प्रश्न:

    एक बार जो व्यक्ति उद्धार पा गया तो क्या वह विश्वास से भटक जाने के बाद स्वर्ग जाएगा?

उत्तर:

    जिसने भी उद्धार पाया है, अर्थात, स्वेच्छा तथा सच्चे मन से, अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु मसीह को अपना निज उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार किया है, उससे अपने पापों की क्षमा माँगी है, और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित किया है, परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से केवल वही व्यक्ति स्वर्ग जाएगा – लेकिन मनुष्य की वास्तवक आत्मिक दशा केवल परमेश्वर ही जानता है, इसलिए कौन स्वर्ग जाएगा और कौन नहीं, इसका निर्धारण केवल परमेश्वर ही कर सकता है, और कोई नहीं।

    परमेश्वर के वचन, बाइबल के अनुसार, यह बिलकुल स्पष्ट और स्थापित है कि उद्धार सदा काल के लिए है अर्थात ‘eternal’ है। इब्रानियों की पत्री का लेखक, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के द्वारा मनुष्यों को उद्धार प्रदान करने के लिए किए गए कार्यों के विषय लिखता है, “और पुत्र होने पर भी, उसने दुख उठा उठा कर आज्ञा माननी सीखी। और सिद्ध बन कर, अपने सब आज्ञा मानने वालों के लिये सदा काल के उद्धार (eternal salvation) का कारण हो गया” (इब्रानियों 5:8-9)। प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने भी कहा कि उस पर विश्वास लाए हुए उसके लोगों को वह अनन्त जीवन (अर्थात कभी समाप्त न होने वाला अक्षय जीवन, eternal life) प्रदान करता है, तथा साथ ही यह आश्वासन भी दिया कि कोई भी प्रभु या परमेश्वर के हाथों से उन अनन्त जीवन पाए हुओं को नहीं छीन सकता है (यूहन्ना 10:27-29) – प्रभु का यह वायदा बहुत ही गंभीर एवं बहुत महत्वपूर्ण तात्पर्य रखने वाला कथन है। प्रभु के इस वायदे के आधार पर, उद्धार खो देने का अभिप्राय होता है कि, शैतान ने किसी विधि से उन उद्धार पाए हुए व्यक्तियों को प्रभु या परमेश्वर के हाथ से छीन कर फिर से अपनी आधीनता में ले लिया है। यदि किसी भी प्रकार यह संभव होता, तो फिर तीन असंभव बातें संभव हो जाती हैं – पहली यह कि शैतान परमेश्वर से अधिक शक्तिशाली है; दूसरी यह प्रभु यीशु ने झूठ बोला, उसने झूठा आश्वासन दिया कि कोई भी उद्धार पाए हुओं को उसके या परमेश्वर पिता के हाथों से छीन नहीं सकता है; और तीसरी यह कि प्रभु को न शैतान की, न अपनी और न परमेश्वर की शक्ति की वास्तविकताओं का पता है, और वह यूं ही कुछ भी कहे जा रहा है! क्योंकि यह हो पाना पूर्णतः असंभव है, इसलिए प्रगट है कि कोई भी व्यक्ति, जिसने वास्तव में उद्धार पाया है, वह यूहन्ना 10:27-29 के आधार पर अपना उद्धार कभी भी नहीं खो सकता है। और क्योंकि उद्धार पाए हुओं पर दण्ड की कोई आज्ञा नहीं है (रोमियों 8:1), इसलिए जो वास्तव में उद्धार पाए हुए हैं, वे स्वर्ग में अवश्य ही प्रवेश करेंगे, चाहे विश्वास में उनकी परिपक्वता एवं स्थिति का स्तर कुछ भी क्यों न हो।

    किन्तु यह बात केवल परमेश्वर ही जानता है कि कौन वास्तविक मसीही विश्वासी है और कौन नहीं। उदाहरण के लिए युहूदा इस्करियोती को ही लीजिए; वह प्रभु द्वारा बुलाया गया, प्रभु के साथ रहा, प्रभु से शिक्षा पाई, प्रभु की सामर्थ्य और निर्देशन द्वारा, अन्य शिष्यों के साथ सुसमाचार प्रचार पर भी गया और उनके साथ मिलकर प्रचार किया, आश्चर्यकर्म भी किए, किन्तु अन्त में वह प्रभु के द्वारा ‘विनाश का पुत्र’ और ‘नाश होने वाला’ कहा गया (यूहन्ना 17:12), और अनन्त विनाश में चला गया। प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने भी अपने पहाड़ी प्रचार के अन्त में कहा है कि हर कोई जो उन्हें ‘हे प्रभु’ कहता है, वह स्वर्ग में प्रवेश नहीं करेगा, चाहे उन्होंने प्रभु के नाम में कई प्रकार के प्रचार, आश्चर्यकर्म, तथा अद्भुत एवँ उल्लेखनीय कार्य ही क्यों न किए हों – प्रभु ने उन लोगों के इन कामों को ‘कुकर्म’ कहा ; स्वर्ग में केवल वे ही प्रवेश करेंगे जो परमेश्वर पिता के आज्ञाकारी रहते हैं और परमेश्वर की इच्छे के अनुसार कार्य करते हैं (मत्ती 7:21-23)। इसलिए लोगों के प्रगट व्यवहार, प्रचार, और कार्यों के आधार पर हम किसी भी मनुष्य के विषय यह निश्चित नहीं कह सकते हैं कि प्रभु में विश्वास रखने का दावा करने और उसके नाम से प्रचार और कार्य करने वाला प्रत्येक व्यक्ति वास्तव में उद्धार पाया हुआ है भी कि नहीं! पौलुस ने भी इस बात के विषय सचेत किया और समझाया कि शैतान और उसके दूत भी ज्योतिर्मय स्वर्गदूतों और मसीह के प्रेरितों का स्वरूप धारण कर के लोगों को बहकाते हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3, 13-15)। इसलिए व्यक्ति के उद्धार पाया हुआ होने की वास्तविकता तो केवल परमेश्वर ही जानता है, और वही इसका निर्णय कर सकता है, तथा करता है।

    साथ ही, बाइबल यह भी कहती है कि ऐसे भी मसीही विश्वासी पाए जाएँगे जो सच्चे मन से पश्चाताप करके प्रभु के पास तो आए, वे वास्तव में उद्धार पाए हुए भी थे, किन्तु उन्होंने प्रभु के लिए ऐसा कुछ नहीं किया जो जांचे जाने पर प्रतिफल दिए जाने के योग्य स्वीकार किया जाता। जब न्याय के समय उनके काम जांचे जाएँगे, तो वे उद्धार पाया हुआ होने के कारण स्वर्ग में तो प्रवेश करेंगे, परन्तु छूछे हाथ, बिना कुछ भी प्रतिफल लिए, और अनन्त-काल तक फिर ऐसे ही छूछे हाथ ही रहेंगे (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:9-15)। सँसार के सभी लोगों के समान, किए गए कर्मों के अनुसार, न्याय तो मसीही विश्वासियों का भी होगा, वरन न्याय आरंभ ही मसीही विश्वासियों से होगा (1 पतरस 4:17-18), परन्तु मसीही विश्वासियों का यह न्याय उनके उद्धार पाने के लिए नहीं, वरन अनन्तकाल के लिए उनके कर्मों के आधार पर उन्हें प्रतिफल दिए जाने के लिए होगा – उद्धार कर्मों के आधार पर नहीं है, परन्तु प्रतिफल कर्मों के आधार पर हैं। उद्धार तो केवल पापों से पश्चाताप और प्रभु यीशु पर लाए विश्वास के आधार पर परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह ही से है; किसी भी या कैसे भी कामों, अथवा प्रथाओं, या रीति-रिवाजों, या अनुष्ठानों/विधि-विधानों आदि के पालन के द्वारा कदापि नहीं है (इफिसियों 2:1-9)।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Will Back-Sliders go to Heaven? - Part (1)

Question:

    Once a person is saved, if he back-slides, then will he go to heaven?

Answer:

    Whosoever has been saved, i.e., voluntarily and with a true heart, has repented of his sins, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior, has asked for forgiveness of his sins from Him, and has submitted his life to Him, only that person will go to heaven by the grace of God – but only God knows the actual spiritual condition of man, therefore it is only God who can decide on who will go to heaven, and who will not.

    According to God’s Word, the Bible, it is very clear and firmly established that salvation is forever, i.e. is eternal. The writer of the epistle to Hebrews, writing about the Lord Jesus Christ’s work to provide salvation to mankind writes, “though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,” (Hebrews 5:8-9). The Lord Jesus also said that He will give eternal life to all who believe in Him (i.e. an endless and indestructible life for all eternity, eternal life) and at the same time also assured that no one will be able to take the saved ones out of the Lord’s, or God’s hands (John 10:27-29) – this statement of the Lord has very serious and extremely important implications. On the basis of this promise from the Lord, to lose one’s salvation implies that, somehow Satan has been able to snatch away the saved persons from the Lord’s, or God’s hands, and taken possession of them again. If at all somehow this were to be possible, it would mean that three impossibilities have become possible – first, that Satan is more powerful than God; second, that the Lord Jesus spoke a lie, He gave a false assurance that no one will be able to take away a saved person from the hand of the Lord or of God; and third, that the Lord does not know about Satan’s power or His own power, or God’s power; He is just saying things without any basis! Since any and all of this is an absolute impossibility and can never happen, therefore it is evident that any person who has been saved, on the basis of John 10:27-29 can never ever lose his salvation. And since those who are saved are no longer under any condemnation (Romans 8:1), therefore those who are actually saved, will most certainly enter heaven, whatever be their state of maturity in faith and standing in spirituality.

    But it is only the Lord God who knows, who is an actual Christian Believer and who is not. For example, take Judas Iscariot; he was called to be a disciple by the Lord, he stayed in fellowship with the Lord, he learnt from the Lord, he too went for preaching in the power and instructions from the Lord, along with the other disciples, and along with the disciples he too preached the gospel, he too did miracles, but in the end he was called ‘the son of perdition’ and ‘the only one lost’ (John 17:12), and went into eternal destruction. The Lord Jesus towards the end of His Sermon on the Mount had said that not everyone who calls Him ‘Lord’ will enter into heaven, even though they may have abundantly preached, worked miracles and done other remarkable works in the Lord’s name – the Lord called all such works as ‘iniquity’ – and made it clear that only they will enter heaven who are obedient to God and work according to the will of God (Matthew 7:21-23). Therefore on the basis of the evident behavior, preaching, and works of any person we can never say for sure that all those who claim to believe in the Lord and everyone who preaches or works in His name, is actually a saved person! Paul also cautioned and exhorted that Satan and his angels come as angels of light and apostles of Christ to deceive people (2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15). Therefore it is only God who knows the fact of a person’s being saved, and only He can decide, and does decide, about a person’s being saved or not.

    The Bible also says that there will be Christian Believers who truly repented and came to the Lord with a true heart, they were really saved, but they did not do anything that could be considered worthy of being rewarded by the Lord. At the time of judgement when their works are evaluated, they will surely enter heaven because they are saved, but will enter empty handed, without any rewards, and remain so forever for all eternity (1 Corinthians 3:9-15). Like for everyone else in the world, even the Christian Believers will face judgment on the basis of their works, rather, the beginning of judgement will be with the Christian Believers (1 Peter 4:17-18), but the judgement of the Christian Believers will not be for their salvation, but for giving them eternal rewards based on the evaluation of their works – salvation is not based upon works, but rewards are based on works. Salvation is only by the grace of God through repentance from sins and coming to faith in the Lord Jesus; not through any works of any kind, nor by fulfilling any traditions, or rituals, or carrying out religious observances of any kind (Ephesians 2:1-9).

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    जब एक बार हम सच्चे सुसमाचार के गुण पहचान जाते हैं, तब फिर हम उनका प्रयोग प्रत्येक अन्य शिक्षा एवँ सिद्धान्त की वास्तविकता और सत्यता को जाँचने के लिए कर सकते हैं। पवित्र-आत्मा ने, पौलुस प्रेरित में होकर गलत सुसमाचार को पहचानने के कुछ चिन्ह गलातियों 1:3-9 में दिए हैं, और साथ ही चेतावनी भी दी है कि जो सुसमाचार पहले-पहल दे दिया गया है, उसे यदि पौलुस या कोई स्वर्गदूत भी आकर बदलना या भिन्न प्रकार से व्यक्त करना चाहे, तो उसे कदापि स्वीकार नहीं किया जाए।

    गलातियों 1:3-9 का लेख इस प्रकार से है:

• गलातियों 1:3 परमेश्वर पिता, और हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह की ओर से तुम्हें अनुग्रह और शान्‍ति मिलती रहे।
• गलातियों 1:4 उसी ने अपने आप को हमारे पापों के लिये दे दिया, ताकि हमारे परमेश्वर और पिता की इच्छा के अनुसार हमें इस वर्तमान बुरे संसार से छुड़ाए।
• गलातियों 1:5 उस की स्‍तुति और बड़ाई युगानुयुग होती रहे। आमीन।
• गलातियों 1:6 मुझे आश्चर्य होता है, कि जिसने तुम्हें मसीह के अनुग्रह से बुलाया उस से तुम इतनी जल्दी फिर कर और ही प्रकार के सुसमाचार की ओर झुकने लगे।
• गलातियों 1:7 परन्तु वह दूसरा सुसमाचार है ही नहीं: पर बात यह है, कि कितने ऐसे हैं, जो तुम्हें घबरा देते, और मसीह के सुसमाचार को बिगाड़ना चाहते हैं।
• गलातियों 1:8 परन्तु यदि हम या स्वर्ग से कोई दूत भी उस सुसमाचार को छोड़ जो हम ने तुम को सुनाया है, कोई और सुसमाचार तुम्हें सुनाए, तो श्रापित हो।
• गलातियों 1:9 जैसा हम पहिले कह चुके हैं, वैसा ही मैं अब फिर कहता हूं, कि उस सुसमाचार को छोड़ जिसे तुम ने ग्रहण किया है, यदि कोई और सुसमाचार सुनाता है, तो श्रापित हो। अब मैं क्या मनुष्यों को मनाता हूं या परमेश्वर को? क्या मैं मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करना चाहता हूं?

    इस खण्ड से सच्चे सुसमाचार के बारे में हम निम्न तथ्य और विशेषताएं सीख सकते हैं:

• आयत 3. सच्चे सुसमाचार के साथ परमेश्वर का अनुग्रह और शान्ति आते हैं; वह मतभेदों, विवादों और संघर्षो का कारण अथवा स्त्रोत नहीं होता है। ऐसी कोई भी शिक्षा जो परमेश्वर तथा प्रभु यीशु को हमारे जीवनों में समस्त अनुग्रह और शान्ति का स्वाभाविक स्त्रोत नहीं बनाती है, वरन परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह और शान्ति को प्राप्त करने के लिए किसी भी प्रकार के मानवीय प्रयासों और कर्मों को आधार बनाती है, या उसे साधारण विश्वास के द्वारा ग्रहण करने के स्थान पर कुछ कर्म या धार्मिकता के निर्वाह के द्वारा उस अनुग्रह और शान्ति को ‘कमाने’ का प्रयास करती है, वह सच्चा सुसमाचार नहीं है। जब प्रभु यीशु की शान्ति तो प्रभु के प्रत्येक अनुयायी के लिए प्रभु द्वारा पहले से ही प्रदान कर दी गई है (यूहन्ना 14:27; 16:33) तो फिर उसे प्राप्त करने के लिए किसी को अपना और कोई प्रयास क्यों करना पड़ेगा?
• आयत 4. ऐसी कोई भी शिक्षा या सिद्धान्त या धर्म और धार्मिकता जो हमें पापों से बचाने तथा परमेश्वर के सम्मुख धर्मी ठहराने के लिए कलवरी के क्रूस पर प्रभु यीशु द्वारा सिद्ध किए गए बलिदान के कार्य के अतिरिक्त और कुछ भी करने या निभाने को कहती है, वह झूठा सुसमाचार, गलत शिक्षा है; और उसका तुरंत ही पूर्णतः तिरिस्कार किया जाना चाहिए। हमारे उद्धार और पापों से छुटकारे के लिए जो कुछ प्रभु यीशु ने कर के दे दिया है वही पूर्ण है और सिद्ध है, उसे और अधिक कारगर करने के लिए उसमें और कुछ भी नहीं, बिलकुल कुछ नहीं, जोड़ा जा सकता है; और न ही कुछ और प्रभु के उस बलिदान का स्थान ले सकता है – न बपतिस्मा, न प्रभु-भोज में सम्मिलित होना, न दृढ़ीकरण, न कोई अन्य रीति-रिवाज़ अथवा प्रथा या त्यौहार का निर्वाह।
• आयत 5. सच्चे सुसमाचार से संलग्न रहना तथा उसका पालन करना सदा ही परमेश्वर और प्रभु यीशु मसीह को महिमा देता है। सच्चा सुसमाचार कभी भी किसी भी मनुष्य को आदर और महिमा नहीं देता है; वरन वह मनुष्य के पाप और पापी स्वभाव को उजागर करता है, परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह को पाप के समाधान के लिए प्रदान करता है, और जो परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह के द्वारा बचाए और छुड़ाए गए हैं उन से उनके उद्धार, परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश, और परमेश्वर के साथ संगति में बहाल किए जाने के लिए, किसी मनुष्य की बड़ाई करवाने या उसे आदरणीय बनाने के स्थान पर परमेश्वर की महिमा और स्तुति करवाता है। वह जो मनुष्यों की महिमा और आदर करता है या किसी भी रीति से परमेश्वर की महिमा में से चुराता है, वह सच्चा सुसमाचार नहीं है।
• आयतें 6, 7. वह ‘दूसरा सुसमाचार’ इसलिए ‘और ही प्रकार’ का है क्योंकि ‘मसीह के अनुग्रह’ को सबसे प्रथम और सबसे उत्तम महत्व का प्रस्तुत करने की बजाए, वह लोगों को उद्धार की इस प्राथमिक आवश्यकता एवँ अनिवार्यता – अनुग्रह, से दूर ले जाता है। वह ‘दूसरा सुसमाचार’ और ही बातों जैसे कि ‘भले कार्य’, ‘धार्मिकता या पवित्रता का जीवन’, या ‘आश्चर्यकर्म करने’ आदि पर बल देता है, उनकी ओर ध्यान आकर्षित करता है; वह स्वर्गीय धन एकत्रित करने की बजाए सांसारिक संपत्ति और बढ़ोतरी की ओर ध्यान केंद्रित करता है (कुलुस्सियों 3:1-2)। वह दान करने, तप-तपस्या करने, तीर्थ-यात्राएं करने, ‘संतों’ तथा अन्य मनुष्यों को आदरणीय या पूजनीय समझने; दार्शनिक विचारों, बाइबल का किताबी ज्ञान रखने, चर्च में पदवी या महत्वपूर्ण स्थान पाने और बनाए रखने, आदि पर बल देता है परन्तु उस ‘दूसरे सुसमाचार’ या ‘और ही प्रकार’ के सुसमाचार में जो सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात अनुपस्थित होती है वह है परमेश्वर के सम्मुख ग्रहण योग्य होने के लिए केवल मसीह के अनुग्रह की एकमात्र अनिवार्यता को स्वीकार करना (कुलुस्सियों 2)। झूठे या गलत सुसमाचार से अन्ततः कलीसिया में समस्याएँ, संघर्ष, विवाद, दुखदायी एवँ बाधित और बिगड़े हुए संबंध, अपने आप को बड़ा दिखाने की प्रवृत्ति, अहम और उससे संबंधित समस्याएँ, नाश्मान और सांसारिक वस्तुएँ एवँ ओहदे पाने की लालसाएं तथा प्रयास, आदि दिखाई देंगे न कि परमेश्वर का अनुग्रह और शान्ति, जैसा कि ऊपर आयत 3 में कहा गया है।
• आयतें 8, 9. सुसमाचार जो सदाकाल के लिए एक ही बार दे दिया गया है वह अपरिवर्तनीय है, उसमें न तो कुछ जोड़ा जा सकता है और न ही कुछ उसमें से घटाया जा सकता है, वरन शैतान की धूर्तता के हमलों से उसकी यत्न के साथ रक्षा करने की आवश्यकता है (यहूदा 1:3). कोई भी नहीं, न पौलुस, न कोई स्वर्गदूत, न कोई और – वह चाहे कितना भी कीर्ति प्राप्त या आदरणीय क्यों न हो, प्रथम कलीसिया को सदा काल के लिए एक ही बार दिए गए उस सुसमाचार में वह कोई भी, कैसा भी परिवर्तन या ‘सुधार’ नहीं कर सकता है (प्रेरितों 2:37-40; 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-4)। इस प्राथमिक और आधारभूत सुसमाचार में जो कुछ भी विद्यमान नहीं है, जो कुछ भी उससे भिन्न है, वह ‘और ही सुसमाचार’ है –शैतान से आया हुआ सच्चे सुसमाचार का भ्रष्ट रूप है, और उसे न तो कोई महत्व दिया जाना चाहिए और न ही स्वीकार किया जाना चाहिए, उसका अनुसरण या पालन करना तो बहुत दूर की बात है। परमेश्वर का वचन इस ‘दूसरे सुसमाचार’ को धोखे से सिखाने वालों को ‘श्रापित’ कहता है; और जिसे परमेश्वर ने श्रापित कहा हो उससे कुछ भी आशीषित अथवा महिमायोग्य प्राप्त होने की आशा रखना मूर्खतापूर्ण और बिलकुल गलत है।

    पौलुस द्वारा दिए गए निर्देश “तुम मेरी सी चाल चलो जैसा मैं मसीह की सी चाल चलता हूं” (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:1), तथा पवित्र-आत्मा की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन में परमेश्वर, मसीह यीशु, उद्धार आदि से संबंधित सभी शिक्षाओं को उपरोक्त गुणों तथा विशेषताओं के अनुसार जांचने (और साथ ही 1 कुरिन्थियों 15; कुलुस्सियों 2 & 3 की शिक्षाओं के आधार पर भी आँकलन करने) के द्वारा सही को गलत से अलग किया जा सकता है, वास्तविकता को पहचाना जा सकता है।

English Translation

True Gospel versus False Beliefs and False Doctrines - Part (2)

    Once we know the characteristics of the true Gospel, we can always use them as the standard to compare every other doctrine and determine whether or not it is genuine. The Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul gives us some pointers to identify the wrong Gospel in Galatians 1:3-9, and warns us that other than the Gospel already stated, even if Paul himself or an angel tries to modify it or re-state it in a different manner, it is not to be accepted. 

    The text of Galatians 1:3-9 is as follows:

• Galatians 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,
• Galatians 1:4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
• Galatians 1:5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
• Galatians 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
• Galatians 1:7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
• Galatians 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
• Galatians 1:9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

    We can glean the following facts and characteristics regarding the true Gospel from this passage:

• Verse 3. The true Gospel brings God’s grace and peace with it; it is not a source of differences, contentions or strife. Any teaching that does not place God and the Lord Jesus as the source of all grace and peace in our lives, instead if it emphasizes on any kind of human efforts and works to attain God’s grace and peace, or asking to do something to “earn it” instead of receiving it by faith through the grace of God, is not the true Gospel. Since the peace of the Lord Jesus is already granted to every disciple of His (John 14:27; 16:33), so why would anyone have to make any efforts of his own to obtain it?
• Verse 4. Any teaching or doctrine or religion that speaks of anything other than, or of anything in addition to the accomplished work on the Cross of Calvary by the Lord Jesus, to save us from our sins and to justify us before God, is a false Gospel, a false doctrine, a false teaching; and ought to be rejected outright. Nothing, absolutely nothing, not even things like Baptism, participation in the Lord’s Table, Confirmation, or any other ritual or practice can in any way supplement or supplant what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for the salvation and redemption of mankind.
• Verse 5. Adherence to and following the true Gospel always glorifies God and the Lord Jesus. The true gospel never ever glorifies man; rather, it exposes the sinfulness of man, provides the grace of God as the remedy to sin, and causes the redeemed and saved by God’s grace to glorify God rather than exalt or venerate any human being in any manner, for anything related to salvation, Kingdom of God, and restoration to fellowship with God. That which glorifies any human being, or in any manner takes away from God’s glory, is not the true Gospel.
• Verses 6, 7. The ‘different gospel’’ is different because instead of emphasizing and presenting the ‘grace of Christ’ as something of first and foremost importance, leads people away from this primary requirement for salvation - grace. The ‘different gospel’’ may emphasize on things like ‘good works,’ ‘pious or holy living,’ ‘working of miracles’; it may focus on worldly gains and prosperity rather than accumulating heavenly gains (Colossians 3:1-2); on alms, penances, pilgrimages, veneration of saints and other humans; on philosophy, Bible knowledge, status in Church hierarchy, etc. but the one crucial thing missing in that ‘different’ or false gospel will be the emphasis and sole necessity of the grace of Christ for being right with God, for being acceptable to God (Colossians 2). The false Gospel will eventually lead to problems, strife, contentions, hurt and broken relationships, one-upmanship, ego problems, desire and efforts for gaining temporal status and things, etc. instead of the grace and peace of God, as stated in vs. 3.
• Verses 8, 9. The Gospel that has once and for all times been delivered is immutable, and cannot be added to or subtracted from, but has to be diligently defended from Satan’s devious ploys (Jude 1:3). No one, not Paul, not any angel, not anyone – howsoever accomplished or worthy of honor he or she may be, can ever make any changes or modifications to the Gospel delivered once and for all times at the beginning of the first Church (Acts 2:37-40; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Anything not found in this primary Gospel, is a ‘different gospel’ – a perversion of the true gospel that has come from the devil, and is not to be accepted or given any credence, let alone be followed. God’s Word calls the purveyors of this false or ‘different’ gospel as ‘accursed’ and it would be patently false and naïve to expect anything blessed from someone or something accursed from God.

    By following Paul’s exhortation “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1), and subjecting all teachings and doctrines related to God, salvation, and Christ Jesus to the above criteria (and of teachings from 1 Corinthians 15; Colossians 2 & 3), and through the help and guidance of God’s Holy Spirit the genuine can readily be separated from the false.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    प्रश्न: क्या हम प्रभु यीशु मसीह और उसके सुसमाचार के सत्य के बारे में गलत विश्वास या झूठे सिद्धांतों को मानने वालों या पालन करने वालों से भी सीख सकते हैं? हम सच्चे सुसमाचार को कैसे पहचान सकते हैं?

    उत्तर: 

    यह जाना-पहचाना तथ्य है और आम देखा जाता है कि, किसी जाने-माने उत्पाद की नकल बेचने के लिए, धोखा देने वाले उस नकल का बाहरी स्वरूप असली के समान जितना अधिक बना सकें बनाते हैं, जिससे लोग उस नकली को असली समझ कर उसे स्वीकार कर लें और ले लें, इस विश्वास में कि यह असली ही है। लेकिन जब लोग उस नकली का प्रयोग करना आरंभ करते हैं, तब ही पहचान होती है कि जो दावा किया गया था वह वो नहीं है – उसके गुण वास्तविक असली उत्पाद के समान नहीं हैं, और न ही वह उतना कारगर है जितना उसे होना चाहिए।

    यही बात बाइबल में दिए सच्चे सुसमाचार और परमेश्वर की शिक्षाओं के लिए भी सही है। शैतान ने, लोगों को धोखा देने के लिए, सँसार में अनेकों प्रकार के नकली सुसमाचार और परमेश्वर के वचन की गलत शिक्षाएँ फैला दी हैं। ये झूठे सुसमाचार असली के समान ही प्रतीत होते हैं, परन्तु उनमें सदा ही कुछ-न-कुछ गलतियाँ या सच्चे सुसमाचार से कुछ भिन्नता होती है, जो चाहे तुरंत ही प्रगट न हो, परन्तु देर-सवेर प्रगट हो ही जाती हैं। साथ ही, इस तर्क को स्वीकार कर लेना कि झूठे धार्मिक विश्वास एवँ सिद्धांतों के द्वारा भी परमेश्वर हमें सचेत करता और सिखाता है,  यह कहना है कि परमेश्वर गलत और असत्य के द्वारा भी “…मार्ग, सत्य, और जीवन…” (यूहन्ना 14:6) के बारे में हमें सिखाता है – जो कि बिलकुल गलत तथा कदापि स्वीकार न हो सकने वाली धारणा है, जो परमेश्वर के चरित्र और गुणों के विपरीत जाती है, और बाइबल की शिक्षाओं के बिलकुल उलट है। 

    इस कथन के समर्थन में, बाइबल से लिए गए कुछ खण्ड देखिए:

• हम प्रेरितों 16:16-18 में देखते हैं कि पौलुस एक लड़की में से दुष्टात्मा को निकालता है, जबकि वह लड़की यही कह रही थी कि " ...ये मनुष्य परमप्रधान परमेश्वर के दास हैं, जो हमें उद्धार के मार्ग की कथा सुनाते हैं" (प्रेरितों 16:17) – यह सत्य तो था, किन्तु किसी ऐसे से आ रहा था जो परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं है।
• याकूब कहता है, “जब किसी की परीक्षा हो, तो वह यह न कहे, कि मेरी परीक्षा परमेश्वर की ओर से होती है; क्योंकि न तो बुरी बातों से परमेश्वर की परीक्षा हो सकती है, और न वह किसी की परीक्षा आप करता है।” (याकूब 1:13); और “क्योंकि हर एक अच्छा वरदान और हर एक उत्तम दान ऊपर ही से है, और ज्योतियों के पिता की ओर से मिलता है, जिस में न तो कोई परिवर्तन हो सकता है, ओर न अदल बदल के कारण उस पर छाया पड़ती है” (याकूब 1:17).

    बाइबल में बारंबार, परमेश्वर की पूर्ण सत्यता, कभी न बदलने वाली ईमानदारी, किसी भी संदेह की संभावना से भी से परे सत्यनिष्ठा, पर बल दिया गया है; अर्थात इसपर कि परमेश्वर का चरित्र और व्यवहार किसी भी संदेह या दोषारोपण की संभावना से बिलकुल बाहर हैं। न तो परमेश्वर ने कभी किया है, और न ही वह कभी यह करेगा कि अपने वचन के प्रचार और प्रसार के लिए गलत धार्मिक सिद्धांतों और शिक्षाओं का सहारा ले, जबकि उसने मानव-जाति को अपना सत्य एवँ जीवित वचन दे दिया है, और अपने इस वचन को सिखाने के लिए अपने लोगों को अपना पवित्र-आत्मा भी प्रदान किया है (यूहन्ना 14:26; 16:13-15; 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:11-14)। प्रभु यीशु ने पुनरुत्थान के पश्चात अपने स्वर्गारोहण से पहले अपनी महान आज्ञा में अपने शिष्यों से कहा था कि वे जाकर सँसार के लोगों को उसका वचन सिखाएँ न कि मनुष्य की बुद्धि से उपजी कोई गढ़ी हुई शिक्षाएँ और बातें सिखाएँ (मत्ती 28:18-20)।

    परन्तु शैतान, अपने असत्य, झूठी शिक्षाओं और गलत सिद्धांतों आदि को स्वीकार्य बनाने के लिए, अपने धोखे और आडंबर को परमेश्वर के वचन के समान दिखाता है, बड़ी चतुराई से गलत बातों को धार्मिकता और ग्रहण योग्य होने के आवरण के पीछे छुपाता है (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15; कुलुस्सियों 2:4-8; 16-23)। इसलिए यह अत्यंत आवश्यक है कि हम अपने आप को परमेश्वर के वचन की सच्चाइयों में स्थापित कर लें तथा और कुछ को नहीं, परन्तु केवल बाइबल को ही सभी शिक्षाओं, धार्मिकता, और सिद्धांतों को परखने और उनकी वास्तवकिता जाँचने के मानक के रूप में प्रयोग करें,  (प्रेरितों 17:11; 2 तिमुथियुस 3:16-17; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। जो कुछ भी परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार नहीं है, या किसी भी रीति से वचन का खंडन करता है या उससे असंगत है; या ऐसी कोई भी शिक्षा जो उस विषय पर बाइबल में कही गई सभी बातों के साथ पूर्णतः मेल नहीं खाती है या उनके मापदंडों पर पूर्णतः खरी नहीं उतरती है; या ऐसी कोई भी बात जो सँसार के रीति-रिवाज़ों अथवा बातों, या मनुष्यों की बुद्धि और व्यवहार से उत्पन्न होकर बाइबल की मसीही शिक्षाओं में लाई गई और मिलाई गई हैं (मत्ती 15:3-9), वह गलत सिद्धान्त है, गढ़ी हुई झूठी धार्मिकता है, जो परमेश्वर को अप्रसन्न करती है तथा उसे अस्वीकार्य है, और उसकी पूर्णतः अवहेलना करनी चाहिए, उसका संपूर्ण तिरिस्कार किया जाना चाहिए।

    सच्चा सुसमाचार, 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-4 में लिखा है – “हे भाइयों, मैं तुम्हें वही सुसमाचार बताता हूं जो पहिले सुना चुका हूं, जिसे तुम ने अंगीकार भी किया था और जिस में तुम स्थिर भी हो। उसी के द्वारा तुम्हारा उद्धार भी होता है, यदि उस सुसमाचार को जो मैं ने तुम्हें सुनाया था स्मरण रखते हो; नहीं तो तुम्हारा विश्वास करना व्यर्थ हुआ। इसी कारण मैं ने सब से पहिले तुम्हें वही बात पहुंचा दी, जो मुझे पहुंची थी, कि पवित्र शास्त्र के वचन के अनुसार यीशु मसीह हमारे पापों के लिये मर गया। और गाड़ा गया; और पवित्र शास्त्र के अनुसार तीसरे दिन जी भी उठा” (1 कुरिन्थियों 15 बाइबल का ‘सुसमाचार अध्याय’ है – सुसमाचार से संबंधित विभिन्न सत्यों को सीखने और समझने के लिए इसका अध्ययन अवश्य कीजिए)। कृपया ध्यान दें, सच्चा सुसमाचार, जैसा कि पवित्र-शास्त्र में कहा गया है, परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार है न कि मनुष्यों की चतुराई से आया है; दूसरे शब्दों में, सच्चे सुसमाचार में ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है जो पहले से पवित्र-शास्त्र में लिखा नहीं गया है।

• इब्रानियों 10:5-9 में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा कहे गए वचन हैं जो उन्होंने स्वर्ग छोड़कर पृथ्वी पर आने से ठीक पहले कहे थे; वहाँ लिखा है: “इसी कारण वह जगत में आते समय कहता है, कि बलिदान और भेंट तू ने न चाही, पर मेरे लिये एक देह तैयार किया। होम-बलियों और पाप-बलियों से तू प्रसन्न नहीं हुआ। तब मैं ने कहा, देख, मैं आ गया हूं, (पवित्र शास्त्र में मेरे विषय में लिखा हुआ है) ताकि हे परमेश्वर तेरी इच्छा पूरी करूं। ऊपर तो वह कहता है, कि न तू ने बलिदान और भेंट और होम-बलियों और पाप-बलियों को चाहा, और न उन से प्रसन्न हुआ; यद्यपि ये बलिदान तो व्यवस्था के अनुसार चढ़ाए जाते हैं। फिर यह भी कहता है, कि देख, मैं आ गया हूं, ताकि तेरी इच्छा पूरी करूं; निदान वह पहिले को उठा देता है, ताकि दूसरे को नियुक्त करे।” प्रभु यीशु ने विशेषतः यह कहा कि उनका कार्य पहले से ही लिखा गया है “पवित्र शास्त्र में मेरे विषय में लिखा हुआ है ” और वे वही करेंगे जो उनके विषय लिखा गया है, वे परमेश्वर की इच्छा को पूरी करेंगे; अर्थात, उसे पूरा करेंगे जो पहले से लिखा जा चुका है; मसीह यीशु ने कोई नई बात नहीं निकाली या की।
• अपने पुनरुत्थान के पश्चात जब प्रभु यीशु यरूशलेम से इम्माउस को लौटने वाले दो शिष्यों से मिले, और उनके साथ चर्चा की, “तब उसने मूसा से और सब भविष्यद्वक्ताओं से आरम्भ कर के सारे पवित्र शास्‍त्रों में से, अपने विषय में की बातों का अर्थ, उन्हें समझा दिया।” (लूका 24:27) – जो कि एक और पुष्टि है कि प्रभु यीशु ने केवल वही किया, जो उस समय उपलब्ध पवित्र-शास्त्र में पहले से लिखा जा चुका था, उनके पृथ्वी पर जन्म लेने तथा अपनी सेवकाई को आरंभ करने से पहले ही।
• प्रेरित पौलुस ने भी, यीशु को अपना उद्धारकर्ता और प्रभु स्वीकार करने के पश्चात पवित्र-शास्त्र का उपयोग किया – पुराने नियम के लेखों का प्रयोग प्रभु की सेवकाई के विषय बताने और उसे प्रमाणित करने के लिए: “वह पवित्र शास्त्र से प्रमाण दे देकर, कि यीशु ही मसीह है; बड़ी प्रबलता से यहूदियों को सब के साम्हने निरूत्तर करता रहा” और “वह परमेश्वर के राज्य की गवाही देता हुआ, और मूसा की व्यवस्था और भाविष्यद्वक्ताओं की पुस्तकों से यीशु के विषय में समझा समझाकर भोर से सांझ तक वर्णन करता रहा” (प्रेरितों 18:28; 28:23)। क्योंकि सच्चे सुसमाचार में ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है जो पहले से ही परमेश्वर के वचन लिखा नहीं जा चुका है, इसलिए जो कोई भी सुसमाचार के नाम में कुछ भी ऐसा प्रचार करता या सिखाता है जो पवित्र-शास्त्र में पहले से विद्यमान नहीं है, या कुछ नई बातें अथवा ‘नए दर्शन या प्रकाशन’ के द्वारा सुसमाचार में कुछ नया जोड़ने का प्रयास करता है, वह वास्तव में सुसमाचार को भ्रष्ट कर रहा है और उसपर कदापि विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिए और न ही उसकी बात को स्वीकार करना चाहिए।

    शैतान द्वारा सांसारिकता की बातों द्वारा सुसमाचार को भ्रष्ट करना तो तुरंत ही, प्रथम ईसवीं में ही आरंभ हो गया था, और इन भ्रष्ट शिक्षाओं में इतना आकर्षण था कि, प्रेरितों के समय और सेवकाई के दौरान ही, मसीही विश्वासी धोखा खाने लगे थे और गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ने लगे थे। इसीलिए हम देखते हैं कि नए नियम के सभी लेखक अपने-अपने लेखों में गलत शिक्षाओं और धोखे तथा शैतान के झूठ एवँ चालाकियों के बारे में बारंबार लिखते हैं। नए नियम की सभी पत्रियां, मसीह यीशु की शिक्षाओं से संबंधित गलत धारणाओं और असंगतियों को सही करने के उद्देश्य से लिखी गई हैं, जिससे मसीही विश्वासी शैतान द्वारा फैलाई जा रही गलत शिक्षाओं का सामना करके उनका प्रतिरोध कर सकें, उन्हें निष्क्रीय कर सकें।

True Gospel versus False Beliefs and False Doctrines - Part (1)

    Question: Can we learn the truth about the Lord Jesus and His Gospel from false doctrines and beliefs? How can we identify the true Gospel?

    Answer:

    It is a common occurrence and a well-known fact, that to sell fake copies of some well-known product, the deceivers try to make the outer appearance or the presentation of the fake product as near to the genuine product as possible so that people are deceived into accepting and procuring that fake copy, in the belief that it is the actual product. It is only when people make use of that fake product, they realize that it is not what it was actually claimed to be – it’s qualities are not the same as the qualities of the actual product, neither is it as efficacious as it ought to be.

    The same holds true for the true Gospel and teachings of God given in the Bible. Satan, to deceive the people, has brought into circulation many different varieties of fake copies of the Gospel and the Word of God. These fake gospels sound like the true Gospel, but they always have some errors and deviations from the true Gospel, which may not be immediately evident, but does come to the fore sooner than later. Also, to accept the contention that God warns us through false religions and false doctrines, is to say that God approves and uses falsehood and untruth to convey His message of “…the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6) – a patently false and untenable assertion, that contradicts the character and attributes of God, and is absolutely contrary to the teachings of God’s Word the Bible. In support, consider a few passages from the Bible in this context:

• In Acts 16:16-18 we see that Paul casts out an evil spirit from a girl, even though the evil spirit through the girl kept saying that "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation" (Acts 16:17) – a fact, but coming through someone unacceptable to God.
• James says, “Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone” (James 1:13); and “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17).
• The Apostle John in his first epistle says, “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5).

    The Bible over and over again, emphasizes God’s absolute truthfulness, unwavering honesty, irreproachable integrity, impeccable justice, i.e. a behavior and character way above any reproach or doubt. There is no way that God has, or will use false doctrines and religions to spread His Word, when He already has given His true and Living Word to mankind, and has also given His people His Holy Spirit to teach them His Word (John 14:26; 16:13-15; 1 Corinthians 2:11-14). The Lord Jesus, after His resurrection and before His ascension into heaven, in His Great Commission to His disciples has asked them to go and teach to the people of the world nothing contrived or from human wisdom, but that which is His Word (Matthew 28:18-20).

    But Satan, to make his lies, false teachings and wrong doctrines etc. to be acceptable, makes his ploys appear and sound like God’s Word, cleverly disguising the wrong things behind a veneer of religiosity and seeming acceptability (2 Corinthians 11:13-15; Colossians 2:4-8; 16-23). Therefore it is imperative that we firmly ground ourselves in God’s Word, and use the Bible and the Bible alone as the standard to check and judge all teachings, religions and doctrines (Acts 17:11; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). Anything that is not according to God’s Word, or contradicts it in any manner; or any teaching or doctrine that does not satisfy or does not fully go along with all that is said regarding any issue or topic; or anything adopted from and incorporated from ways of the world and/or from the wisdom and practices of men (Matthew 15:3-9) into the teachings and practices of Biblical Christianity, is a false doctrine, a false religion, something displeasing and unacceptable to God, and is to be discarded, disregarded.

    The true Gospel, is stated in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15 is the ‘Gospel chapter’ of the Bible – study it to see and understand the various truths related to the Gospel). Please take note, the true Gospel is according to the Scriptures and is not of human ingenuity; in other words, there is nothing in the true Gospel that has not already been stated in the Scriptures.

    Understand this from the Bible itself:

• Hebrews 10:5-9 records the statement of the Lord Jesus just before He left heaven to come down to earth; it says: “Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, 'Behold, I have come-- In the volume of the book it is written of Me-- To do Your will, O God.' " Previously saying, "Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them" (which are offered according to the law), then He said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first that He may establish the second.” The Lord Jesus is specifically stating that His work has already been recorded “In the volume of the book ” and in carrying out that which has been written, He will be fulfilling the will of God; in other words, it is already recorded; Christ Jesus did not devise anything new.
• When the Lord Jesus met the two disciples returning from Jerusalem to Emmaus after His resurrection, and engaged in conversation with them, “And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself” (Luke 24:27) – another affirmation that all that the Lord did, had already been recorded in the then available Scriptures, even before He was born or started His ministry.
• The Apostle Paul too, after accepting Jesus as his savior and Lord used the Scriptures – the Old Testament texts to speak about and prove the Lord’s ministry: “vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ” and “he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning till evening” (Acts 18:28; 28:23). Therefore, since there is nothing in the true Gospel that has not already been recorded in God’s Word, hence anyone preaching or teaching anything that does not already exist in the Scriptures, in the garb of the Gospel; anyone adding some new features or so called ‘new revelations’ to the Gospel is actually perverting the Gospel and is not to be believed or accepted.

    Perversion of this Gospel had started straightaway, in the first century itself, and such was the attraction of these perversions, that within the time period of the Apostles and their ministry, the Christian Believers were already getting deceived and were falling for the wrong teachings. All the writers of the New Testament deal with these issues of wrong teachings and deceptions and Satan’s lies and deviousness in their writings, over and over again. All the epistles in the New Testament were written, and are meant to correct misconceptions and misunderstandings regarding Christ’s teachings, and to confront and nullify the wrong teachings being spread by the devil.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    अदन की वाटिका में हुए उस पहले पाप, जिसका परिणाम हम आज तक झेल रहे हैं, के कार्यान्वित हो जाने में एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका हव्वा द्वारा उसके लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित भूमिका और कार्य से हटकर, आदम को सौंपे गए कार्य में हाथ डालना था – वह “सहायक” से “निर्णायक” और नियंत्रण करने वाली बन गई। शैतान की बातों और बहकावे में आकर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3), न केवल उसने वाटिका से संबंधित कार्य और वहाँ के फलों में से किसे खाना है और किसे नहीं का निर्णय करने का अधिकार अपने हाथों में ले लिया, तथा बिना आदम से पूछे अपने उस निर्णय को प्रभावी किया, वरन उसने आदम को भी अपने इस गलत निर्णय के पालन में सम्मिलित कर लिया (उत्पत्ति 3:6, 12)। यह आदम की गलती थी कि उसने हव्वा को मना करने के स्थान पर, उसके कहे को माना, और इस प्रकार वह भी परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता में आ गया। परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित कार्य और भूमिका के निर्वाह के स्थान पर, दूसरे के कार्य और भूमिका में हाथ डालने के कारण पाप का यह श्राप सारे संसार और सृष्टि पर आ गया (रोमियों 8:19-23), जिसके निवारण के लिए परमेश्वर को स्वर्ग की महिमा छोड़कर पृथ्वी पर अपमानित होने तथा निकृष्ट मृत्यु को सहन करने के लिए आना पड़ा। इस पाप के कारण ही स्त्री को पुरुष की अधीनता में आना पड़ा (उत्पत्ति 3:16) – किन्तु अधीनता में आने का यह अर्थ नहीं है कि उसे पुरुष से हीन अथवा गौण कर दिया गया, उसे निकृष्ट या दासी होकर रहने के लिए कहा गया। परमेश्वर द्वारा यह कहना कि “तेरी लालसा तेरे पति की ओर होगी, और वह तुझ पर प्रभुता करेगा”, कोई नई बात लाना नहीं था, केवल स्त्री के “निर्णायक” होने की बजाए, उसके “सहायक” होने को, जो कि परमेश्वर की मूल योजना थी, उसी बात को फिर से दृढ़ता से व्यक्त और प्रभावी करना था।

   अब 1 तिमुथियुस 2:15 के संदर्भ पर आते हैं। बाइबल की कोई भी बात देखने, समझने के लिए उसे उसके तात्कालिक सन्दर्भ, अर्थात उसके आगे-पीछे के पदों के साथ देखना अनिवार्य है, साथ ही उसे बाइबल में  लिखी अन्य संबंधित बातों के साथ भी देखना आवश्यक है। इस अध्याय का आरंभ मसीही सेवकाई से संबंधित विवरण के साथ होता है (पद 1-8), और फिर मसीही समाज में स्त्रियों के व्यवहार से संबंधित निर्देश दिए गए हैं (पद 9-12), तथा स्त्रियों को दिए गए इन निर्देशों का कारण समझाया गया है (पद 13-14)। क्योंकि पौलुस को, पवित्र आत्मा के मार्गदर्शन में, तिमुथियुस को ये निर्देश देने पड़े, इसलिए यह एक स्वाभाविक निष्कर्ष है कि तिमुथियुस जिस कलीसिया का अगुवा था, जिसकी देखभाल का दायित्व उसे सौंपा गया था, उसमें ऐसा नहीं हो रहा था। प्रत्यक्षतः, वहाँ पर स्त्रियाँ वह कर रही थीं जो परमेश्वर के वचन और मसीही विश्वास की शिक्षाओं के अनुसार सही नहीं था। स्त्रियाँ, परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें सौंपे गए दायित्व और भूमिका को छोड़ कर पुरुषों की भूमिका और कार्य में हाथ डाल रही थीं – वही पाप कर रही थीं जो हव्वा ने अदन की वाटिका में किया। इस कारण वे परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता की दोषी थीं, उस अनाज्ञाकारिता के दुष्परिणाम उन पर आने थे। उनके द्वारा स्वयं पर लाई गई इस विकट स्थिति से “उद्धार” अर्थात छुटकारा लेने और बहाल होने के लिए ही उन्हें यह कहा गया कि वे “बच्चा जनने” के द्वारा यह करने पाएँगी; अर्थात अपने पति के साथ मिलकर उसके “सहायक” की भूमिका के निर्वाह के द्वारा, परिवार में अपनी भूमिका के सही निर्वाह, परिवार और बच्चों की अच्छी देखभाल और सही परवरिश के द्वारा, वे अनाज्ञाकारिता का पाप करने की अपनी इस प्रवृत्ति से निकलने पाएंगी – उस से “उद्धार” पाएँगी – न कि वह आत्मिक उद्धार पाएंगी जिसका उल्लेख रोमियों 10:9-13 में किया गया है। इसीलिए इस 15 पद का दूसरा भाग कहता है, “यदि वे संयम सहित विश्वास, प्रेम, और पवित्रता में स्थिर रहें।” क्योंकि जो वास्तव में परमेश्वर से प्रेम रखता है, वह परमेश्वर के वचन और निर्देशों पर विश्वास भी रखेगा, और चाहे स्वाभाविक प्रवृत्ति अथवा संसार के लोगों के द्वारा उकसाया जाना कैसा भी हो, वह संयम के साथ परमेश्वर के वचन का आज्ञाकारी रहेगा, और अनाज्ञाकारिता के पाप से दूषित नहीं वरन वचन की आज्ञाकारिता की पवित्रता में स्थिर बना रहेगा। बच्चा जनने का अभिप्राय पारिवारिक दायित्व का ठीक से निर्वाह करना है; और इस पद का तात्पर्य स्त्रियाँ पुरुषों के कार्यों में हाथ डालने के स्थान पर, अपने दायित्वों के निर्वाह में लौट आने और उन्हें ठीक से निभाने के द्वारा अनाज्ञाकारिता के दण्ड से बचाई जाएँगी, है।

Understanding Being Saved in Childbearing, 

1 Timothy 2:15 - Part (2)

In the committing of the first sin in the Garden of Eden, whose consequences we are still suffering, there was a very major role of Eve taking upon herself a role entrusted to Adam, instead of continuing to fulfill the role and responsibilities assigned to her by God. Instead of remaining as Adam's "helper" she took on the role of being not only the "decision-maker" but also of ensuring implementation of her decision. Getting beguiled by Satan's clever talk (2 Corinthians 11:3), she not only took it upon herself to decide and implement which fruit should be eaten, but also made Adam to eat of the forbidden fruit (Genesis 3:6, 12). Adam's error was that instead of refusing Eve and disallowing her eating the fruit, he too did what she said, and therefore made himself a party to her disobeying God; he too became guilty of the sin of disobedience. Instead of fulfilling God given role and responsibility, putting her hand into the other person's role and responsibility, sin entered and its curse has affected the whole creation (Romans 8:19-23), and to mitigate the effects of this sin God had to leave the glory of heaven, come down to earth to be humiliated and ridiculed, and to suffer the abominable death on the cross. It was because of this sin that Eve and womankind had to come under the subjugation of Adam and mankind (Genesis 3:16) - but this subjugation does not mean she had to become lesser or inferior to man and live a contemptible life as a slave of man. God's saying "Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you" was not stating or bringing in something new; it was only firmly emphasizing and ensuring that woman was to live and function as man's "helper" and not as the "decision-maker" and "controller", as was God's original plan for women.

Because God has asked the woman to be man's "helper", therefore God's Word repeatedly asks women to remain quiet, not to preach to men or in the Church, and to learn from their husbands and remain under his authority (1 Corinthians 11:3-10; 1 Corinthians 14:34-35; Ephesians 5:22-24; Colossians 3:18; 1 Timothy 2:11-12; Titus 2:15; 1 Peter 3:1-6). This is not to show them as inferior or lesser – because in God's eyes they are not in the least inferior to men, rather, both are equal (Acts 2:18; 5:14; 8:12; Galatians 3:28). But it is to ensure a proper fulfilling of the roles of men and women as envisaged by God; and for them to remain in obedience to God. Since the consequences of disobeying God are catastrophic, therefore if they do not bring themselves under the obedience of God, they will suffer destructive consequences. The work and role, specially the one related to making and building a family, to demonstrating motherly love and care, patience, forbearance etc. the way women can do, is virtually impossible for men to do likewise. Generally speaking, only the woman can teach the family and children to reverence and obey God; but this is a challenging task for men. A man can make himself an example of godly living, but only a woman can teach the children to emulate that example set up by the man. Also, it is not that the women have been absolutely forbidden to preach or minister God's Word to others; they have a very important role to play in the teaching and preaching of God's Word - but to other women and to children (Proverbs 31:26-30; 1 Timothy 5:5-10; Titus 2:3-5); only that in God's wisdom and planning, they have been forbidden from doing this in the Church or to men. Take note, Moses had been brought up in the royal palace, and taught by the very Egyptians who oppressed the Israelites. But in that environment of opposing the Israelites, it was Moses' mother who had been responsible for his upbringing. Consequently, as an adult, Moses did not walk and work like the Egyptians, but considered the Israelites as "his people" and Jehovah as his God, and for this he was even willing to sacrifice his Egyptian royal status and life of luxury (Acts 7:22-36; Hebrews 11:24-26). This is a very important role and function of ladies in a family, for which the men have no alternative solution. Looking at men and women from the superiority-inferiority, major-minor, better-worse perspective only brings problems; but looking at them from God's perspective and understanding the issue as God wants it understood brings peace and blessings.

Now let us look into the immediate context of 1 Timothy 2:15. To analyze and understand anything from the Bible, it is imperative to look at it in its immediate context - along with the verses before and after it; moreover, it should also necessarily be seen along with the other related things given in the Bible. This chapter begins with instructions related to Christian service (vs. 1-8), followed by instructions related to behavior of women in Christian society (vs. 9-12), and the reason for this is also given (vs. 13-14). Because Paul, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, necessarily had to give these instructions to Timothy, therefore it is an obvious conclusion that in the Church where Timothy was an elder or leader and had the responsibility of shepherding it, things were not being done according to God's instructions. Evidently, the ladies in that Church were doing things that were not in accordance with God's Word and Christian teachings. The women, having left their God given role and responsibilities, were involving themselves in the roles and responsibilities of men - were committing the same sin that Eve did in the Garden of Eden. Therefore, they were guilty of the sin of disobeying God, and would have had to suffer the deleterious consequences of their disobedience. It was to "save" or deliver them from the harmful consequences of their self-inflicted disobedience and to restore them to their correct positions, that they were told to "be saved in childbearing"; the implication was that by living out their proper role as the "helper" of their husbands and of "home-makers" and other family responsibilities, e.g. proper upbringing and teaching of children and taking care of the family, they will be able to "save" themselves from the consequences of committing this sin - they will thus be "saved" from both, the tendency and its consequences. This "being saved" is not the spiritual salvation that Romans 10:9-13 is talking about. That is why, the second part of this verse says, "if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control." Because whosoever truly 'loves' God, will also 'believe' in and be obedient to God's Word, and will not defile herself by disobedience, rather will remain firm in the 'holiness' of obedience, exercising 'self-control' no matter what the provocation by their natural tendencies or the ways and teachings of the world may be. The implication of the phrase 'childbearing' is to properly fulfill their familial responsibilities and role; and the meaning of this verse is that the women by reverting back to their role of home-makers and looking after their families, instead of getting into the roles and responsibilities given to men, will be able to "save" or deliver themselves from the consequences of disobedience.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
