परमेश्वर के वचन से उचित व्यवहार – 18
पौलुस से परमेश्वर के वचन के उपयोग और व्यवहार को सीखते हुए, पिछले लेख में हमने बाइबल के एक नए खण्ड, 2 कुरिन्थियों 4:1-5 को देखना आरम्भ किया है। इस खण्ड के पहले पद को देखने में, उसकी पृष्ठभूमि को समझने के लिए पिछले लेख में हमने 2 कुरिन्थियों 3:12 में से पौलुस द्वारा कही गई बात, “हियाव के साथ बोलना” के तात्पर्य को देख और समझा था। हमने देखा था कि यद्यपि पौलुस कोई अच्छा वक्ता नहीं था, लेकिन फिर भी पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई और सामर्थ्य से वह स्पष्ट, सरल, सीधी भाषा का, बिना किसी भी हिचकिचाहट के उपयोग करता था, और अपनी सेवकाई में बहुत प्रभावी था (2 कुरिन्थियों 10:1, 10)। यह हमारे सामने परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रभावी उपयोग के लिए एक और पक्ष को रखता है – पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य और अगुवाई में होकर, स्पष्ट, सरल, सीधी भाषा का, बिना किसी भी हिचकिचाहट के उपयोग करना।
पौलुस 2 कुरिन्थियों 4:1 में परमेश्वर की उसकी सेवकाई के बारे में कुछ और बातें भी बताता है। वह यहाँ पर तीन बातें कहता है – पहली, वह जो करता था, वह परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई उसकी सेवकाई थी; दूसरी, क्योंकि पौलुस ने अपने परिवर्तन से पहले परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध किए गए उसके कार्यों के लिए परमेश्वर से दण्ड नहीं वरन दया प्राप्त की थी, इसलिए वह अपने चुने और सेवकाई के लिए बुलाए जाने में परमेश्वर की दया और अनुग्रह के एहसास के साथ सेवा करता था; तीसरी, पौलुस अपनी सेवकाई ‘बिना हियाव छोड़े’ करता था।
उसके पहले कथन के विषय, हम पहले के लेखों में देख चुके हैं कि किस प्रकार से पौलुस अपनी सेवकाई का परमेश्वर के द्वारा निर्धारित किए जाने और सौंपे जाने के बारे में अवगत भी था और दृढ़ भी। और इसी प्रकार से परमेश्वर ने अपनी सभी नया जन्म पाई हुई मसीही विश्वासी संतानों के लिए भी सेवकाई निर्धारित की और सौंपी है (इफिसियों 2:10)। इसीलिए पौलुस अपनी सेवकाई के लिए खराई से परिश्रम करता था, परमेश्वर ने उसे जो सौंपा था उसे पूरा करता था (1 कुरिन्थियों 15:10)। पौलुस अपने ही विचारों और समझ के अनुसार कोई सेवकाई निर्धारित कर के, और बोलने के लिये स्वयं ही शब्दों को गढ़ कर, फिर उन के अनुसार काम कर के, उसे परमेश्वर पर नहीं थोप देता था। वह यह अनुचित आशा कदापि नहीं रखता था कि परमेश्वर उसके प्रत्येक किये और कहे गए को स्वीकार करने, और उस सब के लिए उसे आशीष एवं प्रतिफल देने के लिए बाध्य है।
दूसरा, जैसा पौलुस के साथ था, और जैसा उसने 1 कुरिन्थियों 9:19-27; 15:9-10 में अपने कार्य के बारे में कहा है, उसी प्रकार से प्रभु के लिए हमारी सेवकाई में भी, प्रभु द्वारा हमें सौंपे गए कार्य के लिए, हमें भी कभी इस तथ्य को नहीं भुलाना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर ने अपनी दया में होकर हमें बचाया है, अपनी करुणा और अनुग्रह में हमें अनन्त काल के विनाश से खींच कर निकाला है। साथ ही, यद्यपि हम अपने किसी भी कार्य, किसी भी योग्यता से परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न नहीं कर सकते थे, हमारे ‘धार्मिकता के कार्य’ भी उसकी दृष्टि में मैले चिथड़ों के समान हैं (यशायाह 64:6) और यद्यपि हमारी स्वाभाविक मनसा भला नहीं बल्कि केवल बुरा ही करने की रहती है (भजन 53:2-3; सभोपदेशक 9:3), फिर भी परमेश्वर ने हमें अपने कार्य के लिए उपयोग करने के लिए चुना है। इसीलिए, यह हमारे लिए अनिवार्य है कि हम अपनी सेवकाई को परिश्रम और खराई से करें, जैसे पौलुस किया करता था, न कि लापरवाही से उसे हल्के में लेते हुए। जो लोग उसके द्वारा दिए गए वरदानों और सामर्थ्य के प्रति लापरवाह रहते हैं, उन्हें उपयुक्त रीति से उपयोग नहीं करते हैं, परमेश्वर फिर उनका मार्गदर्शन भी नहीं करता है, तथा उन्हें और अधिक सामर्थ्य भी प्रदान नहीं करता है। इसीलिए, पौलुस के समान, हमें भी परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के साथ समय बिताने वाला, और हमें सौंपे गए कार्यों को खरे प्रयासों के साथ पूरा करने वाला होना चाहिए।
तीसरा, परमेश्वर के लिए हमारी सेवकाई, किसी न किसी रीति से शैतान और उसकी सामर्थ्य के साथ एक युद्ध है (इफिसियों 6:12), और प्रभु की सेवकाई के दौरान हमें क्लेशों और समस्याओं में से होकर निकलना ही पड़ेगा (फिलिप्पियों 1:29); यह कभी भी सहज और आरामदेह नहीं होगी। शैतान की शक्तियों के विरुद्ध हमारे संघर्ष में, निराशा, शैतान द्वारा मसीही विश्वासियों के विरुद्ध उपयोग किया जाने वाला एक प्रबल हथियार है। उस पर विजयी होने का सर्वोत्तम तरीका है अपने खरे परिश्रम के परिणामों को प्रभु के हाथों में छोड़ देना, न कि परिणामों को लेकर व्यथित होना, चिंता करना (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:6-8; 15:58)। इसका आधारभूत विचार है, हमें परमेश्वर ने चुना है, उसी ने कार्य के लिए नियुक्त किया है, उस कार्य के उपयुक्त सामर्थ्य प्रदान की है, वही हमारा मार्गदर्शन करता है, और परमेश्वर ही आशीष और परिणाम भी देगा; अब क्योंकि सभी कुछ परमेश्वर ही के हाथों में है, हमारे हाथों में कुछ नहीं है, तो फिर परिणामों की चिंता क्यों करना, जबकि वे किसी भी प्रकार से हमारे हाथों में हैं ही नहीं? हमारा काम है खराई और परिश्रम से अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी का निर्वाह करना है; और जब तक हम वह ठीक से करते रहते हैं, हमें और किसी बात की चिन्ता करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Appropriately Handling God’s Word – 18
In learning from Paul about how to utilize and handle the Word of God, since the previous article we have started considering a new passage from the Bible, 2 Corinthians 4:1-5. As a background to considering verse 1 of this passage, we had seen about Paul’s use of the phrase “boldness of speech” from 2 Corinthians 3:12. We had seen that despite not being an eloquent speaker, Paul under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit used plain, simple, straightforward language, unhesitatingly, and was very effective in his ministry (2 Corinthians 10:1, 10). This places before us another aspect of utilizing God’s Word effectively – use plain, simple, straightforward language, confidently, under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit.
In 2 Corinthians 4:1, Paul states some other things about his serving God. He says three things in this verse – first, what he was doing was his God given ministry; second, since Paul had received mercy and not retribution from the Lord for the deeds he had done against Him before his conversion, therefore he served with the realization of God’s grace and mercy in choosing and calling him for His service; thirdly, Paul fulfilled his ministry without ‘losing heart’, i.e., getting discouraged.
Regarding his first statement, we have seen in the earlier articles, how Paul was aware and sure of the ministry God had given to him; as God has given to all of His children, the Born-Again Christian Believers (Ephesians 2:10). Therefore, he ‘labored more abundantly’ to fulfil that which God had asked him to do (1 Corinthians 15:10). Paul never devised his own plans and ideas, nor the words he would say, then worked according to them, imposing them upon God for acceptance. Paul never labored with the assumption that God is under some kind of compulsion to accept whatever he spoke or did on his own, and will necessarily have to bless and reward him, for whatever he said or did.
Secondly, as was with Paul, and as he states it in 1 Corinthians 9:19-27; 15:9-10 about his working, similarly for us as well, in our service for the Lord, in fulfilling our God assigned ministry, we too should never lose sight of the fact that God in His mercy, has saved us, has drawn us out of eternal destruction in His love and grace towards us. Moreover, despite our being incapable of pleasing God through anything in us, since even our ‘works of righteousness’ are as filthy rags in the sight of God (Isaiah 64:6) and although our natural inclination is only to do evil not good (Psalm 53:2-3; Ecclesiastes 9:3), still, God has decided to use us for His work. He has placed His precious treasure in us earthen vessels (2 Corinthians 4:7). Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to labor diligently to fulfil our ministry, like Paul did, instead of being casual and careless about it. God will not guide and empower those who do not value His gifts and are not willing to use them worthily. Hence, like Paul, we too should be willing to spend time with God and His Word, and put in sincere efforts to carry out our assignments.
Thirdly, our ministry for God is, in one way or another, a battle against Satan and his powers (Ephesians 6:12), and we will have to pass through sufferings and problems (Philippians 1:29) in our service for the Lord; it will never be a cake-walk. In our struggle against the powers of evil, discouragement is often a potent weapon used by Satan against the Believers. The best way to overcome it is to leave the outcome of our sincere and diligent service in the hands of the Lord, instead of fretting about the results (1 Corinthians 3:6-8; 15:58). The underlying thought is, God has chosen us, God has appointed us, God has empowered us, God guides us, God will give the results and blessings; since everything is in God’s hands, nothing is in our hands, then, why worry about the results that in any way are not in our hands? Our work is to labor diligently and sincerely; and so long as we do that worthily, there is no need to worry about anything else.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
