वचन की आज्ञाकारिता की अनिवार्यता
पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया अभी निर्माणाधीन है, प्रभु यीशु द्वारा बनाई जा रही है, उसमें अभी प्रभु के प्रति समर्पित लोग, प्रभु द्वारा जोड़े जा रहे हैं, और अभी कलीसिया को अपने वचन के स्नान के द्वारा प्रभु पवित्र, निर्दोष, बेदाग़, बेझुर्री करता जा रहा है। कलीसिया की इस गतिमान (dynamic) स्थिति में उसके विभिन्न कार्यों और दायित्वों के निर्वाह के लिए, प्रभु ने कलीसिया के सदस्यों में से कुछ लोगों को विशेष ज़िम्मेदारियों के साथ नियुक्त किया है। इफिसियों 4:11 में हम प्रभु द्वारा की गई इन नियुक्तियों और नियुक्त लोगों की सेवकाइयों के बारे में पढ़ते हैं। ये कार्यकर्ता हैं प्रेरित, भविष्यद्वक्ता, सुसमाचार प्रचारक, रखवाले, और उपदेशक। मूल यूनानी भाषा में, कलीसिया तथा मसीही विश्वास के सन्दर्भ में न पाँचों सेवकाइयों के लिए जो शब्द प्रयोग किए गए हैं वे दिखाते हैं कि ये पाँचों सेवकाइयां परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई से संबंध रखती हैं। अर्थात, किसी भी स्थानीय कलीसिया की उन्नति और स्थिरता के लिए, शैतान द्वारा उसे बिगाड़े जाने से सुरक्षित रखने के लिए इफिसियों 4:11 की, परमेश्वर के वचन से संबंधित पाँच प्रकार की सेवकाइयां, तथा प्रेरितों 2:38-42 की वे सात बातें जिन्हें हम अभी देख कर चुके हैं, अनिवार्य हैं। इन सभी बातों की उपस्थिति, पालन, और निर्वाह ही कलीसिया के प्रभु में दृढ़ और स्थिर बने रहने का आधार है। प्रेरित यूहन्ना के द्वारा, प्रभु यीशु प्रकाशितवाक्य 2 और 3 अध्याय में अपनी सात कलीसियाओं को दिए गए संदेशों में, सात में से पाँच कलीसियाओं को कड़े दण्ड की चेतावनियाँ देता है, क्योंकि वे उसके वचन और आज्ञाकारिता में बने नहीं रहे। ध्यान दीजिए कि प्रभु इन सातों कलीसियाओं को “कलीसिया” कहकर ही संबोधित करता है, कुछ बातों के लिए उनकी प्रशंसा और सराहना भी करता है, किन्तु उनमें से पाँच कलीसियाएं ऐसी थीं जिनमें पाई जाने वाली कुछ बातें और कार्य प्रभु के वचन, उसकी आज्ञाकारिता, और प्रभु की इच्छा के अनुसार नहीं थे। प्रभु ने उन्हें इन बातों और कार्यों के बारे में चिताया, और उसकी इस चेतावनी की बात को न मानने के भारी दण्ड के बारे में भी बताया। और आज हम उन सातों कलीसियाओं को केवल इतिहास की पुस्तकों में या फिर परमेश्वर के वचन के वृतांत में ही पाते हैं, अन्ततः वे कलीसियाएं पृथ्वी के अपने अस्तित्व में, प्रभु के प्रति आज्ञाकारिता में स्थिर और दृढ़ तथा स्थापित नहीं रह सकीं, पृथ्वी से मिट गईं। प्रभु के वचन के साथ समझौता, उसमें सांसारिक बातों, ज्ञान, और सांसारिक समझ की मिलावट, और प्रभु की अनाज्ञाकारिता हमेशा ही व्यक्तिगत तथा कलीसिया के जीवन के लिए हानिकारक एवं विनाशक रहे हैं।
आरंभिक कलीसिया का इतिहास इस बात का प्रमाण और सूचक है कि मसीही विश्वासियों के व्यक्तिगत जीवन की, तथा कलीसिया की उन्नति, उनके व्यक्तिगत जीवनों में तथा मण्डली के जीवन में वचन की सही सेवकाई के साथ जुड़ी रही है। जहाँ प्रभु के वचन को आदर और आज्ञाकारिता मिली है, वहाँ उन्नति भी हुई है, अन्यथा जहाँ भी वचन का निरादर, वचन में मिलावट, वचन की अनाज्ञाकारिता आई, वहीं पतन और विनाश भी शीघ्र ही आ गए। इसलिए इसमें कोई अचरज की बात नहीं है कि प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई चार बातों, जिन में उस प्रथम मण्डली के लोग लौलीन रहते थे, उन में से पहली थी “प्रेरितों से शिक्षा पाने”; और प्रभु यीशु द्वारा अपने स्वर्गारोहण से ठीक पहले शिष्यों को दी गई सुसमाचार प्रचार की महान आज्ञा में भी लोगों को प्रभु की बातें सिखाने के लिए कहा गया है। बाइबल में आरंभिक कलीसिया की उन्नति के, प्रभु तथा उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता के साथ जुड़े होने से संबंधित प्रेरितों के काम से कुछ पदों को देखिए, और यह बात स्वतः ही प्रकट एवं स्पष्ट हो जाएगी:
* प्रेरितों 4:4 परन्तु वचन के सुनने वालों में से बहुतों ने विश्वास किया, और उन की गिनती पांच हजार पुरुषों के लगभग हो गई।
* प्रेरितों 5:14 और विश्वास करने वाले बहुतेरे पुरुष और स्त्रियां प्रभु की कलीसिया में और भी अधिक आकर मिलते रहे।
* प्रेरितों 6:7 और परमेश्वर का वचन फैलता गया और यरूशलेम में चेलों की गिनती बहुत बढ़ती गई; और याजकों का एक बड़ा समाज इस मत के आधीन हो गया।
* प्रेरितों 9:31 सो सारे यहूदिया, और गलील, और सामरिया में कलीसिया को चैन मिला, और उसकी उन्नति होती गई; और वह प्रभु के भय और पवित्र आत्मा की शान्ति में चलती और बढ़ती जाती थी।
* प्रेरितों 11:20-21 परन्तु उन में से कितने कुप्रुसी और कुरेनी थे, जो अन्ताकिया में आकर यूनानियों को भी प्रभु यीशु का सुसमाचार की बातें सुनाने लगे। और प्रभु का हाथ उन पर था, और बहुत लोग विश्वास कर के प्रभु की ओर फिरे।
* प्रेरितों 12:24 परन्तु परमेश्वर का वचन बढ़ता और फैलता गया।
* प्रेरितों 13:48-49 यह सुनकर अन्यजाति आनन्दित हुए, और परमेश्वर के वचन की बड़ाई करने लगे: और जितने अनन्त जीवन के लिये ठहराए गए थे, उन्होंने विश्वास किया। तब प्रभु का वचन उस सारे देश में फैलने लगा।
* प्रेरितों 16:4-5 और नगर नगर जाते हुए वे उन विधियों को जो यरूशलेम के प्रेरितों और प्राचीनों ने ठहराई थीं, मानने के लिये उन्हें पहुंचाते जाते थे। इस प्रकार कलीसिया विश्वास में स्थिर होती गई और गिनती में प्रति दिन बढ़ती गई।
* प्रेरितों 19:20 यों प्रभु का वचन बल पूर्वक फैलता गया और प्रबल होता गया।
इनके अतिरिक्त रोमियों 16:25, कुलुस्सियों 2:6, 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 3:2, 2 तीमुथियुस 3:16-17, इब्रानियों 13:20-21, 2 पतरस 1:12, आदि पद भी इस बात को दिखाते और प्रमाणित करते हैं।
प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को, उन प्रेरितों को जिसने उसने नियुक्त किया था (लूका 6:13) को जगत के छोर तक उसके सुसमाचार के प्रचार का दायित्व सौंपा (प्रेरितों 1:8), और अपनी प्रथम मण्डली को अपने शिष्यों से, प्रेरितों से उसके वचन की शिक्षा पाने के निर्देश दिए (प्रेरितों 2:42)। तब से लेकर आज तक, संसार भर में, मसीही मंडलियों और मसीही विश्वासियों का इतिहास इस बात का गवाह रहा है कि जो मसीही विश्वासी और मण्डली प्रभु के वचन और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में बनी रहे, बढ़ती रही, वह उन्नत होती गई, और स्थिर बनी रही। जो प्रभु के वचन से हटकर, औपचारिकताओं और रीतियों-रस्मों-परंपराओं के निर्वाह में चले गए, वे प्रभु से भी दूर चले गए, उसके जन नहीं रहे, चाहे बाहरी स्वरूप में वे प्रभु के साथ बने रहने के जितने भी प्रयास करते रहे हों।
प्रभु यीशु के संसार में प्रथम आगमन के समय, यरूशलेम में मंदिर भी था, मंदिर में याजक और लेवी भी थे, सारे पर्व मनाए जाते थे और बलिदान चढ़ाए जाते थे, बहुत बड़ी संख्या में भक्त लोग नियमित वहाँ आया करते थे, और व्यवस्था तथा पुराने नियम की बातों का कड़ाई से पालन करने और करवाने वाला फरीसियों, शास्त्रियों, सदूकियों का बड़ा और अति-प्रभावी समुदाय भी वहीं पर था। किन्तु इन सभी ने मिलकर परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट कर दिया था, उसे औपचारिकताओं और रीतियों-रस्मों-परंपराओं के निर्वाह में बदल दिया था। इसीलिए, जब वह वचन देहधारी होकर उनके सामने आया तो, उसके जीवन, कार्यों, और शिक्षाओं के प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाणों की बावजूद, उन्होंने उसे नहीं पहचाना, उसका अनादर और निन्दा की, और उसे क्रूस पर मरवा दिया, फिर उसके अनुयायियों को भी सताने और मरवाने पर उतारू हो गए। आज न वह मंदिर बचा, न वे याजक, लेवी, फरीसी, शास्त्री, सदूकी, और न ही वे रीतियाँ और पर्व बचे; किन्तु प्रभु का वचन और प्रभु के लोग सारे संसार में फैल गए, स्थापित हो गए, और बढ़ते जा रहे हैं।
अगले लेख से हम इन पाँचों सेवकाइयों और सेवकों के बारे में देखना आरंभ करेंगे। किन्तु यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो यह आपके लिए अपने आप को जाँचने-परखने का अवसर और समय है कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह और उसके वचन एवं उसकी आज्ञाकारिता के प्रति आपका रवैया क्या है? जाँच-परख कर सुनिश्चित कर लीजिए कि आपका विश्वास वास्तव में वैसा ही है जैसा बाइबल सिखाती और बताती है। कहीं आपका “मसीही विश्वास” किसी मत या डिनॉमिनेशन के नियमों, रीतियों, परंपराओं आदि की औपचारिकता के निर्वाह पर आधारित और वहीं तक सीमित तो नहीं है? क्योंकि यदि ऐसा है, तो आप एक बहुत बड़े भ्रम में हैं, और आपको मसीही विश्वास की वास्तविकता को पहचान कर, उसके पालन एवं निर्वाह में आना अनिवार्य है।
यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Necessity of Being Obedient to the Word of God
In the previous article we had seen that the Church of the Lord Jesus is “Under-Construction”, is being built by the Lord Jesus; people committed and devoted to the Lord Jesus are being added to it, and the Lord is continually cleaning His Church by washing with His Word, to make it pure, holy, and without any spot or wrinkle. In this dynamic state of the church, for the fulfillment of the various works of the Church, the Lord has appointed some of the members with some special responsibilities. In Ephesians 4:11 we read about these special appointees and their ministries. These workers in the Lord’s Church are Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. The words used in the original Greek language for these workers, convey the meaning that in context of the Church and the Christian Faith, they all have to do with various ministries and functions related to the Word of God. In other words, in every local Church, for its being firm, established, and growing, for its remaining safe from the corruption and harm by Satan, these five ministries of Ephesians 4:11 and the seven things of Acts 2:38-42, which we have seen in the last few articles, are essential. Their presence, obedience, and continuing steadfastly in them is the key to that Christian Believer and that Church remaining firm and established in the Lord and growing in Him. Through His Apostle John, in the messages to the seven Churches in Revelation chapters 2 and 3, five out of those seven Churches have been admonished and warned about the impending retribution of God upon them, because they were disobedient to the Lord and His Word, did not continue faithfully in what had been taught to them. Take note that though the Lord addresses these seven as “Church”, praises and commends them for some things in them, but there were five churches which also had some things and works that were not in accordance with the teachings and the will of the Lord Jesus. The Lord pointed out and warned them about those things, and cautioned them about the severe consequences of continuing to be disobedient to Him. Today, we find mention of those seven Churches in the books of history and as a historical account in the Word of God; they did not remain firm and established in their obedience to the Lord, and eventually were brought to an end and destroyed from the face of the earth. Compromising with, and disobeying God’s Word, corrupting the Word of God with worldly things, knowledge, ways, and wisdom, and disobedience to the Lord God have always been harmful and destructive to the lives of Christian Believers and the Church.
The history of the first Church is testimony to the fact that the growth and edification of the Christian Believers and the Church, their remaining firm and established in the Lord God was always through the correct and faithful ministry of God’s Word amongst them. Whenever and wherever compromising with and corruption of God’s Word happened, decline and destruction soon followed. Therefore, it is not surprising that the first amongst the four pillars of the Christian life and Church given in Acts 2:42 is “continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine”; and the Lord Jesus too, before His ascension to heaven, in His Great Commission to His disciples, asked them to teach to the people of the world all of what He had taught them. This will become clear and evident as you consider some verses from the book of Acts, related to the people being joined to the first Church and their being obedient to God’s Word:
* Acts 4:4 However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
* Acts 5:14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women
* Acts 6:7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.
* Acts 9:31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.
* Acts 11:20-21 But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
* Acts 12:24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.
* Acts 13:48-49 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.
Besides these verses Romans 16:25, Colossians 2:6, 1 Thessalonians 3:2, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 13:20-21, 2 Peter 1:12, etc., also illustrate and prove the point.
The Lord Jesus entrusted the responsibility of taking the gospel to His disciples, the Apostles He had chosen (Luke 6:13), to the ends of the world (Acts 1:8); and commanded His first Church to learn His Word from His disciples, the Apostles (Acts 2:42). Since then, till date, the history of the church all over the world bears testimony to the fact that those Christian Believers and Churches that remained faithful and obedient to the Lord and His Word, they continued to stay firm and established, grow, and be edified. Those who moved away from the Word of God into fulfilling formalities, rituals, traditions, ceremonies, feasts and festivals etc., they could never remain and continue with the Lord God, though externally they may have put up an appearance of being with the Lord and doing things in His name.
At the time of the first coming of the Lord to this world, there was Temple of the Lord God in Jerusalem, there were Priests and Levites who served there, they celebrated the various feasts and festivals prescribed in the Law and offered the prescribed sacrifices, many devout Jews from all over the world would come and diligently observe all these things; and the very influential sects of the Jews that learned, taught and claimed to live by God’s Word very strictly, i.e., the Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes were also present there in Jerusalem. But all of them had corrupted the Word of God, and had converted God’s Law and commandments into a set of perfunctory “do’s and don'ts”, into rites, rituals, and ceremonies to be fulfilled as tradition and formality. When the Word they claimed to live by, became flesh and came before them, despite the evident proof of His life, teachings, and works, they did not recognize Him;instead, they insulted and blasphemed against Him, had Him crucified, and then got after His followers to persecute and destroy them. But today that Temple, those Priests and Levites, those Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes etc. and none of those ceremonies and festivals have remained; but the Word of God has spread, has been established, and is growing all over the world.
From the next article, we will start considering these five ministries and the workers appointed by the Lord for them. If you are a Christian Believer, then this is the time for you to look into your life and check it out for your attitude and obedience towards the Word of God. Examine and see if your “Christian Faith” is just as it Biblically ought to be, or is it nothing more than formally knowing and observing the rites, rituals, ceremonies, and traditions of some sect, or group, or some denomination. If your “faith” is of the latter kind, then you are living in a great deception and falsehood; you need to immediately come out of this, and come into the true Biblical Christian Faith, instead of some man-made rules, regulations, and rituals.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.
