मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 3 - प्रभु-भोज (16)
व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन को उचित रीति से जीने, और आशीषित बनाने के लिए परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन बाइबल में शिक्षाएं और निर्देश दिए हैं। जैसा हम देख चुके हैं, इस बारे में, प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में सात बातें दी गई हैं। इन सात में से पहली तीन प्रभु यीशु का शिष्य बनाने से सम्बन्धित हैं; और ये पतरस द्वारा किए गए प्रचार के अन्त की ओर दी गई हैं। शेष चार बातें प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई हैं; और आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी लौलीन होकर इन चारों का पालन किया करते थे। परिणामस्वरूप, वे अपने आत्मिक जीवन में उन्नत हुए; सभी परिस्थितियों में वे अपने मसीही विश्वास में स्थिर और दृढ़ बने रहे; और कलीसियाएं भी बढ़ती चली गईं। इन चार बातों के इस सकारात्मक एवं बढ़ोतरी के प्रभाव के कारण उन्हें “मसीही जीवन के स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है। लेकिन, जैसा हम कुरिन्थुस की कलीसिया में देखते हैं, इन बातों में मानवीय बुद्धि और समझ के अनुसार परिवर्तन करने, उनमें मिलावट करने, और उनके निर्वाह में लापरवाह होने के कारण उलटा ही प्रभाव हुआ। जब मसीही विश्वासियों ने लौलीन होकर नहीं, बल्कि रस्म निभाने या औपचारिकता पूरी करने के लिए उन्हें निभाना आरम्भ कर दिया, तो उनका आत्मिक जीवन गिर गया, विश्वास दुर्बल और अस्थिर हो गया, कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी रुक गई। साथ ही प्रभु के वचन से खिलवाड़ और अनाज्ञाकारिता के कारण, उन्हें प्रभु की ताड़नाओं का भी सामना करना पड़ा। हम इन चार में से तीसरी बात, “रोटी तोड़ना” अर्थात प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने को 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 से सात बिन्दुओं के अन्तर्गत देख रहे हैं। प्रभु भोज में उचित और अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने से सम्बन्धित बातों को देखने के बाद, पिछले दो लेखों से हमने छठे बिन्दु, अनुचित रीते से भाग लेने के परिणामों को पद 29-30 से देखना आरम्भ किया है। आज हम इसी को आगे देखेंगे।
6. प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेना - पद 29-30 - (भाग 3)
इससे पहले के खण्ड, पद 17-28 तक, प्रभु भोज से सम्बन्धित सही-गलत बातों को बताने के बाद, अब पद 29-30, इस छठे बिन्दु में, पवित्र आत्मा ने अनुचित रीति से प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने के दुष्परिणाम लिखवाए हैं। पद 29 में, जैसा हम देख चुके हैं, यह स्पष्ट है कि जो भी अनुचित रीति से भाग लेगा, वह अपने किए हुए के कारण स्वतः ही दण्ड का भागी हो जाएगा। जैसे, यदि कोई आग में हाथ डालेगा, तो स्वतः ही तुरन्त ही उसका हाथ जल भी जाएगा। आग यह पता नहीं करेगी कि उस व्यक्ति ने हाथ जानबूझकर डाला या अनजाने में; किसी और ने पकड़कर डाला या डलवाया, या उससे गलती से हो गया; या उसे आग के जला देने वाले गुण के बारे में पता था अथवा नहीं था, इत्यादि। जिसने भी हाथ डाला, उसे तुरन्त और स्वतः ही परिणाम भुगतना पड़ेगा। तात्पर्य यह कि हाथ डालने वाले को पहले से सावधान होकर, उचित और पर्याप्त तैयारी करके ही हाथ डालना है। उसी प्रकार से जब परमेश्वर ने मेज़ से सम्बन्धित सभी बातें लिखवा दी हैं, तो भाग लेने वालों को उचित और पर्याप्त तैयारी करके ही भाग लेना है; क्योंकि भाग लेने के भले अथवा बुरे परिणाम अवश्यंभावी हैं।
फिर पद 30 में पवित्र आत्मा ने स्पष्ट लिखवा दिया है “इसी कारण,” अर्थात, उन्होंने जो किया है, वे उसका प्रतिफल भी भुगत रहे हैं। साथ ही ध्यान दीजिए कि इस पद में दो बार शब्द “बहुत से” उपयोग किया गया है। तात्पर्य यह कि प्रभु भोज से सम्बन्धित गलतियाँ, उस मण्डली में अधिकाँश लोग कर रहे थे; लेकिन अधिकाँश के करने के कारण वे गलतियाँ स्वीकार्य नहीं बन गई थीं। बहुमत हमेशा ही सही हो, या परमेश्वर बहुमत के कारण अपने नियम बदल दे, यह सम्भव नहीं है। सदोम और अमोरा में, लूत के परिवार को छोड़, और सभी पाप में लिप्त थे। उनके विशाल बहुमत ने परमेश्वर के न्याय और दण्ड को नहीं बदला; लूत और उसके परिवार को छोड़कर शेष सभी नाश हो गए। जितनों ने भी गलती की, उन सभी ने दुष्परिणाम भुगते। इसलिए, जो अपने आप को यह कहकर दिलासा देते हैं कि “जैसे सभी कर रहे थे, हमने भी कर लिया;” उन्हें इस बात के लिए भी तैयार रहना चाहिए कि “उसके लिए जैसा प्रतिफल सबको दिया गया, वैसा ही उन्हें भी मिल गया।” परमेश्वर ने कभी भी कहीं भी यह नहीं कहा है कि लोगों के कहे के अनुसार करो, लोगों का अनुसरण करो। वरन केवल अपने वचन का पालन करने के लिए ही कहा है, चाहे यह अकेले या अल्पसंख्यक होकर ही क्यों न करना पड़े। झूठी बात फैलाने और बहुतों के पीछे चलकर बुराई करने को मना किया है (निर्गमन 23:1-2)।
इसके बाद, इस पद में, तीन प्रकार के दुष्परिणाम दिए गए हैं - दुर्बल होना, रोगी होना, और सो जाना या मृत्यु हो जाना। ये तीनों एक ही प्रक्रिया के तीन बिगड़ते हुए चरण हैं। दण्ड का आरम्भ शरीर के दुर्बल होने से होता है, फिर व्यक्ति रोगी हो जाता है, और अन्त मृत्यु से होता है। परमेश्वर हल्के दण्ड से आरम्भ करके कठोर और फिर अपरिवर्तनीय तक जा रहा है। अपरिवर्तनीय दण्ड, अर्थात मृत्यु तक पहुँचने से पहले व्यक्ति के पास अवसर है कि वह अपनी गलती को पहचान ले, क्षमा मांग ले, और सुधार जाए। औरों के साथ होने वाले को देखकर, अपने विषय चेत जाए, और बदल जाए। लेकिन जो परमेश्वर के इस धैर्य और विलम्ब से कोप करने को नहीं पहचानता है, अवसर का लाभ नहीं उठाता है, उसे फिर अन्तिम परिणाम तक पहुँचना ही होता है। विश्वासी और अविश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर के न्याय के मानक और स्तर भिन्न नहीं हैं। पुराने नियम में, प्रभु भोज के प्रारूप, फसह के पर्व में सम्मिलित होने के लिए, और परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था की बातों के सन्दर्भ में परमेश्वर ने यह बिल्कुल स्पष्ट कर दिया था कि यहूदी (परमेश्वर के लोग) और अन्य-जातियों या परदेशियों के लिए भिन्न नहीं, वरन एक ही नियम या व्यवस्था लागू होगी, पालन की जाएगी (निर्गमन 12:48-49; लैव्यव्यवस्था 24:22; गिनती 9:14; 15:14-16)।
हम यहाँ पर सभी लोगों के लिए, तथा जानबूझकर और ढिठाई के पापों के लिए भी परमेश्वर के न्याय की खराई, उसके सचेत करने, सुधरने के लिए शिक्षा तथा अवसर देने, तथा धैर्य और विलम्ब से क्रोध करने, दण्ड देने के गुणों को देखते हैं। यहोवा परमेश्वर के अतिरिक्त, क्या ऐसे गुण और स्वभाव, क्या कहीं और, किसी अन्य में देखने को मिलता है?
अगले लेख से हम प्रभु भोज से सम्बन्धित सातवें बिन्दु को पद 31-34 से देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Things Related to Christian Living – 41
The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 3 - Breaking of Bread (16)
God has given in His Word, the Bible teachings and instructions, to live a practical and a blessed Christian life. As we have seen, there are seven things given about this in Acts chapter 2. Of these seven, the first three are about becoming the disciples of the Lord Jesus; and these have been given towards the end of Peter’s sermon. The remaining four are given in Acts 2:42; and the initial Christian Believers observed them steadfastly. Consequently, they were edified in their Christian lives, remained firm and established in their faith in all circumstances; and the churches continued to grow. Because of the positive and growth-causing effect of these four, they are also known as the “Pillars of Christian Living.” But as we see from the example of the Church in Corinth, altering them by adding things according to human thinking and understanding, and corrupting them; by being careless and casual about observing them, had an opposite effect. When the Christian Believers started observing them, not steadfastly, but as a ritual, as a formality, the state of their spiritual lives fell, they became weak and unstable in their faith, and the growth of the churches stopped. Besides, because of fooling around with God’s Word and being disobedient to it, they also had to face the chastisement of the Lord. We are considering the third of these four things, i.e., “breaking of bread” from 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 under seven points. Having seen about participating in the Holy Communion in a worthy or in an unworthy manner, for the last two articles, we have been looking at the sixth point, i.e., consequences of participating unworthily, from verses 29-30. Today, we will see further.
6. Partaking in the Holy Communion - verses 29-30 - (Part 3)
In the preceding section of verses 17-28, having told of the various right and wrong things related to the Holy Communion, now, in verses 29-30, the Holy Spirit has had written the harmful effects of participating unworthily. In verse 29, as we have seen, it is quite evident that whoever participates unworthily, he automatically has to bear the consequences of his doing. For example, if one puts his hand in the fire, then automatically it will be burnt. The fire will not ask whether the person put in his hand accidentally or knowingly; did he put it himself, or because someone caught and put his hand in it, or tricked him into putting his hand; or, because he did not know of the fire’s property of burning up things; etc. Whoever put in his hand, automatically and immediately got his hand burnt. The implication is that the one putting his hand in the fire should first learn about it, prepare himself, and only then think of putting in his hand. Similarly, when God has had the teachings and instructions about partaking in His Table written down and made available, then the one partaking should study them, prepare himself, and then participate. Since the consequences of participation, whether good or bad, are inevitable.
Then in verse 30, the Holy Spirit has written the words “For this reason,” meaning they are suffering the consequences of what they have done. Also note that in this verse, twice the word “many” has been used. In other words, many of the members of that Assembly were partaking of the Lord’s Table unworthily; but those errors were not condoned because most of the people were doing them. It is not possible that the majority should always be considered correct, or that the Lord would alter His laws for the sake of a majority. In Sodom and Gomorrah, except for Lot and his family, everyone else was deeply involved in sin. But God did not change His judgment because of the vast majority; except for Lot and his family, everyone else perished. All who sinned, every one of them suffered the consequences. Therefore, those who try to console themselves by saying, “we too did just what everyone else was doing” should be ready to hear, “therefore, you too receive the same consequences as everyone else is receiving.” Nowhere has God ever said that do as the other people are doing; follow the people. Rather, He has always asked that His Word be obeyed and followed, even if you are the only one, or are in a minority for doing so. He has forbidden spreading wrong things and following a crowd to do evil (Exodus 23:1-2).
After this, in this verse, three harmful effects have been given – becoming weak, sick, and ‘sleeping’ i.e., dying. The punishment begins with becoming weak, then the person becomes sick, and finally ends with death. God begins with a light punishment, makes it severe, and finally takes it to the irreversible. Before the person reaches the stage of the irreversible punishment, i.e., death, he has the time and opportunity to recognize and accept his faults, repent of them and ask forgiveness, and correct himself. Seeing what is happening to others, he should learn and become cautious about himself, and convert from his ways. But those who do not recognize God’s being patient and longsuffering, do not make use of the God given time and opportunity, then they will eventually have to suffer even the final stage. God’s judgment and standards are not different for the Believers and the unbelievers. In the Old Testament, for the participating in the Passover, the precursor of the Lord’s Table, and in context of the things concerning God’s Laws, God had made it absolutely clear that for the Jews (God’s people) and the Gentiles or foreigners among them, there was to be only one set of rules and Law, that were to be followed by everyone (Exodus 12:48-49; Leviticus 24:22; Numbers 9:14; 15:14-16).
Here we see God’s attributes that for all the people, even for those who knowingly and deliberately sin, His judgment is sincere, He forewarns and cautions, gives teachings, time, and opportunity to correct, remains patient and longsuffering, before He acts to punish anyone. Is there anyone anywhere besides the Lord God Jehovah who exhibits such attributes and behavior?
In the next article we will start considering the seventh point related to the Holy Communion from verses 31-34.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
