परमेश्वर का भण्डारी होना – 2
पिछले लेख में हमने 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 से देखा था कि राजा दाऊद, अपने जीवन के अन्त के समय, अपने पुत्र और राज्य के उत्तराधिकारी, युवा सुलैमान को चार निर्देश देता है कि वह किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सही, तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई सामर्थ्य, बुद्धिमानी, और मार्गदर्शन के द्वारा आशीषित एवं सफल हो सकता है। ये चार निर्देश हैं: पुरुषार्थ कर; जो कुछ भी परमेश्वर ने उसे सौंपा है उसका योग्य भण्डारी बने; परमेश्वर के वचन का आज्ञाकारी रहे; और हमेशा परमेश्वर के प्रति समर्पित रहे। पिछले लेखों में हमने इनमें से पहली बात, पुरुषार्थ करने के बारे में देखा था। पिछले लेख में हमने दूसरे निर्देश, भण्डारी होने, के बारे में देखना आरम्भ किया है; और हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर की अपेक्षा है कि जो कुछ भी वह लोगों को देता है, वे उसका आदर करें, और सबके लाभ के लिये, उचित रीति से उसका सदुपयोग करें। क्योंकि परमेश्वर चाहता है कि उसने जो हमें सौंपा है, हम उसकी देखभाल और संभाल करें, तो इससे तात्पर्य निकलता है कि जो परमेश्वर ने दिया है उसे हानि पहुँचाने, नाश करने, व्यर्थ समझने, दुरुपयोग करने, निष्फल करने, आदि के लिये शैतान द्वारा प्रयास किए जाएंगे। इसलिए हमें परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए वरदान की कीमत पहचाननी है, उसकी देखभाल करनी है, और बड़े ध्यान से शैतानी हमलों से उसकी रक्षा करनी है। अच्छा भण्डारी होने का अर्थ है परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई बात का मेहनत से ध्यान रखना।
जैसा दाऊद ने सुलैमान से कहा था, वैसा ही पौलुस ने भी कहा है, कि उसे भी उन सभी बातों का जो परमेश्वर ने उसे दी हैं, परमेश्वर के भेदो का भण्डारी बनाया गया है; और भण्डारी होने के नाते, परमेश्वर चाहता है कि वह इस ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह में विश्वासयोग्य हो (1 कुरिन्थियों 4:1-2)। वह आगे चलकर सुसमाचार प्रचार की सेवकाई के सन्दर्भ में कहता है कि उसे यह ज़िम्मेदारी भण्डारीपन के समान सौंपी गई है और उसे हर हाल में इसका निर्वाह करना ही है (1 कुरिन्थियों 9:16-17), अन्यथा उस से सम्बन्धित ‘हाय’ को झेलने के लिए तैयार रहना है। जैसे पौलुस के लिए सुसमाचार प्रचार की यह ज़िम्मेदारी थी, वैसे ही अन्य सभी सेवकाइयों के लिए भी वह अपनी ऐसी ही ज़िम्मेदारी समझता था। इसीलिए यह जानते हुए कि उसके जीवन काल का अन्त निकट है, वह बड़ी ईमानदारी और बिना झिझक के कह सका, “मैं अच्छी कुश्ती लड़ चुका हूं मैं ने अपनी दौड़ पूरी कर ली है, मैं ने विश्वास की रखवाली की है। भविष्य में मेरे लिये धर्म का वह मुकुट रखा हुआ है, जिसे प्रभु, जो धर्मी, और न्यायी है, मुझे उस दिन देगा और मुझे ही नहीं, वरन उन सब को भी, जो उसके प्रगट होने को प्रिय जानते हैं” (2 तीमुथियुस 4:7-8)।
जैसा हमने पिछले लेख में, और यहाँ पर पौलुस के उदाहरण से देखा है, भण्डारी होना न तो केवल कुछ लोगों के लिए होता है, और न ही बाद में नहीं जोड़ा जाता है। परमेश्वर जब भी किसी को कुछ भी देता है, वह व्यक्ति साथ ही परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिए गए का भण्डारी भी हो जाता है, और उससे अपेक्षा रखी जाती है कि वह इस ज़िम्मेदारी का निर्वाह भी करेगा। मसीह यीशु के समर्पित, प्रतिबद्ध विश्वासी के लिए भण्डारी होने की इस ज़िम्मेदारी को स्वीकार करने अथवा इनकार करने का प्रश्न ही नहीं उठता है। उसे तो हर कीमत पर या तो उसका निर्वाह करना है, अन्यथा उससे संबंधित ‘हाय’ को झेलने के लिए तैयार रहना है, जैसा कि पौलुस ने सुसमाचार प्रचार के अपने भण्डारीपन के बारे में कहा।
अब ज़रा सोचिए, वास्तविकता में, हम मसीही विश्वासी पौलुस से कहीं बेहतर स्थिति में हैं, किन्तु अपने कार्यों में उससे बहुत अधिक निम्न हैं। पौलुस के पास केवल पवित्र आत्मा था, उसकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन के लिए, और सीखने के लिए केवल पुराने नियम के पुस्तकें थीं। उसके जीवन काल और सेवकाई के समय में नए नियम में सम्मिलित की जाने वाली पुस्तकें अभी लिखी ही जा रही थीं; वे अभी संकलित कर के नए नियम के रूप में नहीं आईं थीं, बाइबल अभी पूर्ण नहीं थी। यात्रा करना और संपर्क करना, अन्य स्थानों को सन्देश भेजना आदि, बहुत कठिन और जोखिम भरे कार्य थे; किन्तु इस कारण पौलुस कभी रुका नहीं। आज, हमारे पास सम्पूर्ण बाइबल है, सभी पुस्तकें लिखी और संकलित कर ली गई हैं। हमारे पास विभिन्न अनुवाद भी हैं, अलग-अलग भाषाओं में भी और एक ही भाषा में भी। हमारे पास बाइबल अध्ययन में सहायता के लिए कई प्रकार की सहायता उपलब्ध है, जैसे की व्याख्याएँ, शब्दकोष, नक़्शे, कान्कॉर्डन्स, तथा कई अन्य प्रकार के संसाधन, जो इंटरनेट पर तथा छपे हुए दोनों तरह से उपलब्ध हैं, इंटरनेट पर बहुत से संसाधन मुफ्त भी हैं तथा आसानी से उपलब्ध भी हैं; तथा अनेकों बाइबल कॉलेज, सेमनरी, तथा शिक्षा के अन्य स्त्रोत, आदि, सभी उपलब्ध हैं। संपर्क करने और सन्देश भेजने के लिए हमें एक से दूसरे स्थान जाने की भी आवश्यकता नहीं रह गई है; इलेक्ट्रोनिक उपकरणों ने सँसार के हर भाग से तुरंत ही संपर्क करना सहज कर दिया है। और निःसंदेह, प्रत्येक विश्वासी के पास, उसकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन के लिए परमेश्वर का पवित्र आत्मा तो हमेशा ही है। पौलुस की तुलना में, आज के विश्वासियों के पास केवल एक ही बात की कमी है, किसी भी कीमत पर परमेश्वर का विश्वासयोग्य भण्डारी होने की इच्छा, परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी होने की लालसा, परमेश्वर के कार्य के प्रति समर्पित और प्रतिबद्ध होना। और इस एक बात की कमी ने पौलुस की और हमारी सेवकाई में इतना बड़ा अन्तर डाल दिया है। आज हम में से कितने हैं, जो यह जानते हुए कि अन्त बहुत निकट है, पौलुस के साथ खड़े होकर वह कह सकते हैं जो पौलुस ने 2 तीमुथियुस 4:7-8 में कहा है? अगले लेख में हम परमेश्वर के योग्य भण्डारी होने के बारे में और आगे देखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Being God’s Steward - 2
In the previous article, we had seen from 1 Kings 2:2-4, that King David, towards the end of his life, instructs his young son and heir to the kingdom, Solomon, about four things, on how to be right with God and be blessed and successful through the strength, wisdom, and guidance of God. These four instructions are: prove yourself a man; keep the charge of the Lord, i.e., be a good steward of whatever God has given to you; be obedient to God’s Word; always remain sincere and committed to the Lord. In the previous articles we have seen about the first of these four instructions, i.e., to be a man. From the last article we have started to consider about being God’s worthy steward, the second instruction; and we have seen that God expects His people to respect and properly utilize what He gives them, for the benefit of all. Since God wants us to be careful and to take care or safeguard what He has entrusted to us, it implies that there will be satanic attempts to damage, destroy, ignore, consider vain, or misuse, render infructuous, whatever God has given. Therefore, God's gift has to be valued, looked after and kept secure from satanic attacks. To be a good Steward means to properly and diligently keep charge of what God has given.
As David said to Solomon, Paul also says that he has been made a steward of everything, all the mysteries of God, that God has given him; and as a steward, God expects him to be faithful in fulfilling this responsibility (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). He goes on to say regarding his ministry that preaching the gospel is a stewardship entrusted to him, and come what may, he has to fulfil this responsibility (1 Corinthians 9:16-17), or else suffer the associated woe of not preaching the gospel. This responsibility that Paul felt regarding the gospel, was actually a hallmark of his entire ministry, in all its aspects. That is why at the end of his lifetime, awaiting the end of his physical life, which he knew was coming soon, he could say quite honestly and without any hesitation, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
As seen in the previous article, and through Paul’s example here, stewardship is neither added later nor meant only for some. When God gives anything to anyone, that person simultaneously also becomes a steward of whatever has been given by God to him, and is expected to fulfil this responsibility. For a committed follower of Christ Jesus, there is no question of accepting or rejecting this stewardship. At any cost, he has to either fulfil it or get ready to receive the woe of not fulfilling the responsibility of the stewardship, as Paul said about his stewardship of preaching the gospel.
Come to think of it, actually speaking, we Christian Believers are in a much better position than Paul was, and yet way poorer than him in our performance. Paul only had the Holy Spirit to help and guide him, and just the Old Testament books to learn from. The New Testament was still being written, and the books of the Bible had not been compiled at the time Paul was alive and active in ministry. Travelling and communications were very difficult and risky tasks for him, but that never stopped him from them. We now have the complete Bible; all the books have been written and compiled. We have various translations, in different languages, as well as different versions in a given language. We have various Bible study helps e.g., Commentaries, Dictionaries, Maps, Concordances, and many other resources, both online and offline, the online resources are often free, and freely available; besides innumerable Bible Colleges, Seminaries, and other learning facilities. For communication, we need not even travel from one place to another; electronic communication methods have enabled us to communicate across the globe, instantaneously. And of-course, the Holy Spirit is still always there with every Christian Believer to help and guide him. The only thing missing in today’s Believers, in comparison to Paul, is the will, the desire to be useful for God, the commitment to be God’s faithful steward at any cost. And this one thing is what makes all the difference between Paul’s ministry and ours. How many of us will be able to stand up with Paul and say what he did in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, knowing the end is at hand? In the next article we will consider further about being a steward of God.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
