इस श्रृंखला में हम मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिए गए प्रावधानों के योग्य एवं भले भण्डारी होने के बारे में अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। हमारा वर्तमान जारी विषय है विश्वासी का परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा का योग्य भण्डारी होना। परमेश्वर द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा उसके प्रत्येक विश्वासी, प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए संतान को उसी समय दे दिया जाता है जब वह नया जन्म प्राप्त करता है, अर्थात्, अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करता है, प्रभु यीशु को अपना उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करता है, और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित कर देता है। पवित्र आत्मा, मसीही विश्वास के जीवन में उसकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया सहायक और साथी है; ताकि वह परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई का ठीक से निर्वाह कर सके, और उस सेवकाई के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिए गए संसाधनों का सही उपयोग कर सके। इसलिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को यह पता होना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन सही और उचित रीति से किस प्रकार उपयोग की जाए; बजाए उसके बारे में अनजाने रहने, और फिर लापरवाह होकर उसके नाम में मनमानी रीति से कुछ भी कहने और करने के।

प्रभु यीशु ने, उनके क्रूस पर चढ़ाने के लिए पकड़वाए जाने से पहले, शिष्यों के साथ अपने अंतिम वार्तालाप में, शिष्यों के जीवनों में पवित्र आत्मा की सेवकाई के बारे में उन्हें सिखाया था। प्रभु की ये शिक्षाएँ हमारे लिए यूहन्ना 14 से 16 अध्याय में लिखी गई हैं। इस खंड में से, पिछले कुछ लेखों में हम यूहन्ना 14:16 में से पवित्र आत्मा के विश्वासी का सहायक और साथी होने के बारे में सीखा है। हमने देखा है कि पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी के स्थान पर उसका विकल्प होकर काम करने वाला नहीं है। वह कठिन परिस्थितियों में उनका मार्गदर्शन और सहायता करेगा, परन्तु काम को अपने हाथों में लेकर उनके स्थान पर उस काम नहीं करेगा। हमने पवित्र आत्मा के सर्वदा विश्वासी में निवास करने – विश्वासी का पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर होने के बारे में; और इन बातों के परिणामस्वरूप जो ज़िम्मेदारियाँ मसीही विश्वासी पर आती हैं, उनके बारे में देखा है। आज से हम यूहन्ना 14:17 से परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के कुछ अन्य पक्ष देखना आरम्भ करेंगे। हम सीखेंगे कि वह कब और कहाँ पर विश्वासी का सहायक और साथी होगा। हम इस बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात को भी समझेंगे विश्वासी को यह आशा नहीं रखनी चाहिए, यूँ ही नहीं मान लेना चाहिए कि वह जो सोच रहा है, जो योजना बना रहा है, जो कर रहा है, उसमें पवित्र आत्मा भी स्वतः ही अवश्य ही उसके साथ सहमत होगा और सम्मिलित होगा।

प्रभु ने यूहन्ना 14:17 में पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में कहा, “अर्थात सत्य का आत्मा, जिसे संसार ग्रहण नहीं कर सकता, क्योंकि वह न उसे देखता है और न उसे जानता है: तुम उसे जानते हो, क्योंकि वह तुम्हारे साथ रहता है, और वह तुम में होगा।” यहाँ पर हम प्रभु द्वारा तीन बातें कही गई देखते हैं:

1. वह सत्य का आत्मा है

2. संसार उसे ग्रहण नहीं कर सकता है, क्योंकि वह न उसे देखता है और न उसे जानता है

3. प्रभु के शिष्य उसे जानते हैं, क्योंकि वह उनके साथ रहता है और उनमें निवास करेगा

हम इन में से अंतिम बात, अर्थात् पवित्र आत्मा के मसीही विश्वासी में निवास करने के बारे में पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं, इसलिए हम अब प्रभु द्वारा कही गई पहली दो बातों को ही देखेंगे; और आज से पहली बात से आरम्भ करेंगे।

1. वह सत्य का आत्मा है। यूहन्ना 14, 15, और 16 अध्यायों में, जहाँ प्रभु यीशु ने पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में शिक्षा दी है, प्रभु ने तीन बार पवित्र आत्मा को “सत्य का आत्मा” कहा है, यूहन्ना 14:17; यूहन्ना 15:26; और यूहन्ना 16:13 में। प्रभु यीशु द्वारा एक विशिष्ट बात के लिए बल देकर और दोहरा कर यह कहना, अभिप्राय देता है कि यह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात है; ऐसी, जिसे पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित किसी भी बात के सन्दर्भ में, न तो हलके में लिया जा सकता है और न ही जिस की अनदेखी की जा सकती है। इस बात को स्पष्ट समझ लेना, उसे अच्छे से याद कर लेना, और नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी के द्वारा मसीही जीवन के हर पक्ष में इस का हमेशा पालन करना अति आवश्यक है। यह करना अनिवार्य है, क्योंकि जैसा ऊपर कहा गया है, मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन और सेवकाई का प्रभावी एवं सफल होना उसे उपलब्ध पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य पर ही निर्भर करता है। साथ ही, जैसा कि अगले लेख में समझाया और स्पष्ट किया गया है, इस बात से हल्का सा भी हटना या उसके साथ ज़रा सा भी समझौता करना, मसीहियत की बुनियाद को ही झकझोर कर रख देगा। हम अगले लेख में भी पवित्र आत्मा के “सत्य का आत्मा” होने बे बारे में विचार करना ज़ारी रखेंगे।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Holy Spirit – The Spirit of Truth – 1

 

In this series we are studying the Christian Believer being a worthy steward of all his God given provisions. Presently we are considering about the Believer being a worthy steward of God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given by God to each and every Believer, His Born-Again child, from the moment of his being Born Again, i.e., repenting of his sins, accepting the Lord Jesus as his savior, and surrendering his life to Him. The Holy Spirit is the Believer’s Helper and Companion, to help and guide him in his life of Christian faith, in carrying out his God assigned ministry, and in utilizing his God-given resources to carry out that ministry. Therefore, the Believer ought to know how to worthily and appropriately utilize the help and guidance of God the Holy Spirit; instead of being ignorant about Him, and thereby presumptively and casually saying or doing things in His name. 

The Lord Jesus, in His final discourse with the disciples, before His being caught and taken for crucifixion, taught them about the ministry of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Lord’s teachings about this are recorded for us in John’s gospel, chapters 14 to 16. From this section, in the previous few articles we have seen from John 14:16 about the Holy Spirit being the Believer’s Helper and Companion, and not his substitute; He will be their Helper and guide in difficult circumstances, but will not take-over and do their work for them. We then saw about the Holy Spirit always residing in the Believers – the Believer being the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and the consequent responsibilities these Biblical facts place upon the Believer. From today we will start learning from John 14:17, some other aspects of God the Holy Spirit. We will learn where and how He will be of help and be a companion for the Believer. We will also understand a very important thing, i.e., the Believers must not assume or expect that the Holy Spirit will automatically join them, agree with them in everything that they are thinking, planning, or doing.

The Lord, in John 14:17, says about God the Holy Spirit that, “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” We see three things stated here by the Lord Jesus about the Holy Spirit:

1. He is the Spirit of truth.

2. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.

3. The disciples of the Lord know Him, for He dwells with them and will reside in them. 

Of these, we have already considered the last one, i.e., the Holy Spirit residing in the Christian Believers; so now we will be looking at the first two aspects stated by the Lord Jesus about Him; and we will start with the first aspect today.

1. He is the Spirit of Truth. In John chapters 14, 15, 16, wherein the Lord Jesus taught the disciples about the Holy Spirit, He has called the Holy Spirit "the Spirit of Truth" three times, in John 14:17; John 15:26; and John 16:13. This repetitive emphasis by the Lord Jesus upon a particular aspect, implies its being of great significance, one that cannot be taken lightly or ignored in anything to do with the Holy Spirit. This needs to be very clearly understood, committed to memory, and always adhered to in all aspects of Christian living by every Born-Again Christian Believer. This is mandatory, because as stated above, the Christian Believer’s life and ministry being effective and successful depends upon the power of the Holy Spirit made available to him. Moreover, as will be explained in the next article, even a slight deviation or compromise on this count will severely shake the very foundation of Christianity. In the next article too, we will continue pondering over the Holy Spirit being "the Spirit of Truth."

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने यूहन्ना 14:16 में कहा कि पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासियों में हमेशा बना रहेगा। इस पर थोड़ा विचार कीजिए; क्योंकि वह हमेशा प्रभु के शिष्य में, मसीही विश्वासी में होगा, इसलिए विश्वासी जहाँ भी जाएगा, प्रभु का शिष्य जो भी करेगा, वह जो भी सोचेगा, देखेगा, सुनेगा, उन सभी बातों में पवित्र आत्मा हमेशा उसके साथ होगा – वे बातें चाहे शारीरिक हों, या मानसिक, अथवा उसके हृदय में हों। इसलिए अगली बार जब भी प्रभु के किसी शिष्य को कुछ भी ऐसा जो गलत है सोचने, करने, सुनने, देखने, या उसमें संलग्न होने का प्रलोभन हो, तब इस तथ्य को स्मरण करे, कि पवित्र आत्मा हमेशा उसके साथ है, उसमें निवास कर रहा है, और न चाहते हुए भी पवित्र आत्मा को भी उसी सब का अनुभव करना पड़ेगा जो विश्वासी कर रहा है। उस बात को करने से पहले पल भर रुक कर यह विचार कर लेना, विश्वासी के लिए किसी भी अनुचित बात में पड़ने से बचने में बहुत सहायक होगा।

क्योंकि, न चाहते हुए भी, ज़बरदस्ती ही, पवित्र आत्मा को भी वह सब सहना पड़ता है जो विश्वासी अपने हृदय में, मन-मस्तिष्क में, शरीर में हो लेने देता है, इसीलिए विश्वासियों को इफिसियों 4:30 में सचेत किया गया है कि वे सुनिश्चित करें कि वे अपने जीवन के द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा को शोकित न करें। यहाँ पर ध्यान कीजिए कि इफिसियों 4:29-32 विश्वासियों के बोलने और व्यवहार से संबंधित हैं; तात्पर्य यह है कि मसीही विश्वासी द्वारा कोई भी असभ्य या अनुचित भाषा का प्रयोग और गलत व्यवहार, पवित्र आत्मा को शोकित करेगा। विश्वासी को उस के प्रति संवेदनशील और उसका आज्ञाकारी बने रहना है (गलातियों 5:16, 25), और उस से सीखना है (यूहन्ना 14:26; 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-13) कि अपने जीवन को कैसे संचालित करे, अपने विश्वास तथा अपने उद्धारकर्ता का गवाह कैसे बने। उससे प्रेम करने और उसका ध्यान रखने वाले उसके सहायक और मार्गदर्शक के रूप में, पवित्र आत्मा हमेशा ही उसे हानिकारक तथा शैतानी बातों से बच कर रहने, तथा आत्मिक जीवन में उन्नति करने के बारे में ही कहेगा। दूसरे शब्दों में, वह उसे एक सफल और आशीशित जीवन जीने की ओर ही लेकर जाएगा।

  

साथ ही, क्योंकि मसीही विश्वासी अब अपना नहीं रहा है वरन परमेश्वर का हो गया है, इसलिए अपनी देह और आत्मा के द्वारा, जैसा कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 6:20 में लिखा है, अब उसके पास उसे जो भी सही या उचित लगे उसे करने का अधिकार नहीं है। बल्कि, उसे अब हर बात परमेश्वर की इच्छा में होकर, उसी की आज्ञा के अनुसार, उसे स्वीकार्य रीति से करनी है। विश्वासी के कुछ भी करने, सोचने, योजना बनाने, इच्छा रखने, आदि का उद्देश्य, अपने जीवन, विचारों, लालसाओं, और कार्यों के द्वारा परमेश्वर ही को महिमा देना होना चाहिए। परमेश्वर को महिमा देने का अर्थ है अपने जीवन के द्वारा, संसार के सामने उसे ऊँचे पर उठाना, उसे आदर देना, उसे महिमित करना; क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने ही विश्वासी को कुछ भी कर पाने, कुछ भी प्राप्त करने, कोई भी ख्याति पाने की योग्यता, संसाधन, और सामर्थ्य प्रदान की है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 8:18; नीतिवचन 10:22); यह विश्वासी की अपनी किसी क्षमता से नहीं है। यदि मसीही विश्वासी अपनी देह और आत्मा के द्वारा परमेश्वर को महिमा नहीं दे रहा है, तो वह परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता कर रहा है, और प्रभु का शिष्य होने की अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी का निर्वाह नहीं कर रहा है। 

प्रथम दृष्टि में अपना नहीं बल्कि परमेश्वर का होना, और उसी की इच्छा के अनुसार, उससे ही पूछ कर सब कुछ सोचना, करना आदि, यह बात बहुत संकुचित करने, बाँध कर रखने जैसी प्रतीत होती है। परन्तु हमें यह ध्यान रखना चाहिये कि इस संसार की हर बात पर केवल दो ही शक्तियों में से एक का अधिकार रहता है - परमेश्वर का, या फिर शैतान का। व्यक्ति चाहे इस बात को माने या न माने, समझे या न समझे, परन्तु जो भी व्यक्ति या बात इन दोनों में से एक शक्ति के आधीन नहीं है, वह स्वतः ही दूसरी के आधीन होता ही है। शैतान हर बात में, हर सम्भव तरीके से, हर समय, परमेश्वर और उसकी योजनाओं के विरुद्ध ही कार्य करता है; परमेश्वर और उसके लोगों की हानि ही चाहता है, चाहे उसकी यह योजनाएँ तुरन्त ही हम पर प्रकट न भी हों। जबकि परमेश्वर केवल हमारी भलाई और आशीष की योजनाएं बनाता है (यिर्मयाह 29:11), और सब बातों तथा परिस्थितियों में से भी हमारी भलाई ही उत्पन्न करता है (रोमियों 8:28), चाहे यह सब अभी हमें कष्टप्रद और पीड़ादायक लगें, बँधनों के समान प्रतीत हों। जबकि शैतान अभी हमें भली और उचित लगने वाली संसार की अस्थाई और नश्वर बातों के प्रलोभनों और आकर्षणों में डालकर (1 यूहन्ना 2:15-17), हमारी हानि करना चाहता है, जैसे उसने अदन की वाटिका में हव्वा के साथ किया; वह अन्ततः हमें अपने साथ अनन्तकाल के नरक में ले जाना चाहता है। कुल मिलाकर निष्कर्ष यह है कि परमेश्वर, उसके द्वारा निर्धारित सीमाओं के द्वारा भी हमें एक अनन्तकालीन सफल और आशीषित जीवन देना चाहता है। परन्तु शैतान, उसकी स्वतन्त्रता और बंधनों से मुक्ति प्रतीत होने वाली बातों के द्वारा हमें दास बनाकर अनन्त पीड़ा में ले जाना चाहता है - और चुनाव हमें करना है।

 

अगले लेख में हम परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के एक अन्य पक्ष के बारे में सीखेंगे, कि वह सत्य का आत्मा है।

Holy Spirit – Always With Us – 3

 

As the Lord had promised in John 14:16, God has given His Holy Spirit to every Christian Believer, from the moment of his repenting of his sins and accepting the Lord Jesus as his savior; no one has earned or received Him through any of their own efforts. The Christian Believers are to be worthy stewards of the Holy Spirit, given to them by God. We have seen from John 14:16 that the Holy Spirit is the Believer’s Helper or Companion, and is there to always stay with the Believers. We have seen that the body of the Christian Believer has been called the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and the Believer is no longer his own but belongs to God (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20), and have considered the applications of these things. Today we will consider the practical application, the responsibility of the Believer belonging to God and not being his own, and of being the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus said in John 14:16 the Holy Spirit will always be with His disciples. Ponder over it awhile, since He is always in the disciple, with the Believer, therefore, wherever the Lord’s disciple goes, whatever the Believer does, whatever he thinks, sees, or hears, God the Holy Spirit is always there with him, in whatever he is indulging in - whether physical, or mental, or in his heart. So, the next time a disciple of the Lord, the Believer is tempted to think, do, see, hear, or be involved in anything wrong, then recalling this fact, that the Holy Spirit is always with him, is residing in him and so will unwillingly be experiencing the same as the Believer is experiencing. Before doing that thing, waiting for a moment and reflecting on this fact would help the Believer tremendously in staying away from anything that is inappropriate for him.

 

Since the Holy Spirit, per force, also has to suffer whatever the Believers allow in their hearts and minds, and indulge in through their bodies; therefore, the Believers have been cautioned in Ephesians 4:30 to make sure they do not grieve the Holy Spirit. Here, note that Ephesians 4:29-32 is about the speech and behavior of Believers. The implication is that any inappropriate language and wrong behavior also grieves the Holy Spirit. The Believer is to remain sensitive and obedient to the promptings of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16, 25), and is to learn from Him (John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13) how to conduct his life, be witnesses of his faith and of his savior Lord. As his helper and guide, as one who loves and cares for him, the Holy Spirit will always prompt him about staying away from harmful and satanic things, and growing in their spiritual lives. In other words, He will lead him into living a blessed and successful life.

Moreover, since the Christian Believer now belongs to God, and is no longer his own therefore, as is written in 1 Corinthians 6:20, he no longer has the authority to indulge himself in whatever he feels appropriate, in his body as well as spirit. Rather, he now has to live not for himself but for the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:15). The Believer is to do everything in the will of God, as He commands, with His permission and acceptance. The purpose of whatever the Believer does, says, thinks, plans, desires, etc., must be to glorify God through his life, thoughts, desires, and deeds. To glorify God is to bring glory and honor to Him, to exalt Him in and through our lives before the world; since it is God who has given us the ability, resources and the power to achieve and acquire everything (Deuteronomy 8:18; Proverbs 10:22); it is not through any ability of the Believer. If a Christian Believer is not glorifying God in his body and spirit, he is disobeying God and not fulfilling his responsibility of being a disciple of the Lord. 

At first glance, the implications of no longer belonging to oneself but only to God, and having to live and work only in accordance with His will, always asking Him before desiring or doing anything, seems very restrictive, as if being bound. But we must keep in mind that over everything in this world, only one of two powers holds authority—God, or Satan. Whether a person believes it or not, or understands it or not, every person and thing, not under control of one of these two powers, is automatically in control of the other. Satan works against God and His plans in everything; in every possible way, and at all times he only desires to harm God and His people, even if his plans are not immediately apparent to us. Whereas God plans only for our good and blessing (Jeremiah 29:11), and brings about our good out of all things and circumstances (Romans 8:28), even if all these may currently seem troublesome and painful to us, or appear like bondages. On the other hand Satan, by leading us into the temptations and attractions of the temporary and perishable things of the world that currently seem good and proper to us (1 John 2:15-17), seeks to harm us, just as he did with Eve in the Garden of Eden; ultimately, he wants to take us with him into eternal hell. The net inference is that God, even through His established limitations, wants to give us an eternally blessed and successful life. But Satan, through his apparent freedom and liberation, wants to enslave and torment us for eternity - and we have to make the choice.

In the next article we will learn about another aspect of God the Holy Spirit – His being the Spirit of truth.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हम परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रत्येक वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों को सौंपे गए संसाधनों का भण्डारी होने के बारे में अध्ययन करते आ रहे हैं। इन संसाधनों में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा भी सम्मिलित है, जो किसी भी व्यक्ति के प्रभु यीशु को अपना उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करते ही उसी पल से उस में आ कर निवास करने लगता है। और उसी पल से, प्रत्येक वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी, स्वतः ही पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर तथा भण्डारी बन जाता है। हमने यूहन्ना 14:16 से देखा है कि पवित्र आत्मा को परमेश्वर द्वारा मसीही विश्वासी को दिया गया है, कि उनका सहायक, उनका साथी हो, उनकी सेवकाई में उनका मार्गदर्शन करे, उन्हें सिखाए, और हमेशा उनके साथ बना रहे। विश्वासी का सहायक और साथी होने की पवित्र आत्मा की भूमिका को देखने के बाद, पिछले लेख से हमने परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा का उनके साथ होने, उनमें निवास करने, विश्वासी का उनका मन्दिर होने के बारे में 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19-20 से देखना आरम्भ किया है। इन पदों से एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य, उसके दो परिणाम, और विश्वासी की ज़िम्मेदारी के बारे में पता चलता है। महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य, जिसे हम पिछले लेख में देख चुके हैं, है कि परमेश्वर ही प्रत्येक विश्वासी को पवित्र आत्मा प्रदान करता है, उसके आत्मिक स्तर और परिपक्वता, आत्मिक आयु, शारीरिक आयु, और उसके सेवकाई चाहे कुछ भी हो। आज हम दो परिणामों को देखेंगे।

हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 6:19-20 से देखते हैं कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के उन में निवास करने के दो परिणाम हैं; पहला है कि वे पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर हो जाते हैं, और दूसरा है कि अब वे अपने नहीं है बल्कि परमेश्वर की संपत्ति हैं, क्योंकि दाम देकर मोल लिए गए हैं – प्रभु यीशु के लहू और जीवन के द्वारा।

मसीही विश्वासी का पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर होने को हम कैसे समझ सकते हैं? प्रभु यीशु ने परमेश्वर के मन्दिर के उद्देश्य को यूहन्ना 2:14-17 में और फिर मत्ती 21:13 बताया है। हम यूहन्ना 2:14-17 से सीखते हैं कि मन्दिर व्यापार का स्थान होने के लिए नहीं था, अर्थात ऐसा स्थान जहाँ से लोगों का कोई शोषण किया जाए, और परमेश्वर के नाम में साँसारिक सम्पत्ति कमाई जाए। और मत्ती 21:13 से हम सीखते हैं कि मंदिर को प्रार्थना का स्थान होना था, वह स्थान जहाँ व्यक्ति परमेश्वर के साथ संपर्क कर सके, उस से वार्तालाप कर सके। प्रभु के इन कथनों से हम समझ सकते हैं कि एक विश्वासी को, परमेश्वर का मन्दिर होने के नाते, संसार के समक्ष कैसा होना चाहिए। विश्वासी को परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दी गई सेवकाई और प्रभु के नाम का उपयोग साँसारिक सम्पत्ति कमाने के लिए नहीं करना चाहिए। वरन, उसे लोगों को परमेश्वर की ओर मार्गदर्शन करने वाला, उस से संपर्क में लाने वाला – लोगों तक सुसमाचार को पहुँचाने वाला; उन्हें साँसारिक नहीं बल्कि अनन्तकालीन स्वर्गीय आशीषों की ओर ध्यान करवाने वाला होना चाहिए। यह बदलाव उसके जीवन में स्पष्ट दिखाई देना चाहिये (रोमियों 12:1-2); न केवल भौतिक वस्तुओं के प्रति परन्तु मानसिकता और व्यवहार में भी, जैसा कि कुलुस्सियों 3 अध्याय में बताया गया है। 

विश्वासी के अब अपना नहीं रहने, वरन परमेश्वर की सम्पत्ति हो जाने, क्योंकि उसे प्रभु यीशु के जीवन की कीमत पर लिया गया है (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों  5:10; तीतुस  2:14), को समझने के लिए, दो पदों पर विचार कीजिए: “तुम दाम देकर मोल लिये गए हो, मनुष्यों के दास न बनो” (1 कुरिन्थियों 7:23), और “और वह इस निमित्त सब के लिये मरा, कि जो जीवित हैं, वे आगे को अपने लिये न जीएं परन्तु उसके लिये जो उन के लिये मरा और फिर जी उठा” (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15)। हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 7:23 से सीखते हैं कि क्योंकि विश्वासी प्रभु का है, उसकी संपत्ति है, इसलिए उसे अपने आप को किसी मनुष्य की अनुचित या अनुपयुक्त अधीनता में नहीं देना है; प्रभु की सेवकाई में होने के नाते, उसे मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने वाला नहीं बनना है (गलातियों 1:10)। हम 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15 से सीखते हैं कि विश्वासी को अपने लिए नहीं परन्तु प्रभु के लिए जीना है, अर्थात हर बात के लिये पहले प्रभु की इच्छा को जान कर (इफिसियों 5:17), फिर केवल उसी को पूरा करने के लिए जीना है; न कि लोगों के अनुसार और उन्हें प्रसन्न करने के लिए।

शैतान विभिन्न युक्तियों और प्रलोभनों, और अन्य बातों के द्वारा विश्वासी को परमेश्वर की संपत्ति और पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर होने के उद्देश्य को पूरा करने से बाधित करता है। अगले लेख में हम विश्वासी के लिए 1 कुरिन्थियों 6:20 में कही गयी ज़िम्मेदारी, शरीर और आत्मा द्वारा परमेश्वर की महिमा करने के बारे में देखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Holy Spirit – Always With Us – 2

 

We have been studying about the stewardship of the provisions God has given to every truly Born-Again Christian Believer. One of these is the Holy Spirit, who comes to reside in every person from the moment he accepts the Lord Jesus as his savior. From then onwards, every truly Born-Again Christian Believer, automatically becomes the Temple and also a steward of the Holy Spirit. We have seen from John 14:16 that the Holy Spirit has been given to the Christian Believers by God to be their Helper and Companion, to teach and guide them in their ministry; and to always be with them. Having seen about His role as the Believer’s Helper and Companion, since the last article we have begun to see about the Holy Spirit being with and in the Believers; the Believers being His Temple, and God the Holy Spirit residing in them from 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20. These verses imply one very important fact, its two consequences, and the responsibilities of the Believer. The important fact, that we have considered in the previous article, is that it is God who gives the Holy Spirit to every Believer irrespective of their spiritual status, physical or spiritual age, maturity, and the ministry that God has given to them. Today we will consider the consequences, as stated in these verses.

From 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, for every Believer, the two consequences of having God the Holy Spirit residing in them are, firstly they become the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and secondly, they are no longer their own, they now belong to God, having been bought with a price – the blood and life of Lord Jesus.

 

How do we understand the Believer’s being the Temple of God the Holy Spirit? The Lord Jesus stated the purpose of the Temple of God in John 2:14-17 and Matthew 21:13. From John 2:14-17 we learn that the Temple was not meant to be a place of merchandise, i.e., of exploiting people; nor was it meant to be for earning temporal riches in the name of God. And from Matthew 21:13 we learn that it was meant to be a house of prayer, a place where one can commune with God. From the Lord’s statements we can understand what the Believer should be before the world, as the Temple of the Holy Spirit. The Believer should not use his God given ministry and the Lord’s name to earn worldly wealth, but should be one who helps and guides the people of the world to come in touch with and commune with God – to be the bearer of the Gospel for the people of the world, and pointing them towards eternal heavenly riches, instead of earthly possessions. This change must be clearly seen in their lives (Romans 12:1-2); not only in relation to temporal things, but also in mentality and behavior, as is given in Colossians chapter 3.

To understand the Believer no longer being his own, but being a possession of God, since he has been bought at the cost of the life of the Lord Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:10; Titus 2:14), consider two verses: “You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men” (1 Corinthians 7:23), and “and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again” (2 Corinthians 5:15). From 1 Corinthians 7:23 we understand that since the Believer belongs to the Lord, therefore, he is not to put himself into any undue or inappropriate subjugation of any man; being in the service of the Lord he is not to be a ‘man-pleaser’ (Galatians 1:10). From 2 Corinthians 5:15 we learn that the Believer is to live not for himself, but for the Lord, i.e., for everything to first know the will of the Lord (Ephesians 5:17), and then live to do only that which pleases the Lord, instead of living according to men and trying to please the people.

Satan, in various ways, tries various ploys, temptations and other things, to make the Believers not fulfil these functions of being the Temple of the Holy Spirit and the possession of God. In the next article we will see about the responsibility of a Believer mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6:20 – glorify God in body and spirit.
