्मा होने के नाते, वह कभी किसी भी ऐसी बात के साथ जो किसी भी रीति से, गलत या झूठ है, चाहे ऐसा तात्पर्य में ही हो, कभी सम्मिलित नहीं होगा। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा और समझा था कि बाइबल के अनुसार उस ‘सत्य’ का क्या अर्थ है जिसके साथ पवित्र आत्मा सम्मिलित होगा, और जिसके आगे वह कभी नहीं जाएगा – वह है परमेश्वर का वचन। हमने पिछले लेख में 2 पतरस 1:3 से यह भी देखा था कि जीवन और भक्ति से सम्बन्धित प्रत्येक बात जो मसीही विश्वासी के लिए आवश्यक है, उसे पहले ही परमेश्वर के वचन में प्रभु यीशु की पहचान के द्वारा दे दी गई है। जो परमेश्वर के वचन में दे दिया गया है, मसीही विश्वासी को उस से अधिक न तो किसी बात की आवश्यकता है, और न ही उसे परमेश्वर की ओर से दिया जाएगा।

 

इसलिए विश्वासी के जीवन और भक्ति से संबंधित ऐसी कोई भी बात जो पहले से ही वचन में लिखी हुई नहीं है, वह सत्य नहीं है, परमेश्वर से नहीं है। इसी प्रकार से, ऐसे कोई भी तात्पर्य, ऐसी कोई भी व्याख्या जो बाइबल की बातों और अभिव्यक्तियों पर बनाई गई है, किन्तु बाइबल में उस तात्पर्य या व्याख्या को कहीं पर व्यावहारिक उपयोग नहीं किया गया है, उसे उदाहरण नहीं बनाया गया है, और न ही उसे कहीं कार्यान्वित किया गया है, वह तात्पर्य और व्याख्या भी उतनी ही झूठी है। परमेश्वर समस्त समय, स्थानों, संस्कृतियों, और सभ्यताओं में शाश्वत, अपरिवर्तनीय (मलाकी 3:6; इब्रानियों 13:8), और अटल है। उसी प्रकार से परमेश्वर का वचन और निर्देश भी समस्त समय, स्थानों, संस्कृतियों, और सभ्यताओं में शाश्वत, अपरिवर्तनीय, और अटल है। क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने अपना वचन अपने सर्वज्ञानी, अन्त को आरम्भ से ही जान लेने के गुण के अन्तर्गत (यशायाह 46:10), एक ही बार, सभी के लिए, अनन्तकाल के लिये दे दिया है (भजन 119:89, 160)। आज हम पवित्र आत्मा के सत्य का आत्मा होने तथ्य के अभिप्राय और व्यवहारिक उपयोग के बारे में और आगे देखेंगे।

परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा कभी भी किसी भी असत्य – अर्थात वह जो परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में पहले से ही दिया नहीं गया है, या बाइबल की शिक्षाओं के अनुसार सही नहीं है, उस के साथ कभी भी सम्मिलित नहीं होगा। वह न तो उस बात के दिए जाने में, न ही उसे सिखाए जाने में, और न ही उसका किसी भी रीति से किसी के जीवन या सेवकाई में उपयोग किए जाने में सम्मिलित अथवा सहमत होगा। पवित्र आत्मा ही, अपनी प्रेरणा और मार्गदर्शन देने के द्वारा, परमेश्वर के वचन का मूल लेखक है। बाइबल की पुस्तक लिखने वाले प्रत्येक व्यक्ति ने यह कार्य उसे उपलब्ध करवाई गई परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य के द्वारा ही किया है (2 तीमुथियुस 3:16; 2 पतरस 2:13)। इसीलिए वह जो सत्य नहीं है, अर्थात बाइबल का तथ्य नहीं है, उसके साथ पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य और मार्गदर्शन कभी भी सम्मिलित नहीं हो सकता है, चाहे उसे प्रस्तुत करने वाला उस बात को जाने अथवा अनजाने में बाइबल की ही बात क्यों न कहे, कितनी ही तर्कसंगत, आकर्षक, और बलपूर्वक रीति से बारम्बार ही क्यों न कहे।

2 तीमुथियुस 3:16 और 2 पतरस 1:20-21 का यह कहते हैं कि वह पवित्र आत्मा था जिसने मानवीय लेखकों से सुसमाचारों में तथा बाइबल की अन्य पुस्तकों में वह लिखवाया जो आज हमारे हाथों में सदा काल के लिए उपलब्ध है। सुसमाचारों के सन्दर्भ में, उसी ने, इन मानवीय लेखकों के द्वारा प्रभु यीशु मसीह की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के समय उसने जो कहा और सिखाया उन शब्दों में से लेकर लिखवा दिए, कि हमारे लिए परमेश्वर के वचन में ‘प्रभु यीशु द्वारा कहे गए शब्द’ के रूप में उपलब्ध हों। पवित्र आत्मा का एक गुण और कार्य है कि यद्यपि वह विश्वासियों को आने वाली बातों के बारे में बताता है, लेकिन जो उसने पहले ही बाइबल की पुस्तकों में लिखवा दिया है उसमें वह अपनी ओर से कुछ अतिरिक्त कभी नहीं जोड़ता है। इसी प्रकार से, यद्यपि वह मसीही विश्वासियों को वह स्मरण करवाता है जो प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के दौरान कहा और सिखाया है, जिसे उसने वचन में लिखवा दिया है, लेकिन यह करते हुए वह कभी भी पहले से लिखित प्रभु की बातों में कुछ नहीं जोड़ता है (यूहन्ना 16:13-15)। इस तथ्य को हमेशा ही ध्यान में बनाए रखना, किसी भी गलत शिक्षा या झूठी बात, किसी अनुचित अभिप्राय या गलत व्याख्या को पहचानने और समझने के लिए, जिसे परमेश्वर से मिले प्रकाशन के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया जाता है, अत्यंत अनिवार्य है; चाहे यह दावा करने वाला विश्वासी हो या कोई अन्य।

इसीलिए हमारे पास प्रेरितों 17:11 और 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21 के निर्देश हैं, जो हम से आग्रह करते हैं – कभी किसी बात को यूं ही नहीं मान लो; कभी भी प्रचारक या शिक्षक के भक्त चरित्र, नाम, प्रसिद्धि, लोकप्रियता आदि से प्रभावित होकर उसकी हर बात को यूं ही स्वीकार मत करो। मसीही विश्वासियों को मसीही जीवन जीने के लिये हमेशा ही केवल परमेश्वर ही के वचन का उपयोग करना है। प्रत्येक बात को जाँचने, परखने, और उस बात की पुष्टि करने के लिये, किसी व्यक्ति के नहीं बल्कि परमेश्वर के वचन का प्रयोग करना है। यदि वह बात खरी प्रमाणित हो तभी उसे स्वीकार करना है, अन्यथा नहीं। यह कथन आवश्यकता से अधिक कड़ा प्रतीत हो सकता है, लेकिन हमें यह याद रखने की आवश्यकता है कि शैतान ‘ज्योतिर्मय स्वर्गदूत’ के रूप में अपने आप को प्रस्तुत करता है, और उसके सेवक झूठे प्रेरित, छल के काम करने वाले, मसीह के प्रेरितों का रूप धरने वाले, और धर्म के सेवक बनकर आते हैं कि मसीही विश्वासियों को वचन ही के द्वारा बहका और भरमा सकें (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3, 13-15)।

परमेश्वर का वचन हमें दिखाता और सिखाता है कि परमेश्वर के जाने-पहचाने लोगों ने भी ऐसी बातें कहीं और की हैं जो गलत थीं, झूठी थीं, तथा उन बातों से औरों को भी अपनी गलतियों में फँसा लिया है। इस के कुछ उदाहरण हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Holy Spirit – The Spirit of Truth – 4

 

The Holy Spirit of God is given by God to all the truly Born-Again Christian believers at the very moment of their salvation—that is, from the moment when they repent of their sins, accept the Lord Jesus as their Savior, and surrender their lives to Him. From that very moment, every saved Christian believer not only becomes a Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19), but also automatically becomes a steward of the Holy Spirit whom they have received. Currently, we are studying the Christian believer’s role as a steward of the Holy Spirit. We are presently considering God the Holy Spirit being called the ‘Spirit of Truth’ by the  Lord Jesus in John 14:17, and its implications. We have seen that as the Spirit of Truth, He will never, in any manner, not even in implications, be associated with anything that is false or wrong. In the last article we have seen and understood from the Bible what Biblically is the ‘Truth’ that with which the Holy Spirit will be associated with, and will never go beyond that – the Word of God. In the last article, on the basis of 2 Peter 1:3, we have seen that everything that pertains to life and godliness has already been given to the Christian Believers in God’s Word through the knowledge of Christ Jesus. There is nothing more that is required or will be given to him from God, over and beyond what has already been given in God’s Word.

 

Therefore, anything pertaining to the Believer’s life and godliness, that is not already stated in God’s Word, is not true, is not from God. Similarly, any implications or interpretations made upon Biblical things and terms, but not practically used, exemplified, or practised in the Biblical text, are just as false as well. God is eternal, unchanging (Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8), and infallible across all times, places, cultures, and civilizations. Similarly, God’s Word and instructions remain unchanging and always applicable no matter the times, places, cultures, and civilizations. Since God has given them in His omniscience, knowing the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), gave His Word for everyone, for all times, once and for all (Psalm 119:89, 160). Today we will consider further the implications and practical applications of the fact of the Holy Spirit being the Spirit of Truth.

God the Holy Spirit will never be associated in any way with the untruth, i.e., that which has not already been given in God’s Word the Bible, nor is in conformity with the teachings of the Bible. He will not in any way be associated or involved in giving it, nor in teaching it, nor in putting it to use in any manner in anyone’s life and ministry. The Holy Spirit, through His inspiration and guidance, is the actual author of God’s Word. Every person who wrote the books of the Bible, did so through the power of the Holy Spirit of God made available to him for writing it down (2 Timothy 3:16). That is why we cannot have the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, in anything that is not the truth, i.e., for that which is not a Biblical fact, though it, knowingly or unknowingly, may be presented as a Biblical fact, in a very logical manner, very attractively, stated very emphatically, and said repeatedly.

 

2 Timothy 3:16 and 2 Peter 1:20-21 say that it was the Holy Spirit who had the human authors of the Gospels record all that is recorded for us in the Gospels and all the other books of the Bible, for all times. In context of the Gospels, it was He, who had these human authors write down from the words that the Lord Jesus spoke during His ministry on earth, to be made available to us as ‘words spoken by the Lord Jesus’ in the Word of God. One of the functions and characteristics of the Holy Spirit is that though He does tell the Believers about the things to come; but He never adds anything extra from His own side to what He has already got recorded in the books of the Bible. Similarly, though He reminds the Christian Believers of what the Lord Jesus has taught and said during His earthly ministry, as He got it written in the Word, but in doing so He does not ever add to the already written words of the Lord (John 16:13-15). Always bearing this fact in mind is of paramount importance to be able to recognize and discern the various wrong teachings and false statements and interpretations or implications claimed to be received as revelations from God by anyone, whether a Believer or otherwise.

 

That is why we have the instructions of Acts 17:11 and 1 Thessalonians 5:21, exhorting us - do not ever assume anything; never ever get carried away by the godly character, name, fame, popularity of the preacher or the teacher. The Christian Believers, to live their Christian lives are to always use only the Word of God. Each and everything being preached and taught to them must be cross-examined, checked, and confirmed not through the words of any person, but only thr If it is Biblically proven and verified, only then is it to be accepted and believed, otherwise not. While this may seem to be an excessively rigid statement, but we need to remember that Satan transforms himself into an ‘angel of light’, and his angels masquerade as false apostles, deceitful workers, apostles of Christ, and ministers of righteousness, to deceive and mislead the Christian Believers through the Word of God (2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15).

God’s Word shows and teaches us that even the known people of God, knowingly or unknowingly said and did things that were wrong, were false, and that misled others into following their error. We will consider some examples of this in the next article.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

 हम मसीही विश्वासियों के परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें दिए गए संसाधनों के योग्य और भले भण्डारी होने की आवश्यकता के बारे में अध्ययन करते आ रहे हैं। उन संसाधनों में से एक है परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, जो उद्धार पाने के पल से ही उनमें निवास करने लगता है। परमेश्वर द्वारा वास्तव में नया जन्म पाये हुए मसीही विश्वासियों को पवित्र आत्मा दिया गया है, ताकि उनके मसीही जीवन और सेवकाई में उनका सहायक और मार्गदर्शक हो। पवित्र आत्मा और उसकी सामर्थ्य के उपलब्ध होने, उस सामर्थ्य का सही उपयोग कर पाने के बारे में जाने और सीखे बिना, किसी भी मसीही विश्वासी का उसका योग्य और भला भण्डारी होना पाना असम्भव है। इस सन्दर्भ में हम अब यूहन्ना 14:17 को देख रहे हैं, जहाँ पर पवित्र आत्मा के मसीही विश्वासियों का सहायक और साथी होने के बारे में तीन बातें कही गई हैं। इन तीन में से पहली है कि वह सत्य का आत्मा है; और पिछले दो लेखों से हम इस बात के अर्थ को समझ रहे हैं। आज हम समझेंगे और सीखेंगे कि परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के अनुसार, “सत्य” क्या है।

बाइबल दो बातों को, वास्तव में एक बात के ही दो स्वरूपों को, सत्य कहती है – पहला तो स्वयं प्रभु यीशु मसीह है – जैसा कि उन्होंने अपने ही शब्दों में कहा है, “यीशु ने उस से कहा, मार्ग और सच्चाई और जीवन मैं ही हूं; बिना मेरे द्वारा कोई पिता के पास नहीं पहुंच सकता” (यूहन्ना 14:6); और प्रभु ही, यूहन्ना 1:1-2, 14 के अनुसार जीवित वचन भी है। दूसरा, परमेश्वर का सम्पूर्ण वचन, अर्थात् बाइबल सत्य है, “तेरा सारा वचन सत्य ही है; और तेरा एक एक धर्ममय नियम सदा काल तक अटल है” (भजन 119:160)। यह अनन्तकालीन, अटल, त्रुटि रहित, अपरिवर्तनीय वचन, हमेशा के लिए स्वर्ग में स्थिर है (भजन 119:89)। इसलिए, इसमें कोई अचम्भे की बात नहीं है कि परमेश्वर के वचन में कुछ भी जोड़ने, अथवा उस में से कुछ भी घटाने या हटाने को बहुत गंभीरता से वर्जित किया गया है, और ऐसा करने वाले के लिए कठोर दण्ड की भी चेतावनी दी गई है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19)। ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि परमेश्वर के वचन में कुछ जोड़ना अथवा उस से कुछ हटाना, जीवित देहधारी वचन प्रभु यीशु में ही कुछ जोड़ने या उस में से कुछ हटाने के तुल्य होगा। इसका यह भी तात्पर्य होगा कि, परमेश्वर के गुणों के विपरीत, मनुष्य अपनी बुद्धि, समझ, और योग्यता के द्वारा परमेश्वर के सिद्ध और अनन्तकालीन सत्य को संपादित कर सकता है, निर्णय कर सकता है कि किस भाग को परिवर्तित करना है, किसे थोड़ा और सुधारना है, और किसे छांटना या निकालना है - जो यह कार्य परमेश्वर पुत्र, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के साथ करना ही है! और, यह असंभव है, यह एक शैतानी छलावा है, यह कहने का एक तरीका है कि परमेश्वर का वचन, अर्थात् स्वयं परमेश्वर, सिद्ध और त्रुटि रहित नहीं है; उसे मनुष्य द्वारा और बेहतर किया जा सकता है।

इस तथ्य का व्यवहारिक उपयोग यह है कि आत्मिक बातों के लिए, मसीही विश्वासियों के द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन के उपयोग और लागू किए जाने के लिए, ऐसी कोई भी बात जिसे प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने नहीं कहा या सिखाया है, ऐसा कुछ भी जो बाइबल में पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई और मार्गदर्शन में प्रेरितों और नबियों के द्वारा दिया और कहा नहीं गया है (2 तीमुथियुस 3:16; 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:11; इफिसियों 2:20), वह कदापि सत्य नहीं हो सकता है – उस बात को कहने और सिखाने वाला चाहे कोई भी हो, वह बात कितनी भी तर्कसंगत, आकर्षक, और भक्तिपूर्ण क्यों न प्रतीत हो। जैसा कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं, जीवन और भक्ति से सम्बन्धित सभी बातें हमें प्रभु यीशु मसीह की पहचान के द्वारा दे दी गई हैं (2 पतरस 1:3)। इसका अर्थ है कि मसीही जीवन जीने के लिए जो भी शिक्षाएं, नमूने, और उदाहरण आवश्यक हैं, विश्वासी के जीवन में और उसके सामने आने वाली परिस्थितियों का सामना करने के लिए जो भी उसे चाहिए, उसे कैसे प्रार्थना और आराधना करनी है, शैतानी युक्तियों और छल की बातों को कैसे पहचानना और उन पर कैसे जयवंत होना है, परमेश्वर को कैसे प्रसन्न करना है, आदि, सब कुछ पहले से ही परमेश्वर द्वारा हमें दे दी गई हैं। इसलिए, विश्वासी को भक्ति का जीवन जीने और अपनी सेवकाई में प्रभु के लिए प्रभावी होने के लिए और किसी बात की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है, और न ही इस वचन के अतिरिक्त उसे कुछ और कभी दिया जाएगा। विश्वासी द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन की कोई भी व्याख्या और प्रयोग करते समय उसे इन बातों को ध्यान में रखना अनिवार्य है, अन्यथा उसे भारी हानि उठानी पड़ेगी।

Holy Spirit – The Spirit of Truth – 3

 

We have been studying about the necessity of Christian Believers to be worthy stewards of God’s provisions given to them. One of these provisions is God the Holy Spirit, given to them the very moment of their salvation. God has given the Holy Spirit to reside in the truly Born-Again Christian Believers, to help and guide them in their Christian life and ministry. For the Believer to be a worthy steward of the Holy Spirit, to be able to properly utilize His availability and power in his life, he needs to learn about the Holy Spirit and His power available to him. In this context, we are now looking at John 14:17, where three things related to the Holy Spirit being the Helper and Companion of the Believers are mentioned. The first of these three is that He is the Spirit of Truth; and in the last two articles we have seen the implications of this statement. Today we will understand and learn what “the truth” means, as per God's Word the Bible.

The Bible calls two, actually two forms of one, as the Truth - first is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself – as He has said in His own words, “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6); and He is the Living Word John 1:1-2, 14 as well. The second is, the whole of God’s Word the Bible is the truth in its entirety, “The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever” (Psalms 119:160). This eternal, inerrant, infallible, unalterable Word is forever settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89). Therefore, it is not at all surprising that God’s Word strictly forbids and severely penalizes adding anything to it or taking away anything from it, the written Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19). This is because adding to, or taking away from God’s Word would be adding to or taking away from the Lord Jesus, the incarnate Living Word. It would also imply that, contrary to the characteristics of God’s Word, man through his wisdom and ability can edit and decide which part of God’s eternal, perfect truth should be modified or improved upon, which should be trimmed and which is to be discarded - which is tantamount to doing it to God the Son, the Lord Jesus! And, this is an impossibility, it is a satanic deception, it is another way of saying that God’s Word, implying God Himself, is not perfect and inerrant; but can be improved upon by man.

 

The practical application of this fact is that for spiritual matters, for the utilization and application of God’s Word by the Christian Believers, anything that has not been said or taught by the Lord Jesus, anything that has not already been given or said in the Bible, through the Apostles and Prophets under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 3:11; Ephesians 2:20), cannot be the truth - no matter who teaches it, or how logical, appealing, and pious it may seem. As we have seen earlier, all things pertaining to life and godliness have already been given to us through the knowledge of the Lord Jesus (2 Peter 1:3). This means that all teachings, patterns, and examples of living the Christian life, the ways of handling various situations that will come in the Believer’s way, how to worship and pray, how to recognize and overcome the satanic deceptions and ploys, how to please God, etc. have all, already been given to us by God. Hence, there is nothing more or else that the Believer needs, or will be given to him besides this Word, to live a godly life and be effective for the Lord in his ministry. The Believer must remain very careful to always keep these in mind, in interpreting God’s Word and in putting it to use, else they will have to suffer serious harm.

That is why Paul has said that he never went beyond the written Word (1 Corinthians 4:6); i.e., in his ministry for the Lord, he never added anything to what God had given. Paul also exhorts the Christian Believers in 1 Corinthians 11:1 and 1 Thessalonians 4:1, to follow not any person, but the Lord Jesus Christ, in just the same manner as he follows the Lord. We will learn further about God the Holy Spirit being the Spirit of Truth in the next article.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

बाइबल के इस तथ्य का कि पवित्र आत्मा सत्य का आत्मा है, अर्थ है कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा केवल उसी के साथ जुड़ा हुआ होगा जो बाइबल के अनुसार सही और सत्य है; और कभी भी किसी भी ऐसी बात के साथ नहीं होगा जो बाइबल के अनुसार सही और सत्य नहीं है। यह बात हमेशा ही और हर हाल में लागू रहेगी, चाहे प्रचार करने और शिक्षा देने वाला कोई भी हो, और उसकी बातें कितनी भी तर्कसंगत, आकर्षक, और भक्त क्यों न प्रतीत हो। क्योंकि, उसकी परिभाषा के अनुसार, सत्य का आत्मा किसी भी असत्य के साथ कभी भी, किसी भी रीति से, हो ही नहीं सकता है – किसी भी असत्य के साथ नहीं, तात्पर्य में भी नहीं, किसी ऐसी बात के लिए भी नहीं जो बहुत महत्वपूर्ण अथवा अनिवार्य प्रतीत होती है। यदि यह नहीं होगा, तो फिर किसी ज़रा सी बात के लिए, उसका सत्य का आत्मा होने का दावा गलत हो जाएगा, और इससे उसके बारे में प्रभु यीशु का दावा झूठा हो जाएगा, और परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल त्रुटिपूर्ण हो जाएगी। यदि परमेश्वर का लिखित वचन झूठा तथा त्रुटिपूर्ण है, तो फिर वह जीवित वचन जो देहधारी हुआ और जिसने हमारे बीच में डेरा किया (यूहन्ना 1:1-2, 14), वह भी गलत और त्रुटिपूर्ण है। अर्थात् परमेश्वर स्वयं गलत और त्रुटिपूर्ण है, पूर्णतः सिद्ध और अटल नहीं है। और फिर इस कारण मसीही विश्वास का, हमारे उद्धार का, परमेश्वर के सिद्ध, अटल, और बिना किसी त्रुटि के होने, इत्यादि का सम्पूर्ण आधार और कारण, ये सभी बातें संदेह की छाया में आ जाएँगी, और अविश्वसनीय, इसलिए अस्वीकार्य हो जाएँगी।

इसलिए यह सर्वोपरि महत्व की बात है कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित किसी भी प्रचार अथवा शिक्षा को स्वीकार करने से पहले, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को हमेशा ही उसे बाइबल से जाँच-परख कर, उसकी सत्यता और यथार्थ की पुष्टि कर लेनी चाहिए, तब ही स्वीकार करना चाहिये। किसी भी मसीही विश्वासी को केवल प्रचारक या शिक्षक के नाम और प्रतिष्ठा के आधार पर उसके द्वारा कही जा रही किसी भी बात को यूँ ही स्वीकार कभी नहीं करना चाहिए। न ही कभी किसी को भी किसी नाटकीय शारीरिक हाव-भाव को या भावनात्मक व्यवहार को पवित्र आत्मा के होने के ‘प्रमाण’ के रूप में स्वीकार नहीं करना चाहिए। इसके विपरीत, इस प्रकार के सभी नाटकीय प्रदर्शन इस बात का प्रमाण हैं कि उनके साथ पवित्र आत्मा किसी भी रीति से जुड़ा हुआ नहीं है। इस प्रकार का सभी प्रचार और शिक्षा यह दिखाता और सिखाता है कि यह झूठ है, गलत है; क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु के शिष्यों के मध्य पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा ऐसा कोई भी कार्य न तो परमेश्वर के वचन में, न सुसमाचारों में, और न ही आरंभिक कलीसिया में, कहीं नहीं कहा या किया गया है।

पवित्र आत्मा ही सभी विश्वासियों को उनकी सेवकाई में, और उसके लिए सामर्थ्य प्रदान करता है। यद्यपि प्रभु यीशु की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के दिनों में शिष्यों ने जा कर प्रचार किया और आश्चर्यकर्म भी किए, लेकिन अब, प्रभु ने उन्हें प्रेरितों 1:8 में, पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त करने तक की प्रतीक्षा करने के लिए कहा, और उसके बाद ही वे सेवकाई के लिए जाएं, क्योंकि तब पवित्र आत्मा उनकी सामर्थ्य होगा, और तब ही वे प्रभु के लिए प्रभावी होंगे।

Holy Spirit – The Spirit of Truth – 2

 

In the present series, we are learning about every truly Born-Again Christian Believer being a steward of God the Holy Spirit, who is given to him by God, at the moment of his salvation. The Holy Spirit is given to be his life-long Helper, i.e., his Companion and Guide, but not his substitute to do his work for him. As their Companion and Guide, the Holy Spirit always teaches, guides, supports, encourages, and through His gifts He also empowers the Believer to do their God given work. Believers need to learn about the ministry of the Holy Spirit in their lives, so that they can effectively take His help in carrying out and fulfilling their God assigned ministry, and properly live the life of Christian faith. Initially we saw that every Believer automatically becomes the Temple of the Holy Spirit at the very moment of his salvation; and simultaneously, God the Holy Spirit comes to reside in him, to always be with him throughout his lifetime. Since the last article we have started to learn from John 14:17, the three things that the Lord had stated to His disciples about God the Holy Spirit in this verse - that He is the Spirit of Truth, the world cannot receive Him, and He always dwells in them. Then we had started to learn about the first of these three aspects, i.e., about the Holy Spirit being the Spirit of Truth. In the last article, we had stopped at the point that the least bit of deviation, the slightest compromise with this aspect of the ministry of the Holy Spirit i.e., Him being the Spirit of Truth, will severely shake the very foundations of Christianity. Today we will delve into and understand why absolutely nothing but the truth can stand with the Holy Spirit.

This Biblical fact, that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, means that God the Holy Spirit will only be associated with that which Biblically is the truth; and never ever with anything that Biblically is not the truth. This holds true, no matter who is preaching, and however logical, appealing, and pious anyone’s preaching and teaching may seem. Because by definition, the Spirit of Truth can never have anything to do with any untruth – none whatsoever, not even in the implications, not for anything that seemingly is very important or necessary. If this was not so, then, because of even one slightest thing, the claim of His being the Spirit of Truth will become false, and therefore Lord Jesus’s claim about Him will become a lie, and God’s Word the Bible will become erroneous. If God’s written Word is false and erroneous, then the Living Word that became flesh and dwelt amongst us (John 1:1-2, 14), is also false and erroneous. In other words, God is false and erroneous, is not perfect, absolute, and unchanging. Therefore the whole basis and reason of the Christian Faith, of our salvation, of God being inerrant, infallible and absolute, etc., all come under a shadow of suspicion and become unreliable, therefore, unacceptable. 

Hence, it is of paramount importance that before accepting any preaching or teaching about God the Holy Spirit, whoever the preacher or teacher may be, every Christian Believer should always first verify from the Bible the absolute genuineness of what is being stated, only then believe and accept it. No Christian Believer should ever take for granted and fall for the name or reputation of the preacher or teacher. Neither should anyone ever accept any dramatic physical and emotional actions and expressions as ‘proof’ of the Holy Spirit being involved. On the contrary, all such displays are proof that the Holy Spirit is absolutely not involved in it. All such preaching and teaching that shows and promotes this, is false; since nothing of this sort is ever recorded anywhere about the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit in God’s Word, nor amongst the disciples of the Lord Jesus in the gospels, nor in the life of the first Church in the Word of God.

It is the Holy Spirit that gives the power to all Believers, in and for all their Christian ministries. Although earlier too, during the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus, the disciples had gone for preaching and had done miracles, but now the Lord Jesus had asked the disciples in Acts 1:8 to wait till they had received the Holy Spirit, and only then go for ministry, since the Holy Spirit would be their power, and only then will they be effective for the Lord.

Since the Holy Spirit will only be with the truth, therefore His power will also be available only with that which actually is the truth, and never with anything that is not the truth. Hence despite all that anybody may preach or teach about how to effectively use God's power, if it is not the Biblical truth, then it will not be effective for the Lord either. Although it may be very beneficial for the preacher and teacher to impress people and acquire worldly name, fame, and gains. In the next article we will learn about understanding ‘the truth.’
