पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना – 9

 

मसीही विश्वासी, उद्धार पाने के क्षण से, परमेश्वर के पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर हो जाते हैं (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19), और उसी क्षण से पवित्र आत्मा उनमें जीवन भर निवास करने के लिए प्रदान कर दिया जाता है। उन्हें पवित्र आत्मा उनके मसीही जीवन जीने और उन्हें परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई सेवकाई को योग्य रीति से करने में उनका सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया गया है। इसलिये उन्हें, उनमें निवास करने वाले पवित्र आत्मा का योग्य भण्डारी होना है। यद्यपि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, उन्हें परमेश्वर का वचन सिखाने के लिए, उन में विद्यमान है, फिर भी अधिकाँश मसीही वचन को सीखने के लिए अन्य मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं की ओर मुड़ जाते हैं। इसका मुख्य कारण है पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए यत्न से प्रयास करने की, उसके प्रति एक अनुशासन, समर्पण, और आज्ञाकारिता की आवश्यकता का होना। और सामान्यतः लोग इस बात को करने के लिए तैयार नहीं होते हैं; इसलिए वे आसान तरीका अपना लेते हैं। लोग यह मान लेते हैं कि वे मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से भी उतनी ही अच्छी रीति से सीख सकते हैं। 

क्योंकि कोई भी मनुष्य सिद्ध नहीं है, और न ही अचूक है, इसलिए जो मनुष्यों का अनुसरण करने और उन्हीं से सीखने पर अड़े रहते हैं, वे लोग झूठी शिक्षाओं और गलत सिद्धान्तों में पड़ जाने के बहुत बड़े और वास्तविक जोखिम में बने रहते हैं। क्योंकि सामान्यतः यह सीखना उन शिक्षकों और प्रचारकों के प्रति अन्ध-विश्वास रखते हुए, और परमेश्वर के निर्देशों (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21) की अनदेखी करते हुए होता है। अर्थात्, उन शिक्षाओं को बिना बाइबल से जाँचे-परखे और उनकी पुष्टि किए हुए ही स्वीकार कर लेने और मान लेने के साथ किया जाता है। इस प्रकार की गलत शिक्षाओं का एक सामान्य उदाहरण है लोगों के द्वारा ज़ोर देकर बाइबल के शब्दों और वाक्यांशों का बाइबल से बाहर की रीति से उपयोग करना, अर्थात, ऐसे अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ, जैसे उन शब्दों और वाक्यांशों के लिये बाइबल में कहीं नहीं दिया गया है।

लेकिन एक अन्य बहुत महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य पर भी ध्यान कीजिए, इन ढीठ विश्वासियों के जीवनों में भी, जो स्वयं भी ढिठाई के साथ गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ते हैं तथा औरों को भी उन को मानने और पालन करने के लिए कहते हैं, उन के जीवनों में भी परमेश्वर का प्रेम और अनुग्रह कार्यकारी रहता है। उनकी गलती के बावजूद, बाइबल में उन्हें कभी भी ‘अविश्वासी’ नहीं कहा गया है, और उन से परमेश्वर की सँतान होने का उनका ओहदा कभी वापस नहीं लिया गया है। यद्यपि उन्हें अपरिपक्व, बच्चों के समान, शारीरिक, आदि तो कहा गया है, लेकिन फिर भी उन्हें विश्वासी ही समझा गया है; ऐसे मसीही जिन्हें इन गलतियों से बाहर निकल कर उन्नति करने की आवश्यकता है। परमेश्वर कभी किसी को न छोड़ता है और न त्यागता है (इब्रानियों 13:5)।

हमने पिछले लेख में देखा है कि यदि ये मसीही अपने आप को सुधारने से इनकार करते हैं, और ढीठ बनकर मनुष्यों और मनुष्यों की शिक्षाओं से ही सीखने में बने रहते हैं, तो वे पवित्र आत्मा से परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने में अपने लिए गंभीर बाधाएँ खड़ी कर लेते हैं। फिर पवित्र आत्मा उन्हें ‘अन्न’ या ‘ठोस भोजन’ नहीं देने पाता है, क्योंकि वे न तो उसे ग्रहण कर सकते हैं, और न ही पचा सकते हैं। इसलिए वह उन्हें अपरिपक्व, शारीरिक मसीहियों, आत्मिक शिशुओं और बच्चों का ही भोजन, अर्थात ‘दूध’ – आधारभूत आरंभिक शिक्षाएँ ही देता रहता है। ये छः आरंभिक शिक्षाएँ इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई हैं, और पश्चाताप से आरंभ कर के अंतिम न्याय तक की, मसीही जीवन के सम्पूर्ण वर्णक्रम के बारे में हैं। 

इसका निहितार्थ और व्यावहारिक बात है कि जो लोग मनुष्यों और मनुष्यों के कार्यों का अनुसरण करने वाले हैं, और जो लोग परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षाओं में अपनी ही बुद्धि के विचार और अपनी ही गढ़ी हुई शिक्षाएँ मिलाते हैं, और फिर अपनी गढ़ी हुई बातों को परमेश्वर के वचन का सत्य कहकर प्रस्तुत करते हैं, तथा औरों से उन शिक्षाओं को स्वीकार करके उनका पालन करने के लिए कहते हैं, उन्हें केवल परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा केवल ‘दूध’ ही दिया जाएगा, और वे औरों को भी दूध परोसने तक ही सीमित रहेंगे। दूसरे शब्दों में, वे लोग जो बाइबल से बाहर की शिक्षाओं के गढ़ने वाले, समर्थक, एवं पालन करने, तथा करवाने वाले होते हैं, उनका सीखना और सिखाना केवल इब्रानियों 6:1-2 के आरंभिक सिद्धान्तों तक ही सीमित रहेगा। जैसा कि प्रेरित पौलुस ने 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-3 में कहा है, वे बस शिशुओं और बच्चों के आहार ‘दूध’ ही को ग्रहण कर सकते हैं, और इसलिए उन्हें केवल ‘दूध’ ही दिया जाएगा; कोई अन्न अथवा ठोस वस्तु नहीं।

पहली झलक में यह दावा एक अतिशयोक्ति, एक बढ़ा-चढ़ा कर कही गई बात प्रतीत होती है। ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि यह अच्छे से जाना जाता है कि बहुत सारे ऐसे विश्वासी, अगुवे, प्रचारक और शिक्षक हैं जो कि बाइबल की बातों को बाइबल से बाहर की रीति से उपयोग करने, सिखाने, और बढ़ावा देने की गलती में फँसे हुए हैं, उनके अनुयायी भी बहुत हैं, तथा वे बहुत प्रभावी संदेश भी देते हैं। न केवल उनके संदेशों को भली-भाँति स्वीकार किया जाता है, किन्तु बहुधा वे ‘पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में,’ अपने प्रचार और शिक्षाओं में ‘गूढ़ सत्य’ और ‘नए प्रकाशन’ भी प्रस्तुत करते रहते हैं। इस प्रतीत होने वाले विरोधाभास को समझने के लिए हमें इस तथ्य के प्रति जागरूक रहना चाहिए कि नया-जन्म पाए हुए नये विश्वासी, इन आरंभिक शिक्षाओं के बारे में जानते भी नहीं हैं। वे भी जो कुछ समय से मसीही विश्वासी हैं, उनमें से अधिकांश लोग भी इन आरम्भिक शिक्षाओं के प्रति अनभिज्ञ ही रहते हैं। साथ ही इन में से प्रत्येक आरम्भिक शिक्षा के साथ उसके कई अन्य पक्ष भी जुड़े हुए हैं, और इन सम्बन्धित पक्षों को भी वे विश्वासी सामान्यतः, नहीं जानते हैं। 

उदाहरण के लिए, इनमें से पहली शिक्षा, मरे हुए कामों से मन फिराना, को ही लीजिए, और उसके साथ जुड़े हुए परमेश्वर के प्रेम और अनुग्रह के बारे में सोचिए जो वह पाप में मरे हुए जन (इफिसियों 2:1) से करता है, मसीह के उद्धार देने वाले कार्य के बारे में, सुसमाचार और उसकी सामर्थ्य तथा प्रभावों, आदि, के बारे में सोचिए। और इसी प्रकार से प्रत्येक आरम्भिक शिक्षा के साथ भी की अन्य संबंधी बातें जुड़ी हुई हैं। अब, जो इन आरंभिक शिक्षाओं के बारे में जानते भी नहीं हैं, उनके लिए तो गलत शिक्षा में पड़े हुए उस अगुवे, प्रचारक और शिक्षक के द्वारा दी गई प्रत्येक ‘व्याख्या’, प्रत्येक मात्र सतह को खुरचना भर ही, ‘गूढ़ सत्यों’ को प्रकट करने के समान है, उनके लिए तो वे बातें ही परमेश्वर के वचन में से दिखाए गए ‘नया प्रकाशन’ हैं। किन्तु वास्तविकता में ये सभी ‘गूढ़ सत्य,’ और ‘नए प्रकाशन’ गलतियों में पड़े हुए उस अगुवे, प्रचारक और शिक्षक को पवित्र आत्मा से मिलने वाले ‘दूध’ का ही एक भाग हैं, जो उसने स्वयं भी ग्रहण किया तथा औरों को भी परोस दिया है; वे बातें वास्तव में कोई ‘ठोस भोजन’ या अन्न नहीं हैं। ध्यान से ऐसे प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों के प्रचार और शिक्षाओं के बारे में विश्लेषण करके देखिये, उन्हें समझिए। आप पाएंगे कि वे इन छः आरम्भिक शिक्षाओं और उनसे सम्बन्धित बातों की सीमाओं से कभी बाहर जाते ही नहीं हैं। उनके ‘दर्शन’ केवल इस आत्मिक ‘दूध’ तक ही सीमित रहते हैं। वे ‘दूध’ ही पीते हैं, और ‘दूध’ ही पिलाते रहते हैं। 

जैसा कि पिछले लेख में हमने देखा है, यदि कोई इब्रानियों 5:10-12 पर विचार करे तो यह प्रकट हो जाता है कि मसीही विश्वासियों से यह अपेक्षा रखी जाती है कि वे इन आरंभिक शिक्षाओं की बातों से और आगे बढ़ेंगे, जिस से कि शिक्षक बनें, न कि इस आरंभिक स्तर पर ही अटके रहें। ज़रा उन महिमित बातों, प्रकाशनों, और अद्भुत, कल्पना से परे, वर्णन से बाहर स्वर्गीय दर्शनों के बारे में के बारे में सोचिए जिन्हें परमेश्वर ने अपने उन बच्चों के लिए तैयार कर के रखा है (1 कुरिन्थियों 2:9-10; 2 कुरिन्थियों 12:1-4)। और ये बातें उन्हें सीखने को मिलेंगी जो विश्वासी अपनी ढिठाई की बातों में से, तथा असिद्ध, गलती करने वाले मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से सीखना छोड़कर, अपने आप को पवित्र आत्मा के अधीन ले आएँगे, और उस से, जो वचन सिखाने के लिए उन्हें दिया गया है, अर्थात् पवित्र आत्मा से ही परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखेंगे। हम इस की एक झलक पौलुस के अद्भुत दर्शनों (2 कुरिन्थियों 12:1-7) में देखते हैं, जो मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने वाला नहीं (गलातियों 1:10) बल्कि परमेश्वर ही से सीखने के लिये प्रतिबद्ध था। लेकिन जो असिद्ध, गलती करने वाले मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से ही सीखने की ज़िद्द पर अड़े रहते हैं, वे यह अपेक्षा क्यों रखें कि पवित्र आत्मा उन्हें कुछ सिखाएगा, जब वे उसकी अधीनता में आने के लिए तैयार नहीं हैं; और न ही वे यत्न से प्रयास कर के उस से सीखने, उसकी बात स्वीकार करने, और उसके निर्देशों का पालन करने, उन्हें अपने जीवन में लागू करने के लिए तैयार हैं।

साथ ही, जैसा कि पवित्र आत्मा ने बाइबल में लिखवाया है, परमेश्वर के वचन में कुछ भी जोड़ने, या उस में से कुछ हटाने की अनुमति किसी को भी नहीं है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19)। इसलिए, सत्य का आत्मा होने के नाते, वह कभी भी किसी भी बाइबल से बाहर की शिक्षा, अथवा किसी भी असत्य अथवा झूठी शिक्षा का, उस के द्वारा दी गई शिक्षाओं में मिलाए जाने के साथ कभी सहमत नहीं होगा। इसलिए वह मनुष्य के विचारों और बुद्धि की बातों के बाइबल की बातों के साथ जोड़े जाने, और फिर इस मिली-जुली बात को परमेश्वर के सत्य के समान प्रस्तुत किए जाने का साथ तो कभी भी नहीं देगा। इसे थोड़ा गंभीरता से सोचिए, यदि यह परमेश्वर के वचन में मनुष्य की बातों की मिलावट करने की अनुमति हो, तो फिर यह एक शैतानी युक्ति होगी जो चालाकी से परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट करने, गलत व्याख्याओं और झूठी शिक्षाओं को सही ठहराने, और इस तरह से परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति सन्देह उत्पन्न करने और उसे विश्वास करने योग्य नहीं रहने देने, उसे अस्वीकार्य बनाने के लिए कार्यान्वित होगी।

अगले लेख से हम देखेंगे कि विश्वासी को किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना चाहिए जिस से कि वह उन्नति करे, परिपक्व हो, और एक जयवन्त जीवन जिए।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 9

 

Christian Believers become the Temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19) from the very moment of their salvation; and God’s Holy Spirit is given to them to reside in them throughout their lives. The Holy Spirit has been given to them to be their Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide, in their Christian living and for carrying out their God given ministries. Therefore, they are to be worthy stewards of the Holy Spirit, residing in them. Though God the Holy Spirit is with them to teach them God’s Word, yet most Christians turn to other men and their works to learn God’s Word. The main reason is because learning from the Holy Spirit requires a diligent effort with discipline, commitment, and obedience towards Him. Something, which people usually are unwilling to do; therefore, they take the easy way out of assuming that they can equally well learn from men and their works. 

But no man is perfect, nor is anyone infallible. Therefore those who insist on being followers of men and learning from men, remain highly prone to learning some false teachings and wrong doctrines. More so, since such learning is usually done in blind faith, and ignoring God’s instructions (Acts 17:11; 1 Corinthians 14:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:21), i.e., without cross-checking and verifying the teachings from God’s Word. One common example of these erroneous teachings is the emphatic use of Biblical words and phrases, in an unBiblical manner, i.e., with meanings and in the manner not given at all in the Bible about those words and phrases.

But take note of another very important fact, of the love and grace of God operative even for these recalcitrant people of God, who stubbornly not only themselves fall into, but also mislead others into believing, and following erroneous teachings. Despite their error, they have never been called ‘unbelievers’ in the Bible, and their status of being God’s children has never been revoked from them. Though they have been called immature, childish, carnal, etc., in the Bible, but they are still considered Believers; Christians who need to get out of these problems and grow up. God never gives up on, or abandons anyone (Hebrews 13:5).

We have seen in the last article that if these Christians fail to correct themselves and stubbornly insist on being followers of men and men’s teachings, then they severely restrict their learning of God's Word from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is then unable to give them ‘solid food,’ since they are incapable of receiving and digesting it. So, He continues to feed them with the food of immature, carnal Christians, the spiritual babies and children, i.e., ‘milk’ – the basic elementary principles. 

These six elementary principles are given in Hebrews 6:1-2, and starting from repentance, cover the whole spectrum of Christian life, up to eternal judgement. The implication, and practical application is that those who are followers of men and men’s works, and those who bring their own thoughts and contrived teachings into the actual teachings of God’s Word, then present them to others as truths from God’s Word, and ask others to accept and follow those teachings as God’s truth, they will only receive and will remain confined to receiving ‘milk’ from the Holy Spirit, and serving it to others. In other words, for the proponents of unBiblical teachings, as well as their followers, their learning and teachings will remain confined to the elementary principles of Hebrews 6:1-2. As the Apostle Paul has said in his letter to the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, all they can handle, and therefore all they will receive is milk, the food of babies; nothing solid.

This assertion, at first glance, is likely to be seen as an exaggeration, and overstatement. This is because there are many Believers, elders, preachers, and teachers who are caught up in the errors of using, teaching, and promoting Biblical terms in an unBiblical manner; they are well known to also have a large following, and they give impressive messages. Their messages are not only very well received and accepted, but they often seem to bring out seemingly ‘deeper truths’ and ‘newer expositions’ in their preaching and teachings; that too apparently, under the ‘guidance of the Holy Spirit.’ To understand this apparent contradiction, we need to remain aware of the fact that the newly Born-Again Christians, are not even aware of these elementary principles. Even those who have been Believers for some time, by far the vast majority of them still remain unaware of these basic principles. Moreover, each of these elementary principles also have numerous facets to them, and the new as well as the older Believers usually are not aware of these associated facets either. 

Take for example the first of these principles – repentance from dead works, and think of the associated aspects of God’s love and grace in the regeneration of those dead in their sins (Ephesians 2:1), of Christ’s work for salvation of mankind, of the gospel with its power and effects, etc.; and similarly there are various other aspects associated with every one of these elementary principles. Now, to those who are not even aware of these principles, every ‘exposition,’ every scratching of the surface of these principles will seem like bringing out ‘deeper truths,’ will be a new and fascinating revelation from God’s Word, being given by that errant elder, or preacher and teacher. But essentially, these ‘deeper truths,’ and ‘new revelations’ are only a component of the ‘milk’ that the errant elder, or preacher and teacher has received from the Holy Spirit and has passed on to others, and not any ‘solid food.’ Carefully examine, evaluate, analyse, and understand the preaching and teachings of such preachers and teachers. You will find that they never go beyond the six elementary principles and their related aspects. Their ‘visions’ remain confined only to the ‘spiritual milk.’ They drink this ‘milk,’ and they keep dispensing this ‘milk’ to others.

But when one ponders over Hebrews 5:10-12, as shown in the previous article, it becomes apparent that the Christian Believers are expected to rise higher, go beyond these elementary principles, to become ‘teachers’, and not remain stuck at this elementary stage. Just think of what glories, what revelations, what fascinating, unimaginable, indescribable heavenly visions God has kept available for those of His children (1 Corinthians 2:9-10; 2 Corinthians 12:1-4) who would stop being stubborn, would stop learning from imperfect, fallible men, subject themselves to the Holy Spirit, and make diligent efforts to learn God’s Word from Him, their actual Teacher, given to them for God for learning God’s Word. We get a glimpse of these magnificent glories from the experience of Paul (2 Corinthians 12:1-7), who was committed to learn only from God, and not be a man-pleaser (Galatians 1:10). But those who insist on learning from imperfect, fallible men and their works, why should they expect the Holy Spirit to teach them anything, when they are unwilling to submit to His authority, and be diligent to learn, accept, and apply His instructions in their lives?

Moreover, as the Holy Spirit has written in the Bible, no additions or subtractions to God’s Word are permissible (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19). Therefore, being the Spirit of Truth, He will never agree to anything unBiblical or untrue or false to be mixed and served with His teachings. He will never go with any unBiblical things added to the Biblical teachings; least of all anything of human thoughts and wisdom to be added to God’s Word, and presented as God’s truth. Give it a serious thought, if this mixing of man’s teachings in God’s Word were to be permitted, then, this would be a subtle satanic way of corrupting God’s Word, of justifying the false interpretations and wrong teachings, and thereby creating grounds to create doubts about and to falsify God’s Word, make it unreliable and unacceptable.

From the next article we will start looking at how a Believer should start learning from God the Holy Spirit, to grow up and be mature, and to live an overcoming life. 

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर द्वारा, उसके उद्धार पाने के पल से ही, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा प्रदान किया गया है, मसीही जीवन जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे निर्धारित की गई सेवकाई का निर्वाह करने के लिए। पवित्र आत्मा उस में उसका सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक बन कर आजीवन निवास करता है। परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के भण्डारी होने के नाते, विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर के वचन में से उसकी सहायता और सेवाओं को योग्य रीति से उपयोग करना सीखना चाहिए। पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा विश्वासियों को सिखाई जाने वाली बातों में से एक है परमेश्वर का वचन, बाइबल (यूहन्ना 14:26)। किन्तु बहुत ही कम विश्वासी उस से सीखते हैं; उस की बजाए, वे मनुष्यों और पुस्तकों से सीखने लगते हैं। ऐसा इसलिए होता है क्योंकि पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए उस के प्रति एक अनुशासन की, समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता की आवश्यकता होती है। मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से सीखने में कुछ खतरे होते हैं, क्योंकि, मनुष्य चाहे कितना भी भक्त और परमेश्वर के प्रति समर्पित जन क्यों न हो, लेकिन फिर भी वह गलती करने वाला और असिद्ध रहता है। और उसकी असिद्धता की, गलतियों की बातें उसके जीवन और कार्यों में कभी-कभी प्रकट होती ही रहती हैं। इसलिए गलती करने वाले और असिद्ध मनुष्यों और उनके द्वारा लिखी गई पुस्तकों पर निर्भर करने से विश्वासी गलतियों में पड़ने और शैतान द्वारा बहकाए जाने के खतरे में बना रहता है।

हाल के कुछ लेखों में हम विश्वासियों द्वारा परमेश्वर का वचन पवित्र आत्मा की बजाए मनुष्यों से सीखने के बारे में विचार कर रहे हैं। कारणों में से एक है, कुछ विश्वासियों का कुछ अगुवों और प्रचारकों को बहुत आदर-समान का स्तर देकर, उन पर अँध-विश्वास करना। इसलिये उन लोगों में, अपने मन-पसन्द अगुवों और प्रचारकों की कही गई हर बात को, बिना पहले बाइबल से जाँचे-परखे, यूँ ही स्वीकार कर लेने, और उसका पालन करने लगने की दृढ़ और हठीली प्रवृत्ति रहती है। उनका यह ढिठाई से मनुष्यों का अनुसरण का रवैया, उन्हें अपरिपक्व और शारीरिक मसीही बना देता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:3-4)। ऐसे विश्वासी ‘दूध’ के सिवाए, और कुछ भी नहीं पचा पाते हैं; अर्थात, मसीहीयत के आधारभूत सिद्धान्तों से परे और कुछ भी स्वीकार करने और सीखने नहीं पाते हैं। पिछले लेख में हम इस स्थान पर आकर रुके थे कि उनके इस ढीठ रवैये के कारण और कठोर हो कर सुधरने की कोई इच्छा नहीं रखने के कारण, पवित्र आत्मा को पीछे हटना पड़ता है, और उसे उन्हें उन के चुने हुए साधनों पर छोड़ देना पड़ता है। किन्तु क्योंकि परमेश्वर प्रेम और धैर्य रखने वाला परमेश्वर है, वह उन्हें त्याग नहीं देता है, वरन उन्हें केवल ‘दूध’ जिसे वे पचा सकते हैं देता रहता है। किन्तु मसीही विश्वास तथा परमेश्वर के वचन में उनकी शिक्षा इस से आगे नहीं बढ़ने पाती है। आज हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे।

यह ‘दूध’, आधारभूत बातें, अर्थात् वे आरंभिक सिद्धान्त, जिन्हें नए विश्वासियों को जानना और सीखना चाहिए, हमें इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दिए गए हैं, “इसलिये आओ मसीह की शिक्षा की आरम्भ की बातों को छोड़ कर, हम सिद्धता की ओर आगे बढ़ते जाएं, और मरे हुए कामों से मन फिराने, और परमेश्वर पर विश्वास करने, और बपतिस्मों और हाथ रखने, और मरे हुओं के जी उठने, और अन्‍तिम न्याय की शिक्षा रूपी नेव, फिर से न डालें।” ये संख्या में छः हैं, और पश्चाताप से लेकर अन्तिम न्याय तक का सारा क्रम इन में पाया जाता है। इब्रानियों 5:12 से प्रतीत होता है कि उस समय में मसीही विश्वास की इन आरंभ की बातों का सिखाया जाना निर्धारित कार्य होता था। लेकिन दुःख की बात है कि आज अधिकांश मसीही, चाहे उन्हें नया जन्म पाए हुए कई वर्ष ही क्यों न हो गए हों, इन के बारे शायद ही कुछ जानते हैं। इसलिए, इन छः बातों को प्रत्येक मसीही को सिखाया जाना निर्धारित पाठ्यक्रम होना चाहिए।

इब्रानियों 5:11-12 हमारे सामने कुछ महत्वपूर्ण बातें लाता है:

• पहली, क्योंकि इब्रानियों की पत्री के पाठक उन्हें सिखाई गई इन आरंभ की बातों के बारे में भूल गए थे, इसलिए उन का अपने मसीही जीवनों में बढ़ना और परिपक्व होना रुक गया था। यदि वे उन सिद्धांतों का पालन करते रहते, तो यह आशा की जाती थी कि वे ‘शिक्षक’ हो जाते और ‘ठोस भोजन’, या अन्न खाने और पचाने वाले परिपक्व जन बन जाते।

• दूसरी, मसीही जीवन में बढ़ोतरी और परिपक्वता विश्वास में आने से ले कर अभी तक के बीते समय के आधार पर नहीं है, बल्कि विश्वासियों के रवैये और व्यवहार के आधार पर है। प्रेरित पौलुस अपने युवा शिष्य तीमुथियुस को इफिसुस की कलीसिया में गलतियों को सुधारने के लिए अकेला छोड़ सका (1 तीमुथियुस 1:3-4)। जिन मसीही विश्वासियों के जीवन में डाह, झगड़े, और विभाजन है, वे बाइबल के मानकों के अनुसार अभी भी अपरिपक्व और शारीरिक विश्वासी हैं (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:3)। इस से कोई अन्तर नहीं पड़ता है कि वे विश्वास में चाहे कितने भी लंबे समय से क्यों न हों, विश्वासियों में उनका स्तर चाहे कुछ भी हो, और परमेश्वर के वचन के बारे में वे चाहे कितना भी ज्ञान क्यों न रखते हों। इसलिए वे केवल इन छः आरंभिक सिद्धांतों को ही सीखने, स्वीकार करने, और समझने भर की क्षमता रखते हैं।

• तीसरा, मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए ‘ठोस भोजन’ या अन्न, जैसा कि यहाँ इब्रानियों 5:12 में लिखा है, और प्रेरित पौलुस ने 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:2 में कहा है, परमेश्वर के वचन की वो शिक्षाएँ और दर्शन हैं जो इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में कही गई इन छः बातों से अधिक गूढ़ और गंभीर हैं, उदाहरण के लिए मसीह की सेवकाई और मलिकिसिदक (इब्रानियों 5:10)।

• चौथा, इन आरंभिक बातों को भूल जाना, इनके प्रति लापरवाह होना, इनकी अनदेखी करना, मसीही विश्वासी को अपरिपक्व बना देता है, उसे परमेश्वर के वचन की गूढ़ बातों को ग्रहण करने और समझने के अयोग्य कर देता है, और उसे ठोस भोजन नहीं बल्कि लौट कर फिर से केवल ‘दूध’ लेने वाला बना देता है। क्योंकि तब वह ऊँचा सुनने लगता है और उसे समझा पाना कठिन हो जाता है (इब्रानियों  5:11)।

हम अगले लेख में यहाँ से और आगे चलेंगे तथा देखेंगे। 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 8

 

The Holy Spirit of God, has been given to every Christian Believer by God at the moment of his salvation, to always reside in him as his Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide. He has been given to help the Believer in living his Christian life and fulfilling his God assigned ministry responsibilities. As stewards of the Holy Spirit, the Believers have to learn from God’s Word to utilize His help and services worthily. One of the things the Holy Spirit teaches to the Believers is God’s Word, the Bible (John 14:26). But not many Believers learn from Him; instead, they turn to learning from men and books. This is because learning from the Holy Spirit requires discipline, a commitment, and obedience to Him. Learning from man and his works has its dangers, since no man, no matter how godly and committed to God he may be, but he is still fallible and imperfect. And this fallibility, this imperfection keeps showing up every now and then in his life and works. Therefore, relying upon fallible, imperfect men and the books written by them leaves the Believers open to falling into errors and being misled by Satan.

In the recent articles, we have been considering about the Believers learning God’s Word not from the Holy Spirit, but from men. One of the reasons is some Believers hold some leaders and preachers in very high esteem, and have blind faith in them for everything. Therefore, they have an obstinate tendency to blindly accept and follow whatever their esteemed leaders and preachers say and teach. They stubbornly and persistently ignore the Biblical command to first evaluate and verify it from the Bible. This persistent attitude of following men, makes those Believers immature and carnal Christians (1 Corinthians 3:3-4). Such Believers are incapable of digesting anything but ‘milk’, i.e., incapable of accepting and learning anything beyond the basic elementary principles of Christianity. In the last article we had stopped at the point that because of this stubborn attitude, and being resistant to corrections, the Holy Spirit has to step back in the lives of such Believers, and leave them to their own chosen devices. God being a God of love, being long-suffering, He does not abandon them, but keeps on feeding them with the ‘milk’ that they can take and digest. But their learning in Christian faith and Word of God does not go beyond this. Today we will carry on about this from this point onwards.

This ‘milk’, the basics, i.e., the elementary principles that the beginners need to know and learn, are given to us in Hebrews 6:1-2, “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.” They are six in number, and cover the whole spectrum from repentance up to eternal judgement. In other words, all the aspects of Christian life are covered in these six topics. From Hebrews 5:12, it seems that teaching these elementary principles was then the standard practice. But sadly speaking, today most Christians, despite being Born-Again Believers for many years, know hardly anything significant about them. Hence these six principles ought to be the standard teaching and learning curriculum for all Christians.

Hebrews 5:11-12 brings some important points before us:

• Firstly, Because the recipients of the letter to Hebrews had forgotten what they had been taught about these elementary principles, therefore they had stopped growing and maturing in their Christian lives. Had they continued to follow these principles, the expectation was that they would have become ‘teachers’ and matured to be those who would take and digest ‘solid food.’

• Secondly, Christian growth and maturity is not according to the time one has been in the faith, but by attitudes and behaviour of the Believers. The Apostle Paul could leave Timothy his young pupil alone, to correct the errors in the Church at Ephesus (1 Timothy 1:3-4). The Christian Believers who have envy, strife, and divisions in their lives, by Biblical standards, they are still immature and carnal Christians (1 Corinthians 3:3). Irrespective of however long they might have been in the faith, no matter what their status may be amongst the Believers, and howsoever knowledgeable they may be about God’s Word. Therefore, they are only capable of learning, accepting, and understanding things related to these six elementary principles.

• Thirdly, the ‘solid food’ for the Christian Believers, as written here in Hebrew 5:12, and as the Apostle Paul has said in 1 Corinthians 3:2, are teachings and expositions of God’s Word that are deeper and more profound than what is covered in these six elementary principles that  are stated in Hebrews 6:1-2; e.g., things about Christ’s ministry and Melchizedek (Hebrews 5:10).

• Fourthly, forgetting, or overlooking, or ignoring these basic elementary principles, leads to loss of maturity in the Christian Believer, rendering him incapable of receiving and understanding the deeper things of God’s Word, and reverting him to requiring being fed only milk, not solid food. Since then they become dull of hearing, and it becomes something hard to explain to them (Hebrews 5:11).

We will carry on further about this in the next article.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम यह विचार करते आ रहे हैं कि क्यों मसीही विश्वासी सामान्यतः पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने में असफल रहते हैं। परमेश्वर ने अपना पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासियों में निवास करने के लिए उसी पल से उन्हें दे दिया है, जब से उन्होंने उद्धार पाया है। अर्थात्, अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके प्रभु यीशु मसीह को अपना उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण करने के द्वारा परमेश्वर के राज्य में नया जन्म प्राप्त किया है। विश्वासी के पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त करने के क्षण से ही वह पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी भी हो जाता है। पवित्र आत्मा को विश्वासी का सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया गया है, ताकि वह उसके मसीही जीवन में उसकी सहायता करे कि वह उसे परमेश्वर के द्वारा सौंपी गई सेवकाई का निर्वाह भली-भाँति कर सके। इसलिए यह प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए अनिवार्य है कि वह परमेश्वर के वचन में से पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में सीखे, जिस से कि उसकी सहायता को योग्य रीति से उपयोग कर सके।

    यद्यपि पवित्र आत्मा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में निवास करता है(1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19), और उसे परमेश्वर का वचन सिखाएगा (यूहन्ना 14:26), फिर भी अधिकाँश मसीही विश्वासी पवित्र आत्मा से परमेश्वर का वचन नहीं सीखते हैं। हाल के लेखों में हम उन के यह करने के कारणों को देख रहे हैं, और वर्तमान में विश्वासियों के पवित्र आत्मा की बजाए मनुष्यों और पुस्तकों से सीखने की प्रवृत्ति, और उनके आत्मिक जीवन पर इसके दुखद परिणामों पर विचार कर रहे हैं। उनका यह करना उनके परमेश्वर के वचन को ठीक से और सही सीखने में, और उनकी आत्मिक उन्नति होने में बाधा डालता है। जैसे बच्चों में अपने शिक्षकों पर अन्ध-विश्वास रखते हुए उन को बहुत मान-सम्मान देने की प्रवृत्ति होती है, वैसे ही कई मसीहियों में कुछ प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों पर अन्ध-विश्वास रखने और उन को बहुत आदर-मान देने की प्रवृत्ति होती है। परिणामस्वरूप, बजाए परमेश्वर के वचनों के सत्यों का पालन करने के, वे उन लोगों का और उनकी शिक्षाओं का - चाहे वे सही हों अथवा गलत, उचित हों अथवा अनुचित, अनुसरण करने लगते हैं; बिना पहले परमेश्वर के वचन से उनकी पुष्टि किए हुए। आज हम इसे, पिछले लेख में हमने जहाँ पर इसे छोड़ा था, उस से और आगे देखेंगे।

    यह सामान्यतः देखा जाता है कि अधिकांश मसीही, विश्वासी भी, बिना कोई प्रश्न पूछे अपनी कलीसिया के अगुवों, प्रचारकों, और शिक्षकों की हर बात को स्वीकार कर लेते हैं, उस पर अँध-विश्वास कर लेते हैं। और साथ ही वे उन अगुवों और प्रचारकों के शब्दों, वाक्यांशों और हाव-भाव को भी अपने जीवनों में अपना लेते हैं, उन लोगों की नकल करने लगते हैं। बहुधा उन अगुवों और प्रचारकों द्वारा बोले जाने वाले ये शब्द और वाक्यांश बाइबल से ही लिए हुए होते हैं। किन्तु वे अगुवे और प्रचारक उन्हें अकसर जिस तरह से उपयोग करते हैं, सिखाते हैं, और बढ़ावा देते हैं, वैसे तथा उस अर्थ के साथ बाइबल में उनका उपयोग कहीं देखने को नहीं मिलता है। अर्थात, वे बाइबल की बातों का, अपनी ही समझ के अनुसार, बाइबल से भिन्न रीति से उपयोग करते हैं, तथा औरों को भी ऐसा ही करना सिखाते हैं। और कुछ मसीही लोगों का उन अगुवों और प्रचारकों के प्रति अँध-विश्वास, बाइबल से बाहर की इन बातों को भी उनके मनों में गहराई से बैठा देता है। यहाँ तक कि वे फिर अपने जीवनों को बाइबल के सत्यों के अनुरूप करने के लिए अपने में किसी भी बदलाव को लाने के प्रति अनिच्छुक और असहमत रहते हैं। यह तब भी बना रहता है, जब उन्हें वे गलतियाँ बाइबल से ही क्यों न दिखाई और स्पष्ट की जाएँ। यदि उन से जान-बूझकर उन गलतियों में बने रहने के कारण बारे में पूछा जाए, तो उनके पास केवल उस स्कूल के बच्चे के समान ही स्पष्टीकरण होता है - ‘क्योंकि मेरा शिक्षक यह कहता और करता है’, और/अथवा ‘क्योंकि मेरे कक्षा के अन्य लोग भी यही कहते और करते हैं।’

    ये मसीही इन मनुष्यों की इन शिक्षाओं के इतने वशीभूत रहते हैं कि चाहे वे अपनी और अपने आदरणीय अगुवों और प्रचारकों की बातों के लिए बाइबल से कोई आधार अथवा स्पष्टीकरण न देने पाएँ, और न ही उसके लिए बाइबल से कोई उदाहरण अथवा प्रमाण देने पाएँ, लेकिन फिर भी वे मनुष्यों की बातों के द्वारा सिखाई गई गलतियों में बने रहना अधिक पसन्द करते हैं, बजाए अपने आप को परमेश्वर के वचन के सत्य के आधार पर सुधारने और सँवारने के। कुछ मसीही तो, आदत के अनुसार, अपनी प्रार्थनाओं और आराधना में, कुछ बाइबल से संबंधित अथवा धार्मिक प्रतीत होने वाले मन-पसन्द शब्दों और वाक्यांशों को, लगभग हर बोले गए वाक्य में बारंबार दोहराते रहते हैं, बिना अपने द्वारा बोले जाने वाले शब्दों पर कोई ध्यान दिए अथवा विचार किए। यदि उन से उनके द्वारा बारंबार और व्यर्थ में दोहराए और कहे जाने वाले शब्दों और वाक्यांशों के बारे कोई स्पष्टीकरण पूछे, तो उस पूछे जाने को वे अपमानजनक समझते हैं, अपने लिए भी और उस अगुवे या शिक्षक के लिए भी जिस से उन्होंने उन बातों को सीखा है। उन्हें इसके बारे में प्रभु यीशु की (मत्ती 6:7-8) तथा राजा सुलैमान में होकर पवित्र आत्मा की शिक्षा (सभोपदेशक 5:1-2) की कोई परवाह नहीं होती है। 

    तो फिर ऐसी मनसा रखने वाले लोगों को, जो अपनी ऐसी ढीठ प्रवृत्ति के द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने की अवहेलना करके उस को निष्क्रिय कर देते हैं, उन्हें पवित्र आत्मा कैसे और क्या सिखा सकता है? यह एक प्रकार से उस गतिरोध के समान है जिसका प्रभु यीशु को अपने नगर में सामना करना पड़ा था। जिस पर प्रभु ने अचंभा भी किया, और जिसके कारण वह अपने नगर में कोई बड़ा आश्चर्यकर्म नहीं कर सका (मरकुस 6:1-16)। और उस के समान भी है, जिसका सामना पौलुस को आरंभ में कुरिन्थुस में करना पड़ा था, यहूदियों ने उसका विरोध किया, निन्दा की, और प्रेरित पौलुस को आराधनालय के निकट के एक घर में जा कर अपनी सेवकाई को ज़ारी रखना पड़ा (प्रेरितों 18:1-7)। इसी प्रकार से विश्वासी में निवास करने वाले पवित्र आत्मा को भी, परमेश्वर के सत्यों के प्रति इस घोर प्रतिरोध के सामने खामोश होकर पीछे हट जाना पड़ता है; वह विश्वासी को छोड़ता या त्यागता तो नहीं है, बस शान्त हो जाता है।

    हमारे लिए अद्भुत और बचा लेने वाली अनुग्रहपूर्ण बात यह है कि हमारा परमेश्वर बहुत सहनशील, और बहुत धैर्य रखने वाला परमेश्वर है, जो अपने बच्चों से वर्णन से बाहर प्रेम करता है। यद्यपि वे सीखने के लिए तैयार नहीं है, फिर भी वह उन्हें आत्मिक अकाल में पड़कर मुरझाने और सूख जाने से बचाए रखता है, कुछ न कुछ आत्मिक पोषण प्रदान करता ही रहता है। जैसे प्रभु यीशु अपने नगर से कुछ किए बिना नहीं गया, चाहे वह थोड़े से बीमार लोगों को चँगा करना मात्र था (मरकुस 6:5); और जैसे पौलुस आराधनालय के निकट ही यहूदियों और अन्य जातियों को प्रचार करता और सिखाता रहा, और कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली बन गई (प्रेरितों 18:6-8); उसी प्रकार से पवित्र आत्मा भी इन ढीठ ‘मसीही शिशुओं’ को वह पोषण देता रहता है, जिसे वह पचा सकते हैं - मसीही शिक्षा की आरंभिक बातों का दूध। इसके बारे में हम अगले लेख में आगे देखेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। सवेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 7

 

    For the past few articles, we have been considering why the Christian Believers often fail to learn from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has been given to them by God to reside in them, from the very moment they are saved. That is, they Born-Again into the Kingdom of God, by repenting from their sins and accepting the Lord Jesus as their savior. From the moment of receiving the Holy Spirit, the Believer also becomes a steward of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given to be the Believer’s Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide, to help him live his Christian life and fulfil his God assigned ministry. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the Christian Believers to learn about the Holy Spirit from God’s Word, and learn God’s Word from Him to be able to utilize His help worthily.

    Even though the Holy Spirit resides in the Christian Believer (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19), and will teach him God’s Word (John 14:26), yet most Believers do not learn God’s Word from the Holy Spirit. In the recent articles we have been looking at the reasons for this failure, and presently have been considering the tendency of the Believers to learn from men and books, rather than from the Holy Spirit; and the sad effects this has on their spiritual life. Their doing this obstructs their properly and correctly learning God’s Word, and hampers their spiritual growth. As children have the tendency of having blind faith in their teachers and holding them in high esteem, similarly some Christians in blind-faith on them, tend to hold certain preachers and teachers in high esteem. Consequently, instead of following the truths of God’s Word, they start emulating some people and their teachings – whether they are correct or incorrect, right or wrong; without first verifying them from God’s Word. Today we will consider this further, moving ahead from where we left at this point in the last article.

    It is often seen that most Christians, even the Believers, blindly believe and accept everything their Church elders and teachers say, without asking any questions. They also adopt the words, phrases, and mannerisms etc. of those leaders and preachers into their own lives. Often these words and phrases commonly spoken by these leaders and preachers, are Biblical. But these words and phrases are used, taught, and promoted by those leaders and preachers to say and mean things quite different than what is given in the Bible. In other words, they use Biblical things, according to their own understanding, in a manner quite different from the way they are said and used in the Bible, and also teach others to do the same. But the blind faith of some Christians in these leaders and preachers, gets these extra-Biblical things very deeply ingrained into them. So much so that they are very reluctant and resistant to accept or consider making any changes in their lives to conform to the Biblical truth. This remains, even when the errors are pointed out and Biblical facts are made clear to them. If asked about their wilful persistence in their errors, the only justification they give is like that of the school-child - ‘because my teacher says so and does it like this’, and/or, ‘because others in my class also do it like this.’ 

    These Christians are so carried away by these teachings of men, that though they may not be able to give any Biblical support, or any example from God’s Word for what they or their revered leaders and preachers say and do, but still, they would rather follow the errors of men, than correct themselves through the truth of God’s Word. Some Christians also develop a habit of using some Biblical or religious sounding pet words and phrases repetitively in practically every sentence they speak, in their prayers and worship, without putting their minds to it. If anyone asks for any clarifications about their habitually and needlessly repeating those words and phrases, they consider it as being disrespectful to them as well, as to their leader and teacher from whom they have learnt these things. They have no concern about the Lord Jesus’s (Matthew 6:7-8) and the Holy Spirit’s teachings given through King Solomon (Ecclesiastes 5:1-2). 

    So, to those who ignore and tie Him down with such a stubborn mind-set; simply refusing to learn and follow the truth, how and what can the Holy Spirit teach? It is something like the resistance the Lord Jesus experienced and marvelled at, that kept Him from doing any mighty works in His hometown (Mark 6:1-6). And also as the Apostle Paul initially faced in Corinth; when the Jews in Corinth refused to listen to the gospel but opposed him and blasphemed, was compelled to leave the synagogue and move to a house adjacent to the synagogue to continue his ministry (Acts 18:1-7). Similarly, the Holy Spirit, residing in the Believer, does not abandon him but quietly steps back in the face of such obstinate resistance to the truths of God’s Words.

    But the marvellous thing and saving grace for us is that our God is a very tolerant and very long-suffering God; one who loves His children with an indescribable love. Even though they are unwilling to learn, He does not leave them to spiritually wither off without receiving any spiritual nourishment; He still keeps feeding them sufficient spiritual sustenance. Just as the Lord Jesus did not leave without doing something, even if it was healing a few sick people (Mark 6:5); and Paul continued to preach and teach adjacent to the synagogue to the Jews and Gentiles, and the Church in Corinth was established (Acts 18:6-8); similarly the Holy Spirit continues to feed these stubborn ‘babes in Christ’ that which they can handle – the spiritual milk of elementary principles. We will see about this in the next article.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

प्रत्येक वास्तव में नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को, उनके उद्धार पाने के क्षण से ही, उन में निवास करने के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा प्रदान किया गया है।  पवित्र आत्मा उन्हें उनका सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया गया है, उनके मसीही जीवन जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई सेवकाई को योग्य रीति से पूरा करने के लिए। इसलिए, प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाया हुया मसीही विश्वासी, परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रदान किए गये अन्य प्रावधानों के समान ही, पवित्र आत्मा के भण्डारी भी है। एक योग्य भण्डारी होने के लिये, प्रत्येक विश्वासी के लिये यह अनिवार्य है कि पवित्र आत्मा की सेवाओं का उचित रीति से उपयोग करना सीखे, जिस से वह विश्वास में, और परमेश्वर की सेवा करने में बढ़े। मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर का वचन भी पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना चाहिए, क्योंकि यह उन का एक कार्य है (यूहन्ना 14:26)। 

किन्तु पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए पवित्र आत्मा के प्रति एक अनुशासन, सीखने की वासत्विक लालसा, आज्ञाकारिता, और प्रतिबद्धता चाहिए होती है, और यह बहुधा विश्वासियों को कठिन लगता है। तीन मुख्य कारण हैं जिन के कारण अधिकाँश विश्वासी पवित्र आत्मा से सीख नहीं पाते हैं, यद्यपि वह उन्हें सिखाना चाहता है, उन की प्रतीक्षा करता है। इन तीन में से हम पहले दो कारणों को देख चुके हैं, और अब तीसरे कारण को देख रहे हैं, कि क्यों, पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने में खराई के साथ यत्न करने के स्थान पर विश्वासी आसान मार्ग को चुन लेते हैं, और वचन सीखने के लिए मनुष्यों तथा पुस्तकों पर निर्भर करने लगते हैं, जो उन्हें शैतान की युक्तियों और चालाकियों में पड़ने के खतरे में फँसा देता है। सामान्यतः, विश्वासी अपनी कलीसिया के प्राचीनों, अगुवों, और वचन के प्रचारकों, तथा शिक्षकों पर बड़ी सहजता से निर्भर हो जाते हैं, उन पर ऐसा भरोसा करते हैं कि उनकी बातों पर अँध-विश्वास करने लगते हैं।

हम देख चुके हैं कि कोई भी मनुष्य सिद्ध और अचूक नहीं है, और हमने परमेश्वर के वचन के उदाहरणों से देखा था कि कैसे परमेश्वर के सबसे भक्त लोगों ने भी गलतियाँ की हैं तथा अपने और दूसरों पर परेशानियाँ लाए हैं। क्योंकि प्रत्येक मनुष्य असिद्ध और गलती करने वाला होता है, इसलिए उन की शिक्षाएँ और स्वयं उनके द्वारा की गई रचनाएँ भी असिद्ध और गलतियों वाली होती हैं। इसीलिए बाइबल की यही शिक्षा है कि किसी भी शिक्षा को स्वीकार और पालन करने से पहले उसे परमेश्वर के वचन से जाँच-परख लेना चाहिए, और यदि सही हो तभी उसे स्वीकार करना और उसका पालन करना चाहिये (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। इसीलिए, जो लोग मनुष्यों से ही सीखने को प्राथमिकता देते हैं, उन्हीं की शिक्षाओं पर निर्भर रहते हैं, वे न केवल शैतान के द्वारा बहकाए जा कर झूठी शिक्षाओं तथा गलत सिद्धान्तों में पड़ जाने के खतरे में भी रहते हैं, बल्कि अपने विश्वास में तथा परमेश्वर के वचन में ठीक से बढ़ने और परिपक्व भी नहीं हो पाते हैं। आज हम इस तीसरे कारण, कि परमेश्वर के लोग भी गलतियाँ करते हैं, को वहाँ से और आगे देखना आरंभ करेंगे जहाँ पर पिछले लेख में छोड़ा था।

इसे एक और उदाहरण से समझिए। आज अनेकों बाइबल कमेंट्री उपलब्ध हैं, और प्रत्येक कमेंट्री परमेश्वर के वचन के माननीय विद्वानों द्वारा लिखी और संपादित की गई है, वे सभी परमेश्वर के प्रति समर्पित और प्रतिबद्ध लोग हैं। ये सभी अपने प्रयास के द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन के सत्यों को लोगों की सहायता करने के लिये प्रस्तुत करना चाहते हैं। और ये सभी यही दावा करते हैं कि उन्होंने प्रार्थनाओं, भक्ति और आदर के साथ, पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में उस कमेंट्री को तैयार किया है, उन्हें उपलब्ध बाइबल संबंधित अध्ययन-शील सामग्री का उचित उपयोग किया है। लेकिन फिर भी यह सामान्यतः देखा जाता है कि बाइबल के खण्डों की व्याख्या और दिए गए स्पष्टीकरणों में भिन्न कॅमेनट्रियों में अंतर होते हैं। और ये अंतर व्याख्या करने वालों की व्यक्तिगत समझ या राय तथा उन पर उनके मत या डिनौमिनेशन की शिक्षाओं के प्रभाव के कारण आ जाते हैं। कभी-कभी कुछ अन्य समर्पित और प्रतिबद्ध विद्वान विश्वासी उनकी आलोचना करते हैं, उन में विरोधाभास देखते हैं और उनकी बड़ी दृढ़ता और दावे के साथ कही गई कुछ बातों को गलत भी प्रमाणित कर देते हैं। तो जब इस प्रकार की बातें हमारे सामने आती हैं, तो हम उनके बारे में क्या सोचते हैं? क्या पवित्र आत्मा लोगों को भिन्न और परस्पर विरोधी बातें लिखवाता और भ्रम में डालता है? या, क्या पवित्र आत्मा मसीहीयों के मध्य में भिन्न व्याख्या और राय देने के द्वारा, मतभेद उत्पन्न कर रहा है? यह कहना तो दूर, ऐसा सोचना भी परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध ईश-निंदा से कतई कम नहीं है। इसलिए, इसे समझ पाने का एकमात्र आधार है ‘मानवीय त्रुटि’ – मनुष्य हमेशा ही असिद्ध, गलती करने वाला मनुष्य ही रहेगा; हमेशा ही गलती करने की प्रवृत्ति रखेगा, हमेशा परमेश्वर के वचन और शिक्षाओं में अपनी ही व्याख्या, विचार, और राय डालने वाला रहेगा। और इसीलिये उसे बहुधा सुधरने की आवश्यकता होगी; वह चाहे कोई भी हो, कितना भी प्रतिष्ठित क्यों न हो, कितना ही ज्ञानवान क्यों न हो।

अकसर, सामान्यतः आदर दिखाने के लिए या परमेश्वर के वचन को प्रभावी रीति से प्रचार करने और शिक्षा देने के उद्देश्य से, परमेश्वर के कुछ समर्पित और प्रतिबद्ध लोग भी बाइबल की कुछ बातों, वाक्यांशों, और तथ्यों को बाइबल के बाहर के अर्थ या बाइबल से विपरीत अर्थ के साथ प्रस्तुत करने लगते हैं। साथ ही मनुष्यों द्वारा उनकी डिनौमिनेशन की धारणाओं के अनुरूप बनाई गई शिक्षाओं, रीतियों और दी जाने वाली प्राथमिकताओं की भी कोई कमी नहीं है; और फिर लोग अपनी व्यक्तिगत समझ, विचार और राय भी इन बातों में डालते रहते हैं। और यह सब करने के बाद वे इन सभी बातों को या तो ‘परमेश्वर का वचन’ (मत्ती 15:9), या परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार तथ्य कह कर लोगों को सिखाते हैं। ऐसी बातों से कई विश्वासी गलत मार्ग पर चल पड़ते हैं, और बाइबल के बाहर की, त्रुटिपूर्ण शिक्षाओं को तथा मनुष्यों द्वारा बनाए गए सिद्धान्तों को ही, परमेश्वर के सत्य मान लेते हैं, जो कि वह बात नहीं हैं। एक भली-भाँति जाना-माना किन्तु दुखदायी तथ्य है कि कुछ विश्वासी न केवल उनकी कलीसिया के अगुवों और शिक्षकों के द्वारा कही जाने वाली हर बात को अँध-विश्वास के साथ स्वीकार कर लेते हैं, बल्कि उन प्राचीनों और शिक्षकों के द्वारा उपयोग किए जाने वाले शब्दों, वाक्यांशों, और अभिव्यक्तियों के हाव-भाव की, अपने जीवनों में नकल भी करने लगते हैं। मनुष्यों के प्रति उनकी वफादारी इतनी अधिक होती है कि वे उन मनुष्यों द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन के असत्य को ही स्वीकार करना और मानना पसंद करते हैं, बजाए परमेश्वर के वचन के सत्य के अनुसार अपने आप को सुधारने और वचन का, उसकी सच्चाई के अनुसार पालन करने के; बाइबल के वास्तविक सत्यों को उनके सामने स्पष्टता से प्रस्तुत किए जाने के बाद भी। परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के स्थान पर, किसी मनुष्य को इस प्रकार से ऊंचे पर उठाना, मनुष्य को वरियता देना, उनके अपने आत्मिक जीवन में उन्नति तथा उनके परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने में बाधा बनता है, उनकी आशीषों को रोकता है।

हम अगले लेख में इसे और गए देखेंगे, और देखेंगे कि किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर के वचन की बजाए मनुष्य के वचन के प्रति विश्वासयोग्यता तथा प्रतिबद्धता मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन पर प्रभाव डालती है, उसे अपरिपक्व और शारीरिक बनाए रखती है।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 6

 

Every truly Born-Again Christian Believer has been given God the Holy Spirit, from the moment of their salvation, by God, to reside in them. The Holy Spirit has been given to be their Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide for their Christian living and fulfilling their God assigned ministry. Therefore, every Born-Again Christian Believer, along with the other provisions given to him by God, is also a steward of God the Holy Spirit. Hence, to be a worthy steward, it is imperative that he should learn about the Holy Spirit, to worthily utilize the Holy Spirit’s services, to grow and mature in faith, and for serving the Lord. The Christian Believer is to also learn God’s Word from Him, for that is one of His functions (John 14:26). 

But learning from the Holy Spirit requires discipline, sincere desire to learn, obedience, and commitment to Him on the part of the Christian Believer, which the Believers often find difficult to do. There are three main reasons why most Believers fail to learn from the Holy Spirit, though He is waiting and wanting to teach them. Of these three, we have seen the first two in the previous articles, and are now looking into the third one; i.e., why, instead of putting in a diligent effort to learn from the Holy Spirit, the Believers take the easy way out, and start depending upon men and books to learn God’s Word, and open themselves to the wiles of the devil. Usually the men that the Believers learn from and readily trust, often blindly, are their Church elders, leaders, preachers and teachers of God’s Word.

We have seen that no man is perfect and infallible, and had seen through examples from God’s Word how even the godliest of God’s people have made mistakes and brought problems upon themselves and others. Since all men are imperfect and fallible, therefore, their teachings and their own creative works are also imperfect and fallible. Hence the Biblical teaching is to first verify every teaching from God’s Word, irrespective of who it is coming through; and if found factual, only then to accept and follow it (Acts 17:11; 1 Corinthians 14:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). Therefore, those who primarily give importance to learning from men, and are dependant upon teachings of men, without first verifying those teachings from God’s Word and discerning the truth, they not only remain prone to be misled by Satan into false teachings and wrong doctrines, but also do not properly grow and mature in their faith and God’s Word. Today we will carry on from where we had left in the last article, on this third reason, that even men of God are prone to make errors.

Understand this through another example. Today numerous Bible Commentaries are available, and each Commentary has been written and edited by reputed scholars of God’s Word, all are committed people of God. To be helpful to others, they all want to present God’s truth through their works. And they all claim to have prepared the Commentary prayerfully, reverentially, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, using the various kinds of scholarly Biblical material available to them. But still, it is common to find variations or differences in interpretation and explanations of various Biblical texts in the different Commentaries. These differences are often due to the Commentator’s personal opinions and denominational influences upon them. Sometimes, some other committed Christian Believers and Bible scholars may even criticize, contradict, and disprove some things that have very authoritatively been stated by another committed Christian Believer, Bible scholar, and Commentator. So, when these things come before us, what do we think of it? Has the Holy Spirit been misleading people into writing variable or contradictory things? Or, has the Holy Spirit been creating differences in interpretation and opinions amongst Christians? To even think of this, let alone say it, is nothing short of blasphemy. Therefore, the only way of explaining it is the ‘human error’ - man will always be an imperfect, fallible man; always prone to making mistakes. Therefore, he will always be prone to add his own thoughts, interpretations, and opinions to God’s teachings. So, he will often be in need of being corrected, no matter who, how reputed, and how knowledgeable he may be.

Often, though reverentially, to preach and teach God’s Word emphatically, and in their efforts to glorify God, God’s committed Believers inadvertently start saying, preaching and teaching certain Biblical facts and phrases in an unBiblical manner, or even contradictory to Biblical teachings. Moreover, there is no lack of prevalence of man-made denominational teachings, preferences and practices; and also of people’s personal understanding, personal views and personal opinions. All these are mixed together and are taught or presented either as ‘God’s Word’ (Matthew 15:9), or taught to people as a factual Biblical teaching. These things mislead the Believers into wrongly accepting and falsely following those unBiblical or erroneous teachings and man-made denominational doctrines factually as God’s truth, which they are not. A well-known but sad fact is that some Believers usually not only blindly believe and accept everything their Church elders and teachers say, but they also adopt the words, phrases, and mannerisms etc. of those elders and teachers into their own lives. Such is their loyalty to men that they prefer to accept and use men’s misuse of God’s Word, rather than correct themselves and use God’s Word as it is, in its truth; even after the Biblical truths have been clearly presented to them. This exaltation of men, giving primacy to some person instead of God and His Word, creates problems in their spiritual growth, and learning God’s Word, and blocks their blessings.

We will look further into this in the next article, and see how loyalty to man’s word over and above commitment to be faithful to God’s Word affects the Christian Believers life, keeps him immature and carnal.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
