परमेश्वर पर विश्वास करना – 3
पिछले लेख में, इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई छः आरम्भिक बातों में से दूसरी आरंभिक बात, अर्थात “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास करना” पर विचार करते हुए, हमने देखा था कि किसी काल्पनिक ईश्वर अथवा सृजे गई वस्तु या जन पर नहीं बल्कि एकमात्र सच्चे परमेश्वर, प्रभु परमेश्वर यहोवा, पर दृढ़ और स्थिर विश्वास रखना क्यों आवश्यक है। यही परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु मसीह के रूप में देहधारी होकर पृथ्वी पर आया, ताकि समस्त मानवजाति के लिए उद्धार और अनन्त जीवन का मार्ग तैयार कर के दे, और जो भी अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करता है, उस पर विश्वास लाता है, और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित करता है कि उसकी तथा उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता में जीवन व्यतीत करे, वह प्रभु से पापों के लिए क्षमा और अनन्त जीवन सेंत-मेंत प्राप्त करता है। जैसा हमने पिछले लेख में इब्रानियों 11:6 से देखा था, परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने के लिए यह विश्वास होना अनिवार्य है। यदि व्यक्ति परमेश्वर के प्रति अपने विश्वास में स्थिर और दृढ़ नहीं होगा, तो शैतान उसके मन में परमेश्वर, परमेश्वर के गुणों और विशेषताओं, परमेश्वर के चरित्र के बारे में सन्देह उत्पन्न कर देगा, और फिर उन्हें पाप करने के मार्ग में बहका देगा, जैसा उसने अदन की वाटिका में हव्वा के साथ किया था। एक बार जब व्यक्ति गलती और पाप करने में गिर जाता है, तो फिर वह औरों को भी उनमें ले आता है, जैसे हव्वा ने आदम से पाप करवा दिया। इसलिए यह अनिवार्य है कि हम शैतान को कोई अवसर न दें कि वह अपनी किसी भी युक्ति से हमें परमेश्वर पर सन्देह करने और पाप में डालने में सफल हो जाए; और इसका एकमात्र मार्ग है परमेश्वर में स्थिर और दृढ़ विश्वास को बनाए रखना, जो कि परमेश्वर के सम्पूर्ण वचन से भली-भांति परिचित होने से होता है, क्योंकि तब शैतान परमेश्वर के वचन की कोई गलत व्याख्या या किसी हवाले का गलत उपयोग हमारे सामने लाकर हमें किसी झूठी शिक्षा अथवा गलत सिद्धान्त पर विश्वास करने में नहीं फँसाने पाता है।
परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल हमें यह भी बताती है कि परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में विश्वास रखने का क्या अर्थ है – “अब विश्वास आशा की हुई वस्तुओं का निश्चय, और अनदेखी वस्तुओं का प्रमाण है” (इब्रानियों 11:1)। यहाँ पर जिस वाक्यांश को प्रमुख किया गया है वह हमारे वर्तमान विचार के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि बाइबल का परमेश्वर आत्मा है, न कि कोई भौतिक शरीर (1 यूहन्ना 4:12, 20); और जब तक वह स्वयं ही अपने आप को प्रत्यक्ष नहीं दिखाता है, कोई उसे देख नहीं सकता है। जैसा कि प्रभु यीशु ने कहा, परमेश्वर की आराधना उसके अदृश्य आत्मा रूप में ही होनी है “परमेश्वर आत्मा है, और अवश्य है कि उसके भजन करने वाले आत्मा और सच्चाई से भजन करें” (यूहन्ना 4:24)। इसलिए सच्चा विश्वास, बाइबल की परिभाषा के अनुसार, यह माँग करता है कि हम परमेश्वर में विश्वास रखें, उस पर भरोसा रखें, उसकी उपासना करें और उसके आज्ञाकारी रहें, चाहे वह हमें दिखाई न भी दे। हमारे ऐसा करने के लिए परमेश्वर ने न तो हमें हमारी कल्पनाओं पर छोड़ा है, और न ही हम से उस पर अन्धविश्वास रखने के लिए कहा है। उसने हमारी सहायता के लिए न केवल स्वयं के विषय आवश्यक प्रमाण उपलब्ध करवाए हैं, बल्कि साथ ही खुला निमंत्रण भी दिया है कि हम उसे परख कर देख लें कि वह कितना भला है, “परखकर देखो कि यहोवा कैसा भला है! क्या ही धन्य है वह पुरुष जो उसकी शरण लेता है” (भजन 34:8)। यह एक अनुपम बात है, जो सारे सँसार भर में, किसी भी अन्य ईश्वर के प्रति विश्वास रखने के साथ कदापि नहीं देखी जाती है। मसीही विश्वास के अतिरिक्त, अन्य सभी विश्वास और किसी भी अन्य ईश्वर की उपासना में, माँग एक अन्धविश्वास की रहती है, जिस में कोई सन्देह करने अथवा प्रश्न उठाने का कोई स्थान नहीं होता है। और यदि कोई उस ईश्वर या देवी-देवता के अस्तित्व, या उसकी सामर्थ्य, या उसकी क्षमताओं पर कोई प्रश्न उठाता है, तो उसे विधर्मी माना जाता है। साथ ही उस ईश्वर पर सन्देह करने, या उसके बारे में प्रश्न उठाने को उस ईश्वर का अपमान करना समझा जाता है और फिर उसके अनुयायी सन्देह करने या प्रश्न उठाने वाले को यह अपमान करने के लिए दण्ड देते हैं।
बाइबल के परमेश्वर के साथ ऐसा नहीं है; उसे कोई आपत्ति नहीं है कि कोई उसके बारे में जाँचे-परखे, वह इसे बुरा नहीं मानता है; और जाँचने-परखने वाले पर छोड़ देता है कि यह सब करने के बाद स्वयं ही उस पर विश्वास करने के बारे में निष्कर्ष निकालें, वह उन्हें विश्वास करने के लिए बाध्य नहीं करता है। उसने अपनी सृष्टि में अपने बारे में बहुतेरे प्रमाण रखे हैं (अय्यूब 12:7-9; भजन 8:3; 19:1-3; 33:6-9; रोमियों 1:20), और लोकप्रिय किन्तु गलत शैतानी धारणा के विपरीत, विज्ञान बाइबल के विरुद्ध नहीं है और न ही परमेश्वर के अस्तित्व को नकारता है। इस धारणा के विपरीत, सभी वैज्ञानिक आविष्कार एक सृष्टिकर्ता की ओर संकेत करते हैं, एक बुद्धिमान हस्ती के द्वारा की गई सुनियोजित, और व्यवस्थित सृष्टि की ओर, न कि विज्ञान के नाम पर किए जाने वाले खोखले दावों के अनुसार अनियंत्रित और अनायास ही कुछ भी हो जाने के द्वारा सभी कुछ बन जाने की ओर। इसलिए, चाहे बाइबल का परमेश्वर आत्मा है, अदृश्य है, लेकिन फिर भी उस ने अपनी सृष्टि में अपने बारे में प्रमाण रखे हैं जो कि उसके अनदेखे होने पर भी अस्तित्व में होने को प्रमाणित करते हैं। ये प्रमाण, अर्थात हम जो उसके वचन से, और उसकी सृष्टि से उसके गुणों, विशेषताओं, और उसके चरित्र के बारे में सीखते हैं, वह हमें वह आधार प्रदान करते हैं कि हम “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास” करें। अब हम परमेश्वर के कुछ महत्वपूर्ण गुणों और विशेषताओं के बारे में देखेंगे, और उसके चरित्र के बारे में भी सीखेंगे।
बाइबल का परमेश्वर ही वह एकमात्र परमेश्वर है जो अपनी समस्त सृष्टि की देखभाल करता है, चाहे उसके सृजे हुए लोग उस में विश्वास करें या न करें, उसका अंगीकार करके उसके आज्ञाकारी रहें अथवा न रहें; वह फिर भी उनकी भौतिक या शारीरिक आवश्यकताओं का ध्यान रखता है, उनके लिए उपलब्ध करवाता है “यहोवा सभों के लिये भला है, और उसकी दया उसकी सारी सृष्टि पर है” (भजन 145:9; साथ ही मत्ती 5:45; लूका 6:35; प्रेरितों 14:15-17 भी देखें)। वह धीरजवन्त और विलम्ब से क्रोध करने वाला परमेश्वर है, और सभी के भले या बुरे कामों को धैर्य के साथ बर्दाश्त करता रहता है, उन्हें पर्याप्त अवसर देता रहता है, स्मरण दिलाता रहता है कि लोग अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करें और उसकी ओर लौट आएँ, “प्रभु अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के विषय में देर नहीं करता, जैसी देर कितने लोग समझते हैं; पर तुम्हारे विषय में धीरज धरता है, और नहीं चाहता, कि कोई नाश हो; वरन यह कि सब को मन फिराव का अवसर मिले” (2 पतरस 3:9)। किन्तु वह न्यायी परमेश्वर भी है, और जो पापों से पश्चाताप करके उसे समर्पण नहीं करते हैं, उसके आज्ञाकारी नहीं बनते हैं, उस से क्षमा प्राप्त नहीं करते हैं, उन्हें फिर अन्ततः उसका सामना एक न्यायी के समान करना पड़ेगा और उसके न्याय को झेलना पड़ेगा “… यहोवा, यहोवा, ईश्वर दयालु और अनुग्रहकारी, कोप करने में धीरजवन्त, और अति करुणामय और सत्य, हजारों पीढ़ियों तक निरन्तर करुणा करने वाला, अधर्म और अपराध और पाप का क्षमा करने वाला है, परन्तु दोषी को वह किसी प्रकार निर्दोष न ठहराएगा, वह पितृों के अधर्म का दण्ड उनके बेटों वरन पोतों और परपोतों को भी देने वाला है” (निर्गमन 34:6-7 )।
अगले लेख में हम परमेश्वर के कुछ और गुणों, विशेषताओं पर, और उसके चरित्र के बारे में विचार करेंगे, यह जानने के लिए कि क्यों बाइबल का परमेश्वर विश्वास करने के योग्य है, और क्यों विश्वासियों को उसमें स्थिर और दृढ़ विश्वास बनाए रखना चाहिए।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Faith Towards God - 3
In the last article, considering the second i.e., the principle of “Faith Towards God,” of the six elementary principles given in Hebrews 6:1-2, we had seen the necessity of having a firm, unshakeable faith towards not any imaginary deity or created being, but in the one true God, the Lord God Jehovah, who manifested on earth as the Lord Jesus Christ, to provide the way of salvation and eternal life for all of mankind. Anyone who repents of his sins, believes in Him, and submits his life to Him, to live in obedience to Him and His Word, obtains His pardon for their sins and eternal life freely, from Him. As we saw from Hebrews 11:6 in the previous article, this faith is necessary to be pleasing to Him. Unless one is firm and unshakeable in his faith towards God, Satan will be able to create doubts in him about God, God’s attributes and characteristics, God’s character, and then mislead them into committing sin, as he did with Eve in the Garden of Eden. Once a person falls into errors and sins, he leads others also into them, as Eve led Adam into sinning. Hence, it is imperative that we do not provide Satan any opportunity to make us fall into doubting God and sinning through any of his ploys; and the way to do that is to have a firm, unshakeable faith in God and to be well versed in all of God’s Word, so that Satan is unable to misquote and misinterpret God’s Word to us, and make us believe in some false teaching or wrong doctrine.
God’s Word the Bible also tells us what God considers having faith – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). The phrase made prominent here is important for our current consideration since the God of the Bible is a Spirit, and not a physical being (1 John 4:12, 20); and unless He chooses to make Himself visible, no one can see Him. As the Lord Jesus has said, God is to be worshipped as Spirit, i.e., in His invisible form “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). So, true faith, going by the Biblical definition, demands that we believe in God, trust Him, worship and obey Him, though He remains invisible to us. For this, God has neither left us to our own imaginations, nor has He asked us to have a blind faith in Him. To help us He has not only provided the requisite proofs, but has also given the open invitation to taste and see how good He is “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him” (Psalm 34:8). This is something unique, quite unlike any other belief in any other deity, anywhere in the world. Except for the Christian Faith, in practically every other belief and form of worship of any deity, having a blind, unquestioning faith is often the demand; and anyone who questions the existence, or the power, or the abilities of that deity is seen as a heretic. Moreover, having doubts and raising any questions about the deity is taken as insulting the deity, deserving of punishment, and those who doubt or question are punished by the followers of that deity for demeaning that deity.
Not so with the God of Bible; He is willing to be examined and prove Himself without any ill-will towards anyone about this; and still leaving it to those checking Him out to draw their own conclusions about believing in Him, instead of forcing them to believe in Him. He has put many proofs about Himself in His creation (Job 12:7-9; Psalm 8:3; 19:1-3; 33:6-9; Romans 1:20), and unlike the popular but satanic notion, science does not contradict the Bible nor disproves the existence of God. On the contrary, all scientific discoveries are pointing towards the creator and an intelligent, planned, orderly creation, instead of the random occurrences by chance that are claimed and taught in the name of science. So, even though the God of the Bible is a Spirit, is invisible, yet He has placed abundant proofs about Himself in His creation, that provide the evidence of Him who is not seen. This evidence, i.e., what we learn about His attributes, characteristics, and character from His Word and from His creation provide for us the basis of our having “Faith Towards God.” We will now look at some important attributes and characteristics about the Lord, and also learn of His character.
The God of the Bible, is the only God who takes care of all His creation, whether or not they believe in Him, acknowledge Him, obey Him; He still meets their physical needs and provides for them “The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works” (Psalm 145:9; see also Matthew 5:45; Luke 6:35; Acts 14:15-17). He is a longsuffering God, who patiently puts up with the deeds, whether right or wrong, of everyone, and provides ample opportunities and reminders for people to repent of their sins and return to Him, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). But He is also a God of justice, and those who do not repent and submit to Him in obedience to be forgiven, will eventually have to face Him as their Judge and suffer His judgment “…The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children to the third and the fourth generation” (Exodus 34:6-7).
In the next article we will consider some more attributes and characteristics of God, and His Character, to see why the God of the Bible is worthy of being believed in, and the Believers should be firm and unshakeable in their Faith Towards God.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
