परमेश्वर के वचन का भण्डारी होने की ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह में चूक करवाने के लिए शैतान ने मसीही विश्वासियों के विरुद्ध जो युक्तियाँ बनाई हैं, पिछले कुछ लेखों में हमने उन में से तीन को देखा है। ये तीन थीं: पहली, लोगों को इस लालच में डालकर बहकाना कि यदि वे उसके कहे के अनुसार करेंगे तो बहुत लाभ पाएँगे, किन्तु वास्तविक दुष्परिणामों से अनभिज्ञ रखना; दूसरी, परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के प्रमुख लोगों तथा अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि को भरमा कर उनसे बाइबल के लेखों को, उनकी अपनी समझ के अनुसार, बाइबल में दिये गये अर्थों और अभिप्रायों से भिन्न, या विपरीत अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ दुरुपयोग करवाना; और तीसरा, मनुष्य की इस प्रवृत्ति का कि जो आकर्षक और रोचक दिखता है, तर्कपूर्ण होता है उसको स्वीकार करना और उसका पालन करना, परमेश्वर के निर्देशों के अनुसार नहीं बल्कि अपनी ही समझ और बुद्धि के अनुसार कार्य करना; इनके द्वारा शैतान विश्वासियों से भी परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता करवाता रहता है।

 

हमने एक चौथी बात भी देखी थी जो हर तरह के ईसाइयों या मसीहियों में सामान्यतः और सार्वजनिक रीति से पाई जाती है, एक बहुत हानिकारक आदत जो शैतान के लिए अपनी न केवल उपरोक्त तीनों युक्तियों को, वरन उसकी अन्य हर एक युक्ति को भी, सफलता से लागू करने में बहुत सहायक रहती है। यह हानिकारक आदत है परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से दूर रहना, या फिर बहुत हुआ तो थोड़ा सा समय निकालकर या तो उसे हलके में बस यूं ही पढ़ अथवा सुन लेना, या फिर लापरवाही से अथवा एक औपचारिकता निभाने के लिए यह करना। जबकि लोगों का मुख्य समय और उद्यम सँसार की बातों और कार्यों के लिए होता है, उन बातों के लिए जो अन्ततः नष्ट होने ही वाली हैं। और इसीलिए लोग तथा विश्वासी शैतान की युक्तियों में सरलता से फंसते और गिरते रहते हैं, शैतान को उन्हें बहका कर हानि और नाश में ले जाने में कोई दिक्कत नहीं होती है (यशायाह 5:13; होशे 4:6)। बहुत ही कम ऐसे मसीही होते हैं जो अपने जीवनों में परमेश्वर के वचन को उसकी उचित प्राथमिकता, प्रधानता, और आज्ञाकारिता देते हैं।

मसीहियत में, शैतान ने उपरोक्त तीनों युक्तियों का बहुत सफल उपयोग किया है, और करता चला आ रहा है। ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि अधिकांश मसीहियों में न तो यह क्षमता है, और न ही यह परवाह है कि उन्हें जो सुनाया और सिखाया जाता है उसमें सत्य और असत्य में भिन्नता को कर सकें या पहचान सकें। परमेश्वर के वचन का दुरुपयोग, अर्थात्, शैतान बाइबल के लेखों का ही, बाइबल के विपरीत उपयोग, बहुत चतुराई और चालाकी से करवाता है। वह बड़े चुपके से, लोगों को इस बात का एहसास भी न होने देते हुए कि उन्हें गलती के लिए उपयोग किया जा रहा है, परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के प्रमुख लोगों तथा अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि को भरमा कर उनसे बाइबल के लेखों को, बाइबल में ही दिये गये उनके अर्थों और अभिप्रायों से असंगत या विपरीत अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ प्रस्तुत करवाता है। आइए देखते हैं कि शैतान किस तरह से परमेश्वर के इन भक्त लोगों को ही परमेश्वर के लोगों को उनके उद्धार के बारे में बहकाने और भरमाने, तथा उद्धार के जीवन को जीने के लिए उन्हें परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह पर भरोसा रखने की बजाए उनके अपने ही कर्मों पर भरोसा रखने के व्यर्थ जाल में फँसा लेता है।

मसीहियों में परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सही होने, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने, और इस पार्थिव जीवन की समाप्ति पर परमेश्वर के साथ स्वर्ग में होने के बारे में दो बहुत प्रचलित, और सामान्य किन्तु बहुत गलत धारणाएँ व्याप्त हैं। एक है कि यह भले होने तथा भले काम करने के द्वारा किया जा सकता है; और दूसरी है कि यदि व्यक्ति भले होने तथा भले काम करने के द्वारा धार्मिकता की जीवन-शैली बनाकर नहीं रखे, तो वह अपने इस विशेषाधिकार को, जो उसने प्राप्त किया है, खो देगा। यह बहुत दुर्भाग्य की बात है कि इन दोनों गलत, बाइबल के विपरीत धारणाओं की कलीसिया, मण्डली, तथा मसीहियों में उपस्थिति होने, उनके बने रहने, प्रसार होते रहने में, अनजाने में अथवा जान बूझकर, परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के प्रमुख लोगों तथा अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि का बहुत प्रमुख और महत्वपूर्ण योगदान है। इसे लागू करने की शैतान की युक्ति को समझने के लिए, हम पहले बहुत संक्षेप में, यह देख और समझ लेते हैं कि बचाए जाने, नया-जन्म या उद्धार पाने, मसीही विश्वासी होने का क्या अर्थ और अभिप्राय है। यह अपने आप में एक सम्पूर्ण विषय है, लेकिन बहुत संक्षेप में, इस से संबंधित प्रासंगिक बाइबल की शिक्षाएँ हैं:

• वास्तव में प्रभु यीशु का शिष्य ही एक सच्चा मसीही होता है (मत्ती 28:19-20; प्रेरितों 11:26)।

• बाइबल के अनुसार मसीहियत न तो कभी कोई धर्म थी, और न है, बल्कि यह हमेशा से ही प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास का जीवन जीना, उसे अपना जीवन समर्पण करना, और उस ही का अनुसरण करना रही है। जो प्रभु यीशु का अनुसरण करते थे, मसीहियत के आरम्भ में, उन्हें “पन्थ / मार्ग के लोग” कहा जाता था (प्रेरितों 9:2; 19:23; 22:4; 24:14, 22)।

• मसीही विश्वास कभी भी वंशागत नहीं होता है; कभी भी, कोई भी, स्वाभाविक जन्म से “मसीही” नहीं होता है। हर किसी को, उन्हें भी जो बहुत धार्मिक हैं तथा पवित्र शास्त्र के बहुत ज्ञाता हैं, जैसे कि निकुदेमुस, को भी परमेश्वर का राज्य देखने और उस में प्रवेश करने के लिए नया जन्म प्राप्त करना अनिवार्य है (यूहन्ना 3:3, 5, 7)। बाइबल के अनुसार यह और किसी भी तरीके से संभव नहीं है; किन्हीं रीतियों, परम्पराओं, नियमों, या पर्वों को मानने अथवा मनाने से भी नहीं। नया जन्म पाने के अतिरिक्त परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश के लिए और कोई मार्ग नहीं है।

• यह नया जन्म प्राप्त करना केवल विश्वास ही के द्वारा है न कि किसी प्रकार के कर्मों के द्वारा। यह केवल पापों के पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर विश्वास करने से परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह के द्वारा होता है, कर्मों से नहीं (रोमियों 10:8-10; इफिसियों 2:5, 8-9)।

• कलीसिया ऐसे लोगों का एक समूह है “जो मसीह यीशु में पवित्र किए गए, और पवित्र होने के लिये बुलाए गए हैं; और उन सब के नाम भी जो हर जगह हमारे और अपने प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम की प्रार्थना करते हैं” (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:2)। अर्थात्, कलीसिया कोई डिनॉमिनेशन, या मत नहीं है, और न ही ऐसे लोगों का समूह है जो कुछ नियमों, रीतियों, और परंपराओं का निर्वाह करते हैं; बल्कि उन लोगों का जो प्रभु यीशु मसीह के प्रति पूर्णतः समर्पित और प्रतिबद्ध हैं।

• यह वास्तविक और बाइबल के अनुरूप कलीसिया एक ही है, सार्वभौमिक है, सारे सँसार भर और अपने इतिहास में एकमात्र है, और इसे ही ‘प्रभु की देह’ तथा ‘प्रभु की दुल्हन’ कहा गया है (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:12, 27; इफिसियों 5:23, 29-30)। प्रत्येक नया जन्म पाया हुआ विश्वासी व्यक्तिगत रीति प्रभु की इसी देह का एक सदस्य है।

• केवल यही एकमात्र, सार्वभौमिक, विश्वव्यापी कलीसिया ही सँसार से स्वर्ग को उठाई जाएगी, अनंतकाल के लिए प्रभु परमेश्वर यीशु मसीह के साथ रहने के लिए। इसीलिए, हर एक के लिए जो बात सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है, वह है कि क्या वह इस वास्तविक कलीसिया का सदस्य है अथवा नहीं? इससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता है कि कौन व्यक्ति किस डिनॉमिनेशन या मत का सदस्य है, कितनी पीढ़ियों से है, और कितने समय से है। महत्व केवल इस बात का है कि क्या आप ने नया जन्म पाया है और प्रभु की इस देह, इस दुल्हन, इस विश्वव्यापी कलीसिया के सदस्य बन गए हैं या नहीं!

 

शैतान बाइबल के इन तथ्यों का किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के प्रमुख लोगों तथा अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि के द्वारा गलत व्याख्या करवाता है, उनका दुरुपयोग करता है, ताकि लोग परमेश्वर के सच्चे और खरे भरमाए और भटकाए जा सकें, इसे हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे।

   

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

In considering the strategies of Satan to make a Christian Believer falter in his stewardship towards God’s Word the Bible, in the previous article, we had seen about three of the various strategies that Satan has devised against the Christian Believers. These three were: first, enticing people through promising them great benefits by doing what he says, but hiding the actual harmful consequences; second, induce God’s committed Believers, Church leaders and elders, Bible preachers and teachers, etc., into misusing the Bible texts by giving them unBiblical meanings and implications, according to their own understanding; and third, Satan takes help of the human tendency of falling for something that seems appealing and logical; and makes Believers disobey God, by making them trust more on their own thinking and logic, than on obeying God’s instructions.

We had also seen a fourth thing, a very strong habit that is universally and uniformly rampant amongst all varieties of Christians. This habit helps Satan immensely in implementing not only these three, but all of his other strategies as well. This pernicious habit very commonly seen amongst Christians is of either staying away from God’s Word the Bible, or at the most giving it only a little time of a casual reading or merely listening, perfunctorily, or as a formality. While people’s main priority for their time and efforts are the things and works of the world, that will soon perish anyway; and therefore, they remain gullible to Satan’s ploys. Therefore, it is not surprising at all that Satan can so easily misguide and mislead most Christians into loss and destruction (Isaiah 5:13; Hosea 4:6). Rare are the Christians who give God’s Word its due priority, prominence, and obedience in their lives.

In Christendom, Satan has very successfully employed the three above-mentioned strategies, and continues to do so. This is because most Christians have neither the ability, nor the care or concern to discern the truth from the untruths in what is preached and taught to them. Satan very cleverly and subtly misuses God’s committed Believers, Church leaders and elders, Bible preachers and teachers, etc. to preach and teach God’s Word, i.e., by using the Biblical texts and facts, in a Biblically unintended manner, in a wrong and extra-Biblical way, without their even realizing they are being misused by Satan for his purposes. Let us see how he gets these godly people to misguide God’s people about their salvation, and thereby entangle them in vain efforts of relying upon their works rather than God’s grace regarding living their life of salvation.

There are two very common but very wrong notions amongst the Christians regarding being right with God, being acceptable to God, and being qualified to be in heaven with God after one’s temporal life on earth comes to an end. One is that this can be achieved by being good and doing good works; the second is that if a person does not maintain a righteous life through being good and doing good, he will lose this privilege, this special status that he has attained. Very unfortunately, for the presence, continuation, and propagation of these false, unBiblical notions in the Churches or Assemblies, knowingly or unknowingly, God’s committed Believers, Church leaders and elders, Bible preachers and teachers, etc. have a major role to play. To understand Satan’s manipulation in implementing this, let us first understand, very briefly, what it means and implies to be saved, or Born-Again, or have salvation, and be a Christian Believer. This is an entire subject in itself, but, in short, the relevant Biblical teachings are that:

• Only a true disciple of Christ is truly a Christian (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 11:26).

• Biblical Christianity never was and never has been a religion; rather it always has been a way of life of Faith the Lord Jesus, of surrendering one’s life to Him, and following Him. Those who followed the Lord Jesus, at the beginning of Christianity, were known as ‘people of the Way’ (Acts 9:2; 19:23; 22:4; 24:14, 22).

• The Christian Faith is never inherited; No one is ever born a ‘Christian’, by natural birth. Everyone, including the most religious and those most knowledgeable about the Scriptures, e.g., Nicodemus, must be Born-Again to be able to see and enter into the Kingdom of God (John 3:3, 5, 7). According to the Bible, nothing else, no observance or fulfilment of any rituals, traditions, rules, or festivals, nothing other than being Born-Again will ever qualify anyone to be in the Kingdom of God.

• This, being Born-Again is by faith and not by any works of any kind. It is only by the grace of God through repentance of sins and coming to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:8-10; Ephesians 2:5, 8-9).

• The Church is the collective group of “those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours” (1 Corinthians 1:2); i.e., the Church is not any particular denomination, or sect, nor those who fulfil certain rules, rituals and traditions, but those who are completely committed and surrendered to the Lord Jesus.

• This true and Biblical Church is one, is universal, is the same all over the world and all throughout its history, and has been called the ‘body of Christ’ and the ‘Bride of Christ’ (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 5:23, 29-30). Every Born-Again Christian Believer is individually a member of this Body of Christ.

• It is only this one universal Church, this Body and Bride of Christ which will be delivered from the world and taken up into heaven, to eternally be with the Lord God Jesus Christ. Therefore, for everyone, what matters is not whether they are members of any particular denomination or sect, nor for how many generations and for how long they have been the members, but whether or not they have been Born-Again and become a member of this actual Church, this Body, this Bride of Christ.

 

How Satan misinterprets and misuses these Biblical facts to misguide people through God’s committed Believers, Church leaders and elders, Bible preachers and teachers, etc. we will see in the next article.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि हव्वा को भले और बुरे में अंतर करने का ज्ञान पाकर, ‘परमेश्वर के तुल्य’ हो जाने का लालच देने के द्वारा शैतान ने पहले हव्वा को, और फिर उसके द्वारा आदम को पाप में गिराया था। जब शैतान ने हव्वा से बात की थी, उस समय सारी सृष्टि बहुत अच्छी थी (उत्पत्ति 1:31) तथा तब तक संसार में पाप नहीं था। वह और आदम तथा सृष्टि में अन्य सभी कुछ निष्पाप दशा में थे; आदम और हव्वा परमेश्वर के साथ खुली और निर्बाध संगति रखते थे। तब भी हव्वा, इस बारे में परमेश्वर से कुछ पूछे और जाने बिना ही, अपनी ही बुद्धि और समझ के अनुसार उसे आकर्षक और उचित लगने वाली, किन्तु परमेश्वर की कही बात से असंगत तथा विरुद्ध उस व्यर्थ और अनावश्यक बात को प्राप्त करने के लालच में फंस गई। 

शैतान आज भी मनुष्यों को इसी प्रकार से, परमेश्वर की कही बात से असंगत, उसके विरुद्ध, अनेकों प्रकार की व्यर्थ और अनावश्यक बातों के लालच में फुसलाकर, गिरा देता है (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3)। मनुष्य अपनी ही दृष्टि और बुद्धि से सही, परन्तु बुरी या पाप की बात को कर देने में फँस जाता है। जिसमें फंस कर फिर वह जीवन भर उलझा पड़ा रहता है; स्वयं भी हानि उठाता है, तथा औरों को भी हानि पहुँचाता है। हव्वा के मूर्खता में पड़ने और फँसने का परिणाम था कि आदम और हव्वा ने भले और बुरे में अंतर करने का ज्ञान तो पाया, किन्तु हमेशा के लिए बुराई से बचे रहने और भला ही करते रहने की क्षमता गँवा दी। पाप के कारण मनुष्य में बस गई इस प्रवृत्ति के कारण, आज अनेकों परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोग, कलीसियाओं के अगुवे, बाइबल के शिक्षक और प्रचारक भी यही गलती करते रहते हैं। क्योंकि अब उनमें “भले और बुरे के ज्ञान” की समझ रखने और निर्णय लेने की शारीरिक प्रवृत्ति है, इसलिये अब वे भी उनकी दृष्टि में जो सही और उचित है, उसी को प्रचार करते और सिखाते रहते हैं। संसार और साथ के लोगों से मिलने वाली प्रशंसा, स्वीकृति, और अनुमोदन के कारण जब वे स्वयं को वचन के ज्ञाता, परमेश्वर द्वारा उपयोग किये जाने वाले, तथा लोगों के मध्य एक हैसियत रखने वाले समझने लगते हैं, तब वे 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:12 में सचेत किये गये फंदे में फँसाए जाने की स्थिति में आ जाते हैं।

 

ऐसे में यदि वे सचेत नहीं रहे, उनमें “अपने भले और बुरे का ज्ञान रखने, और पहचान करने” का घमण्ड आया, तो शैतान तुरन्त ही उन के द्वारा, उनकी अपनी धारणाओं और समझ के अनुसार, बाइबल के लेखों का दुरुपयोग करवाने लगता है। और वे बाइबल की बातों को बाइबल में दिये उस बात अर्थों और अभिप्रायों से असंगत, यहाँ तक कि बाइबल के विपरीत अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ भी, उपयोग करने और करवाने लगते हैं। अपनी व्याख्या को सही ठहराने और उसका प्रचार एवं प्रसार करने में वे इस बात का भी ध्यान नहीं करते हैं कि परमेश्वर के वचन में, उनकी व्याख्या के अनुरूप, कभी भी, कहीं भी, किसी के भी द्वारा, कुछ भी कहा और उपयोग नहीं किया गया है। और उन अगुवों, बाइबल के शिक्षकों एवं प्रचारकों के अन्ध-भक्त, जो उनकी प्रतिष्ठा के कारण हर बात को बिना पहले वचन से जाँचे-परखे (प्रेरितों 7:11; 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21) स्वीकार करते रहते हैं, उनकी इन गलतियों को, परमेश्वर के वचन की भ्रष्ट की गई अप्रभावी और अनुचित बातों को फैलाते रहते हैं; और इससे अपनी  तथा औरों की भी हानि करते रहते हैं।

 

यद्यपि शैतान भली-भांति जानता है कि एक वास्तव में नया जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी अपना उद्धार कभी नहीं खो सकता है, लेकिन वह यह भी जानता है कि मसीही विश्वासी का परमेश्वर का अनाज्ञाकारी होना न केवल उसकी आशीषों, दोनों स्वर्गीय और भौतिक, को हानि पहुँचाएगा; वरन साथ ही उसके आत्मिक जीवन को भी कमज़ोर करेगा, और उसे सँसार के साथ समझौते का जीवन जीने वाला बना देगा। मसीही विश्वासी के इस प्रकार के दुर्बल और समझौते के तथा अप्रभावी गवाही के जीवन के कारण अन्य लोग उद्धार पाने के लिए मसीह यीशु के पास आना नहीं चाहेंगे। और यह मसीही विश्वासी तथा परमेश्वर के राज्य की हानि और शैतान के लाभ की बात होगी। इसीलिए शैतान के लिए यह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है कि वह किसी न किसी तरह से मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के मार्गों तथा वचन से भटकाए और उसे अपनी शैतानी युक्तियों में फँसा ले। और ऐसा कोई भी मसीही विश्वासी जिसमें किसी भी बात के लिये ज़रा सा भी घमण्ड है, शैतान की कुटिल युक्तियों को कार्यान्वित करने के लिये उपयुक्त है।

 

इस युक्ति को पूरा करने के लिए, शैतान ने एक अन्य मानवीय प्रवृत्ति का उपयोग किया है, किसी भी आकर्षक या तर्कपूर्ण प्रतीत होने वाली बात को मान लेना। शैतान मसीही विश्वासियों से परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता करवाता है, उनसे परमेश्वर के निर्देशों की बजाए उनकी अपनी बुद्धि और समझ की बातों पर भरोसा रखने के द्वारा। शैतान ने यह युक्ति हव्वा के विरुद्ध उपयोग की (उत्पत्ति 3:6); और उसके बाद से अभी तक, मनुष्यों को गलत मार्ग पर डालकर परमेश्वर के मार्ग से भटका देने के लिए, इस युक्ति का बड़ी सफलतापूर्वक उपयोग करता चला आ रहा है। अंतर केवल इतना ही है कि हव्वा के लिए उसने वर्जित फल का उपयोग किया था; और शैतान मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए बाइबल के लेखों का दुरुपयोग करता है। शैतान ऐसा इसलिये कर पाता है, क्योंकि वह भली-भांति जानता है कि अधिकांश मसीहियों को बाइबल अध्ययन करने में कोई रुचि नहीं है। उन में बाइबल की बातों की बहुत ऊपरी समझ, और हल्का सा ज्ञान होता है; और वास्तविकता में वे बाइबल के तथ्यों और सच्चाइयों से मुख्यतः अनभिज्ञ होते हैं। इसलिये अधिकाँश मसीही विश्वासी, अन्य प्रतिष्ठित बाइबल शिक्षकों और प्रचारकों, या अपनी कलीसिया के अगुवों द्वारा कही गई बातों पर ही निर्भर रहते हैं, उन्हें ही वास्तविक सत्य समझते और मानते हैं। इसलिये शैतान उनसे जो कुछ भी कहलवाया देगा, ये विश्वासी उसे स्वीकार कर लेंगे, उसका पालन करने लगेंगे।

 

मसीही विश्वासी पाप और परमेश्वर के बारे में बाइबल की कुछ बातें जानते हैं। लेकिन मुख्य समस्या यह है कि अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल का अध्ययन पवित्र आत्मा की अधीनता और अगुवाई में नहीं करते हैं, इसीलिए, वे शिक्षाओं को ठीक से जांच-परख नहीं सकते हैं, सत्य और असत्य में, तथ्यों और मन-गढ़ंत बातों में अंतर नहीं करने पाते हैं, क्योंकि यह केवल परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य ही से किया जा सकता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 2:10-14)। और इसीलिए, किसी भी ऐसे व्यक्ति के द्वारा जो थोड़ा ज़ोर देकर, अथवा आकर्षक, या रोचक, तथा तर्कपूर्ण रीति से बाइबल के लेखों को बोलता है, उसके द्वारा लोग आसानी से गलतियों की ओर बहकाए जा सकते हैं और बहकते भी हैं।

 

शैतान इस बात का पूरा लाभ उठाता है कि बहुत से ईसाई या मसीही चाहे आदत से अथवा औपचारिकता निभाने के लिए बाइबल को पढ़ते होंगे, हो सकता है नियमित तथा प्रतिदिन भी पढ़ते होंगे, लेकिन शायद ही कभी वे बैठकर जो पढ़ा है उस पर विचार करते हैं, मनन करते हैं, परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना करते हैं कि उनकी आँखों को खोले कि वे उसके वचन की अद्भुत बातों को देख सकें (भजन 119:18)। हो सकता है कि कुछ ईसाई या मसीही बाइबल की कॉमेंटरी या अन्य सहायक पुस्तकों की सहायता से उन्होंने जो पढ़ा है, उसे सीखने-समझने का प्रयास करते हैं, और इसीलिए उनका बाइबल ज्ञान तथा समझ या तो मुख्यतः किताबी ही रहता है, अथवा, वे कुछ समय के बाद यह करना भी छोड़ देते हैं। बहुत ही कम ऐसे होते हैं जो प्रार्थना-पूर्वक प्रभु के चरणों पर, मरियम के समान बैठते हैं (लूका 10:39, 42), और पवित्र आत्मा को उन्हें सिखाने और समझाने देते हैं। लेकिन फिर भी लगभग सभी ईसाई या मसीही यही समझते हैं कि उन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन का पर्याप्त ज्ञान और समझ है, तथा मानते हैं कि कोई उन्हें बहका नहीं सकता है। बाइबल के लेखों से सम्बन्धित इसी कमी का शैतान भरपूरी से लाभ उठाता है, और मसीही विश्वासियों को बाइबल के बाहर की या उस से विपरीत बातों, संदेशों तथा शिक्षाओं को स्वीकार करने और मानने में फँसा लेता है। 

प्रचारक और अनुयायी, दोनों ही शैतान द्वारा गलत मार्ग पर चलाए जाते हुए भी इसी गलतफहमी में रहते हैं कि वे भक्ति का और परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता का कार्य कर रहे हैं। अगले लेख में हम इसके बारे में कुछ और देखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 9

 

In the previous article we saw that by tempting Eve with the desire to become “like God,” by obtaining the knowledge of good and evil, Satan first caused Eve to fall into sin, and then through her, Adam as well. When Satan spoke to Eve, all creation was very good (Genesis 1:31), and until that time there was no sin in the world. She, Adam, and everything else in creation were in a sinless state; Adam and Eve had open and unhindered fellowship with God. Yet Eve, without asking or knowing anything about this from God, became ensnared by the temptation to obtain that vain and unnecessary thing which seemed attractive and proper to her, according to her own wisdom and understanding, but which was inconsistent with and contrary to what God had said. 

In the same way, even today Satan deceives people and causes them to fall by enticing them with many kinds of vain and unnecessary things that are inconsistent with and opposed to what God has said (2 Corinthians 11:3). A person becomes trapped into doing what appears right in his own sight and reasoning, but which is evil or sinful. Having fallen into it, he then remains entangled in it throughout his life; he himself suffers loss and also causes harm to others. The result of Eve’s falling into foolishness and being ensnared was that Adam and Eve did gain the knowledge of good and evil, but they lost the ability to remain forever free from evil and to continue doing only what is good.

Because of this tendency that entered humanity through sin, today many devoted people of God — the Church leaders, Bible teachers, and preachers — also keep making the same mistake. Since they now possess the human tendency to understand and make decisions based on the “knowledge of good and evil,” they continue preaching and teaching what appears right and proper in their own sight. When, because of the praise, acceptance, and approval they receive from the world and from those around them, they begin to regard themselves as knowledgeable in the Word, as people used by God, and as persons of standing among others, they come into a position where they can fall into the trap warned about in 1 Corinthians 10:12.

If at such a time they are not alert, and pride arises in them over their supposed ability to “know and discern good and evil about what they say,” then Satan immediately begins to induce them to misuse the writings of the Bible, according to their own assumptions and understanding. They start using, and causing others to use, the teachings of the Bible in ways that are inconsistent with the actual meanings and implications given in the Bible itself, even bringing in meanings and implications that are contrary to the Bible. In seeking to justify their interpretation and to promote and spread it, they do not even consider that in the Word of God, in accordance with their interpretation, nothing like it has ever been said or used by anyone anywhere. And the blind followers of those leaders, Bible teachers, and preachers, who, because of their reputation, continue accepting everything without first examining and testing it by the Word (Acts 17:11; 1 Corinthians 14:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:21), keep spreading these errors, these corrupted, ineffective, and improper teachings of the Word of God, thereby bringing harm both to themselves and to others.

Though Satan knows very well that a truly Born-Again Christian Believer will never lose his salvation, but he also knows that a Believer’s disobedience to God will not only bring harm to his blessings, both heavenly and temporal; but will also weaken his spiritual life and get him into living a life of compromising with the world. This poor witness of a Christian Believer’s life then serves to discourage others from coming to Christ Jesus for salvation. This will be a loss to the Christian Believer and God’s Kingdom and a gain for Satan. Hence it is of paramount importance for Satan to somehow get a Christian Believer to deviate from God’s ways and Word, and get entangled in Satan’s ploys. Any Christian Believer, who has any pride about anything, however little it may be, is appropriate to implement the devious satanic ploys.

To accomplish this ploy, Satan has taken the help of another human tendency, that of falling for something that seems appealing and logical. Satan makes Believers disobey God, by making them trust more on their own thinking and logic, than on God’s instructions. Satan had used this against Eve (Genesis 3:6); and since then, he has been using this method very successfully against mankind, to misguide and draw them away from God. The only difference is that with Eve Satan used the forbidden fruit; for the Believer’s, Satan uses the Biblical texts. Satan is readily able to do this, since he is well aware that most Christians have no interest in studying the Bible for themselves. They only have very superficial and light knowledge about the Bible, and they are not actually aware of the truths and facts of God’s Word. Therefore, the majority of the Christian Believers rely upon whatever is said and taught by reputed Bible teachers and preachers, or by their Church leaders; and accept whatever they say as the truth. Therefore, whatever Satan makes them say, these Believers will readily accept and follow.

The Christian Believers know some Biblical facts about sin and God. But the major problem is that since most Christians do not study God’s Word the Bible under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, therefore, they are unable to properly analyze the teachings and discern truth from untruth, facts from fiction, since this can only be done through the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:1-14). Therefore, they can easily be misled, and are misled, by anyone who can forcefully, or in an appealing, or interesting and seemingly logical manner, present some Bible texts in an impressive manner.

 

Satan takes full advantage of the fact that though many Christians may habitually or perfunctorily read the Bible, maybe even do so regularly and daily, but hardly ever will they sit down to ponder over it, meditate upon what they have read, asking God to open their eyes to see the wondrous things from His Word (Psalm 119:18). Few Christians may take the help of some Commentaries and other Bible help books to try to learn and grasp something about what they have read, and so they will either have only a bookish knowledge and understanding, or will stop doing even this after some time. But very rare are the ones who prayerfully sit down at the feet of the Lord like Mary (Luke 10:39, 42), and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to them and teach them. But yet, all of them believe they know enough of God’s Word, and therefore believe that they cannot be misguided about it. It is this very short-coming that Satan exploits to misuse Biblical texts to misguide and trap the Christian Believers into accepting and following unBiblical preaching and teachings. 

The preacher and teacher as well as their followers, even while being misled by Satan, remain under the deception that they are being godly and obedient to God’s Word. We will continue with this in the next article.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि हव्वा को भले और बुरे में अंतर करने का ज्ञान पाकर, ‘परमेश्वर के तुल्य’ हो जाने का लालच देने के द्वारा शैतान ने पहले हव्वा को और फिर उसके द्वारा आदम को पाप में गिराया था। यहाँ एक ध्यान देने योग्य बात, शैतान की एक कुटिल युक्ति छुपी हुई है। जैसे हम उत्पत्ति 1 अध्याय से दखते हैं, परमेश्वर ने सृष्टि का कार्य करते समय, प्रत्येक दिन के अन्त में उस दिन के कार्य को अच्छा कहा, और फिर सारा कार्य पूरा करने के अन्त में सब कुछ का अवलोकन करके, समस्त सृष्टि को बहुत अच्छा कहा था (उत्पत्ति 1:31)। साथ ही, जब शैतान ने हव्वा से बात की थी, उस समय तक संसार में पाप नहीं था। वह और आदम तथा सृष्टि में अन्य सभी कुछ निष्पाप दशा में थे; आदम और हव्वा परमेश्वर के साथ खुली और निर्बाध संगति रखते थे। तो अब ऐसी अद्भुत स्थिति में रहते हुए हव्वा को “बुरे” या “बुराई” के ज्ञान की आवश्यकता क्यों अनुभव हुई? उस “बुरे” या “बुराई” का ज्ञान पाकर, जो सृष्टि में, पृथ्वी पर, अदन की वाटिका में था ही नहीं; और यदि हव्वा परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में बनी रहती, तो कभी होता भी नहीं, हव्वा को क्या लाभ होता? उस स्थिति में तो उसके और आदम के लिये वह ज्ञान व्यर्थ और पूर्णतः अनावश्यक था; तो फिर उसे उपयोगी या आवश्यक क्यों समझना? किन्तु फिर भी वह उस व्यर्थ और अनावश्यक बात को प्राप्त करने के लालच में फंस गई। शैतान आज भी मनुष्यों को इसी प्रकार से अनेकों प्रकार की व्यर्थ और अनावश्यक बातों के लालच में फुसलाकर, बुरा यानि कि पाप करने में फँसा देता है, जिसमें फंस कर फिर वे जीवन भर उलझे पड़े रहते हैं, हानि उठाते हैं।

 

हव्वा के मूर्खता में पड़ने और फँसने का परिणाम था कि आदम और हव्वा ने भले और बुरे में अंतर करने का ज्ञान तो पाया, किन्तु हमेशा के लिए बुराई से बचे रहने और भला ही करते रहने की क्षमता गँवा दी। वे और उनकी भावी संतान पाप के द्वारा दूषित हो गईं, और उसी समय से मनुष्य में जो उसे अच्छा लगता है वही करने तथा परमेश्वर और उसके वचन की अनाज्ञाकारिता में रहने की प्रवृत्ति भी प्राप्त कर ली। इस प्रवृत्ति के द्वारा शैतान ने मानवजाति को कर्मों के द्वारा धर्मी बनने, ‘भले बनो भला करो’ के सिद्धान्त का पालन कर के ही परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने, और स्वर्ग में रहने के योग्य हो जाने के व्यर्थ उद्यम में फँसा लिया। प्रभु यीशु मसीह द्वारा समस्त मानव जाति के पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए अपना बलिदान देने और परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह द्वारा प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास करने से मिलने वाले उद्धार का मार्ग खुल जाने के बाद शैतान के द्वारा मनुष्यों को, विशेषकर उन्हें जिन्होंने प्रभु यीशु पर विश्वास किया था, अपनी इस कर्मों के द्वारा धर्मी होने की युक्ति में फँसाने को बड़ा झटका लगा।

परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह और प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास के द्वारा पापों की क्षमा और अनन्तकालीन उद्धार प्राप्त होने के कारण, मसीही विश्वासी पर शैतान की पकड़ जाती रही। इसलिए, अपनी उस पकड़ को वापस प्राप्त करने, और मसीही विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर से, उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता से दूर खींच लेने के लिए शैतान को कुछ तरीका निकालना था। शैतान ने यह दो कार्य-विधियों को बनाने के द्वारा किया; पहली विधि यह कि लोगों के मनों में उद्धार के अनन्तकालीन होने के बारे में गंभीर सन्देह उत्पन्न करना; और दूसरी विधि यह कि विश्वासियों को अपने उद्धार को बनाए रखने के लिए कर्मों के द्वारा धर्मी बने रहने की आवश्यकता में भरोसा दिलाना। इन विधियों को कार्यान्वित एवं विश्वसनीय दिखाने के लिये, और मसीही विश्वासियों को इन तथा अन्य बातों के बारे में बहकाने और भरमाने का शैतान का सर्वोत्तम और सबसे कारगर उपाय है, उनका, जिस पर विश्वासी सबसे अधिक भरोसा करते हैं उसी का, अर्थात् बाइबल की बातों का और परमेश्वर के समर्पित तथा प्रतिबद्ध लोग, जो बाइबल की बातों को सिखाते और प्रचार करते हैं, उन्हीं का दुरुपयोग करना।

 

इन कार्य-विधियों को सफलतापूर्वक लागू करने के लिए शैतान परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि का प्रयोग करता है। परमेश्वर के ये प्रतिबद्ध लोग यह गलती इसलिये कर बैठते हैं, क्योंकि अब उनमें “भले और बुरे के ज्ञान” की समझ रखने की उनकी शारीरिक प्रवृत्ति है। संसार और साथ के लोगों से मिलने वाली प्रशंसा, स्वीकृति, और अनुमोदन के कारण जब वे स्वयं को वचन के ज्ञाता, परमेश्वर द्वारा उपयोग किये जाने वाले, तथा लोगों के मध्य एक हैसियत रखने वाले समझने लगते हैं, तब वे 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:12 में सचेत किये गये फंदे में फँसाए जाने की स्थिति में आ जाते हैं। ऐसे में यदि वे सचेत नहीं रहे, उनमें “अपने भले और बुरे का ज्ञान रखने, और उनकी पहचान करने” का घमण्ड आया, तो शैतान तुरन्त ही उन के द्वारा, उनकी अपनी धारणाओं और समझ के अनुसार, बाइबल के लेखों का उपयोग करवाने लगता है, और वे बाइबल की बातों को बाइबल के विपरीत अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ उपयोग करवाने लगता है। और उन बाइबल के शिक्षकों एवं प्रचारकों के अन्ध-भक्त, जो उनकी हर बात को बिना जाँचे-परखे स्वीकार करते रहते हैं, उनकी गलतियों को फैलाते रहते हैं। उन शिक्षकों, प्रचारकों, और उनके अनुयायियों द्वारा प्रसारित होने वाली गलत शिक्षा और अनुचित व्याख्या के कारण, उनके उपदेशों को सुनने वाले विश्वासियों के मनों में कई प्रकार के सन्देह और असमंजस उत्पन्न हो जाते हैं, जिनके कारण वे परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखने और उसके वचन का आज्ञाकारी बने रहने के मार्ग से भटक जाते हैं; और मनुष्यों तथा मनुष्यों द्वारा गढ़ी गई बातों को मानने और पालन करने लगते हैं।

हम इस विचार को अगले लेख में और गए बढ़ाएंगे, तथा एक अन्य मानवीय प्रवृत्ति के बारे में भी देखेंगे, जिसे शैतान अपने उद्देश्यों के लिये प्रयोग करता है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 8

 

In the previous article we have seen that by enticing Eve to know how to discern between good and evil, and thereby become ‘like God’, Satan first made her, and then through her, Adam also to fall in sin. There is a hidden noteworthy point, a devious tactic of Satan here. As we see from Genesis chapter 1, while performing the work of creation, God called the work of each day 'good' at its end; and then, after completing the entire work and reviewing everything, He called the whole of creation 'very good' (Genesis 1:31). Furthermore, until the time Satan spoke with Eve, there was no sin in the world. She, Adam, and everything else in creation were in a sinless state; Adam and Eve had an open and uninterrupted fellowship with God. So, while living in such a wonderful state, why did Eve feel the need for the knowledge of 'bad' or 'evil'? What benefit would Eve gain by obtaining the knowledge of that 'bad' or 'evil' which did not even exist in creation, on earth, or in the Garden of Eden? And which, if Eve had remained in obedience to God, never would have existed? In the state that they were, such knowledge was useless and entirely unnecessary for her and Adam; so then, why consider it useful or necessary at all? Yet, she still fell for the greed of obtaining a useless and unnecessary thing. Even today, Satan entices humans into sin or evil by luring them with many such useless and unnecessary things, and after falling for those vain things, they then remain entangled throughout their lives and suffer loss.

The net result of Eve’s folly was that though Adam and Eve learnt how to discern between good and evil, but forever lost the capability of always avoiding evil and doing good. They and their progeny got tainted by sin, and since then, all men also developed the tendency of always doing what seemed right to them, of disobeying God and His Word. Through this tendency, Satan has had mankind trapped in the vain pursuit of becoming righteous by works, following the doctrine of ‘be good do good’ to become righteous and acceptable to God and qualify for heaven. After the Lord Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for atonement of sin of the entire mankind, and opening the way of salvation for everybody by the grace of God, through faith in Him, Satan’s ploy of entangling man, particularly those who believed in the Lord Jesus, in the vanity of righteousness by works suffered a big setback.

Because of forgiveness of sins and eternal salvation received by God’s grace through faith in the Lord Jesus, Satan lost his hold on the Christian Believer. Therefore, to get his hold back on them, and to draw the Christian Believers away from following God and obeying His Word, Satan had to devise some means. Satan achieved this by devising two strategies; firstly, of creating serious doubts amongst them about their salvation being eternal; and secondly, to pull the Believers back into the satanic trap of staying righteous by works to maintain their salvation. To make these methods appear trustworthy and implement them, and to mislead and deceive Christian Believers regarding these and other matters, the best and most effective satanic method is to misuse what the Believers trust the most, i.e., the teachings of the Bible, and the people devoted and committed to God who teach and preach the things of the Bible.

In order to successfully implement these methods, Satan makes use of God’s committed people — the church leaders, preachers and teachers of the Bible, and others. These devoted people of God fall into this error because they now have the fleshly tendency of having an understanding of the “knowledge of good and evil.” Because of the praise, acceptance, and approval they receive from the world and from the people around them, when they begin to consider themselves as knowledgeable in the Word, as those being used by God, and as having a certain status among people, then they come into a position where they are vulnerable to be trapped by the snare cautioned about 1 Corinthians 10:12. In such a situation, if they are not vigilant, and if pride arises in them because they “possess the knowledge of knowing and discerning good from evil,” then Satan immediately begins to make them use the things written in the Bible, according to their own concepts and understanding of the text, and bringing in meanings and intentions that are contrary to the Bible itself. And the blind devotees of such Bible teachers and preachers, since they keep accepting everything being said without examining or checking it out, continue spreading the errors. Because of the wrong teachings and improper interpretations that are spread by those teachers, preachers, and their followers, many kinds of doubts and confusions arise in the minds of Believers that listen to their messages. As a result, they stray from the path of trusting in God and remaining obedient to His Word; and instead, they begin to believe and follow human beings and the things fabricated by human beings.

We will carry on with this consideration in the next article as well, and consider another human tendency that Satan uses for his purposes.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there are respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
