पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना – 24

प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा प्रदान किया गया है कि उसमें निवास करे और उसके मसीही जीवन जीने तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई के निर्वाह में उसका सहायक और मार्गदर्शक हो। विश्वासियों को दिये गये परमेश्वर के अन्य प्रावधानों के समान, उन्हें परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा भी दिया गया है कि, परमेश्वर की सन्तान होकर जीवन जीने के लिए उनका सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक हो। जिसे भी परमेश्वर से कुछ भी मिला है, वह उसके लिए परमेश्वर को उत्तरदायी है, इसलिए उन्हें परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए का योग्य भण्डारी होना है। परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, विश्वासियों को इन सभी बातों के बारे में सिखाता है, यदि वे उस से सीखने के लिए तैयार हों; न कि असिद्ध और चूकते रहने वाले मनुष्यों और मनुष्यों की रचनाओं पर निर्भर करें, जिन से विश्वासी के त्रुटियों में पड़ने की संभावना रहती है। 

पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के बारे में सीखते हुए, हम वर्तमान में 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 पर, एक-एक पद कर के विचार कर रहे हैं, और अभी पद 13 को देख रहे हैं। अभी तक हमने इस पद के तीन में से पहले दो वाक्यांशों को देख लिया है। पहले वाक्यांश से हमने सीखा था कि मसीही जीवन की बुनियादी शिक्षा के रूप में, प्रत्येक विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के द्वारा उसे उद्धार के साथ ही मुफ्त दी गई अन्य बातों के बारे में सीखना चाहिए। फिर, दूसरे वाक्यांश से हमने सीखा है कि परमेश्वर के वचन से कुछ भी स्वीकार करते समय पहले हमें वचन से जाँच-परख कर यह सुनिश्चित कर लेना चाहिए कि प्रचार करने और सिखाने वाला चाहे कोई भी हो, वह केवल वही सीखा रहा है जो पवित्र आत्मा कहता है, और उसने अपनी ओर से अपने विचार, बुद्धि, और समझ के अनुसार वचन में कुछ नहीं जोड़ा है। हमने यह भी देखा था कि यह किस तरह से पहचाना जा सकता है कि क्या पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से है, और क्या नहीं है। आज हम यहीं से ज़ारी रखते हुए, तीसरे वाक्यांश को देखेंगे।

इस पद, 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:13, का तीसरा वाक्यांश है “आत्मिक बातें आत्मिक बातों से मिला मिला कर सुनाते हैं।” हम देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर अपने लोगों से अपने चुने हुए किसी प्रतिनिधि में होकर बोलता है; परमेश्वर उस प्रतिनिधि को वह बताता है जो वह अपने लोगों से कहना चाहता है, और फिर उन्हें वह बात परमेश्वर के लोगों तक पहुँचानी होती है। इसीलिए यह अनिवार्य है कि परमेश्वर का प्रतिनिधि अपने शब्द उपयोग न करे, बल्कि परमेश्वर के वास्तविक सन्देश को बताने के लिए, परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिए गए शब्द ही बोले। पौलुस यही बात अपने लिए तथा अपनी सेवकाई के बारे में कहता है, जैसा कि इस पद के दूसरे वाक्यांश “मनुष्यों के ज्ञान की सिखाई हुई बातों में नहीं, परन्तु आत्मा की सिखाई हुई बातों में” में लिखा है। तीसरे वाक्यांश में, इसी पर और खुलासा करते हुए, पौलुस यह करने के एक और पक्ष को उजागर करता है, “आत्मिक बातें आत्मिक बातों से मिला मिला कर सुनाते हैं।” हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर के वचन में जो बातें लिखी गई हैं, वे हमारी शिक्षा के लिए दी गई हैं (रोमियों 15:4; 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:6), ताकि हम किसी गलत शिक्षा में न फँस जाएँ। इसलिए, जब वे लोग जिन्हें वचन की सेवकाई सौंपी गई है, परमेश्वर के वचन और निर्देशों का प्रचार करते और शिक्षा देते हैं, तब उन्हें पौलुस ही के समान, इस बात का ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि कोई भी साँसारिक बात, या मानवीय विचार, बुद्धि, और समझ से उत्पन्न हुई कोई बात, परमेश्वर के वचन में न डाली जाये, जिससे वचन में कोई मिलावट न हो; इससे परमेश्वर के लोगों तक परमेश्वर का वास्तविक वचन ही पहुंचेगा। यह सुनिश्चित करने का एक तरीका है कि वे इधर-उधर की कोई भी बात नहीं, बल्कि “आत्मिक बातें आत्मिक बातों से मिला मिला कर सुनाते हैं” जिस से शैतान को अपनी किसी गलत शिक्षा, गलत व्याख्या, गलत धारणा को घुसा पाने का कोई अवसर अथवा स्थान ही नहीं रहता है। इस से परमेश्वर का वचन और निर्देश शुद्ध ही रहते हैं, उसमें कोई मिलावट नहीं होने पाती है, और परमेश्वर के लोग किसी भ्रष्ट वचन के द्वारा बहकाए, भरमाए नहीं जाते हैं।

यह कोई नया सिद्धान्त नहीं है जिसे नए नियम में ही बताया गया है। यह तब से है, जब से परमेश्वर ने अपने प्रतिनिधियों से, भावी पीढ़ियों के लिए, अपना वचन लिखवाना आरंभ किया। पुराने नियम में परमेश्वर के नबियों ने परमेश्वर के लोगों से बारम्बार कहा कि जिन परिस्थितियों में भी वे हों, उन में सफल और जयवन्त होने के लिए, परमेश्वर के वचन से देखें, और उस वचन का उपयोग करें। 

पुराने नियम के कुछ उदाहरण देखिए:

• मूसा, जिसके द्वारा परमेश्वर ने अपनी आज्ञाएँ और पहली पाँच पुस्तकें दीं, उस ने इस्राएलियों को निर्देश दिया कि हमेशा अपने सम्मुख परमेश्वर के वचन और निर्देशों को लिखित रूप में रखें, उन्हें देखते रहें, याद करते रहें, अपने बच्चों के साथ उन्हें दोहराते रहें (व्यवस्थाविवरण 6 अध्याय), और फिर इस अध्याय की समाप्ति पर कहता है, “और यहोवा ने हमें ये सब विधियां पालने की आज्ञा दी, इसलिये कि हम अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा का भय मानें, और इस रीति सदैव हमारा भला हो, और वह हम को जीवित रखे, जैसा कि आज के दिन है। और यदि हम अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की दृष्टि में उसकी आज्ञा के अनुसार इन सारे नियमों को मानने में चौकसी करें, तो वह हमारे लिये धर्म ठहरेगा” (व्यवस्थाविवरण 6:24-25)।

• यहोशू से, जब वह कनान को जीतने और उसमें इस्राएलियों को बसाने के लिए लेकर जाने की तैयारी कर रहा था, परमेश्वर ने कहा कि उसकी सफलता उसके सैन्य पराक्रम और रणनीति या निपुणता पर निर्भर नहीं होगी, वरन उसके परमेश्वर के वचन के आज्ञाकारी होने पर होगी (यहोशू 1:5-8)।

• इस्राएल का इतिहास, जैसा कि हम न्यायियों की पुस्तक से लेकर नहेम्याह की पुस्तक में देखते हैं, अनेकों उदाहरणों से भरा पड़ा है, कि जब उन्होंने परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन छोड़ दिया तो असफलताओं और पराजय में आ गए, और जब वचन का पालन किया तो सफल और जयवंत रहे।

• यिर्मयाह नबी, जब परमेश्वर ने उसे नियुक्त किया, तब वह एक लड़का ही था। लेकिन परमेश्वर ने उसे आश्वस्त किया कि जब तक वह परमेश्वर के कहे पर, उसके वचन पर बना रहेगा, कोई उसका कुछ नहीं बिगाड़ सकेगा – यिर्मयाह 1 अध्याय देखिए।

हम अगले लेख में इसके तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा सिखाए जाने बारे में और आगे देखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 24

God the Holy Spirit has been given to every Born-Again Christian Believer by God, to reside in him, to help, and to guide him in living his Christian life and fulfilling his God assigned ministry. Along with other provisions from God the Holy Spirit is also given to the Believers, to be their Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide, for living as children of God. Everyone is accountable to God for everything they have received from Him, and therefore they ought to be worthy stewards of God’s provisions. The Holy Spirit teaches the Believers about all this, if they are willing to learn from Him; instead of relying on imperfect and fallible men and their works, which makes the Believers prone to falling into errors. 

In learning about learning from the Holy Spirit, we are presently considering 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, verse by verse; and are in verse 13 now. So far we have considered the first two of its three phrases. From the first phrase we had learnt that as part of their basic teachings of Christian living, every Believer must learn about the things God has freely given them with salvation. Then, from the second phrase we have learnt that in learning from God’s Word about anything, we must first minutely cross-check it from God’s Word to ensure that whoever is preaching and teaching, he is teaching only what the Holy Spirit says, and is not adding anything of his own thoughts, wisdom, and understanding to God’s Word. We also saw how to discern what is from the Holy Spirit, and what is not. Today, we will continue from here and consider the third phrase of verse 13 of this passage.

The third phrase of 1 Corinthians 2:13 is “comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” We have seen that God speaks to His people through some chosen spokesmen of His; God tells the spokesman what He has to say, and they are then to convey God’s message to the others. That is why it is essential that God’s spokesman does not use his own words, but the words given to him by God, to convey God’s actual message to God’s people. That is what Paul says about himself and his ministry, as is written in the second phrase of this verse, “not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches.” In the third phrase, elaborating further on this, Paul elaborates another aspect of doing this, i.e., “comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” We have seen earlier that the various things written in God’s Word have been written for our instruction (Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:6), so that we do not fall into any erroneous teachings. When those entrusted with the ministry of God’s Word, they like Paul must make it a point to preach and teach God’s Word and instructions only through “comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” They must also ensure that nothing worldly, or of human thought, wisdom, and understanding adulterates God’s Word; thereby the people of God will get to learn only God’s actual Word. And, this in turn, will ensure that Satan will have no room or opportunity for bringing in any of his erroneous teachings, misinterpretations, misconceptions, and thereby mislead the people of God through an adulterated word.

This is not a new concept, given only in the New Testament. It is very much in place, since the time God has had His spokespersons write His Word down for posterity. The Old Testament prophets of God repeatedly asked God’s people to refer to and utilize only the Word of God in managing the situations that they faced, to be successful and victorious in them. 

Consider some examples from the Old Testament:

• Moses, through whom God gave His Commandments and the Pentateuch, instructed the Israelites to always keep the written, God given Word and instructions before them, and keep referring to them, recalling them, revising them with their children (Deuteronomy chapter 6), and then concludes the chapter with the statement, “And the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day. Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the Lord our God, as He has commanded us.” (Deuteronomy 6:24-25).

• To Joshua, as he prepared to lead the Israelites into conquering Canaan and settling down in it, God said that his success will not be dependent upon his military expertise, strategy and capabilities, but on his obedience to God’s Word (Joshua 1:5-8).

• The history of Israel, as we see from the book of Judges to the book of Nehemiah, is replete with examples of their failures and defeats when they left following God’s Word, and of success and victories when they turned to God’s Word and obeyed it.

• The prophet Jeremiah, when commissioned by God, was very apprehensive because he was only a youth at that time. But God assured him that so long as he stuck with God’s Word, and spoke it fearlessly, no one would be able to bring him to any harm – see Jeremiah chapter 1.

We will look further into this, and see some more about God’s teaching His people in the next article.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

जैसा हमने पद 13 के पहले वाक्यांश पर विचार करते समय देखा है, पौलुस कहता है कि वह और अन्य, परमेश्वर द्वारा लोगों को दी गई बातों के बारे में सिखाते थे। इस पद के दूसरे वाक्यांश में पौलुस इस शिक्षा के साथ जुड़े हुए एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण पक्ष का भी उल्लेख करता है, जिसका पालन वह और उसके सहकर्मी अपनी सेवकाई में करते थे। इस पद के दूसरे वाक्यांश में पौलुस कहता है, कि वे लोग उन बातों के बारे में “मनुष्यों के ज्ञान की सिखाई हुई बातों में नहीं, परन्तु आत्मा की सिखाई हुई बातों में” होकर सिखाते थे। स्मरण रखिए कि उसके परिवर्तन होने के समय से ही पौलुस का स्वामी परमेश्वर हो गया था, वह परमेश्वर के लिए कार्य करता था, और वह परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई जिम्मेदारियों के निर्वाह के द्वारा परमेश्वर की सेवा करता था। यहाँ पर, यह पत्री उसने परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में लिखी, मसीही विश्वासियों, अर्थात परमेश्वर की सन्तानों के जीवनों में घुस आई गलतियों को सुधारने के लिए लिखी। यहाँ पर वह परमेश्वर द्वारा अपनी सन्तानों को दी गई बातों से संबंधित विषयों को संबोधित कर रहा है, और उसका उद्देश्य है उनके मसीही जीवनों में घुस आई गलतियों को सही करे, उन बातों के बारे में सही शिक्षाओं को उन्हें दे, और उन बातों को परमेश्वर के लिए ठीक से उपयोग कैसे किया जाए। दूसरे शब्दों में, इस बात के साथ संबंधित हर बात में ‘परमेश्वर’ है; इसका तात्पर्य है कि उस से संबंधित शिक्षा और सुधार में भी परमेश्वर ही होना चाहिए; अर्थात, उन्हें किसी भी प्रकार की मानवीय चतुराई अथवा दक्षता एवं बुद्धिमता के द्वारा नहीं सुधारा जाना है, बल्कि जैसे परमेश्वर चाहता है, वैसे किए जाना है। हम इस बात को मत्ती 13:24-30 में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा दिए गए दृष्टान्त के द्वारा समझ सकते हैं। उस दृष्टान्त में शत्रु खेत में जंगली बीज बो कर चला गया था। जब पौधे उगे तब सेवकों ने उन जंगली पौधों को उखाड़ना चाह, परन्तु स्वामी ने मना कर दिया; क्योंकि वह नहीं चाहता था कि अच्छे पौधों को गलती से भी कोई हानि हो। सेवकों और स्वामी के दृष्टिकोण और कार्य-विधि का अन्तर ही वह बात है जिसे पौलुस यहाँ पर ख रहा है।  

पौलुस, उसके परिवर्तन तथा यीशु को अपना प्रभु स्वीकार करने से पहले बहुत पढ़ा-लिखा और ज्ञानवान फरीसी था। वह पवित्र शास्त्र को बहुत अच्छे से जानता था, और उसके विषय चर्चा करने तथा उस से शिक्षा देने के लिए प्रशिक्षित था। इसलिए, ऐसा नहीं था कि वह पवित्र शास्त्र के बारे में अपनी बुद्धि और ज्ञान के द्वारा विश्वासियों को कुछ सिखा नहीं सकता था। लेकिन पौलुस को उदाहरण के समान उपयोग करने के द्वारा, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, उन सभी से जो परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई में लगे हैं, यह कह रहा है कि सब कुछ, यहाँ तक कि बिल्कुल बुनियादी बातें भी, “मनुष्यों के ज्ञान की सिखाई हुई बातों में नहीं, परन्तु आत्मा की सिखाई हुई बातों में” होकर ही दी जानी चाहिएँ। अर्थात, वचन की सेवकाई करने वाले लोगों के द्वारा न केवल विषय और प्रचार की संबंधित सामग्री, वरन किन शब्दों के द्वारा उन्हें कहना है, वह भी उन ही शब्दों के द्वारा होना चाहिए जो पवित्र आत्मा देता है, न कि मनुष्यों की अपनी बुद्धि, विचारों, और समझ के अनुसार। यह करना अनिवार्य है, क्योंकि मनुष्य, यहाँ तक कि परमेश्वर को समर्पित विश्वासी भी, बाइबल के शब्दों को बाइबल के बाहर की रीति से उपयोग कर लेते हैं, जैसा कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं; और इस प्रकार वे परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट कर के उसके सन्देश को व्यर्थ कर देते हैं (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:17)। इस से हमें परमेश्वर के वचन के बारे में पौलुस की सेवकाई के एक और पक्ष को समझने में भी सहायता मिलती है, जो वह 1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6 में कहता है, और जिस के बारे में हम पहले भी देख चुके हैं, कि पौलुस कभी भी जो पवित्र शास्त्र में लिख दिया गया है उस से आगे नहीं बढ़ता था; जैसा कि KJV, NKJV, YLT आदि अंग्रेजी अनुवादों में आया है, अपने विचारों में भी नहीं।

तो अब, हम किस तरह से पहचान सकते हैं कि परमेश्वर के वचन का कोई प्रचारक अथवा शिक्षक, चाहे वह एक प्रतिबद्ध मसीही विश्वासी, एक भक्त जन ही है, कहीं वह वचन का प्रचार करने और शिक्षा देने में अपनी समझ, बुद्धि, और विचारों का तो उपयोग नहीं कर रहा है? क्या वह वास्तव में पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, उसे की सामर्थ्य से “आत्मा की सिखाई हुई बातों में” होकर ही बोल रहा है? यहीं पर आकर पिछले लेख में दोहराई गई बातें सही उत्तर तक पहुँचने में हमारी सहायता करती हैं। जैसा हमने पहले देखा है, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा सत्य का आत्मा है (यूहन्ना 14:17; 15:16; 16:13), इसलिए वह अपने कहे या किए में कभी भी किसी भी ऐसी बात के साथ नहीं जुड़ेगा जो सत्य नहीं है, अर्थात जो बाइबल के अनुसार सही नहीं है। असत्य का एक स्वरूप होता है बाइबल के शब्दों और वाक्यांशों को बाइबल के बाहर के अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ उपयोग करना; अर्थात उन्हें ऐसी बातें कहने और ऐसे अर्थों के साथ उपयोग करना जो उनके विषय बाइबल में नहीं दी गई हैं। दूसरा, हमने देखा है कि पवित्र आत्मा के सिखाने का तरीका है प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा जो कहा गया है उसे स्मरण करवाना (यूहन्ना 14:26), अपनी ओर से कोई नई बात नहीं बोलना, लेकिन केवल उसे ही लेकर बताना जो प्रभु यीशु ने कह रखा है (यूहन्ना 16:13-15)। इसलिए ऐसा कोई भी प्रचार अथवा शिक्षा जो बाइबल का सत्य नहीं है, जो पहले से ही बाइबल में नहीं कहा गया है, वरन बाइबल के लेखों के साथ जोड़ा जा रहा है, ऐसी कोई भी बात जो पहले से लिखे से आगे बढ़ने में आती है, चाहे वह विचारों में ही क्यों न हो, वह पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से नहीं है। यह मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए प्रेरितों 17:11 और 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21, हर बात को पहले परमेश्वर के वचन से जाँच-परख कर देखना और केवल उसी को थामे रहना जो सही है, के कड़ाई से पालन के महत्व को दिखाता है।

जो परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई में लगे हैं, उन्हें इस का ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि वे “मनुष्यों के ज्ञान की सिखाई हुई बातों में नहीं, परन्तु आत्मा की सिखाई हुई बातों में” होकर ही प्रचार करें और सिखाएँ। और जैसा हम पहले देख चुके हैं, यह श्रोताओं, कम से कम कलीसिया के अगुवों, की ज़िम्मेदारी है कि इस से पहले कि प्रचार की गई बात को अपने जीवनों में लागू करने के लिए स्वीकार किया जाए, वे जाँचे और परखें कि प्रचारक के द्वारा इन सिद्धान्तों का पालन हो रहा है कि नहीं (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29)। अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे, और इस पद 13 के तीसरे वाक्यांश के बारे में देखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 23

As promised by the Lord Jesus to His disciples, God the Holy Spirit is given to reside in every Born-Again Christian Believer, from the moment of his salvation. He is given by God to be the Believer’s Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide; to help him live his Christian life and to also fulfil his God assigned ministry. As for the other provisions from God, every Believer must also be a worthy steward of the God given  Holy Spirit too. In other words, to fulfil this responsibility, the Believer should learn about the things that God has given to him, including learning about God the Holy Spirit. As his Teacher, God the Holy Spirit teaches every Believer about all things, including Himself. He does this if the Believer is willing to diligently learn primarily from Him, instead of relying on learning from imperfect and fallible men and men’s works, which renders him prone to learning false teachings and wrong doctrines. 

In this current series we are learning about learning from the Holy Spirit, and have seen various aspects from 1 Peter 2:1-2, and Psalm 25. Presently, we are considering 1 Corinthians 2:12-14; and have seen from verse 12 that Christian Believers must learn about the things that God has freely given to them, as part of their basic learning. We are on verse 13 now, have considered its first phrase, where Paul, by using the plural “we” implies that he and the others teach about these God given things to the Believers, as the basics, the spiritual “milk” of the Christian faith. Before proceeding further, in the previous article we have revised some very important Biblical facts about the Bible, God the Holy Spirit, and learning God’s Word from Him. This was necessary to be able to understand the second phrase of verse 13, which we will consider today.

As we have seen while considering the first phrase of verse 13, Paul says that he and the others, teach about the things that God has freely given to all Believers. In the second phrase of this verse, Paul adds a very important aspect of this teaching, that he and others with him practiced in their ministries. Paul says in the second phrase of this verse that he speaks “not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches.” Remember that Paul, since his conversion, belonged to God, worked for God, served God through fulfilling his God assigned responsibilities. Here, he is writing this letter under the guidance of God the Holy Spirit to help the Believers, the children of God, to correct the errors that have crept into their Christian lives. Here he is addressing issues related to things given by God to His children, to correct them, to bring them around to learning correctly about those things, and how to utilize them for God. In other words, everything related to this matter has ‘God’ in it; which implies that even in the teachings and corrections, God must be there; i.e., it must not be done through any human ingenuity and wisdom, but only as God wants it done. We can understand this from the parable given by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 13:24-30. In that parable, an enemy had sown tares in the field. When the grain sprouted, the tares also appeared, and the servants wanted to pull out the tares. But the owner did not allow them to do so, lest the good plants inadvertently get harmed. The difference in the attitude and method of the owner and the servants is what Paul is pointing out here.

Paul was a very well educated and learned Pharisee before his conversion and accepting Jesus as Lord. He was very well versed in the Scriptures, and was well trained in discussing about them, and teaching from them. So, it was not that he could not have used his wisdom and knowledge of the Scriptures to teach the Believers about things from God’s Word. But by using Paul as an example, God the Holy Spirit is putting across to all those who are engaged in the ministry of God’s Word, that everything, even the basic teachings, must be given “not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches.” Notice that it says here “in words” i.e., not only the matter, the contents of the teachings, but even the words to be used for imparting those teachings must be those which the Holy Spirit gives, and not from the thoughts, understanding, and wisdom of men. It is essential to do this, since men, even the committed Believers of God, are prone to using Biblical words in unBiblical ways, as we have seen earlier, and thereby corrupt God’s Word, render its message ineffective (1 Corinthians 1:17). This also helps us to understand better another aspect of Paul’s ministry of utilizing God’s Word, mentioned in 1 Corinthians 4:6, and one we have considered earlier, that Paul never went beyond what has already been written in the Scriptures, not even in his thinking.

So, how do we recognize whether or not a preacher or teacher of God’s Word, even though he is a committed Believer, a godly person, is using his own thoughts, understanding, and wisdom to preach and teach things? Or is he actually doing this under the guidance and ability given by the Holy Spirit, through words “which the Holy Spirit teaches”? This is where the revision carried out in the previous article helps us reach the answer. As we have seen earlier, God the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13) therefore there will never be anything that is not the truth, i.e., that is not Biblically true, in all that He says and does. One form of “untruth” is using Biblical words and phrases with extra-Biblical meanings and uses; i.e., using them in a manner and to convey meanings and things not used or mentioned in the Bible for them. Secondly, we have seen that the way the Holy Spirit teaches is by reminding about what the Lord has said (John 14:26), and not speaking anything new on His own authority, but taking and declaring what the Lord has said (John 16:13-15). Therefore, any preaching or teaching that is not the Biblical truth, anything that is not already mentioned in the Bible, but is being added to the Biblical text, anything that is going beyond what has already been written, even if it is only in thinking, is not from the Holy Spirit. This underscores for the Believers the absolute necessity of adhering to Acts 17:11 and 1 Thessalonians 5:21, of cross-checking everything from God’s Word and holding on to only that which is true and rejecting the rest.

Those engaged in the ministry of God’s Word must make it a point to preach and teach “not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches.” And, as seen earlier, it is the responsibility of the audience, at least the Church elders amongst the audience, to see that these principles are being followed (1 Corinthians 14:29) by the speaker, before permitting the congregation to accept that which has been preached and taught for application in their lives. In the next article, we will carry on to consider about the third phrase of verse 13.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उसके उद्धार पाने के पल से ही परमेश्वर के द्वारा स्वतः ही दे दिया जाता है। उसके बाद से वह उसका सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक बनकर मसीही विश्वासी में आजीवन निवास करता है। पवित्र आत्मा मसीही विश्वासी के मसीही जीवन जीने और परमेश्वर के द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई का निर्वाह करने में, उस की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करता है, ताकि विश्वासी उसका एक योग्य भण्डारी हो सके। विश्वासी का शिक्षक होने के नाते, अन्य बातों के अतिरिक्त, पवित्र आत्मा मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर का वचन भी सिखाता है, यदि विश्वासी उस से सीखने के लिए तैयार हो, तो। दुर्भाग्यवश, बहुतेरे विश्वासी परमेश्वर का वचन सीखने के लिए पवित्र आत्मा की बजाए, मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं पर अधिक निर्भर करते हैं - बिना परमेश्वर के वचन से उन बातों और शिक्षाओं को बारीकी से जाँचे-परखे, बिना उन की पुष्टि किए, उन्हें मान लेते हैं। और क्योंकि कोई भी मनुष्य सिद्ध नहीं है, सभी से चूक होती है, इसीलिए लोग मनुष्यों से बहुत सी गलत बातें भी सीख लेते हैं। 

हम पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के बारे में सीख रहे हैं, और इस विषय की विभिन्न बातों को हमने 1 पतरस 2:1-2, फिर भजन 25, से देखा है, और अब 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 से देख रहे हैं। इस खण्ड के पद 12 पर विचार करने के बाद, पिछले लेख से हमने पद 13 को देखना आरंभ किया है। हमने पिछले लेख में इस पद के पहले वाक्यांश से देखा था कि परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दी गई बातों के बारे में सीखना प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी की ज़िम्मेदारी है। यह सीखना, विश्वासियों के लिए एक बुनियादी शिक्षा की बात है, क्योंकि उन्हें परमेश्वर के उन प्रावधानों का योग्य भण्डारी बनकर उन को उपयोग करना है। पिछले लेख में हम ने जहाँ छोड़ा था, उस से आगे पद 13 में दी गई बातों तथा अन्य स्थानों पर दी गई सम्बन्धित बातों को समझने के लिए यह जानना और समझना अनिवार्य है कि परमेश्वर अपने लोगों से किस प्रकार बोलता है और उसका व्यावहारिक उपयोग क्या है।

सम्पूर्ण पवित्र शास्त्र में, परमेश्वर अपने लोगों से अपने प्रतिनिधियों में होकर बोलता रहा है। परमेश्वर अपने चुने हुए लोगों, जैसे कि भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और प्रेरितों से विभिन्न तरीकों से बात करता था, और फिर वे लोग परमेश्वर की बात को परमेश्वर के लोगों तक पहुँचाते थे; मौखिक, तथा लिखित, दोनों ही प्रकार से। इन में से कुछ लिखित संदेश पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा और मार्गदर्शन से संकलित कर के पवित्र शास्त्र के रूप में रखे गए हैं। यह पवित्र शास्त्र एक अपरिवर्तनीय, सदा काल के लिए स्थापित, अटल, माप-दण्ड है, जिस से किसी भी मनुष्य के द्वारा कही गई भी बात की, परमेश्वर द्वारा कही गई बात के साथ तुलना के द्वारा, जाँच-परख कर के जाँचा जा सकता है। प्रभु यीशु के आगमन से पहले के संदेशों के संकलन को यहूदियों का पवित्र शास्त्र कहा जाता था, जो आज हमारी बाइबलों का पुराना नियम है। प्रभु यीशु के आगमन के बाद प्रेरितों तथा परमेश्वर के अन्य लोगों के संदेशों के संकलन को नया नियम कहते हैं, और नया तथा पुराना नियम साथ मिलकर बाइबल बनाते हैं। इन बातों को जानना और ध्यान में रखना बहुत आवश्यक है, यह समझने के लिए कि पवित्र आत्मा किस तरह से विश्वासियों को वचन सिखाता है, और शैतान किस रीति से झूठी शिक्षाएँ ले आता है।

परमेश्वर ने पहले कुछ लोगों को चुनकर पृथक किया, कि उनके द्वारा अपने लोगों तक अपने संदेश पहुँचाए (इफिसियों 4:11-12), और फिर पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा से, इन नबियों, प्रेरितों, और अन्य लोगों में होकर दिए गए अपने संदेशों को लिखवाया भी (2 पतरस 1:21; 2 तीमुथियुस 3:16)। प्रभु यीशु के, तथा उन चुने हुए लोगों के द्वारा दिए गए ये निर्देश और शिक्षाएँ (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:11; इफिसियों 2:20) हमें बाइबल के रूप में, हमारी शिक्षा के लिए दी गई हैं (रोमियों 15:4; 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:6)। ये ही वह अचूक, अटल, अपरिवर्तनीय, कभी गलत ने होने वाले, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्ग में स्थापित (भजन 119:89) परमेश्वर का वचन, बाइबल है। परमेश्वर मनुष्यों से जो भी कहना चाहता है, मनुष्य के जीवन, उद्धार, परमेश्वर के साथ संगति, परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी होने, और परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने से संबंधित जो भी बात है, वह परमेश्वर ने अपने इस वचन में मनुष्यों को दे दी है (2 पतरस 1:3)। 

बाइबल सम्पूर्ण है; उसमें कुछ नहीं जोड़ा जा सकता है, उसमें से कुछ हटाया नहीं जा सकता है, उसमें लिखे को ‘सुधारा’ या “और सुन्दर” नहीं किया जा सकता है, और उससे संबंधित कोई नए प्रकटीकरण नहीं होंगे। अब, परमेश्वर अपने लोगों को जो कुछ भी सिखाता है, वह परमेश्वर द्वारा बाइबल में कही और दी गई बातों के अन्तर्गत ही होता है, किसी भी रीति से उसके बाहर कदापि नहीं; क्योंकि इसका तात्पर्य होगा कि उस से पहले वाला संस्करण पूर्ण और सिद्ध नहीं था; उसमें कुछ त्रुटियाँ थीं। इसीलिए परमेश्वर ने उसके वचन में कुछ भी जोड़ने या घटाने को वर्जित किया है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19); तथा प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने पवित्र आत्मा के सेवकाई के लिए कहा है कि पवित्र आत्मा जो पहले से कह दिया गया है, उसे ही स्मरण करवाएगा (यूहन्ना 14:26) और वह अपनी ओर से कुछ भी नया नहीं कहेगा, परन्तु प्रभु द्वारा कहे हुए में से लेकर शिष्यों को बताएगा (यूहन्ना 16:13-15), और इस तरह से उन का समस्त सत्य में मार्गदर्शन करेगा।

इसलिए ऐसी कोई भी बात जो पवित्र शास्त्र में पहले से ही नहीं कही गई है, वह परमेश्वर की ओर से नहीं हो सकती है, बाइबल से नहीं हो सकती है, बाइबल का सत्य नहीं हो सकती है, वह चाहे कितनी भी आकर्षक, तर्कसंगत, भक्तिपूर्ण तथा श्रद्धापूर्ण क्यों न प्रतीत हो। किसी भी नई बात अथवा शिक्षा के परमेश्वर अथवा पवित्र आत्मा से प्राप्त होने के दावे, सिवाए झूठ के और कुछ नहीं हो सकते हैं, और प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उन्हें, शैतानी होने के कारण, तुरन्त ही अस्वीकार कर देना चाहिए (गलातियों 1:7-9)। जैसा हमने पहले, जब हम विश्वासियों के परमेश्वर के वचन के भण्डारी होने के बारे में देख रहे थे तब, देखा था, शैतान द्वारा बहुधा उपयोग की जाने वाली एक और युक्ति है कि लोगों द्वारा, परमेश्वर के प्रति समर्पित विश्वासियों के द्वारा भी, बाइबल से शब्द और वाक्यांश लेकर, उन्हें उस अभिप्राय और तरीके से उपयोग करना, जैसा उनके विषय बाइबल में नहीं लिखा और दिया गया है, और न ही उस अर्थ या अभिप्राय के साथ कभी उपयोग किया गया है। दूसरे शब्दों में, शैतान परमेश्वर के लोगों को वचन में लिखे हुए से आगे बढ़ा देता है, और इस तरह से पवित्र शास्त्र का झूठी शिक्षाओं और गलत सिद्धान्तों के प्रचार और प्रसार के लिए दुरुपयोग करवाता है, चाहे वह अनजाने में और भक्ति तथा श्रद्धा की गलतफहमी में फँसा कर ही क्यों न करवाए।

प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि वह बाइबल के इन तथ्यों पर विचार और मनन करे तथा उन्हें अपने अन्दर स्थापित कर ले; अन्यथा शैतान उन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन की गलत व्याख्या और दुरुपयोग करने की ओर बहका देगा। अगले लेख में, 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:13 के अगले वाक्यांश को देखने और यह समझने के लिए कि पौलुस में होकर पवित्र आत्मा हमें क्या सिखाना चाहता है, हम बाइबल से संबंधित इन सिद्धान्तों का उपयोग करेंगे।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 22

God the Holy Spirit is automatically given to every Christian Believer by God, at the moment of his salvation. From then on, He resides lifelong in the Believer to be his Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide. The Holy Spirit helps the Believer in living his Christian life and fulfil his God assigned ministry, so that the Believer can be a worthy steward of the Holy Spirit. As the Believer’s Teacher, the Holy Spirit, besides other things, teaches God’s Word to him, provided the Believer is willing to learn from Him. Unfortunately, many Believers, instead of the Holy Spirit, tend to rely on men and their works to learn God’s Word - without first minutely cross-checking and affirming them from God’s Word, they believe and accept them. Since no man is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes, therefore often people learn incorrect things from men. 

We have been learning about learning from the Holy Spirit, and have seen various aspects of this from 1 Peter 2:1-2, then from Psalm 25, and now are learning from 1 Corinthians 2:12-14. Having considered verse 12, since the last article, we have started to consider verse 13 of this passage. In the last article we have seen from the first phrase of this verse that it is every Christian Believer’s responsibility to learn about the things that God has freely given to him. This learning is a basic requirement for the Believers, since they have to use the God given provisions in their Christian lives and ministry, to be their worthy stewards. Before carrying on from where we left, and see further about the Believer having to learn about God’s provisions, today we will first see how God speaks to His people and its practical application. It is essential to be clear about this for the further understanding of things mentioned in verse 13 and other places.

Throughout the Scriptures, God’s method of speaking to His people is through His spokesmen. God would speak to His chosen people, e.g., the Prophets and the Apostles in various ways, and they would then convey God’s messages to God’s people; orally, as well as in the written form. Some of these written messages have been compiled together under the guidance of the Holy Spirit as the Scriptures. The Scriptures are a standard, unalterable, permanently established reference for cross-checking and evaluating everything said and taught by any person; by comparing man’s words with what God has said about that and its related thing. Before the coming of the Lord Jesus, the earlier God given messages had been compiled together as the Hebrew Scriptures, which we have as the Old Testament in our Bibles. The writings of the Apostles and other messengers of God after the coming of the Lord Jesus are the New Testament writings, and together, the Old and New Testaments form the Bible. It is very essential to know and keep in mind these concepts, to understand how the Holy Spirit teaches God’s Word to the Believers, and how Satan brings in false teachings.

God first chose and set apart certain people to convey His messages to His people (Ephesians 4:11-12), and then through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, had these Prophets, Apostles, and others write down the messages that God had given through these chosen persons (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16). These instructions and teachings of the Lord, and those conveyed through the chosen people (1 Corinthians 3:11; Ephesians 2:20) have been given to us as the Bible for our learning (Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:6). They form the incontrovertible, irrevocable, infallible, inerrant, eternal Word of God, forever settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89), God’s Word the Bible. Anything and everything that God wanted to convey to man, everything required for man’s life, salvation, fellowshipping with God, functioning for God, and for pleasing God, has been given by God to mankind in this Word (2 Peter 1:3). 

The Bible is complete; there can be no additions to it, no subtractions from it, no modifications or “beautification” of its contents, and there can be no newer revelations about it; else it will imply that the earlier version was imperfect, and had some errors or short-comings in it. Now, everything that God teaches His people, always falls within what has already been spoken and given in the Bible; never outside it. Therefore, God has forbidden any additions or subtractions to His Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19); and the Lord Jesus said for the ministry of the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit will remind of what has already been spoken (John 14:26) and He will not say any new thing on His own authority, but will take from what he Lord has already spoken and declare them to the Lord’s disciples (John 16:13-15), and thereby guide them into all truth.

Therefore, anything that is not already stated in the Scriptures, cannot be from God, cannot be Biblical and Biblically true; no matter how appealing, logical, pious, and reverential it may appear. Any claims of any new revelations or teachings from God, or given by the Holy Spirit cannot be anything but false, and every Christian Believer should reject them outright, as being from Satan (Galatians 1:7-9). As we have seen earlier, while considering stewardship of God’s Word, another very common ploy that Satan uses is to get people, even God’s committed Believers, to take words and phrases from the Bible, but use them in a manner and with meanings not given about them in the Bible, nor have they ever been used anywhere in the Bible in that manner or with that implication. In other words, Satan makes God’s people go beyond what has been written in the Scriptures about those words and phrases, and misuses the Scriptures to spread false teachings and wrong doctrines, even though seemingly inadvertently and under the misunderstanding of being pious and reverential.

It is absolutely essential for every Christian Believer to ponder over these Biblical facts and have them firmly established in themselves; else they will be misled by Satan to misuse and misinterpret God’s Word. In the next article, while considering the next phrase of 1 Corinthians 2:13, we will utilize these Biblical principles to understand what God the Holy Spirit is saying to us through Paul.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में पौलुस प्रेरित ने लिखा है “जिन को हम मनुष्यों के ज्ञान की सिखाई हुई बातों में नहीं, परन्तु आत्मा की सिखाई हुई बातों में, आत्मिक बातें आत्मिक बातों से मिला मिला कर सुनाते हैं।” इस पद का आरंभिक वाक्यांश “जिन को हम ” में प्रयुक्त “जिन”, पद 12 के संदर्भ में प्रकट है कि “उन बातों को जानें, जो परमेश्वर ने हमें दी हैं” के लिए है। यहाँ पर ध्यान दीजिए कि पौलुस बहुवचन सर्वनाम “हम” लिखता है, न कि अपेक्षित एकवचन सर्वनाम “मैं”। यह इस बात का संकेत करता है कि पौलुस और उसकी सेवकाई में उसके सहकर्मी भी, सभी अपनी सेवकाई में पवित्र आत्मा के इस निर्देश का पालन करते थे; और यह पौलुस का कोई व्यक्तिगत विचार या कार्य-शैली मात्र नहीं था। अर्थात, पौलुस कह रहा है कि पद 12 का “उन बातों को जानें, जो परमेश्वर ने हमें दी हैं” वे बातें उसके तथा उसके साथियों के प्रचार और शिक्षाओं की सामग्री थीं। क्योंकि यह हमारी भी शिक्षा और उपयोग के लिए, अनन्त काल के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखवाया गया है, इसलिए इसे निःसंकोच विश्वासियों के लिए पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने का एक तरीका स्वीकार किया जाना चाहिए – सभी विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर के द्वारा उन्हें दी गई बातों के बारे में सीखना है।

    लेकिन हम पौलुस, तथा पवित्र शास्त्र के अन्य लेखकों के लेखों से जानते हैं कि परमेश्वर के वचन में विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई बातों के अतिरिक्त भी और बहुतेरे विषय लिए और सिखाए गए हैं। न तो पौलुस ने और न ही उसके साथियों ने अपने आप को केवल परमेश्वर द्वारा विश्वासियों को दी गई बातों के बारे में सिखाने तक ही सीमित रखा है। और परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने उन सभी को कई अन्य बातों के बारे में भी लिखने के लिए प्रेरणा दी है। इसलिए दावे के साथ यह बात कहना, न तो इस पद की गलत व्याख्या है, और न ही पवित्र शास्त्र में दिए गए अन्य विषयों के संदर्भ में कोई विरोधाभास है।

    ऐसी परिस्थितियों में सामान्यतः हमारे मनों में आने वाले विचार के विपरीत, ध्यान कीजिए कि यहाँ पर पौलुस ने न तो यह कहा है और न ही यह अभिप्राय दिया है कि “हम केवल इन बातों के ही बारे में बोलेंगे।” ध्यान कीजिए, पौलुस ने यह पत्री कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली को उनकी गलतियाँ और अनुचित व्यवहार को सुधारने के लिए लिखी थी। जैसा कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं, पौलुस ने इस बात पर बल दिया है कि कुरिन्थुस के विश्वासी साँसारिक, अपरिपक्व, और बच्चों के समान व्यवहार करने वाले थे, और इसलिए वह उन्हें केवल “दूध” ही दे सका “अन्न” या ठोस भोजन नहीं (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-3), क्योंकि वे न तो उसे ग्रहण कर सकते थे और न ही पचा सकते थे। दूसरे शब्दों में, पवित्र शास्त्र में “अन्न” या ठोस भोजन के बारे में भी दिया गया है, किन्तु इन कुरिन्थियों को केवल “दूध” ही दिया जा सकता था। पौलुस और उसके साथियों के द्वारा, परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें दी गई बातों के बारे में जो शिक्षाएँ दी गई हैं, तात्पर्य यही है कि वे उस “दूध” का ही एक भाग हैं जो पौलुस उन्हें दे रहा था; ये उस “अन्न” या ठोस भोजन का भाग नहीं हैं जो बाद में आना था, जब वे परिपक्व हो जाते और साँसारिक नहीं रहते।

    इसलिए हमारे लिए शिक्षा यह है कि परमेश्वर ने जो बातें मसीही विश्वासियों को उनके उद्धार पाने के पल में दी हैं, उनके बारे में सीखना मसीही विश्वासियों की बुनियादी या आरंभिक शिक्षाओं का भाग हैं; किन्तु इस से यह नहीं समझना चाहिए कि विश्वासियों को केवल उन्हें ही सीखना है। ये तो मूल बातों का एक भाग हैं, और उन्नत बातें आगे आएंगी जब विश्वासी आत्मिक जीवन में परिपक्व होंगे। इसलिए यहाँ पर पद 13 के इस आरंभिक वाक्यांश को समझने में न तो कोई गलत व्याख्या है, और न ही अन्य पवित्र शास्त्र के साथ कोई विरोधाभास है। अगले लेख में हम इस से और आगे देखेंगे।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 21

 

    In the previous article we have seen that Christian Believers are the stewards of the Holy Spirit. He resides in them since the moment of their salvation; and He teaches them all about the things and provisions freely given to them by God. God the Holy Spirit has been given to them to be their Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide in living their Christian lives and fulfilling their God given ministry; and as their Teacher, to teach them about all things. We are presently considering 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 to learn how we can learn from the Holy Spirit. In the previous two articles we have considered verse 12, and in the last article the first thing that we saw was that it is expected of the Christian Believer that he will learn about all that God has given to him, including learning about the Holy Spirit, to worthily utilize God’s gifts. The second thing we saw from verse 12 was that no worldly or human spirit can ever make known to the Believers about the things given to them by God. Therefore, it is not only futile for Believers to try and learn primarily from anyone but the Holy Spirit about them, but doing so is also disbelieving God’s Word. The third thing we learnt from verse 12 was that ignoring the ministry of the Holy Spirit and primarily going after learning from men and their works, is demeaning the Holy Spirit, insulting God, being disobedient to Him. We had also seen that God has not forbidden learning from men; rather He has asked His reverent, honest, and committed people to teach others, and asked others to learn from such people. But since all men are fallible, none is perfect, therefore, God has commanded never to have a blind-faith on any man. Everything that man says and teaches must first be minutely cross-checked using God’s Word, and should only be accepted if it is found fully consistent with the Word. From today we will take up verse 13 of this passage and learn further about learning from the Holy Spirit.

    The Apostle Paul under the guidance of the Holy Spirit says in verse 13, “These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” The first phrase of this verse is “These things we also speak” and from the context of verse 12, it is apparent that the “These things” that Paul is mentioning are “the things that have been freely given to us by God” of verse 12. Notice that in this first phrase of verse 13 Paul uses the pronoun “we” i.e., plural, instead of the expected singular “I”. This indicates that Paul and his companions in ministry, they all followed this guidance of the Holy Spirit in their ministry; and this was not just Paul’s personal opinion or way of doing things. So, what Paul is saying is that “the things that have been freely given to us by God” of verse 12, those things formed the contents of the preaching and teaching he and his companions used to do. Since this has been recorded in God’s Word for all times, for our learning and utilization as well, therefore, it can safely be accepted as a method that God the Holy Spirit wants followed – the Believers must learn about what God has freely given to them.

    But we also see from Paul’s writings, and those of the other authors of the Scriptures, that there is a very wide range of subjects covered and taught in God’s Word, over and above about the things that God has freely given to the Believers. Neither Paul, nor his companions and the others have restricted themselves to preaching and teaching just those things given by God to the Believers. And God the Holy Spirit has inspired them all to write about the other things as well. Therefore, this assertion is neither a misinterpretation of this first phrase of verse 13, nor a contradiction in view of the other topics taught in the Scriptures.

    Quite unlike the thought that commonly comes to our minds in such situations, Paul neither says nor implies that “we only speak about these things.” Remember, Paul has written this letter to the Corinthians Church to correct their errors and wrong practices. As we have seen earlier, Paul emphasizes in this letter that the Corinthian Believers were carnal, immature, and child-like, and therefore he could only give them “milk” and could not give them “sold food” (1 Corinthians 3:1-3), since they were incapable of receiving and digesting it. In other words, in the Scriptures, “solid food” has also been written about, but these Corinthians Believers could only be fed the “milk.” Paul and his companion’s teaching to them about the things that God has given to them, therefore implies that these things comprised a part of that “milk” that Paul was feeding them; it was not a part of the “solid food” that would come later, once they matured and were not carnal anymore.

    Therefore, the lesson for us is that learning about all that God has given to the Christian Believers at the moment of their salvation, is part of the basic teachings that every Christian Believer should learn; but this must not be taken to mean that these are the only things that they have to learn. These are just a part of the basics; the advanced will follow as they grow spiritually. So, there is neither a misinterpretation nor a contradiction here in understanding this first phrase. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
