परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 3
पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि कैसे शैतान बड़े चुपके से और बहुत चालाकी से परमेश्वर के समर्पित और भक्त लोगों में होकर काम करता है; उन लोगों में होकर जो परमेश्वर के वचन को अच्छे से जानते हैं, उस वचन से सिखाते और प्रचार करते हैं। शैतान उन से परमेश्वर के प्रति उनके प्रेम, श्रद्धा, समर्पण, आदि की अभिव्यक्तियों में, और इससे सम्बन्धित बाइबल के लेखों और वाक्यांशों में, उनकी समझ और इच्छा के अनुसार कुछ ऐसी बातें जुड़वा देता है जो बाइबल में नहीं दी गई हैं। शैतान उन भक्त लोगों से बाइबल के उन लेखों और वाक्यांशों को उस अर्थ और अभिप्राय के साथ उपयोग करवाता है जो अर्थ और अभिप्राय बाइबल में नहीं दिया और बताया गया है। अर्थात्, ऐसी बातें और व्याख्याएँ जो उनकी अपनी समझ और बुद्धि के अनुसार हैं, परन्तु बाइबल में नहीं बताई गई हैं। ये दोनों ही बातें, अपनी ओर से बाइबल के लेखों और वाक्यांशों में कुछ जोड़ना, और बाइबल की बातों के अर्थ और अभिप्राय में अपनी समझ के अनुसार कुछ जोड़ना, परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट करने के, उसे मनुष्य के वचन में बदल देने के स्वरूप हैं, चाहे बाहर से वह वचन परमेश्वर का ही कहा और देखा जाता है; और यह करना वचन में वर्जित किया गया है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19)। हम यूहन्ना 1:1,14 से देख चुके हैं कि बाइबल परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु का ही एक स्वरूप है; इसलिये वह सदा काल के लिये स्थापित, शाश्वत, पूर्णतः सिद्ध, और सम्पूर्ण है। न तो बाइबल को संशोधित या बेहतर किया जा सकता है, और न ही समय, लोगों, परिस्थितियों, स्थान, आदि के साथ उसमें कोई परिवर्तन की कोई आवश्यकता अथवा सम्भावना है।
बहुत से मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए इस बात को समझना या स्वीकार करना कठिन होगा, और उनके लिए उससे भी अधिक कठिन होगा इस धारणा को अपने जीवनों में स्वीकार करके उसे अपने जीवन में से सुधारना। ऐसा करना विशेषकर उनके लिए कठिन होगा जिन्होंने ने ऐसी अभिव्यक्तियों को अपने पसंदीदा और अति आदरणीय अगुवे, मार्गदर्शक, और शिक्षक से लिया और सीखा है। इसे सुधारना उनके लिए भी कठिन होता है जिनके लिए बाइबल की इन बातों को बाइबल के बाहर के अर्थों के साथ औपचारिक रीति से बोलते और उपयोग करते हुए प्रार्थना और आराधना चढ़ाने की आदत हो गयी है। उनके लिए आदत में होकर बोली जाने वाली ये रटी हुई अभिव्यक्तियाँ, प्रत्येक प्रार्थना और आराधना – चाहे वह व्यक्तिगत हो अथवा सार्वजनिक, में उपयोग करने के लिए “मान्यता प्राप्त मानक” और “आवश्यक” बातें हैं; और वे इन्हें औरों को, नए मसीही विश्वासियों को भी सिखाते हैं।
हम शैतान के इस बहुत चालाकी द्वारा और चुपके से परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट करने के प्रयास को बाइबल के कुछ उदाहरणों के द्वारा देखेंगे और समझेंगे। हम आज एक उदाहरण को देखेंगे, और फिर अगले लेख में अन्य को भी देखेंगे।
प्रभु यीशु के बपतिस्मे के तुरंत बाद, और सेवकाई से ठीक पहले शैतान द्वारा ली गई उनकी परीक्षा पर ध्यान कीजिए। यद्यपि प्रभु की यह परीक्षा चालीस दिन तक चली थी (लूका 4:2), किन्तु हमारे लिए परमेश्वर के वचन में केवल अंतिम तीन परीक्षाएँ ही लिखी गई हैं। इन लिखी गई तीन परीक्षाओं में शैतान प्रभु के सामने उस समय उपलब्ध पवित्र शास्त्र, हमारा वर्तमान पुराना नियम, में लिखी हुई बातों को लेकर आता है। शैतान द्वारा लाई गई प्रत्येक परीक्षा के प्रत्युत्तर में प्रभु उसे उसी पवित्र शास्त्र की एक और बात कह कर चुप करता है। हमारे वर्तमान सन्दर्भ के लिए ध्यान देने योग्य बात है कि न तो प्रभु ने कभी शैतान पर किसी भिन्न ‘शास्त्र’ से लेकर कुछ कहने का दोष लगाया, और न ही उसे पवित्र शास्त्र के लेख में कुछ फेर-बदल कर के प्रभु के सामने प्रस्तुत करने का दोषी ठहराया।
दूसरे शब्दों में, शैतान ने पवित्र शास्त्र के वास्तविक लेख का ही उपयोग किया, किन्तु उसे ऐसे अनुचित अर्थ और अभिप्रायों के साथ उपयोग किया जो पवित्र शास्त्र में उस लेख के लिए नहीं दिए गए हैं। यह भी ध्यान कीजिए कि शैतान की बात का उत्तर देने के लिए, न तो प्रभु ने शैतान को परमेश्वर के शब्दों को बदलने का दोषी ठहराया, और न ही शैतान के द्वारा पवित्र शास्त्र से लेकर कही बात को सुधार कर वापस सही करने के लिए उसमें कोई परिवर्तन किया। दूसरे शब्दों में, शैतान ने पवित्रशास्त्र की शब्दों को ही उपयोग तो किया, किन्तु अनुचित और अनुपयुक्त रीति से किया, जिससे शब्द तो सही रहे किन्तु उन का अर्थ और अभिप्राय गलत हो गए। शैतान की युक्ति का प्रत्युत्तर देने के लिए प्रभु परमेश्वर को केवल उस बात का वास्तविक अर्थ और अभिप्राय स्पष्ट करना पड़ा, जो प्रभु ने पवित्र शास्त्र के एक अन्य भाग के उपयोग के द्वारा कर दिया।
इसलिए, शैतान की गतिविधियों से संबंधित बाइबल के इस उदाहरण से यह स्पष्ट है कि यह संभव है कि बाइबल के किसी बात का हवाला दिए जाते समय बाइबल का वास्तविक लेख तो कहा जाए, किन्तु उसे बाइबल के बाहर के अर्थ और अभिप्राय, वे जो उस लेख के बारे में बाइबल में नहीं लिखे गए हैं, देने के द्वारा उसे परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट करने के लिए दुरुपयोग किया जाए। साथ ही इस बात पर भी ध्यान दीजिए कि शैतान ने यह दुस्साहस प्रभु यीशु के साथ किया जो स्वयं ही, देहधारी होकर आया हुआ जीवता वचन था! यदि शैतान स्वयं परमेश्वर, देहधारी स्वरूप में “वचन” ही के विरुद्ध वचन के गलत अर्थ और अभिप्राय लाने की यह हिमाकत, यह धूर्तता कर सकता है, तो हमारे साथ क्यों नहीं करेगा? यद्यपि वह उस अचूक, सर्वज्ञानी, सर्वसामर्थी, अनन्तकालीन प्रभु के विरुद्ध कदापि सफल नहीं हो सकता था, लेकिन यह हमारे लिए सत्य नहीं है। शैतान बड़ी सरलता से हमें कभी भी भरमा और बहका सकता है अगर हम परमेश्वर के वचन के लेख और अर्थ तथा अभिप्रायों के प्रति पूर्णतः सच्चे और ईमानदार, उसका ठीक वैसे ही पालन तथा उपयोग करने वाले नहीं होंगे जैसा कि उसके विषय बाइबल में लिखा गया है।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 3
In the previous article we have seen how Satan very subtly and cleverly works through the committed and godly people; people well versed in the Scriptures, those who preach and teach the Word of God. Satan induces them to inadvertently, as an expression of their love, reverence, and commitment for God, to add some things to Biblical texts and phrases that have not been given in the Bible. Satan misleads them to use Biblical things, words, and phrases in the manner, with meanings and implications that have neither been given nor used about them in the Bible. In other words, things that are according to their own understanding and desires, but not stated in the Bible. Both of these, adding things from one’s own side, and adding meanings and implications according to one’s own understanding, are forms of corrupting God’s Word, of converting it to man’s word, though on the outside it is said and seen as God’s Word; and this has been forbidden in the Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19). We have seen on the basis of John 1:1, 14 that the Bible is a form of the Lord God Jesus; therefore, it is eternally established, absolutely perfect, and absolutely complete in every way. The Bible can neither be edited nor improved upon in any way, nor is there any scope or necessity to do so according to time, people, situations, places, etc.
For many Christian Believers, this may be a difficult or problematic concept to accept and understand, and will be even more difficult for them to accept it in their lives and then to correct from their lives. It is especially so for those who have taken and accepted these expressions from their favourite and esteemed leader, guide, or elder. It is also very difficult for those to correct it, who are now are habituated to using these extra-Biblical forms and meanings of Biblical expressions by rote, perfunctorily, as “standard” or “necessary” expressions of offering prayers and worship to God, whether privately or publicly, and they also pass them on to others, the new Believers in Christ.
We will try to clarify and understand this subtle but devious ploy of Satan to corrupt God’s Word, through some Biblical examples. We will take one example today, and then consider others in the next article.
Consider the ‘Temptations of Christ’ by Satan, immediately after His baptism, and just before He started His public ministry. Though He was tempted for forty days by the devil (Luke 4:2), yet only the last three temptations have been recorded for us in God’s Word. In these three recorded temptations, the devil brings before the Lord Jesus things written in the then available Scriptures, the present Old Testament. For each temptation, the Lord countered and silenced the devil with another quote from the same Scriptures. For our present context, the thing to note here is that the Lord never accused Satan of either quoting from some different ‘scripture,’ or of altering the Scriptural text, while stating it to Him.
In other words, Satan used the actual Scriptural text, but did so with an inappropriate meaning and implication. Satan misapplied and thereby misused Scriptural text, by ascribing meanings and implications to it that were never given, meant, or implied about it in the Scriptures. Take note that, in answering Satan, the Lord did not accuse him of changing the text of God’s Word, nor did the Lord have to correct any of the texts that Satan quoted to the Lord, to revert them back to their actual form. In other words, Satan used the text, the words of the Scripture, but in an inappropriate and misleading manner, because of which the words, the text remained correct, but their meaning and implications became wrong and incorrect. To counter Satan’s ploy, all that the Lord did was to clarify the actual meaning and implication of the Scriptural text that Satan was misusing to tempt Him, by using another Scriptural text.
So, it is evident from this Biblical example of satanic activities that an actual Biblical text while being quoted, can also be misused by ascribing non-Biblical meanings and implications to it, thereby subverting and corrupting God’s Word. And also note that Satan had the audacity to do this with the Lord Jesus – the Living Word who became flesh! If Satan could dare to attempt this against God, against ‘The Word’ Himself, then why will he not do it against us? Though he could never have been successful in any of his attempts against the infallible, omniscient, omnipotent, eternal Lord; but the same does not hold true for us, and Satan can easily mislead us, unless we remain totally true and adherent to God’s Word, in its text as well as its meaning, implications, and use, just as it has been given in the Bible.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
