कलीसिया का निर्माण – समीक्षा

 

कलीसिया का उद्देश्य 

इस से पिछले समीक्षा-लेख में हमने देखा था कि प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर की कलीसिया और परमेश्वर की सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता रखने के बारे में सीखना क्यों आवश्यक है। क्योंकि यह हमें परमेश्वर के द्वारा सौंपा गया भण्डारीपन है, और हमें योग्य रीति से इसका निर्वाह करना है, क्योंकि अन्ततः हमें इसका हिसाब उसे देना ही होगा। हम कलीसिया के बारे में मत्ती 16:18 से सीख रहे हैं, जहाँ पर शब्द “कलीसिया” बाइबल में पहली बार उपयोग किया गया है। हमने पिछले लेखों में, तथा समीक्षा लेख में भी देखा है कि प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी कलीसिया के किसी भी पक्ष को अपने अतिरिक्त किसी अन्य के हाथों में कदापि नहीं छोड़ा है। और यह इस बात का सूचक है कि कलीसिया उसके हृदय के कितने निकट है, उसके लिए कितनी महत्वपूर्ण है। यह तथ्य सर्वोच्च महत्व का है, और आज, कलीसिया के उद्देश्य के द्वारा हम देखेंगे कि ऐसा क्यों है। फिर इसके बाद के लेखों में, हमने जो कलीसिया के बारे में अब तक जो सीखा है, उसके व्यावहारिक निहितार्थों के द्वारा, हम सीखेंगे कि हमें कलीसिया में किस प्रकार रहना और व्यवहार करना चाहिए।

इस कलीसिया को बनाने का, हम मनुष्यों को अपने साथ इतनी बारीकी से जाँच-परख कर (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:13-15), जोड़ने के पीछे, प्रभु यीशु का क्या उद्देश्य है, क्या उपक्रम है? इसे समझने के लिए हमें सृष्टि के आरंभ के समय में, अदन की वाटिका में घटित हुई पहले पाप की घटना पर जाना पड़ेगा, जब शैतान ने हव्वा को बहका कर आदम और हव्वा से परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता करवाई। इससे पाप को सृष्टि में प्रवेश मिल गया, और पाप के दुष्प्रभावों ने सारी सृष्टि को बिगाड़ दिया (रोमियों 8:19-22)। इस दुखद घटना से पूर्व, मनुष्य निष्पाप दशा में परमेश्वर के साथ संगति और सहभागिता रखता था, जो पाप के कारण टूट गई। मनुष्य के साथ इसी संगति और सहभागिता को पुनः स्थापित करने, शैतान द्वारा मनुष्यों में बोए गए पाप के ‘बीज’ को निकाल बाहर करने, और मनुष्य को उसका वह आदर और स्थान (रोमियों 8:15-17; 1 कुरिन्थियों 6:2-3) बहाल करने के लिए जो परमेश्वर ने उसकी रचना करने के समय उसे दिया था (उत्पत्ति 1:28), प्रभु परमेश्वर अपने लोगों को उस बहाल की गई स्थिति में अपने साथ रहने के लिए एकत्रित कर रहा है (इफिसियों 5:25-27)। 

इसीलिए वह इतनी बारीकी से देखभाल कर, स्वयं ही इस पूरी प्रक्रिया को पूरा कर रहा है, जिससे फिर से विनाश फैलाने के लिये शैतान का कोई अंश भी उसमें न रह जाए। इसीलिए, वह हमारे चरित्र, व्यवहार, और परस्पर संगति में सँसार, मनुष्यों, और शैतान की बातों के किसी भी अंश और आदतों  को नहीं, वरन् केवल अपने और अपने वचन की बातों को देखना चाहता है। और, विश्वासी का केवल प्रभु और उसके वचन में, न कि किसी मनुष्य की गढ़ी हुई बातों में बने रहना (1 यूहन्ना 2:3-6); मनुष्यों को नहीं वरन केवल प्रभु ही को प्रसन्न करने का जीवन जीना (गलतियों 1:10), ही इस बात का प्रमाण है कि वह प्रभु द्वारा उसे बेदाग और बेझुर्री किए जाने का पालन, वास्तविकता में कर रहा है।

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो एक बार फिर आप से आग्रह है कि अभी समय रहते अपनी वास्तविक स्थिति को जाँच-समझ लें। किसी भी परिवार विशेष में जन्म लेने, किसी भी डिनॉमिनेशन के नियम, रीतियाँ, प्रथाएं, और त्यौहार-व्यवहार आदि का निर्वाह करने, अपने परिवार के लोगों के कितनी भी पीढ़ियों से मसीही या ईसाई होने या अभी वर्तमान में भी किसी मसीही सेवकाई में लगे होने, आदि बातों के द्वारा कोई भी प्रभु की कलीसिया का अंग नहीं बनता है। यह केवल व्यक्तिगत रीति से, समझते-बूझते हुए, अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करने और यीशु को प्रभु स्वीकार करके अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित कर देने, और फिर केवल उसी की आज्ञाकारिता में जीवन जीने से होता है (प्रेरितों 17:30-31; रोमियों 10:9-10)। यदि आप को अपने नया-जन्म पाए हुए होने के विषय जरा सा भी संदेह है, तो आपसे विनम्र निवेदन है कि अभी इस कार्य को कर लें, कदापि कोई आनाकानी न करें, इस निर्णय को टालें नहीं।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Purpose of the Church

In the previous review-article we have seen why it is necessary for every Born-Again Christian Believer to learn about the Church of God and about fellowshipping with God’s children. Because, it is a stewardship entrusted to us by God, and we have to fulfil it worthily, since eventually we will have to give an account of it to Him. We have been learning about the Church from the Lord Jesus’s statement in Matthew 16:18, where the word “Church” has been used in the Bible for the first time. We have seen in the previous articles, as well as the review article, that the Lord Jesus has not in the least, left any aspect of His Church, in the hands of anyone other than Himself. This shows how important and dear to His heart the Church is. This fact is of paramount importance, and today, through the purpose of the Church, we will see why this is so. Then, in the subsequent articles, based on what we have learnt about the Church so far, we will see the practical implications, i.e., how we need to live and behave in the Church.

What is the purpose of the Lord in building His Church, and in so minutely examining us (1 Corinthians 3:13-15), before joining us to His Church? To understand this, we need to go back to the first sin committed in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve, beguiled by Satan, disobeyed God. This opened the way for sin to enter into creation, and sin’s harmful effects spread into and spoiled the whole of creation (Romans 8:19-22). Before this sad and painful event, man had an open, unbroken fellowship with God, which was broken by sin. Since then, God is engaged in the process of restoring back this fellowship with man, to remove the seeds of sin sown by Satan in the lives of men, and to give back to man the place and position (Romans 8:15-17; 1 Corinthians 6:2-3) He had given to him at the time of his creation (Genesis 1:28), and gather man to be with Him in that fully restored status (Ephesians 6:25-27). 

That is why He is so minutely managing and carrying out this whole process, all by Himself, so that nothing of Satan has any chance of remaining behind to once again ruin things. That is why, in our character, behavior, and mutual fellowship, He does not want to see anything whatsoever of the world, man, and Satan; but only the things which are of Him and His Word. And, a Believer’s abiding only in the Lord and His Word, not in anything made-up or created by man (1 John 2:3-6); living to only be a God pleaser, not a man-pleaser (Galatians 1:10), are the evidences that he actually is obeying the Lord’s making him without any spot or wrinkle.

If you are a Christian Believer, then once again it is our humble but ardent request that you earnestly examine and ensure your actual status with the Lord, now while you have the time and opportunity. By being born in a particular family, or by following and fulfilling the rules, regulations, rites, rituals, feasts, festivals, and ceremonies of any sect or denomination, or because of any number of one’s previous generations being ‘Christians’ in the past does not make anyone a person of the Lord and a member of His Church. This only happens by a person’s taking a willing, conscious decision to repent of one’s sins, ask Him for forgiveness of sins, accept the Lord Jesus as savior and Lord, fully surrender and commit one’s life to Him, to live in obedience to Him and His Word (Acts 17:30-31; Romans 10:9-10). If you have any doubts whatsoever about your being Born-Again, then please get them clarified and settled now; please do not ignore, delay, or postpone doing so.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लगभग एक महीने से हम निरन्तर इस बात पर जोर देते चले आ रहे हैं कि प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर ने न केवल अपनी कलीसिया का एक अंग बनाया है, वरन उसे अपने परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों, अर्थात, अन्य उद्धार पाए हुए संतानों के साथ सहभागिता में भी रखा है। परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से मिले इस प्रावधान के साथ एक निहितार्थ भी है, कि परमेश्वर ने अपनी प्रत्येक सन्तान को अपनी कलीसिया और अपनी सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता रखने का भण्डारी भी बनाया है। इस तथ्य के द्वारा परमेश्वर की सन्तानों पर निहित जिम्मेदारियों को समझने और सीखने के लिए हम परमेश्वर की कलीसिया के बारे में मत्ती 16:18 से, जहाँ पर “कलीसिया” शब्द बाइबल में पहली बार आया है, देख रहे हैं कि कलीसिया क्या है और कैसे बनाई गई है। आज हम, जो कुछ हमने अभी तक सीखा है, उसकी समीक्षा करेंगे, और फिर इसके बाद के लेखों में हम कलीसिया के उद्देश्य और हमने अभी तक जो परमेश्वर की कलीसिया और उसकी सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता के बारे में सीखा है, उसके व्यावहारिक निहितार्थों को देखेंगे।

पिछले लेखों में हमने मत्ती 16:18 में प्रभु के कहे वाक्य - “...मैं इस पत्थर पर अपनी कलीसिया बनाऊंगा...” से देखा है कि बाइबल के अनुसार कलीसिया कोई आराधना का भौतिक स्थान अथवा भवन नहीं है, वरन उन लोगों का समूह है जो प्रभु यीशु को जगत का एकमात्र उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करते हैं।  और इस आधार पर, उन्होंने प्रभु यीशु से पापों की क्षमा और उद्धार प्राप्त करके उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में बने रहने के लिये अपने आप को पूर्णतः प्रभु को समर्पित किया है। प्रभु यीशु द्वारा कहे गए इस वाक्यांश से हमने प्रभु की इस कलीसिया के विषय तीन बातें देखीं - पहली प्रभु यीशु ही अपने लोगों को एकत्रित कर रहा है, और उसके लोगों में किसी अन्य आधार पर कोई भी व्यक्ति सम्मिलित नहीं हो तथा रह सकता है; प्रभु या तो उन्हें पृथक कर देता है, या अन्ततः कर देगा। दूसरी बात उसके लोगों की देखभाल और रख-रखाव के लिए प्रभु की इस कलीसिया का संपूर्ण स्वामित्व प्रभु यीशु ही के पास है; प्रभु ने कुछ लोगों को कलीसिया की कुछ ज़िम्मेदारियां अवश्य दी हैं, किन्तु स्वामी वह स्वयं ही है, और उसने जिसे जो कार्य या ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपी है, उससे उसका हिसाब अवश्य लेगा। अपने लोगों की जरा से भी हानि या उनके प्रति कोई भी लापरवाही उसे कतई स्वीकार नहीं है। और तीसरी बात है कि प्रभु की कलीसिया अभी निर्माणाधीन है, प्रभु यीशु ही उसे बना रहा है; उसकी कलीसिया में कौन कहाँ पर किस प्रकार से उपयोग होगा, यह केवल प्रभु यीशु ही निर्धारित एवं कार्यान्वित करता है। किसी भी व्यक्ति का, वह चाहे कोई भी क्यों न हो, इसमें कोई हस्तक्षेप नहीं है। अर्थात् प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया से संबंधित हर बात पूर्णतः प्रभु ही के नियंत्रण में है, किसी भी मनुष्य या मानवीय संस्था का इसमें कोई हस्तक्षेप नहीं है, चाहे इस संसार में उस मनुष्य अथवा संस्था का कोई भी स्थान या सम्मान क्यों न हो। 

प्रभु यीशु ने अपने स्वर्गारोहण से पहले अपने शिष्यों को जो महान आज्ञा दी (मत्ती 28:18-20; मरकुस 16:15-19; लूका 24:47; प्रेरितों 1:8), वह सारे संसार के सभी लोगों, सभी जातियों में जा कर पापों से पश्चाताप करने और यीशु को प्रभु स्वीकार करने के द्वारा प्रभु यीशु में पापों की क्षमा और उद्धार पाने के सुसमाचार प्रचार करने के लिए थी। अर्थात्,  प्रभु का दृष्टिकोण केवल किसी एक स्थान विशेष के लोगों के लिए नहीं है, वरन सारे संसार के सभी लोगों के लिए है। इसलिए प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया किसी स्थान अथवा जाति विशेष तक ही सीमित नहीं है, वरन विश्वव्यापी है। प्रभु संसार के सभी स्थानों और लोगों में से अपने विश्वासियों को एकत्रित करके अपनी विश्वव्यापी कलीसिया बनाने में लगा हुआ है। हम मसीही विश्वासी सुसमाचार प्रचार के द्वारा प्रभु के इस कार्य में उसके सहकर्मी, उसके सहायक हैं – हम सुसमाचार प्रचार के द्वारा लोगों को प्रभु के पास लाते हैं, प्रभु से जोड़ते हैं; और जो सच्चे मन तथा पूर्ण समर्पण से प्रभु के साथ जुड़ता है, उसे अपना उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करता है और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित करता है, प्रभु उसे अपनी कलीसिया में उसके लिए उपयुक्त और उचित स्थान निर्धारित करके, उसे उस स्थान और दायित्व के निर्वाह के लिए तैयार करता है, प्रयोग करता है।

किन्तु साथ ही प्रभु यीशु प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के पापों से पश्चाताप और उसके प्रति उस व्यक्ति के समर्पण की वास्तविक मनोदशा भी भली-भांति जानता है, कोई उसका मूर्ख नहीं बना सकता है और न ही छल से प्रवेश कर सकता है। इसलिए उसकी कलीसिया में केवल वही बना रह सकता है, और उपयोगी हो सकता है, जो प्रभु के मानकों पर सही होता है। अन्य सभी लोग देर-सवेर, अथवा जगत के अंत के समय के पृथक किए जाने में कलीसिया से बाहर निकाल कर अनन्त विनाश में भेज दिए जाएंगे (मत्ती 13:30)। इसलिए हम सभी के लिए अभी यह अवसर है कि कलीसिया में अपने होने के विषय अपनी सही जाँच-परख कर लें, और यदि कोई सुधार लाना है तो उसे अभी समय रहते कर लें, क्योंकि किसके पास समय और अवसर कब तक है कोई नहीं जानता है; इस निर्णय को टालना बहुत हानिकारक, और अनन्तकाल के लिए पीड़ादायक हो सकता है (इब्रानियों 3:7-19)।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Building the Church – Review

 

For the past month we have been repeatedly emphasizing that every Born-Again Christian Believer has not only been made a member of His Church by God, but has also been placed in fellowship with the other members of God’s family, i.e., the other saved children of God. Inherent in this gracious provision from God is the fact that God has also made every one of His children, stewards of His Church and of fellowshipping with each other. To be able to understand the responsibilities this fact places upon the children of God, we have been studying about God’s Church from Matthew 16:18, where the word “Church” has first been used in the Bible – what it is, and how it is built. Today we will review what we have learnt so far, and then in the subsequent articles we will look at the purpose of the Church, and the practical implications of what we have learnt about God’s Church and fellowshipping with His children.

In the previous articles, we have been looking at important things from the Lord’s statement, “...on this rock I will build My church…” (Matthew 16:18). We have seen that, Biblically, the Church is not a building or a physical place of worship. It is a group of people called-out and gathered by the Lord Jesus Christ, those that accept Him as the one and only God appointed savior of the world. And, on this basis they have asked for forgiveness of their sins from the Lord Jesus, and have surrendered their lives to Him, to live in His obedience. From this sentence, we had seen three things about the Church: First, it is the Lord Jesus Himself who is gathering together His people; none can become ‘His people’ and join His Church on any other basis or criteria - Lord either separates them out, or eventually will do it.  Second, the Lord Himself looks after and takes care of His people in the Church; He alone has the full ownership and authority of His Church. Although the Lord has given some responsibilities for the managing and functioning of the Church to some people chosen by Him for this, but only He is the owner, and will take an account from those He has appointed for any work or given any responsibility. The Lord does not tolerate any carelessness or harm to His Church from anyone. Thirdly, the Church of the Lord Jesus is still “Under Construction;” the Lord Jesus Himself is building it. He alone determines who will do what, where, and when in His Church. No person, whoever he may be, has any say in this. So, everything related to the Church of the Lord Jesus is under the control of the Lord Himself; no person or organization has any say or interference in it, whatever be the status, or respect, or ranking of that person or institution in this world.

The Great Commission that the Lord gave to His disciples, before His ascension to heaven (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-19; Luke 24:47; Acts 1:8), was for them to go into the world and preach the gospel to all people, to tell them about repentance of their sins and receiving forgiveness of sins by accepting Jesus as Lord and committing their lives to Him. In other words, the Lord’s perspective was not just for a particular place or people, but for everyone in the world. Therefore, the Church of the Lord too is not confined to any particular place or people, but is universal. The Lord Jesus is engaged in gathering His people from all over the world to build His Universal Church. The truly Born-Again Christian Believers are the Lord’s co-workers, His helpers in this, through preaching the gospel. Through the preaching of the gospel, we bring people to the Lord, join them to the Lord, and those who join with the Lord with a true heart and full submission, those who accept the Lord Jesus as their savior and Lord, the Lord then assigns that person a place in His Church, and starts preparing him to take that place and work for Him accordingly.

But along with this, the Lord also well knows the actual condition of the repentance, faith, and submission to Him of every person, none can fool Him or bluff their way through. Therefore, in His Church, only those will remain and be useful, who satisfy the standards and criteria of the Lord. Else, sooner or later, or eventually at the time of separation that will be done at the end of the world, everyone not truly Born-Again, will be cast out of the Church into eternal destruction (Matthew 13:30). Therefore, for all of us, this is a time and opportunity to examine ourselves about our being a part of the Lord’s Church, and carry out whatever rectifications that are required to ensure we actually are a part of His Church. Ignoring or postponing this decision can have disastrous and eternal consequences (Hebrews 3:7-19).

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर की कलीसिया और उसकी सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता रखने का भण्डारी होने के नाते, प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को उनके बारे में सीखना है, ताकि अपने भण्डारी होने का सही निर्वाह कर सके। विश्वासियों को यह भी ध्यान में रखना चाहिए कि जिस प्रकार से उद्धार और नया-जन्म पाने के द्वारा वे कलीसिया में तथा सहभागिता में जोड़े गए हैं, वैसे ही अन्य भी प्रभु के द्वारा जोड़े जा रहे हैं। साथ ही, जैसे एक नया-जन्म पाए हुए विश्वासी होने पर, उसे अपनी आत्मिक बढ़ोतरी और परिपक्वता के लिए समय चाहिए, उसी प्रकार से जो अन्य लोग जोड़े जा रहे हैं, उन को भी समय चाहिए। दूसरे शब्दों में, प्रभु की कलीसिया अभी “निर्माणाधीन” है; और इस लिए अपूर्ण और असिद्ध है। इसी लिए, किसी को भी यह अपेक्षा नहीं रखनी चाहिए कि प्रभु की कलीसिया अभी पूर्णतः सिद्ध और आत्मिक रीति से परिशुद्ध होगी; यह तब ही होगा जब जोड़े जाने और तैयार किए जाने की प्रक्रिया पूर्ण हो जाएगी।

इन बातों का एक उत्तम उदाहरण राजा सुलैमान द्वारा परमेश्वर की आराधना के लिए बनवाया गया प्रथम मंदिर का निर्माण कार्य है। परमेश्वर के इस मंदिर के लिए लिखा गया है, “और बनते समय भवन ऐसे पत्थरों का बनाया गया, जो वहां ले आने से पहिले गढ़कर ठीक किए गए थे, और भवन के बनते समय हथौड़े बसूली या और किसी प्रकार के लोहे के औजार का शब्द कभी सुनाई नहीं पड़ा” (1 राजा 6:7)। इस पद की बातों पर ध्यान कीजिए - मंदिर के निर्माण के लिए जो पत्थर तैयार किए गए, वे, निकाले जाने के बाद, और मंदिर में लगाए जाने से पहले, एक अलग स्थान पर गढ़कर, तराश कर, काट-छाँट कर, मन्दिर में उनके निर्धारित स्थान के लिये ठीक कर लिए जाते थे। जब वे अपने निर्धारित स्थान पर बैठाए जाने के लिए तैयार हो जाते थे, तो उन्हें ला कर उनके निर्धारित स्थान पर स्थापित कर दिया जाता था। हर पत्थर का अपना निर्धारित स्थान था, जिसके आधार पर उसे गढ़, तराश और काट-छाँट कर तैयार किया जाता था। न तो वह पत्थर किसी अन्य का स्थान ले सकता था, और न ही कोई अन्य पत्थर उसका स्थान ले सकता था; और न ही वह पत्थर यह निर्धारित करता था कि वह कहाँ पर लगाया जाना पसंद करेगा। भवन बनाने वाले ने जिसे जहाँ के लिए निर्धारित और तैयार किया था, वह वहीं पर लाकर स्थापित किया जाता था। 

एक और बहुत अद्भुत बात थी कि उस पत्थर को बस लाकर उसके स्थान पर स्थापित कर दिया जाता था; उसे फिर गढ़ने, तराशने और काटने-छाँटने की, अर्थात अन्य के साथ ताल-मेल बैठाने के लिए सही करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं होती थी; वहाँ पर, मंदिर में, किसी भी औज़ार का शब्द सुनाई नहीं देता था। इसी प्रकार से प्रभु भी हमें इस संसार में, जहाँ से उसने हमें निकाला है, विभिन्न परिस्थितियों और अनुभवों के द्वारा इसी सँसार में रहते हुए, गढ़कर, तराश कर, काट-छाँट कर तैयार कर रहा है, जिसमें निःसन्देह कष्ट उठाने और सहने पड़ते हैं। वह यह कार्य हमें अपने सुरक्षित स्थान, अपनी कलीसिया - प्रभु द्वारा बुलाए गए लोगों के विश्वव्यापी समूह, में लाकर करता है, जहाँ हम निरंतर उसकी निगरानी, उसकी देखभाल में रहते हैं। प्रभु के नियुक्त सेवकों के द्वारा हमें तैयार किया जाता है, प्रभु उन सेवकों के कार्य पर भी दृष्टि बनाए रखता है; और अन्ततः जब वह मसीही विश्वासी उसके द्वारा निर्धारित स्थान के लिए तैयार हो जाता है, प्रभु उसे वहाँ पर स्थापित कर देता है। इस प्रकार प्रभु द्वारा परमेश्वर के निवास के लिए यह मंदिर बनाया जा रहा है, निर्माणाधीन है। 

ध्यान कीजिए, जिस पहाड़, या खदान से ये पत्थर निकाले जाते थे, वहाँ पर छोटे-बड़े, विभिन्न आकार और प्रकार के अनेकों अन्य पत्थर भी होंगे; किन्तु हर पत्थर मंदिर में लगाए जाने के लिए उपयुक्त एवं उचित नहीं था। केवल वही पत्थर जो मंदिर में लगाए जाने के लिए उपयुक्त एवं उचित थे, उन्हें ही फिर पहले तो गढ़ने, तराशने, और काटने-छाँटने के लिए लिया गया, और उनके तैयार हो जाने के बाद, अन्ततः मंदिर में उनके निर्धारित स्थान पर स्थापित किया गया। प्रभु के द्वारा कलीसिया के बनाए जाने में भी केवल वही “पत्थर” या लोग सम्मिलित होंगे जो वास्तव में प्रभु की कलीसिया के हैं, जो ईमानदारी से उसे “मसीह” यानि “जगत का एकमात्र उद्धारकर्ता” स्वीकार करके उस पर विश्वास रखते हैं, उसी के आज्ञाकारी रहते हैं। अन्य कोई भी, जो किसी भी अन्य आधार पर कलीसिया से जुड़ने का प्रयास करता है, अन्ततः उसका तिरस्कार कर दिया जाएगा, उसे कलीसिया से बाहर निकाल दिया जाएगा, और अनन्त विनाश के लिए भेज दिया जाएगा। 

मत्ती 13:24-30 के दृष्टांत पर ध्यान कीजिए; बुरे पौधों के खेत में बने और बढ़ते रहने, खेत के स्वामी द्वारा उनकी भी देखभाल होने, उन्हें भी पानी और खाद मिलने, पक्षियों और जानवरों से उनकी भी सुरक्षा किए जाने के द्वारा वे जंगली पौधे खेत के स्वामी को स्वीकार्य नहीं बन गए थे। उनका अन्तिम स्थान तो पहले से निर्धारित था, और वे फिर वहीं भेज भी दिए गए। इसी प्रकार, प्रभु की कलीसिया में जो प्रभु के मानकों और निर्धारण के द्वारा नहीं है, शैतान और मनुष्यों के द्वारा घुसाये गये हैं, वे अभी अपने आप को कितना भी सुरक्षित और प्रभु के द्वारा स्वीकार्य हो गये क्यों न समझते रहें, अन्ततः उन की वास्तविकता तथा अंतिम दशा अनन्त विनाश ही की होगी, वह स्वर्गीय मंदिर या कलीसिया का भाग कभी नहीं ठहरेंगे।

यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो अपने आप को जाँच-परख कर सुनिश्चित कर लीजिए कि आप प्रभु के मानकों और बुलाए जाने के द्वारा अपने आप को मसीही विश्वासी मानते हैं, या आप किसी अन्य रीति द्वारा प्रभु की कलीसिया से जुड़ने के कारण अपने आप मसीही विश्वासी समझते हैं। खेत में उगने वाले बुरे पौधों के लिए तो अपनी अंतिम दशा बदलना संभव नहीं था, किन्तु आपके पास अभी अवसर भी है, और प्रभु की क्षमा भी आपके लिए अभी उपलब्ध है, आप अभी भी अपनी अंतिम दशा बदल कर ठीक कर सकते हैं। अभी सही आँकलन करके सही निर्णय ले लीजिए; बाद में यदि समय, अवसर, या क्षमता न रहे, तो फिर अनन्त विनाश ही हाथ लगेगा। दूसरे, पृथ्वी पर प्रभु की कलीसिया में सम्मिलित होने के बाद, प्रभु आपको गढ़कर, तराश कर, काट-छाँट कर ठीक करता है कि आप उसकी स्वर्गीय कलीसिया में आपके उचित स्थान पर स्थापित किए जा सकें। यह प्रक्रिया अवश्य ही पीड़ादायक होती है, इसके द्वारा हमारे जीवन की कई बातें जो व्यर्थ और आत्मिक उन्नति एवं परिपक्वता के लिए बाधक हैं, निकाल दी जाती हैं। इसे कोई विलक्षण, अनहोनी, या अनुचित बात न समझें (प्रेरितों 14:22; 2 तिमुथियुस 3:12; इब्रानियों 12:5-12; 1 पतरस 4:1-2, 12-19); ये बातें हमारे तैयार किए जाने का एक अनिवार्य भाग हैं।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

As a steward of God’s Church and of fellowshipping with God’s other children, every Born-Again Christian Believer must learn about them, to worthily fulfil his stewardship. The Believers should also bear in mind that just as they have been added to the Church and fellowship by being saved and Born-Again, similarly, others are also being added by the Lord to His Church. Also, just as he as a newly Born-Again Believer takes time to grow and mature spiritually, similarly, the others who are being joined also need time to grow and mature. In other words, the Lord’s Church is still “under-construction;” and therefore is incomplete and imperfect. So, no one should expect impeccable perfection and pure spirituality in the Church, till this process of being added and perfected has been completed.

An excellent example of this process is the first temple built by Solomon for the worship of the Lord. It has been written about the construction process of this Temple that “And the temple, when it was being built, was built with stone finished at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built” (1 Kings 6:7). Take note of the things said in this verse. The stones that were used for the building of this temple, after being taken out of the quarry, and before being put in their place in the temple, were worked upon in a place where they were cut, trimmed, polished and given the size, shape, and appearance required for their place in the temple. Once they were ready for being placed in the temple at their proper appointed place, then they were brought and fitted into their place. Every stone had its assigned place, and according to that place, it was cut, trimmed, prepared, and made ready. No other stone could take its place, nor could the stone take the place of any other stone; nor did the stone decide in which place it would like to be placed and fitted in. According to the plan and design of the master-builder, every stone was placed in its pre-determined location. 

There was another very astounding and wonderful thing that was happening, and is mentioned here; each prepared and ready stone was just brought and fit into its place, there was no need to trim and finely cut or prepare it again to take its place and settle in with the other stones at that location. It is written that in the temple there was no sound heard of any instruments being used. Similarly, the Lord too, in this world, from where He has taken us, is, through our situations, experiences, and circumstances in this world itself, is cutting, trimming, molding, and polishing us, which undoubtedly is a painful process, preparing us to take our pre-determined place in the Church. He does this work in His secured place, in His Church - the world-wide group of the called out ones, where we are constantly under His observation and are being worked upon, under His supervision by His appointed ministers. When we are finally ready and prepared for our pre-determined place, the Lord takes and places us there. In this manner, this temple, this Church is still under construction, he is still building it.

Think it over, in the quarry, from where the stones were cut, there must have been various stones of different sizes and shapes; but every stone was not appropriate for being used in the temple. Only those stones that were appropriate for being used in the temple, were then first taken to be cut, trimmed, polished, and prepared to place in the temple, and then placed at their appropriate place in the Temple. The Lord too uses only those people to build His Church, who are actually worthy of His Church, i.e., those who have sincerely accepted Him as the Messiah, the “one and only savior of the world” have come into faith in Him, and have lived a life of obedience to Him and His Word. Anyone else, who has joined himself to the Lord’s Church through any other means, on any other basis or criteria, will be rejected, sent out into eternal destruction. 

Pay heed to the parable of Matthew 13:24-30; the tares too received the care of the landlord, they too got the manure, water, protection from birds and animals, etc., but none of this made them accepted by the landlord. They had been identified and kept for destruction from the beginning, and that is where they were eventually sent. Similarly, in the Church of the Lord, all those who are not according to the standards and criteria of the Lord, those who have been infiltrated into the Church by Satan and men, they may consider themselves safe and secure for now, may think that they have been accepted by the Lord, but eventually at the end, they will be cast out and sent to destruction. They will never be a part of the heavenly temple, the Church of God.

If you are a Christian Believer, then examine yourself and make sure that you actually are a saved and Born-Again Believer, as per the criteria and the standards of the Lord Jesus, and have come into the Church not through any other mechanism or way, but by the one and only way of repentance and forgiveness of sins from the Lord, as given by the Lord. The tares growing in that field did not have the power or ability to change their eternal destiny; but you have the opportunity and the ability to receive the Lord’s forgiveness and come to faith in Him, join Him in His prescribed manner. Do a proper evaluation now, and rectify that which needs to be rectified, while you still can do it. Do it now, lest somehow if you do not have the opportunity, time, or ability to do it later, you may not have to cut a sorry figure and face eternal destruction. Secondly, after you become a part of the Church of the Lord Jesus, He will cut, trim, mold, and polish you to prepare you for your assigned place in the Church. This process is painful for sure; but is necessary, and by it many vain and redundant things in our lives are taken away, things that impede our spiritual growth and maturity. Do not think this to be something unexpected or inappropriate (Acts 14:22; 2 Timothy 3:12; Hebrews 12:5-12; 1 Peter 4:1-2, 12-19); this is an integral and essential part of the process to build us up for our place in the Church.

क्योंकि प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर की कलीसिया तथा उसकी अन्य सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता रखने, जहाँ परमेश्वर ने उसे रखा है, का भण्डारी भी है, इसलिए, उसके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि वह इन बातों के बारे में सीखे ताकि अपने भण्डारी होने की ज़िम्मेदारी और उसका हिसाब देने का सही निर्वाह कर सके। हम कलीसिया तथा परमेश्वर की अन्य सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता रखने के बारे में मत्ती 16:18 से सीख रहे हैं, जहाँ पर शब्द “कलीसिया” बाइबल में पहली बार उपयोग किया गया है।

पिछले लेखों में हम मत्ती 16:18 में प्रभु के कहे वाक्य - “...मैं इस पत्थर पर अपनी कलीसिया बनाऊंगा...”; की तीन बहुत महत्वपूर्ण को देखते आ रहे हैं। इनमें से पहली बात है, कि प्रभु ने कहा है कि वह स्वयं ही अपनी कलीसिया बनाएगा; यानि कि, प्रभु यीशु अपनी कलीसिया को, अर्थात, उन लोगों को जो उसे “मसीह,” अर्थात् जगत का एकमात्र उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करते हैं, स्वयं ही एक विश्वव्यापी समूह में एकत्रित कर रहा है। किसी की भी वास्तविक मनोदशा, और प्रभु के प्रति उसकी निष्ठा और समर्पण की वास्तविक स्थिति को कोई भी मनुष्य नहीं जान सकता है, किन्तु प्रभु की दृष्टि से कुछ छिपा नहीं है (यूहन्ना 2:24-25)। इसीलिए वह समय-समय पर मनुष्यों और शैतान द्वारा कलीसिया में घुसाए हुए लोगों को प्रकट और पृथक करता रहता, उन्हें हटाता रहता है। और मत्ती 13:24-30 के अनुसार, अंत के समय एक बड़ा पृथक करना होगा और कलीसिया में घुसाए गए दुष्ट के सारे लोग निकाल कर अनन्त विनाश में भेज दिए जाएंगे, प्रभु की कलीसिया में प्रभु के चुने हुए लोगों के अतिरिक्त अन्य कोई नहीं बचेगा। 

दूसरी बात जो हमने पिछले लेख में कुछ विस्तार से देखी, वह है कि प्रभु अपनी कलीसिया का स्वामी है और अपने स्वामित्व में कोई हस्तक्षेप नहीं होने देता है। वह अपने इस स्वामित्व को बहुत गंभीरता से लेता है, अपनी कलीसिया, यानि अपने लोगों का पूरा ध्यान रखता है। वह स्वयं ही कलीसिया की देखभाल के लिए उचित सेवकों को उनकी योग्यता के अनुसार नियुक्त करता है और फिर उन से उन्हें सौंपे गए दायित्व का पूरा हिसाब भी लेता है। प्रभु को अपनी कलीसिया, अपने लोगों की जरा सी भी हानि, उनके प्रति थोड़ी सी भी लापरवाही कतई स्वीकार नहीं है। 

तीसरी, जिसे हम आज देखेंगे है कि प्रभु ने कहा कि वह स्वयं ही अपनी इस कलीसिया को ‘बनाएगा’; प्रभु के इस कथन में भी दो महत्वपूर्ण बातें हैं, जिन्हें कलीसिया के लिए प्रयोग किए गए रूपकों में से एक, “परमेश्वर के निवास के लिए एक मन्दिर” (इफिसियों 2:21-22) के संदर्भ में अधिक सरलता से समझा जा सकता है:

उन दोनों बातों में से एक बात तो यह कि जैसे हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है, कलीसिया से संबंधित हर बात में प्रभु की सार्वभौमिक है। वही अपने लोगों को चुनता और बुलाता है, अनुचित तथा घुसाए गये लोगों को अपने लोगों में से पृथक करता है; और कलीसिया का संपूर्ण स्वामित्व प्रभु के ही हाथों में है। साथ ही, वह स्वयं ही अपनी कलीसिया को बना भी रहा है। हर एक निर्माणाधीन निवास-स्थान या मंदिर के हर अंश का, हर पत्थर का, अपना निर्धारित स्थान होता है। जिस पत्थर का जो स्थान है उसे वहीं पर लगाया और उपयोग किया जाता है। उसी प्रकार से प्रभु ही अपने लोगों को, उसके द्वारा उनके निर्धारित कार्यों एवं कलीसिया या मण्डली में उपयोग के अनुसार व्यवस्थित करके उन्हें कलीसिया में उनके सही स्थान पर स्थापित भी करता है। यह निर्णय न तो किसी मसीही विश्वासी का अपना होता है, न किसी अन्य मनुष्य, अगुवे, अध्यक्ष, डिनॉमिनेशन, अथवा संस्था आदि का है; इसे केवल प्रभु ही निर्धारित और कार्यान्वित करता है। 

और, दूसरी बात है कि ध्यान कीजिए कि यहाँ प्रयुक्त शब्द है ‘बनाएगा’ - भविष्य काल; जब प्रभु ने यह बात कही कलीसिया उस समय वर्तमान नहीं थी, बनाई जानी थी। किसी वस्तु को ‘बनाने’ में समय और प्रयास लगता है, उसे उसके पूर्ण और अंतिम स्वरूप में लाने या ढालने के लिए एक प्रक्रिया से होकर निकलना पड़ता है। प्रभु द्वारा कही गई यह बात प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में पतरस के प्रचार और उस प्रचार द्वारा हुई प्रतिक्रिया के साथ कलीसिया के अस्तित्व में आने से आरंभ हुई थी। कलीसिया का आरंभ प्रेरितों 2 में पतरस के प्रचार, और उसके प्रति यरूशलेम में एकत्रित भक्त यहूदियों द्वारा दी गई प्रतिक्रिया से हुआ था। हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि उस समय से, प्रभु ही अपनी कलीसिया में लोगों को जोड़ता चला जा रहा है। आज भी प्रभु की कलीसिया प्रभु के द्वारा ‘बनाई’ जा रही है, वह उसमें अभी भी संसार भर से हर प्रकार के लोग जोड़ता जा रहा है। साथ ही यह भी ध्यान कीजिए कि प्रभु की कलीसिया का प्रत्येक सदस्य, उसका प्रत्येक जन “नया जन्म” पाने के द्वारा प्रभु के साथ जुड़ता है। “नया जन्म” पाने के साथ ही वह एक आत्मिक शिशु के समान कलीसिया में, प्रभु की संगति में प्रवेश करता है। उसे शिशु अवस्था से उन्नत होकर परिपक्व स्थित में आने में समय और विभिन्न अनुभवों एवं शिक्षाओं से होकर निकलना पड़ता है; उसे काटा, छाँटा, तराशा, रगड़ा, और चमकाया जाता है। इसी लिए कलीसिया के सभी सदस्य अलग-अलग आत्मिक स्तर और परिपक्वता की स्थिति में देखे जाते हैं; प्रभु उन्हें उनके कलीसिया में सही स्थान के लिए अभी तैयार कर रहा है। इसी लिए कहा जाता है कि अभी कलीसिया पूर्ण नहीं हुई है, निर्माणाधीन है; उसमें कार्य ज़ारी है। यही कारण है कि आज हमें प्रभु की कलीसिया में, अर्थात प्रभु के लोगों के समूह में कुछ कमियाँ, दोष, अपूर्णता, और सुधार के योग्य बातें दिखती हैं। प्रभु उसे बना भी रहा है और जितनी बन गई है, उसे प्रभु निष्कलंक, बेझुर्री भी बनाता जा रहा है, जिससे अन्ततः अपने पूर्ण स्वरूप में वह तेजस्वी, पवित्र और निर्दोष होकर उसके साथ खड़ी हो (इफिसियों 5:27)।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Since every Born-Again Christian Believer is also a steward of God’s Church and the fellowship of God’s other children, where he has been placed by God, therefore, it is necessary for him to learn about them, to worthily fulfil his stewardship and accountability for them. We are learning about the Church and fellowshipping with other children of God from Matthew 16:18, where the word “Church” has been used in the Bible for the first time.

In the previous articles, we have been looking at three important things from the Lord’s statement, “...on this rock I will build My church…” said by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 16:18. The first among these three is that the Lord said that it is He who will build His Church, i.e., the Lord Jesus Himself is gathering together those people who accept Him as the “Christ,” the one and only savior of the world, into one world-wide body. No man can ever know the actual state of any person’s mind and heart, nor a person’s commitment and submission towards the Lord Jesus; but nothing is hidden from the eyes of the Lord God (John 2:24-25). So, from time-to-time He keeps exposing, separating, and weeding out the infiltrators brought into His Church by men and Satan. And as per Matthew 13:24-30, at the end there will be a great separation and segregation; and those sneaked into the Church by the wicked one will all be cast out into eternal destruction, none other than the Lord’s chosen will remain in the Lord Jesus Christ’s Church.

The second thing that we saw in some detail in the previous article was that the Lord is the owner of His Church, and does not allow any interference in His ownership. He takes His ownership responsibilities very seriously, and takes full care of His people. He Himself appoints appropriate people, according to their abilities, for looking after the works of the Church, and eventually will take a proper accounting from them of this responsibility entrusted to them. The Lord does not accept any carelessness, any harm, of His people and Church.

The third thing, which we will see today is the Lord’s statement that He Himself ‘will build’ His Church. There are two important points in this statement of the Lord, which can be more easily understood by one of the metaphors used for the Church, “A temple for the dwelling of God” (Ephesians 2:21-23).

Of those two, the first point is that, as we have seen in the preceding articles, the Lord Jesus is sovereign in everything related to the Church. It is He who chooses and calls His people, separates out the inappropriate and infiltrated ones from amongst His people, and the ownership of the Church is in the hands of the Lord. Also, it is He who is building His Church. In every house or temple being built, every piece, every stone has its appointed place. Every stone is placed in its fixed place and used in its assigned role. Similarly, it is the Lord who properly places and establishes every person in His Church according to the person’s work, ministry, and assigned place in the Church. This decision is not taken by any Christian Believer, nor by any other person, or Elder, or Official, or by any Denomination, Organization, or Institution. It is only the Lord, and Lord alone who determines and implements this.

The second point is that in this statement, the Lord uses the future tense “will build;” when the Lord had said this, at that time the Church had not come into existence, it still had to be built. It takes time and effort to build anything, and a process has to be followed to bring it into the final shape, and its completion. The Church began with the preaching of Peter in Acts 2, and the response of the devout Jews gathered in Jerusalem, on hearing the sermon. We have already seen earlier that from that time onwards, the Lord Himself kept adding people to His Church. Even today, this process of adding to the Church is continuing, and the Lord, through His people all over the world, is still continuing to build His Church. Also bear in mind that every person that the Lord adds, gets added by the person’s being saved or being Born-Again. With being saved or Born-Again, a person enters into the fellowship of the Lord as a spiritual infant, passes through various experiences and learns many things, gradually maturing and growing spiritually, being cut, trimmed, molded, and polished to take his assigned place in the Church. That is why, in the Church - local as well as universal, we still have Christian Believers in various stages of maturity and spiritual growth; the Lord is still at work in them, preparing them for their appointed place in the Church. That is why it is said that the Church has not been completed yet; it is still “under construction.” It is for this reason that in the Lord’s Church we still get to see some faults, shortcomings, things that need to be corrected, and incompleteness. The Lord is still building it, and whatever has been built, is making it without spot or wrinkle as well, so that in its completed form, the Church will stand by His side as His glorious, holy, blemish-less bride (Ephesians 5:27).

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर ने अपनी सन्तानों, अर्थात, नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों को, उनके द्वारा मसीही जीवनों को जीने तथा योग्य रीति से उन्हें परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपे गए कार्य को करने के लिए, विभिन्न बातें प्रदान की हैं। प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी, जो कुछ भी परमेश्वर ने उसे सौंपा है, उसका भण्डारी भी है; और अन्ततः उसे उस सभी का हिसाब परमेश्वर को देना होगा। परमेश्वर द्वारा विश्वासियों को दिए गए विशेषाधिकारों में से एक है उन का परमेश्वर की कलीसिया का अंग होना और परमेश्वर की अन्य सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता रखना। इस ज़िम्मेदारी के भले भण्डारी होने के लिए, हम इसके बारे में परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से, मत्ती 16:18 से सीख रहे हैं, जहाँ पर शब्द “कलीसिया” पहली बार बाइबल में उपयोग किया गया है।

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि मत्ती 16:18 में लिखे प्रभु द्वारा कहे वाक्य - “...मैं इस पत्थर पर अपनी कलीसिया बनाऊंगा...”; में तीन बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बातें हैं। इनमें से पहली, कि प्रभु स्वयं ही अपनी कलीसिया बनाएगा पर हमने पिछले लेख में विचार किया था, और देखा था कि प्रभु यीशु, उसे ‘मसीह,’ अर्थात, उसे जगत का एकमात्र उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने वाले लोगों को, स्वयं ही एक विश्वव्यापी समूह, यानि कि अपनी कलीसिया में एकत्रित कर रहा है। उसने यह दायित्व अन्य किसी पर नहीं छोड़ा है, स्‍वर्गदूतों पर भी नहीं। मनुष्य और शैतान प्रभु की आँखों में धूल झोंक कर किसी को भी प्रभु की कलीसिया में हमेशा बने रहने के लिए सम्मिलित नहीं कर सकते हैं। प्रभु की कलीसिया या मण्डली में केवल प्रभु ही के वास्तविक और समर्पित लोग रह सकते हैं। 

मत्ती 16:18 में प्रभु द्वारा कहे इस वाक्य में दूसरी बात थी कि प्रभु ही अपनी कलीसिया का स्वामी है, वह उसे “अपनी कलीसिया” कह कर संबोधित करता है। न केवल उस वास्तविक, सच्ची कलीसिया का बनाने वाला केवल प्रभु ही है, वरन उसका एकमात्र स्वामी भी प्रभु ही है; न कि कोई व्यक्ति अथवा डिनॉमिनेशन। प्रभु ने कलीसिया को किसी अन्य के स्वामित्व में नहीं छोड़ दिया है। नए नियम में हम देखते हैं कि लगभग सभी स्थानों पर विभिन्न स्थानों की कलीसियाओं को “परमेश्वर की कलीसिया” या इसके समान वाक्यांश के द्वारा ही संबोधित किया गया है (प्रेरितों 20:28; 1 कुरिन्थियों 1:2; 2 कुरिन्थियों 1:1; गलातीयों 1:13; 1 तिमुथियुस 3:5, 15; इत्यादि)। कुछ स्थानों पर उस स्थान के नाम से भी, जहाँ पर प्रभु के लोग निवास करते थे, कलीसिया को संबोधित किया गया है (कुलुस्सियों 4:16; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 1:1; 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 1:1; प्रकाशितवाक्य 2:1; आदि)। 

किन्तु कहीं पर भी उस स्थान की उस मण्डली के किसी अगुवे के नाम से, अथवा किसी प्रेरित या प्रचारक के नाम से, जिसके परिश्रम के द्वारा वहाँ लोगों ने प्रभु यीशु को उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण किया, संबोधित नहीं किया गया है। संपूर्ण बाइबल में कलीसिया कभी प्रभु को छोड़, किसी अन्य व्यक्ति अथवा संस्था की बताई या दिखाई ही नहीं गई है। जब लोगों ने अपने मध्य प्रचारकों, प्रेरितों, और अगुवों के नाम से गुट बनाने का प्रयास किया, तो तुरंत ही परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने इसकी तीव्र भर्त्सना की, और इस प्रवृत्ति को अंत करवाया (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:12-13)। इस उदाहरण में इस बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात का भी ध्यान कीजिए, कि यह नहीं लिखा है कि कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली के लोग उन अगुवों के नाम से अलग मण्डलियां बनाने के प्रयास कर रहे थे। कलीसिया तो वही एक ही थी, वे लोग तो उसी कलीसिया में अलग-अलग गुट बनाने के प्रयास हो रहे थे, और बन भी गए थे (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:18-19); किन्तु प्रभु की कलीसिया में यह भी अस्वीकार्य था। प्रभु को छोड़ किसी अन्य के नाम से मसीही विश्वासियों को पहचाने जाने की प्रवृत्ति को आरम्भिक कलीसिया सभाओं में तुरंत ही समाप्त करवा दिया गया। 

मत्ती 25 अध्याय में प्रभु ने अपने दूसरे आगमन से संबंधित दृष्टान्तों में, पद 14-30 में स्वामी द्वारा परदेश जाते समय, उनकी सामर्थ्य के अनुसार, अपनी संपत्ति अपने दासों को सौंपने का दृष्टांत दिया गया है।  इस दृष्टांत के अंत में उन दासों से उन्हें सौंपी गई ज़िम्मेदारी का हिसाब लेने और उनके द्वारा उनकी ज़िम्मेदारी को निभाने या नहीं निभाने के अनुसार प्रतिफल देने का वर्णन है। ध्यान कीजिए, दास भी स्वामी ने ही चुने, और किसे क्या देना है यह निर्णय भी स्वामी ने ही किया, और स्वामी ने एक निर्धारित समय के लिए ही अपने निर्धारित दासों को उनकी योग्यता के अनुसार संपत्ति की ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपी। उसने अपनी संपत्ति के स्वामित्व को छोड़ या त्याग नहीं दिया; और फिर आ कर उन से उसका हिसाब भी लिया। इसी के अनुरूप, इफिसियों 4:11-12 में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा कलीसिया के लिए लिखा गया है, “और उसने कितनों को भविष्यद्वक्ता नियुक्त कर के, और कितनों को सुसमाचार सुनाने वाले नियुक्त कर के, और कितनों को रखवाले और उपदेशक नियुक्त कर के दे दिया। जिस से पवित्र लोग सिद्ध हों जाएं, और सेवा का काम किया जाए, और मसीह की देह उन्नति पाए।” स्पष्ट है कि ये ज़िम्मेदारियाँ, प्रभु द्वारा की गई ‘नियुक्तियाँ’ हैं, अर्थात एक निर्धारित समय के लिए सौंपे गए दायित्व। उन्हें दी गई विरासत या स्वामित्व के अधिकार नहीं हैं। साथ ही इन नियुक्तियों का उद्देश्य भी दिया गया है - कलीसिया की उन्नति, सिद्धता, और मसीही सेवकाई। 

इसीलिए प्रेरितों 20:28 में प्रेरित पौलुस, और 1 पतरस 5:1-4 में प्रेरित पतरस कलीसिया के अगुवों से उन्हें सौंपे गए कलीसिया की देखभाल के इस दायित्व के बहुत ध्यान और लगन से निर्वाह करने के लिए आग्रह करता है। और इब्रानियों का लेखक अगुवों तथा मण्डली के लोगों को स्मरण करवाता है कि हिसाब लिया जाएगा (इब्रानियों 13:17)। प्रभु के लोगों के साथ दुर्व्यवहार करने वाले, उन्हें अपने स्वार्थ और भौतिक लाभ के लिए प्रयोग करने वाले, सौंपी गई जिम्मेदारियों के प्रति लापरवाह रहने वाले दास का, जिसने प्रभु द्वारा दी गई जिम्मेदारी को स्वामित्व समझ लिया था, क्या परिणाम होगा, यह हम प्रभु के दूसरे आगमन से संबंधित एक अन्य दृष्टांत में, मत्ती 24:45-51 में पढ़ सकते हैं। पुराने नियम में भी परमेश्वर के लोगों के प्रति ऐसा ही दुर्व्यवहार करने वाले इस्राएल के चरवाहों के लिए भी परमेश्वर द्वारा ऐसी ही तीव्र प्रतिक्रिया और दण्ड की आज्ञा दी गई है - यहेजकेल 34 अध्याय इसका एक उत्तम उदाहरण है। तात्पर्य यह कि प्रभु अपनी कलीसिया का स्वामी है और अपने स्वामित्व में कोई हस्तक्षेप सहन नहीं करता है। वह अपने इस स्वामित्व को बहुत गंभीरता से लेता है, उसका पूरा ध्यान और हिसाब रखता है, कलीसिया की देखभाल के लिए स्वयं ही दासों को उनकी योग्यता के अनुसार नियुक्त करता है, और वह अपने लोगों की जरा सी भी हानि, उनके प्रति थोड़ी सी भी लापरवाही कतई सहन नहीं कर सकता है। उसके लोगों के प्रति लापरवाही या दुर्व्यवहार करने वाले को बहुत भारी और बहुत दुखद परिणाम भोगना पड़ेगा, ऐसा सेवक किसी भी रीति से अपने इस अनुचित व्यवहार के लिए बचेगा नहीं। 

यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं; विशेषकर यदि प्रभु की मण्डली में आपको इफिसियों 4:11 तथा 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:28 में उल्लेखित जिम्मेदारियों के समान, या अन्य किसी भी ज़िम्मेदारी का कोई पद दिया गया है, तो आप से विनम्र निवेदन है कि यहेजकेल 34 अध्याय तथा मत्ती 24:45-51 को बहुधा पढ़ा करें। कलीसिया के अगुवों के लिये इन दोनों खण्डों अक्सर पढ़ते रहना अच्छा रहेगा। एक मसीही विश्वासी होने के नाते अपने आप को जाँच कर भी देख लें कि आप प्रभु यीशु के स्वामित्व की अधीनता में होकर कार्य कर रहे हैं, या किसी मनुष्य, अगुवे, अध्यक्ष, डिनॉमिनेशन, या संस्था की अधीनता में होकर, या उसे प्रसन्न रखने के लिए और उसके कारण प्रभु के स्वामित्व को नजरंदाज करते हुए कार्य कर रहे हैं। पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस से लिखवाया, “यदि मैं अब तक मनुष्यों को ही प्रसन्न करता रहता, तो मसीह का दास न होता” (गलातियों 1:10); आप परमेश्वर के वचन की इस चेतावनी के अनुसार कहाँ खड़े हैं?

Building the Church – 14 – On The Lord Jesus Christ – 6

God has given various things to His children, i.e., the Born-Again Christian Believers, for living their Christian lives and worthily fulfilling the work He has assigned to them. Every Christian Believer is also a steward of whatever has been given to him by God; and eventually will have to give an account of it all, to God. One of the privileges given by God to the Believers is to be members of His Church and to fellowship with His other children. To be worthy stewards of this responsibility, we are studying about it from the Word of God, the Bible, through Matthew 16:18, where the word “Church” has been used for the first time in the Bible.

We saw in the previous article that in the statement, “...on this rock I will build My church…” said by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 16:18; there are three very important things. Of the three, the first, that the Lord Himself will build His Church, we considered in the previous article, and had seen that the Lord Himself is gathering together all those who accept Him as the ‘Christ,’ the one and only savior of the world, as one world wide body - His Church. He has not given this responsibility to anyone else, not even to the angels. Neither man nor Satan can bluff the Lord and bring in their people into the Lord’s Church to stay permanently. Only the truly committed and fully surrendered people of the Lord can remain in His Church.

In this sentence of Matthew 16:18, the second thing is that it is the Lord who is the owner of His Church, He addresses it as ‘My Church.’ Not only is the true Church being built solely by the Lord, but also, only He is the sole owner of the Church; not any person or denomination. The Lord has not left the ownership of His Church in anyone else’s hands. We see in the New Testament texts, that the various Churches located in different places, have all been addressed only as “The Church of God” or by some similar phrase (Acts 20:28; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 2 Corinthians 1:1; Galatians 1:13; 1 Timothy 3:5, 15; etc.). In some texts the Church has also been addressed by the name of the place where the people of the Lord were located (Colossians 4:16; 1 Thessalonians 1:1; 2 Thessalonians 1:1; Revelation 2:1; etc.). 

But never, at any place, any Church at any location, has ever been addressed by the name of the Elder of that Church, nor has the name of the apostle or preacher who labored in that place to bring people to the Lord, been given to the Church. In the whole Bible, the Church has never been addressed or shown as belonging to anyone but the Lord; never ever as belonging to any person or organization. When people in the Church tried to make groups or factions amongst themselves based on the name of a preacher, or apostle, or an elder, immediately the Holy Spirit severely rebuked them for doing this, and had the attempts terminated (1 Corinthians 1:12-13). In this example of the Church in Corinth, also take note of the very important fact that the Corinthian Believers were not trying to establish separate Churches after their Elders or leaders. The Church or the Assembly remained the same, the members were only trying to form different groups within that one Church, and apparently had formed them as well (1 Corinthians 11:18-19); but even this was not accepted and tolerated in the Church of the Lord. The attempt at calling and recognizing the Christian Believers by any other person’s name than the Lord’s was immediately curbed and put away in the initial Church congregations.

In Matthew 25, the Lord Jesus has given some parables about His second coming; one of these is in verses 14-30, where a man going to a distant country called his servants and gave them all parts of his wealth, according to their abilities. And on returning he asked for an account from each one, how the servant had used the wealth entrusted to him, and gave them rewards according to their utilizing what had been entrusted to them. Now, take note, the servants were chosen by the owner, and which servant was to be given what, and the time period for which it had been given, were all decided by the owner. Moreover, he gave his wealth only for a limited period of time, he did not disown or give away the ownership of his wealth; and then on returning he took an account from everyone. In accordance with this, it is written regarding the Church of the Lord Jesus in Ephesians 4:11-12 “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” It is very clear that these responsibilities are “appointments” given by the Lord, a work assigned to be done for a certain period of time. They are not inheritances or ownership rights given out by the Lord. Also mentioned here is the purpose for these appointments - for the edification and growth of the Church, and for Christian Ministry.

That is why the Apostles, Paul in Acts 20:28, and Peter in 1 Peter 5:1-4, exhort the Elders of the Church to diligently and very carefully carry out and fulfil their responsibilities. And the author of Hebrews reminds the Elders as well as the congregation that an accounting will be done (Hebrews 13:17). We can read and learn from Matthew 24:45-51, another parable of the Lord related to the second coming of the Lord, what will be the consequences and end of the servant who was careless and negligent about his assigned responsibilities; assuming them to be a kind of ownership instead of a responsibility. Similarly, even in the Old Testament, severe chastisement and punishment has been spoken against the careless and negligent shepherds of God’s people - Israel; Ezekiel 34 is a good example of this. The implication is that the Lord God is the owner of His Church and does not tolerate any interference in His ownership or negligence in fulfilling assigned responsibilities. He takes His ownership very seriously, takes full care and keeps a complete account of it. The Lord appoints His people according to their abilities for the taking care of the functions of His Church, and does not accept or overlook the slightest carelessness. Anyone who is careless towards, and mistreats His people, His Church, will have to pay a heavy price and face serious consequences; such a servant will never escape lightly for his carelessness.

If you are a Christian Believer; especially, if you have been given any Church related responsibilities mentioned in Ephesians 4:11 and 1 Corinthian 12:28, or like them, then it is humble request that you please repeatedly keep reading, and always keep in mind, Ezekiel 34 and Matthew 24:45-51. For the Church Elders it would be good to read these two passages very frequently. Being a Christian Believer, examine yourself, see, and ensure that you are fulfilling your responsibilities diligently to please the Lord, instead of working to please and satisfy some person, Elder, or official; and that you are functioning under the lordship of the Lord Jesus, and not the lordship of a denomination or organization or person. God the Holy Spirit had Paul write about his ministry, “For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10). Where do you stand according to this admonition from the Lord?

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
