एक आशीषित और सफल जीवन जीने से संबंधित जो बातें हमने अभी तक 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 से सीखीं हैं, उनके पुनःअवलोकन को ज़ारी रखते हुए, आज भी हम परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए प्रावधानों के योग्य भण्डारी होने से संबंधित बातों के पुनःअवलोकन को आगे देखेंगे। आज से हम परमेश्वर द्वारा नया-जन्म पाए हुए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को दिए गए दूसरे प्रावधान, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी होने के बारे में सीखी गई बातों के पुनःअवलोकन को आरंभ करेंगे। प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने, अपने क्रूस पर चढ़ाने के लिए पकड़वाए जाने से पहले शिष्यों के साथ हुई अंतिम वार्तालाप में उन से वायदा किया था कि परमेश्वर पिता से उनके लिए वह एक सहायक, पवित्र आत्मा को भेजेगा। हम यूहन्ना 14 से 16 अध्याय में पवित्र आत्मा के कार्यों के बारे में प्रभु द्वारा शिष्यों को दी गई शिक्षाओं को पाते हैं। और फिर हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19 से देखते हैं कि पवित्र आत्मा प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी के अंदर, जो उसका मन्दिर है, निवास करता है।

प्रभु यीशु ने यूहन्ना 14:16 में कहा कि पवित्र आत्मा एक साथी के समान प्रत्येक विश्वासी के साथ हमेशा बना रहेगा, कि उसका सहायक हो। लेकिन इसका यह अर्थ नहीं है कि वह, परमेश्वर द्वारा विश्वासी को दिए गए निर्देशों को, विश्वासी के स्थान पर पूरा कर देगा। क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने जीवन और भक्ति तथा सँसार की सड़ाहट से बचने से संबंधित जो कुछ चाहिए था वह पहले से ही विश्वासियों को दे दिया है (2 पतरस 1:3-4), और उन्हें पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में इन प्रावधानों को स्वयं उपयोग में लाना है। इसलिए पवित्र आत्मा को अपने स्थान पर कार्य करने के लिये की गई हर प्रार्थना हमेशा बिना उत्तर की ही रहेगी, क्योंकि जिम्मेदारी विश्वासी को निभानी है, पवित्र आत्मा को नहीं। साथ ही, जब भी परमेश्वर अपने बच्चों से कुछ करने के लिए कहता है, तो उसे पता होता है कि वे क्या कर सकते हैं, और क्या नहीं; और वह उन से उन्हें उसके द्वारा प्रदान की गई क्षमताओं के अंतर्गत ही कुछ करने के लिए कहता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13)। इसलिए विश्वासी का यह कहना कि मैं यह, जो परमेश्वर ने मुझे करने के लिए कहा है, नहीं कर सकता हूँ, परमेश्वर के सर्वज्ञानी होने और जो वह अपने बच्चों से करने के लिए कहता है उसमें उसके सच्चा होने पर प्रश्न चिह्न उठाता है। प्रत्येक विश्वासी को हमेशा इस बात का भी ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा हमेशा ही उसके साथ बना रहता है, वह जहाँ भी जाता है, जो भी करता है, अपने समय का जैसे भी उपयोग करता है, आदि, उन सभी बातों में भी। इसलिए मसीही विश्वासियों को कभी भी ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं कहना या करना चाहिए जो पवित्र आत्मा को किसी भी तरह से शोकित करे (इफिसियों 4:30)।

यूहन्ना 14:17 से हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा सत्य का आत्मा है, और यही बात यूहन्ना 15:26 तथा यूहन्ना 16:13 में भी दोहराई गई है; जो पवित्र आत्मा के इस गुण के महत्व पर बहुत बल देता है। सीधे शब्दों में, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, कभी भी, किसी भी रीति से, तात्पर्यों में भी, ऐसी किसी भी बात के साथ जुड़ा हुआ नहीं होगा जो सत्य नहीं है। सभी आत्मिक बातों के लिए, जैसा कि प्रभु यीशु ने यूहन्ना 14:6 में कहा है, प्रभु ही सत्य है, और यूहन्ना 17:17 में प्रभु ने कहा कि परमेश्वर का वचन सत्य है; अर्थात, प्रभु और उसका वचन ही एकमात्र सत्य हैं। आत्मिक बातों से संबंधित जो भी बाइबल में नहीं लिखा गया है, वह सत्य नहीं है, और पवित्र आत्मा का उस बात के साथ कोई लेना-देना नहीं है। इसलिए ऐसी किसी भी बात के साथ जो सत्य नहीं है, अर्थात, जो बाइबल का लिखित तथ्य नहीं है, पवित्र आत्मा का कोई मार्गदर्शन होना संभव ही नहीं है। इसीलिए प्रेरितों 17:11 और 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:11 के निर्देशों – किसी भी बात को यूँ ही नहीं स्वीकार कर लो, वरन पहले प्रचार की तथा सिखाई जाने वाली हर बात को वचन से जाँचो और परखो (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29), और पुष्टि होने के बाद ही उसे स्वीकार करो, का निर्वाह करना अनिवार्य है।

एक बहुत सामान्य त्रुटि और गलतफहमी, जो बहुधा भक्ति में ही की जाती है, बाइबल के तथ्यों को उस तरह से उपयोग करने की है जैसे वे परमेश्वर के वचन में सिखाए या उपयोग नहीं किए गए हैं। लोग अकसर, यद्यपि श्रद्धा, भक्ति, और भली मनसा के साथ, किन्तु गलत रीति से बाइबल के कई वाक्यांशों और कथनों को उस प्रकार से उपयोग करते हैं, जैसा उनके विषय बाइबल में कहीं नहीं कहा अथवा दिया गया है। अपनी ही समझ और व्याख्या को वे नए दर्शन या प्रकाशन के समान प्रयोग और प्रचार करते हैं, ऐसे रूप में जो पहले से बाइबल में नहीं दिए गए। जो होना संभव ही नहीं है, क्योंकि परमेश्वर के वचन में न तो कुछ जोड़ा जा सकता है, और न ही कुछ निकाला जा सकता है, जैसा कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं। विश्वासी ऐसा परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने, प्रार्थनाओं को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाने, और यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए करते हैं कि उनकी प्रार्थनाएं पूरी हो जाएँ। दूसरे शब्दों में वे उन बातों को एक “मंत्र” के समान उपयोग करते हैं, जिनके द्वारा वे परमेश्वर को प्रार्थना में मांगी गई बात को पूरा करने के लिए मानो बाध्य कर रहे हों। थोड़ा विचार कीजिए, जो लोग इन शब्दों, बातों, और वाक्यांशों को नहीं बोलते हैं, परमेश्वर उनकी भी प्रार्थनाएं सुनता है, उनका उत्तर देता है; जबकि ऐसी बहुत सी प्रार्थनाएं हैं जो इन शब्दों, बातों, और वाक्यांशों को बारंबार और बल देकर बोलने पर भी बिना उत्तर मिले रह जाती हैं। तो फिर परमेश्वर से कुछ करवाने के लिए उन बातों और शब्दों का “मंत्र” के समान उपयोग करने का क्या औचित्य अथवा आवश्यकता है? यह करने से केवल व्यक्ति अनजाने में ही न केवल परमेश्वर के वचन में जोड़ने का दोषी बन जाता है, बल्कि असत्य का प्रचार करने, उसे सिखाने, और उसका पालन करने तथा करवाने का भी दोषी ठहरता है, और परमेश्वर को भी कठपुतली के समान अपनी इच्छा पूरी करने के लिये प्रयोग करने वाला ठहरता है।

अगले लेख में हम यूहन्ना 14:17 से कुछ और बातों का पुनःअवलोकन करेंगे, और फिर पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के बारे में पुनःअवलोकन पर जाएँगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Recapitulation – 5

Continuing with the recapitulation of what we have learnt so far regarding living a blessed and successful life from 1 Kings 2:2-4, we will recapitulate further about being stewards of God’s provisions. We will recapitulate what we have seen about the second provision of God given to every Born-Again Christian Believer, i.e., God the Holy Spirit, whose steward every Christian Believer is. The Lord Jesus Christ, in His last discourse with the disciples before His crucifixion, told them that He will ask the Father to send them a Helper, i.e., the Holy Spirit. In John chapters 14 to 16 He also taught them about the purposes of the Holy Spirit. And we see from 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19 that God the Holy Spirit dwells in every Born-Again Christian Believer, the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus, in John 14:16 said that the Holy Spirit will always stay alongside every Believer, as a companion to be the disciple’s Helper. But that does not mean that He will also function as the disciple’s substitute to fulfil his God given instructions for him. All such prayers, to use the Holy Spirit as our substitute will remain unanswered, since God has already given to every Believer everything that pertains to life and godliness and the way to escape the corruption of the world (2 Peter 1:3-4), and they have to fulfill their responsibilities in the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, every prayer for asking God to be their substitute, will always remain unanswered, since it is the Believers who are to fulfill their responsibilities, not the Holy Spirit. Moreover, when God asks His children to do something, He knows what they can do and what they cannot, and asks them to do within the limits of the capabilities He has given to them (1 Corinthians 10:13). Therefore, to claim that we are incapable of doing something God has asked us to do is to raise questions on God being omniscient and true about what He asks His children to do for Him. Every Believer should also stay aware of the fact that God the Holy Spirit is always with him, wherever he goes, whatever he does, however he utilizes his time. Hence Christian Believers should not say or do anything that grieves the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30) in any manner.

From John 14:17 we saw that God the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, and this has been repeated in John 15:26 and John 16:13 as well; which very strongly emphasizes on the importance of this attribute of the Holy Spirit. In simple terms, God the Holy Spirit will never in any way, not even through implications, be associated with anything that is not the truth. For all spiritual matters, as the Lord Jesus has said in John 14:6, the Lord is the Truth, and in John 17:17 the Lord said that God’s Word is the Truth; i.e., the Lord and His Word are the one and only Truth. Anything spiritual that is not written in the Bible, is not the truth; and the Holy Spirit will have nothing to do with it. We cannot have the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, in anything that is not the truth, i.e., is not a written Biblical fact. That is why the instructions of Acts 17:11 and 1 Thessalonians 5:21 - DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING, but always first cross-check and confirm each and everything being preached and taught from the Word of God (1 Corinthians 14:29), only then accept and believe.

A very common error and misunderstanding, often committed in piety, is to use Biblical facts in a manner they have not been taught or used in God's Word. People often, though reverentially, piously, and with good intentions, but erroneously, use Biblical facts in many phrases and statements in a manner that is not given about them in the Bible. Through their own understanding and interpretation they use them as some new revelations, in a manner that has not been given before in the Bible. This is something that simply cannot be true since nothing can be added to or taken away from God’s Word, as we have seen earlier. The Believers do this to try and please God, to seemingly make prayers more effective, and make sure that their prayers are fulfilled. In other words, they use these statements like a "mantra," a chant, through which they try to compel God to do what they are asking Him to do in their prayers. Think it over, the prayers of those who do not use these phrases are also heard and answered by God, while many prayers where these phrases have emphatically and repeatedly been used, still go unanswered. So, what is the rationale or necessity of using them like a "mantra," a chant, to get things done from God? This only makes the person inadvertently become guilty of not only adding to God’s Word, but also of preaching, teaching, and following an untruth, and of trying to manipulate God like a puppet to fulfill one’s own desires.

In the next article we will recapitulate about some more things from John 14:17; and then go on to recapitulate about learning from God the Holy Spirit.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

दाऊद ने 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 में, परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता और मार्गदर्शन में एक सफल और आशीषित जीवन जीने के लिए, हाल ही में इस्राएल का राजा बनाए गए अपने पुत्र सुलैमान को जो निर्देश दिए थे, इस श्रृंखला में हमने उनसे अभी तक जो सीखा है, हम उसका पुनःअवलोकन कर रहे हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा है कि शैतान किस तरह से परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट करता है कि वचन के सन्देश को अप्रभावी बना सके। शैतान यह काम अपने दूतों के द्वारा तथा परमेश्वर के समर्पित विश्वासियों को बहकाने और भरमाने के द्वारा भी करता है; उन्हें इसी गलतफहमी में डाल कर कि वे श्रद्धा और आदर के साथ परमेश्वर की सेवा कर रहे हैं, जबकि वास्तव में वे भ्रष्ट किये हुए वचन को सीखा और प्रचार कर रहे होते हैं। आज हम बाइबल में से शैतान द्वारा परमेश्वर के लोगों को बहकाने और भरमाने के उदाहरणों का पुनःअवलोकन करेंगे; और एक ऐसे उदाहरण को भी देखेंगे कि कैसे शैतान परमेश्वर के वचन के लेख ही का प्रयोग करते हुए भी, उस में ऐसे अर्थ और अभिप्राय, जो न तो लेख में दिए गए और न ही जिनके लाए जाने का कोई संकेत किया गया, जोड़ने के द्वारा वचन का दुरुपयोग करता है। और वह आज भी इस युक्ति का बहुत सफलता से मण्डलियों में ऐसे ही उपयोग कर रहा है। हम कुछ उदाहरणों को देखते हैं:

विश्वासियों को यह कभी नहीं भूलना चाहिए कि न केवल परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध कही गई बातें, बल्कि वे बातें जो कहीं तो परमेश्वर के पक्ष में गई हैं, किन्तु उस के सत्यों तथा बाइबल के तथ्यों और उनके अभिप्रायों के अनुसार नहीं हैं, वे भी परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं हैं, और उसके न्याय को न्यौता देती हैं। इस प्रकार से परमेश्वर के प्रति खरे और श्रद्धापूर्ण होते हुए भी, गलत तथा परमेश्वर को अस्वीकार्य होने का एक अच्छा उदाहरण है अय्यूब के मित्र। उन मित्रों ने अय्यूब की सम्पूर्ण पुस्तक में अय्यूब से परमेश्वर के पक्ष में होकर बात की, किन्तु परमेश्वर से संबंधित उनके कथनों और अभिप्रायों में गलतियाँ थीं, जिस कारण परमेश्वर उन से क्रोधित हुआ। यद्यपि परमेश्वर उन्हें दण्ड देना चाहता था, किन्तु उसने यह अय्यूब, जिस पर वे परमेश्वर के नाम में दोष लगा रहे थे, पर छोड़ दिया कि उनकी नियति का निर्णय करे। अय्यूब उनके लिए प्रार्थना करता है, और उन्हें उनके दण्ड से बचा लेता है (अय्यूब 42:7-10)।

इसी प्रकार से पौलुस, अपने परिवर्तन से पहले एक बहुत पढ़ा-लिखा और उत्साही फरीसी था, लेकिन उसने जो पवित्र शास्त्र से सीखा था उसकी गलत समझ रखने तथा परमेश्वर के प्रति कुछ गलतफहमियों के साथ उत्साही होने के कारण, यह समझते हुए कि वह परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सही है, परमेश्वर ही के अनुयायियों को सता रहा था (प्रेरितों 26:9-10)। उसके उद्देश्यों में कुछ गलत नहीं था – वह परमेश्वर से प्रेम करता था, उसके लिए कार्य करने के प्रति बहुत उत्साही था, और जितना उस से हो सकता था वह करने के लिए अथक परिश्रम करता था। इसीलिए, वह उन सभी लोगों को दण्ड देना चाहता था जो उसकी समझ के अनुसार परमेश्वर तथा उसके वचन के विमुख चलते थे। लेकिन दोष उसके परमेश्वर के वचन की समझ, और व्याख्या करने में था, जिसके कारण उसका रवैया और उसका व्यवहार गलत था। वह परमेश्वर के प्रति खरा और प्रतिबद्ध तो था, किन्तु गलत भी था। बाद में, जैसे कि पौलुस ने रोमियों 7:14-24 में अंगीकार किया है, हमें पता चलता है कि पौलुस एक महान प्रचारक और शिक्षक होने के बावजूद, पाप से संघर्ष करता था, ऐसी बातें भी कर जाता था जिन्हें वह नहीं करना चाहता था। इसीलिए वह 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10 में “हम” के उपयोग के द्वारा प्रकट कर देता है कि वह और उसके सहकर्मी, सभी मसीह के न्याय-सिंहासन के सामने अपना-अपना हिसाब देंगे। दूसरे शब्दों में, न केवल मसीही विश्वास में आने से पहले, बल्कि मसीही विश्वास में आने के बाद भी पौलुस जैसा परमेश्वर का सेवक भी गलतियाँ करता रहता था। 

पतरस ने भी प्रभु के प्रति अपने प्रेम और श्रद्धा में होकर, जब प्रभु ने अपने पकड़वाए जाने, सताए जाने, और मारे जाने की बात की, तो प्रभु को ही डाँट दिया (मत्ती 16:21-23); और उस से पहले, रूपांतरण के पहाड़ पर भी पतरस ने बिना समझे-बूझे व्यर्थ बातें बोली थीं (मरकुस 9:5-6)। दोनों ही स्थानों पर पतरस के उद्देश्य गलत नहीं थे; वह प्रभु के प्रति अपने प्रेम को व्यक्त कर रहा था, उसे आदर देना चाह रहा था। किन्तु वह जो कह और कर रहा था, वह परमेश्वर के वचन और इच्छा के अनुसार नहीं था; इसलिए उसकी बात का तिरस्कार किया गया और उसके लिए प्रभु ने पतरस को डाँटा। बाद में, जैसा कि हम गलतियों 2:11-14 में देखते हैं, पतरस फिर से मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने के लिए दोगलेपन के व्यवहार में गिर गया; और पौलुस ने उसे इसके लिए उसे सब के सामने डाँटा था।

प्रेरित यूहन्ना ने भी यह माना है कि वह भी पाप में गिरता रहता था – 1 यूहन्ना 1:8-10 में उसके द्वारा “हम, हमारे” शब्दों के उपयोग पर ध्यान कीजिए, जिन के द्वारा वह दिखा रहा है कि पाप करने वालों में वह स्वयं भी सम्मिलित है। उसने तो यहाँ तक कहा है कि यदि कोई यह दावा करता है कि वह पाप नहीं करता है, तो उसमें सत्य नहीं है, और वह परमेश्वर को भी झूठा ठहरा रहा है। इसका अर्थ यही है कि उसके वार्तालाप, प्रचार, शिक्षा, व्यवहार आदि में, कभी न कभी, कहीं न कहीं, गलतियाँ होती रहती थीं, जिनका अंगीकार करना, पश्चाताप करना, और जिन्हें सुधारना उसके लिये आवश्यक होता है।

शैतान भी प्रभु के वचन के लेख में बिना कोई बदलाव किए उस का दुरुपयोग करता है। प्रभु यीशु के बपतिस्मे के तुरंत बाद, और सेवकाई आरंभ करने से पहले हुई परीक्षाओं (मत्ती 4:1-11; लूका 4:1-13) में, तीन बार शैतान ने परमेश्वर के वचन का दुरुपयोग किया और प्रयास किया कि किसी तरह से प्रभु से वचन का उल्लंघन करवा दे। शैतान ने किसी भी समय परमेश्वर के वचन में न तो कुछ जोड़ा, और न ही उस में से कुछ निकाला। लेकिन उस ने जानबूझकर उसे इस तरह से और ऐसे गलत अर्थ के साथ प्रस्तुत किया, ऐसे अभिप्राय के साथ, जो वचन में न तो थे, और न ही जिन्हें वहाँ कभी होना था। शैतान यही बात आज परमेश्वर के समर्पित विश्वासियों द्वारा भी करवाता है; उनसे भी इसी प्रकार से वचन का दुरुपयोग करवाता है। शैतान बड़ी चालाकी और चुपके से विश्वासियों को बहका और भरमा कर इस धोखे में डाल देता है जिस से कि वे परमेश्वर के वचन की बातों को ऐसे अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ सोचने, मानने, प्रचार करने, और सिखाने लगते हैं, जो वचन में उनके संबंध में दिए ही नहीं गए हैं, और न ही उनका कभी वैसा अर्थ अथवा उपयोग होना है। उन से यह करवाते समय शैतान उन्हें इसी भ्रम में बनाए रखता है कि वे परमेश्वर के प्रति बहुत श्रद्धा तथा आदर का व्यवहार कर और सिखा रहे हैं, और जो वे कह तथा करवा रहें हैं वह परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिए है। किन्तु वास्तव में, जैसा हमने अय्यूब के मित्रों, पौलुस, पतरस, और यूहन्ना के उदाहरणों से देखा है, शैतान ने उन्हें अनजाने में परमेश्वर के प्रतिकूल बातों को कहने और करने में डाल दिया है। इस तरह से वह मानवीय विचार और बुद्धि की उपज की बातों को वचन में मिला कर वचन के सन्देश को अप्रभावी कर देता है।

तो, कोई भी, जीवन के किसी भी समय पर, प्रभु की सेवकाई के किसी भी स्तर पर सिद्ध नहीं होता है, गलती करने से बचा हुआ नहीं होता है। इसलिए यह अनिवार्य है कि प्रत्येक विश्वासी हमेशा प्रेरितों 17:11 और 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21 का पालन करे; अर्थात, पहले पवित्र शास्त्र से हर बात को जाँचे और परखे, सुनिश्चित करे कि वह बात सही है कि नहीं, और उसके बाद ही उसे स्वीकार करे और उसका पालन करे। पिछले लेख में हमने उन तीन आधारों को देखा है जिनके द्वारा यह पहचान की जा सकती है कि क्या परमेश्वर से है और क्या नहीं है। किन्तु दुर्भाग्य की बात है कि विश्वासियों का सामान्य व्यवहार अँध-विश्वास करने का ही होता है। विश्वासी किसी विख्यात और आदरणीय प्रचारक एवं शिक्षक के लिए, अपनी गलत धारणा के अन्तर्गत यही मान कर चलते हैं कि उस व्यक्ति के जैसा भक्त जन कभी कोई गलती भला कैसे कर सकता है; और इसी गलतफहमी में उसकी कही हर बात को हमेशा ही सत्य मान लेते हैं। चाहे वह सत्य न भी हो, चाहे अनजाने में ही वह व्यक्ति भी उपरोक्त उदाहरणों के समान शैतान द्वारा किसी गलती में डाल दिया गया हो। इसीलिए किसी भी शिक्षा या बात को स्वीकार करने और व्यवहार में लाने से पहले इस प्रकार से जाँचने परखने को मण्डलियों के अगुवों के लिए वचन में अनिवार्य बनाया गया है (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29)।

हम अगले लेख से जो हमने परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में सीखा है, उसका पुनःअवलोकन आरंभ करेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Recapitulation – 4

We are recapitulating what we have learnt so far from David’s instructions given in 1 Kings 2:2-4 to his son Solomon, recently crowned King of Israel, for living a successful and blessed life under the guidance and obedience of God. In the last article we have recapitulated about how Satan adulterates God’s Word to render its message ineffective. Satan does this through his agents, as well as by misleading God’s committed Believers into errors; in getting them to assume that they are serving God reverentially, though actually they are preaching and teaching an adulterated Word. Today we will recapitulate some examples of how Satan misleads God’s people, and also see an example of how Satan misuses God’s Word by retaining the text, but ascribing meanings to that which were neither given nor intended in God’s Word. And he is using this ploy quite successfully in the assemblies these days. Let us consider these examples:

The Believers must never forget that not only things said contrary to God, but even things said in favor of God, but not in accordance with His truth and with the actual implications of Biblical facts, they too are unacceptable to God and bring judgment from Him. A good example of being sincere and reverent towards God, yet being wrong and unacceptable to God, are Job's friends. Throughout the Book of Job, they spoke to Job in favor of God, but their statements and the implications related to God were incorrect, and that angered God against them. Though God wanted to punish them, but He left it to Job, whom they were accusing in the name of God, to decide their fate. Job prays for them and delivers them from their punishment (Job 42:7-10).

Similarly, Paul was a very learned and zealous Pharisee before his conversion, but because of his misunderstanding of the Scriptures he had learnt, and his misplaced zeal for God, he used to persecute the followers of the very Lord God, whom he assumed that he was serving (Acts 26:9-10). There was nothing wrong in his intentions – he did love the Lord and was zealous for him, wanting to serve Him as best as he could. Therefore, he wanted to punish those whom he thought were contrary to God and His Word. But his learning, understanding, and interpretation of God's Word was erroneous, which gave him this wrong attitude and behavior. He was sincere towards God, but still was wrong towards Him. Later, as Paul confesses in Romans 7:14-24, we learn that he was still struggling with sin in his life, and would do things that he did not want to do, despite being the eminent preacher and teacher of God’s word that he was. That is why, in 2 Corinthians 5:10, by using “we,” he makes it clear that he and his co-workers will all stand before the judgement seat of Christ to give the account of their lives. In other words, even a God’s servant like Paul, not only before his conversion, but even after his conversion, kept making mistakes.

Peter too, in his love and reverence for the Lord Jesus, rebuked Him for talking about His impending arrest, torture, and death (Matthew 16:21-23); and on an earlier occasion Peter had talked vainly at the Mount of Transfiguration (Mark 9:5-6) without considering what he was saying. At both places Peter’s intentions were not at fault, he wanted to honor the Lord, show his love for the Lord. But what he was doing and saying was not in accordance with the Word and will of God; and therefore, it was rejected and Peter was rebuked by the Lord. Later, as we see in Galatians 2:11-14, Peter trying to be a man-pleaser, fell into hypocrisy, and Paul openly rebuked him for it.

The Apostle John too has confessed that he kept falling in sin – take note of his using words like “we, us, ourselves” in 1 John 1:8-10, thereby including himself in those who sinned. He went on to say that anyone claiming not to sin is not speaking the truth and is making God a liar. This implies that in conversing, preaching, teaching, behavior, etc. at some point or the other he did commit mistakes, which needed to be confessed, repented of, and rectified by him.

Satan too, can deliberately misuse God’s Word, without altering it in any way. In the temptations of the Lord Jesus, immediately after His baptism, and before His beginning His ministry (Matthew 4:1-11; Luke 4:1-13), thrice Satan misused God’s Word to try to make the Lord act contrary to the Word. On none of the occasions, did Satan add anything or take anything away from God’s Word. But he deliberately misinterpreted it and presented it in such a manner, with meanings and implications that were never there in the Word of God, nor were ever intended to be there. Satan does this even today, through God’s committed Believers; getting them to misuse things written in God’s Word. Satan very subtly deceives the Believers into making them think, believe, preach, and to teach others some things from God’s Word with meanings and implications that are not there in the Word of God about them, nor those meanings and implications are ever intended to be put there. Satan does this while making them believe that they are being very reverential and God honoring, and what they are saying and teachings is for the glory of God. But actually, as we have seen from the examples of Job’s friends, Paul, Peter, and John, Satan has beguiled them into inadvertently doing things unacceptable to God. In this manner he brings in false teachings to adulterate God’s Word with human thoughts and things of man’s wisdom, and renders its message ineffective.

So, no one, at any stage in life and service for the Lord is ever perfect, is ever immune from making mistakes. Therefore, it is imperative that every Believer follows Acts 17:11 and 1 Thessalonians 5:21; i.e., first cross-checks everything from the Scriptures, makes sure that it is correct, and only then accepts and follows it. In the previous article we have also seen three criteria which guide us in discerning what is from God and what is not. Unfortunately, the commonly followed routine is for Believers to trust and believe anything and everything any eminent man of God preaches and teaches. They blindly start accepting and following whatever he says and does, under the false assumption that one as godly as he is, will never make any mistakes. And under this misconception people accept everything that person says as the truth, even when actually it is not the truth. Therefore, this cross-checking by the members and the elders of every assembly, of everything taught or preached, before accepting it, and putting it into practice by the assembly, has been made necessary (1 Corinthians 14:29).

We will carry on and recapitulate what we have learnt about God the Holy Spirit from the next article.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

राजा दाऊद ने, 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 में अपने युवा और अनुभवहीन पुत्र, सुलैमान को, जिसे हाल ही में इस्राएल का राजा बनाया गया है, परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता और मार्गदर्शन में रहने के द्वारा एक सफल और आशीषित जीवन जीने के लिए निर्देश दिए हैं। यह मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए भी है, जिन्होंने मसीह के संगी वारिस (रोमियों 8:17) और परमेश्वर की सन्तान के रूप में (यूहन्ना 1:12-13), परमेश्वर के राज्य में नया जन्म पाया है। इन तीन पदों में चार निर्देश दिए गए हैं, जो तब सुलैमान के लिए थे, और आज हमारे लिए हैं। पहला निर्देश है कि पुरुषार्थ कर और दृढ़ निश्चय तथा कठिन परिश्रम के साथ परमेश्वर की सेवा कर। दूसरा निर्देश है कि परमेश्वर का एक भला अर्थात योग्य भण्डारी बन। पिछले लेख में हमने पुनःअवलोकन किया था कि उद्धार एवं मसीही जीवन जीने के लिए परमेश्वर के प्रावधानों को प्राप्त करने के साथ ही उन प्रावधानों का भण्डारी होने की ज़िम्मेदारी भी मिल जाती है; और साथ ही यह भी देखा था कि लोग किन कारणों से भले भण्डारी नहीं बनने पाते हैं। हमने यह भी देखा है कि परमेश्वर ने अपनी प्रत्येक सन्तान, नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को न केवल उद्धार दिया है, वरन साथ ही कम से कम चार और भी बातें दी हैं; ये चार बातें हैं:

• उसका वचन

• उसका पवित्र आत्मा

• उसकी कलीसिया तथा उसकी अन्य संतानों की संगति

• सेवकाई के लिए पवित्र आत्मा का कोई न कोई वरदान

आज हम भण्डारी होने के बारे में इस पुनःअवलोकन को ज़ारी रखेंगे, और हमने जो परमेश्वर के वचन का भण्डारी होने के बारे में सीखा है, उसे देखेंगे।

2a. परमेश्वर ने जो कुछ प्रदान किया है, उसके योग्य भण्डारी बनो:

बाइबल, जो हमारे हाथों में दिया गया परमेश्वर का लिखित वचन है, वही वचन है जो देहधारी हुआ, और जिसने प्रभु यीशु के रूप में हमारे बीच में डेरा किया (यूहन्ना 1:1-2, 14)। परमेश्वर का वचन सम्पूर्ण, सिद्ध, अचूक, त्रुटि रहित, और स्वर्ग में अनन्तकाल के लिए स्थापित है (भजन 119:89, 160)। उस में कभी भी कुछ भी नहीं जोड़ा जाएगा, और न ही कभी उस में से कुछ निकाला जाएगा, किसी के भी द्वारा नहीं। उसे कभी न तो सुधारा जा सकता है न ही और बेहतर बनाया जा सकता है, क्योंकि इसका तात्पर्य होगा कि परमेश्वर पुत्र - प्रभु यीशु मसीह में कुछ सुधारने या बेहतर बनाने के लिये उसमें कुछ जड़ना या उसमें से कुछ घटाना। जैसा हम आगे देखेंगे, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा भी, जिसकी प्रेरणा और मार्गदर्शन में बाइबल लिखी गई है, वह भी कभी भी न तो उसमें कुछ जोड़ता है और न उसमें से कुछ घटाता है, वरन उसने जो और जैसा लिखवा दिया है उसे वैसा ही उपयोग करता और करवाता है। इसीलिए बाइबल में यह निर्देश दिया गया है कि उसमें जो लिख दिया गया है, उस में न तो कभी कुछ जोड़ें और न ही उसमें से कभी कुछ निकालें, अन्यथा गंभीर परिणाम भोगने पड़ेंगे (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19। इसलिए मसीही विश्वासियों को हमेशा इस बात का ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि वे परमेश्वर के वचन का दुरुपयोग न करें, अपनी ही समझ और धारणाओं के अनुसार वचन की कोई गलत व्याख्या न करें, उसमें न तो कुछ जोड़ें और न ही कुछ घटाएं, और किसी भी अन्य के द्वारा ऐसा किये जाने को भी स्वीकार न करें - ऐसा करने वाला चाहे कोई भी क्यों न हो (गलातियों 1:8-9)।

एक और बात जिसका ध्यान रखना चाहिए वह है, उसे आकर्षक बनाने के लिए, या किसी विशेष विचार अथवा धारणा के साथ सुसंगत दिखाने के लिए, बाइबल के प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों को ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं कहना और सिखाना चाहिए जो बाइबल के लेख में वास्तव में नहीं लिखा गया है। जैसा पौलुस कहता है, उन्हें कभी भी लिखित वचन से आगे नहीं बढ़ना चाहिए (1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6)। शैतान अपना यथासंभव प्रयास करता है कि परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट हो जाए, क्योंकि वह जानता है कि जब भी परमेश्वर के वचन में मानवीय बुद्धि और ज्ञान के विचारों की बातों की मिलावट होगी, वचन का सन्देश अप्रभावी हो जाएगा (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:17)। इसलिए शैतान यह कार्य जानबूझकर कैसे न कैसे करवाने का प्रयास करता रहता है, या तो उसके द्वारा फैलाए गए उसके दूतों के द्वारा (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3, 13-15); या  फिर परमेश्वर के समर्पित विश्वासियों के द्वारा, जिन्हें बहका और भरमा कर, जिनका दुरुपयोग करने के द्वारा वह अपनी गलत शिक्षाएँ वचन में मिला देता है, फैला देता है। शैतान विश्वासियों को भी यह भरोसा दिला देता है कि जो वे मान रहे हैं, कह रहे हैं, सिखा रहे हैं वह परमेश्वर का सही वचन है; किन्तु वास्तव में वह उन्हें वचन की गलत व्याख्या, गलत व्यवहारिक उपयोग, और गलत समझ में फंसा देता है; उनकी बात बाइबल से तो हो सकती है, किन्तु बाइबल के अनुसार सही नहीं होती है।

हम यह कैसे समझ और पहचान सकते हैं कि जो प्रचार किया और सिखाया जा रहा है, वह बाइबल के अनुसार सही है? सबसे पहले तो इस धारणा से बाहर निकलना होगा कि जिस प्रचारक और शिक्षक की एक साख, एक प्रसिद्धि है, जिसका बहुत मान है, जिसके बहुत अनुयायी हैं, वह कभी गलत नहीं हो सकता है, और उसकी हर बात पर अँध-विश्वास किया जा सकता है। दूसरे, दी जा रही शिक्षा को बाइबल से ही जाँचना और देखना चाहिए कि कहीं वह किसी प्रकार से लिखे हुए वचन से आगे बढ़ा कर कही गई बात तो नहीं है? क्या उस बात के अर्थ, अभिप्राय, और उपयोग बाइबल में भी वैसे ही हैं, जैसे कि प्रचारक और शिक्षक बता एवं सिखा रहा है? क्या बाइबल में वे अर्थ, अभिप्राय, उपयोग सिखाए गए हैं कि नहीं; या कहीं वह प्रचारक कुछ बाइबल से भिन्न बात तो नहीं सिखा रहा है? और तीसरा यह देखना चाहिए कि उन अर्थ, अभिप्राय, और उपयोग के साथ वह बात बाइबल में भी उपयोग की गई है कि नहीं, कोई वैसा उदाहरण है कि नहीं, या वह शिक्षा बाइबल से बाहर की बात है? जिस भी शिक्षा में ये बातें नहीं हैं, वह बाइबल के अनुसार सही नहीं है, और उसे स्वीकार नहीं किया जाना चाहिए; चाहे उसका प्रचार करने और सिखाने वाला कोई भी क्यों न हो।

King David, in 1 Kings 2:2-4 has instructed his young and inexperienced son Solomon, recently crowned as King of Israel, about leading a blessed and successful life, by being obedient to God and working under God’s guidance. This also applies to the Christian Believers, Born-Again into the Kingdom of God, as His children (John 1:12-13), and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). In these three verses, there are four instructions that were for Solomon then, and for us now. The first instruction is to be a man and strive resolutely to obey and serve God. The second instruction is to be a good or worthy steward of God. In the previous article we recapitulated about how the responsibility of being a steward comes as part of being saved and receiving God’s provisions for living a Christian life; and also saw what makes people poor stewards. We saw earlier that to every one of His children, the Born-Again Christian Believers, God has not only given salvation, but has also given at least four other things; these things are:

• His Word

• His Holy Spirit

• His Church and Fellowship of His Children

• Some Gift of the Holy Spirit for our ministry

Today we will continue recapitulating further about stewardship, and see what we had learnt about the Believer’s stewardship of God’s Word.

2a. Be a good Steward of God’s Word:

The Bible, the written Word of God that we have in our hands, is the same Word that became flesh, and dwelt amongst us (John 1:1-2, 14) as the Lord Jesus. The Word of God is complete, perfect, infallible, inerrant, and forever settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89, 160). Nothing will ever be added to it, in any form, by anyone and nothing can be taken away from it. It cannot ever be modified or improved upon by anyone, since that would imply adding to or taking away from the Lord Jesus to modify or improve Him - God - the Son. As we will see subsequently, God the Holy Spirit, under whose inspiration and guidance the Bible has been written, He also neither adds nor takes away anything from what He has had written, but uses it just as it is. Therefore, it has been instructed in the Bible not to add or take anything away from what already has been given in God’s Word; else there will be serious consequences (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19). Therefore, Christian Believers must be careful to not misuse, misinterpret, and add or remove things to God’s Word in any manner, for whatever reasons, according to their own concepts and understanding; neither should they accept any such thing being done by others - no matter who that person may be (Galatians 1:8-9).

Another thing to bear in mind is that to make it sound attractive, or seemingly consistent with a particular thought or idea, Bible preachers and teachers should not make the Word appear to say things that the Bible does not actually say in its given text. As Paul says, they should make it a point to never ever go beyond the written Word (1 Corinthians 4:6). Satan tries his utmost to make people adulterate God’s Word, since he knows that the Word of God when adulterated with things of human wisdom, its message loses its efficacy (1 Corinthians 1:17). Satan gets this done either deliberately through his planted agents (2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15); or through misleading and misusing God’s committed Believers engaged in the ministry of God’s Word. Satan gets them to misunderstand, misinterpret, believe, preach, and teach things that may appear to be from God’s Word, but actually are not true from the Biblical sense.

How can we discern and understand whether what is being preached and taught is Biblical or not? The first thing to do is to come out of the assumption that the preacher and teacher who is well-reputed, is well-known and famous, is highly acclaimed, has a large following, he can never be wrong, so whatever he says can be blindly believed upon and accepted as it is. Secondly, the teaching being given should be examined through the Bible to see if it in any way is going beyond the written Word? Secondly, the meanings, implications, and practical uses of that teaching whether or not they have been taught in the Bible just the same as the preacher and teacher is saying? Or, is the preacher saying something different from what has been given in the Bible? And thirdly, it should be checked whether that teaching has been used in the Bible with the meanings, implications, and practical uses as is being preached and taught; i.e., are there any examples in the Bible of its use in the same way as is being preached and taught? Any teaching that does not fulfill these requirements is not Biblical, should not be accepted; no matter who it is who is preaching and teaching that thing.

In the next article we will recapitulate some Biblical examples of people believing themselves to be sincere and reverent towards God, but actually were contrary to God; and we will also see an example of misuse of God’s Word by Satan, that he keeps getting done even today through Christian Believers.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

दाऊद का सुलैमान के लिए, और आज हमारे लिए भी, पहला निर्देश है "तू हियाव बांधकर पुरुषार्थ दिखा" (1 राजाओं 2:2)। दाऊद सुलैमान से कह रहा है कि यद्यपि वह परमेश्वर द्वारा चुना और नियुक्त किया गया राजा है, लेकिन फिर भी उसके लिए जीवन कभी भी आसान और आरामदेह नहीं होगा। परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई जिम्मेदारियों का निर्वाह करने के लिए उसे कई तरह की परिस्थितियों का सामना करना पड़ेगा, और उसकी घोर परीक्षा होगी। उन परिस्थितियों पर जयवन्त होने का एकमात्र तरीका है परमेश्वर की सहायता, जिसके लिए उसे साहस के साथ परिस्थितियों का सामना करने के लिए तैयार, तथा परमेश्वर का आज्ञाकारी होना पड़ेगा। उसे अपने आप को शारीरिक, मानसिक, तथा आत्मिक रीति से तैयार करना पड़ेगा, कि परमेश्वर के मार्गदर्शन में उन परिस्थितियों के साथ व्यवहार कर सके। यदि वह नकारात्मक रवैया रखेगा, या हार मान लेगा, तो वह कभी कुछ नहीं करने पाएगा।

इसी प्रकार से मसीही विश्वासियों को भी, जो परमेश्वर के द्वारा और उसे की इच्छा में उद्धार पाए हुए हैं, अपने मसीही जीवन जीने के लिये संघर्षों का सामना करना ही होगा। मसीही विश्वास का जीवन जीने के लिए, उसमें बढ़ने तथा परिपक्व होने के लिए, परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता के द्वारा उससे मिलने वाली सहायता एवं मार्गदर्शन में होकर, एक तैयारी, प्रत्याशा, और दृढ़ निश्चय के साथ विभिन्न संभावनाओं के लिए परिश्रम करना पड़ता है। यह आराम से बैठकर और सहज समझकर बिताया जाने वाला जीवन नहीं है। 

मसीह यीशु में विश्वास करने के द्वारा नया-जन्म या उद्धार पाना प्रक्रिया का पूरा हो जाना नहीं है, वरन आरंभ मात्र है, नए जीवन में बढ़ाया गया पहला ही कदम है। इस नए जीवन में सभी पुरानी बातें बदल जाती हैं, नई बातों को सीखना है, उनके अनुसार जीना है, उनका पालन करना है। इस जीवन को अपने स्वार्थ के लिए या अपनी संतुष्टि के लिए नहीं, बल्कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह के लिए जीना है (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15, 17)। हर कदम पर शैतान विश्वासी को भटकाने और भरमाने, उसकी आत्मिक उन्नति में बाधाएँ डालने, उसके लिए जीवन को कठिन और कुंठित करने वाला बनाने का प्रयास करेगा। शैतान यही प्रयास करता रहेगा कि किसी तरह से उसे पराजित और इस जीवन को जी पाने में अक्षम अनुभव करवाए। यह इसलिये ताकि मसीही विश्वासी फिर से वापस साँसारिक और शारीरिक जीवन जीने में लौट जाए। परमेश्वर प्रत्येक विश्वासी के जीवन में एक उद्देश्य के अंतर्गत ये सब बातें आने देता है, लेकिन हमेशा ही एक सीमा के अंदर, जैसा कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13 में लिखा है। कोई भी मसीही विश्वासी इन संघर्षों से निकले बिना न तो सीख सकता है, और न ही उन्नति कर सकता है, और न परिपक्व हो सकता है। लेकिन जो पुरुषार्थ करते हैं, परिश्रम के साथ आगे बढ़ते हैं, जैसे पौलुस ने किया था (2 तीमुथियुस 4:6-8), वे परमेश्वर से बहुतायत से इनाम भी पाते हैं। इसलिए इस विश्वास के जीवन को जीने के लिए मसीही विश्वासी को पुरुषार्थ करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध होना चाहिए, और फिर दृढ़ निश्चय के साथ इस निर्णय का निर्वाह करना चाहिए; और परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा इस में उसकी सहायता करेगा, उसका मार्गदर्शन करेगा, जैसा कि हम आगे देखेंगे।

2. परमेश्वर ने जो कुछ प्रदान किया है, उसके योग्य भण्डारी बनो।

जैसा दाऊद ने सुलैमान से कहा है, "जो कुछ तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा ने तुझे सौंपा है, उसकी रक्षा कर के उसके मार्गों पर चला करना", अर्थात, परमेश्वर ने जो कुछ उसे सौंपा है, वह उसका योग्य भण्डारी बने (1 राजाओं 2:3a)। पौलुस भी कहता है कि उसे परमेश्वर ने जो कुछ भी दिया है, उसका भण्डारी भी बनाया है, और उसे इस भण्डारी होने को भली-भाँति निभाना है (1 कुरिन्थियों 4:1-2)। यह न तो उसके चुनने की बात थी, न ही उसकी पसन्द अथवा नापसन्द की, वरन परमेश्वर का आज्ञाकारी होने की थी (1 कुरिन्थियों 9:16-17); अन्यथा उसे इसके साथ जुड़ी हुई ‘हाय’ को भोगना पड़ेगा। परमेश्वर जब भी किसी को कुछ देता है, तो वह व्यक्ति स्वतः ही उस बात का भण्डारी भी हो जाता है, और उसे इस ज़िम्मेदारी को योग्य रीति से पूरा करना है। मसीह यीशु का अनुयायी होने के कारण, पसन्द करने या न करने, या स्वीकार अथवा अस्वीकार करने का प्रश्न ही नहीं है। एक योग्य भण्डारी वह है जो उसे सौंपी गई प्रत्येक ज़िम्मेदारी का सही रीति से और परिश्रम के साथ निर्वाह करता है। प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को सिखाया कि परमेश्वर पिता अपेक्षा करता है कि उसके भण्डारी खराई और ज़िम्मेदारी के साथ अपना कार्य करेंगे। जो ऐसा करेंगे, वे बहुतायत से इनाम भी पाएंगे (लूका 12:41-44)। 

हम दो तरह से अयोग्य भण्डारी हो सकते हैं:

• ज़िम्मेदारी के प्रति लापरवाह और उदासीन होने के द्वारा: मत्ती 25:24-30 के दृष्टांत के उस सेवक के समान होना, जिसने न तो उसे दिए गए एक तोड़े की कीमत को समझा, और न ही जिसने उसे वह दिया था उसको उचित आदर दिया। उसने अपने तोड़े का कोई उपयोग नहीं किया; और हिसाब लेने के समय उसे दण्ड दिया गया।

• ज़िम्मेदारी को अधिकार समझ कर अनुचित हक जताने के द्वारा: लूका 12:45-46 के दृष्टांत के सेवक के समान, जिसने अपने भण्डारी होने को एक अधिकार के समान लेकर उसका दुरुपयोग किया। जब कि उसे इस ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह में नम्र और देखभाल करने वाला होना चाहिए था (1 पतरस 5:1-4)।

हम अगले लेख में भी भण्डारी होने से संबंधित बातों का पुनःअवलोकन ज़ारी रखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Recapitulation – 2

We will be continuing today with our recapitulation of what we have learnt so far under the topic “Blessed and Successful Life.” This series is based on 1 Kings 2:2-4, where David is giving some very important instructions to his young and inexperienced son Solomon, who has recently been crowned King of Israel. In these three verses, David gives four points to Solomon to always bear in mind; and in the second of these four points, for the Christian Believers today, there are four more sub-points. In our Bible study, so far we are about half-way through, i.e., we have considered the first point, and then under the second point, we have seen the first two of the four sub-points.

1. Be Strong and Manly, not timid or defeatist.

David’s first instruction for Solomon, and now for us is "be strong and prove yourself a man." (1 Kings 2:2). David was telling Solomon that though he is a God chosen and appointed King, still life will never be easy and convenient for him. He will have to face all kinds of situations and will be tested thoroughly in fulfilling his God given responsibilities. The only way to overcome the situations that will come is through the help of God, by being willing to face the situations courageously and being obedient to God. He will have to prepare himself, physically, mentally, as well as spiritually for handling them under God’s guidance. If he were to have a negative or a defeatist attitude, he will never be able to accomplish anything.

Similarly, for Christian Believers, who are saved by and in the will of God, living a Christian life is a life of struggles. Living the life of Christian faith, growing and maturing in it, etc., all require anticipation, preparation, and resolute laboring for the various possibilities, with the help and guidance of God, through being obedient to Him. It is not a life of sitting back and taking things easy. 

Being Born-Again or saved by coming into faith in the Lord Jesus, is not a completion, but only the beginning, the first step into a new life. In this new life, all the old things change, new things must be learnt, lived, and followed. It must be a life lived not for selfish purposes or for self-gratification, but for the Lord Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:15, 17). At every step, Satan will try to mislead the Believer, hamper his spiritual growth, make life difficult, and to frustrate and somehow cause him to feel defeated and incapable. Satan will keep on trying to revert the Believer into the former worldly and carnal life. God allows these things in every Believer’s life for a purpose, but always within certain limits, as given in 1 Corinthians 10:13. No Christian Believer can learn, grow, and mature without passing through these struggles. But those who are manly and strive, like Paul did (2 Timothy 4:6-8), will also be richly rewarded by God. Therefore, to live his life of faith the Christian Believer must commit to be a man, and then resolutely live out his decision; and God the Holy Spirit will help and guide him along, as we will see later.

2. Be a good Steward of whatever God has given.

As David said to Solomon, "keep the charge of the Lord God", i.e., he had to keep charge of whatever God had entrusted to him (1 Kings 2:3a); be a good steward of whatever God had given to him. Paul also says that he has been made a steward of everything that God has given him, and he has to fulfill his stewardship faithfully (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). It is neither a question of choice, nor of liking or disliking, but of being obedient to God (1 Corinthians 9:16-17); or else suffer the associated woe of not fulfilling the responsibility. When God gives anything to anyone, that person automatically also becomes its steward, and is expected to fulfill this responsibility worthily. As a follower of Christ Jesus, there is no question of liking or not liking, accepting or not accepting a stewardship. A good Steward is one who properly and diligently keeps charge of whatever has been entrusted to him. The Lord Jesus taught His disciples that God the Father expects His stewards to function responsibly and sincerely. Those who do so, will be richly rewarded (Luke 12:41-44). 

We can be poor stewards by either:

• Being careless and unconcerned: being like the servant who neither considered the worth of the talent given to him, nor honored the one who had given it to him. He did not put the talent given to him to any use; and at the time of accounting, was punished (Matthew 25:24-30).

• Being overly possessive and usurping: by being like the one who misused his stewardship as a position of authority (Luke 12:45-46); whereas he had to be gentle and caring in his responsibility (1 Peter 5:1-4).
