पिछले लेख में हमने मूसा द्वारा इस्राएल के छुटकारे से सीखा था कि परमेश्वर के उद्देश्य केवल परमेश्वर के समय में, और उसके निर्धारित तरीकों से ही पूरे किए जा सकते हैं। कोई भी, वह व्यक्ति भी अन्ततः जिसके द्वारा वह कार्य करवाया जाएगा, उन बातों को अपने हाथों में नहीं ले सकता है, और न ही अपनी ही इच्छा के अनुसार उनको कर सकता है। परमेश्वर के प्रति आज्ञाकारिता का अर्थ है परमेश्वर के निर्देशों का पालन करना, और उस प्रकार से करना जैसा परमेश्वर ने उन्हें करने के लिए निर्धारित किया है और बताया है। इस्राएल के वाचा की भूमि, कनान, की ओर की यात्रा के उदाहरण के साथ आगे बढ़ते हुए हम परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता के इस सिद्धान्त की, जंगल की यात्रा में परमेश्वर की आराधना के लिए तम्बू बनाने के उदाहरण के द्वारा, और अधिक पुष्टि करेंगे।

निर्गमन की पुस्तक का दूसरा अर्ध-भाग उस तम्बू के बारे में है जिसे परमेश्वर ने अपनी आराधना के लिए इस्राएलियों द्वारा बनवाया था। परमेश्वर बहुत आसानी से बस इतना भर कह सकता था कि इस्राएलियों को उसकी आराधना करने के प्रति उद्यमी होना चाहिए, उसकी आराधना किसी मूर्त के रूप में नहीं, किन्तु आत्मा में होनी चाहिए; और उन्हें उसकी आराधना के लिए एक स्थान बना लेना चाहिए; और बस बात को यहीं पर छोड़ देता, इस्राएलियों को इसके आगे इसे पूरा कर लेने देता। किन्तु न केवल परमेश्वर ने उन्हें अपनी आज्ञाएँ दीं, अपनी व्यवस्था दी, बल्कि उसकी आराधना के लिए जो तम्बू बनाया जाना था, उसमें जो सामान होना था, और जिस तरह से आराधना की जानी थी, उसके भी बहुत सटीक निर्देश दिए। परमेश्वर ने किसी भी बात को लोगों की कल्पना या समझ पर नहीं छोड़ा, यद्यपि ये वही लोग थे जो उसके साथ वाचा में बंधे हुए थे।

परमेश्वर ने उन्हें तम्बू और उसके सामान का बिलकुल सटीक स्वरूप, आकार, और नाप दिया; उसने विशेष रीति से बताया कि कौन सा सामान किस चीज़ से बनेगा, वह चीज़ किस रंग की होगी, और फिर बन जाने के बाद उस सामान को कहाँ और कैसे रखा जाएगा, और उसे कैसे उपयोग किया जाएगा। परमेश्वर ने उन्हें यह भी बताया कि यात्रा के समय तम्बू और उसके सामान को कैसे ले जाना है। परमेश्वर ने इस सामान को बनाने के तरीके को भी लोगों की कल्पना और समझ पर नहीं छोड़ा; उसने इसके लिए आवश्यक योग्यता और कार्य-कुशलता कुछ चुने हुए लोगों में डाली, ताकि वे तम्बू और सामान को ठीक वैसे ही बनाएं जैसा परमेश्वर चाहता था (निर्गमन 31:1-11; 35:30-35)।

 

जब आप निर्गमन में दिए गए इस विवरण को पढ़ते हैं, तो आप पाते हैं कि हर सामान के लिए परमेश्वर मूसा से बारंबार दोहराता है कि वह इस बात का ध्यान रखे कि हर वस्तु ठीक वैसे और वैसी ही बने जैसा परमेश्वर ने कहा है और उसे दिखाया है; निर्गमन के दूसरे अर्ध-भाग में परमेश्वर ने यह बात लगभग चालीस बार दोहराई है। एक बार जब कार्य पूरा हो गया, तब यह फिर से दोहराया गया है कि हर वस्तु ठीक वैसे और वैसी ही बनाई गई थी, जैसा परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए निर्धारित किया था (निर्गमन 39:32-43)। ऐसा हो जाने के बाद ही, निर्गमन 40 में, परमेश्वर फिर से बताता है कि कौन सी वस्तु कहाँ रखी जानी है, और मूसा वैसा ही करता है (40:16), और तब परमेश्वर उतर कर तम्बू में आता है, और उसे अपनी उपस्थिति से भर देता है (40:34); अर्थात् , हर एक बात के पूर्णतः परमेश्वर के कहे के अनुसार हो जाने के बाद ही परमेश्वर उसे स्वीकार करता है और उसमें आकर निवास करता है।

यह सब बहुत प्रबल रीति से हमारे सामने इस तथ्य को रखता है कि न तो मनुष्य की कल्पनाएँ, न उसके तरीके, और परमेश्वर के निकट या सम्मुख आने तथा उसकी आराधना करने के लिए न ही मनुष्य की अपनी गढ़ी हुई बातें परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न कर सकती हैं, उसे स्वीकार्य हो सकती हैं। परमेश्वर केवल, जैसा उसके वचन में लिखा और कहा गया है, अपनी बातों और निर्देशों के सटीक पालन किए जाने के द्वारा, उसके कहे के अनुसार ही उसकी उपासना और आराधना किए जाने के द्वारा ही प्रसन्न होता है, और किसी तरीके से नहीं। और शैतान यही प्रयास करता रहता है कि हम किसी न किसी तरह से परमेश्वर के वचन की बातों की अनदेखी कर दें, उन में अपनी इच्छा और समझ के अनुसार कुछ बदलाव कर दें, उनमें कुछ जोड़ या घटा दें; अर्थात्  परमेश्वर के वचन को परमेश्वर का वचन न रहने दें वरन बाहरी परमेश्वर के वचन के स्वरूप में उसे वास्तव में मनुष्य का वचन बना लें। और इस रीति से किसी तरह से उसका भण्डारी होने की अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी के प्रति लापरवाही करें, और परमेश्वर के वचन का अनुचित उपयोग करें या फिर हो लेने दें।

अगले लेख में हम कुछ अन्य उदाहरणों को देखेंगे जो बाइबल के इस सिद्धान्त की और अधिक पुष्टि करते हैं कि परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के साथ खिलवाड़ नहीं किया जा सकता है। परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता का अर्थ न केवल उसके निर्देशों को मानना है, बल्कि उन्हें उस तरह से मानना है, जैसा वह चाहता है कि वे मानी जाएँ।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

In the previous article we have seen through Israel’s deliverance from Egypt by Moses, that God’s purposes can only be accomplished in God’s time, and in God’s prescribed manner. No one, not even the person who will eventually accomplish them, can take things into their own hands, and try to do it as they think is appropriate. Obedience to God means fulfilling God’s instructions, in the manner God has determined and said for them to be fulfilled. Continuing with the illustration of Israel’s journey towards the Promised land, Canaan, we will further affirm this principle of being obedient to God, through the illustration of building the Tabernacle of God for worship in the wilderness.

The second half of the Book of Exodus is about the Tabernacle that God asked to be built for His worship by Israel. God could have easily said that Israelites should be diligent in regularly worshiping Him, not as an idol, but as Spirit; they should prepare a place of worship for Him; and left it at that; allowing the Israelites to take it up and do this. But not only did God give them His Commandments, His Laws, but also for His worship, He gave them the minute details about the Tabernacle, its things, and the way He was to be worshiped. God left nothing to the discretion or imagination of His people, those who had entered into a covenant with Him.

He gave them detailed measurements of the exact size of the Tabernacle and of its objects; He specified the material and even the color of the material to be used for each and everything that was to be constructed; God gave the design of each object, and then specified where and how it had to be placed and utilized. He even told them how it had to be transported when they journeyed. Neither did God leave it to His people to devise the means and methods of constructing these objects; He put the required abilities and skills in certain chosen people, to make the things of the Tabernacle, just the way God wanted them to be (Exodus 31:1-11; 35:30-35).

 

As you read through this description in Exodus, you find that for each object, God repeatedly specifies to Moses that it has to be built and used exactly as has been specified by God and been shown to Him; God repeats this command in the second half of Exodus nearly forty times. Once the work was completed, it is again specified that everything was done exactly as God had commanded it to be done (Exodus 39:32-43). It is only after this that in Exodus 40 God specifies when, how, and where each thing has to be placed, Moses does accordingly (40:16), and then God descended and filled the Tabernacle (40:34); i.e., it was only once everything had been done according to God’s instructions, that God accepted it and came into it.

All of this so powerfully puts before us the fact that not the imaginations and devices of man, not man’s contrived methods of coming to God and worshipping God, but only doing things, following His instructions, worshipping Him, etc., exactly as specified by God in His Word, is what pleases God, and nothing else. And Satan keeps trying to get us to either disregard God’s instructions given in His Word, or to modify them, add or take away things from them, according to our own fancy; i.e., do not let God’s Word be God’s Word, but though externally appearing to be God’s word, to actually change it into man’s word. Thereby to somehow overlook and neglect our stewardship towards God’s Word, and thereby let God’s Word be used inappropriately in some manner or the other. 

In the next article we will look at some other examples to further affirm this Biblical principle that God and His Word cannot be trifled with. Obedience to God not only means obeying His instructions, but also means obeying them in the manner He wants them obeyed.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर न केवल यह चाहता है कि उसके लोग उसके निर्देशों के अनुसार ही कार्य करें, वरन साथ ही इस बात के लिए भी दृढ़ है कि वे उन कार्यों को ठीक वैसे ही करें जैसा उसने उन से करने के लिए कहा है; न कि अपनी इच्छा और तरीके से। इस सिद्धान्त के एक व्यवहारिक चित्रण के रूप में, आज हम मूसा के द्वारा मिस्र से इस्राएल के छुड़ाए जाने से सम्बन्धित कुछ घटनाओं को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे। आज हम मूसा के इस्राएल का अगुवा बनने का प्रयास करने के बारे में देखेंगे, और फिर उसके बाद कुछ अन्य उदाहरण भी देखेंगे।

प्रेरितों 7:22-36 में स्तिफनुस द्वारा दोहराए गए इस्राएल के छुड़ाए जाने के संक्षिप्त घटनाक्रम को देखिए। जैसा स्तिफनुस ने कहा था, मूसा, इस्राएलियों के साथ अपना भाईचारा और समर्थन व्यक्त करने के लिए स्वतः ही उनके पास गया था। वहाँ पर एक मिस्री द्वारा एक इस्राएली पर किए जा रहे अत्याचार को देख, पहले तो मूसा ने इस्राएली के पक्ष में कुछ करने के लिए, अपनी ही समझ के अनुसार, उस मिस्री को मार डाला; और फिर बाद में इस्राएलियों के मध्य के विवादों को भी सुलझाने का प्रयास किया। संभवतः उसका विचार रहा होगा कि उसकी राजसी हैसियत और क्षमताओं के कारण, इस्राएली उसे मिस्र के दासत्व से उनका छुड़ाने वाला समझ लेंगे, उसे स्वीकार कर लेंगे। लेकिन इस्राएलियों ने ऐसा नहीं किया, अपने छुड़ाने वाले के रूप में उन्होंने उसका तिरस्कार किया, और मूसा को अपनी जान बचा कर मिस्र से भागना पड़ा। इसके बाद और चालीस वर्ष की तैयारी का समय लगा, और तब परमेश्वर मूसा को वापस मिस्र में लेकर आया और उसके द्वारा इस्राएल को दासत्व से छुड़वाया।

यद्यपि मूसा इस्राएलियों को छुड़ाने के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा चुना और निर्धारित किया हुआ था, लेकिन मूसा अपनी इच्छा और तरीके से इस कार्य को नहीं कर सका, बल्कि ऐसा करने के प्रयास में जान के जोखिम में आ गया। वह यह बात नहीं जानता था कि जब उसने यह कार्य अपने आप ही करने का प्रयास किया था, उस समय वह इस ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह के लिए प्रशिक्षित और तैयार किया हुआ नहीं था। परमेश्वर को उसे चालीस वर्ष तक जंगल में प्रशिक्षित करना पड़ा, उसे बिना किसी पहचान के तथा दूसरों पर आश्रित एक परदेशी बनकर एक साधारण से व्यक्ति के रूप में जीवन जीने के द्वारा, उसके घमण्ड और राजसी सोच को तोड़ना पड़ा। उसे मूक, असहाय, और मूर्ख भेड़ों के साथ काम करना पड़ा, जो अपनी इच्छा से, तथा परिणाम की कोई चिंता किए बिना ही कुछ भी कर बैठने की प्रवृत्ति रखती थीं। जब मूसा ने उनके साथ रहते हुए धैर्य सीख लिया और उसमें बुद्धिहीन पशुओं की भी देखभाल करने का हृदय विकसित हो गया, तब परमेश्वर ने उसे इस्राएलियों को छुड़ाने के लिए भेजा।

 

साथ ही एक बात और भी थी, जिस समय मूसा ने स्वतः ही इस्राएलियों का छुड़ाने वाला बनने का प्रयास किया था, तब तक परमेश्वर द्वारा उनके छुटकारे के लिए निर्धारित समय पूरा नहीं हुआ था; और जिस दिन यह समय पूरा हो गया, परमेश्वर उन्हें मिस्र से निकाल लाया (उत्पत्ति 15:13; निर्गमन 12:40-41)। जब मूसा के जाने का समय आया, उस समय, जलती हुई झाड़ी की घटना और संबंधित बातों के द्वारा (निर्गमन 4) परमेश्वर ने मूसा को यह भी दिखाया कि यद्यपि अपनी दृष्टि में, और अपने आँकलन के अनुसार, उसमें इस्राएलियों को मिस्र से छुड़ाने के लिए कोई योग्यता, कोई सामर्थ्य नहीं थी; किन्तु परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता के द्वारा वह अद्भुत आश्चर्यकर्म कर सकता था।

अब, मूसा यह जान चुका था कि इस असंभव लगने वाले कार्य को सफलतापूर्वक करने के लिए उसके पास अपना कुछ भी नहीं था जिसके आधार पर वह इसे कर पाने का कोई दावा कर पाता, या ऐसा करने का सोच भी सकता था; वह इसके लिए पूर्णतः परमेश्वर पर ही निर्भर था। और हम यह अच्छे से जानते हैं कि यह केवल मूसा की परमेश्वर के प्रति निःसंकोच आज्ञाकारिता, तथा असंभव दिखने वाली बातों के लिए भी परमेश्वर पर उसका पूर्ण भरोसा रखना ही था जिसने न केवल उसे इस्राएलियों को स्वीकार्य और उनका अगुवा तथा छुड़ाने वाला बनाया, बल्कि उसे फिरौन द्वारा किसी भी हानि के करने से भी सुरक्षित रखा, यद्यपि मूसा में होकर उनपर आई दस विपत्तियों के कारण मिस्र को बहुत भारी हानि उठानी पड़ी थी (इब्रानियों 11:24-27)।

उनको मिस्र से निकाल लाने के पश्चात, इस्राएल को और आगे वाचा किए हुए कनान देश में ले जाने से पहले, परमेश्वर ने इस्राएलियों से उसके साथ एक वाचा बाँधने के लिए कहा, उसके आज्ञाकारी बने रहने की वाचा (निर्गमन 19:3-8)। इस्राएलियों के यह वाचा बाँधने के बाद, परमेश्वर ने पहले उन्हें अपनी आज्ञाएँ, फिर अपनी व्यवस्था दी, और फिर इसके बाद उन से कनान की यात्रा के दौरान उसकी आराधना करने के लिए एक आराधना का तम्बू भी बनाने के लिए कहा। यहाँ पर ध्यान दीजिए कि इस्राएलियों और परमेश्वर के बीच की यह वाचा केवल एक ही बात पर आधारित थी, परमेश्वर के प्रति बिना किसी शर्त के, उनकी पूर्ण आज्ञाकारिता पर।

हम अगले लेख में भी इस्राएल की इस यात्रा के बारे में और देखेंगे, तथा इस उदाहरण से और भी सीखेंगे कि परमेश्वर के प्रति आज्ञाकारिता का अर्थ है परमेश्वर द्वारा कही गई बात को उसके द्वारा बताए गए तरीके से ही पूरा करना; न कि परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित बात और दिये गये निर्देशों को अपने या अन्य मनुष्यों द्वारा गढ़े गये तरीकों और रीतियों द्वारा करना।

Improper Behavior Towards God’s Word - 5

 

In the previous article we have seen that God not only wants His people to do what He instructs them to do, but is also equally particular that they do it just the way that He wants them to do it; and not according to their own concepts and fancies. As a practical illustration of this principle, today we begin to look at incidents related to Israel's deliverance from Egypt through Moses. Today we will see about Moses attempting to become the leader of Israel, and later see some other examples as well.

Consider the summary of Israel’s deliverance as stated by Stephen before the Council in Acts 7:22-36. As Stephen recounts this incident, Moses, wanting to express his solidarity and brotherhood with them, had initially gone to the Israelites on his own. There, acting in favor of an Israelite being oppressed by an Egyptian, according to his own understanding Moses even killed the oppressor, and then tried to settle disputes between the Israelites. Probably, his thinking was that because of his royal status and capabilities, the Israelites will accept him as their deliverer from Egyptian slavery. But the Israelites rejected him as their potential deliverer, and he had to run away from Egypt for saving his life. It took another forty years of preparation before God brought him back to Egypt, to deliver Israel from slavery through him.

Though Moses was to be the one through whom God would deliver Israel, yet at that time Moses could not do this according to his desire and by his own methods; rather, in attempting to do so, he jeopardized his life. What Moses was unaware of  was that when he tried to do it on his own, he was still not trained and prepared to carry out this responsibility. God had to train him for another forty years in the wilderness, as a nobody living and working in a very simple manner, as a foreigner dependent upon others. Thereby, God had to break his pride and his royal manner of thinking. Moses had to work with dumb, defenseless sheep, prone to do things their own way without bothering about the consequences. It was only when Moses had learnt patience and developed the heart to care for even dumb animals, that he was sent to deliver Israel.

 

Also, another thing was that at the time Moses attempted to become their deliverer, God’s determined time for their deliverance had not been completed; and the day this time was completed, God brought them out of Egypt (Genesis 15:13; Exodus 12:40-41). In the incidence of the Burning Bush and associated events (Exodus 4), God had also shown to Moses, that though in his own eyes, and by his own reckoning, he had no qualities and capabilities to deliver Israel from Egypt; but through being obedient to God, he was capable of doing extra-ordinary miracles.

Now, Moses had learnt that for being successful in carrying out this seemingly impossible task, he had nothing of his own by which he could make any claims or even think of accomplishing it; he was totally dependent on God for it. And we know this very well that it was only his unflinching obedience to God, and his complete trust in God for even seemingly impossible things, that was the only thing that made him acceptable to Israel as their leader and deliverer. It was this faith that kept Pharaoh from harming him in any way, although through Moses Egypt had suffered great loss, in the ten plagues he brought upon them (Hebrews 11:24-27).

Having brought them out of Egypt, before leading Israel towards the Promised Land, Canaan, God asked the Israelites to make a covenant with Him, of being obedient to Him (Exodus 19:3-8). After the Israelites agreed to this covenant, God proceeded further, first giving them His Commandments, and then the Law, and then asking them to build the Tabernacle for worshipping Him while they journeyed to Canaan. Take note that the covenant between the Israelites and God was totally dependent on one and only one thing, absolute, unconditional obedience to God.

 

We will continue considering this Exodus journey of Israel in the next article as well, to continue learning from this illustration that obedience to God means doing the things He has said, and doing them the way He wants them done; and not doing God ordained and instructed things, by methods and rituals contrived by other people, or self.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले दो लेखों में हम ने शैतान की एक युक्ति के बारे में देखा है, जिसे वह अकसर मसीहियों को भ्रम में डालने और उन्हें बहका कर परमेश्वर से दूर ले जाने के लिए उपयोग करता है – उन्हें लुभा और फुसला कर उन्हें उकसाता है कि परमेश्वर के वचन पर भरोसा रखने से अधिक वे अपनी बुद्धि और समझ पर भरोसा करें, और जो उन्हें सही प्रतीत होता है उसे करने में फिर देर न करें। परमेश्वर का नाम लेकर उन्हें प्रचार या सिखाई गई किसी बात को स्वीकार करने से पहले, उसे जाँचने, उसकी पुष्टि करने, में समय लगाने की बजाए, जो सही, आकर्षक, तार्किक लगता है, और/या किसी जाने-माने स्त्रोत से आता है, उसे स्वयं भी करें तथा औरों से भी करवाएँ। शैतान की इस युक्ति से संबंधित, हव्वा के उदाहरण के अतिरिक्त हमने तीन अन्य उदाहरण बाइबल में से देखे थे – अय्यूब के मित्रों का, पौलुस के दृष्टिकोण और रवैये का, और पतरस द्वारा यद्यपि श्रद्धा में होकर, किन्तु जल्दबाजी में प्रभु को झिड़कने और फिर स्वयं प्रभु से डाँट खाने और उसे उसका स्थान दिखाए जाने का। आज हम प्रभु के वचन के अनुचित उपयोग, परमेश्वर की आज्ञाओं के गलत निर्वाह का एक और संबंधित उदाहरण देखेंगे।

यह एक बहुत ही सामान्य बात है, और अधिकांश लोग इसके बारे में सोचते भी नहीं हैं; वे यही मान कर चलते हैं कि जो परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखा हुआ है, यदि वे उसे कर रहे हैं, तो फिर जिस तरह से वह किया जा रहा है, उससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता है। वह हर हाल में परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में किया गया कार्य ही है, और इसलिए परमेश्वर को उससे प्रसन्न होना चाहिए और उसे स्वीकार करके उसके लिए उन्हें आशीष देनी चाहिए। इसलिए, वे परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी हुई परमेश्वर के कार्य और उसकी आराधना तथा उपासना से संबंधित बातों को बहुत हलके में लेते हैं, जैसे कि प्रभु यीशु के क्रूस को, प्रभु यीशु के लहू को, प्रभु-भोज में सम्मिलित होने को, बपतिस्मा लेने को, परमेश्वर को आराधना चढ़ाने उसकी उपासना करने को, इत्यादि। लोग इन सभी और वचन की ऐसी ही अन्य बातों को, चाहे श्रद्धा और भक्ति के भाव साथ, वैसे पालन करते हैं जैसा उन्हें सही या, सहज लगता है; किन्तु उस प्रकार से नहीं जैसा कि परमेश्वर के वचन में उनके बारे में लिखा और करने के लिए कहा गया है।

 

इस अनुचित निर्वाह में अन्य मनुष्यों, विशेषकर मण्डली के अगुवों और प्रधान लोगों की भूमिका बहुत महत्वपूर्ण होती है। लोग अकसर वही करते हैं जो उनके अगुवे और प्रधान लोग बताते और सिखाते हैं, न कि वह जो वचन में लिखा गया है - जबकि परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षा, पुराने एवं नए नियम, दोनों में इस प्रचालन के विपरीत है; सही शिक्षा मनुष्यों के नहीं, केवल परमेश्वर के वचन का ही पालन करने की है (सभोपदेशक 12:13-14; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। परमेश्वर के वचन की बजाए मनुष्यों की व्याख्या और समझ को अधिक महत्व देने, मनुष्यों की कही और बनाई बातों के आज्ञाकारी होने के द्वारा, वे परमेश्वर के वचन का योग्य भण्डारी होने की अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी में लापरवाह हो जाते हैं, उसका उचित निर्वाह नहीं करते हैं। साथ ही, ऐसा करने से, वे शैतान को उन्हें एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य के प्रति अन्‍धा भी बना लेने देते हैं – परमेश्वर और उसके मार्ग, न तो मनुष्य की कोई कल्पना अथवा रचना हैं, और न ही मनुष्य इस बात का निर्णय कर सकता है, न परमेश्वर को बाध्य कर सकता है कि परमेश्वर को किस बात से प्रसन्न होना चाहिए, और उसे क्या स्वीकार्य होना चाहिए, तथा किस बात के लिए मनुष्य को आशीष देनी चाहिए। इसके विपरीत, वास्तविक तथ्य यही है कि परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य को बनाया है, और परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य को यह भी बताया है कि उसे क्या पसंद है और क्या नहीं, तथा मनुष्य को किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता करनी है जिससे कि उसकी संगति में बना रहे, परमेश्वर उससे प्रसन्न रहे, और उसे आशीष दे।

यह बाइबल में, आरम्भ से ही, बहुधा बल देकर कहा गया और बारंबार दोहराया गया तथ्य है कि परमेश्वर से सम्बन्धित सभी बातों में, विशेषकर उसकी आराधना, उपासना, और सेवकाई के संबंध में, वह एकमात्र बात जो परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करती है और उसे स्वीकार्य है, वह है उसके तथा उसके वचन के प्रति आज्ञाकारिता (1 शमूएल 15:22; यिर्मयाह 7:23)। अकसर और सामान्यतः हम परमेश्वर के प्रति अनाज्ञाकारी होने से केवल यही समझते हैं कि जो परमेश्वर ने जो मना किया है उसे नहीं करना ही अनाज्ञाकारिता है। किन्तु सामान्यतः, बहुत से लोग जिस बात का एहसास नहीं करते हैं, जानते नहीं हैं, समझते नहीं हैं, और जो उन्हें अकसर सिखाई ही नहीं जाती है, वह है कि न केवल परमेश्वर के कहे हुए को नहीं करना अनाज्ञाकारिता है, परन्तु जिस रीति से परमेश्वर ने करने को कहा है उस रीति से नहीं करना भी अनाज्ञाकारिता ही है।

 

दूसरे शब्दों में, परमेश्वर ने जो कहा है यदि वह किया तो जाता है, किन्तु परमेश्वर द्वारा कहे गए, उसके वचन में निर्धारित किए गए तरीके से करने की बजाए, उसे किसी मनुष्य द्वारा तय किए गए तरीके से किया जाता है, तो यह भी परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता ही है। ये दोनों बातें, वह जो परमेश्वर ने करने को कहा है उसे न करना, और जैसा परमेश्वर ने कहा है वैसे नहीं करना, परमेश्वर की आज्ञा का, उसकी व्यवस्था का उल्लंघन हैं और 1 यूहन्ना 3:4 में दी गई परिभाषा के अनुसार ये पाप हैं। शैतान ने लुभा और फुसला कर आदम और हव्वा से यही करवाया – परमेश्वर के निर्देशों का उल्लंघन, और इसी कारण फिर पाप सृष्टि तथा मानव जाति में आ गया, तथा चारों और विनाश फैला दिया।

परमेश्वर इस बात के लिए कितना दृढ़ है कि परमेश्वर के कार्य परमेश्वर के तरीके से ही किए जाएँ, यह इस्राएल के मिस्र से छुड़ाए जाने से सम्बन्धित घटनाओं और बातों के उदाहरणों से देखा जा सकता है। हम निर्गमन की पुस्तक के इन उदाहरणों को अगले लेख से देखना आरम्भ करेंगे, और फिर उसके बाद कुछ अन्य उदाहरणों को भी देखेंगे, कि किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर उसके साथ संगति करने, उसकी आराधना और उपासना करने, और उसकी सेवकाई करने के तरीकों के बारे में बहुत दृढ़ है; और यदि भण्डारी होने की ज़िम्मेदारी को लापरवाही से निभाया जाता है, तो परमेश्वर उसे हलके में नहीं लेता है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Improper Behavior Towards God’s Word - 4

 

In the previous two articles we have seen one of Satan’s strategies, that he often uses to deceive the Christian Believers and lead them astray from God – entice and provoke them into trusting their own intellect and understanding more than trusting God’s Word, and then hastily going ahead to do and also make others do that seems which seems right to them. Instead of waiting to learn, check, and confirm before doing something preached and taught in the name of God, as from God’s Word, just accept it if it seems logical, okay, appealing, and/or is coming from a reputable source. Besides the example of Eve, we had seen three other examples from the Bible related to this satanic strategy – that of Job’s friends, of Paul’s attitude and point-of-view before his conversion, and of Peter - though reverentially but hastily rebuking the Lord and then being rebuked and set in his place by the Lord. Today we will consider another related form of inappropriate use of God’s Word, of misusing the commandments of God.

It is a very common practice, and most people do not even think twice about it; they simply assume that so long as they are doing what is mentioned in God’s Word, the manner of doing it does not matter. It is still something done in obedience to God, and God should be happy with it, accept it, and bless them for it. So, they very casually take things mentioned in God’s Word and with God’s work and worship, e.g., the Cross of the Lord Jesus, the Blood of Lord Jesus, the Holy Communion, Baptism, Worshipping God, etc., They use them and other things from God’s Word in a manner they think is right; though they do so reverentially, but not actually in accordance with what God has had written in His Word about them.

 

In this inappropriate way of doing things, the role of other people, particularly the Elders and prominent people in the Assembly is extremely important. Congregational people usually do what is told and taught to them by their Elders and leaders, and not what is written in God’s Word - whereas, the teaching of God’s Word, in both, the Old as well as the New Testament, is contrary to this practice; the correct teaching is to obey God’s Word and not any man’s (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). By giving a greater importance and obedience to man’s interpretation and teachings instead of God’s Word, and by obeying man-made and taught things, they are being irresponsible in their stewardship towards God’s Word, and are not fulfilling it appropriately. Moreover, because of this, they also allow Satan to make them overlook a very crucial fact – God and His ways are neither something imagined and created by men, nor can man decide and dictate what should please God, should be acceptable to Him, and should result in God blessing them for it. On the contrary, the fact of the matter is that man has been created by God and God has told man what is acceptable to Him, what pleases Him and what does not please Him, and how man should go about obeying God to remain in fellowship with Him, be pleasing to Him and then be blessed by Him.

It is an often-emphasized fact that has been reiterated throughout the Bible, that since the very beginning, in all things pertaining to God, particularly His worship and serving Him, the only thing that pleases God and is acceptable to Him, is obedience to Him and His Word (1 Samuel 15:22; Jeremiah 7:23). Commonly and generally, we understand being disobedient to God, only means not doing what God has forbidden. But usually what most people do not realize, do not know, do not understand, and it is hardly ever taught to them is that disobedience is not only not doing what God has forbidden, but it is also not doing something in the manner or way God has said it should be done.

 

In other words, doing what has been asked by God to do, but not doing it in the manner prescribed by God; instead doing it in a way that has been devised by man, in place of what God has given in His Word, is also disobeying God. Both of these, i.e., not doing what God has said, and not doing in the manner God wants it done are sin, as sin is defined in 1 John 3:4; because they are transgressions of God’s law (KJV), or lawlessness (NKJV, NIV, NASB). This is what Satan had enticed Adam and Eve to do – disobey God’s instructions, and thereby sin entered creation and into mankind, wreaking havoc all around.

How particular God is about doing God’s things in God’s ways is well illustrated by some incidents and examples from Israel’s deliverance from Egypt. We will start with this illustration from Exodus in the next article, and after that, also see some other examples of how God is very particular about things related to fellowshipping with Him, worshiping Him, and serving Him; and does not take it lightly if this stewardship is not carried out responsibly.
