परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 5
परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति मसीही विश्वासी के भण्डारी होने के सन्दर्भ में हम देखते आ रहे हैं कि किस प्रकार से शैतान बड़े चुपके से और चालाकी से परमेश्वर के वचन पर आक्रमण करता है, उसमें फेर-बदल करवाता है, और उसे परिवर्तित करके मनुष्य का व्यर्थ और अप्रभावी वचन बना देता है। हम उल्लेख कर चुके हैं कि शैतान न केवल परमेश्वर के वचन में जोड़ने या उसमें से कुछ निकालने के द्वारा यह करता है, किन्तु यह भी कि इससे भी बढ़कर वह बड़ी कुटिलता से बहुधा समर्पित मसीही विश्वासियों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों को उकसाता है कि बाइबल के लेखों और वाक्यांशों को लेकर ऐसे अर्थ और अभिप्राय के साथ प्रचार करें जो उनके लिए बाइबल में तो नहीं दिए गए हैं, बल्कि उन प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों ने अपनी धारणाओं से गढ़े हैं।
हमने कलीसिया के अगुवों और बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों द्वारा इस अकसर अनजाने में की जाने वाली गलती के दो स्वरूप देखे हैं। हमने यह भी देखा है कि या तो उनकी यह गलती पहचानी ही नहीं जाती है, अथवा उसकी अवहेलना की जाती है या उसे गलती मानने से अस्वीकार कर दिया जाता है। इन दो में से पहला स्वरूप था बाइबल के लेख को सही स्वरूप में लेना किन्तु उसके द्वारा बाइबल के बाहर का गलत अर्थ और सन्देश व्यक्त करना; और दूसरा स्वरूप था परमेश्वर के पक्ष में तो बात कहना, किन्तु अनजाने में ही ऐसी बातें कहना जो या तो परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सही नहीं हैं, अथवा यद्यपि वे परमेश्वर की भक्ति और आदर में कही गई हैं, किन्तु परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं हैं। आज हम इस गलती के एक तीसरे स्वरूप को देखेंगे, उद्धार में मनुष्य के द्वारा किसी प्रकार के कार्यों की भूमिका को सही ठहराना।
यह तीसरी प्रकार की गलती, बाइबल के लेखों के द्वारा मनुष्य के उद्धार के जीवन में उसके किसी प्रकार के कार्यों की अनिवार्यता को सही ठहराना, यह उपरोक्त पहली गलती – बाइबल के सही लेख को गलत अर्थ देकर उपयोग करना से बहुत मिलता-जुलता है। उद्धार के जीवन में कुछ विशेष कर्मों को घुसाने की इस गलती को दो स्वरूपों में देखा जाता है। एक है कि मसीही विश्वास का जीवन जीने के लिए, विश्वास के साथ उस कलीसिया के बनाए हुए कुछ रीति-रिवाज़ और नियम भी निभाने होते हैं; और दूसरा है कि विश्वास के साथ ‘परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने के लिए भला करो, भले बनो, अन्यथा उद्धार खोया जा सकता है’ के सिद्धान्त को भी मानना है। आज हम इन दोनों में से पहले स्वरूप को देखेंगे, अर्थात्, कलीसिया के रीति रिवाज़ और नियम मानने की आवश्यकता, जैसा यह आरंभिक कलीसिया में देखा गया था।
इस गलती का आरंभ पहली कलीसिया के समय से ही हो गया था। हम कलीसिया के इतिहास से जानते हैं कि कलीसिया का आरंभ, जैसा प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में दिया गया है, पतरस द्वारा यरूशलेम में पर्व मनाने आए हुए भक्त यहूदियों के मध्य किए गए प्रचार से हुआ था। सुसमाचार का आरंभिक प्रचार यहूदियों - प्रभु यीशु के शिष्यों के द्वारा, यरूशलेम में व्यवस्था का पालन करने के लिये एकत्रित यहूदियों में हुआ था, और उन्हीं यहूदियों में से ही उद्धार पाए हुए लोग आरंभिक कलीसिया में जुड़ते जा रहे थे। जब सुसमाचार का प्रसार हुआ, तो फिर गैर-यहूदी, अर्थात् अन्य-जातीय लोग भी उद्धार पा कर कलीसियाओं में जुड़ने लगे। तब यहूदी विश्वासियों और अन्य-जाति विश्वासियों के मध्य एक विवाद उठ खड़ा हुआ – प्रेरितों 15 अध्याय देखिए। कुछ यहूदी विश्वासी इस बात के लिए बहुत ज़ोर देने लगे कि अन्य-जाति मसीही विश्वासियों को भी खतना करवाने और यहूदी परम्पराओं का पालन करना अनिवार्य है।
हम पौलुस की सम्पूर्ण सेवकाई में देखते हैं कि उसे किस प्रकार से इस समस्या का अनेकों तरह से सामना करना पड़ा था, और कैसे वह बारम्बार सिखाता और डाँटता भी रहा कि सभी मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए मूसा द्वारा दी गई व्यवस्था की सभी परम्पराएँ प्रभु यीशु मसीह द्वारा पूरी करके मार्ग से हटा दी गई हैं। इसलिए अब किसी भी मसीही विश्वासी को मूसा की व्यवस्था और उसकी परम्पराओं के निर्वाह की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है (रोमियों 10:4; गलातियों 3:10-14; कुलुस्सियों 2:13-14)। यहूदियों से परिवर्तित हुए उन मसीही विश्वासियों को इस बात का एहसास करने की आवश्यकता थी कि उद्धार केवल परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह के द्वारा, विश्वास और केवल विश्वास ही के द्वारा है; वह विश्वास जो प्रभु यीशु पर हो, जो समस्त मानव-जाति के पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए प्रभु द्वारा कलवरी के क्रूस पर दिए गए बलिदान पर हो, और जो प्रभु के मृतकों में से फिर से जी उठने पर हो। इसलिए अब किसी को भी लौट कर मूसा के द्वारा दी गई परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था और उसकी परम्पराओं पर जाने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है; यद्यपि यहूदी उसी व्यवस्था और परम्पराओं के द्वारा परमेश्वर से जुड़े हुए थे और संसार के सभी लोगों में अनुपम थे।
अगले लेख में हम देखेंगे कि हमारे वर्तमान समय में यही गलती किस रूप में कलीसियाओं में विद्यमान है, और बहुत ही प्रचलित भी है।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 5
In a Christian Believer’s stewardship towards the Word of God, we have been seeing how Satan subtly attacks God’s Word, gets it altered, and thereby converts it into an ineffective and vain word of man. We have mentioned that Satan not only adds to or subtracts from God’s Word, but much more deviously, he very often and very subtly induces the committed Christian Believers, the Bible preachers and teachers, to preach texts or phrases from the Bible with meanings and implications that have not been given for those texts in the Bible, but have been contrived by those preachers and teachers according to their own concepts.
We have seen two forms of this frequent error, that is often inadvertently but commonly practiced by Church leaders, elders, Bible preachers and teachers। We have also seen that the error is often unrecognized, and usually is either ignored or is not accepted as an error. One form of the error is to use the right Biblical text to convey a wrong message through extra-Biblical meanings ascribed to it; and the second one, which we saw in the previous article, is to say things in favor of God, but, again inadvertently, say things that are not correct in the eyes of God, things that are not acceptable to God, even though they have been said reverentially and to honor Him. We will see a third form of this error today, justifying the role of some works of man in salvation.
This third form of the error, trying to justify, through Biblical texts, the necessity of some kinds of works in man’s life for salvation, is very similar to the first kind of error – using the right Biblical text, but ascribing wrong meanings to it. This error of inserting the necessity of certain works in the life of salvation is seen in two forms, one is that to live a life of Christian Faith, faith has to be accompanied by the fulfilling and obeying certain rituals and traditions of the Church; and the second is along with faith also accept the doctrine, ‘do good and be good to be acceptable to God, or else salvation will be lost.’ Today we will consider the first form, i.e., about the necessity of following church rituals and traditions, as it was first seen in the first Church.
This error started off with the beginning of the first Church itself. We know from the history of the Church that the Church began with the preaching of Peter in Jerusalem amongst the devout Jews gathered there to observe the Jewish feasts, as is recorded in Acts 2. The initial preaching of the gospel was by the Jews - the disciples of the Lord Jesus, amongst the Jews - gathered in Jerusalem for observing the Law; and the people being saved and being joined to the initial Church were from the Jews in Jerusalem. As the gospel spread, and the non-Jewish people, the Gentiles, were also saved and started joining the Church. Then a contention amongst the Jewish converts and the Gentile converts arose – see Acts chapter 15. Some of the Jewish converts insisted that the Gentile converts to Christianity should also be circumcised and be made to follow the Jewish customs.
We see throughout Paul’s ministry, how he repeatedly had to face this problem in various forms, and how he kept teaching and admonishing that Mosaic Law and customs have been fulfilled for all Believers by the Lord Jesus, and have now been taken out of the way. Therefore, now no Christian Believer needs to do anything to fulfil the Mosaic Law and customs stated in it (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:10-14; Colossians 2:13-14). Those Jewish converts and Believers needed to realize that salvation is by the grace of God, through faith and faith alone, in the Lord Jesus Christ, in His sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary to atone for the sins of all mankind, and His resurrection from the dead. Therefore, no one needs to revert back to the customs and rituals given in the Law delivered to Israel by God through Moses, although it is those God given Laws and customs that have connected the Israelites to God and made them unique amongst the people of the world.
In the next article we will see how this error is rampant and very much in vogue in our present-day Churches.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
