पिछले लेख से हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-2 से सुसमाचार में स्थिर खड़े रहने और उसे दृढ़ता से थामे रखने की अनिवार्यता के बारे में विचार करना आरम्भ किया है। क्योंकि वास्तविक और बाइबल के अनुसार सुसमाचार परमेश्वर के द्वारा दिया गया है, परमेश्वर के वचन का एक भाग है, इसलिए उसे भी वही ध्यान, आदर, और आज्ञाकारिता प्रदान करनी है, जो परमेश्वर के वचन के किसी अन्य भाग को दी जाती है। जिस प्रकार से बाइबल के अनुसार सच्चे पश्चाताप के चिह्न हैं परमेश्वर के वचन के द्वारा कायल होना, जीवन में प्रकट परिवर्तन होना और परमेश्वर के वचन की आज्ञाकारिता में चलने लगना, तथा औरों को भी पश्चाताप के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने वाला बन जाना, जैसे कि हमने राजा योशिय्याह के जीवन से 2 इतिहास 34 से देखा था; उसी प्रकार से 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-2 में वास्तविकता में सुसमाचार को ग्रहण करने और उससे उद्धार पाया हुआ होने के बाइबल में दिए गए चिह्न हैं, सभी परिस्थितियों और हर बात में सुसमाचार में स्थिर खड़े रहना, और परमेश्वर के वचन को थामे रहना; और इसका प्रमाण है नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी की आत्मिक बढ़ोतरी होती चले जाना। डिनॉमिनेशन की पुस्तक से रीति के अनुसार, सिद्धान्त को, पश्चाताप और अंगीकार की प्रार्थना को, परमेश्वर के प्रति समर्पण को पढ़ते रहना वास्तविक पश्चाताप और सच में सुसमाचार को ग्रहण करना नहीं है। यह इस बात से भी प्रमाणित होता है कि जो लोग इसे जीवन पर्यन्त करते चले आए हैं, उनके आत्मिक जीवन निष्क्रिय, उनके जीवन सँसार के लोगों के जीवन के अनुरूप, और प्रभु के लिए निष्फल बने रहते हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने इसके बारे में प्रभु द्वारा मत्ती 13:3-9, 18-23 में दिए गए बीज बोने वाले के दृष्टान्त से समझा था; बीज बोने वाले ने 4 प्रकार की भूमि पर बीज बोया, किन्तु फल केवल एक ही प्रकार की भूमि से प्राप्त हुआ, और केवल उसी फलवन्त भूमि को ही प्रभु के द्वारा अच्छी भूमि कहा गया। आज हम एक और उदाहरण देखेंगे, उन लोगों का जो प्रभु के अनुयायी होने का दावा तो करते थे, किन्तु अन्ततः उनकी वास्तविकता प्रकट हो गई, और वे प्रभु से दूर हो गए।
हम यूहन्ना 6:60, 66 में देखते हैं कि प्रभु द्वारा उसकी देह और लहू को लेने से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाओं के कारण, जो प्रभु द्वारा बाद में स्थापित किये गए प्रभु भोज का प्ररूप था, “इस पर उसके चेलों में से बहुतेरे उलटे फिर गए और उसके बाद उसके साथ न चले” (यूहन्ना 6:66)। ध्यान कीजिए, लिखा है “उसके चेलों में से बहुतेरे” थोड़े से नहीं बहुतेरे जो उसके शिष्य माने और जाने जाते थे; वे उलटे फिर गए, अर्थात इसके बाद फिर उसके साथ नहीं चले; तात्पर्य यह कि इस घटना से पहले, वे प्रभु के साथ उसके शिष्यों के समान चला करते थे, और अब अलग हो गए। जब यह हुआ, “तब यीशु ने उन बारहों से कहा, क्या तुम भी चले जाना चाहते हो? शमौन पतरस ने उसको उत्तर दिया, कि हे प्रभु हम किस के पास जाएं? अनन्त जीवन की बातें तो तेरे ही पास हैं। और हम ने विश्वास किया, और जान गए हैं, कि परमेश्वर का पवित्र जन तू ही है” (यूहन्ना 6:67-69)। पतरस के प्रत्युत्तर से हमें वे कारण मिलते हैं जिनके कारण वह तथा अन्य, उसके द्वारा “हम” के उपयोग पर ध्यान कीजिए, प्रभु को छोड़ने वालों के समान उलटे फिर कर नहीं चले गए, और यही कारण आज हम पर भी वैसे ही लागू हैं। पतरस हमें तीन कारण देता है जिनके द्वारा वह तथा अन्य निश्चित जानते थे कि प्रभु यीशु का कोई विकल्प नहीं है; ऐसा अन्य कोई भी नहीं है जिसके पास वे उद्धार और अनन्त जीवन के लिए जाएँ। और बाद में, प्रेरितों 4:12 में पतरस इसी बात को धर्म के अगुवों के सामने दोहराता है, “और किसी दूसरे के द्वारा उद्धार नहीं; क्योंकि स्वर्ग के नीचे मनुष्यों में और कोई दूसरा नाम नहीं दिया गया, जिस के द्वारा हम उद्धार पा सकें।”
तो वे तीन कारण क्या हैं, जिन्हें पतरस कहता है, जिनके कारण वह और अन्य प्रभु के शिष्य बने रहे, औरों के समान प्रभु से दूर नहीं गए? सबसे पहला कारण पतरस का यीशु को “हे प्रभु” कहकर सम्बोधित करना; अर्थात, उसने तथा औरों ने प्रभु के प्रति एक सम्पूर्ण और सच्चा समर्पण कर दिया था, उसे अपने जीवन का स्वामी और उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण कर लिया था, और इसीलिए पतरस अपने प्रत्युत्तर का आरम्भ यीशु के साथ अपने इस सम्बन्ध को आधार बना कर करता है। यद्यपि इस समय पर यहूदा इस्करियोती उनके साथ था जो प्रभु के साथ रह गए थे, किन्तु अन्ततः यह प्रकट हो गया कि यीशु उसका प्रभु नहीं है, और वह दूर चला गया। हाँ, पतरस ने ठोकर खाई, कमज़ोर पड़ गया, और अपने दावों के बावजूद प्रभु को छोड़ दिया और भाग गया; लेकिन ध्यान कीजिए कि यूहन्ना 18:15-16 में पतरस और “दूसरा चेला” – माना जाता है कि यह स्वयं यूहन्ना ही था, केवल ये दोनों ही अपनी जान को जोखिम में डालकर महायाजक के घर में गए जहाँ पर प्रभु को ले जाया गया था। यद्यपि वहीं पर पतरस ने प्रभु का इनकार किया, लेकिन उसने पश्चाताप भी किया और उसे उसकी सेवकाई में बहाल भी किया गया। तो पहला कारण है प्रभु यीशु के प्रति एक वास्तविक और सच्चे मन से किया गया समर्पण। दूसरा कारण है, पतरस और अन्य शिष्य विश्वास करते थे और इसका अंगीकार करते थे कि केवल यीशु ही के पास, यीशु के अतिरिक्त और किसी के भी पास अनन्त जीवन की बातें नहीं हैं। यीशु कई देवी-देवताओं में से एक नहीं है, वरन वही एकमात्र परमेश्वर है जिसके पास अनन्त जीवन की बातें हैं। इसलिए, चाहे वे वह समझ न पाएँ कि प्रभु यीशु क्या कह रहा है, लेकिन प्रभु कभी कुछ गलत या अनुचित नहीं कहेगा, और वह जो भी कहेगा, उसे स्वीकार करना, उस पर विश्वास करना, और उसका पालन किया जाना अनिवार्य है। तीसरा कारण था कि वे उसके ईश्वरत्व के प्रति पूर्णतः निश्चित थे, वे जानते थे कि वही “परमेश्वर का पवित्र जन” है, जिसके बारे में पवित्र शास्त्र बात करता है, जिसकी भविष्यवाणी की गई थी, जो उनके मध्य में उनके साथ रहने वाला अवतरित परमेश्वर है।
तो, यहाँ पर दिए गए तीन मापदण्ड जो सच्चे और झूठे शिष्यों के मध्य भिन्नता को प्रकट करते हैं, वे हैं:
प्रभु यीशु के प्रति एक सम्पूर्ण और सच्चा समर्पण, उसे अपने जीवन का स्वामी और उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण कर लेना।
प्रभु जो भी कहे उसमें पूर्ण और अडिग विश्वास रखना और उसकी हर बात का पालन करने की मनसा रखना; हर बात के लिए, सभी परिस्थितियों में, चाहे उसकी शिक्षाएँ मानवीय बुद्धि और समझ से तर्कसंगत, स्वीकार्य, या समझ में आने वाली हों य न हों, उसका आज्ञाकारी होना। इसे बेहतर समझने के लिए सम्पूर्ण बाइबल में परमेश्वर के सभी आश्चर्यकर्मों के बारे में विचार कीजिए; क्या उनमें से कोई भी संभावित और संभव लगता था? किन्तु वे सभी केवल इसलिए हुए क्योंकि कि किसी ने यह विश्वास किया कि क्योंकि यह परमेश्वर ने कहा है, इसलिए अवश्य ही होगा, और विश्वास के अन्तर्गत कार्य किया। जब विश्वासियों में ऐसा विश्वास होता है, तब परमेश्वर भी उसके अनुसार कार्य करता है।
प्रभु यीशु मसीह के ईश्वरत्व को स्वीकार करना, उसके “परमेश्वर का पवित्र जन” होने को, अर्थात अवतरित परमेश्वर होने को, जिसके लिए कुछ भी असंभव नहीं है और जिसके पास अनन्त जीवन है; और फिर अपना जीवन इस विश्वास के अनुसार व्यतीत करना कि परमेश्वर उनके साथ है, वे परमेश्वर के साथ हैं।
अगले लेख में हम बाइबल से उन लोगों के उदाहरणों को देखना ज़ारी रखेंगे जो प्रभु यीशु मसीह के शिष्य होने का दावा तो करते थे, किन्तु वास्तविकता में थे नहीं, और अन्ततः उनकी वास्तविकता प्रकट हो गई। तब तक, उपरोक्त तीन मापदन्डों के आधार पर अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देखिए कि आप विश्वास में हैं कि नहीं (2 कुरिन्थियों 13:5)।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 33
Since the last article we have started to consider from 1 Corinthians 15:1-2, the necessity of standing firm in, and holding fast to the gospel. Since the true Biblical gospel is God given, is a part of the God given Word, therefore, it has to be given the same considerations, honor, and obedience, as is given to any other part of God’s Word. Just as the Biblical signs of true repentance, as seen from the life of King Josiah in 2 Chronicles 34, are being convicted by God’s Word, an evident transformation towards a godly life in obedience to God’s Word, and developing a desire to encourage others to repent; similarly, from 1 Corinthians 15:1-2, the Biblical signs of having truly accepted the gospel and being saved by that, are standing firm in the gospel, and holding fast to God’s Word in all situations and under all circumstances; and is evidenced by the evident spiritual growth of the truly Born-Again Christian Believer. The ritualistic, reading and repetition of creeds, prayers of repentance and confession, and speaking out submission to the Lord from the denominational books do not constitute true repentance and actual acceptance of the gospel. This is proven by the fact that the spiritual lives of those who have been doing it all their lives remain spiritually static, conforming to the ways of the world, and barren for the Lord. In the last article, we had understood about this from the Lord’s parable of the sower of the seed given in Matthew 13:3-9, 18-23; the sower sowed the seed in 4 kinds of ground, but there was fruit from only one kind of ground, and only the fruitful ground has been called the good ground by the Lord. Today, we will see another example of people who claimed to be followers of the Lord, but eventually they fell away and their reality was exposed.
In John 6:60, 66 we find that because of the Lord’s teachings about partaking His body and blood, His referring to the Holy Communion which He was going to institute in the days ahead, “From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more” (John 6:66). Take note, it says “many of His disciples” not a few but many of those who were known and accepted as His disciples; and they no longer walked with Him, implying that prior to this incidence, they had been walking with the Lord as people who had become His disciples. When this happened, “Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?" But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also, we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God"” (John 6:67-69). We have from Peter’s response, the reasons that kept him and others, he uses “we” not “I,” from turning away and going back like those who left the Lord at that time, and are equally applicable to us today. Peter gives three reasons that compelled him to believe that there is no alternative to the Lord Jesus; that there simply is no one else to whom they can go for salvation and eternal life; and later Peter reiterated this before the religious leaders in Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
So, what are the three reasons that Peter gave, reasons that kept him and others as disciples of Christ when others walked away from the Lord? The first reason is Peter’s acknowledgement of who the Lord Jesus was to him and the others who stayed back – “Lord;” i.e., they had sincerely made a full and complete surrender to the Lord, had accepted Jesus as their Lord and savior, and begins his response by making apparent this basis of his relationship with the Lord Jesus. Although, at this time Judas Iscariot was amongst those who stayed back, but eventually it became apparent that Jesus was not his Lord, he fell away. Yes, Peter did falter, did become weak, did leave the Lord, and run away despite the tall claims he made; but recall that in John 18:15-16, Peter, and “another disciple” – believed to be John himself, were the only two, who took the risk to their lives and went to the house of the high priest, where Jesus was taken. Though there Peter denied the Lord, but he also repented and was restored by the Lord’s to his ministry. So, the first reason is a true heartfelt submission and surrender to the Lord Jesus. The second reason is, Peter and others believed and acknowledged that Jesus and Jesus alone had the words of eternal life. Jesus was not one among the many deities, but was the one and only one who had the words of eternal life. Therefore, whether or not they could understand what the Lord was saying, yet, it could not be wrong or inappropriate, and it had to worthy of accepting, believing, and obeying. The third reason was that they were sure of His deity, of who He was – “the Christ, the Son of the living God” the one who had been spoken of in the Scriptures, had been prophesied about, who was God incarnate living amongst them.
So, the three criteria that serve to differentiate a true disciple from a false one, as given here, are:
· A total and complete surrender to the Lord Jesus, accepting Him as the Lord and master of one’s life.
· Complete, unwavering faith in the Lord for whatever He says and asks to be done, in all situations and under all circumstances, whether or not His teachings and commandments seem logical, acceptable, or understandable by human wisdom and understanding. To better understand this, consider any of the miracles of God in the entire Bible; did any of them seem probable or possible, when God spoke for them? But they all happened because someone believed that they will happen because God has said so, and acted upon God’s Word in faith. When Believers have such a faith, God acts accordingly in their lives.
· Acceptance of the deity of the Lord Jesus, to His being “the Christ, the Son of the living God” and therefore God incarnate, the Creator, for whom nothing is impossible, and with whom is eternal life; and living their lives knowing that God is with them and they are with God, always.
In the next article, we will continue considering Biblical examples of those who claimed to be the disciples of the Lord Jesus, but actually were not, and eventually were exposed. Till then, examine your life, on the basis of the above three criteria, to ascertain if you actually are in the Faith or not (2 Corinthians 13:5).
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
