कलीसिया का भण्डारीपन -

व्यावहारिक निहितार्थ – 4 

परमेश्वर की कलीसिया के अंग होने और परमेश्वर की अन्य सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता में रखे जाने के कारण, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिए गए इन प्रावधानों का भण्डारी भी है। परमेश्वर ने ये प्रावधान उसे इसलिए उपलब्ध करवाए हैं कि वह योग्य रीति से अपने मसीही जीवन को जी सके और परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई को पूरा कर सके। परमेश्वर के प्रावधान का भण्डारी होने, अर्थात जिस कलीसिया या मण्डली में परमेश्वर ने उसे रखा है, वहाँ परमेश्वर का भण्डारी होने के नाते, उसे प्रयास करने चाहिए कि वह उस कलीसिया या मण्डली के ठीक से कार्य करते रहने में सहायक बना रहे। इन व्यावहारिक निहितार्थों के आरंभिक लेख में हमने देखा था कि ऐसा करने का एक तरीका है कलीसिया में कोई भी दल या गुट बनाने वाली और विभाजन लाने वाली सभी बातों से विश्वासी को दूर रहना चाहिए, और ऐसी प्रत्येक प्रवृत्ति के उठने या उसके आगे बढ़ने को रोकना चाहिए। आज हम इसी से सम्बन्धित एक और बात पर ध्यान देंगे, जो है कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी होने के प्रति विश्वासी की ज़िम्मेदारी, और फिर अगले लेख में हम उन कुछ मुख्य कारणों को देखेंगे जो कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी में बाधा बनते हैं।

परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल हमें सिखाती है कि उन्नति या बढ़ोतरी होते रहना मसीही विश्वासी का एक गुण होना चाहिए; वे किसी एक स्थान पर आकर कभी रुक नहीं सकते हैं (भजन 92:12-14)। पवित्र आत्मा पौलुस में होकर, इफिसियों 4:15 में विश्वासियों से कहता है कि सब बातों में मसीह में बढ़ते चले जाएँ। बाइबल में शारीरिक बढ़ोतरी के सभी चरणों को रूपक के समान आत्मिक बढ़ोतरी के लिए भी उपयोग किया गया है। प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी एक नए जन्मे हुए शिशु के समान नया-जन्म लेता है, और फिर परमेश्वर के वचन के निर्मल आत्मिक दूध के द्वारा बढ़ना आरंभ करता है (1 पतरस 2:1-2)। नए जन्मे हुए शिशु से फिर वह बाल्यावस्था में आता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1), फिर बालक होने से जवान, और फिर पिता होने तक पहुंचता है (1 यूहन्ना 2:12-13)। इसी दौरान, किसी स्तर पर उससे अपेक्षा रखी जाती है कि वह औरों को भी परमेश्वर का वचन सिखाने लायक परिपक्व हो जाएगा (इब्रानियों 5:12)।

इसी प्रकार से कलीसिया भी एक क्रियाशील संरचना है, क्योंकि वह अभी भी निर्माणाधीन है (1 पतरस 2:5)। पौलुस में होकर पवित्र आत्मा इफिसियों 2:21 में कहता है कि सारी रचना एक साथ मिल कर प्रभु में एक पवित्र मन्दिर बनती चली जा रही है। यह बढ़ोतरी या उन्नति प्रभु के आने तक दो कारणों से चलती ही रहेगी। पहला कारण है कि इस मन्दिर, प्रभु की कलीसिया का प्रत्येक अंग, जब तक कि वह इस पृथ्वी पर है, जैसा कि हमने ऊपर देखा है, आत्मिकता में बढ़ता और परिपक्व होता चला जाएगा; इसलिए कलीसिया भी, जिसका वह अंग है, आत्मिक रीति से क्रियाशील रहेगी, बढ़ती और परिपक्व होती रहेगी। दूसरी बात, प्रभु की कलीसिया में नए विश्वासी तब तक जोड़े जाते रहेंगे जब तक कि प्रभु के आगमन से पहले अंतिम न जोड़ दिया जाए। इसलिए दोनों कारणों से कलीसिया एक गतिशील संरचना रहेगी, निरन्तर सँख्या एवं गुणवत्ता में – गिनती तथा आत्मिकता में, बढ़ती चली जाएगी, कभी किसी स्थान पर आकर रुक नहीं जाएगी।

यह मसीही विश्वासियों को, कलीसिया के प्रत्येक अंग को, परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई ज़िम्मेदारी है और उनके परमेश्वर की कलीसिया का भण्डारी होने का एक भाग है कि जिस स्थानीय कलीसिया में परमेश्वर ने उन्हें रखा है, उसकी उन्नति एवं बढ़ोतरी में योगदान करें; और यह उनके जीवन भर एक निरन्तर चलती रहने वाली बात होनी चाहिए। कलीसिया या मण्डली की यह बढ़ोतरी उसके सदस्यों की संख्या में, अर्थात, स्थानीय कलीसियाओं में नया-जन्म पाए हुए नए लोगों के जोड़े चले जाने, और साथ ही गुणवत्ता में, उन लोगों के आत्मिक स्तर में बढ़ते जाने के द्वारा दिखनी चाहिए; सदस्यों को अपनी सेवकाई में लगे रहना चाहिए, और प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी बने रहना चाहिए।

कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति परमेश्वर की ओर से होती है (कुलुस्सियों 2:19); और परमेश्वर की आशीषें उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में बने रहने से आती हैं। इसलिए, परमेश्वर से यह बढ़ोतरी तब आएगी जब प्रत्येक अंग, अर्थात प्रत्येक सदस्य, अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी को निभाएगा (इफिसियों 4:16)। प्रत्येक के द्वारा उनकी निज ज़िम्मेदारी का निर्वाह और परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई सेवकाई को योग्य रीति से करना, व्यक्तिगत रूप में उस सदस्य पर तथा सामूहिक रूप में कलीसिया पर परमेश्वर की आशीष को लाता है, और उस सदस्य की तथा देह, अर्थात कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी होती है।

यदि कोई कलीसिया या मण्डली बढ़ नहीं रही है, या उसमें पर्याप्त उन्नति एवं बढ़ोतरी नहीं है, तो इसका अर्थ है कि उसके अंग, उसके सदस्य, अपनी जिम्मेदारियों को, अपनी सेवकाइयों को सही रीति से पूरा नहीं कर रहे हैं, और उनके मसीही जीवनों में कुछ गंभीर गड़बड़ी है। बढ़ोतरी में यह घटी विश्वासियों के जीवनों में कुछ कमियों के कारण हो सकती है, जिसे हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, तथा प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Church Stewardship - Practical Implications – 4

 

As members of God’s Church and having been placed in fellowship with God’s children, every Christian Believer is also God’s steward of these God given provisions. These provisions have been made available to him by God for worthily living his Christian life and fulfilling his God assigned ministry. As a steward of God’s provision, namely, being a steward of the Church where God has made him a member and placed him, he must make efforts to help in the proper functioning of the Church or Assembly. In the initial article on these practical implications, we have seen that one way of doing this is to stay away from all things that lead to factionalism and divisions in the Church, and try to stop any such tendency from occurring or developing any further. Today we will start looking at another related aspect, i.e. the Believer’s responsibility for the growth of the Church, and in the next article we will look at some main reasons that obstruct the growth of the Church.

God’s Word the Bible teaches us that growth must be a characteristic of the Christian Believers; they cannot remain static at any point (Psalm 92:12-14). In Ephesians 4:15 the Holy Spirit through Paul says to the Believers to grow up in all things in the Lord Jesus. The Bible metaphorically mentions various stages of physical growth as stages of spiritual growth as well. Every Christian Believer is Born-Again as a spiritual infant; he feeds on the milk of God’s Word and grows thereby (1 Peter 2:1-2). From a new-born he grows up to be an infant (1 Corinthians 3:1), then to being a child, then a young person, going on to be a father (1 John 2:12-13). Somewhere along this process, it is expected of him to be mature enough to start teaching God’s Word to others also (Hebrews 5:12).

Similarly, the Church too is a dynamic structure, since it is still under construction (1 Peter 2:5). The Holy Spirit through Paul says in Ephesians 2:21 that the whole building being joined together grows into a holy temple in the Lord. This growth, for two reasons, will continue till the Lord comes. One is that every member of this temple, the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, as we have seen above will continue to grow and mature spiritually, as long as he is on earth; therefore, the Church, of which he is a part will also remain dynamic and growing spiritually. Secondly, the Born-Again Believers will continue to be added to the Lord’s Church, till the last one is added before the Lord’s coming. Therefore, on both counts, the Church will remain a dynamic entity, continually growing in quantity as well as quality - numbers as well as spirituality, never static or stagnant at any point.

This is the God given responsibility of the Christian Believers, i.e., of every Church member, and it is a part of their stewardship towards the Church of God, to see that they all contribute towards the growth of the local Church where God has placed them; and this should be a continual process in their lives. This growth of the Church must be evident in its quantity, or, numbers - i.e., new saved Born-Again people being continually added to the local churches, as well as in quality - through the growth in spiritual status of the members; the members must remain involved in fulfilling their ministry, and being useful for the Lord.

The growth of the Church comes about because of the increase that comes from God (Colossians 2:19); and God’s blessings come by being obedient to Him. So, this increase from God will come about when every part, i.e., every member of the Church, does his share (Ephesians 4:16). The fulfilling of their respective responsibility and worthily carrying out their God assigned ministry by every individual member of the Church, leads to God’s blessings individually upon the members as well as collectively upon the Church, and causes the growth of the individual as well as of the whole body i.e., the Church.

If a Church is not growing, or not growing adequately, that means its members are not fulfilling their responsibilities and ministry, and that there is something seriously wrong in their Christian lives. This lack of growth can be due to deficiencies in various aspects in the lives of the Believers, which we will see in the next article.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    जब तक कि व्यक्ति उस बात के बारे में जानकारी नहीं रखता है, वह न तो उसका उचित उपयोग कर सकता है, न ही उसकी सही देखभाल कर सकता है। और न ही उसे पता होगा कि किस बात या व्यवहार से उस की हानि हो सकती है, इसलिए उसे हानि से बचाकर सुरक्षित कैसे रखना है। परमेश्वर ने नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों को विभिन्न प्रावधान दिए हैं जिनकी सहायता से वे अपनी बुलाहट के योग्य तथा परमेश्वर की सन्तान होने की गवाही का जीवन जी सकें। प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी, परमेश्वर ने उसे जो भी दिया है, उसका भण्डारी भी है; इसलिए यह उसकी ज़िम्मेदारी है कि न केवल उस प्रावधान को संभाल के रखे जो परमेश्वर ने उसे दिया है, बल्कि उसका उचित उपयोग, जैसा परमेश्वर चाहता है, भी करे। परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को दिए गए प्रावधानों में से एक है कि उसे परमेश्वर की कलीसिया का अंग बनाया गया है और उसे परमेश्वर की अन्य सन्तानों की सहभागिता में रखा गया है, और इस विशेषाधिकार के लिए वह परमेश्वर का भण्डारी भी है। पिछले लेखों में हमने मत्ती 16:18 से परमेश्वर की कलीसिया के बारे में कुछ बुनियादी बातें सीखी हैं। अब हम उन सीखे गए तथ्यों के व्यावहारिक निहितार्थों के द्वारा, उन तथ्यों को उपयोग में लाना सीख रहे हैं। आज, इस विषय पर हमारे तीसरे लेख में, हम विश्वासियों द्वारा नियमित कलीसिया की सभाओं में सम्मिलित होने के बारे में देखेंगे, तब भी जब वहाँ लोगों का व्यवहार और वहाँ की परिस्थितियाँ प्रतिकूल न भी हों।

    बाइबल दिखाती है कि प्रभु यीशु हमेशा ही सब्त के दिन आराधनालय में अथवा मन्दिर में जाया करता था; और वहाँ पर शिक्षा भी देता था (मत्ती 13:54; मरकुस 1:21; लूका 4:15; 6:6; यूहन्ना 6:59; 18:20)। यद्यपि उसे पता था कि उसके विरोधी वहाँ पर हमेशा ही रहते हैं, और वे उसके, उसके कार्यों के, और उसकी शिक्षाओं के विरुद्ध बोलने, तथा लोगों को उसके विरुद्ध भड़काने का कोई अवसर नहीं चूकते हैं; फिर भी इन बातों के कारण वह वहाँ जाने से कभी नहीं रुका। प्रभु यीशु सब्त के दिन न केवल आराधनालयों में सिखाया करता था (मत्ती 13:54; मरकुस 6:2; लूका 4:14-15, 16-20, 31-33), परन्तु जब वह यरूशलेम में होता था, तो वहाँ पर भी मन्दिर में जाया करता था, और वहाँ भी लोगों को सिखाया करता था (मरकुस 14:49; लूका 21:38; यूहन्ना 7:14; 8:2, 20)।

    उसने केवल इस लिए कि, धर्म के अगुवे और कुछ लोग उसे पसंद नहीं करते थे, उसके विरुद्ध बोलते थे, वहाँ जाना कभी बँद नहीं किया। परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल इस बात की गवाही देती है कि सब्त के दिन परमेश्वर के घर में होना प्रभु की रीति थी, जिसे वह हमेशा निभाता था (लूका 4:16)। वहाँ पर मिलने वाले अपमान और विरोध ने उसे कभी परमेश्वर के घर से दूर नहीं किया। साथ ही इस तथ्य पर भी विचार कीजिये कि प्रभु यीशु परमेश्वर हैं; उन्हें आराधना करने के लिये किसी आराधनालय या मन्दिर में जाने की क्या आवश्यकता? यदि उन्हें कभी आराधना करने की इच्छा भी होती, तो वह घर में - अपने या किसी अन्य के, या बाहर कहीं - उस समय वे जहाँ पर भी हों, चाहे मार्ग में ही क्यों न हों, कर सकते थे। परन्तु वे आराधना करने के लिये हमेशा ही, जहाँ पर भी वे हों, वहाँ के स्थानीय आराधनालय में, या यरूशलेम में मन्दिर में जाया करते थे। जो लोग यह तर्क देते हैं कि बाइबल में ऐसा कोई निर्देश नहीं है कि आराधना के लिये कलीसिया में जाना ही है। वे घर पर भी भली-भाँति आराधना कर सकते हैं, इसलिए कलीसिया में जाने की क्या आवश्यकता है? विशेषकर किसी ऐसी कलीसिया में जहाँ उनके साथ बुरा बर्ताव किया जाता है, या उन्हें उनका उचित आदर नहीं मिलता है, वे वहाँ क्यों जाएं? यदि आराधना के दिन और समय पर परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु के लिये आराधना स्थान पर होना अनिवार्य था, तो बिना कोई भी प्रश्न उठाए और तर्क दिए, यह करना क्या हम मनुष्यों के लिये भी अनिवार्य नहीं है? क्या कोई भी मनुष्य, प्रभु परमेश्वर द्वारा स्थापित उदाहरण के जानबूझकर विरुद्ध जाने का, परमेश्वर को कोई जवाब दे पाएगा? क्या ऐसा व्यक्ति इस जानबूझकर की गई लापरवाही के परिणामों की कल्पना भी कर सकता है?

    प्रभु यीशु के मृतकों में से पुनरुत्थान और फिर स्वर्गारोहण के पश्चात, उसके शिष्य आनन्द के साथ यरूशलेम के मन्दिर में जाया करते थे (लूका 24:52-53), यह जानते हुए भी कि यहूदी लोग और उनके धार्मिक अगुवे न तो उन्हें और न ही उनके प्रभु को कदापि पसंद नहीं करते हैं। हम यह भी देखते हैं कि जब यूहन्ना और पतरस प्रार्थना के समय मन्दिर में जा रहे थे, उस समय उन्होंने एक जन्म के लँगड़े को चंगा किया, जो फिर उनके साथ मन्दिर के अन्दर गया (प्रेरितों 3:1-8)। अर्थात, उन्हें उन लोगों के साथ प्रार्थना में जुड़ने में कोई संकोच नहीं था, जिन्होंने उनके प्रभु को क्रूस पर चढ़ाया था। ऐसा इसलिए था क्योंकि वे वहाँ पर परमेश्वर का आदर करने, उसे महिमा देने के लिए जाते थे, न कि मनुष्यों को दिखाने या प्रसन्न करने के लिए। पिन्तेकुस्त के दिन के बाद, जब शिष्यों ने यरूशलेम में अपनी सेवकाई आरंभ कर ली, तो उन्हें ईश्वरीय निर्देश मिले कि वे मंदिर में प्रचार करें, और वह यह नियमित रीति से मन्दिर में तथा मंदिर के बाहर करने लगे (प्रेरितों 5:20, 25, 42), और वे ऐसा इसके कारण उन पर आए सताव के बावजूद करते रहे (प्रेरितों 5:28, 33, 40-42)।

    इसी प्रकार से हम पौलुस के जीवन और सेवकाई से भी देखते हैं कि, यद्यपि उसे परमेश्वर द्वारा मुख्यतः अन्यजातियों के मध्य सेवकाई करने के लिए नियुक्त किया गया था (प्रेरितों 9:15; गलतियों 1:16; 2:7), फिर भी अपनी सेवकाई की यात्राओं में, वह हमेशा पहले स्थानीय यहूदी आराधनालय में जाता था, और वहाँ पर सुसमाचार प्रचार करता था (प्रेरितों 13:14-15; 14:1; 17:1-2; 17:10; 17:16-17; 18:4; 18:19; 19:8)। केवल जब वे उसे वहाँ से बाहर निकाल देते थे, तब ही वह आराधनालय में जाना बँद करता था; वह भी इसलिए नहीं क्योंकि उन्होंने उसके साथ अच्छा व्यवहार नहीं किया और उसे आदर नहीं दिया, बल्कि इसलिए क्योंकि उसे अन्दर जाने और प्रचार करने की अनुमति ही नहीं रहती थी। वह जहाँ कहीं भी जाता था, उसे पता था कि देर-सवेर यहूदी उसका विरोध अवश्य करेंगे और उसके लिए परेशानियाँ खड़ी करेंगे; लेकिन जब तक उसके पास अवसर होता था, वह हमेशा अपनी सेवकाई आराधनालय से ही आरंभ करता था। पौलुस वचन के अनुसार सत्य को बोलने से नहीं रुकता था, और वहाँ से लोगों – यहूदियों और अन्यजातियों, का ध्यान आकर्षित कर लेने के बाद, वह यहूदी आराधनालय के बाहर भी अपनी सेवकाई ज़ारी रखता था, अन्यजातियों और यहूदियों, दोनों के मध्य, जो भी उसकी बात सुनना चाहता था।

    उपरोक्त हवालों से हम पौलुस की सेवकाई से सम्बन्धित एक और महत्वपूर्ण बात को भी देखते हैं, वह सबत के दिन आराधना के लिए आराधनालय में जाया ही करता था। और इसी से उसे उस स्थान के समाज में उन्हें सुसमाचार प्रचार करने के लिए मार्ग मिलता था; कभी-कभी तो उसे प्रचार के लिए निमंत्रण भी दिया गया (प्रेरितों 13:14-15)। अतः, यह जानते हुए भी कि देर-सवेर उस पर विरोध और सताव अवश्य ही आएँगे, और तब उसे आराधनालय जाना बँद करना पड़ेगा, पौलुस ने, जहाँ कहीं भी वह जाता था वहाँ पर न तो सब्त के दिन आराधना के लिए परमेश्वर के भवन में जाना छोड़ा, और न ही वहाँ पर जाकर परमेश्वर के वचन का सत्य और सुसमाचार का प्रचार करना छोड़ा। यह सभी विश्वासियों के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण शिक्षा है, विशेषकर उनके लिए जो कलीसिया या मण्डली न जाने के बहानों की तलाश में रहते हैं। जैसा कि हमने इन निहितार्थों के पहले लेख में देखा था, जब तक कि विश्वासी को कलीसिया या मण्डली से बाहर नहीं निकाल दिया जाता है, उसे सक्रिय रहते हुए वहाँ सम्मिलित होते रहना ही चाहिए, चाहे वहाँ उसे कैसी भी बातों का सामना क्यों न करना पड़े।

    तो हम चाहे प्रभु यीशु के, या उसके शिष्यों के, या पौलुस के जीवन और उदाहरण को देखें, परमेश्वर का वचन हमें यही दिखाता है कि परिस्थितियाँ और समस्याएं चाहे जो भी हों, प्रभु यीशु के अनुयायियों को परमेश्वर के भवन में आराधना तथा अन्य सभाओं के लिए सम्मिलित होना ही चाहिए। क्योंकि वहीं से परमेश्वर उन्हें उसके लिए उपयोगी होने, सुसमाचार प्रचार करने, और अपनी सेवकाइयों में फलवन्त होने के अवसर प्रदान करेगा। कलीसिया में नहीं जाने के तरीकों और बहानों की बजाए, कलीसिया का भण्डारी होने के नाते, मसीही विश्वासी की ज़िम्मेदारी है कि वह हमेशा कलीसिया की सभाओं में सम्मिलित हो। वहाँ पर केवल एक मूक दर्शक बनकर ही नहीं रहे वरना वहाँ पर अपने समय का सदुपयोग करे, और कलीसिया या मण्डली की उन्नति एवं बढ़ोतरी में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाए – इस पर हम अगले लेख से विचार करना आरंभ करेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Church Stewardship - Practical Implications – 3

 

Unless a person knows about a particular thing, he can neither properly utilize it, nor look after it properly. He will also not know what can harm it, therefore, how to keep it safe and secure from harm. God has given to the Born-Again Christian Believers various provisions for them to live a life worthy of their calling, as well as one that witnesses to the world of their being God’s children. Every Christian Believer is a steward of whatever God has given him; so, it is his responsibility to not only keep that provision safe but also to utilize it worthily, in the manner God wants him to. One of God’s provisions to every Christian Believer is his being made a member of God's Church and brought into fellowship with other of God’s children, and he is a steward of God for this privilege. In the past articles we have learnt various fundamental things about the Church of God, using Matthew 16:18 as our lead verse. We are now putting those facts to use, by learning their practical implications. Today, in our third article on this topic, we will see about the Biblical point of view on Believers regularly attending Church and fellowship, even despite facing an untoward behavior and unfavorable circumstances in the Church.

The Bible shows us that the Lord Jesus always went to the synagogue or the Temple on the Sabbath; and He also taught there (Matthew 13:54; Mark 1:21; Luke 4:15; 6:6; John 6:59; 18:20). Though He knew that His detractors were always there and they never lost an opportunity to speak against Him, His works, and His teachings, and to stir up the people against Him; yet all this never stopped Him from going there. The Lord Jesus not only preached in the Synagogues on the Sabbath (Matthew 13:54; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:14-15, 16-20, 31-33), but also when in Jerusalem, He went to the Temple, and taught the people in the Temple premises (Mark 14:49; Luke 21:38; John 7:14; 8:2, 20).

He never gave up on going there just because the religious leaders and some people did not like Him, and spoke against Him over there. God’s Word the Bible testifies that it was customary for Him to attend worship in God’s House on the Sabbath (Luke 4:16), and He always did so. The humiliation and opposition that He often received over there, never made Him stay away from the House of God. Also ponder over the fact that Lord Jesus is God; why would He need to go to any Synagogue or Temple, to worship? If at all He felt like worshipping, He could just as well do it at home - His, or someone else’s, somewhere outside - wherever He was, or even while travelling on some road. But He made it a point to always attend worship in the local Synagogue, where He was, or in the Temple when in Jerusalem. Those who argue that there is no instruction in the Bible that we must go to Church for worship. They can worship just as well at home, so should they go to a Church? Especially to a Church where they are mistreated, or not given their due honor? If it was mandatory for the Lord God Jesus to be present at the place of worship on the day and time of worship, then would it not be mandatory for us humans too? Would any person be able to explain himself before God for deliberately disregarding and disobeying something established by the Lord God through His own example? Can such a person even imagine the consequences of such willful neglect?

After the Lord’s resurrection and ascension to heaven, the disciples used to go to the Temple in Jerusalem joyfully (Luke 24:52-53), although they knew that the Jews and their religious leaders there did not like them or their Lord one bit. We see that it was when Peter and John were going into the Temple at the prayer time, that they healed the man lame from birth, and then he accompanied them inside the Temple (Acts 3:1-8). So, they had no problems in joining those, who had crucified the Lord, for prayers in the Temple. This was because they went there to honor and glorify God, not please men or show themselves to others. After the day of Pentecost, once the disciples had started their ministry in Jerusalem, they were divinely instructed to preach in the Temple, and the disciples started doing that regularly, inside and outside the Temple (Acts 5:20, 25, 42), and they did so despite the persecution it brought (Acts 5:28, 33, 40-42).

Similarly, we see from the life and ministry of Paul, that although he was appointed by the Lord to primarily be His minister amongst the Gentiles (Acts 9:15; Galatians 1:16; 2:7), still, in his missionary journeys, he always first went to the local Jewish synagogue and preached the gospel there (Acts 13:14-15; 14:1; 17:1-2; 17:10; 17:16-17; 18:4; 18:19; 19:8). It was only when they thrust him out, that he stopped going to the Synagogue; not because they did not respect him and treat him well there; but because he no longer had permission to enter in there or preach the gospel there. Wherever he went, he knew that sooner or later the Jews will oppose him and cause trouble for him, but while he had the opportunity, he always started his ministry from the Synagogue. Paul never hesitated to speak the truth according to God’s Word, and having caught the attention of the people, the Jews as well as the Gentiles from there, he carried on in his ministry in that place outside the Synagogue, amongst the Gentiles and the Jews, whoever cared to listen to him.

In the above-mentioned references, we see another important thing about Paul’s ministry: he made it a point to join the worship in the Synagogue on the Sabbath days. And that is what gave him an opening into the community to preach the gospel to them, at times even being invited to do so (Acts 13:14-15). So, even though Paul knew that sooner or later opposition and persecution will follow, and he will have to stop going to the Synagogue, but wherever he went, this never kept him from joining worship in God’s house on the Sabbath day, nor did he keep himself from preaching the truth of God’s Word and the gospel there. This should serve as an important lesson for all Believers, especially those who look for excuses to skip attending the Church or the Assembly. As we have seen in the first article on these implications, until the Believer is cast out of the church or Assembly, he should remain active and be attending there, no matter what he may have to face from there.

So, whether we look at the Lord Jesus’s life and example, or of His disciples, or of Paul, the Word of God shows us that whatever be the circumstances or possible problems, the followers of the Lord Jesus ought to make it a point to attend worship and other meetings in the house of God. For from there God will provide them opportunities to be useful for Him, spread the gospel, and be fruitful in their ministries. Instead of looking for ways to avoid going to the Church, as part of stewardship towards the Church, the Christian Believer's responsibility is to make sure that he always attends Church. In the Church he should not just be a silent spectator but make the most of his time there, and also actively contribute to the growth of the Church or the Assembly – we will start pondering over this from the next article.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

कलीसिया का भण्डारीपन -

व्यावहारिक निहितार्थ – 2 

परमेश्वर ने प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को अपनी कलीसिया का अंग बनाया है और उसे अपनी अन्य सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता में रखा है, और परमेश्वर ने उन्हें इन विशेषाधिकारों के लिए उसे उत्तरदायी भी बनाया है; अर्थात् मसीही विश्वासी उन्हें दिए गये विशेषाधिकारों के लिए परमेश्वर के भण्डारी हैं। भण्डारी होने की इस ज़िम्मेदारी का योग्य निर्वाह करने के लिए, विश्वासी को कलीसिया के बारे में मूल बातों को जानना चाहिए, जिन्हें हमने पिछले लेखों में मत्ती 16:18 से सीखा है। विश्वासियों को कलीसिया तथा परमेश्वर की अन्य सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता रखने से सम्बन्धित मूल बातों के व्यावहारिक निहितार्थों को, तथा उन्हें अपने जीवन में लागू करने के बारे में भी जानना चाहिए – हमने इस पक्ष को पिछले लेख से देखना आरम्भ किया है। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि जिस कलीसिया या मण्डली में परमेश्वर ने विश्वासी को रखा है, उसे उसी में बने रहना है; जैसे सुलैमान द्वारा बनवाए गये मन्दिर में प्रत्येक पत्थर का एक निर्धारित स्थान था, और वह पत्थर वहीं पर लाकर बैठाया जाता था। साथ ही किसी भी विश्वासी को कभी भी कलीसिया या मण्डली में दल या गुट बनाने, विभाजन करने जैसी किसी भी बात में कदापि सम्मिलित नहीं होना है। आज हम एक अन्य ज़िम्मेदारी के बारे में देखेंगे – अपनी सेवकाई के विषय कलीसिया के प्रति उत्तरदायी होना, उसके लिए परमेश्वर की महिमा करना, और सेवकाई के अपने अनुभवों को आनन्द के साथ कलीसिया के साथ बाँटना।

बाइबल हमें दिखाती है कि प्रत्येक विश्वासी, अपनी सेवकाई के लिए, जिस कलीसिया या मण्डली में प्रभु ने उसे रखा है, उस कलीसिया को उत्तरदायी है। यदि वह अपनी सेवकाई के लिए कलीसिया से प्रार्थनाओं की माँग करता है, तो उसे कलीसिया या मण्डली को उन प्रार्थनाओं और उनके उत्तरों के लिए धन्यवाद भी करना चाहिए, और साथ ही अपनी सेवकाई की गतिविधियों के बारे में उन्हें अवगत भी रखना चाहिए। हम इस बात को प्रेरित पौलुस के जीवन से बहुत अच्छे से चित्रित होते हुए देखते हैं। वह हमेशा ही, जब भी अपनी सेवकाई की यात्राओं से लौट कर आता था, तो कलीसिया और उसके लोगों को अपनी सेवकाई के बारे में बताता भी था (प्रेरितों 14:26-27; 15:12; 21:17-19)। जैसा कि हम इन हवालों से देखते हैं, यद्यपि वह सेवकाई पर परमेश्वर की बुलाहट से निकलता था, जहाँ परमेश्वर भेजता था वहीं जाता था, जिन लोगों को परमेश्वर उसके साथ जोड़ता था उन्हीं के साथ जाता था, और जो कुछ भी करने पाता था वह परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य से ही कर पाता था; लेकिन इस से उसमें न तो कोई घमण्ड आया और न ही उसने अपने आप को कलीसिया के अन्य लोगों से उच्च या बेहतर समझा। उसने उन लोगों से उसकी तथा उसकी सेवकाई के लिए प्रार्थना करने के लिए कहा था, और वह समझता था कि अब यह उसकी ज़िम्मेदारी थी कि उसे उन प्रार्थनाओं के जो उत्तर प्राप्त हुए, उनके बारे में कलीसिया के लोगों को बताए। इन तीन हवालों में हम पौलुस की वापस लौट कर कलीसिया को बताने से सम्बन्धित बात के साथ जुड़ी हुई कुछ अन्य महत्वपूर्ण बातें भी देखते हैं, जिन्हें पौलुस किया करता था:

प्रेरितों 14:26-27 से हम देखते हैं कि कलीसिया ने उस से रिपोर्ट नहीं माँगी थी। बल्कि पौलुस और उसके साथियों ने ही कलीसिया को एकत्रित कर के उन्हें अपनी रिपोर्ट दी, कि परमेश्वर ने कलीसिया की प्रार्थनाओं के उत्तर में क्या कुछ संभव किया था। पौलुस ने उत्तरदायी होने के पहले कदम को स्वयं ही उठाया, और अपनी ही पहल पर कलीसिया के सामने अपनी रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत की, रिपोर्ट माँगे जाने की प्रतीक्षा नहीं की।

प्रेरितों 15:12 से हम देखते हैं कि उन्होंने सारी सभा, अर्थात सम्पूर्ण कलीसिया या मण्डली के सामने अपनी रिपोर्ट दी, न कि कुछ चुने हुए लोगों के या केवल अगुवों के सामने – और उन्होंने कलीसिया को सब कुछ जो उनके द्वारा हुआ था वह सब बताया। साथ ही, जो कुछ वे करने पाए थे, उसके लिए उन्होंने सारा आदर और महिमा केवल परमेश्वर ही को दी – अर्थात, वे घमण्ड से फूल नहीं गए, और न ही परमेश्वर से उसकी महिमा को चुराया। यह ध्यान देने के लिए बहुत आवश्यक बात है, क्योंकि परमेश्वर के बहुत से सेवक इस बात में चूक जाते हैं। बहुधा, सेवकों में यह प्रवृत्ति देखी जाती है कि वे अपने कार्यों और उपलब्धियों को ऐसे प्रस्तुत करते हैं, मानों उन्होंने स्वयं, अपनी ही सामर्थ्य और योग्यता से ही सब कुछ किया हो, न कि ऐसे कि परमेश्वर ने उनमें होकर किया है। ऐसा कभी नहीं करना चाहिए (यशायाह 42:8; 48:11; मलाकी 3:8)।

हम प्रेरितों 21:17-19 से देखते हैं कि यरूशलेम के अगुवों के सामने भी पौलुस ने अपनी सेवकाई का एक विस्तृत वर्णन रखा, न कि औपचारिकता निभाने के लिए कुछ ही शब्दों में कह कर समाप्त कर दिया; और वहाँ पर भी उनमें होकर काम करने के लिए सारा आदर और महिमा परमेश्वर को ही दिया, न कि उन अगुवों के सामने अपने आप को महिमान्वित किया।

फिर, हम यह भी देखते हैं कि परमेश्वर ने पौलुस को यरूशलेम के अगुवों के पास भेजा कि वहाँ जा कर उन्हें अपने सुसमाचार के बारे में, जिसका वह प्रचार कर रहा था, बताए। यद्यपि यरूशलेम के अगुवों को उसकी सेवकाई में कोई कमी नहीं दिखाई दी, और न ही वे उसे कुछ और बेहतर करने का कोई सुझाव दे सके (गलातीयों 2:1-2, 6)। लेकिन फिर भी यह निष्फल सी प्रतीत होने वाली यात्रा करने से पौलुस विचलित बिल्कुल भी नहीं हुआ। परमेश्वर ने चाहा कि वह कुछ करे, और उसने परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में होकर उस काम को किया; उस बात के उद्देश्य और परिणाम के लिए कोई सवाल-जवाब नहीं किये। यह दीनता, जवाबदेही, औरों के साथ सेवकाई के बारे में पहल करके साझा करना और उन्हें उसके बारे में बताना, अपने जीवन और कार्यों के द्वारा स्वयं को नहीं बल्कि परमेश्वर ही को महिमा देना, उसे ही ऊँचे पर उठाना, आदि, जैसे पौलुस के जीवन के गुण थे, उसी प्रकार से प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के भी गुण होने चाहिए (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:1)।

अगले लेख में हम विश्वासी के अनिवार्यतः कलीसिया या मण्डली की सभाओं में सम्मिलित होने के बारे में देखेंगे, चाहे उसे वहाँ अनुचित व्यवहार तथा विपरीत परिस्थितियों का सामना ही क्यों न करना पड़े।

Church Stewardship - Practical Implications – 2

 

God has made every Born-Again Christian Believer a member of His Church, placed him fellowship with His other children; and He has also made the Believers accountable for these privileges entrusted to him; In other words, they are stewards for God for these privileges. To fulfill this stewardship worthily, the Believer must know the basics about the Church, which we have learnt from Matthew 16:18 in the previous articles. The Believers should also be aware of the practical implications of these basic facts about the Church and fellowshipping with the other children of God, and apply them in their lives – and we have started considering this aspect since the last article. In the last article we have seen about the necessity of the Believer remaining in the Church God where God has placed him in; just as at the time of the Temple being built Solomon had its assigned place, and it was fitted only at that place.  Also the Believer must never be involved in anything that would create factions or divisions in the Church, no matter what. Today we will see about another responsibility – being accountable to the Church for his ministry, glorifying God for them, and joyfully sharing his ministry experiences with the Church.

The Bible shows us that every Believer is accountable to the Church or Assembly where God has placed him, for his ministry. If he solicits the prayers of the Assembly for the ministry, then he also needs to thank the Church or Assembly for those prayers and the answers, and keep them informed about his missionary activities. We see this illustrated very well through the life of the Apostle Paul. He always, whenever he returned from his missionary journeys, gave an account of his missionary journeys to the Church and its people (Acts 14:26-27; 15:12; 21:17-19). As we see from these references, although he had gone out for the ministry on the call of God, to the places God had sent him, along with the people God had assigned to accompany him, and had accomplished things through God’s power; but that did not make him feel proud or superior to others in the Church. He had asked them to pray for him and his ministry, and he understood that it was his responsibility to let them know of the answers he had received for their prayers. In these three references we also see some other important aspects of this ‘reporting back’ that Paul used to do:

From Acts 14:26-27 we see that it was not the Church that had asked him for a report. Rather, they gathered the Church together to report to them, what God had accomplished through them and in answer to their support and prayers. Paul took the first step in showing this accountability, and on his own presented their report to their Church; he did not wait to be asked for the report to be presented.

From Acts 15:12 we see that they spoke to ‘the multitude’ i.e., the whole Church or Assembly, not to just a few or only to the Elders; they told the Church everything – all the works done through them. Moreover, they gave all glory and honor to God for whatever they could do – i.e., they did not get puffed up and rob God of His glory. This is something important to note, since many ministers of God slip up on this. Very often ministers of God have a tendency of presenting their work and accomplishments as if they had done them on their own, through their own ability and wisdom, and not because of God getting it done through them. This should never be done (Isaiah 42:8; 48:11; Malachi 3:8).

From Acts 21:17-19 we see that even to the Elders in Jerusalem, Paul gave a detailed report of his ministry, not just a perfunctory report of a few words, and again giving the glory and honor to God for working through them, instead of glorifying himself in front of those Elders.

Then, we also see that God sent him to report to the Elders in Jerusalem and inform them about the gospel he was preaching. Although the Elders in Jerusalem could not find anything amiss in him and his ministry, nor did they have any improvements to suggest (Galatians 2:1-2, 6). Yet this apparently inconsequential visit to Jerusalem did not perturb Paul in any way. God wanted him to do something, and he did it in obedience to God; he did not raise any questions about the purpose or results of what he was asked to do. This humility, accountability, willingness to take the initiative to share and inform, and the tendency to glorify and exalt God, not self, through one’s life and works should be an essential feature of every Believer’s life, just as it was in Paul’s life (1 Corinthians 11:1).

In the next article we will see about the necessity of the Believer regularly attending Church and fellowship, even despite unfavorable circumstances and being treated in a demeaning manner.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

कलीसिया का भण्डारीपन - व्यावहारिक निहितार्थ – 1 

 

प्रभु परमेश्वर ने प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को अपने आत्मिक परिवार, अपनी कलीसिया का सदस्य बनाया है तथा उसे अपनी अन्य सन्तानों की सहभागिता में रखा है (यूहन्ना 1:12-13)। हमने मत्ती 16:18 से देखा है कि बाइबल के अनुसार प्रभु यीशु मसीह की कलीसिया वास्तव में क्या है। वह कोई भवन नहीं है, न ही कोई डिनॉमिनेशन अथवा कोई संस्था है, वरन सारे सँसार के सभी उन बुलाए हुए लोगों का समूह है जिन्होंने अपने पापों से पश्चाताप किया है, प्रभु यीशु को अपना व्यक्तिगत प्रभु और स्वयं तथा जगत का एकमात्र उद्धारकर्ता मान कर उसे अपना जीवन समर्पित किया है; साथ ही उसके अनुयायी बनकर जीने, उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में रहने, और सँसार तथा मानवजाति के लिए उसके उद्देश्यों की पूर्ति में प्रयासरत रहने का निर्णय किया है। हमने यह भी देखा था कि किस तरह से बाइबल में कलीसिया के लिए उपयोग किए गए विभिन्न रूपक हमें उसके विभिन्न पक्षों को दिखाते हैं, और यह भी देखा है कि क्यों प्रभु यीशु स्वयं ही अपनी कलीसिया को बना रहा है, उसने इस कार्य को किसी और को नहीं सौंपा है। आज से हम परमेश्वर की कलीसिया का भण्डारी होने के नाते, कलीसिया के प्रति विश्वासी की जिम्मेदारियों को देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि केवल वे ही लोग जो परमेश्वर की बुलाहट के प्रति बाइबल से सुसंगत उचित प्रतिक्रिया देते हैं (इब्रानियों 4:2-3), परमेश्वर उन्हें ही अपनी कलीसिया से जोड़ता है, और अपनी कलीसिया के अंग बनाता है। कोई भी मनुष्य, या डिनॉमिनेशन, या संस्था, कभी भी, किसी भी रीति से, किसी को भी परमेश्वर की कलीसिया का सदस्य नहीं बना सकती है। लोग औरों को कुछ रीतियों और परंपराओं के निर्वाह के द्वारा उनकी अपनी कलीसिया, डिनॉमिनेशन, या संस्था का सदस्य तो बना सकते हैं, और बनाते भी हैं; किन्तु इस से परमेश्वर कदापि बाध्य नहीं होता है कि वह उन्हें अपनी कलीसिया का भी अंग बना ले – ऐसा केवल परमेश्वर द्वारा स्थापित मानकों के आधार पर ही हो सकता है, और केवल उस ही के द्वारा किया जा सकता है। इस तथ्य में दो महत्वपूर्ण बातें निहित हैं:

पहली, क्योंकि कोई भी मनुष्य किसी को भी परमेश्वर की कलीसिया में जोड़ नहीं सकता है, इसलिए कोई भी मनुष्य किसी को भी परमेश्वर की कलीसिया से बाहर नहीं निकाल सकता है। साथ ही, क्योंकि परमेश्वर के द्वारा दिया गया उद्धार हमेशा के लिए है, वह न तो कभी वापस लिया जाता है, और न कभी पलटा या खोया जा सकता है, और परमेश्वर केवल वास्तव में नया-जन्म अर्थात् सच में उद्धार पाए हुए लोगों को ही अपनी कलीसिया का अंग बनाता है, इसलिए उद्धार पा लेने के बाद परमेश्वर की कलीसिया का अंग होना भी न तो पलटा जा सकता है, और न ही वापस लिया जा सकता है, न उससे इनकार किया जा सकता है। हम इसके बारे में कुछ और विवरण बाद में, कलीसिया के अनुशासन के बारे में देखते समय देखेंगे।

दूसरी, क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने ही विश्वासियों को बुलाया और एक स्थानीय कलीसिया या मण्डली में रखा है, इसलिए, जब तक कि प्रभु ही उन्हें कलीसिया या मण्डली बदलने के लिए न कहे, किसी भी विश्वासी को उस कलीसिया या मण्डली को छोड़ कर कदापि नहीं जाना चाहिए, जिस के साथ परमेश्वर ने उसे जोड़ा है, उस कलीसिया या मण्डली से किसी भी बात के कारण असन्तुष्ट या अपमानित अनुभव करने के कारण तो कभी भी नहीं। परमेश्वर ने यह कभी नहीं कहा है कि वह विश्वासियों को कलीसियाओं या मण्डलियों में उन्हें अन्य सदस्यों से आदर, महिमा, और उच्च स्तर दिलवाने के लिए रख रहा है। वह उन्हें वहाँ परमेश्वर की योजनाओं और उद्देश्यों की पूर्ति के लिये रखता है - चाहे वह उस विश्वासी को उन योजनाओं और उद्देश्यों के बारे में बताए या न बताए। यदि कोई परिवर्तन होना है, तो परमेश्वर ही विश्वासी को उस नये स्थान पर लेकर जाएगा; और विश्वासी को इसके बारे में परमेश्वर की अगुवाई की प्रतीक्षा करनी चाहिये।  

इन दोनों बातों का निहितार्थ है कि क्योंकि कोई भी मनुष्य किसी विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के कलीसिया से निकाल नहीं सकता है, और क्योंकि विश्वासी को जिस कलीसिया के साथ परमेश्वर ने जोड़ा है, स्वयं ही उसे उसको बदलना नहीं है, जब तक कि परमेश्वर ही उसे ऐसा करने के लिए न कहे, इसलिए किसी भी मसीही विश्वासी को कभी भी, कैसे भी, परमेश्वर की कलीसिया को विभाजित करने, उसमें दल या गुट बनाने का किसी भी प्रकार का कोई भी कार्य नहीं करना चाहिए। सम्पूर्ण नए नियम में न तो ऐसा कोई उदाहरण है, और न ही कोई लेख है कि किसी मसीही विश्वासी ने किसी भी कारण से कलीसिया को बदला हो या कलीसिया अथवा मण्डली में कोई विभाजन किया हो। यद्यपि इस बात के तो लेख और उदाहरण हैं कि लोगों ने कलीसिया या मण्डली में दल या गुट बनाने के प्रयास किए, किन्तु उन्हें कभी प्रोत्साहित नहीं किया गया, बल्कि हमेशा उनकी तीव्र भर्त्सना ही की गई, और निर्देश दिए गए कि वे उन दलों या गुटों का अन्त करें और कलीसिया की एकता को फिर से स्थापित करें। जैसा हमने कलीसिया के रूपकों में देखा है, कलीसिया प्रभु की देह और दुल्हन होने के नाते, कभी भी टुकड़ों में विभाजित नहीं की जा सकती है; ऐसा करने का प्रयास करना प्रभु यीशु को ही दुःख और हानि पहुँचाने के समान है।

जैसा की हमने कलीसिया के निर्माण के बारे में विचार करते हुए, सुलैमान द्वारा बनवाए गए मन्दिर के उदाहरण से देखा था, मन्दिर के प्रत्येक पत्थर का एक पूर्व-निर्धारित स्थान था। उस पत्थर को काटने, तराशने और तैयार करने के बाद, मन्दिर के स्थान पर लाया जाता था और उसके निर्धारित स्थान पर बैठा दिया जाता था। कोई भी पत्थर कभी भी अपना स्थान नहीं चुनता था; परमेश्वर ने उसके स्थान को निर्धारित किया, उसके अनुसार उसे तैयार किया, और उसे उसके स्थान पर बैठा दिया। परमेश्वर ने प्रत्येक विश्वासी को एक विशेष कलीसिया अथवा मण्डली में एक उद्देश्य के अंतर्गत रखा है, चाहे वह उद्देश्य उस विश्वासी पर प्रकट हो अथवा नहीं। जहाँ पर उसने उस विश्वासी को रखा है, उस स्थान और वहाँ के लोगों के बारे में परमेश्वर पहले से ही सब कुछ जानता है; उन की सकारात्मक और नकारात्मक बातें, वहाँ के लोगों की मानसिकता, वहाँ पर वे किन बातों का आनंद लेंगे, क्या पसन्द करेंगे, क्या नापसन्द करेंगे, और वहाँ पर उन्हें क्या कुछ सहना पड़ेगा, किन अनुभवों में से होकर निकालना पड़ेगा, उस कलीसिया या मण्डली के अगुवों के हाथों भी और सदस्यों के हाथों भी। चाहे उनकी अवहेलना भी की जाए, निरादर किया जाए, मसीही विश्वासी को जहाँ परमेश्वर ने उन्हें रखा है, उस स्थान को नहीं छोड़ना है। उनका शान्ति के साथ अवहेलना को सहना, या अगुवों अथवा सदस्यों से दुःख उठाना, अपमानित होना, सभी बातें चुपचाप उनके परमेश्वर के प्रति समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी होने की, उसका आज्ञाकारी होने की, उनकी बुलाहट के प्रति उनके प्रतिबद्ध और निष्ठावान होने की गवाही देती हैं, उनके विश्वास की परिपक्वता को दिखती हैं। जब वे अपने आप को एक किनारे या अपमानित किया गया अनुभव करते हैं, तब सबसे उचित बात है कि शान्त बने रहें और परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें उसके उचित समय पर ऊँचे पर उठाए जाने की प्रतीक्षा करें (याकूब 4:6; 1 पतरस 5:5-6), जैसे उसने यूसुफ को उठाया था। याद रखिए कि परमेश्वर ही ऊँचे पर उठाता है, अपने समय में, और अपनी विधि द्वारा, जैसे उसने तय की है। कलीसिया या मण्डली में पहचान न होना, आदर न मिलना, कभी भी छोड़ने के कारण नहीं होने चाहिएं, और किसी अन्य सदस्य को कलीसिया से तोड़ कर अपने साथ उसे भी अलग कर देने के तो बिल्कुल भी नहीं। ऐसी किसी भी गतिविधि में सम्मिलित होना केवल विश्वासी और उसकी आशीषों की ही हानि करेगा – पार्थिव की भी तथा स्वर्गीय की भी।

     हम अगले लेख में भी कलीसिया में विश्वासियों की जिम्मेदारियों और व्यवहार के बारे में देखना ज़ारी रखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Lord God has made every Born-Again Christian Believer a member of His Spiritual Family, His Church and placed him in fellowship with His other children (John 1:12-13). We have seen, Biblically from Matthew 16:18, what the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ actually is. It is not any building, nor any denomination or organization, but the universally called out group of people who have repented of their sins, submitted themselves to the Lord Jesus accepting Him as their personal Lord and their own as well as the one and only Savior of the universe; and have decided to follow Him, obey Him, strive to fulfill His purposes for this world and mankind. We also saw how the various metaphors for the Church used in the Bible show its various aspects, and why it is the Lord who is building His Church Himself, has not left this to anyone else. From today, we will start considering the Believer's responsibilities towards God’s Church, as stewards of this God given privilege.

We have seen earlier that only those who give an appropriate response to God’s calling, the one that is consistent with the Bible (Hebrews 4:2-3), God joins only them to His Church and makes them a part of His Church. No man, or denomination, or organization can ever, through any means, make anyone a member of God’s Church. People can, and do make others members of their own churches, denominations, and organizations, through some rituals and practices; but this does not in any way compel God to accept them as members of His Church as well – which can only be done on the basis of His established criteria and only by Him alone. Inherent in this fact are two very important implications:

Firstly, since no man can join anyone to God’s Church, therefore, no man can cast anyone out from God’s Church either. Moreover, since God’s salvation is eternal, is never revoked nor lost, and God makes only the truly Born-Again or actually saved the members of His Church and family, therefore after salvation being a part of God’s Church is also irrevocable, can never be lost, or denied, or taken away; we will see some more details about this later, while considering Church discipline.

Secondly, since it is God who has called and placed the Believers in a particular local Assembly, therefore, unless it is the Lord who asks them to change the Assembly, the Believers should not leave or go away from the Church or Assembly where God has put them; not in the least because of feeling dishonored or dissatisfied in that Assembly or Church for any reason. God has never said that He is placing the Believers in particular Assemblies so that they may receive honor, glorification and exaltation, from the other members. He places them there to fulfil God’s plans and purposes - whether or not He tells the Believer about those plans and purposes. If there has to be a change, then God will lead the Believer to the new place; and the Believer must wait to receive God’s guidance about it.

The inherent implication in these two points is, that since the Believers cannot be removed from God’s Church by any man, and since the Believer is not to change His God assigned Church or Assembly for any reason, other than God instructing him to do so, therefore, no Christian Believer is to try to break up or divide God’s Church, encourage factionalism and divisions in the Church where God has placed him, in any manner or for any reasons, by any means. Throughout the New Testament, there is no record, no example of any Christian Believer ever changing their Assembly, or of causing a breaking up in an Assembly. Despite there being records of factionalism in assemblies, which were never encouraged, were always severely denounced, and instructions were given to break up the factions and restore unity in the Church. As we have seen through the metaphors, the Church being the body and the bride of Christ, it cannot be broken up into bits and pieces; trying to do so is hurting and harming the Lord Jesus.

As we had seen while considering the construction of the Church through the example of the construction of Solomon’s Temple, every stone of the Temple had its pre-assigned place. It was cut, prepared, and brought to the Temple site and fitted in its place. No stone ever chose its place; God assigned, prepared and placed it where it was meant to be. God has put every Believer in a particular Church or Assembly for a purpose, whether or not the purpose is apparent to him. God knows beforehand all the things about the place where He has put him, it's positive and negative things, it's people and their mentality; and the things that they will enjoy, like, dislike, and will have to suffer and go through in that Church or Assembly, and in it's congregation. Even if they have to suffer being ignored, and undergo humiliation, the Christian Believers are not to leave the place God has placed them in. Even their silently putting up with being ignored, or their suffering hurtful things and insults from the Elders and/or the congregation, everything serves to silently witness to their commitment and obedience to God, their trust in Him, their commitment and their sincerity towards their calling, demonstrating the maturity of their faith. During the times they feel being side-lined or humiliated, the best course of action is to stay silent and wait for the Lord to exalt them in due time (James 4:6, 10; 1 Peter 5:5-6), as He exalted Joseph. Remember, it is the Lord who exalts, in His time, and in the manner He decides about it. Lack of recognition and respect should never be the reasons to break away or leave the Church, far less, to break off the other members as well, to go with the outgoing member. Indulging in any such activity will only harm the Believer and his blessings – temporal as well as eternal.
