आराधना के लिए परिवर्तित (7)
हमने अपने इस अध्ययन में 2 इतिहास 29 अध्याय से देखा है कि उस प्रकार के आराधक में परिवर्तित होने के लिए, जिन्हें परमेश्वर ढूँढ़ रहा है, अर्थात, वे जो आत्मा और सच्चाई से उसकी आराधना करते हैं, मसीही विश्वासी को चार क़दमों से होकर जाना पड़ता है। इनमें से पहल तीन कदम परमेश्वर की महिमा और योग्य एवं उचित रीति से आराधना करने के लिए अपनी व्यक्तिगत तैयारी करने, शुद्ध और पवित्र होने से संबंधित हैं। जब ये पहले तीन कदम योग्य और सही रीति से पूरे हो जाते हैं, तब ही व्यक्ति परमेश्वर की आराधना करने के चौथे कदम को उठाने पाता है। पहले तीन क़दमों की उचित और पर्याप्त तैयारी के बिना, वह योग्य रीति से परमेश्वर की आराधना नहीं करने पाएगा, और उन आशीषों एवं अनन्त प्रतिफलों को प्राप्त नहीं कर सकेगा जो सच्ची आराधना से आते हैं। यह चौथा कदम चार चरणों से होकर पूरा होता है, और पिछले लेख में हमने इसके पहले चरण के बारे में 2 इतिहास 29:20-24 से देखा था - पापी होने के सार्वजनिक अंगीकार, उसके लिए परमेश्वर से क्षमा याचना; स्वयं को तथा अपने जीवन में प्रभाव और नियंत्रण रखने वाली सभी बातों को परमेश्वर के समक्ष लाकर, उसकी अधीनता में दे देना। जब भी विश्वासी से पाप हो जाए, उसे प्रभु के पास आना है, पश्चाताप के साथ उसे प्रभु के सामने मान लेना है कि वह कहाँ पर और किस बात में, कैसे गिर गया, और प्रभु से उसके लिए क्षमा माँगनी है। केवल वे ही जो जब भी आवश्यकता हो, तब तुरंत ही सहायता पाने के लिए परमेश्वर के निकट आने के इस मनसा और साहस को रखते हैं, वे ही परमेश्वर की आराधना करने, उसकी महिमा और गुणानुवाद करने का मन और योग्यता भी रखते हैं। इस पहले चरण के बाद दूसरा चरण आता है, जब आराधना का आरंभ होता है।
चरण - 2 - 2 इतिहास 29:21-26 - जैसे परमेश्वर ने ठहराया है केवल उसी प्रकार से आराधना करने वाले: हम यहाँ पर देखते हैं कि वेदी पर पाप-बलि चढ़ाने के लिए जब पशुओं को बलि किया जा रहा था (पद 20-24), हिजकिय्याह ने लेवियों को संगीत वाद्यों के साथ परमेश्वर के भवन में खड़ा कर दिया, आराधना आरंभ करने के लिए बिलकुल तैयार (पद 25-26)। लेकिन ध्यान दें कि पद 25 में स्पष्ट लिखा है कि आराधना कि इस तैयारी को “उसने दाऊद और राजा के दर्शी गाद, और नातान नबी की आज्ञा के अनुसार जो यहोवा की ओर से उसके नबियों के द्वारा आई थी…” किया। बलिदानों और भेंटों का चढ़ाया जाना, आराधना का किया जाना केवल परमेश्वर की उस आज्ञा के अनुसार ही होना था, जो उसके नबियों के द्वारा परमेश्वर ने दी थी। मनुष्यों के बनाए हुए किसी भी रीति-रिवाज़ या तरीकों के उपयोग का कोई स्थान, कोई महत्व नहीं था; वे चाहे कितने भी तर्क-संगत, श्रद्धापूर्ण, और प्रसन्न करने वाले प्रतीत क्यों न हों, किन्तु परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य आराधना और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता के निर्वाह में उनकी कोई भूमिका, कोई महत्व नहीं है।
परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी होने के लिए पूर्ण समर्पण और आज्ञाकारिता के मूल सिद्धांत का पालन करना, वचन में कई बार दिखाया और सिखाया गया है। हम इसके कुछ उदाहरणों को देखते हैं:
निर्गमन में, अध्याय 35 से आरंभ करके, जहाँ पर परमेश्वर मूसा को मिलाप वाले तम्बू और उसके विभिन्न भागों तथा सामान के निर्माण के बारे में, तथा कौन लोग उन्हें बनाएँगे, आदि के बारे में निर्देश देना आरंभ करता है, 40 अध्याय के अन्त तक, जहाँ तम्बू को खड़ा किया और आराधना को आरंभ जाता है, परमेश्वर ने बारंबार मूसा से ज़ोर दे कर कहा है कि हर बात, हर कार्य, ठीक उसी प्रकार से किया जाना है जैसा उसने बताया है। किसी को भी परमेश्वर के कहे से अलग कुछ भी करने की कोई अनुमति नहीं है; तम्बू और उसके सामान को वैसे ही बना कर खड़ा करना है जैसा बताया गया है।
राजा शाऊल ने स्वतः ही परमेश्वर का याजक और नबी होने की भूमिका भी अपने ऊपर ले ली, और शमूएल के स्थान पर, युद्ध में जाने से पहले, स्वयं ही बलि चढ़ा दी, क्योंकि शमूएल को नियुक्त समय पर आने में विलम्ब हो रहा था। परमेश्वर ने इसे स्वीकार नहीं किया, और उस से कह दिया कि उसकी अधीरता और अनाज्ञाकारिता के कारण, उसका राज्य उस से ले लिया जाएगा (1 शमूएल 13:11-14)।
लेकिन शाऊल ने इससे सबक नहीं सीखा, और फिर से परमेश्वर की वैसी ही अनाज्ञाकारिता कर दी। शमूएल में होकर परमेश्वर ने शाऊल से कहा था कि अमालेकियों का पूर्णतः सत्यानाश कर दे, उनकी किसी भी चीज़ को छोड़े नहीं (1 शमूएल 15:3)। लेकिन शाऊल ने, मनुष्यों के भय में आकर, अच्छे दिखने वाले पशुओं को बचा लिया, कहने को, “परमेश्वर को बलिदान” करने के लिए (1 शमूएल 15:15)। परिणामस्वरूप, उसे अपने राज्य से हाथ धोना पड़ा (1 शमूएल 15:16-23)।
जब राजा दाऊद ने वाचा के संदूक को अबीनादाब के घर से यरूशलेम को ले जाना चाहा, तो 1 इतिहास 13 अध्याय वर्णन करता है कि उसने इसके लिए किस प्रकार की तैयारियां कीं - सब कुछ उसकी अपनी सोच और अन्य मनुष्यों से ली गई सलाह के अनुसार, बिना इसके बारे में परमेश्वर के निर्देशों का ध्यान अथवा पालन किए। जब उन्होंने बहुत गाने और स्तुति के साथ संदूक को दाऊद की योजना के अनुसार ले जाना आरंभ किया, शीघ्र ही विपत्ति आन पड़ी; और 1 इतिहास 13:11-13 में लिखा है कि इस से दाऊद अप्रसन्न हो गया, और उस संदूक को आगे नहीं ले कर गया। फिर 1 इतिहास 15 में हम देखती हैं कि अन्ततः दाऊद को अपनी गलती का एहसास होता है, उसे ध्यान आता है कि पहली बार में उसने क्या कुछ गलत किया गया था, और वह उसका सुधार करता है। दाऊद, 1 इतिहास 15:2 में स्वीकार करता है कि केवल लेवी ही संदूक को ले कर जा सकते हैं, यह और कोई नहीं कर सकता है; और वह 1 इतिहास 15:13 में मान लेता है कि क्योंकि उन्होंने पहली बार परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित रीति से यह नहीं किया था इसीलिए परमेश्वर का क्रोध उन पर भड़का था। जब दाऊद परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित तरीके से इस कार्य को करता है, तब हर ओर आनन्द होता है।
परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य आराधना करने का मूल सिद्धांत, दस आज्ञाओं के दिए जाने के बाद, निर्गमन 20:23-26 में दिया गया है। यहाँ पर पद 25 और 26 पर विशेष ध्यान दीजिए। परमेश्वर विशेष रीति से कहता है कि उसकी आराधना के लिए जो भी वेदी बनाई जाए वह या तो मिट्टी की हो अन्यथा स्वाभाविक पत्थरों की हो, अन्य किसी प्रकार की नहीं। यदि पत्थरों का प्रयोग किया जाए, तो कोई भी मनुष्य उन्हें तराशने के लिए उन पर अपना कोई औज़ार प्रयोग न करे। क्योंकि उन्हें उस स्वरूप से जिसमें परमेश्वर ने उन्हें बनाया है, उससे और अधिक सुन्दर बनाने के प्रयासों में, वे उन्हें परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में अशुद्ध, और परमेश्वर को अस्वीकार्य कर देंगे; फिर उस वेदी पर जो भी अर्पित किया जाएगा वह भी अशुद्ध और परमेश्वर को अस्वीकार्य होगा।
एक वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाया हुए मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर की आराधना करने के लिए अपने आप को तैयार करना होता है। जिस प्रकार से लेवी मंदिर में अपने संगीत वाद्यों के साथ आराधना आरंभ करने के लिए तैयार खड़े थे, उसी प्रकार से विश्वासी को भी उसके अन्दर जो कुछ है, उस सब के साथ परमेश्वर के वचन में दी गई उस की निर्धारित विधि के अनुसार आराधना करने के लिए तैयार होना चाहिए। इसका अर्थ है कि उसे परमेश्वर के वचन से भली-भांति अवगत होना चाहिए, और मनुष्य के नहीं परमेश्वर के वचन का आज्ञाकारी होना चाहिए। उसे समझना चाहिए कि सच्ची आराधना क्या है, और बाइबल के बाहर की बातों, तथा मनुष्यों द्वारा बनाई गई रीतियों और कार्य-विधियों से बिलकुल अलग रहना चाहिए, वे चाहे कितनी भी आकर्षक लगें, या कोई व्यक्ति उनके बारे में चाहे जो भी कहे। पालन करने का मूल सिद्धांत है, “यदि बात परमेश्वर के वचन में से नहीं है, तो फिर वह शैतान की ओर से है”, इसलिए कभी भी बाइबल से बाहर की किसी भी बात को करने के लिए कोई समझौता नहीं करें। परमेश्वर की आराधना, उपासना, और उससे संगति रखने के लिए जो बाइबल नहीं कहती है, वैसी किसी बात का पालन नहीं करें।
जो मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य आराधना करना चाहता है, उसे यह परख कर देखना चाहिए कि क्या वह परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित रीति से, उसके द्वारा उसके नबियों में होकर दिए गए उसके वचन के अनुसार आराधना कर रहा है कि नहीं, जैसा कि 2 इतिहास 29:25 में लिखा है। इसके अतिरिक्त जो भी हो, वह परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं है, और योग्य रीति से परमेश्वर की आराधना करना नहीं है। आज परमेश्वर के नाम में, किन्तु मनुष्यों के बनाए हुए तरीकों और रीतियों के अनुसार, जो बहुत आकर्षक और सुन्दर था श्रद्धापूर्ण प्रतीत होते हैं, बहुत से स्थानों पर परमेश्वर की आराधना की जाती है; किन्तु यह वह नहीं है जो परमेश्वर ने कहा है, बल्कि वह है जो मनुष्यों ने निर्धारित किया है। साथ ही, यह भी बहुत सामान्य रीति से देखने में आता है कि लोग आराधना के नाम पर चिल्लाते हैं, शोर मचाते हैं, उछलते हैं, विचित्र व्यवहार करते हैं, इधर-उधर हिलते-डुलते रहते हैं, एक अव्यवस्था और गड़बड़ी का माहौल बना देते हैं, न कि वैसे व्यवस्थित और क्रम के अनुसार आराधना करने का जैसा वचन कहता है कि आराधना की जाए (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:31-33), और फिर बाइबल के विपरीत अपने इस समस्त मनगढ़ंत व्यवहार को पवित्र आत्मा का प्रकटीकरण कहकर, उसके नाम पर थोप देते हैं; जब कि बाइबल में ऐसी कोई भी बात कहीं पर भी नहीं लिखी गई है। तो फिर इसमें अचरज की क्या बात है कि ऐसे लोग अपनी इस ‘आराधना’ के द्वारा कुछ समय के लिए शारीरिक रोमांच का तो अनुभव कर लेते हैं, किन्तु वे बाइबल से बाहर की शिक्षाओं और रीतियों में ही बढ़ते हैं, मनुष्यों की आज्ञाकारिता में ही उन्नति करते हैं, किन्तु अपने आत्मिक जीवनों में, परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में चलने में, कभी कोई उन्नति नहीं करते हैं। अगले लेख में हम आराधना के आरंभ होने के बारे में देखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Being Transformed To Worship (7)
Through our study from 2 Chronicles chapter 29 we have seen that to be transformed into the kind of worshipper that God is looking for, i.e., one who worships God in spirit and in truth, the Christian Believer has to go through four steps. The first three of these steps are about preparing and sanctifying self to glorify God and worship Him worthily. It is only after these three initial steps have been properly completed, that the person can get started with the fourth step of starting to worship God. Without an adequate and proper preparation of the first three steps he will not be able to worship God worthily, and will not be able to enjoy the blessings and eternal fruits of worshipping. This fourth step is completed through four stages, and in the last article we had seen the first stage of the fourth step from 2 Chronicles 29:20-24 - a public confession of being a sinner and seeking God’s forgiveness for them; bringing self and every controlling influence in life to the Lord and putting it all under the Lord’s control. As often as a Believer sins, he has to come to the Lord, repent for the sin and acknowledge before the Lord where and for what he has fallen, and ask for the Lord’s forgiveness for it. Only those who enjoy this close confidence of approaching God whenever they need His help, also have the heart and ability to worship God, exalt and glorify Him. After this first stage, comes the second stage of the worship beginning.
Stage 2 – 2 Chronicles 29:21-26 - Get ready to Worship as God has Ordained: Here we see that as the animals for the sin offering are sacrificed and prepared to be offered on the altar as the sin offering (verses 20-24), Hezekiah stations the Levites with the musical instruments in the house of the Lord, ready for beginning the worship (verses 25-26). But note that it clearly says in verse 25 that this was done “...according to the commandment of David, of Gad the king's seer, and of Nathan the prophet; for thus was the commandment of the Lord by his prophets.” The sacrifices and sin offerings were to be made, the worship was to be done only according to God’s commandments given through His prophets. We had seen the same principal in the first three preparatory steps as well; the cleansing, sanctification, preparing to worship, etc., was to be done as had been instructed by God. There is no scope or acceptance of any man-made methods and rituals, however logical, reverential, and pleasing they may seem, in the worship and obedience of the Lord.
This basic principle, of complete submission and obedience to the Lord for functioning for Him, has been illustrated many times in God’s Word. Let us look at some examples:
In Exodus, from chapter 35 onwards, where God instructs Moses about the Tabernacle, its furnishings and various objects, and the people who will make it, till the end in chapter 40, where the Tabernacle is set up and worship is begun, God repeatedly emphasized to Moses that everything had to be done just the way He had told Moses. Nobody was to do anything other than what God had instructed in making and setting up God’s sanctuary and worshipping God in it.
King Saul, took upon himself the role of God’s prophet and priest, and in place of Samuel offered sacrifices, before going into battle, since Samuel had delayed in coming at the appointed time. The Lord did not accept this, and told him that his impatience and disobedience had cost him his kingdom (1 Samuel 13:11-14).
But Saul did not learn his lesson, and again similarly disobeyed God. God, through Samuel, asked him to utterly destroy the Amalekites and everything of theirs, not save anything at all (1 Samuel 15:3). But Saul, out of fear of men, disobeys God and saves the good-looking animals, ostensibly, to “sacrifice to God” (1 Samuel 15:15). The result was that he lost his kingdom (1 Samuel 15:16-23).
When King David wanted to move the Ark of the Covenant, from the house of Abinadab, to Jerusalem, 1 Chronicles chapter 13 describes the preparations he made for doing it - all according to his own thinking, and in consultations with other men, without considering what God’s instructions about doing this were. As they started to move the Ark according to their plans, with a lot of singing and praising God, soon disaster struck; and 1 Chronicles 13:11-13 says that this made David angry and afraid, and he would not move the Ark. In 1 Chronicles 15 we find that finally David realises his mistake, what went wrong the first time, and rectifies it. David acknowledges in 1 Chronicles 15:2 that only the Levites are to transport the Ark, and no one else; and then in 1 Chronicles 15:13, he also acknowledges that because they had not done it in the prescribed manner, therefore the anger of the Lord broke upon them. When David does it in the prescribed manner, there was joy all around.
The basic principle of worshipping God in a manner acceptable to Him is given in Exodus, after the giving of the Ten Commandments, in Exodus 20:23-26. Here, take particular note of verses 25 and 26. God specifically says that to worship Him, either an altar of earth, or of natural stones has to be used, nothing else. If stones are used, no man is to use any of his tools on them to hew or carve them, with the intention of beautifying them. For trying to beautify them from the form God has given them, in God’s eyes it is profaning them, therefore, rendering them unacceptable to God; and anything offered on such an altar also becomes profane and unacceptable to God.
The truly Born-Again Christian Believer, has to prepare himself, to worship the Lord God. As the Levites stood ready in the Temple to start worshipping with their musical instruments, the Believer has to be ready with everything within him to worship God in the manner God has given in His Word. This implies that he should be well versed in God’s word, should be obedient to God’s Word not man’s, understand what true worship actually is, and absolutely avoid unBiblical, man-made rituals and practices, no matter how appealing they may seem or what anyone says about them. The basic dictum to keep in mind is, “If it is not from God’s Word, then it is from Satan”, therefore, never to compromise into doing anything that the Bible does not say has to be done to worship God, to fellowship with Him.
The Christian Believer desiring to worship God in a manner acceptable to Him, has to discern and ensure that he worships God in the manner that God has ordained in His Word through His prophets, as it says in 2 Chronicles 29:25. Anything other than that is unacceptable to God, and is not worthily worshipping God. Today, many man-made rituals and procedures are carried out in the name of God for His worship, they may seem very gaudy and attractive, or even reverential, but they actually are not what God has said, but what man has decreed. Also, very commonly people shout, make odd noises, jump, move around doing strange actions, create a chaos and commotion, instead of the orderly and sequential manner in which worship is to be done (1 Corinthians 14:31-33), and all of this unBiblical behavior is then foisted upon the Holy Spirit, calling it as His manifestation; whereas there is nothing written anywhere in the Bible to support this. Is it any surprise then, that these ‘worshippers’, though they have a short-timed physical exhilaration, though they may grow in unBiblical teachings and practices, in obedience to men, but they never grow in their spiritual lives, in their obedience to God. In the next article we will see about the actual worshipping beginning.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
