परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 15

 

पुनःअवलोकन: पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि किस प्रकार से शैतान ने उस समय के धार्मिक अगुवों से पुराने नियम के लेखों में छेड़-छाड़ करवाई, और उन्होंने उसे बदल कर उनकी अपनी सहूलियत और लाभ के लिए बना दिया। प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के समय इस बात को उस समय जन-सामान्य के भी तथा उन धार्मिक अगुवों के सम्मुख भी प्रकट किया था (मत्ती 15:1-1)। इसके बाद हमने देखा था कि जैसे-जैसे सुसमाचार और मसीहियत का प्रचार और प्रसार होता गया, उसी के साथ ही शैतान द्वारा मसीही शिक्षाओं को बिगाड़ने और भ्रष्ट करने का, गलत शिक्षाओं को प्रचलित करने का, लोगों को बहका और भरमा कर विधर्मी मार्गों में डालने का भी प्रचार और प्रसार होता चला गया; और इस धोखे में भी लोगों में तथा उनके धार्मिक अगुवों में यही भ्रम व्याप्त था कि वे सही और भक्ति के मार्ग पर ही हैं। हमने बाइबल के उदाहरणों के द्वारा, इस सामान्यतः न तो देखे-समझे और न ही पहचाने जाने वाले तथ्य को भी देखा था कि परमेश्वर की कलीसिया और मण्डलियों में इन गलत शिक्षाओं और सिद्धांतों की पैठ बैठा लेने और फिर दूसरों में फैलाए जाने में, चाहे अनजाने में या जान-बूझकर, हमेशा से ही धार्मिक अगुवों की एक प्रमुख एवं महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही है।

यही, कलीसिया के सम्पूर्ण इतिहास में होता चला आया है, और आज भी हो रहा है; बाइबल के लेखों में फेर-बदल और बिगाड़ करने के द्वारा उसे बाइबल के विपरीत अर्थ और अभिप्राय दिए जा रहे हैं। और फिर इन फेर-बदल किए हुए, बिगड़े हुए, भ्रष्ट किए गए लेखों, उनके अनुचित अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के आधार पर कई डिनॉमिनेशंस, मत, और संप्रदाय खड़े हो गए हैं जो परमेश्वर के वचन से बहुत भिन्न बातों का प्रचार करते और शिक्षाएं देते हैं, किन्तु दावा बाइबल के अनुसार बिलकुल सही होने का ही करते हैं। क्योंकि वे लोग यह एक आकर्षक, सांसारिक रीति से लुभावनी, और प्रतीत होने में तर्कपूर्ण तरीकों से, बहुधा उनके साथ भौतिक लाभों के वायदों के साथ करते हैं, इसीलिए बहुत से लोग उनकी ओर मुड़ जाते हैं, उन्हें तुरन्त ही स्वीकार कर लेते हैं। इस गलत शिक्षाओं और अनुचित बातों के इतने सामान्य और खुली रीति से प्रचलित होने के दो मुख्य कारण हैं। आज हम इन दो में से पहले कारण को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।

पहला कारण, जैसा कि पहले भी कहा जा चुका है, यह बहुत दुःखद तथ्य है कि अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही कभी परमेश्वर और उसके वचन को अपने जीवनों में उचित समय देते ही नहीं हैं। परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षाओं (मत्ती 6:31-34; 1 यूहन्ना 2:15-17; याकूब 4:1-4) के विपरीत, उनके लिए अनन्त परमेश्वर नहीं, बल्कि नश्वर सँसार, साँसारिक ज़िम्मेदारियाँ, और सँसार की नाशमान बातें अर्जित करते रहना ही प्राथमिकताएँ होती हैं। उनके लिए परमेश्वर कोई विशेष महत्व का नहीं बल्कि औपचारिकता निभाने, कर्तव्य पूरा करने के लिए है। और उनके मन-मस्तिष्क में इस बात को गहराई से जमा देने के बाद, शैतान उन्हें सँसार की बातों और जिम्मेदारियों में ही उलझाए रखता है, उन्हें कभी उनकी इस गंभीर गलती और इसके भयानक दुष्परिणामों का एहसास ही नहीं होने देता है, उन्हें उलझा कर परमेश्वर तथा उसके वचन से दूर बनाए रखता है। इस बात का सबसे सामान्य और प्रकट प्रमाण है ऐसे लोगों के द्वारा स्वयं बाइबल अध्ययन करने के लिए समय को न लगाना। कुछ लोग औपचारिकता के लिए बाइबल पढ़ अवश्य लेते हैं, किन्तु अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही सामान्यतः बाइबल की बातों और शिक्षाओं से अनभिज्ञ ही रहते हैं। और इसलिए, इस कमी को पूरा करने के लिए, परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने के लिए वे औरों के द्वारा दिए गए संदेशों और शिक्षाओं को मान लेने, उन्हें स्वीकार कर लेने वाले बन जाते हैं। लेकिन क्योंकि उन्हें बाइबल में वास्तव में लिखी गई बातें और दी गई शिक्षाएँ पता नहीं होती हैं, इसीलिए जो भी प्रचार किया या सिखाया जाता है, उसे बिना जाँचे-परखे ही स्वीकार कर लेते हैं। प्रचार करने तथा शिक्षा देने वाला जितना अधिक परिचित, लोकप्रिय, या ख्याति प्राप्त व्यक्ति होता है, उतने ही अधिक अंध-विश्वास के साथ उसकी बातें स्वीकार की जाती हैं, उस पर तथा उसकी बातों पर भरोसा रखा जाता है, उनका बिना किसी संदेह के पालन किया जाता है।

एक और बात जो प्रचारक और शिक्षक की लोकप्रियता और उसकी कही बात को स्वीकार करने पालन करने में बहुत बड़ा योगदान करती है, वह है उसकी वाक्पटुता, उसकी प्रभावी शब्दावली, तथा शैली, और जिस तरह से वह बाइबल की बातों, शब्दों, और वाक्यांशों का बड़ी भक्ति, धार्मिकता और प्रभावी रीति से प्रस्तुत तथा उपयोग करता है। लेकिन शायद ही कोई होता होगा जो परमेश्वर के वचन में दिये गये निर्देशों (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21) के अनुसार, वापस जाकर परमेश्वर के वचन से इस बात की पुष्टि करता है कि क्या प्रचार की और बताई गई बाइबल की वे बातें, वे शब्द, वे वाक्यांश, बाइबल में भी, बाइबल में परमेश्वर के लोगों की दर्ज की गई प्रार्थनाओं, वार्तालापों, और संदेशों आदि में, वास्तव में उसी अर्थ और अभिप्राय से ही उपयोग हुए हैं जैसे कि यह प्रचारक आज उन्हें उपयोग कर रहा है, और करना सिखा रहा है? ध्यान कीजिए, जैसा कि हम पहले के लेखों में देख चुके हैं, लोगों को भरमाने और बहकाने के लिए शैतान की एक बहुत सफल युक्ति है बाइबल के सही लेख का अनुचित रीति से, अर्थात, ऐसे उपयोग करना, जैसा उपयोग उस लेख के लिए बाइबल में दिया नहीं गया है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 15

 

Review: In the previous article we had seen how Satan had got the then religious leaders to tamper with and alter the Old Testament Scriptural text, and they converted it into something to their convenience and profit. Lord Jesus during His earthly ministry had pointed this out to the general public as well as to those religious leaders (Matthew 15:1-15). We next saw that, as the gospel and Christianity spread, so did the spread of wrong teachings and doctrines brought in by Satan to corrupt and distort the Christian teachings, to deceive and misguide people into wrong, ungodly ways increase; even in this deception, all the while making the people and the religious leaders think that they were on the right and godly path. We also saw that Biblical examples clearly illustrate the generally unrealized and unacknowledged fact, that the religious leaders, knowingly or unknowingly, have always had a major role to play in letting these satanic teachings and doctrines enter and take hold in God’s Churches and from there spread to others.

This has been happening throughout Church history, and is happening even today; the Biblical text is being altered and distorted, and being given inappropriate unBiblical meanings. Then, based on these altered, distorted, corrupted texts and the inappropriate meanings and implications ascribed to them, many denominations, sects, and cults have risen up, that preach and teach things much different from God’s Word, but claim to be absolutely correct Biblically. Because they do it in an attractive, physically appealing, and in a seemingly logical manner, often along with promises of many temporal gains and benefits, therefore, many people readily accept their false teachings and turn to following them. There are two main reasons why these wrong and inappropriate teachings are so freely and easily accepted। Today we will begin considering the first reason.

The first reason, as has been pointed out earlier, is the very sad fact that most Christians never give God and His Word any quality time in their lives. Contrary to the teachings of God’s Word (Matthew 6:31-34; 1 John 2:15-17; James 4:1-4), instead of eternal God, the perishing world, worldly responsibilities, and gaining the temporal things of the world is priority for them. God is not someone important, but an obligation, a formality to be fulfilled. And having got this firmly entrenched in their minds and hearts, Satan keeps them occupied in the things and responsibilities of the world, never letting them realize their very grave error and its disastrous consequences, and keeps them entangled away from God and His Word. This is most commonly evidenced by their not taking time to study the Bible for themselves; some may perfunctorily read it, but by far the vast majority of Christians generally remain unaware of what actually is written in God’s Word. Therefore, to make up for this lack, they always blindly rely on the messages and teachings given to them by others as a means of learning God’s Word. But since they are unaware of what is actually written and taught in the Bible; therefore, they tend to accept whatever has been preached and taught without cross-checking or verifying it. The more familiar, popular, or renowned the preacher or teacher is, the more confidently and blindly he is trusted, and whatever he says and preaches is accepted, believed, and followed.

A factor that strongly contributes to the popularity and general acceptance of whatever the preacher or teacher says is his impressive vocabulary, eloquence, and style, and the manner in which he presents and uses Biblical words, terms, and phrases in a seemingly very pious, religious, and impressive sounding way. But hardly anyone bothers to go back and as instructed in God’s Word (Acts 17:11; 1 Corinthians 14:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:21), confirm from God’s Word, whether those Biblical terms, words, and phrases that have been preached and stated, have actually been used in the Bible, by God’s people, as recorded in their prayers, conversations and messages, etc., in just the same way, with the same meanings and implications, as this preacher or teacher is using them is ascribing to them today, and is teaching to be done now? Remember, as we have seen in the previous articles, one of Satan’s very effective strategies to misguide people is to use the correct Biblical text, in an inappropriate way, i.e., in ways not seen in the Bible.

 

We will continue our consideration and analysis of this first reason with Biblical examples in the next article.

 

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

एक मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर के वचन का भण्डारी होने के बारे में देखते हुए, हमने पिछले लेखों में कुछ उन तरीकों को देखा है, जिनके द्वारा शैतान बड़ी चालाकी और चुपके से परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करवा देता है। हम पहले यह देख चुके हैं कि शैतान यह मुख्यतः दो तरीकों से करता है: पहला तरीका, जिसे हम उसके विभिन्न स्वरूपों में देखते आ रहे हैं, है बाइबल के वास्तविक लेख को बनाए रखना किन्तु उसे बाइबल में उन लेखों से सम्बन्धित उपयोग और शिक्षाओं से असंगत, उन के विपरीत अर्थ और अभिप्राय प्रदान करवा देना। जैसा हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है, इस फेर-बदल को करवाने और लागू करवाने का शैतान का सबसे कारगर और सफल तरीका है यह काम जाने या अनजाने में परमेश्वर का प्रतिबद्ध जन, कलीसिया के प्रमुख व्यक्तियों या अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि के द्वारा करवाना। ये धार्मिक लोग यही सोचते और समझते रहते हैं कि वे परमेश्वर की सेवा कर रहे हैं और उसके वचन का प्रचार कर रहे हैं; लेकिन उन्हें एहसास ही नहीं होने पाता है कि बड़ी चालाकी से शैतान ने उन्हें फँसा लिया है और वे उसके लिए कार्य कर रहे हैं और जो वो प्रचार कर रहे हैं, सिखा रहे हैं, वह परमेश्वर के वचन का बिगड़ा हुआ, भ्रष्ट किया हुआ स्वरूप है। परमेश्वर के वचन के साथ छेड़-छाड़ करने का शैतान का दूसरा तरीका, जिसे हम आज देखेंगे, पवित्र शास्त्र के लेख को ही बदल देना है। परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए वचन में कुछ जोड़ने अथवा उसमें से कुछ निकाल लेने के द्वारा वे वचन के अर्थ और अभिप्राय ही बदल देते हैं। और शैतान यह कार्य भी धार्मिक अगुवों के द्वारा ही करवाता है।

यह बात प्रभु यीशु की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के समय प्रकट थी। उस समय के धार्मिक अगुवों ने परमेश्वर के वचन में बहुत से फेर-बदल कर दिए थे, उसे अपने स्वार्थ के लिए सहज तथा अपने लाभ के लिए उपयोग करने के लिए। जब हम मत्ती 5 से 7 अध्याय में प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए ‘पहाड़ी उपदेश’ को पढ़ते हैं, तो हम प्रभु यीशु को बहुधा ‘तुम सुन चुके हो’, ‘तुम से कहा गया था’, आदि वाक्यांशों का पवित्र शास्त्र की शिक्षाओं के विषय उपयोग करते हुए देखते हैं; और फिर वह इसके बाद कहता है, ‘परन्तु मैं तुम से कहता हूँ’ और फिर जन-सामान्य को उस समय के धार्मिक अगुवों द्वारा जो गलत कहा और सिखाया गया था उसके सही स्वरूप को बताता है। इसी प्रकार से, मत्ती 15:1-15 में, फरीसियों और शास्त्रियों के बारे में प्रभु कहता है, “और ये व्यर्थ मेरी उपासना करते हैं, क्योंकि मनुष्यों की विधियों को धर्मोपदेश कर के सिखाते हैं” (मत्ती 15:9)। ये दोनों उदाहरण भली-भांति चित्रित करते हैं कि कैसे उस समय भी, धार्मिक अगुवों ने, अपनी समझ के अनुसार और सहूलियत के लिये, परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करके उसे बिगाड़ दिया था, भ्रष्ट कर दिया था।

प्रभु यीशु मसीह के स्वर्गारोहण के पश्चात, प्रभु में विश्वास द्वारा मिलने वाले उद्धार के सुसमाचार का प्रचार होने लगा, और जैसे-जैसे कलीसियाएँ बढ़ने और फैलने लगीं, सभी स्थानों पर मसीही विश्वासी बढ़ने लगे, तो साथ ही शैतान ने भी मसीही विश्वास की बिगाड़ी हुई शिक्षाओं को उनमें फैलाना आरम्भ कर दिया। उस समय लोगों के लिए एक बहुत गंभीर समस्या थी उनके पास लिखित नया नियम विद्यमान नहीं होना, जैसा कि आज हमारे पास है, और इससे शैतान का कार्य और भी सरल हो गया क्योंकि सभी शिक्षाएँ या तो मौखिक दी जाती थीं, अथवा विभिन्न स्थानों पर स्थित लोगों या कलीसियाओं को लिखी गई पत्रियों के द्वारा दी जाती थीं। नीचे दिए गए थोड़े से उदाहरणों को देखते समय, कृपया इस एक बात पर भी ध्यान कीजिए, कि वे कौन लोग थे जिनके द्वारा शैतान ने इन फेर-बदल की, तथा वचन को भ्रष्ट करने वाली बातों को मण्डलियों में घुसाया था। आप देखेंगे कि लगभग हर बार धार्मिक अगुवों या कलीसियाओं से संबंधित प्रमुख लोगों के द्वारा ही शैतान ने यह कार्य करवाया है।

 

अनेकों में से कुछ उदाहरण हैं:

• प्रेरितों 20:28-30 में, पौलुस बंदी हो कर रोम जाते समय, मार्ग में इफिसुस की मण्डली के अगुवों से मिलता है, और उन्हें उन लोगों के बारे में सचेत करता है जो आकर टेढ़ी-मेढ़ी बातें प्रचार करेंगे और लोगों को खींच कर ले जाएँगे; और वह विशेष रूप से यह भी कहता है कि ऐसे कुछ लोग उन्हीं में से – कलीसिया के उन अगुवों में से, जिन्हें वह संबोधित कर रहा था, भी उठ खड़े होंगे।

• गलातियों 1:6-9 में पौलुस गलातिया की मण्डली के विश्वासियों को, उनके गलत सुसमाचार के पीछे चल निकलने के लिए, डांट रहा है; और वह भी सही सुसमाचार ग्रहण करने के शीघ्र ही बाद। लेकिन साथ ही इस बात पर भी ध्यान दीजिए कि पौलुस किन के लिए कहता है कि वे गलत सुसमाचार प्रचार कर सकते हैं – वह स्वयं अपने, अपने साथियों, या किसी स्वर्गदूत के द्वारा यह होने की बात करता है! अर्थात्, वे लोग जिन्हें सुसमाचार प्रचार सौंपा गया है, उसकी समझ दी गई है, वे ही गलत प्रचार करने के लिए बहकाए और भरमाए जा सकते हैं। यह एक बार फिर इस बात की पुष्टि करता है कि शैतान बड़ी चालाकी से धर्मी लोगों को, वचन का वरदान पाए हुए प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों को, परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के विपरीत बातें सिखाने और प्रचार करने के लिए उपयोग करता है।

• इसी प्रकार से 2 तीमुथियुस 2:17-18, तथा 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:1-2 में, पौलुस उस गलत सन्देश का सुधार करता है जो कुछ प्रचारकों द्वारा प्रचार किया जा रहा था और कलीसियाओं को परेशान कर रहा था, कि प्रभु का दूसरा आगमन हो चुका है, और वे लोग पीछे छूट गए हैं; इस प्रकार से उन्हें भरमाया जा रहा था कि उनका विश्वास करना व्यर्थ है। कलीसियाओं के मान्यता प्राप्त प्रचारक ही यह गलत प्रचार कर रहे थे।

• प्रेरित यूहन्ना, 1 यूहन्ना 4:1 में उन झूठे भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के लिए सचेत करता है जो सँसार में थे, प्रभु यीशु और उद्धार की गलत शिक्षाओं के साथ फ़ैल चुके।

• प्रकाशितवाक्य अध्याय 2 और 3 की सात कलीसियाओं के बारे में विचार कीजिए, और प्रभु के पास उनमें से पांच कलीसियाओं के अगुवों के लिए कितनी गंभीर ताड़ना की बातें थीं, उनके द्वारा अपनी ही गलत शिक्षाओं और सिद्धांतों का प्रचार करने और सिखाने के कारण।

यदि आप इस तथ्य पर थोड़ा गंभीरता से विचार करें, नए नियम में, सभी पत्रियाँ या तो व्यक्तियों को अथवा कलीसियाओं को लिखी गई थीं, मुख्यतः, उनमें घुस आई बहुत सी गलतफहमियों, गलत धारणाओं, और गलत शिक्षाओं को सही करने के लिए। दूसरे शब्दों में, जैसे ही मसीही शिक्षाएँ फैलने लगीं, उसी के साथ ही शैतान द्वारा उनके बिगाड़े और भ्रष्ट किए हुए स्वरूप भी फैलने लगे, यदि सही शिक्षाओं से अधिक तेज़ी से नहीं तो कम से कम उनकी गति से तो अवश्य ही। इसीलिए लगभग आधा नया नियम, अर्थात्  प्रेरितों के काम और प्रकाशितवाक्य पुस्तकों के मध्य की सारी पत्रियाँ, सभी इसी एक उद्देश्य के अन्तर्गत लिखी गईं – शैतान द्वारा वचन और उसके अर्थ में लाए गए बिगाड़ को सही करने के लिए। यदि आप इस बात का अध्ययन करें कि ये शैतानी शिक्षाएँ और सिद्धान्त कलीसियाओं और मण्डलियों कैसे घुसे, कैसे जम कर बैठ गए, और फिर औरों तक भी फैला दिए गए, तो आप को यह जानकार अचरज होगा कि इन भ्रष्ट शैतानी बातों को कलीसियाओं में घुसने देने और उन्हें पैठ बना लेने में विभिन्न धार्मिक अगुवों और प्रमुख लोगों का बहुत महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा है। और इसमें बहुत बड़ी सहायता और समर्थन उन अगुवों के अंध-भक्तों का, तथा मण्डली के लोगों द्वारा बिना कोई प्रश्न उठाए हर बात को चुपचाप स्वीकार कर लेने की प्रवृत्ति का भी रहा है।

अगले लेख में हम देखेंगे कि वर्तमान में, कलीसियाओं और मण्डलियों में यह वचन के साथ छेड़-छाड़ और बिगाड़ कैसे हो रहा है, तथा कैसे पहचाना जाए कि कोई धार्मिक अगुवा, अनजाने में ही परमेश्वर के वचन में बिगाड़ लाने के लिए, बिना इस के बारे में कोई जानकारी के, या इसका एहसास किए, शैतान द्वारा संभवतः फँसा लिया गया है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 14

 

While considering the stewardship of a Christian Believer towards God’s Word the Bible, in the previous articles we have seen some of the various subtle and unapparent ways by which Satan alters God’s Word. Earlier, we have seen that Satan does this alteration in mainly two ways: one is what we have been seeing in its various forms, i.e., retaining the actual Biblical text but giving it meanings and implications that are inconsistent with, or are contrary to actual Biblical usage and teachings of those texts. As we have seen in the preceding articles, Satan’s most convincing way of doing and successfully implementing such alteration is by getting it done advertently or inadvertently through God’s committed Believers, Church leaders or elders, Bible preachers or teachers, etc. These religious people keep thinking and believing that they are serving God and propagating His Word, without realizing that very cunningly Satan has trapped them into working for him, and they are actually preaching and teaching versions of God’s Word distorted and corrupted by him. Satan’s second method of tampering with God’s Word, which we will see today, is to alter the very text of the Scriptures by adding to or taking away from the original text given by God, and thereby change the meanings and implications of God’s Word. And Satan gets this also done through these same religious people.

This was evident even at the time of the Lord Jesus’s earthly ministry. The religious leaders of that time had made many alterations in God’s Word, to make it suit their convenience and even greed. As we read through the ‘Sermon on the Mount’ given by the Lord in Matthew chapters 5-7, very frequently we come across the Lord Jesus saying ‘you have heard’, ‘it has been said to you’, etc., about some Scriptural teachings, and He then follows it up by saying ‘but I say to you’ and then states the corrected form of what was wrongly being preached and taught to the general people by the religious leaders of His time. Similarly, in Matthew 15:1-15, for the Scribes and Pharisees the Lord Jesus says “And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9). Both these examples well illustrate how the religious leaders, according to their own understanding and for their own convenience, had altered and corrupted the Word of God, even at the time of earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus.

After the ascension of the Lord Jesus and the preaching of the gospel of salvation through faith in Him, as the Churches spread and Christian Believers began to increase everywhere, Satan again planted these altered forms of teachings of the Christian Faith. One serious handicap at that time was the lack of the written and compiled New Testament text, as we have in our hands now. This made Satan’s work much easier, since all the teachings were either given orally, or were in the form of letters written to persons or Churches in various locations. While looking at the few examples that are given below, please keep noting the people who were used by Satan to carry out this alteration and corruption of God’s Word. You will see that practically every time it were the religious leaders or prominent people from, or related to the Church, whom Satan used.

 

Just a few of the many examples are:

• In Acts 20:28-30, Paul on his way to Rome as a prisoner, meets with the elders of the Ephesian Church, and warns them of people who will come in to preach perverse things and draw people away; and he specifically states that some of these perverse people will arise from amongst them – i.e., the very Church Elders he was addressing, and warning.

• In Galatians 1:6-9, the Apostle Paul is admonishing the Galatian Believers for turning to a false gospel, and that too soon after receiving the true gospel. But also note who Paul refers to as the ones who are likely to preach this false gospel – he himself, his companions, even an angel from heaven! In other words, the very people who have been entrusted with the gospel and given the understanding about it, the preachers and teachers gifted with preaching and teaching the Word of God, can be deceived into preaching and teaching false things. This again goes to affirm that Satan very cleverly uses the godly people, to preach and teach things contrary to God and His Word.

• Similarly in 2 Timothy 2:17-18, and 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2, Paul corrects the wrong message that was being preached by some preachers since it was disturbing the Churches. The wrong message was that the second coming of the Lord Jesus had already happened, but they were left behind; thus, making them think that their faith was vain. It were the well recognized preachers of the Churches who were preaching wrong things.

• The Apostle John, in 1 John 4:1 warns against many false prophets who had gone out into the world with a wrong doctrine about the Lord Jesus and salvation.

• Consider the seven Churches of Revelations chapters 2 and 3, and what severe admonition the Lord had for those Elders having the charge of those Churches; i.e., for five of those seven Churches, for preaching and teaching their wrong doctrines and beliefs.

If you give it serious thought, in the New Testament, all the letters were written to persons or Churches, mainly to correct the many misunderstandings, misconceptions, and wrong teachings that had crept into the lives of the Christian Believers. In other words, as soon as the Christian teachings spread, their corrupted versions from Satan also spread, at least at the same pace if not faster. Therefore, about half of the New Testament text, i.e., all the letters in between the books of Acts and Revelation, were all written for this one main purpose – to correct the distortions and misinterpretations that Satan had brought into the Word of God. If you study how these various satanic teachings and doctrines infiltrated and settled into the Churches and congregations, and then spread to others from them, you will be surprised to see that in letting these satanic corruptions enter and settle down in the Churches and congregations, the various religious leaders and elders had a very major role to play. This was of course strongly helped and supported by the blind-followers of those leaders as well as the tendency of passive unquestioning acceptance by the congregation.

In the next article we will see about the manner in which this tampering with God's Word and distorting it is happening in the Churches and Assemblies in the present days; and how to recognize that a religious leader may have been ensnared by Satan into inadvertently corrupting God’s Word, without being aware of it, realizing it.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले कुछ लेखों में, यह दिखाने के लिए कि शैतान किस प्रकार से बाइबल के लेखों को बाइबल के विपरीत तरीके से उपयोग करता है, हम ईसाइयों या मसीहियों में पाई जाने वाली एक बहुत आम धारणा के बारे में देखते आ रहे हैं, कि उद्धार खोया जा सकता है, और उसे भले बनो, भला करो, अर्थात्, कर्मों के द्वारा बना कर रखना होता है; किन्तु बाइबल के अनुसार यह धारणा बिलकुल गलत है। यह समझने के लिए कि बाइबल के अनुसार यह धारणा गलत क्यों है, हमने पिछले लेखों में बाइबल में से देखा था कि उद्धार या नया-जन्म पाने का क्या अर्थ है, यह पारिवारिक अथवा वंशागत नहीं है, और इसमें किसी भी मनुष्य का कोई भी कार्य या प्रयास कारगर नहीं है, और न ही ये बातें व्यक्ति के उद्धार में कोई योगदान देती हैं। यह पूर्णतः और केवल व्यक्ति के लिए परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से है जो उस पर व्यक्तिगत रीति से किया जाता है। इसके बाद हमने उद्धार खोए जा सकने के अर्थ और तात्पर्यों को देखा था, और यह भी कि इस धारणा को स्वीकार करना परमेश्वर के बुनियादी गुणों पर हमला करना है, परमेश्वर के परमेश्वर होने पर हमला करना है; और इसलिए पूर्णतः असंगत और अस्वीकार्य है। आज हम निष्कर्षों के साथ इस बात का समापन करेंगे कि शैतान किस प्रकार से बाइबल के लेख और तथ्यों का अनुचित उपयोग लोगों से यह मनवाने के लिए करता है कि उद्धार खोया जा सकता है।

शैतान द्वारा एक बुनियादी तर्क उपयोग किया जाता है कि यदि उद्धार हमेशा के लिए है, और कभी खोया नहीं जा सकता है, तब तो उद्धार पाए हुए व्यक्ति को पाप करने का ‘लाइसेंस’ मिल गया है, क्योंकि अब वह निश्चिन्त होकर पाप कर सकता है, बिना किसी दुष्परिणाम की चिंता किए; क्योंकि उसका उद्धार तो कभी जाएगा नहीं। लेकिन जैसा हमने पिछले लेख में देखा है, परमेश्वर ने कभी भी, कहीं भी, यह नहीं कहा है कि उद्धार पाने के बाद मनुष्य अपने कार्यों के लिए कभी जवाबदेह नहीं होगा। पापों के लिए परमेश्वर की क्षमा हमेशा उपलब्ध रहती है, किन्तु साथ ही उसके पथ-भ्रष्ट बच्चों के लिए उसकी ताड़ना भी हमेशा उपलब्ध रहती है। आवश्यकता पड़ने पर वह उनकी ताड़ना, यहाँ तक की भारी ताड़ना भी करता है; मूसा (व्यवस्थाविवरण 3:23-27) और दाऊद (2 शमूएल 12:9-14) जैसे लोग भी अनाज्ञाकारिता करने के लिये उसकी ताड़ना से नहीं बचे।

दूसरा तर्क जो शैतान लेकर आता है, वह है कि उद्धार पाने के बाद, अब यह मनुष्य पर अनिवार्य हो जाता है कि अपने इस स्तर को, अच्छा बनकर अपने अच्छे कर्मों से, बना कर रखे। लेकिन बाइबल में यह बात भी कहीं नहीं लिखी गई है; यह भी शैतानी प्रभाव में आकर मनुष्यों की कोरी कल्पना मात्र है। इसके विपरीत, जैसा की हमने पिछले लेख में देखा है, प्रेरित पौलुस (रोमियों 7:15-24) और यूहन्ना (1 यूहन्ना 1:8-10) के उदाहरण बड़े स्पष्ट और बिना किसी असमंजस के साफ़ दिखाते हैं कि परमेश्वर के उद्धार पाए हुए बच्चों को भी परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह और क्षमा की निरंतर आवश्यकता बनी रहती है। शैतान का यह तर्क उसकी एक युक्ति है मनुष्य को “कर्मों द्वारा धर्मी बनने” की व्यर्थ बात में उलझाने और फंसाने के लिए जिससे वह परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के साथ समय नहीं बिता सके, उस से सीख नहीं सके, और फिर उसके लिए सुसमाचार प्रचार का या अन्य कोई कार्य नहीं कर सके, उसके लिए उपयोगी नहीं बन सके।

तीसरा, यद्यपि वे लोग जो उद्धार खोया जा सकता है के पक्ष में बोलते हैं, वे अपने दावे के समर्थन के लिए बाइबल में से कुछ पद और खण्ड तो दिखाते हैं। किन्तु यदि उन पदों और खण्डों का उनके सन्दर्भ में तथा बाइबल के अन्य भागों के साथ मिलाकर अध्ययन किया जाए तो यह प्रकट हो जाता है कि उनके तर्क बाइबल के लेखों की गलत व्याख्या और दुरुपयोग हैं। साथ ही, सम्पूर्ण बाइबल में कहीं पर भी किसी के भी द्वारा उद्धार खो देने का कोई भी उदाहरण नहीं है। क्योंकि यह इतना महत्वपूर्ण तर्क है, जो व्यक्ति के अनन्तकाल के भविष्य को ही बदल देता है, इसलिए यही अपेक्षा रखी जाती है कि परमेश्वर इसके बारे में बिलकुल स्पष्ट होगा, कुछ उदाहरणों के द्वारा उसे दिखाएगा और समझाएगा, इस बात को किसी के द्वारा बाइबल के पदों को उनके सन्दर्भ से बाहर लेकर की गई व्याख्या पर नहीं छोड़ देगा। किन्तु उद्धार के खोए जा सकने के तर्क के विपरीत, हम बाइबल में जो देखते हैं वह है कि, सम्पूर्ण बाइबल में परमेश्वर बारंबार यह दिखाता और आश्वासन देता आ रहा है कि यद्यपि वह पाप और बुराई को दंड देगा, अपने लोगों, अपने बच्चों की भी ताड़ना करेगा; और यदि आवश्यक हुआ तो बहुत कठोर होकर घोर ताड़ना भी करेगा; किन्तु कभी भी, किसी भी परिस्थिति में, उन्हें जिन्हें उस ने अपना बना लिया है, न तो छोड़ेगा और न त्यागेगा। यद्यपि परमेश्वर के लोग उसे जवाबदेह हैं, और निश्चय ही उन्हें अपने जीवनों का हिसाब उसे देना होगा, ताकि उनके अनुसार अपने प्रतिफल पाएँ (रोमियों 14:10; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10); किन्तु वे कभी भी, किसी भी तरीके से, किसी के भी द्वारा, उससे अलग करके ले जाए नहीं जा सकते हैं (यूहन्ना 10:28-29)।

इसलिए, किसी भी रीति से देखें, उद्धार खोया जा सकता है प्रचार करने और सिखाने की यह शैतानी युक्ति न तो सत्य है और न ही बाइबल के अनुसार है; चाहे इसे सिखाने वाला कोई भी परमेश्वर का प्रतिबद्ध जन, कलीसिया का प्रमुख व्यक्ति या अगुवा, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि में से कोई क्यों न हो। यह इस बात को दिखाता है कि शैतान अपनी दुष्ट चालों को सफल बनाने के लिए परमेश्वर के धर्मी लोगों का भी अधर्मी रीति से, बाइबल के लेखों और तथ्यों का बाइबल के विपरीत रीति से उपयोग कर सकता है और करता भी है, चाहे उसे परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के प्रमुख लोगों तथा अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि के द्वारा ही अपना दुष्ट काम क्यों न करवाना पड़े। अगले लेख में हम पवित्र शास्त्र के लेखों में जोड़ने या घटाने के उदाहरणों से बाइबल के लेखों में फेर-बदल के बारे में देखेंगे।

Altering God’s Word - 13

 

In the last few articles, to illustrate how Satan induces people to use a Biblical text in an unBiblical way, we have been considering about a very commonly seen and accepted notion amongst Christians, that salvation can be lost and it has to be maintained by being good and doing good, i.e., by works; but Biblically it is an absolutely incorrect concept. To understand why Biblically this concept is wrong, in the preceding articles we have seen from God’s Word the Bible what it means to be saved or Born-Again; that it is not familial, and how no human work or effort of any kind neither is ever involved, nor contributes in any manner to a person’s salvation. It is purely and totally the work of God’s grace towards the person, as an individual. We then saw the meanings and implications of accepting the notion that salvation can be lost, and how accepting this idea, hits at the very basic characteristics of God, at God being God; and is therefore absolutely untenable. Today we will conclude on how Satan misuses Biblical facts and texts inappropriately to convince people into believing that accepting the argument of salvation can be lost is logical and acceptable.

The basic argument misused by Satan is that if salvation is eternal, and can never be lost, then the saved person has now got a ‘licence to sin’, since he can sin with impunity, with no fear of any consequences; since his salvation will never be lost. But as we have seen in the previous article, God has nowhere ever said that after salvation man will never be accountable for his deeds. God’s forgiveness for sins is always available, but so is His chastisement for His wayward children. Whenever necessary He chastens His children, if required quite severely; even people like Moses (Deuteronomy 3:23-27) and David (2 Samuel 12:9-14) were not spared retribution for disobedience.

The second argument that Satan brings is that once being saved, it is now binding upon man that he should maintain this status by being good and doing good. But the Bible does not say this anywhere, it is a figment of man’s imagination under satanic influences. On the contrary, as we have seen in the previous article, the examples of the Apostles, Paul (Romans 7:15-24) and John (1 John 1:8-10), show very clearly and unambiguously that even the saved children of God continually need God’s grace and forgiveness for their sins. This is just another of Satan’s ploys to drive man into getting entangled in the vanity of “righteousness by works”, instead of spending time with God, His Word, learning from Him, and then working for Him to spread the gospel or in some other manner, and being fruitful for Him.

Thirdly, although those who argue in favor of salvation can be lost, do show some Biblical verses to substantiate their claims. But if these verses are studied in their context and along with other relevant Bible passages, it becomes clear that their argument is a misinterpretation and misuse of Biblical text. Moreover, there is no example in the whole of the Bible of any one ever losing their salvation. Since this is such a crucial argument, that entirely changes one’s eternal future, it is only to be expected that God would be very clear about this, see to it that there is no ambiguity about it, and illustrate it through some examples, instead of leaving it on someone’s interpretation of some Biblical verses taken out of context. But, on the contrary what we see is that God keeps assuring and illustrating throughout the Bible, that though He will punish sin and iniquity, chastise even in His people, His children; and if required do this with considerable severity; but He will never, under any circumstance, neither leave nor forsake those whom He has accepted as His own. Though God’s people are accountable to Him and will surely have to give an account of their lives to Him, and receive their rewards accordingly (Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10); but they can never, by any means, ever be taken away from Him by anyone (John 10:28-29).

Hence, whichever way we look at it, this satanic ploy of preaching and teaching that salvation can be lost is just not true, not Biblical; no matter which God’s committed Believer, Church leader or elder, Bible preacher or teacher may say it. It shows how Satan can misuse God’s people in an ungodly way, and Biblical texts and facts in an unBiblical way, to suit his nefarious purposes; even by getting it done by God’s committed Believers, Church leaders and elders, Bible preachers and teachers, etc. In the next article we will look at examples from the Bible of alteration of Scriptural text by adding to it, or taking away from it.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
