पुरुषार्थ करना - 1

 

    हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि दाऊद ने अपने पुत्र सुलैमान को 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 में परमेश्वर के साथ सही बने रहने, परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दी गई ज़िम्मेदारियों को ठीक से पूरा करने, और आशीषित तथा सफल होने के लिए 4 निर्देश दिए थे। इन में से सबसे पहली बात जो दाऊद, सुलैमान से करने के लिए कहता है, वह है हिम्मत बांधकर पुरुषार्थ दिखा; अर्थात, चाहे जो भी परिस्थिति सामने क्यों न आए, हमेशा साहसी और दृढ़ होकर उसका सामना करने के लिए तैयार रहना होगा। सुलैमान को कभी इस तथ्य को नहीं भूलना था कि वह उस गद्दी पर परमेश्वर द्वारा नियुक्त किया गया है (1 राजाओं 10:9; 1 इतिहास 28:5-6; 29:1), और इसलिए वह परमेश्वर की ज़िम्मेदारी है। इसका अर्थ हुआ कि उसे कभी भी किसी भी व्यक्ति अथवा परिस्थिति से घबराना नहीं था; उसे हमेशा परमेश्वर पर अपना भरोसा बनाए रखना था कि वह सर्वदा उसके साथ है, उसकी सहायता करने, मार्गदर्शन करने, और हर परिस्थिति में सुरक्षित रखने के लिए।

    लेकिन उसके पिता, दाऊद, में होकर परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे इस निर्देश के दिए जाने का यह अभिप्राय भी था कि यद्यपि सुलैमान, जैसे दाऊद था, वैसे ही परमेश्वर द्वारा चुना गया और नियुक्त किया गया राजा था, किन्तु जैसा दाऊद के साथ हुआ था, वैसे ही सुलैमान के लिए भी जीवन कभी सहज और कोमल नहीं होगा। सुलैमान को हर प्रकार की परिस्थितियों का सामना करना पड़ेगा, और परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दी गई ज़िम्मेदारियों के निर्वाह के लिए उसकी अच्छे से परीक्षा ली जाएगी। उस पर निश्चय ही आने वाली इन परिस्थितियों पर जयवंत होने का एक ही तरीका है कि परमेश्वर द्वारा मिली सामर्थ्य से उनका साहस और दृढ़ता से सामना किया जाए। साथ ही उनका सामना करने के लिए उसे अपने आप को उनके लिए शारीरिक, मानसिक, और आत्मिक दृष्टि से तैयार बनाए रखना था। यदि वह एक नकारात्मक अथवा हार मान लेने के दृष्टिकोण से आरम्भ करता, अपने आप को घबराया हुआ अनुभव करता; या ज़िम्मेदारियों के प्रति एक लापरवाही का, बात को यूँ ही हलके में लेने का रवैया रखता, तो फिर वह कभी कुछ नहीं करने पाता।

    इसी प्रकार से, परमेश्वर की संतानों के, मसीही विश्वास के जीवन को जीने, उसमें बढ़ते तथा परिपक्व होते जाने के लिए, यह मान कर चलना चाहिए कि हम परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य से सब कुछ कर सकते हैं (फिलिप्पियों 4:13)। उनमें न केवल हर प्रकार की परिस्थितियों और समस्याओं के विषय एक पहले से सोचने की प्रवृत्ति और साहस के साथ उनका सामना करने की इच्छा होनी चाहिए, वरन उनके लिए तैयार भी रहना चाहिए और सामने आने वाली सभी संभावनाओं में कड़ा परिश्रम करने से भी नहीं घबराना चाहिए। अपने बच्चों की सहायता करने के लिए, जिससे कि वे परिस्थितियों के बारे में विचार कर के तैयार हो सकें, और उनका सामना करने के लिए तैयार हो सकें, परमेश्वर ने अपने प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए विश्वासी को अपना पवित्र आत्मा दिया है (यूहन्ना 14:16, 17, 26)। कुछ डिनौमिनेशंस के द्वारा प्रचार किए और सिखाए गए बाइबल के प्रतिकूल प्रचार तथा शिक्षाओं के विप्रीत, बाइबल के अनुसार, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा स्वतः ही प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में, उसके प्रभु में विश्वास करने और उद्धार पाने के समय, उसी पल से ही, तुरंत ही आ जाता है (इफिसियों 1:13-14)।

    मसीही विश्वास का जीवन आराम से बैठकर बातों को यूँ ही हलके में लेने का जीवन नहीं है। प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास में आने के द्वारा नया जन्म पाना या उद्धार पाना, प्रक्रिया का पूरा होना नहीं है, बल्कि एक आरम्भ है, नए जीवन में उठाया गया पहला कदम ही है। इस नए जीवन में सभी पुरानी बातों को बदलना होगा, नई बातों को सीखना तथा उनके अनुसार जीवन जीना और उनका पालन करना सीखना होगा। यह स्वयं की संतुष्टि के लिए अपनी इच्छाओं के अनुसार जिया गया जीवन नहीं होता है, बल्कि प्रभु यीशु के लिए जिया जाने वाला जीवन होता है (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15, 17)। मसीही विश्वास के जीवन में इस प्रकार की बढ़ोतरी और परिपक्वता की आवश्यकता की पुष्टि बाइबल के हवालों से हो जाती है, जैसे कि, 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-3, इब्रानियों 5:12, इफिसियों 4:13-15, 1 पतरस 2:1-2, आदि। परमेश्वर की संतान को केवल शारीरिक ही नहीं, बल्कि आत्मिक रीति से भी बढ़ते जाना है।

    बहुत से लोग, चाहे मसीही विश्वासी हों या न हों, हर बात के लिए कुड़कुड़ाने और हारा हुआ होने का रवैया रखते हैं। वे हमेशा अभिभूत रहते हैं, उनके जीवनों में होने वाली हर बात के लिए शिकायत करते हैं, बड़बड़ाते रहते हैं, और कभी कुछ नहीं करने पाते हैं। जब हम परमेश्वर पर पूरा भरोसा करना सीखते हैं, तब ही हम यह विश्वास कर सकते हैं कि परमेश्वर हमें सभी परिस्थितियों में से निकालता हुआ सभी बातों को पूरा भी करवाएगा (2 कुरिन्थियों 12:9)। और तब हम एक जयवंत तथा हासिल कर लेने वाला जीवन जीने पाएँगे, परमेश्वर की आशीषें हमारे साथ होंगी, और परमेश्वर जो ज़िम्मेदारियाँ हमें देता है, जिनके लिए उसने हमें अपनी सामर्थ्य दी है, उन्हें पूरा करने पाएंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Being a Man - 1

 

    We have seen in the previous article that David gave his son Solomon 4 instructions in 1 Kings 2:2-4 to stay right with God, properly fulfill his God given responsibilities, and be blessed and successful. The very first thing that David instructs Solomon to do is to be a man, i.e., always be strong and courageous to face whatever may come his way. Solomon was never to ignore or forget the fact that he was God's chosen appointee to the post (1 Kings 10:9; 1 Chronicles 28:5-6; 29:1); therefore, he was God’s responsibility. This meant that he was never to be daunted by anyone or anything; he had always to be trusting that God is always with him to help, guide and keep him safe in all situations, and from everyone.

    But God instructing him through his father, David, was also indirectly telling Solomon that though he was a God chosen and appointed King, like David was, still as had been for David, life would never be easy and soft for him. Solomon will have to face all kinds of situations and will be tested thoroughly in fulfilling his God given responsibilities. The only way to overcome the situations that surely will come his way was to not only be willing to face them bravely in God’s strength, but also under God’s guidance, to keep preparing himself, physically, mentally, as well as spiritually for them. If he were to start with a negative or a defeatist mentality, feeling overwhelmed; or if he had a casual and uncaring attitude towards his responsibilities, a tendency of taking things lightly, then he would never be able to accomplish anything.

    Similarly, God’s children, for living the Christian life and faith, growing and maturing in it, should always believe that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). This also requires not only an anticipation and willingness to face all kinds of situations and problems bravely, but also a preparation for them, and resolute laboring to be ready for the various possibilities that may occur. For helping His children anticipate, prepare, and be ready for the situations, God has given His Holy Spirit to every Born-Again Christian Believer (John 14:16, 17, 26). Quite unlike the unBiblical doctrine preached and taught by some denominations, Biblically speaking, God the Holy Spirit spontaneously comes to reside in the Christian Believer from the very moment of his believing in the Lord and being saved (Ephesians 1:13-14).

    Christian life and living is not a life of sitting back and taking things easy. Being Born-Again or saved by coming into faith in the Lord Jesus, is not the completion, but only the first step into a new life. In this new life, all the old things have to change, new things have to be learnt, lived, and followed. It has to be a life lived not for self or self-gratification, but for the Lord Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:15, 17). Biblical passages, e.g., 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, Hebrews 5:12, Ephesians 4:13-15, 1 Peter 2:1-2 allude to this growth and maturity that is expected in a Christian Believer’s life after coming into faith. A child of God has to not only grow physically, but spiritually as well.

    Many people, whether Believers or not, live with a grumbling and defeatist attitude about everything. They are always overwhelmed, complaining, and grumbling about anything and everything in their lives, and they never can achieve anything. It is only when we learn to trust God for everything, that we can believe that God will help us go through everything and accomplish everything (2 Corinthians 12:9). And then we can live an overcoming and achieving life, have the blessings of God and be successful in accomplishing all that God wants us to do, and has empowered us for.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

निर्देश – रूपरेखा

  

    हमने पिछले दो प्रस्तावना के लेखों में देखा है कि परमेश्वर का चुना हुआ होना सुलैमान के लिए इस बात की कोई निश्चितता नहीं था कि उसके लिए जीवन सहज होगा। वरन, इस्राएल का राजा होने की परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दी गई ज़िम्मेदारी का निर्वाह करने में समस्याओं और परिस्थितियों का सामना तो उसे करना ही था। साथ ही दाऊद द्वारा उससे कही गयी बात में निहितार्थ था कि अपनी सुरक्षा और बचाव के लिए, उसे दाऊद द्वारा खड़ी की गई विशाल सेना पर नहीं, वरन परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखना होगा, उसका आज्ञाकारी रहना होगा, और ऐसा करने से वह आशीषित एवं सफल भी होगा। दाऊद, 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 में, सुलैमान को निर्देश देता है कि वह किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सही, तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई सामर्थ्य, बुद्धिमानी, और मार्गदर्शन के द्वारा आशीषित एवं सफल हो सकता है। इसके लिए उसे इन चार बातों का पालन करना होगा, जिनकी रूप रेखा 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 में दी गई है:

1.   “तू हियाव बांधकर पुरुषार्थ दिखा” (1 राजाओं 2:2)

2.   “जो कुछ तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा ने तुझे सौंपा है, उसकी रक्षा कर”; अर्थात, वह परमेश्वर द्वारा उसी सौंपी गई बातों का एक अच्छा भण्डारी बने (1 राजाओं 2:3a)

3.   जितनी बातें परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी हैं, वह उनका आज्ञाकारी बना रहे (1 राजाओं 2:3b)

4.   वह सावधान रहे, और हमेशा प्रभु के प्रति समर्पित बना रहे (1 राजाओं 2:4)

 

    जैसे सुलैमान बातों के बारे में अपनी कल्पना के अनुसार नहीं चल सकता था, और न ही किसी भी बात को यूँ ही हलके में नहीं ले सकता था, ठीक उसी तरह से मसीही विश्वासी भी बातों को अपनी कल्पना के अनुसार नहीं ले सकते हैं, और न ही अपने मसीही जीवन और ज़िम्मेदारियों को हलके में ले सकते हैं। जो 4 निर्देश सुलैमान के लिए थे, वही प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए भी लागू होते हैं। उनके पालन करने से ही वे अपने मसीही जीवनों में आशीषित एवं सफल तथा परमेश्वर की आशीषों के भागीदार हो सकते हैं, विशेषकर इन अन्त के दिनों में, जब शैतानी शक्तियाँ हम पर, हमारे जीवन के सभी पक्षों पर निरंतर विभिन्न तरह से हमले करने में लगी हुई हैं।

    हम एक समर्पित मसीही जीवन जीने के लिए तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा हमें दी गयी ज़िम्मेदारियों का निर्वाह करने के लिए इन 4 सिद्धान्तों का उपयोग सीखेंगे, जिस से कि हम हमारे उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु यीशु में लाए गए विश्वास के द्वारा हमें मिले जीवन को परमेश्वर की महिमा तथा अपनी आशीषों के लिए जी सकें। आगे आने वाले लेखों में हम इन में से प्रत्येक निर्देश के साथ जुड़ी हुई विभिन्न बातों की जांच करेंगे, यह देखने के लिए कि क्या हम उनके बारे में बाइबल की शिक्षाओं के अनुसार समझ-बूझ रखते हैं या नहीं; और यदि नहीं, तो इन में से प्रत्येक निर्देश से संबंधित बाइबल की शिक्षाओं को सीख कर अपनी गलतियों को सुधार लें।

English Translation

Instructions – Outline

 

    We have seen in the previous two Introductory articles that being the chosen one of God was no guarantee of an easy life for Solomon. Rather, he was bound to face problems and situations in fulfilling his God assigned responsibility of being the King of Israel. David also implies to Solomon that for his safety and security, he should not rely upon the huge army that David had amassed; rather he had to rely upon God, be obedient to Him, which would also make him blessed and successful. In 1 Kings 2:2-4, David instructs Solomon on how to be right with God and be blessed and successful through the strength, wisdom, and guidance of God. For this to happen, he has to do the following 4 things that have been outlined in 1 Kings 2:2-4:

1.   To "be strong and prove yourself a man" (1Ki 2:2).

2.   To "keep the charge of the Lord God", i.e., to be a good Steward of whatever God has given to him (1Ki 2:3a).

3.   To be obedient to the Word of God, in all things written in it. (1Ki 2:3b).

4.   To be careful, taking heed, to remain sincere and committed to the Lord always (1Ki 2:4b).

    Just as Solomon could not assume things, nor take anything for granted, similarly we Christian Believers cannot assume anything, nor take our Christian life and responsibilities for granted. The same 4 instructions that were for Solomon, also apply to every Christian Believer. Only by obeying them can they be blessed and successful in their Christian lives and be partakers of God's blessings, particularly in these end times when we are facing the relentless attacks of satanic forces in various ways and in every aspect of our lives.

    We will use these 4 principles to learn about living a committed Christian life, fulfilling our God given responsibilities, a life that glorifies God, and brings blessings to our lives through our faith in the Lord Jesus as our Redeemer and Savior. In our study in the coming articles, we will examine and look into various aspects associated with each of these instructions, to see if we have a Biblical understanding about them or not; and if not, then to rectify our errors by learning the Biblical teachings about each of these instructions.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि दाऊद के बाद इस्राएल का राजा होने के लिए सुलैमान को परमेश्वर ने चुना था। लेकिन इस से उसे यह निश्चितता नहीं थी कि उसका जीवन सहज होगा, और वह बातों को यूँ ही हलके में ले सकता है। बल्कि उसे अपने आप को तैयार करना था कि वह समस्याओं का सामना कर सके और परमेश्वर की सहायता एवं मार्गदर्शन द्वारा उन बातों पर जयवंत हो सके। यही बात प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए भी लागू होती है; प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उस पर शैतान द्वारा लाई जा रही समस्याओं का सामना करना ही होगा। किन्तु यदि वह प्रभु के प्रति समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी बना रहे, तो न केवल वह उन से छूटने पाएगा वरन उनके कारण आशीषित भी होगा (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:17; 1 पतरस 3:14)।

    युवावस्था से ही दाऊद बहुत साहसी पुरुष था (1 शमूएल 17:34-37), और बाद में एक सुप्रसिद्ध शूरवीर योद्धा भी बना गया था (1 शमूएल 16:18; 18:7; 2 शमूएल 17:8)। आस-पास के राजाओं और राज्यों में यह साहस नहीं था कि जब तक वह गद्दी पर था, इस्राएल पर राज कर रहा था, उसके साथ किसी भी प्रकार की कोई छेड़खानी करें। लेकिन उसका उत्तराधिकारी सुलैमान जब राजा बना, तब वह लड़का ही था, और युद्ध तथा शासन कला में अनुभवहीन था (1 राजाओं 3:7)। इसलिए दाऊद तथा इस्राएल के शत्रुओं को यह प्रलोभन हो सकता था कि दाऊद के देहांत के बाद अपना बदला लें; और सुलैमान के साथ वह करें, जो वे दाऊद के साथ नहीं करने पाए थे। इसीलिए दाऊद सुलैमान को ये निर्देश देता है कि इस्राएल का आशीषित एवं सफल राजा होने के लिए उसे सदा ही परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखने वाला, उसी पर निर्भर होना होगा, और परमेश्वर को ही अपना सहायक और अपनी सुरक्षा बनाना होगा।

    यहाँ पर यह बहुत ध्यान देने योग्य बात है कि यद्यपि दाऊद ने अपने जीवन में बहुत से युद्ध लड़े थे, और एक शूरवीर योद्धा होने की ख्याति प्राप्त की थी (1 शमूएल 18:7), और एक राजा होने पर एक बहुत विशाल सेना भी खड़ी कर ली थी (1 इतिहास 21:5-6), लेकिन फिर भी वह सुलैमान से सुरक्षा तथा बचाव के लिए उस सेना में भरोसा रखने, जिसे वह विरासत में प्राप्त कर रहा है, या उस सेना को और बढ़ाने के लिए नहीं कहता है। दाऊद अपने जीवन और अनुभवों से जानता था कि सुलैमान के सुरक्षित रहने और समृद्ध होने का एकमात्र तरीका किन्हीं सांसारिक बातों से नहीं है; बल्कि केवल परमेश्वर की सहायता, मार्गदर्शन, बुद्धिमत्ता, और सामर्थ्य के द्वारा है।

    परमेश्वर चाहता है कि हम मसीही विश्वासी इस पाठ को भली-भांति सीख लें; विशेषकर इन अंत के दिनों में जब परमेश्वर की संतानों का विरोध और सताव बढ़ता और बिगड़ता ही जा रहा है। लेकिन हमें हमेशा ही यह ध्यान रखना होगा कि सिंहासन पर परमेश्वर ही विराजमान है। वह हम में से प्रत्येक के बारे में सब कुछ जानता है। उसे हमारी परिस्थितियों और आवश्यकताओं के बारे में, तथा उनके लिए क्या करना है, यह भली-भांति पता है। हमें उस पर भरोसा रखना और उसका आज्ञाकारी होना, तथा उसे हम में होकर और हमारे लिए उसकी इच्छा को पूरा करने देने को सीखना ही होगा, जिससे कि हम आशीषित और सफल बन सकें, तथा उसके नाम की महिमा हो। हमारी सुरक्षा और बचाव किसी “सांसारिक सेना”, या सँसार के लोगों, सांसारिक सामर्थ्य, और सांसारिक तरीकों से नहीं है, बल्कि केवल प्रभु परमेश्वर के द्वारा है, चाहे हमें कुछ समय के लिए कुछ दुःख भी क्यों न उठाने पड़ें (1 पतरस 5:10; 2 पतरस 2:9)।

Introduction – 2

 

    In the previous article we have seen that Solomon was God’s choice to be king over Israel after David. But this did not guarantee him that he will have an easy life, and he can take things for granted. Rather, he had to prepare himself to face problems and overcome them through God’s help and guidance. The same holds true for every Christian Believer as well; every Christian Believer will face problems brought upon him by Satan, but if he remains submitted and obedient to the Lord, he will not only be delivered out of them but also be blessed because of them (2 Corinthians 4:17; 1 Peter 3:14).

    Even as a young lad David was a very courageous person (1 Samuel 17:34-37), and later on was a well-known warrior (1 Samuel 16:18; 18:7; 2 Samuel 17:8). The surrounding kings and kingdoms did not have the guts to meddle with him in any manner, while he was on the throne, ruling Israel. But his successor, Solomon, when he became king, was young, was inexperienced in war as well as statesmanship (1 Kings 3:7). Therefore, the enemies of David and Israel could easily have been tempted to take their revenge upon him after David's death; and do with Solomon what they could not do to David. Therefore, David instructs Solomon that to remain blessed and successful as King of Israel, he always has to remain totally trusting, obedient and dependent upon God, to let God be his help and security.

    It is very important to note over here that though in his lifetime David had fought many battles, gained a reputation of being valiant warrior (1 Samuel 18:7), and as king, had built up a huge army (1 Chronicles 21:5-6), but he does not instruct Solomon to trust in the army he is inheriting, nor asks him to increase it further for his safety and security. David, from his own life and experiences knew that the only way Solomon would stay safe, as well as prosper will not be through any worldly means, but will only be through the help, guidance, wisdom, and strength from God.

    God wants us Christian Believers to learn this lesson and learn this well; more so in these end-times when opposition and persecution of God’s children is spreading, and will only increase and go from bad to worse. But we need to always keep in mind that God is on the throne. He knows everything about every one of us. He well knows our situations and needs, and how to manage them for us. We have to learn to be trusting in Him, be obedient to Him, and allow Him to do His will in and through us, so that we can be blessed and successful, while His name is glorified. Our safety and security are not through or because of any “earthly army” or worldly people, powers, and means, but through the Lord God, even if we have to suffer for some time (1 Peter 5:10; 2 Peter 2:9).

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    आज से हम एक नई श्रृंखला आरम्भ कर रहे हैं, जो परमेश्वर की सहायता, बुद्धिमता, और मार्गदर्शन में, उसके तथा उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता के द्वारा, एक आशीषित और सफल जीवन जीने के बारे में है। यह जीवन परमेश्वर के पुत्र प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास लाने और स्वेच्छा से उसे अपना उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण करने से नया-जन्म प्राप्त करने, अर्थात उद्धार पाने से मिलता है। उस जीवन को जीने के लिए हमें उद्धार पाने के पल से ही परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा को दे दिया जाता है, जो हमारा सहायक, मार्गदर्शक, और एक अद्भुत जीवन के लिए सामर्थ्य के स्त्रोत के रूप में प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में हमेशा निवास करता है।

English Translation

Introduction – 1

   

    From today we are starting a new series on learning to lead a blessed and successful life with the help, wisdom and guidance of God, through being obedient to Him and His Word, after coming to faith in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, voluntarily accepting Him as our Savior and Being Born-Again i.e., being saved, and thereby receiving the Holy Spirit as our helper and source of power for this wonderful life – a gift from God.

    This series is based upon the instructions given by King David to his son Solomon, after appointing him as his successor, as the king of Israel. We will be considering David’s instructions to Solomon under four main headings. But while expounding upon each heading, we will also have and consider the matter through other sub-headings. The subject matter will mainly be presented and expounded not from an ancient historical perspective of the Kings of Israel, but from our present-day need and perspective of the perilous end-times that we are living through. We will be taking cue from David’s instructions to Solomon, and through that learning from God’s Word the Bible what we, as Born-Again Christian Believers need to do to live a life pleasing to the Lord God, evaluate where we may have faltered in doing this, check if we have been waylaid and misguided by Satan into something wrong, into some unBiblical belief or doctrine, and rectify our walk with God, come back on to the right path, so that even through these problems and persecutions we may be blessed and successful in our lives.

    Our lead portion for this series will be 1 Kings 2:2-4, where King David, before his death, is instructing his young son, Solomon. David made Solomon as King of Israel in the will of God (1 Kings 1:47-48; 1 Chronicles 28:5), and even the Gentile rulers like King Hiram and the Queen of Sheba acknowledged this (2 Chronicles 2:11-12; 9:8). The content of David’s instructions to Solomon is about how to live a godly life, to grow and prosper in God's favor, and thereby be blessed, safe and successful in his God given responsibility, i.e., reign over Israel and keep them safe and prosperous in the fear of God.

    This brings before us something very important which we should all very seriously ponder over and always bear in mind – being the chosen of God, having God’s favor, receiving a God given status and responsibilities, is no guarantee of life being easy, safe, and secure for God’s people. Satan will always keep trying to mislead and harm us (2 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Peter 5:8). All Christian Believers will always suffer persecution and problems in this world (John 16:33; Philippians 1:29; 2 Timothy 3:12). Christian Believers can never take life for granted, sit back and enjoy. Rather, they have to always be “working out their salvation” (Philippians 2:12) – not working for their salvation, i.e., through their life and works, they should be demonstrating their being saved by the Lord Jesus.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था की प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने हमारे लिए व्यवस्था को पूरा कर के उसकी विधियों के लेख को, अर्थात विभिन्न बलिदानों, रीतियों, पर्वों के निर्वाह को हमारे सामने से हटा दिया है। किन्तु साथ ही प्रभु ने उस व्यवस्थापक या शास्त्री से, जिसने व्यवस्था के पालन का प्रश्न उठाया था, ज़ोर देकर उससे व्यवस्था के सही अभिप्राय के निर्वाह के लिए भी कहा, अर्थात परमेश्वर तथा मनुष्यों के साथ एक सही सम्बन्ध में आकर उसका ठीक से निर्वाह करते रहना। इसे समझने के लिए हमने कुलुस्सियों 2:13-17, विशेषकर, पद 14 और 16 से देखा था। इसी प्रकार से अब एक अन्य संबंधित पद, रोमियों 10:4 को भी देखिए, “क्योंकि हर एक विश्वास करने वाले के लिये धामिर्कता के निमित मसीह व्यवस्था का अन्त है।” यहाँ पर भी कोई विरोधाभास नहीं है। जैसा हमने पहले के लेखों में देखा था, व्यवस्था की ये बातें, जिन्हें प्रभु ने पूरा करके हमारे सामने से हटा दिया है, वे हमारे शिक्षक के समान थीं, जिन्होंने हमें पाप, उसकी जवाबदेही, उसके परिणामों, और केवल उद्धारकर्ता पर विश्वास के द्वारा पापों से निवारण की बातों को सिखाकर, परमेश्वर के लोगों को अब्राहम से प्रतिज्ञा किए गए “उसके वंश,” जगत के उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु यीशु मसीह के हाथों में सौंप दिया है। अब उस शिक्षक का कार्य और भूमिका पूरे होकर समाप्त हो गए हैं। इससे आगे जो भी है, वह प्रभु यीशु में और उसके द्वारा ही है, अन्य किसी बात से नहीं। इसीलिए मनुष्य को धर्मी बनाने के लिए, “धामिर्कता के निमित मसीह व्यवस्था का अन्त है”; अर्थात अब इसके आगे व्यवस्था की उन बातों की, जिन्हें मसीह द्वारा पूरा करके हटा दिया गया है, अब कोई भूमिका नहीं रह गई है, उनका अंत हो गया है। अब जो धार्मिकता है, वह मसीह यीशु में विश्वास की धार्मिकता है, “कि यदि तू अपने मुंह से यीशु को प्रभु जानकर अंगीकार करे और अपने मन से विश्वास करे, कि परमेश्वर ने उसे मरे हुओं में से जिलाया, तो तू निश्चय उद्धार पाएगा। क्योंकि धामिर्कता के लिये मन से विश्वास किया जाता है, और उद्धार के लिये मुंह से अंगीकार किया जाता है” (रोमियों 10:9-10)।

    किन्तु इन विधियों के लेख को पूरा कर के हटा लिए जाने से, व्यवस्था की, उसकी सही परिभाषा के अनुसार निर्वाह की अनिवार्यता, अर्थात परमेश्वर के साथ मेल-मिलाप और सम्बन्ध बहाल करने के लिए हर व्यक्ति द्वारा व्यक्तिगत रीति से अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करने, मसीह यीशु से उनके लिए क्षमा माँगने, और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित कर देने के द्वारा परमेश्वर के साथ अपने संबंधों को ठीक कर लेने की अनिवार्यता समाप्त नहीं हुई है, वरन स्थापित तथा और दृढ़ हो गई है “​सो जब हम विश्वास से धर्मी ठहरे, तो अपने प्रभु यीशु मसीह के द्वारा परमेश्वर के साथ मेल रखें” (“रोमियों 5:1)। परमेश्वर के साथ हुए हमारे इस मेल को विकसित करते जाने के लिए हमें अब किसी “विधियों के लेख” का पालन करने की नहीं, वरन प्रभु यीशु की आज्ञाकारिता और समर्पण में चलते रहने की आवश्यकता है “और वह इस निमित्त सब के लिये मरा, कि जो जीवित हैं, वे आगे को अपने लिये न जीएं परन्तु उसके लिये जो उन के लिये मरा और फिर जी उठा” (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15)।

    इसलिए आज भी मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए “व्यवस्था” का उसकी सही परिभाषा और अर्थ में पालन करने की उतनी ही आवश्यकता है, व्यवस्था की मसीही विश्वास के जीवन में उतनी ही महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका है, जितनी पहले थी। परमेश्वर का वचन, उसकी बातें कभी बदलती या टलती नहीं हैं; न परमेश्वर कभी बदलता है, और न उसका वचन कभी बदलता है “क्योंकि मैं यहोवा बदलता नहीं; इसी कारण, हे याकूब की सन्तान तुम नाश नहीं हुए” (मलाकी 3:6); “हे यहोवा, तेरा वचन, आकाश में सदा तक स्थिर रहता है। तेरी सच्चाई पीढ़ी से पीढ़ी तक बनी रहती है; तू ने पृथ्वी को स्थिर किया, इसलिये वह बनी है” (भजन 119:89-90)।

    अगले लेख से हम एक नई शृंखला आरंभ करेंगे।  यदि आप मसीही हैं, और अपने आप को किसी भी प्रकार की “व्यवस्था” - वह चाहे परमेश्वर की हो, या आपके धर्म, मत, समुदाय, या डिनॉमिनेशन की हो - के पालन के द्वारा धर्मी बनाने के, और अपने शरीर के कार्यों के द्वारा अपने आप को परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बनाने के प्रयासों में लगे हैं; तो ध्यान देकर समझ लीजिए कि परमेश्वर का वचन स्पष्ट बताता है कि व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा नहीं, वरन, परमेश्वर के दिए हुए पश्चाताप और समर्पण करने के मार्ग का पालन करने के द्वारा ही आप परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी और उसे स्वीकार्य बन सकते हैं। अभी समय और अवसर रहते सही मार्ग अपना लें, और व्यर्थ तथा निष्फल मार्ग को छोड़ दें।   

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

The Law & Living the Christian Faith – 2

 

 

    In the previous article we had seen that the Lord Jesus has fulfilled and put away for us the requirements of the Law, i.e., the observance and fulfilling various sacrifices, feasts, festivals etc. We had also seen that the Lord had also categorically asked the Scribe who had raised the question of observing the Law, that he should continue to observe the meaning, or, the purpose of the Law, i.e., to come into and live in a right relationship with God and man. To understand this, we had seen from Colossians 2:13-17, specifically, verses 14 and 16. Similarly, now consider another related verse, Romans 10:4, "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." Even here, there is no contradiction. As we have seen in the previous articles, these things of the Law, which the Lord has accomplished and removed from us, were like our teacher, who taught us about sin, our accountability for sin, its consequences, and deliverance from sin through faith in the Savior alone and has handed over God's people to the promised “seed of Abraham,” Lord Jesus Christ, the promised Savior of the world. Now the work and role of that teacher has been completed. Whatever is beyond this is in and through the Lord Jesus, nothing else. That is why in order to make man righteous, "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness"; That is, now those things of the Law, which have been done away with by Christ, no longer have any role, they have come to an end. The righteousness that exists now is the righteousness of faith in Christ Jesus, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).

    But the completion and taking away of these requirements of the Law, has not taken away the necessity of observing the Law by every person, in its correct definition and understanding; i.e., to be reconciled with God and be restored in fellowship with Him, every person has to personally repent of their sins, ask the Lord Jesus to forgive sins, and surrender his life to the Lord Jesus, and then continually live in that relationship; this application of the Law has been even more firmly established and confirmed “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). In order to continually maintain and develop this peace and reconciliation with God, we no longer need to follow any "requirements of the Law" but to walk in obedience and submission to the Lord Jesus "and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again" (2 Corinthians 5:15).

That's why there is just as much need for Christians today to follow the "Law" in its true definition and meaning, and it has an as important role in the life of Christian faith as it had earlier. The Word of God, His words never alter or change; God never changes, and his Word never changes “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob" (Malachi 3:6); “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides" (Psalm 119:89-90).

    From the next article we will start a new series. If you are a Christian, and consider yourself righteous and acceptable to God by observance of any kind of “law”—whether of God, or of your religion, creed, community, or denomination—and by the actions of your flesh; then, pay heed and understand that God's Word clearly states that you can become righteous and acceptable to God, not by keeping the requirements of the Law, but by following God's path of repentance and submission. Now, while you have the time and opportunity, take the right step, and leave the useless and fruitless path that you may have been walking upon till now.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
