परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 22

 

पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि शैतान बहुत परिश्रम करता रहता है कि किसी न किसी रीति से परमेश्वर के वचन से छेड़-छाड़ हो, उसमें फेर-बदल किया जाए, उसे बिगाड़ा जाए। हमने न केवल उन युक्तियों को देखा है जिनके द्वारा शैतान यह करवाता है, वरन हमने एक बहुत अनपेक्षित, अविश्वसनीय, और सामान्यतः ऐसी जिस पर विचार भी नहीं जाता है बात को भी देखा है, जिसके द्वारा शैतान इस कार्य को करवाता है। यह बात है वे लोग जिनके द्वारा शैतान अपनी इन योजनाओं को कार्यान्वित करवाता है – बहुत अनपेक्षित रीति से, शैतान कलीसिया के अगुवों, प्रमुख लोगों, प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों, आदि के द्वारा, अर्थात्  ऐसे लोगों के द्वारा जिनके लिए उनका शैतान के हाथों का खिलौना होने के बारे में सोचा भी नहीं जाता है, अधिकांशतः उन्हें ही अपनी दुष्ट योजनाओं के निर्वाह के लिए उपयोग करता है, चाहे बहुधा अनजाने में ही वे शैतान के युक्तियों में फँस जाते हैं। आज से हम देखना आरंभ करेंगे कि शैतान ऐसा क्यों करवाना चाहता है, इस से उसे क्या लाभ होते हैं, और साथ ही कुछ अन्य संबंधित बातों को भी देखेंगे।

हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर का वचन ही हमें शैतान की कुटिल युक्तियों का सामना करने और उन पर विजयी होने की सामर्थ्य प्रदान करता है (भजन 37:31; भजन 119:9, 11; प्रकाशितवाक्य 3:10)। इसीलिए बाइबल में यह निर्देश दोहराया गया है, कि परमेश्वर के वचन में न तो कुछ जोड़ें, और न उसमें से कुछ घटाएं (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19)। बाइबल यह भी सिखाती है कि लोगों को बदलने वाला कोई मनुष्य या उसकी बुद्धि और ज्ञान, उसके तर्क, या उसका वाक्पटुता के साथ प्रचार करना नहीं, बल्कि परमेश्वर का वचन ही है (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:13)। परमेश्वर का वचन ही लोगों को नया जन्म पाने की ओर लेकर आता है (1 पतरस 1:23)। इसीलिए, अपने स्वर्गारोहण से ठीक पहले, प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों से ज़ोर देकर कहा था कि जब वो सुसमाचार प्रचार करने और शिष्य बनाने के लिए जाएँगे, तो जो लोग प्रभु को स्वीकार करेंगे और उस पर विश्वास लाएँगे, शिष्यों को उन्हें “सब बातें जो मैं ने तुम्हें आज्ञा दी है, मानना सिखाओ” (मत्ती 28:20), अर्थात् प्रभु का वचन सिखाना है। प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों को यहाँ यह अनुमति अथवा स्वतंत्रता नहीं दी कि वे प्रभु की बातों के बारे में अपने स्वयं की व्याख्या अथवा समझ को सिखाएँ; परन्तु औरों को केवल वही सिखाएँ जो प्रभु ने उन्हें सिखाया था।

और अपने शिष्यों को अपने वचन को स्मरण दिलाने तथा सिखाने के लिए प्रभु ने अपना पवित्र आत्मा भी उन्हें सहायक के रूप में दिया (यूहन्ना 14:16, 26)। यदि प्रभु के शिष्य अपनी ही बुद्धि, समझ, और व्याख्या के अनुसार प्रभु की बातें औरों को सिखाने के लिए स्वतंत्र होते, तो फिर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा उन्हें केवल प्रभु के ही वचन को स्मरण करवाए तथा सिखाए जाने की क्या आवश्यकता होती? मसीही विश्वासी के आत्मिक हथियारों में (इफिसियों 6:13-17), जिन्हें विश्वासियों को धारण किए रहना है, परमेश्वर के वचन को आत्मा की तलवार कहा गया है – वही वार करने का हमारा एकमात्र हथियार है। यह इसलिए क्योंकि केवल वही है जो मनुष्य के अन्दर गहराई से घुस पाता है कि उसके “जीव, और आत्मा को, और गांठ गांठ, और गूदे गूदे को अलग कर के, वार पार छेदता है; और मन की भावनाओं और विचारों को जांचता है” (इब्रानियों 4:12)। परमेश्वर का यह वचन इसलिए दिया गया है कि “तुझे मसीह पर विश्वास करने से उद्धार प्राप्त करने के लिये बुद्धिमान बना सकता है”, और “उपदेश, और समझाने, और सुधारने, और धर्म की शिक्षा के लिये” है, जिससे कि “परमेश्वर का जन सिद्ध बने, और हर एक भले काम के लिये तत्‍पर हो जाए” (2 तीमुथियुस 3:15-17)।

हम इसी वचन के द्वारा अपने उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु यीशु के बारे सीखते हैं। इस वचन से प्रभु के बारे में मिलने वाली जानकारी में होकर परमेश्वर ने हमें जीवन और भक्ति से संबंधित सभी बातें प्रदान की हैं, हम बहुमूल्य प्रतिज्ञाएँ दी हैं, ईश्वरीय स्वभाव का संभागी बनाने का मार्ग दिया है, और सँसार की भ्रष्टता से बच कर निकलने का मार्ग दिया है (2 पतरस 1:3-4)। जब यह वचन हमारे हृदयों में होता है तो हमें पाप करने से रोकता है (भजन 119:11), और हमारे पाँवों को फिसलने से बचाता है (भजन 37:31)। परमेश्वर का वचन ही हमारे पथ को प्रकाशित करता है और हमें सही मार्ग पर कहलाता है (भजन 119:105), और प्रभु हमें वचन के द्वारा ही धोता तथा शुद्ध करता है (इफिसियों 5:26)। हम बाइबल में बारम्बार यह देखते हैं कि हमेशा ही परमेश्वर का वचन ही सामर्थी और प्रभावकारी रहा है; न कि किसी मनुष्य द्वारा गढ़ी गई, आकर्षक, रोचक, तथा लुभावना बनाने के लिये, बाइबल की फेर-बदल की गई बातें और शिक्षाएँ। आने वाले लेखों में हम इसके बारे में थोड़ा और पौलुस के सुसमाचार प्रचार के शैली के द्वारा देखेंगे।

मार्टिन लूथर ने, जो मसीही सुधारवाद के जनक थे, जो रोमन कैथोलिक मत की गलत धारणाओं, परम्पराओं, और गलत मान्यताओं को, परमेश्वर के वचन के आधार पर चुनौती देने के लिए दृढ़ होकर खड़े हो गए थे, कहा था, “अपने सुधारवाद के आरम्भ से ही मैंने परमेश्वर से माँगा है कि मुझे न तो स्वप्न भेजे, और न ही दर्शन, या स्वर्गदूत, वरन मुझे अपने वचन, पवित्र शास्त्र की सही समझ दे; क्योंकि जब तक मेरे पास परमेश्वर का वचन है, मैं जानता हूँ कि मैं उसके मार्ग पर चल रहा हूँ और मैं किसी गलती अथवा भ्रम में नहीं पडूँगा।” परमेश्वर के एक अन्य महान सेवक, डी. एल. मूडी ने कहा था, “या तो बाइबल आप को पाप से दूर रखेगी, या फिर पाप आप को बाइबल से दूर रखेगा।” इसलिए इसमें कुछ अचरज की बात नहीं है कि शैतान अपना भरसक प्रयास करता है कि हमें परमेश्वर के सच्चे वचन से दूर रखे, और हमें उस खरे वचन को अपने जीवनों में तथा औरों के लाभ के लिए उपयोग न करने दे। परमेश्वर के वचन के भण्डारी होने के नाते, यह हमारा दायित्व है कि हम परमेश्वर के खरे वचन को पहचाने और थामे रहें।

इसके बारे में हम आने वाले लेखों में कुछ और देखेंगे।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 22

 

In the preceding articles, we have seen how Satan keeps striving to have God’s Word tampered, altered, and distorted. We have not only seen the various ploys Satan uses to get this done, but have also seen that there is a very unexpected, unbelievable, and generally unconsidered, but very major and significant factor that Satan uses to get this done. This factor is the people Satan uses to accomplish his designs – quite unexpectedly, Satan uses God’s committed Believers, Church leaders or elders, Bible preachers or teachers, etc. In other words, people we would least expect to be instrumental in Satan’s hands, are the ones usually, and very often quite inadvertently, used by him to implement his wicked purposes. We will now start considering why Satan wants to have this done, how it benefits him, and we will also see some other related matters about this, from today.

We have seen earlier that it is the Word of God that gives us the ability to counter and overcome the wiles of the devil (Psalm 37:31; Psalm 119:9, 11; Revelation 3:10). Hence an instruction repeated in different books of the Bible is to not to add or take away from God’s Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19). The Biblical also teaches that it is not any person nor any man’s wisdom, logic, and preaching with eloquence, but God’s Word that changes people (1 Thessalonians 2:13)। God’s Word leads people to be Born Again (1 Peter 1:23). Hence, in His Great Commission, just before His ascension, the Lord Jesus categorically instructed His disciples that when they go out to preach the gospel and make disciples, those who accept Him and come to faith in Him, to them the disciples should “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:20), i.e., the Lord’s Word. The Lord did not give His disciples the permission or the liberty to teach their interpretation and understanding of the Lord’s teachings; but only what He had taught them.

To help His disciples remember and learn His Word, the Lord also gave His Holy Spirit to them as their Helper (John 14:16, 26). If the disciples of the Lord were free to preach and teach Lord’s word according to their own understanding and interpretation, then where was the need of the Holy Spirit to help remind them and teach them only the Lord’s Words? In the Christian Believer’s spiritual armor, prescribed for us (Ephesians 6:13-17), God’s Word has been called the Sword of the Spirit – our one and only weapon of offense. This is because it alone has the ability to penetrate deeply into a person “piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). This Word of God has been given “to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”, and for “doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”, so that, “the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

It is through this Word that we learn about our savior, the Lord God Jesus Christ. In the knowledge of the Lord, that comes to us from the Word of God, God has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, has given us precious promises, the way of becoming partakers of divine nature, and the way of escaping from the corruption of this world (2 Peter 1:3-4). This Word, when it is in our hearts, it keeps us from sin (Psalm 119:11), and keeps our feet from slipping (Psalm 37:31). The Word of God enlightens our path and leads us on the right way (Psalm 119:105). We see over and over again in the Bible that it is always the pure Word of God, that is powerful and efficacious; and not its contrived, humanly modified or embellished version, to make it attractive and interesting. In the subsequent articles we will see some more about this from Paul’s style of gospel preaching.

Martin Luther, the Father of the Christian Reformation, the one who rose up to question and challenge the erroneous Roman Catholic dogmas and practices on the basis of God’s Word, said, “From the beginning of my reformation, I have asked God to send me neither dreams, nor visions, nor angels, but to give me the right understanding of His Word, the Holy Scriptures; For as long as I have God's Word, I know that I am walking in His way and that I shall not fall into error or delusion.” Another great servant of God, the famous evangelist D. L. Moody had said “Either the Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible.” Therefore, is it any wonder then that Satan tries his utmost to keep us from the true Word of God, and from using it effectively for our lives as well as for the benefit of others. As stewards of God’s Word, it is our responsibility to discern the pure unadulterated Word of God and hold on to it.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 21

 

पिछले लेखों में हमने उन दो मुख्य कारणों को देखा था जिनके द्वारा शैतान परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करने पाता है, और फिर उस बिगाड़े तथा भ्रष्ट किए हुए वचन के प्रसार और प्रयोग के द्वारा परमेश्वर के लोगों को सरलता से बहका और भरमा लेता है। इन दो में से पहला कारण है अधिकांश मसीहियों या ईसाइयों का परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति उदासीन होना, उसे स्वयं अध्ययन नहीं करना। जबकि परमेश्वर की यह स्पष्ट चेतावनी है कि उसके वचन के प्रति उदासीनता, उसके लोगों के लिये बहुत हानिकारक होगी (यशायाह 5:13; होशे 4:6), और वचन के प्रति प्रेम उनके लिये बहुत आशीषपूर्ण होगा (यूहन्ना 14:21, 23); और ये निर्देश केवल याजकों के लिये नहीं, बल्कि परमेश्वर के सभी लोगों के लिये दिये गये थे। और परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति अपनी इस लापरवाही के समाधान के प्रयास में, लोग प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों द्वारा कही गई बातों को बिना जाँचे-परखे, बिना उनकी पुष्टि करे, स्वीकार कर लेते हैं; जो उन्हें प्रेरितों 17:11, 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29, और 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21 की अनाज्ञाकारिता करने का दोषी बना देता है।

 

दूसरा कारण है, कलीसिया के अगुवों, प्रमुख लोगों, प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों में, जैसे-जैसे उनकी ख्याति और स्तर बढ़ता जाता है, उनकी सेवकाई को लेकर उन में अपनी लोकप्रियता और ज्ञान को लेकर एक छुपा हुआ घमण्ड आ जाना। उनमें चुपके से आए हुए इस अप्रत्यक्ष घमण्ड को और अधिक बढ़ावा उनके उन अनुयाइयों से मिलता है जो उनमें अन्ध-विश्वास करने लगते हैं, उनकी भक्ति करने लगते हैं। ये अन्ध-विश्वास करने वाले, यह मान ही नहीं सकते हैं कि उनके पसंदीदा अगुवे और प्रचारक कुछ गलत कह या प्रचार कर सकते हैं या कैसी भी कोई गलती कर सकते हैं; इसी लिये वे न केवल उनकी कही हुई बातों को परमेश्वर के वचन से जाँचे-परखे बिना ही न केवल स्वयं स्वीकार कर लेते हैं, बल्कि उन बातों को, अकाट्य सत्य के समान मानने और पालने करने के लिये, औरों को भी बताने लगाते हैं। इससे वे अन्ध-विश्वास करने वाले, न केवल स्वीकार और पालन करने से पहले शिक्षाओं को वचन से जाँचने-परखने के परमेश्वर के निर्देश की अनाज्ञाकारिता करने के दोषी हो जाते हैं, वरन् अनजाने में ही वे परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करने के सहभागी होने के भी दोषी ठहरते हैं। और साथ ही ये लोग, नये, अपरिपक्व, और भोले विश्वासियों के लिये ठोकर का कारण भी बन जाते हैं, जो उनपर प्रभु यीशु द्वारा मत्ती 18:6 और मरकुस 9:42 में दी गई चेतावनी को स्वयं पर लागू करने का भी दोषी बना देता है।

 

बाइबल में दो बातें दी गईं हैं, जो इस बात का निश्चित प्रमाण हैं कि परमेश्वर के धर्मी अगुवों, प्रमुख लोगों, प्रचारकों, और शिक्षकों आदि में ये गलतियाँ घुस आई हैं। पहली बात है उनके द्वारा बाइबल के शब्दों, लेखों, वाक्यांशों, आदि को उन अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ स्वयं भी उपयोग करना तथा औरों को भी करना सिखाना, जैसे बाइबल में उन लेखों के लिये कभी किया ही नहीं गया है। और दूसरी बात है उन अगुवों के द्वारा कलीसिया या मण्डली में न केवल व्यक्तित्व पर आधारित विभाजनों को स्वीकार करना, वरन उन्हें करवाना, उन्हें बनाए रखना, और उन्हें बढ़ावा भी देना। इस प्रकार की गुट-बाज़ी सामान्यतः व्यक्तिगत अहम और स्वयं को बहार या बड़ा दिखाने के कारण होती है जैसा 1 कुरिन्थियों 1:11-13; 3:3-4; 11:18-19 में बताया गया है। क्योंकि कलीसिया या मण्डली के लोग, अपने किसी एक पसंदीदा अगुवे या प्रचारक को किसी अन्य से बढ़कर आदर देने लगते हैं, उसके साथ जुड़ने लगते हैं, उसका अनुसरण करने लगते हैं, इसलिए अगुवों और प्रचारकों में अहम का टकराव और मतभेद उत्पन्न होने लगते हैं। फिर ये टकराव और मतभेद कलीसिया या मण्डली के लोगों में पहुँचा दिए जाते हैं, तथा लोगों से कहा जाता है कि उन अगुवों में से किसी एक को चुनकर उसके तथा उसके गुट के लोगों के साथ रहें। यह एक बहुत ही दुर्भाग्य पूर्ण तथा बाइबल के विरुद्ध बात है कि बजाए अपने मध्य के मतभेदों का समाधान करने और कलीसिया के लोगों में एकता बनाए रखने के, कलीसिया के ही अगुवे और प्रचारक न केवल विभाजन और बांटने वाली दीवारें खड़ी करते हैं, बल्कि ढिठाई से उन दीवारों को बना कर भी रखते हैं। और यह सब उनके द्वारा सुसमाचार का प्रचार करने प्रेम, और, सहनशीलता, क्षमा, और एक-मनता, आदि, सिखाने के साथ होता है।

प्रेरित पौलुस ने पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में इन दोनों बातों, अर्थात् , वचन में फेर-बदल करना तथा एक से बढ़कर दूसरे को देखना, का उल्लेख 1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6 किया है “हे भाइयों, मैं ने इन बातों में तुम्हारे लिये अपनी और अपुल्लोस की चर्चा, दृष्टान्त की रीति पर की है, इसलिये कि तुम हमारे द्वारा यह सीखो, कि लिखे हुए से आगे न बढ़ना, और एक के पक्ष में और दूसरे के विरोध में गर्व न करना।” जैसा पौलुस ने इससे थोड़ा सा पहले (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:3-6) में किया था, वैसे ही यहाँ पर भी वह एक बार फिर से अपने आप को तथा अपुल्लोस को उदाहरण बनाने के द्वारा समस्या को, उसके कारण को, और उसके समाधान को बताता है। वह बहुत स्पष्ट और दृढ़ता से कहता है कि वे दोनों, पौलुस और अपुल्लोस, इस बात में सचेत और दृढ़ रहे कि वचन में जो लिखा है, उससे आगे न बढ़ें; अर्थात् , उन्होंने कभी भी, किसी भी रीति परमेश्वर के वचन के लेख, उसके अर्थ, अथवा उसके अभिप्राय में कुछ भी फेर-बदल नहीं की। क्योंकि वे परमेश्वर के वचन की इस शुद्धता और पवित्रता को बनाए रखने के प्रति सचेत और दृढ़-निश्चय थे, इसीलिए, वे इस बात को कलीसिया को भी सिखा सके। और इसीलिए, वे यह भी दिखा सके कि लिखित वचन की सीमाओं में बने रहने के द्वारा, मण्डली मनुष्यों में घमण्ड करने, एक मनुष्य को दूसरे से बढ़कर समझने की गलती से बची रहेगी, जिस के कारण कलीसिया में विभाजन और गुट-बाज़ी होती है।

ये दो बातें, अर्थात्, वचन में फेर-बदल करना तथा एक अगुवे को स्वयं दूसरे से बढ़कर को देखना या समझना, ही वे दो संकेत हैं जो यह पहचान करवाते हैं कि कोई अगुवा या प्रचारक शैतान की युक्तियों में फँस गया है। इस गलती से बचने का परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया समाधान है 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:1 – किसी भी मनुष्य का नहीं, बल्कि केवल मसीह यीशु का ही अनुसरण करो, ठीक उसी तरह से जैसे पौलुस करता था। इसलिए मसीही विश्वासियों, अर्थात्, परमेश्वर के वचन के भण्‍डारियों को, किसी भी अगुवे, प्रमुख जन, प्रचारक, या शिक्षक के स्तर और प्रतिष्ठा से प्रभावित होकर कार्य करने की बजाए, जो भी प्रचार किया और सिखाया जाता है, पहले वचन से उसकी जाँच-परख करनी चाहिए, और उसके बाद ही स्वीकार करना तथा पालन करना चाहिए। किसी भी मनुष्य का, उसके शब्दों, उसकी शैली, उसके हाव-भाव का आँख मूंद कर अनुसरण करना देर-सवेर गलतियों तथा समस्याओं में पड़ने और आशीषों की हानि उठाने का कारण ठहरेगा।

अगले लेख में हम देखेंगे कि शैतान इतने उद्यम से परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करवाने, उसे भ्रष्ट करने और परमेश्वर के लोगों को पथ-भ्रष्ट करने के प्रयास में क्यों लगा रहता है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 21

 

In the previous articles we have seen the two main reasons why Satan is able to alter God’s Word, then easily have the distorted and corrupted Word used and spread, to misguide God’s people. The first of these two reasons is the very common apathy amongst the vast majority of Christians to not study God’s Word for themselves. Whereas, God has clearly warned that neglecting His Word will be very harmful for them (Isaiah 5:13; Hosea 4:6), and loving His Word will be very blessed for them (John 14:21, 23); and these instructions were not only for the priests, but for all of God’s people. To try and make up for their neglect of learning God’s Word, people accept what preachers and teachers present to them, without cross-checking and verifying it; thereby they become guilty of disobeying Acts 17:11, 1 Corinthians 14:29, and 1 Thessalonians 5:21.

 

The second reason is the tendency of subtle arrogance that creeps into the leaders and Elders, the preachers and teachers about their ministry and knowledge as they grow in popularity and stature. This subtle arrogance is further encouraged, because of their followers, who not only have a blind-faith in them, but also begin idolizing them. These blind-faith followers just cannot think or accept that those leaders and preachers can say anything wrong or make any mistakes; therefore, without first cross-checking from God’s Word, they not only believe whatever their favorite leaders preach and teach, but also pass it on to others, as an irrefutable truth to be followed. This not only makes these followers with a blind-faith guilty of disobeying God’s instructions to first verify from the Word before accepting and believing, but also inadvertent accomplices in altering God’s Word. And they also become stumbling blocks for new, immature, and gullible Believers, inviting upon themselves Lord Jesus’s admonition of Matthew 18:6 and Mark 9:42.

 

In the Bible two definite indicators have been given that indicate that these errors have crept into God’s committed Believers, Church leaders or elders, Bible preachers or teachers, etc. The first one is their using, as well as teaching others also, to use Biblical words, phrases, texts etc. in ways, with meanings and implications that have never been stated, or used, or implied in the Bible about those texts. And, the second is that such leaders not only tolerate, but also allow the creating, maintaining, and encouraging of personality-based factionalism in the Churches and Assemblies. The groupism is usually because these committed Believers, Church leaders or elders, Bible preachers or teachers, etc., either allow, or are even instrumental in creating and maintaining factions and divisions within the Church or Assemblies. The reasons for this factionalism are mainly personal ego and the tendency for one-upmanship, as has been given in 1 Corinthians 1:11-13; 3:3-4; 11:18-19. Because the people of the congregation start associating with, honoring, or following one favorite elder or preacher over another, it leads to egoistic personality clashes, and contentions amongst the elders and preachers. These differences and contentions are then passed on to the congregation, and the people of the congregation are asked to side either with one or the other of these leaders and others in their group. It is so unfortunate and unBiblical that instead of ironing out their differences, and encouraging unity in the Church congregation, the elders and preachers not only create divisions and walls of separation in the Churches or Assemblies, but even stubbornly maintain these walls of separation. And, all of this happens along with their preaching and teaching the gospel, and about love, forbearance, forgiveness, and being one-minded etc.

The apostle Paul, through the Holy Spirit, pointed out these two factors, i.e., altering to God’s Word and placing one leader over another, and decreed against them in 1 Corinthians 4:6 [NIV] “Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.” Here Paul, as he had done a little earlier (1 Corinthians 3:3-6), once again sets forth himself and Apollos as examples, and states the problem, its cause, and its solution. He categorically says that they both, Paul and Apollos, made it a point not to go beyond what had already been written in the Scriptures; i.e., they never, in any manner, neither altered the text nor its meaning, nor implied anything beyond what already had been written and given in God’s Word. Because they were particular and committed about maintaining this sanctity of God’s Word, therefore they could teach the same to the Church. And therefore, they could also point out that by staying within the limits of the written Word, the congregation will be able to avoid the trap of taking pride in men, putting one man over another, which leads to factions and divisions in the Church.

    These two things, i.e., altering to God’s Word and one leader thinking himself over or better than another, are the two points which help in discerning that the elder or preacher has fallen prey to Satan’s ploy. The God given solution for this error is 1 Corinthians 11:1 – emulate Christ Jesus, and not any man, in just the same way as Paul used to do. Therefore, Christian Believers, the stewards of God’s Word, instead of getting carried away by the popularity and stature of a leader or elder, or preacher, should make it a point to always cross-check and confirm the messages i.e., whatever is preached and taught to them, from God’s Word and only then accept and obey it. Blindly following any man, his words, style, and his mannerisms, will sooner or later result in getting involved in errors, falling into problems, and suffering a loss of blessings.

In the next article we will see why Satan so desperately tries to alter and corrupt God’s Word, why he has been striving so hard through all these and other ploys to corrupt God’s Word and misguide people.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम प्रत्येक वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाये हुए मसीही विश्वासी के, परमेश्वर की संतान के रूप में (यूहन्ना 1:12-13), परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल का भण्डारी होने पर विचार कर रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट करने और बिगाड़ने के शैतानी प्रयास पुराने नियम के समय से ही चले आ रहे हैं, जैसा कि प्रभु यीशु ने यशायाह से उद्धरण देते हुए फरीसियों और शास्त्रियों से कहा था (मत्ती 15:7-9); और इसी खण्ड से, तथा बाइबल के कुछ अन्य अंशों और प्रमाणों से हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट करने और बिगाड़ने के लिए, शैतान ने मुख्य रूप से धार्मिक अगुवों तथा परमेश्वर के वचन के शिक्षकों और प्रचारकों को ही उपयोग किया है। शैतान अपनी इस युक्ति को बहुत चतुराई से और लगभग हमेशा ही, इन बुद्धिमान और विद्वान लोगों द्वारा पवित्रशास्त्र के लेखों की उनकी अपनी "ज्ञानपूर्ण" व्याख्याओं, खुलासों, और शिक्षाओं के रूप में कार्यान्वित करता है। उन्हें यह एहसास भी नहीं हो पाता है कि अपने उद्देश्यों को पूरा करने के लिए, शैतान कैसे उनका दुरुपयोग कर रहा है; वह उनसे गलत व्याख्याओं, त्रुटिपूर्ण खुलासों, और पवित्रशास्त्र के सत्यों और तथ्यों से असंगत, उनकी मनगढ़ंत शिक्षाओं का प्रचार करवाता रहता है।

समस्या तब और गम्भीर हो जाती है जब इन प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों के नेक इरादे वाले, लेकिन उन पर अंध-विश्वास रखने वाले अनुयायी, इन गलत व्याख्याओं, त्रुटिपूर्ण खुलासों और पवित्रशास्त्र के सत्यों और तथ्यों से असंगत, उन लोगों की मनगढ़ंत शिक्षाओं को, बिना पहले जांचे और परखे दूसरों तक फैलाते हैं। इससे, अंध-विश्वास करने वाले ये अनुयायी, न केवल अनजाने में परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल करने में सहभागी बन जाते हैं, बल्कि किसी भी बात को स्वीकार करने से पहले हर बात की पुष्टि करने के परमेश्वर के निर्देश की अनाज्ञाकारिता करके, वे गलत और अनुचित शिक्षाओं को फैलाने के भी दोषी बन जाते हैं। इससे भी बुरा यह कि, उनका यह अंधानुकरण और त्रुटियों का प्रचार करना, उन्हें नए, अपरिपक्व, और भोले विश्वासियों के लिए ठोकर का कारण बनाता है; और उन्हें उन गंभीर परिणामों के लिए उत्तरदायी बनाता है जिनकी प्रभु यीशु ने मत्ती 18:6 और मरकुस 9:42 में चेतावनी दी थी।

उन्हें यह एहसास करना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर के मार्ग मनुष्य के मार्ग नहीं हैं (यशायाह 55:8-9); और परमेश्वर हमें भक्ति और श्रद्धा के उस ढोंग के आधार पर नहीं परखेंगे जो हम दिखाते हैं; जबकि हम जानबूझकर उस के वचन की गलत व्याख्या और दुरुपयोग कर रहे हैं, हठपूर्वक त्रुटि में जी रहे हैं, दूसरों को त्रुटि डालकर गुमराह कर रहे हैं, और परमेश्वर को कलंकित कर रहे हैं। बल्कि वह हमें हमारे हृदयों की कठोरता और हठ के आधार पर परखेगा; और यह धर्मियों के लिए भी उतना ही सत्य है (भजन संहिता 7:9; यिर्मयाह 11:20; 17:10; 20:12)। इसलिए परमेश्वर के वचन के साथ असंगत बातों पर अड़े रहने और उनका प्रचार करने के लिए वे चाहे जो भी स्पष्टीकरण या बहाना दें, वह भी इसके बारे में चेतावनी दिए जाने के बावजूद, परन्तु उन्हें हिसाब तो देना होगा; उन्हें इसकी कीमत तो चुकानी होगी।

Altering God’s Word - 20

 

Over the past few articles, we have been considering the stewardship of every truly Born-Again Christian Believer, as a child of God (John 1:12-13), towards God’s Word the Bible. We have seen that satanic attempts at corrupting and distorting God’s Word have been going on since Old Testament times, as the Lord Jesus pointed out to the Pharisees and Scribes in quoting from Isaiah (Matthew 15:7-9); and through this same passage, along with some other Biblical passages and evidences, we have seen that to implement corruption and distortion of God’s Word, Satan has mainly used the religious leaders and the teachers and preachers of God’s Word. Satan does this very slyly, nearly always as “knowledgeable” interpretations, expositions, and teachings of Scriptural texts by these wise and learned people; without their being aware of how he is misusing them to accomplish his purposes, through actually misinterpretations, incorrect expositions, and preaching contrived teachings inconsistent with the overall Scriptural truth and facts.

A very subtle and devious way that Satan gets this done is to have them use the correct Biblical texts, but give them meanings and implications that were never given or intended for those texts, when they were initially written. Thereby, Satan takes away their actual meaning and use, and uses them to add incorrect and unintended meanings and applications to that Biblically correct text. Thus, they inadvertently become guilty of disobeying Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6, and Revelation 22:18-19. The gullible members of the congregation, since they usually do not engage in any serious Bible study for themselves, generally rely on whatever is spoken from the pulpit, accepts whatever is preached and taught unquestioningly; and thus they become guilty of disobeying the instructions of Acts 17:11, 1 Corinthians 14:29, and 1 Thessalonians 5:21. 

The problem is compounded when the followers, though well-intentioned but having a blind-faith on these preachers and teachers, propagate these misinterpretations, incorrect expositions, and contrived teachings that are inconsistent with the overall Scriptural truth and facts, to others without first checking and verifying them. This not only makes these well-meaning followers having a blind-faith, the inadvertent accomplices of altering God’s Word, but also guilty of spreading error by being disobedient of God’s instruction to verify everything before accepting it. Even worse, their blind following and propagation of errors, makes them the stumbling blocks for the new, immature, and gullible believers; and makes them liable for the grave consequences the Lord Jesus warned of in Matthew 18:6 and Mark 9:42.

We have seen in these articles that God has given the privilege of an open and unhindered authority of freely accessing God at any time, for anything, to every child of God (Romans 5:1-2; Ephesians 2:18; 3:12). Also, the Lord Jesus has categorically stated that in coming to God in prayer, our words should not be vain repetitions but be few and to the point; and we should address God directly in a simple straightforward manner as “Our Father” (Matthew 6:7-9). Yet some people, deliberately and in stark disobedience to the Lord and His Word, repetitively use words and phrases like, ‘binding Satan,’ ‘applying the blood of Jesus,’ ‘covering themselves, or covering things under the blood of Jesus,’ ‘coming to God for prayer or worship through the blood of Jesus,’ and ‘applying the Cross of Jesus,’ etc. in opening and also in their prayers or worship. We have seen on the basis of Biblical facts, that their repetitively parroting these expressions is neither efficacious in any way, nor is it reverential. Rather, it insults God and attacks the very character and characteristics of God in many ways; and therefore, is actually satanic. Today we will be drawing some more conclusions about this subtle devious mismanagement of God’s Word.

Consider Job 35:13, and think it over. In light of this verse, and even otherwise, why should people assume that God is subordinate and obligated to them to not only listen to whatever they say, but also accept it, and then respond positively to everything they have said - whether what they said is true or false, whether foul or fair, whether logical or contrived, i.e., any and everything said to God using the aforementioned Biblical terms and phrases, God must accept - why? We need to remember that the Lord Jesus has cautioned us, that we will be accountable for every idle word that we speak (Matthew 12:36-37); and we will be judged not by some person’s words that were preached and taught to us, which we had blindly accepted; but by the Word already spoken by the Lord Jesus (John 12:49-49). 

In this context, there is another very prevalent vanity amongst those who use these vain words and phrases, used more for face-saving than anything else by them. Though these blind-faith followers, never diligently studied and verified from the Scriptures whether what is being said by their favorite preacher is true and acceptable, instead they readily accepted it, and started following and propagating it as an irrefutable fact. But now, when faced with the Scriptural evidence against their erroneous assumption and wrong decision, they keep dilly-dallying, to put aside the wrong and accept the right decision. They procrastinate on grounds of “praying about it,” “studying about it,” “pondering over it,” “verifying what has been said,” etc. How naive - they immediately and unquestioningly accepted a wrong teaching that was without a shred of Biblical evidence. But their accepting the error, despite ample Scriptural evidence being provided, remains unacceptable to them. They should ponder over and learn from Paul’s conversion on the road to Damascus not only did he immediately accept the one he was opposing as “Lord” and obeyed Him (Acts 9:5-6), but also immediately changed his stand a full 180° and started preaching the Lord Jesus (Acts 9:19-22). Later, in his letter to the Philippians, he calls the zeal, righteousness, and knowledge he was relying upon earlier, as “rubbish” (Philippians 3:8). Contrary to Paul, these blind followers would rather offend and insult God, than offend and insult their favorite preacher.

They should realize that God's ways are not man's ways (Isaiah 55:8-9); and God will not judge us by the pretense of piety and reverence that we put up, while deliberately misinterpreting and misusing His Word, obstinately living in error, misleading others into error, and denigrating God. But he will judge us by the hardness and obstinacy of our hearts; and this holds true for even the righteous (Psalm 7:9; Jeremiah 11:20; 17:10; 20:12). Therefore, no matter what explanation or excuse they offer, there will be an accounting, there will be a price to pay for adamantly persisting in that which is inconsistent with God's Word, and propagating it; that too despite having been warned about it. 

In the next article we will see the clearly spelled out Biblical indicators that can help us discern if a person has fallen for Satan’s ploys in being misguided and also misleading others.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
