परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 19

Altering God’s Word - 19
In the previous article we had seen that every truly Born-Again Christian Believer is automatically a child of God from the moment of his salvation (John 1:12-13), and is also God’s steward of the things graciously given to him by God; and will have to give an account of it. Amongst the various things God has graciously given to His children, one is His Word (John 17:14; Colossians 1:25). While studying about the stewardship of God’s Word, of late we have been seeing that corruption and misinterpretation of God’s Word has been going on for centuries; even in the Old Testament times, and, this trend has continued to date - the readers are requested to please read the previous four articles to see the details about this. We saw that there are two main ways of corrupting and distorting God’s Word: one is to alter its text to suit a particular point of view or doctrine; and the second is to use the correct text in an incorrect manner, by twisting and altering the meanings and implications of that text, into something that was neither stated nor intended in the initial original form, when the text was first written.
In context of this corrupting and altering the meanings and implications, since the previous article we have been considering some Biblical words and phrases commonly being used by some Christian Believers in an unBiblical manner, to come to God to offer their prayers or worship. We saw from Romans 5:1-2; Ephesians 2:18; 3:12 that every Child of God, has a God given free, open, and unhindered authority to have an access to God at any time, for anything. Yet some people repetitively use words and phrases like, ‘binding Satan,’ ‘applying the blood of Jesus,’ ‘covering themselves, or covering things under the blood of Jesus,’ ‘coming to God for prayer or worship through the blood of Jesus,’ and ‘applying the Cross of Jesus,’ etc. They precede their every prayer or worship with these introductory expressions, whenever they come to God for anything. They use them as if they were chants and incantations that would make their prayers or worship more efficacious, readily heard, accepted, and answered by God. We had seen that they have no Biblical grounds for using these expressions. Rather, using them is highly derogatory to the Lord God, being contrary to His character and attributes. Today we will look into another aspect of using these expressions - the claim that these expressions are not used as chants and incantations to make their prayers or worship more efficacious, readily heard, accepted, and answered by God; rather they are expressions of reverence towards God, only spoken to honor Him.
If they say that they do not use these words and phrases to influence, or bias, or compel God to act in their favor, but only to reverentially honor Him, then why has no one in the whole of the Bible ever used these expressions to honor God? How is it that only these people, not the whole Church of God, and that too only in recent times, not earlier, have received this new revelation or inspiration for being reverent and honoring to God, through these new and unprecedented expressions? How is it that only they, i.e., only some, out of the whole world-wide Church of God, have been given this manner of being reverent and honoring to God? A manner that even the various authors of God’s Word over the centuries, never received, though they wrote directly under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God?
We see from John 14:26 and John 16:13-14 that the Lord Jesus has said that God the Holy Spirit will never teach anything new from His side; but He will only remind and declare that which the Lord Jesus had already taught; and using these expressions was never taught by the Lord Jesus. Therefore, there is no way that these people can claim that they have received this revelation or inspiration from the Holy Spirit and it is God given. And if they insist on claiming that their use of these expressions is God given, then this indicates that contrary to Numbers 23:19 and Hebrews 6:17-18, the Lord Jesus lied about the ministry of the Holy Spirit; contrary to Malachi 3:6 and Hebrews 13:8, God is fickle, and can change; and His Word too is alterable, contradicting Psalm 119:89. So, if these expressions and manner of being reverent and honoring God are not from God, then from whom are they?
Moreover, if, as they say, these expressions are used by them only to honor God, and not for adding any influence to prayer, then why is it that they use these words and phrases even more vehemently and emphatically, when they pray to God in desperation? When they plead to God to resolve something that is particularly difficult, or troubling, or painful for them? Whichever way one tries to explain and justify this apparently pious and reverential, but actually devious practice, its Biblical analysis only goes to show that this practice subtly and imperceptibly, but actually denigrates the very characteristics and attributes of God, and severely assaults the very character of God. Therefore it is not reverential but satanic, and the fact remains that there is no Biblical justification for adhering to it.
In the next article, we will consider some implications of misusing God’s Word in this manner.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
