पिछले चार लेखों से हम यूहन्ना 15:1-6, विशेषकर 15:2, को देखते आ रहे हैं, यह जानने के लिए कि क्या यह खण्ड और पद इस बात का प्रमाण है कि उद्धार खोया जा सकता है और पाप करने वाला मसीही विश्वासी विनाश के लिए “काट डाला” जा सकता है कि नहीं, जैसा कि कुछ लोग इस पद 2 के आधार पर धारणा देते हैं। पहले लेख में हमने बाइबल के अध्ययन और व्याख्या के कुछ मूलभूत सिद्धान्तों को देखा था, जिनके आधार पर हम गलत व्याख्या से बच सकते हैं और गलत व्याख्याओं को पहचान भी सकते हैं। दूसरे लेख में हमने बाइबल अध्ययन और व्याख्या के इन सिद्धांतों में से सबसे महत्वपूर्ण, पद या खण्ड को उसके सन्दर्भ के साथ देखने और उसी के साथ व्याख्या करने के सिद्धान्त को इस खण्ड, यूहन्ना 15:1-6 पर लागू कर के उसे समझा था। सन्दर्भ के साथ देखने से यह प्रकट हो गया था कि यहाँ पर पद 2 का तात्पर्य यह नहीं हो सकता है कि उद्धार खोया जा सकता है और विश्वासी को विनाश के लिए काट डाला जा सकता है। इस श्रृंखला के तीसरे लेख में हमने बाइबल अध्ययन और व्याख्या के एक और सिद्धांत को लागू कर के, कि बाइबल कभी भी अपने आप को काट नहीं सकती है, बाइबल में कोई विरोधाभास नहीं है, और न हो सकता है, इस खण्ड और पद का अध्ययन किया था। और हमने देखा कि जब हम यूहन्ना 15:2 को बाइबल के अन्य पदों और खण्डों के साथ देखते हैं तो प्रकट हो जाता है कि यदि यूहन्ना 15:2 के आधार पर यह कहा जाए कि उद्धार जा सकता है, विश्वासी का नाश हो सकता है, तो फिर यह बाइबल में विरोधाभास ले आता है, इसलिए यह इस खण्ड और पद की अस्वीकार्य व्याख्या है। चौथे लेख में हमने बाइबल अध्ययन के एक अन्य सिद्धान्त, मूल भाषा में शब्द के अर्थ, और उस शब्द के अन्य स्थानों, बाइबल तथा बाइबल के बाहर के प्रयोग के द्वारा उसके अर्थ और अभिप्राय समझना देखा था। यूहन्ना 15:2 में शब्द “airo” का अनुवाद “काट डालता है” किया गया है; और हमने बाइबल के बाहर, सामान्य प्रयोग में इस शब्द के विभिन्न तात्पर्यों को देखा कि उसे किन अभिप्रायों से प्रयोग किया जा सकता है। आज हम इसी शब्द के बाइबल में विभिन्न प्रयोगों और तात्पर्यों को देखेंगे।
4. शब्द का उसकी मूल भाषा में अर्थ और प्रयोग (ज़ारी):
शब्द “airo” को बाइबल में भी विभिन्न अर्थ और तात्पर्यों के साथ प्रयोग किया गया है। हम मत्ती रचित सुसमाचार में से कुछ उदाहरण लेते हैं:
मत्ती 4:6 “और उस से कहा यदि तू परमेश्वर का पुत्र है, तो अपने आप को नीचे गिरा दे; क्योंकि लिखा है, कि वह तेरे विषय में अपने स्वर्गदूतों को आज्ञा देगा; और वे तुझे हाथों हाथ उठा लेंगे; कहीं ऐसा न हो कि तेरे पांवों में पत्थर से ठेस लगे।” यहाँ पर इसका अनुवाद “उठा लेंगे” किया गया है, सुरक्षित रखने, हानि से बचाने के अभिप्राय से।
मत्ती 9:6 “परन्तु इसलिये कि तुम जान लो कि मनुष्य के पुत्र को पृथ्वी पर पाप क्षमा करने का अधिकार है (उसने झोले के मारे हुए से कहा) उठ: अपनी खाट उठा, और अपने घर चला जा।” यहाँ पर इसका अनुवाद “उठा” किया गया है, किसी वस्तु को – खाट को नीचे से ऊपर उठा लेने के अभिप्राय से।
मत्ती 9:16 “कोरे कपड़े का पैबन्द पुराने पहिरावन पर कोई नहीं लगाता, क्योंकि वह पैबन्द पहिरावन से और कुछ खींच लेता है, और वह अधिक फट जाता है।” यहाँ पर इसका अनुवाद “खींच लेता” किया गया है, किसी वस्तु को – पैबन्द को कपड़े से अलग खींच लेने के अभिप्राय से।
मत्ती 11:29 “मेरा जूआ अपने ऊपर उठा लो; और मुझ से सीखो; क्योंकि मैं नम्र और मन में दीन हूं: और तुम अपने मन में विश्राम पाओगे।” यहाँ पर इसका अनुवाद “उठा लो” किया गया है, किसी वस्तु को – जुए को प्रभु के साथ मिलकर अपने ऊपर लागू कर लेने के अभिप्राय से।
मत्ती 13:12 “क्योंकि जिस के पास है, उसे दिया जाएगा; और उसके पास बहुत हो जाएगा; पर जिस के पास कुछ नहीं है, उस से जो कुछ उसके पास है, वह भी ले लिया जाएगा।” यहाँ पर इसका अनुवाद “ले लिया” किया गया है, किसी वस्तु को ले कर अलग कर देने के अभिप्राय से।
मत्ती 14:20 “और सब खाकर तृप्त हो गए, और उन्होंने बचे हुए टुकड़ों से भरी हुई बारह टोकिरयां उठाईं।” यहाँ पर इसका अनुवाद “उठाईं” किया गया है, किसी वस्तु को – भोजन सामग्री को एकत्रित कर लेने के अभिप्राय से।
इस प्रकार हम बाइबल से भी देखते हैं कि यूनानी भाषा के शब्द “airo” का कोई एक विशिष्ट अर्थ नहीं है, परन्तु उसे विभिन्न अभिप्राय जताने के लिए प्रयोग किया जा सकता है, और वाक्य की रचना में उसके प्रयोग तथा सन्दर्भ द्वारा ही उसका अर्थ और अभिप्राय स्पष्ट होता है। अगले लेख में हम, अभी तक जो हमने देखा है उसे उपयोग करेंगे और “airo” शब्द के यूहन्ना 15:2 में वास्तविक अर्थ को समझेंगे, और फिर निष्कर्ष निकालेंगे कि प्रभु का इस पद और इस खण्ड यूहन्ना 15:1-6 में सही तात्पर्य क्या था।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

In the past four articles we have been considering John 15:1-6, particularly 15:2, to see whether it is a proof that salvation can be lost and the errant Believer can be cast away or destroyed or not, as some people allege on the basis of this verse 2. In the first article we had seen some basic principles of Bible study and interpretation, that help us in avoiding as well as identifying wrong interpretations and meanings. In the second article, we had applied the most important of these principles of studying the verse or passage in its context to this passage, i.e., John 15:1-6. By studying it in its context it had become apparent that this passage and its verse 2 cannot mean that salvation can be lost and a Believer can be cast away into destruction. In the third article in this series on this passage, we had applied another principle of Bible study and interpretation to this passage and verse 2, - that the Bible does not contradict itself, and we had seen how interpreting John 15:2 to mean salvation can be lost, brings a contradiction with other Bible passages and verses, and therefore becomes an unacceptable interpretation of the passage and verse. In the fourth article, we applied another principle to this passage, that of seeing and understanding the meaning of the words in their original language, and how they have been used to convey various meanings, in and outside the Bible. In this fourth article we had seen some non-Biblical examples in everyday usage of applying this principle to the word Greek “airo” that has been translated as “takes away” in John 15:2. Today, continuing with the further application of this principle, we will see some Biblical examples of the different uses of “airo.”
4. The Meanings and Application of the word in its original language (Continued):
The word “Airo” has been used in different meanings in the Bible as well. Let us look at a few examples from the Gospel of Matthew:
Matthew 4:6 “and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’” Here, “airo” has been translated as “bear you up” and has been used to mean to safeguard, to ensure no injury is caused.
Matthew 9:6 “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"--then He said to the paralytic, "Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house."” Here it is translated as “take up” and used in the sense of taking up or lifting up an object from a lower to a higher level.
Matthew 9:16 “No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse.” Here it is translated as “pulls away” and used in the sense of drawing something away.
Matthew 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Here it is translated as “Take”, and used in the sense of bear or share the yoke with the Lord.
Matthew 13:12 “For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” Here it is translated as “taken away”, and used in the sense of removing something away.
Matthew 14:20 “So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.” Here it is translated as “took up”, and used in the sense of collecting or gathering up the left overs.
So, we see from the Bible too that the Greek word “airo” does not have any one specific usage, but can be used to express various meanings, which are determined by the usage and context. In the next article we will use all that we have learnt so far and another example to derive a proper understanding of “airo” in John 15:2, and then draw conclusion to see what the Lord actually meant in this verse and in John 15:1-6.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
