पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा था,जैसा कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने मत्ती 22:21 में कहा है,  पृथ्वी और स्वर्ग के मानकों और गुणों में भिन्नता है। यद्यपि पृथ्वी के गुण और मानक पृथ्वी पर के कार्यों के लिये अनिवार्य और आवश्यक हैं, परन्तु परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने और उसकी दृष्टि में भले होने के लिये, व्यक्ति को परमेश्वर के मानकों और गुणों के अनुसार भला और स्वीकार्य होना होगा। हमने यह भी देखा ठा कि मसीही विश्वास तथा मसीही विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर का वचन ही भले और बुरे के मध्य अन्तर की पहचान करवाता है, उसे परिभाषित करता है। सांसारिक मानकों और बातों के आधार पर, बाइबल के परमेश्वर का और उसकी बातों एवं निर्देशों का सही आँकलन तथा उनकी वैध समीक्षा नहीं की जा सकती है। फिर हमने देखा कि मनुष्य अपने जन्म से ही पाप के साथ संसार में प्रवेश करता है (भजन 51:5), और उसकी यह दशा उसकी मृत्यु तक उसके साथ बनी रहती है (यशायाह 64:6; रोमियों 3:10)। इसी कारण मनुष्य के जीवन भर उसमें तथा परमेश्वर के मध्य एक दूरी, एक अलगाव की स्थिति बनी रहती है (यशायाह 59:2)। इसलिए कोई भी मनुष्य अपनी स्वाभाविक, अपरिवर्तित शारीरिक दशा में, न तो परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न कर सकता है, और न ही अपनी किसी भलाई, या अपने कर्मों के द्वारा कुछ ऐसा कर सकता है कि परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बन सके। और फिर हमने देखा था कि बाइबल की परिभाषा के अनुसार केवल परमेश्वर ही है जो वास्तव में भला है (मरकुस 10:18)। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि नए नियम में प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने (मत्ती 19:17) और पुराने नियम में परमेश्वर यहोवा ने कहा है कि परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा मनुष्य जीवन में प्रवेश कर सकता है (लैव्यव्यवस्था 18:5; नहेम्याह 9:29; यहेजकेल 20:11। अब यह एक विचित्र विरोधाभास की, एक विडंबना की स्थिति को उत्पन्न करने वाली बात प्रतीत होती है। इस प्रतीत होने वाले विरोधाभास या विडंबना के समाधान के लिए हमें यह समझना आवश्यक है कि जिस व्यवस्था के पालन की बात की जा रही है, वास्तव में वह है क्या? आज से हम इसी बात पर अध्ययन आरम्भ करेंगे। 

लोगों को यह असमंजस रहता है कि जब पुराने नियम के लोगों से ज़ोर देकर उस व्यवस्था के पालन के लिए कहा गया था, उनके लिए यह करना अनिवार्य किया गया था, और साथ ही उन्हें परमेश्वर द्वारा आश्वस्त किया गया था कि व्यवस्था के पालन से वे जीवित रहेंगे, तो फिर आज हमारे जीवन पाने के लिए उसी व्यवस्था का पालन करने में क्या समस्या है? और फिर क्यों, नए नियम में, मसीही विश्वास में, यह इतना ज़ोर देकर कहा जाता है, इस बात के मानने को अनिवार्य किया जाता है कि कर्मों से, व्यवस्था के पालन से, किसी धर्म विशेष अथवा परिवार विशेष, यहाँ तक कि ईसाई धर्म और ईसाई या मसीही परिवार में भी जन्म ले लेने और उसकी मान्यताओं को निभाने से भी उद्धार या परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होना संभव ही नहीं है? क्यों सभी को पश्चाताप करना और प्रभु यीशु मसीह से पापों की क्षमा को व्यक्तिगत रीति से अपने लिए प्राप्त करना अनिवार्य कहा जाता है? परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था के होते हुए, और उसके द्वारा जीवन में प्रवेश मिलने की बात को प्रभु परमेश्वर द्वारा कहे जाने के बावजूद, क्यों यह कहा और सिखाया जाता है कि मसीही विश्वासियों को व्यवस्था के पालन की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है, व्यवस्था के पालन से कोई भी लाभ नहीं होगा, और न ही कोई परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश करने पाएगा, या परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने पाएगा?

सामान्यतः लोग समझते हैं कि व्यवस्था से अर्थ है पुराने नियम में, मूसा द्वारा लिखित पहली पाँच पुस्तकों में दिए गए भेंट, बलिदानों, पर्वों, विधियों, नियमों आदि का निर्वाह। किन्तु वास्तविकता यह है कि ये बातें व्यवस्था नहीं हैं। ये सभी बातें तो व्यवस्था के मानकों के अनुसार दोषी पाए गए मनुष्यों को उनके पाप-दोष की दशा, और उस दोष के समाधान के लिए किसी निर्दोष के उनके पापों को अपने ऊपर उठाने और उनके लिए अपना जीवन बलिदान देने को स्मरण करवाते रहने की विभिन्न प्रक्रियाएं हैं, जो प्रभु यीशु मसीह के जीवन, कार्य और बलिदान के पुराने नियम में दिए गए विभिन्न प्रतीक एवं प्ररूप हैं। ये परमेश्वर के कार्यों और गुणों को स्मरण करवाने वाली विधियाँ हैं; ये विधियाँ पाप को केवल स्मरण करवा सकती हैं, कभी पाप को हटा नहीं सकती हैं (इब्रानियों 10:3-4)। 

तो फिर व्यवस्था क्या है? प्रभु यीशु मसीह द्वारा, उनसे परमेश्वर की सबसे बड़ी आज्ञा के विषय प्रश्न करने वाले एक व्यवस्थापक को दिए गए उत्तर से ही इसे समझिए और जानिए: “उसने उस से कहा, तू परमेश्वर अपने प्रभु से अपने सारे मन और अपने सारे प्राण और अपनी सारी बुद्धि के साथ प्रेम रख। बड़ी और मुख्य आज्ञा तो यही है और उसी के समान यह दूसरी भी है, कि तू अपने पड़ोसी से अपने समान प्रेम रख। ये ही दो आज्ञाएं सारी व्यवस्था और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं का आधार है” (मत्ती 22:37-40; साथ ही यहाँ पद 35-40 + रोमियों 13:9 को भी देखिये)। व्यवस्था को और अधिक जानने और बेहतर समझने को हम अपने अगले लेख में ज़ारी रखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Law – Part 1 - Biblically, What is the Law? – 1

In previous articles we have seen, as the Lord Jesus said in Matthew 22:21, the earthly and heavenly criteria and standards are different. While earthly criteria and standards serve earthly purposes, and are necessary for them; to be acceptable to God and be good in His eyes, one has to be good and acceptable by His criteria and standards. We also saw that in the Christian faith and for the Christian Believers it is God's Word that defines good, and identifies the difference between good and bad or evil. The God of the Bible and His Word and instructions cannot be correctly evaluated and assessed on the basis of worldly standards and things. Then we saw that man, right from his birth, enters the world with sin (Psalm 51:5) and this condition remains with him till his death (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:10). That is why throughout the life of man there remains a separation between him and God (Isaiah 59:2). Therefore, no man, in his natural, unregenerate physical condition, can ever please God; neither by his goodness, nor by any of his actions, can he do anything to become acceptable to God. And then we saw that by the Biblical definition it is only God who really is good (Mark 10:18). We also saw that in the New Testament the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 19:17), and in the Old Testament the God Jehovah (Leviticus 18:5; Nehemiah 9:29; Ezekiel 20:11) have said that man can enter life by obeying God's Law. This now appears to be a strange paradox, an inexplicable situation. To solve this apparent contradiction or paradox, it is necessary for us to understand what exactly is the Law that is being talked about? We will begin studying this from today.

People are perplexed that when for Old Testament people it was made mandatory to keep that Law, it was strongly emphasized that they do so, and at the same time they were assured by God that by keeping the Law they would live, then what's the problem with our obeying and following the same Law today to get life? And then why, in the New Testament, in the Christian faith, is it emphasized so much that it is necessary to realize and accept that by good deeds, by the observance of the Law, by being born in a particular religion or family, even being born in Christian religion or in a Christian family and following its beliefs does not ever make a person saved or acceptable to God? Why is it necessary for everyone to individually repent and personally receive the forgiveness of sins from the Lord Jesus Christ? Why then is it said and taught that Christians have no need to keep the Law, despite it being God's Law, and the Lord God speaking of entering life by observing it? And why is it taught in the New Testament that no one will benefit from keeping the Law, nor by observing it will anyone be able to enter the kingdom of God, or be acceptable to God?

The general understanding of the people is that the Law of the Old Testament, means the observance of the offerings, sacrifices, festivals, statutes, ordinances given in the first five books of Moses. But the reality is that these things are not the Law. All these things are various processes of reminding us of being guilty according to the standards of the Law, about the state of our sinfulness, and the fact for us an innocent animal must bear our sins and its life be sacrificed; all of these are various symbols and forms given in the Old Testament of the life, work and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. These are rituals to remind us of the works and qualities of God. Though these rituals and methods can repeatedly remind us of our sin, but they can never permanently take away our sin (Hebrews 10:3-4).

Then what is the Law? Let us understand and learn this from the answer given by the Lord Jesus Christ to a Scribe, who asked him about the greatest commandment of God: “Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40; here, also see from 35-40 + Romans 13:9). We will continue learning more and understanding better about the Law in the next article.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

फसह तथा प्रभु की मेज़ - प्रभु परमेश्वर को आदर और महिमा देने के लिए (2)

 

       पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने मिस्र से इस्राएल के छुटकारे के समय दिए गए मेमने के बलिदान को हमेशा के लिए समस्त इस्राएलियों द्वारा उस छुटकारे को याद करने के लिए मनाए जाने वाले फसह के वार्षिक पर्व में परिवर्तित किया था। साथ ही हमने इस्राएलियों के ही व्यवहार से यह भी देखा था कि यह मानवीय प्रवृत्ति है कि वह शीघ्र ही अपनी कही बात भुला कर कुछ भिन्न ही करने लगता है। इसलिए यह स्मरण दिलाने की बात अति आवश्यक एवं महत्वपूर्ण है। प्रभु-भोज भी हमें हमारे पापों से छुटकारे के लिए प्रभु के बलिदान और पुनरुत्थान का स्मरण करवाता है, कहीं हम इस छुटकारे को अपनी धार्मिकता और कार्यों का परिणाम न समझने लगें। आज हम इसी बात को निर्गमन 12:42 से देखेंगे।

       निर्गमन 12:42 में उल्लेखित दूसरी बात है कि यहोवा परमेश्वर ही उन्हें मिस्र से निकाल कर लाया था। वे लोग अपने आप से कुछ भी नहीं करने पाए थे। हम देख चुके हैं, कि जैसे निर्गमन 1:7-12 में लिखा है, इस्राएली संख्या में मिस्रियों से अधिक हो गए थे, वे मिस्रियों से अधिक सामर्थी थे, और मिस्रियों पर उनका भय छाया हुआ था; फिर भी अपनी कुटिलता के द्वारा मिस्रियों ने इस्राएली लोगों को अपनी बंधुवाई में ले लिया, उन्हें सताने लग गए, और इस्राएली छुटकारे के लिए परमेश्वर को पुकारने लगे (निर्गमन 3:7-9)। इस्राएलियों की संख्या और सामर्थ्य उन्हें मिस्रियों की कुटिलता, बंधुवाई, और सताव से नहीं छुड़ा सकी। इसी प्रकार से मसीही विश्वासियों को भी उनकी किसी योग्यता, धर्म, धार्मिक तथा भले कामों, कैसी भी “धार्मिकता”, आदि ने नहीं छुड़ाया और न ही उद्धार दिया है। यह केवल परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से, प्रभु यीशु के कलवरी के क्रूस पर हमारे पापों के लिए दिए गए बलिदान और उनकी कीमत के चुकाए जाने से मिली पापों की क्षमा के द्वारा संभव हुआ है (इफिसियों 2:1-9)। प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा है कि उसकी मेज़ में, उसके इसी बलिदान की याद में भाग लिया करें (लूका 22:19; 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:24-25), अर्थात, उसने जो उनके लिए किया है, उन्हें किस प्रकार अनन्त विनाश से बचाया है, उसे याद करते हुए।

        इसलिए, प्रभु भोज में सम्मिलित होना अपनी किसी “धार्मिकता”, सांसारिक ओहदे, किसी प्रकार के कार्यों, या किसी योग्यता के प्रदर्शन के लिए या घमण्ड करने के लिए नहीं है। वरन, यह अपने आप को दीन और नम्र करके उस बात को याद करना है जो प्रभु ने हमारे पापों से हमें छुड़ाने के लिए सही है; और पश्चातापी; कृतज्ञता से भरे हृदय के साथ, हमारे लिए उसके द्वारा दिए गए बलिदान को स्मरण करने के लिए है। इसी बात के कारण, प्रभु की मेज़ में सम्मिलित होना किसी को भी पवित्र, या धर्मी, या परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं बना सकता है। जैसे प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने आज्ञा दी है, यह मेज़ केवल यादगार के लिए है, न कि इस भाग लेने वालों को कुछ प्रदान करने के लिए। यह ध्यान रखते हुए कि मेज़ किस बात की यादगार के लिए है, भाग लेने वालों को इसमें नम्रता, आज्ञाकारिता, और उसके प्रति समर्पण के साथ भाग लेना है, जिसे वे याद कर रहे हैं और जिस कारण से उसे याद कर रहे हैं।  

        यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Passover & The Lord’s Table - To Honor & Exalt The Lord God (2)

 

       In the previous article we had seen that God had converted the sacrifice of the lamb done at the time of Israel's deliverance from Egypt, as an annual feast to be observed by the Israelites. We had also seen from the behavior of the Israelites, that it is a common human tendency to soon forget what they have said, and start doing things differently. Therefore, it is very important and essential to have something to keep us reminding about certain things. The Holy Communion too reminds us that we have been saved from the consequences of our sins by the sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus; lest we start thinking and believing that it is the result of our own works and righteousness. Today, we will see about this from this verse, Exodus 12:42.

       The second thing mentioned in Exodus 12:42 is that it was the Lord God who brought them out of Egypt. They could not do anything about it by themselves. We have seen, that as written in Exodus 1:7-12, that the Israelites had become more in number than the Egyptians, they were mightier than the Egyptians, and the Egyptians were in dread of them; yet because of the shrewd handling by the Egyptians, the Israelites were under oppression and were crying out to the Lord for deliverance (Exodus 3:7-9). The numbers and might of the Israelites could not deliver them from the shrewd tactics, bondage, and oppression of the Egyptians. Similarly, the Christian Believers have been redeemed and saved not by any of their capabilities, or religion, or religious and good works, or any kind of “righteousness” etc., but solely by the grace of God, through forgiveness of our sins because of the Lord Jesus having paid for them on the Cross of Calvary on our behalf (Ephesians 2:1-9). The Lord Jesus has asked His disciples to partake of His Table in remembrance of His sacrifice for them (Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25), i.e., in remembrance of what He has done for them, how He has saved them from eternal destruction.

        So, partaking of the Lord’s Table is not to show off or be proud of one’s “righteousness”, worldly status, works of any kind, or any capabilities. But it is to humble ourselves, remember and acknowledge what the Lord had to undergo to save us from our sins; and with a contrite, humble heart full of gratitude, remember His sacrifice for our sake. For this very reason the partaking in the Table cannot make anyone holy, or righteous, or acceptable to God. As decreed by the Lord Jesus, the Table is only for remembrance, and not to impart anything to the participants. In view of what it commemorates, the participants have to take part in humility, obedience and submission to the one they are remembering, and the reason He is to be remembered.

       If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

पिछले लेख में हमने निर्गमन 12:9-10 से देखा था कि क्यों बलि के मेमने को उसकी सम्पूर्णता में आग पर भूना जाना था, क्यों आग पर भूनने से पहले उसका कोई भी भाग निकालकर फेंका नहीं जा सकता था; और आज हमारे लिए इस बात का क्या महत्व है। साथ ही वचन में यह निर्देश भी है कि मिस्र से कूच करने से पहले, मेमने के शेष बचे हुए भाग को आग में जला दिया जाना था। आज हम इसी बात के तात्पर्य को, और वर्तमान में हमारे लिए इसके महत्व को देखेंगे।

        जैसा हम पहले देख चुके हैं, इस्राएलियों की मिस्र की बंधुवाई परमेश्वर के लोगों की पाप की बंधुवाई का प्रतीक है; और उनका मिस्र से छुड़ाया जाना परमेश्वर के लोगों का पाप और शैतान के चंगुल से छुड़ाए जाने का प्रतीक है। इस्राएलियों के लिए उनका फसह का मेमना उनके छुटकारे के कर्ता का सदृश्य रूप था, जिसके लहू के द्वारा इस्राएली मृत्यु से बचाए गए; मृत्यु का दूत उनके घरों पर लगे लहू को देख कर उन्हें लांघ गया, और मिस्र के शेष सभी घरों के पहलौठे मार डाले गए; और उसकी देह को खाने के द्वारा उनके लिए प्रावधान हुआ कि वे मिस्र से निकलकर एक सुरक्षित दूरी तक जाने की सामर्थ्य प्राप्त कर सके, जहां जाकर छावनी डालें और अपने आप को आगे की यात्रा के लिए तैयार करें। इस छुटकारे के प्रतीक का कोई भी भाग पीछे नहीं छोड़ा जा सकता था, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि अपनी घोर ताड़ना से खिसियाए हुए मिस्री, छुटकारे के इस प्रतीक को अपवित्र तथा अपमानित करें। इस्राएली इस बात से अनभिज्ञ थे कि परमेश्वर की योजना में वह मेमना परमेश्वर के पुत्र, संसार के पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए परमेश्वर के बलि के मेमने का प्रतीक है, और उसे किसी भी रीति से शैतानी शक्तियों और उद्धार न पाए हुए पापी मनुष्यों, जिन्होंने परमेश्वर के पुत्र की बजाए शैतानी शक्तियों के साथ जाने का निर्णय लिया है, के द्वारा अपवित्र तथा अपमानित किए जाने के लिए पीछे नहीं छोड़ा जा सकता है।

        प्रातः, रात्रि के अंत की सूचक है; तथा रात्रि और अंधकार पाप और शैतानी शक्तियों के प्रतीक हैं; और प्रभु यीशु मसीह परमेश्वर का वचन है जो देह-धारी हुआ और हमारे मध्य डेरा किया (यूहन्ना 1:1, 14)। जब नया जन्म पाए हुए परमेश्वर के संतान, कोई नामधारी, डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपराओं और रीतियों के अनुसार चलने वाले ईसाई या मसीही नहीं, इस पापमय संसार से छुड़ाए जाएंगे, अर्थात, उनका स्वर्गारोहण होगा, तब मसीह-विरोधियों के द्वारा अपवित्र और अपमानित किए जाने के लिए कुछ भी शेष नहीं होगा। परमेश्वर का वचन उठा लिया जाएगा (आमोस 8:11; 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:7); लोग परमेश्वर के वचन को खोजेंगे, किन्तु उन्हें नहीं मिलेगा; और ठीक भी है, क्योंकि जब वह उन्हें उपलब्ध था, उनके हाथों में था, तब उन्होंने उसकी कोई परवाह नहीं की, उसका आदर नहीं किया। प्रभु भोज लोगों को यह स्मरण कराता है कि परमेश्वर के लोगों के छुटकारे का समय निकट है। वह उन्हें अपने आप को जाँचने और औपचारिकता, परंपराओं, और डिनॉमिनेशन की “मसीहियत” से निकलने, जिसके कारण वे अनंत विनाश के मार्ग में हैं और अग्रसर हैं, का अवसर देता है; ताकि वे परमेश्वर के साथ अपने जीवन को सही कर सकें, उसके वचन को आदर देते हुए उसका अध्ययन करें और हर कीमत पर उसका पालन करें, इससे पहले कि बहुत देर हो जाए और उनके लिए परिस्थिति अपरिवर्तनीय हो जाए।

        ये सभी बातें स्पष्ट दिखाती हैं कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना उनके लिए नहीं है जो इसे एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता के समान लेते हैं, किन्तु उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार है। अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन 12:8-10 में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे।

        यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु की मेज़ में उसी प्रकार से भाग ले रहे हैं जैसे परमेश्वर ने निर्देश दिये हैं, प्रभु के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, बड़ी गंभीरता से मेज़ के महत्व पर मनन करते हुए; या फिर आप किसी डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा अथवा किसी के  मनमाने विचारों के अनुसार भाग ले रहे हैं? अपने आप को जांच कर देखें कि क्या आप प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तैयार हैं कि नहीं? आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे। 

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

English Translation

Exodus 12:8-10 (5) - The Lord’s Table - A Reminder of the Deliverance of God’s People (2)

 

       We had seen in the previous article from Exodus 12:9-10 why the sacrificial lamb had to be roasted on the fire in its entirety, why, before roasting it, nothing of it could be removed and discarded; and the significance of this for us today. God's Word also instructs that before departing from Egypt, the remaining part of the lamb had to be burnt. Today we will consider the implication of this, and also its significance for us today.

        As we have seen earlier, the Egyptian bondage of the Israelites is indicative of the bondage of God’s people to sin; and their deliverance from Egypt, as representative of deliverance from sin and Satan. To the Israelites, this Passover lamb was the visible form of the agent of their deliverance, through whose blood the Israelites were “passed over”, or, escaped being killed by the Angel of death going through the land of Egypt and killing the firstborns in all the houses where the sign of the blood was not found; and their eating of it’s body gave them the sustenance for strength to move out of Egypt, till a safe distance, to set up camp and prepare themselves for the journey ahead to the Promised Land. No part of this symbol of deliverance could be left behind, lest it be desecrated by the Egyptians irritated and smarting under the terrible impact of God’s retribution on them. The Israelites were not aware that in God’s plan of things, it was the symbolic representation of the Son of God, the Sacrificial Lamb of God for atoning the sins of mankind, and could not be left behind to be desecrated by the satanic forces and the unredeemed, sinful mankind who have chosen to follow Satan, instead of the Son of God.

        Morning signifies the end of the night; night and darkness are symbols of sin and satanic forces; and the Lord Jesus Christ, is the Word of God that became flesh and dwelt amongst us (John 1:1, 14). When the Born-Again children of God, the actual Christian Believers, not the nominal, denominational, ritualistic “christians”, are delivered from this world of sin, i.e., are raptured, there will be nothing left in this world for the anti-Christ to desecrate. The Word of God will be taken away (Amos 8:11; 2 Thessalonians 2:7); people will search for God’s Word but will not find it; rightly so, since they never bothered to honour, study, and obey it while it was in their hands. The Holy Communion reminds people that the time of deliverance for God’s people is at hand. It gives people the opportunity to examine their lives, step out of the perfunctory, ritualistic, denominational “christianity”, move away from the way of eternal destruction that they are living and traversing upon, and set things right with God, honor, study, and obey His Word at any cost, before it is too late and the situation turns irretrievable for them.

        All these things show that participating in the Holy Communion is not for those who take it as a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, but is for those who willingly have chosen to live worthy of the Lord, in obedience to His Word, and are willing to pay the price for doing so. In the next article we will carry on from here and see more from these verses, Exodus 12:8-10.

        पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि किस प्रकार बलि के सम्पूर्ण मेमने का आग पर सीधे से भूना जाना, प्रभु यीशु द्वारा, पाप के प्रति परमेश्वर के प्रकोप को  हमारे लिए झेलने का प्रतीक है। प्रभु यीशु का केवल बलिदान, अर्थात मारा जाना, ही पर्याप्त नहीं था; वरन् मरने पहले उसे पाप के दण्ड की पीड़ा को भी सहना था, तब ही उसका प्रायश्चित पूर्ण माना जाता। आज हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे और प्रभु द्वारा हमारे स्थान पर पीड़ा सहने के बारे में कुछ और बातों को देखेंगे।

        एक आम धारणा है कि जब प्रभु यीशु गतसमनी के बाग में उसके क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के लिए प्रार्थना में जूझ रहा था (मत्ती 26:36-46), तो वह उन आने वाली ताड़नाओं और यातनाओं के कारण विचलित हो रहा था। किन्तु उन्हें उस आने वाली शारीरिक पीड़ा की परवाह नहीं थी। याद कीजिए कि प्रभु क्रूस पर चढ़ाया जाने वाला पहला व्यक्ति नहीं था; उससे पहले भी कई लोग क्रूस पर मारे गए थे, और उसके साथ भी दो और डाकू क्रूस पर चढ़ाए गए थे। सभी को क्रूस पर ठोके जाने से पहले उसी ताड़ना और यातना से होकर निकालना पड़ता था जो प्रभु यीशु को सहनी पड़ी। इसलिए यह सोचना कि प्रभु यीशु क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने से संबंधित शारीरिक पीड़ा को लेकर विचलित था, जिसे उससे पहले और उसके साथ भी अन्य मनुष्यों ने सहन किया, उसके दुखों और पीड़ाओं को बहुत कम करके आँकलन करना है।

        उसका विचलित होना पूर्णतः भिन्न कारण से था। प्रभु यीशु के विषय हम 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:21 में लिखा पाते हैं कि “जो पाप से अज्ञात था, उसी को उसने हमारे लिये पाप ठहराया, कि हम उस में हो कर परमेश्वर की धामिर्कता बन जाएं।” समस्त मानव जाति के सभी पापों को अपने ऊपर लेने में परमेश्वर का सिद्ध, निष्पाप, निष्कलंक पुत्र स्वयं पाप बन गया - उसने केवल पाप के बोझ को उठा ही नहीं लिया, उस पाप से उसका शरीर केवल ढाँपा ही नहीं गया, अपितु, उसकी सिद्ध, निष्पाप देह ही पाप बन गई, वह साकार पाप बन गया। प्रभु यीशु मसीह के लिए इसका क्या अर्थ और उस दशा का उसका अनुभव कैसा दुखदायी रहा होगा, यह हमारी मानवीय समझ और कल्पना से बाहर की बात है। तुलनात्मक रीति से एक बहुत ही छोटे उदाहरण के द्वारा इसे समझने का प्रयास करें: आपको कैसा अनुभव होगा यदि गलती से मल और गंदगी से भरी नाली में आपका पैर पड़ जाए? इसमें तो केवल पैर ही गंदा हुआ है; यदि आप उस नाली में गिर जाएं और आपकी देह उस गंदगी से मलिन हो जाए, तो कैसी घिन्न आएगी, यह कितना विचलित करने वाला अनुभव होगा? प्रभु यीशु ने तो इससे भी कहीं अधिक अवर्णनीय सहा - वह जो निष्पाप था, जिसने कभी पाप को जाना ही नहीं, जिसके विचारों और भावनाओं में भी पाप नहीं था, वह पाप बन गया, उसका सारा शरीर, अन्दर-बाहर, साकार पाप बन गया। हम उसकी इस आत्मिक दशा की कल्पना भी नहीं कर सकते हैं। और तब वह हुआ जिसकी कभी कल्पना भी नहीं की जा सकती थी - परमेश्वर जो पाप को देख भी नहीं सकता है (हबक्कूक 1:13), उस ने प्रभु यीशु से अपना मुँह मोड़ लिया, उसे त्याग दिया, और प्रभु यीशु उस अवर्णनीय, मानवीय समझ तथा कल्पना से भी परे वेदना के कारण चीत्कार कर उठा “...हे मेरे परमेश्वर, हे मेरे परमेश्वर, तू ने मुझे क्यों छोड़ दिया?” (मत्ती 27:46)। गतसमनी के बाग में प्रभु यीशु मसीह इस वेदना को लेकर विचलित हो रहा था; न कि उन शारीरिक पीड़ाओं को लेकर जो उस पर आने वाली थीं।

        मेज़ को स्थापित करते समय प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा “...मेरे स्मरण के लिये यही किया करो” (लूका 22:19; 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:24-25)। अब ध्यान करें कि शैतान ने किस प्रकार से प्रभु द्वारा हमारे पापों के प्रायश्चित और कीमत चुकाने की पीड़ा को, उसे सहन करने को, हमारे विचारों में कितना कम और हल्का बना दिया है। समुदाय या डिनॉमिनेशन की शिक्षाओं के अनुसार पारंपरिक रीति से मेज़ में भाग लेते समय सामान्यतः केवल प्रभु की शारीरिक पीड़ाओं को ही स्मरण किया जाता है, दोहराया जाता है। सभी लोग यह भूल जाते हैं कि प्रभु के अतिरिक्त भी अनेकों लोगों ने क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने की उस शारीरिक पीड़ा को सहा है। इसलिए यदि प्रभु ने भी केवल उन्हीं पीड़ाओं को सहा तो इसमें कोई विशेष या अद्भुत बात नहीं है। क्रूस की यह शारीरिक पीड़ा उस आत्मिक पीड़ा के सामने कुछ भी नहीं है जिसे हमारे छुटकारे और पाप क्षमा के लिये प्रभु को सहना पड़ा; लेकिन शैतान ने लोगों के मनों को ऐसा बहका दिया है, उनकी आँखों को ऐसा अंधा कर दिया है कि प्रभु भोज के इस पारंपरिक और औपचारिक निर्वाह के समय किसी को भी प्रभु यीशु की वास्तविक वेदना का कोई ध्यान भी नहीं रहता है। इस प्रकार से शैतान ने प्रभु भोज के मुख्य भाग, उसके मर्म - प्रभु की पीड़ाओं को स्मरण करना, को निकाल कर उसके स्थान पर एक खोखली, व्यर्थ, निरर्थक, परंपरा को डाल दिया है। और जान-बूझकर इसके सत्य के प्रति उदासीन बने रहने के बावजूद लोगों में यह गुस्ताखी, यह ढिठाई है कि वे इस व्यर्थ परंपरा के निर्वाह के द्वारा भी यही मानते हैं कि वे धर्मी, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य, और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश के योग्य हैं। प्रभु भोज, या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेना उन्हीं के लिये है जो वास्तव में इस बात का ध्यान कर सकते हैं कि प्रभु ने उनके पापों से छुटकारे के लिए क्या कुछ सहा है, और उसकी तुलना में वे दुख जो उन्हें प्रभु के लिए उठाने पड़ते हैं, कितने थोड़े, हल्के, और नगण्य हैं; और उन दुखों में होकर भी हमारा प्रेमी स्वर्गीय पिता हमारे लिए अनन्तकाल की आशीषें ही प्रदान कर रहा है (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:17)।

        ये सभी बातें स्पष्ट दिखाती हैं कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना उनके लिए नहीं है जो इसे एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता के समान लेते हैं, किन्तु उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार है। अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन 12:8-10 में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु की मेज़ में उसी प्रकार से भाग ले रहे हैं जैसे परमेश्वर ने निर्देश दिये हैं, प्रभु के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, बड़ी गंभीरता से मेज़ के महत्व पर मनन करते हुए; या फिर आप किसी डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा अथवा किसी के  मनमाने विचारों के अनुसार भाग ले रहे हैं? अपने आप को जांच कर देखें कि क्या आप प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तैयार हैं कि नहीं? आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:8-10 (4) - The Lord’s Table & The Sufferings of Christ (2)

        In the last article we have seen, how the roasting of the whole of the sacrificial lamb on fire symbolized the Lord Jesus suffering the wrath of God for sin, on our behalf. The Lord's death, His sacrificing Himself, was not enough; He also had to suffer the pain of our sins before His death, only then would His atonement be considered complete. Today we will move ahead, and see some more about the sufferings of Christ.

        A common thinking is that when the Lord Jesus was agonizing in prayer about His coming crucifixion in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46), it was because of the severe physical tortures that awaited Him. But that physical suffering was the least of His problems. Remember, He was not the first one to be crucified; many had been crucified prior to Him, and two others were crucified along with Him, in just the same manner. To think and presume that the Lord Jesus was agonizing because of the physical pain of the torture that He would have to endure, is to belittle His sufferings, since many other men before and after Him endured the just the same treatment before their crucifixion.

        His agonizing was for an altogether different reason. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” In taking the sins of all of mankind upon Himself, the sinless, spotless, perfect Son of God became sin - not just took it as a heavy load upon himself, nor was He only covered on the outside with sin; but His perfect, sinless body was turned into sin, He became a personification of sin. It is beyond our human comprehension to even imagine what this would have meant for the Lord, and how He would have felt in that state. To get a miniscule idea, imagine how you feel if you accidentally happen to put your foot into a roadside drain of human waste and filth; and that is just your foot getting soiled; what if you were to fall into that drain, and your whole body got soiled, what kind of an abhorrent feeling would you have? The Lord Jesus suffered indescribably worse and more than that - He who had never known sin, not even in His thoughts or feelings, became sin - His whole body, in-toto, became sin. I don’t think we can even imagine His state at that time. Then this was compounded by the fact that when He became sin, the unimaginable happened - God who cannot look at sin (Habakkuk 1:13), turned away from Him, forsook Him, and the Lord Jesus cried out in a plea of indescribable and humanly unimaginable agony “...My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46). This is what He was agonizing about in the Garden of Gethsemane; and not the physical suffering that was coming His way.

        In establishing the Table, the Lord said to His disciples “...do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25). Consider how Satan has belittled the price the Lord had to pay and the suffering He had to endure to atone for our sins and provide the way of Salvation - very often in the denominational ritualistic manner of partaking in the Lord’s Table, only His physical sufferings are recalled and remembered. Everybody forgets that the similar agony of similar crucifixions had been endured by innumerable other people as well. Therefore, there is nothing extraordinary and unique if the Lord Jesus too suffered the same. This physical agony is nothing compared to the spiritual agony He had to undergo for our redemption, but Satan has so beguiled people’s minds and blinded their eyes that in this ritualistic, perfunctory observance of the Holy Communion, nobody bothers to remember and recall the actual agony of the Lord, and they miss out the crucial part of the observance of the Holy Communion, taking away the very heart of the matter, leaving behind an empty, vain ritual. And then people have the temerity, the gall to think they have become righteous, acceptable to God, and worthy of being given entry into heaven because of being a part of this vain inconsequential ritual! The Lord’s Table, the Holy Communion is for those who can actually think about how much the Lord has suffered to redeem them, and how miniscule, how negligible are the troubles they have been called to bear for the sake of the Lord, and even through them, our Heavenly Father is only blessing us with eternal benefits (2 Corinthians 4:17).

        All these things show that participating in the Holy Communion is not for those who take it as a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, but is for those who willingly have chosen to live worthy of the Lord, in obedience to His Word, and are willing to pay the price for doing so. In the next article we will carry on from here and see more from these verse, Exodus 12:8-10. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word, are a new creation for the Lord. That you strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church, and have been participating as the Lord has instructed to be done, participating with full allegiance to the Lord, in all seriousness, and pondering over its significance; instead of doing it in any presumptive manner, or simply as a denominational ritual; and are ready and prepared to stand before the Lord and answer for your life. It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       हम प्रभु भोज, या, प्रभु की मेज़ के बारे में यह अध्ययन पुराने नियम में दिए गए उसके प्ररूप, फसह, जिसका वर्णन निर्गमन 12 और मूसा में होकर परमेश्वर के द्वारा दी गई व्यवस्था में दिया गया है, को आधार बना कर रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु भोज, या, इस मेज़ को अपने शिष्यों के साथ फसह का भोज खाने के दौरान, उसी भोज की सामग्री के द्वारा किया था। साथ ही, न तो प्रभु यीशु ने इस मेज़ या प्रभु भोज को स्थापित करते समय, और न ही बाद में पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा और अगुवाई से नए नियम के लेखों को लिखने वाले लेखकों ने, फसह के लिये परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई विधियों या निर्देशों में से किसी एक को भी न तो रद्द किया, न उसमें कोई परिवर्तन किया, और न ही उसके स्थान पर कोई अन्य बात लागू की; वरन, सभी ने उन्हीं विधियों और निर्देशों के आधार पर ही आगे कहा। हमने यह भी देखा था कि दोनों, फसह और प्रभु भोज, परमेश्वर के लोगों के लिये दिए गए; न कि उनमें भाग लेने से कोई परमेश्वर का जन बन जात है। परमेश्वर के वचन और निर्देशों से संबन्धित यह और ऐसी ही अन्य गलत शिक्षाएं शैतान द्वारा मसीहियत में डाल दी गईं क्योंकि लोग परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करने और उसके सत्य एवं तथ्य सीखने, तथा व्यक्तिगत जीवन में उनका पालन करने और उन्हें कलीसिया के जीवन में लागू करने के प्रति उदासीन और बेपरवाह हो गए हैं। इसके स्थान पर अब लोग केवल पुल्पिट से दिए गए संदेशों को सुनने और बिना वचन से उन्हें जाँचे और उनकी पुष्टि करे, उन्हें स्वीकार करने और पालन करने वाले हो गए हैं। इस कारण से वे अब परमेश्वर की इच्छा जान कर उसे पूरा करने और परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाले होने की बजाए मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न वाले, अर्थात, उनके धार्मिक अगुवे जो भी उन्हें कहते हैं, उसी का पालन करने वाले बन गए हैं। इन बातों के कारण, प्रभु भोज के बारे में परमेश्वर के निर्देशों को सीखने और मानने की बजाए, लोग केवल एक औपचारिकता या रीति के समान प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वाले हो गए हैं; लेकिन फिर भी यही समझते और मानते हैं कि ऐसा करने से वे परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश के योग्य हो जाएंगे, जो बाइबल के अनुसार कदापि सही नहीं है। परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्गमन 12 अध्याय में दिए गए निर्देशों से हमने प्रभु भोज के अर्थ एवं महत्व के बारे में कई बातें सीखीं हैं। आज हम निर्गमन 12:7 में दिए गए परमेश्वर के अगले निर्देश के बारे में देखेंगे, और प्रभु भोज में अपने सम्मिलित होने के विषय शिक्षा लेंगे।

        निर्गमन 12:7 - पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि फसह के मेमने को महीने के चौदहवें दिन गोधूलि के समय बलि किया जाना था, और किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर के मेमने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह का क्रूस पर चढ़ाया जाना और मारा जाना इस बात को पूरा करता था।  पद 7 हमें बताता है कि मेमने के बलि किए जाने के बाद फिर आगे क्या करना था। मेमने के बलि करने पर उसका लहू बहता था। बलि चढ़ाने की उस रात्रि को, परमेश्वर का न्याय मिस्र पर, जिसने परमेश्वर के लोगों को बंधुवाई में रखा हुआ था, आना था; और उसका मृत्यु का दूत मिस्र में प्रत्येक पहलौठे को मारने वाला था, वह चाहे मनुष्य का हो या पशु का (निर्गमन 12:12)। वह मिस्रियों के लिये न्याय की, और इस्राएलियों के लिए छुटकारे की रात होनी थी; सांकेतिक रीति से संसार के लिये न्याय और परमेश्वर के लोगों के लिये छुटकारे का समय होना था। किन्तु इस्राएलियों को भी कुछ करना था, परमेश्वर में अपने विश्वास और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता के लिए सहमत होने को दर्शाने के लिए उन्हें अपने घरों की चौखटों और अलंगों पर जिस मेमने को उन्होंने बलि किया था, उसी के लहू को लगाना था। परमेश्वर ने कहा था जिस भी घर पर लहू लगा होगा वह उसे छोड़ देगा; उसके अतिरिक्त जितने भी घर होंगे उन में पहलौठे मारे जाएंगे।

        जिस प्रकार से इस्राएलियों को बलि किए हुए मेमने के लगाए हुए लहू में न्याय और मृत्यु से बचने के लिये भरोसा रखना था, इस नए नियम के समय में लोगों को प्रभु यीशु के बहाए हुए लहू पर अपने पापों की क्षमा, उनसे छुड़ाए जाने और उनकी शुद्धि के लिए भरोसा रखना है (रोमियों 3:25; इफिसियों 1:7; कुलुस्सियों 1:14; 1 यूहन्ना 1:7; प्रकाशितवाक्य 1:5), परमेश्वर के न्याय और पापों के दण्ड से बचने के लिए।

        यहाँ पर थोड़ा रुक कर इस अद्भुत तथ्य, इसके महत्व, तथा तात्पर्यों पर कुछ विचार करने की आवश्यकता है। प्रभु परमेश्वर द्वारा यह पहचान करने के लिए कि किस घर में जाना है, और किस को लांघना या छोड़ना है - इसीलिए उसे लाँघन पर्व भी कहा गया है, केवल एक ही तरीका दिया गया था। बलि किए हुए मेमने के लहू को चौखटों और अलंगों पर लगाने के अतिरिक्त मृत्यु के घर में आने से रोकने का और कोई तरीका नहीं था। परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित विधि के अनुसार लहू लगाना परमेश्वर में विश्वास और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में रहने का चिह्न था। उसी प्रकार से, आज, प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास करने, उसके लहू के बहाए जाने, और कलवरी के क्रूस पर दिए गए उसके बलिदान को स्वीकार करने, उसके बहाए गए लहू के अधीन आने, अर्थात प्रभु यीशु को व्यक्तिगत रीति से अपना उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने के अतिरिक्त किसी के लिए भी पापों के लिए न्याय और दण्ड से बचने का और कोई तरीका नहीं है। यह किसी मनुष्य की कही हुई बात नहीं है; जैसा कि निर्गमन 12 में यह परमेश्वर ने कहा था, इस युग में भी, यह बात परमेश्वर द्वारा ही निर्धारित की गई तथा कही गई है। परमेश्वर के निर्देश अटल, अपरिवर्तनीय, तथा पूर्ण रूप से मान्य हैं।

        अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे चलेंगे तथा इस पद की बातों के अभिप्रायों को आज के प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने के निहितार्थों के साथ मिलाकर देखेंगे कि प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने वालों को इन बातों को अपने जीवनों में व्यावहारिक रीति से लागू करना है।

English Translation

Exodus 12:7 - The Lord’s Table - Participate After Obeying & Surrendering (1)

 

       We are doing this study on the Holy Communion, or the Lord’s Table, based upon its Old Testament antecedent, the Passover, described in Exodus 12 and in the Law given through Moses by the Lord. We have seen that the Lord Jesus established the Communion or Table while participating in the Passover meal with His disciples and using the elements of the Passover meal. Also, neither the Lord Jesus, while establishing the Communion or the Table, nor the authors of the later New Testament writings under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit, ever annulled, changed, or replaced anything God had said related to the Passover; rather, they all built upon those instructions. We also saw that both the Passover and the Holy Communion were given for the people of God; and not that their participation in them made them the people of God. This and other wrong teachings about God’s Word and instructions have been brought in by Satan into Christianity, because people have become unconcerned about studying God’s Word, learning its truths, and striving to apply those truths in their own lives and in the practices of the Church. Instead, people are now content with accepting whatever is told to them from the pulpit, without verifying it from God’s Word before following it. This has also turned them into being ‘men-pleasers’, i.e., those who are interested in doing whatever their religious leaders tell them, instead of learning what God wants them to do and doing that, and be a ‘God-pleaser.’ Because of these things, people instead of learning and following God’s instructions about the Communion, are content in participating in the Lord’s Table perfunctorily, as a ritual, while presumptively and quite erroneously believing that doing this has made them acceptable to God and worthy of entering heaven. Through the instructions given by God in Exodus 12 about the Passover, we have learnt many things about what the Holy Communion means, and what its significance is. Today we will see the next instruction given by God in Exodus 12:7, and learn from it for our participation in the Lord’s Table.

        Exodus 12:7 - In the last article we had seen that the sacrificial lamb for the Passover had to be killed at twilight on the fourteenth day of the month, and how the crucifixion and death of Lord Jesus - the Lamb of God, fulfilled this requirement. Verses 7 tells us of God’s instructions of what to do next with this sacrificed lamb. In sacrificing the lamb, its blood was shed. The night of this sacrifice, God’s judgment was going to fall on the Egyptians who had kept His people under bondage, and His Angel of death was going to kill every first-born, whether of men or animals in the land of Egypt (Exodus 12:12). It was the night of judgment for the Egyptians and deliverance for the Israelites, symbolically, judgment for the world and deliverance for the people of God. But the Israelites were to do something, as an act of faith in God and a sign of their willingness to obey Him - they had to mark their houses, on the door-posts and the lintel, with the blood of the same lamb that they had sacrificed. God had said that He would spare all the houses which were marked by the blood of the lamb that had been sacrificed; in all the other houses, all the first-born would die.

        Just as the Israelites had to trust in the blood of the sacrificed lamb applied to their houses for escaping judgment and death, in the New Testament times, people have to trust in the Lord Jesus’s blood shed for the forgiveness, redemption and cleansing from their sins (Romans 3:25; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; 1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5), to be saved from God’s judgment and punishment for their sins.

        One needs to stop and ponder upon this astounding fact, upon its significance and implications. There was only one way given by the Lord God to differentiate which house to visit and execute His judgement, and which house to ‘pass over’ i.e., skip - hence the name “Passover.” Other than applying the blood of the sacrificed lamb to the door-posts and lintel, there was no other means or way of escaping God’s visiting death upon the house. The applying of the blood in the given manner was a sign of faith as well as of obedience to God. Similarly, today, except for trusting in the Lord Jesus, His shedding of His blood, and His sacrificial death on the Cross of Calvary, and coming under that shed blood, i.e., submitting to the Lord Jesus accepting Him as the personal savior, there is no other God given way for anyone to escape judgment and punishment for their sins. No man has said this; like it was God who had said this in Exodus 12, similarly, in this age too, it is God who has said and ordained this. God’s instructions are irrevocable, unalterable and absolutely binding.

        In the next article we will carry on from here and will consider the understanding of this verse along with the implications of participating in the Lord's Table today, and understand how the participants must practically apply them to their lives.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.
