    आज से हम एक नई श्रृंखला आरम्भ कर रहे हैं, जो परमेश्वर की सहायता, बुद्धिमता, और मार्गदर्शन में, उसके तथा उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता के द्वारा, एक आशीषित और सफल जीवन जीने के बारे में है। यह जीवन परमेश्वर के पुत्र प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास लाने और स्वेच्छा से उसे अपना उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण करने से नया-जन्म प्राप्त करने, अर्थात उद्धार पाने से मिलता है। उस जीवन को जीने के लिए हमें उद्धार पाने के पल से ही परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा को दे दिया जाता है, जो हमारा सहायक, मार्गदर्शक, और एक अद्भुत जीवन के लिए सामर्थ्य के स्त्रोत के रूप में प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में हमेशा निवास करता है।

    यह श्रृंखला राजा दाऊद द्वारा अपने पुत्र सुलैमान को अपने स्थान पर अपना उत्तराधिकारी राजा नियुक्त करने के बाद दिए गए निर्देशों पर आधारित है। दाऊद द्वारा सुलैमान को दिए गए निर्देशों को हम चार मुख्य शीर्षकों के अंतर्गत देखेंगे। किन्तु प्रत्येक शीर्षक की व्याख्या करते समय, हम विषय-वस्तु को कुछ और उप-शीर्षकों के अंतर्गत भी देखेंगे। विषय-वस्तु की प्रस्तुति और व्याख्या मुख्यतः ऐतिहासिक दृष्टिकोण से इस्राएल के राजाओं के बारे में नहीं होगी, वरन हमारे वर्तमान के संकटपूर्ण अन्त के दिनों, जिन में हम रह रहे हैं, की आवश्यकताओं और दृष्टिकोण के अनुसार की जाएगी। हम दाऊद द्वारा सुलैमान को दिए गए निर्देशों से संकेत लेंगे, और फिर उनके बारे में परमेश्वर के वचन से सीखेंगे, कि हम नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर को भावता हुआ जीवन जीने के लिए क्या करना चाहिए, अपना आंकलन करेंगे कि हम इसमें कहाँ चूक गए हैं, जांच कर देखेंगे कि कहीं शैतान ने हमें भरमा कर किसी गलत और बाइबल के विपरीत मार्ग पर बहका तो नहीं दिया है, किसी गलत धारणा अथवा सिद्धान्त में तो नहीं फँसा दिया है, और परमेश्वर के साथ अपने चलने को ठीक कर के सही मार्ग पर लौटेंगे, ताकि सभी समस्याओं और सताव के बावजूद हम अपने जीवनों में आशीषित और सफल हो सकें।

    इस श्रृंखला के लिए हमारी अगुवाई करने वाला खंड होगा 1 राजाओं 2:2-4, जहाँ पर राजा दाऊद, अपने देहांत से पहले अपने युवा पुत्र सुलैमान को निर्देश दे रहा है। दाऊद ने सुलैमान को परमेश्वर की इच्छा में होकर राजा बनाया था  (1 राजाओं 1:47-48; 1 इतिहास 28:5), और बाद में अन्य-जाति शासकों, जैसे कि हूराम और शीबा की रानी ने भी इस बात को माना (2 इतिहास 2:11-12; 9:8)। दाऊद द्वारा सुलैमान को दिए गए निर्देशों का विषय है किस प्रकार से वह एक परमेश्वर-भक्ति का जीवन जिए जिससे परमेश्वर कि वह परमेश्वर की कृपा में बढ़ता रहे, संपन्न रहे, और इस से आशीषित, सुरक्षित, और परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई ज़िम्मेदारी, अर्थात इस्राएल पर शासन करने और उन्हें परमेश्वर के भय में सुरक्षित और समृद्ध बनाए रखने, में सफल बना रहे।

    यह हमारे सामने कुछ बहुत महत्वपूर्ण लेकर आता है, जिस पर हम सभी को बहुत गंभीरता और गहराई से मनन करना चाहिए, तथा हमेशा उसे स्मरण रखना चाहिए – कि परमेश्वर द्वारा चुने जाने और नियुक्त किए जाने, उसकी कृपा का पात्र होने, परमेश्वर द्वारा ओहदा और ज़िम्मेदारियाँ मिलना इस बात की निश्चितता नहीं है कि परमेश्वर के जन के लिए जीवन सरल, सुरक्षित, और सकुशल होगा। शैतान हमेशा ही हमारी हानि करने और हमें बहकाने के प्रयास करता रहेगा (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3; 1 पतरस 5:8)। सभी मसीही विश्वासियों को संसार में समस्याओं और सताव का सामना करना ही पड़ेगा (यूहन्ना 16:33; फिलिप्पियों 1:29; 2 तीमुथियुस 3:12)। मसीही विश्वासी कभी भी जीवन को सहज और हलके में नहीं ले सकते हैं, आराम से बैठकर मज़े नहीं ले सकते हैं। बल्कि उन्हें सदा “अपने अपने उद्धार का कार्य पूरा करते” रहना होगा (फिलिप्पियों 2:12) – इसका तात्पर्य उद्धार के लिए कार्य करना नहीं है; वरन अपने जीवन और कार्यों के द्वारा प्रभु यीशु मसीह के द्वारा उद्धार मिलने को दिखाना है।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Introduction – 1

   

    From today we are starting a new series on learning to lead a blessed and successful life with the help, wisdom and guidance of God, through being obedient to Him and His Word, after coming to faith in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, voluntarily accepting Him as our Savior and Being Born-Again i.e., being saved, and thereby receiving the Holy Spirit as our helper and source of power for this wonderful life – a gift from God.

    This series is based upon the instructions given by King David to his son Solomon, after appointing him as his successor, as the king of Israel. We will be considering David’s instructions to Solomon under four main headings. But while expounding upon each heading, we will also have and consider the matter through other sub-headings. The subject matter will mainly be presented and expounded not from an ancient historical perspective of the Kings of Israel, but from our present-day need and perspective of the perilous end-times that we are living through. We will be taking cue from David’s instructions to Solomon, and through that learning from God’s Word the Bible what we, as Born-Again Christian Believers need to do to live a life pleasing to the Lord God, evaluate where we may have faltered in doing this, check if we have been waylaid and misguided by Satan into something wrong, into some unBiblical belief or doctrine, and rectify our walk with God, come back on to the right path, so that even through these problems and persecutions we may be blessed and successful in our lives.

    Our lead portion for this series will be 1 Kings 2:2-4, where King David, before his death, is instructing his young son, Solomon. David made Solomon as King of Israel in the will of God (1 Kings 1:47-48; 1 Chronicles 28:5), and even the Gentile rulers like King Hiram and the Queen of Sheba acknowledged this (2 Chronicles 2:11-12; 9:8). The content of David’s instructions to Solomon is about how to live a godly life, to grow and prosper in God's favor, and thereby be blessed, safe and successful in his God given responsibility, i.e., reign over Israel and keep them safe and prosperous in the fear of God.

    This brings before us something very important which we should all very seriously ponder over and always bear in mind – being the chosen of God, having God’s favor, receiving a God given status and responsibilities, is no guarantee of life being easy, safe, and secure for God’s people. Satan will always keep trying to mislead and harm us (2 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Peter 5:8). All Christian Believers will always suffer persecution and problems in this world (John 16:33; Philippians 1:29; 2 Timothy 3:12). Christian Believers can never take life for granted, sit back and enjoy. Rather, they have to always be “working out their salvation” (Philippians 2:12) – not working for their salvation, i.e., through their life and works, they should be demonstrating their being saved by the Lord Jesus.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था की प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने हमारे लिए व्यवस्था को पूरा कर के उसकी विधियों के लेख को, अर्थात विभिन्न बलिदानों, रीतियों, पर्वों के निर्वाह को हमारे सामने से हटा दिया है। किन्तु साथ ही प्रभु ने उस व्यवस्थापक या शास्त्री से, जिसने व्यवस्था के पालन का प्रश्न उठाया था, ज़ोर देकर उससे व्यवस्था के सही अभिप्राय के निर्वाह के लिए भी कहा, अर्थात परमेश्वर तथा मनुष्यों के साथ एक सही सम्बन्ध में आकर उसका ठीक से निर्वाह करते रहना। इसे समझने के लिए हमने कुलुस्सियों 2:13-17, विशेषकर, पद 14 और 16 से देखा था। इसी प्रकार से अब एक अन्य संबंधित पद, रोमियों 10:4 को भी देखिए, “क्योंकि हर एक विश्वास करने वाले के लिये धामिर्कता के निमित मसीह व्यवस्था का अन्त है।” यहाँ पर भी कोई विरोधाभास नहीं है। जैसा हमने पहले के लेखों में देखा था, व्यवस्था की ये बातें, जिन्हें प्रभु ने पूरा करके हमारे सामने से हटा दिया है, वे हमारे शिक्षक के समान थीं, जिन्होंने हमें पाप, उसकी जवाबदेही, उसके परिणामों, और केवल उद्धारकर्ता पर विश्वास के द्वारा पापों से निवारण की बातों को सिखाकर, परमेश्वर के लोगों को अब्राहम से प्रतिज्ञा किए गए “उसके वंश,” जगत के उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु यीशु मसीह के हाथों में सौंप दिया है। अब उस शिक्षक का कार्य और भूमिका पूरे होकर समाप्त हो गए हैं। इससे आगे जो भी है, वह प्रभु यीशु में और उसके द्वारा ही है, अन्य किसी बात से नहीं। इसीलिए मनुष्य को धर्मी बनाने के लिए, “धामिर्कता के निमित मसीह व्यवस्था का अन्त है”; अर्थात अब इसके आगे व्यवस्था की उन बातों की, जिन्हें मसीह द्वारा पूरा करके हटा दिया गया है, अब कोई भूमिका नहीं रह गई है, उनका अंत हो गया है। अब जो धार्मिकता है, वह मसीह यीशु में विश्वास की धार्मिकता है, “कि यदि तू अपने मुंह से यीशु को प्रभु जानकर अंगीकार करे और अपने मन से विश्वास करे, कि परमेश्वर ने उसे मरे हुओं में से जिलाया, तो तू निश्चय उद्धार पाएगा। क्योंकि धामिर्कता के लिये मन से विश्वास किया जाता है, और उद्धार के लिये मुंह से अंगीकार किया जाता है” (रोमियों 10:9-10)।

    किन्तु इन विधियों के लेख को पूरा कर के हटा लिए जाने से, व्यवस्था की, उसकी सही परिभाषा के अनुसार निर्वाह की अनिवार्यता, अर्थात परमेश्वर के साथ मेल-मिलाप और सम्बन्ध बहाल करने के लिए हर व्यक्ति द्वारा व्यक्तिगत रीति से अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करने, मसीह यीशु से उनके लिए क्षमा माँगने, और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित कर देने के द्वारा परमेश्वर के साथ अपने संबंधों को ठीक कर लेने की अनिवार्यता समाप्त नहीं हुई है, वरन स्थापित तथा और दृढ़ हो गई है “​सो जब हम विश्वास से धर्मी ठहरे, तो अपने प्रभु यीशु मसीह के द्वारा परमेश्वर के साथ मेल रखें” (“रोमियों 5:1)। परमेश्वर के साथ हुए हमारे इस मेल को विकसित करते जाने के लिए हमें अब किसी “विधियों के लेख” का पालन करने की नहीं, वरन प्रभु यीशु की आज्ञाकारिता और समर्पण में चलते रहने की आवश्यकता है “और वह इस निमित्त सब के लिये मरा, कि जो जीवित हैं, वे आगे को अपने लिये न जीएं परन्तु उसके लिये जो उन के लिये मरा और फिर जी उठा” (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15)।

    इसलिए आज भी मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए “व्यवस्था” का उसकी सही परिभाषा और अर्थ में पालन करने की उतनी ही आवश्यकता है, व्यवस्था की मसीही विश्वास के जीवन में उतनी ही महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका है, जितनी पहले थी। परमेश्वर का वचन, उसकी बातें कभी बदलती या टलती नहीं हैं; न परमेश्वर कभी बदलता है, और न उसका वचन कभी बदलता है “क्योंकि मैं यहोवा बदलता नहीं; इसी कारण, हे याकूब की सन्तान तुम नाश नहीं हुए” (मलाकी 3:6); “हे यहोवा, तेरा वचन, आकाश में सदा तक स्थिर रहता है। तेरी सच्चाई पीढ़ी से पीढ़ी तक बनी रहती है; तू ने पृथ्वी को स्थिर किया, इसलिये वह बनी है” (भजन 119:89-90)।

    अगले लेख से हम एक नई शृंखला आरंभ करेंगे।  यदि आप मसीही हैं, और अपने आप को किसी भी प्रकार की “व्यवस्था” - वह चाहे परमेश्वर की हो, या आपके धर्म, मत, समुदाय, या डिनॉमिनेशन की हो - के पालन के द्वारा धर्मी बनाने के, और अपने शरीर के कार्यों के द्वारा अपने आप को परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बनाने के प्रयासों में लगे हैं; तो ध्यान देकर समझ लीजिए कि परमेश्वर का वचन स्पष्ट बताता है कि व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा नहीं, वरन, परमेश्वर के दिए हुए पश्चाताप और समर्पण करने के मार्ग का पालन करने के द्वारा ही आप परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी और उसे स्वीकार्य बन सकते हैं। अभी समय और अवसर रहते सही मार्ग अपना लें, और व्यर्थ तथा निष्फल मार्ग को छोड़ दें।

English Translation

The Law & Living the Christian Faith – 2

 

 

    In the previous article we had seen that the Lord Jesus has fulfilled and put away for us the requirements of the Law, i.e., the observance and fulfilling various sacrifices, feasts, festivals etc. We had also seen that the Lord had also categorically asked the Scribe who had raised the question of observing the Law, that he should continue to observe the meaning, or, the purpose of the Law, i.e., to come into and live in a right relationship with God and man. To understand this, we had seen from Colossians 2:13-17, specifically, verses 14 and 16. Similarly, now consider another related verse, Romans 10:4, "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." Even here, there is no contradiction. As we have seen in the previous articles, these things of the Law, which the Lord has accomplished and removed from us, were like our teacher, who taught us about sin, our accountability for sin, its consequences, and deliverance from sin through faith in the Savior alone and has handed over God's people to the promised “seed of Abraham,” Lord Jesus Christ, the promised Savior of the world. Now the work and role of that teacher has been completed. Whatever is beyond this is in and through the Lord Jesus, nothing else. That is why in order to make man righteous, "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness"; That is, now those things of the Law, which have been done away with by Christ, no longer have any role, they have come to an end. The righteousness that exists now is the righteousness of faith in Christ Jesus, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).

    But the completion and taking away of these requirements of the Law, has not taken away the necessity of observing the Law by every person, in its correct definition and understanding; i.e., to be reconciled with God and be restored in fellowship with Him, every person has to personally repent of their sins, ask the Lord Jesus to forgive sins, and surrender his life to the Lord Jesus, and then continually live in that relationship; this application of the Law has been even more firmly established and confirmed “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). In order to continually maintain and develop this peace and reconciliation with God, we no longer need to follow any "requirements of the Law" but to walk in obedience and submission to the Lord Jesus "and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again" (2 Corinthians 5:15).

That's why there is just as much need for Christians today to follow the "Law" in its true definition and meaning, and it has an as important role in the life of Christian faith as it had earlier. The Word of God, His words never alter or change; God never changes, and his Word never changes “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob" (Malachi 3:6); “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides" (Psalm 119:89-90).

    From the next article we will start a new series. If you are a Christian, and consider yourself righteous and acceptable to God by observance of any kind of “law”—whether of God, or of your religion, creed, community, or denomination—and by the actions of your flesh; then, pay heed and understand that God's Word clearly states that you can become righteous and acceptable to God, not by keeping the requirements of the Law, but by following God's path of repentance and submission. Now, while you have the time and opportunity, take the right step, and leave the useless and fruitless path that you may have been walking upon till now.

    व्यवस्था और व्यावहारिक जीवन से संबंधित तीन प्रश्नों में से दो को - व्यवस्था द्वारा जीवन दिए जाने, और व्यवस्था के दिए जाने के उद्देश्य को हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं। आज हम तीसरे प्रश्न, व्यवस्था की मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में उपयोगिता और भूमिका के बारे में देखेंगे। वास्तव में व्यवस्था क्या है और उसके पालन से क्या अभिप्राय है, इसे हमने मत्ती 22:35-40 में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा एक व्यवस्थापक से हुई बातचीत से समझा था। हमने देखा था कि व्यवस्था कोई रीति-रिवाज़ों, पर्वों, भेंट-बलिदानों आदि का निर्वाह नहीं है। व्यवस्था परमेश्वर और मनुष्यों के साथ सही संबंध में आने और बने रहने के लिए परमेश्वर के निर्देश हैं, और परमेश्वर के इन निर्देशों का निर्वाह ही व्यवस्था का पालन करना है। जब मनुष्य का परमेश्वर के साथ संबंध सही हो जाता है, तो वह स्वतः ही उसके बदले हुए जीवन और अन्य मनुष्यों के साथ सही संबंध में रहने के द्वारा दिखने और प्रमाणित होने लगता है। प्रभु और व्यवस्थापक के मध्य हुई इसी बातचीत को हम आज के इस तीसरे प्रश्न के संदर्भ में लूका 10:25-28 से लेंगे, विशेषकर लूका 10:28 से, जहाँ प्रभु यीशु ने इस चर्चा के निष्कर्ष में उस व्यवस्थापक से कहा, “उसने [प्रभु यीशु ने] उस से कहा, तू ने ठीक उत्तर दिया है, यही कर: तो तू जीवित रहेगा” (लूका 10:28)। यह ध्यान देने योग्य बात है कि प्रभु यीशु ने उससे यह नहीं कहा कि “अब से तुझे यह सब करने की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ेगी। बस मुझ पर विश्वास कर लेना, और यह सब तेरे लिए स्वतः ही पूरा हो जाएगा।” वरन प्रभु ने जोर देकर, बात के निष्कर्ष में उससे कहा, “यही कर: तो तू जीवित रहेगा”, यानि कि, व्यवस्था की सही समझ और परिभाषा के पालन को अनिवार्य किया, और इसके बाद कभी भी अपनी कही इस बात को बदला नहीं। साथ ही एक बार फिर यह ध्यान में रखने की बात है कि प्रभु द्वारा उससे यही करने को कहना, उसके द्वारा कोई रीति-रिवाज़ों, पर्वों, भेंट-बलिदानों आदि का निर्वाह करने को कहना नहीं था। वरन, परमेश्वर और मनुष्यों के साथ सही संबंध में आना, और बने रहने को पूरा करने की बात थी, जैसा कि इसके आगे के नेक सामरी के दृष्टांत (लूका 10:29-37) से भी प्रकट है। 

   

    वर्तमान के, परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह के समय में, विश्वास द्वारा प्रभु से उद्धार को दान के रूप में प्राप्त करने के समय में, लोगों में इस तात्पर्य को लेकर एक असमंजस आ सकता है कि व्यवस्था का पालन करना तो फिर से कर्मों से धर्मी बनने की बात हो रही है, न कि विश्वास से धर्मी ठहरने की। किन्तु ऐसा नहीं है। इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है कि प्रभु यीशु ने व्यवस्था को पूरा कर के हमारे सामने से उसे हटा दिया है, अब मसीही विश्वासियों को उसके पालन करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं रही है, अब मसीह यीशु ही हमारा उद्धार और जीवन है (कुलुस्सियों 2:13-17)। किन्तु साथ ही यहाँ पद 14 और पद 16 पर ध्यान कीजिए, “और विधियों का वह लेख जो हमारे नाम पर और हमारे विरोध में था मिटा डाला; और उसको क्रूस पर कीलों से जड़ कर सामने से हटा दिया है” (कुलुस्सियों 2:14); “इसलिये खाने पीने या पर्व या नए चान्‍द, या सब्‍तों के विषय में तुम्हारा कोई फैसला न करे” (कुलुस्सियों 2:16)। यहाँ प्रयोग किए गए शब्दों पर ध्यान कीजिए और विचार कीजिए; पद 14 के अनुसार, जो हमारे विरोध में था वह “विधियों का लेख” था, जिसे पद 16 में “खाने पीने या पर्व या नए चान्‍द, या सब्‍तों” आदि की बातें कहा गया है, “उसको क्रूस पर कीलों से जड़ कर सामने से हटा दिया है”। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि ये सभी बातें प्रभु यीशु मसीह के चरित्र, जीवन, और समस्त मानव-जाति के उद्धार के लिए किए गए उनके कार्य के विभिन्न पहलुओं के प्ररूप और प्रतीक हैं। प्रभु यीशु ने इन सभी को अपनी देह में हमारे लिए पूरा कर के, अपने बलिदान और पुनरुत्थान के द्वारा इनके निर्वाह को हमारे सामने से हटा दिया है। प्रभु ने “व्यवस्था” को, अर्थात परमेश्वर के और मनुष्यों के साथ सही संबंध में आने और बने रहने को नहीं हटाया है, जो कि प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास लाने के द्वारा संभव होता है। 

    इस बात को हम अगले लेख में भी देखेंगे। यदि आप मसीही हैं, और अपने आप को किसी भी प्रकार की “व्यवस्था” - वह चाहे परमेश्वर की हो, या आपके धर्म, मत, समुदाय, या डिनॉमिनेशन की हो - के पालन के द्वारा धर्मी बनाने के, और अपने शरीर के कार्यों के द्वारा अपने आप को परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बनाने के प्रयासों में लगे हैं; तो ध्यान देकर समझ लीजिए कि परमेश्वर का वचन स्पष्ट बताता है कि व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा नहीं, वरन, परमेश्वर के दिए हुए पश्चाताप और समर्पण करने के मार्ग का पालन करने के द्वारा ही आप परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी और उसे स्वीकार्य बन सकते हैं। अभी समय और अवसर रहते सही मार्ग अपना लें, और व्यर्थ तथा निष्फल मार्ग को छोड़ दें।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Law & Living the Christian Faith – 1

 

    In the previous articles, we have seen two out of the three questions related to the Law and practical life; the questions regarding the giving of life by the Law, and regarding the purpose behind giving of the Law. Today we'll look at the third question, the utility and role of the Law in the life of a Christian Believer. We had understood from the Lord Jesus' conversation with a Scribe in Matthew 22:35-40 what the term “the Law” actually stands for, and what it means to follow the Law. We had seen that the Law is not the fulfilling of any rituals, feasts, offerings, sacrifices, etc. Rather, the Law are God's instructions to come into and live in the right relationship with God and with fellow humans; the living by and fulfilling God’s instructions regarding these is the observance of the Law. When man comes into a correct relationship with God, he automatically begins to demonstrate and affirm it by his changed life, and by living in the right relationship with other human beings too. We'll take this same conversation between the Lord and the Scribe in the context of considering our third question today, but from Luke 10:25-28, especially Luke 10:28, where the Lord Jesus concluded this discussion by saying to the Scribe, "And He [The Lord Jesus] said to him, ‘You have answered rightly; do this and you will live’" (Luke 10:28). It is of great importance and certainly worth noting that the Lord Jesus did not say to him that "from now on you will no longer need to do all this. Just believe in me, and it will all be done automatically for you." But, at the conclusion of the talk, the Lord insisted and said to him, "Do this: then you will live", i.e., made fulfilling the correct understanding and interpretation of the Law mandatory, and never changed His words after that. Once again, it is to be noted that the Lord’s asking him to do “this” was not asking him to fulfill the performing of any rituals, feasts, offerings, sacrifices etc. Rather, He was asking to get into, and stay in the right relationship with, God and humans; as is evidenced by the parable of the Good Samaritan in following verses (Luke 10:29-37).

    In the present times, the time of God's grace, the time of receiving salvation from the Lord as a gift, by faith, people may be confused about understanding the application of this teaching, of keeping the Law, misinterpreting it as again going towards becoming righteous by works. But it is not so. There is no doubt, no going back on the fact that the Lord Jesus has fulfilled the law and removed it from us, Christian Believers in the Lord Jesus are no longer required to observe these requirements of the Law, Christ Jesus and He alone is our salvation and life (Colossians 2:13-17). But also note here verse 14 and verse 16, “having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross” (Colossians 2:14); "So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths" (Colossians 2:16). Pay attention and consider the words used here; According to verse 14, what was against us was the “handwriting of requirements” which in verse 16 is referred to as “food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths” etc. It is these that the Lord Jesus “has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.” In the previous article we saw that all of these things are types and symbols of different aspects of the character, life, and work of the Lord Jesus Christ done for the salvation of all mankind. The Lord Jesus, having lived by and fulfilled all of these works for us in His body, has removed their requirement for us through His sacrifice and resurrection. The Lord has not removed the "Law," i.e., our coming into and living in a proper relationship with God and fellow human beings, which happens by coming into faith in the Lord Jesus.

    In the next article we will look at some other things about this. If you are a Christian, and consider yourself righteous and acceptable to God by observance of any kind of “law”—whether of God, or of your religion, creed, community, or denomination—and by the actions of your flesh; then, pay heed and understand that God's Word clearly states that you can become righteous and acceptable to God, not by keeping the requirements of the Law, but by following God's path of repentance and submission. Now, while you have the time and opportunity, take the right step, and leave the useless and fruitless path that you may have been walking upon till now.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

व्यवस्था की उपयोगिता के बारे में देखते हुए, पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि व्यवस्था प्रभु के आने तक, परमेश्वर के लोगों को उनके पाप की पहचान कराने और शिक्षा देने के लिए थी। अब, जब प्रभु यीशु ने आकर उद्धार के कार्य को पूरा कर दिया है, तो स्वतः ही व्यवस्था की सभी बातें पूरी होकर प्रभु के लोगों के द्वारा पालन करने से हटा ली गईं, और उस “शिक्षक” अर्थात व्यवस्था की उनके लिए आवश्यकता नहीं रही, “परन्तु जब विश्वास आ चुका, तो हम अब शिक्षक के आधीन न रहे” (गलातियों 3:25)। उस शिक्षक, व्यवस्था ने प्रभु के लोगों को पाप, उसके परिणाम, और परमेश्वर की धार्मिकता के मानकों के बारे में सिखा कर, परमेश्वर की उस धार्मिकता के सिद्ध स्वरूप प्रभु यीशु मसीह के हाथों में सौंप दिया है। अब जो कोई भी परमेश्वर की धार्मिकता को प्रभु यीशु मसीह में लाए गए विश्वास के द्वारा, उपहार के समान, प्रभु के हाथों से स्वीकार करता है, वह परमेश्वर की संतान और उसका वारिस बन जाता है, “क्योंकि तुम सब उस विश्वास करने के द्वारा जो मसीह यीशु पर है, परमेश्वर की सन्तान हो” (गलातियों 3:26), और फिर प्रभु में “अब न कोई यहूदी रहा और न यूनानी; न कोई दास, न स्वतंत्र; न कोई नर, न नारी; क्योंकि तुम सब मसीह यीशु में एक हो” (गलातियों 3:28)।

इस प्रकार, हम गलातियों 3 अध्याय से समझते हैं कि व्यवस्था का उद्देश्य था प्रतिज्ञा किए हुए उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु के आने तक, प्रभु के लोगों को एक शिक्षक के समान संभाले रखना। उन्हें पाप और उसके परिणामों के प्रति सचेत रखना, और कर्मों के द्वारा नहीं वरन केवल विश्वास के द्वारा ही पाप का निवारण संभव होना सिखाना। क्योंकि लोगों ने व्यवस्था को उसकी सही परिभाषा के अनुसार नहीं, वरन पर्वों तथा रीतियों का मनाना, और भेंट और बलिदानों को चढ़ाना समझ लिया, इसलिए वे व्यवस्था के मूल उद्देश्य को भुलाकर, एक औपचारिकता के समान उसके पूरा करने के असंभव कार्य में भटक गए। व्यवस्था का जो उद्देश्य था, उन्हें पाप की पहचान करवाना, उस की बजाए व्यवस्था के द्वारा धर्मी ठहरने की गलती में शैतान द्वारा उलझा दिए गए।

आज भी यही गलती मसीही समाज में अधिकांश लोग करने में लगे हुए हैं। आज भी वो समझते हैं कि किसी परिवार विशेष में जन्म लेने के कारण, उनके चर्च, डिनॉमिनेशन, मत, समुदायों, आदि की रीतियों के निर्वाह के द्वारा, कुछ पर्वों, रीतियों, और अनुष्ठानों, जैसे कि बपतिस्मा, प्रभु-भोज, आदि में भाग लेने, उन के निर्वाह के कारण परमेश्वर उन्हें अपनी संतान बनाने, उन्हें स्वर्ग में अपने साथ रखना स्वीकार करने के लिए बाध्य हो जाएगा। वे भी अपनी ही बनाई हुई व्यवस्था की बातों में उलझ कर पश्चाताप और विश्वास द्वारा परमेश्वर की धार्मिकता को प्राप्त करने की सच्चाई को मानने से भटके हुए हैं। कोई इस बात पर ज़रा सी भी गंभीरता से विचार नहीं करता है कि जब परमेश्वर के द्वारा दी गई व्यवस्था लोगों को उद्धार नहीं दे सकी, तो फिर मनुष्यों द्वारा बनाई, और सिखाई जाने वाली भिन्न चर्च और डिनॉमिनेशंस की विभिन्न व्यवस्थाएं यह कैसे करने पाएंगी?

The Utility of the Law – 2

 

    In the previous article, considering the utility of the Law, we had seen that the Law was meant to make God’s people recognize sin and to be their teacher. Now, when the Lord Jesus has come and completed the work of salvation, all things of the Law were automatically fulfilled by Him, and then were removed from being necessary for being observed by the Lord's people; i.e., then onwards, that “teacher” was no longer required for them, “but when faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor" (Galatians 3:25). That teacher, the Law, having taught the Lord's people about sin, its consequences, accountability for sin, and the standards of God's righteousness, then handed us over to the perfect incarnation of God's righteousness, into the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now whosoever accepts the righteousness of God, as a gift, from the hands of the Lord, by coming into faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, becomes a child of God and His heir, “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:26), and then in the Lord "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28).

    Thus, we understand from Galatians 3 that the purpose of the Law was to, as a teacher, safeguard the Lord's people until the Lord, the promised Savior, came. Keeping them conscious of sin and its consequences, and to teach them that their redemption from sin is possible not through any works but only through coming into faith in the Redeemer. Because people did not understand the Law according to its true definition, but misinterpreted it as a formality of regularly observing the feasts and rituals, and the offering of gifts and sacrifices, they lost sight of the true purpose of the Law, and got lost in the impossible task of fulfilling it. Instead of letting them recognize sin through the Law as had been intended, they were entangled by Satan in the mistake of trying to be justified by the Law.

    Even today most people in Christendom remain entrapped in making the same mistake. Even today they assume that by virtue of being born in a particular religion or family, because of their observances of the customs set by their church, denominations, sects, and communities, etc., in the form of certain days and festivals, traditions and rituals, and by participating in sacraments such as baptism, Holy Communion, etc. they are safe, and God is under compulsion to accept them as His children, to accept them to be with Him in heaven. By engaging in the things of their own making, they too have strayed from the truth of receiving God's righteousness through repentance and faith. Sadly, no one gives the slightest thought to the fact that when the Law given by God could not save people, how can the different laws of different churches and denominations, created and taught by man, deliver them?

    Salvation, forgiveness of sins, becoming a child of God, and being accepted into God's kingdom, is not through observance of any Law, but only by repenting of sins and accepting the Lord Jesus as Savior, surrendering to Him. In the next article, we'll look at our third question, the role of the law in the lives of Christians. For now, if you are a Christian, and are hoping to justify yourself by observing any sort of "law" — whether that of God, or of your religion, creed, community, or denomination — and are trying to make yourself acceptable to God by being ‘good’ through the works of the flesh; then pay heed and understand that God's Word clearly states that you become righteous and acceptable to God, not by keeping the Law, but only by following the God given path of repentance and submission to the Lord. Therefore, while you have the time and the opportunity, take the right decision, decide on the right path, and leave the useless and fruitless path.

You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
