    पिछले लेखों  में हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11 में दिए गए आत्मिक वरदानों को देखना आरंभ किया था। यहाँ दिए गए 9 विभिन्न वरदानों: “बुद्धि का बातें”; “ज्ञान की बातें”; “विश्वास”; “चंगा करने का वरदान”; “सामर्थ्य के काम करने की शक्ति”; “भविष्यवाणी करने की शक्ति”; “आत्माओं की परख”; “अनेक प्रकार की भाषा”; “भाषाओं का अर्थ बताना” में से अभी तक हम पहले सात के बारे में देख चुके हैं। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा के सभी वरदान किसी के निज प्रयोग अथवा लाभ के लिए नहीं हैं, वरन, सभी के लिए और मसीही विश्वासियों की मण्डली की उन्नति और लाभ के लिए हैं। जिसे भी उसकी सेवकाई के लिए जो भी वरदान परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रदान किया है, उसे वह वरदान पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, सभी मसीही विश्वासियों के लाभ के लिए प्रयोग करना है, अपने लिए नहीं। आज हम इस सूची के शेष दो वरदानों के बारे में कुछ विवरण देखेंगे:   

• “अनेक प्रकार की भाषा”: प्रेरितों 2:4-11 से यह प्रकट है कि जिन “अन्य भाषाओं” का उल्लेख किया गया है वे पृथ्वी की ही, और विभिन्न भौगोलिक क्षेत्रों के लोगों द्वारा बोली जाने वाली भाषाएं थीं; न कि अलौकिक या पृथ्वी के बाहर की भाषाएं, जैसा पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से गलत शिक्षाएं देने वाले दावा करते हैं। यह बात 1 कुरिन्थियों 14 अध्याय के अध्ययन से और अधिक स्पष्ट एवं दृढ़ हो जाती है। उस समय प्रभु के शिष्यों और प्रेरितों को तुरंत ही संसार भर में जाकर सुसमाचार बताने की आवश्यकता थी; किन्तु प्रभु के सभी अनुयायी इस्राएल से थे, स्थानीय भाषा बोलने वाले थे, और अधिकांशतः तो बहुत कम शिक्षा पाए हुए या अनपढ़ भी थे। इस बात का सुसमाचार प्रचार में बाधा बनने के समाधान के लिए पवित्र आत्मा ने उन शिष्यों को बिना पहले किसी अन्य क्षेत्र की स्थानीय भाषा को सीखे, अनेकों प्रकार की भाषाएं बोलने का वरदान भी दे दिया, जिससे वे जहाँ पर भी जाएँ, वहाँ की भाषा के अनुसार उन इलाकों में जाकर प्रचार कर सकें। यह उस समय की तात्कालिक आवश्यकता थी, जिसका समाधान परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रदान किया, और यह 1 कुरिन्थियों 14 अध्याय में और स्पष्ट भी हो जाता है। साथ ही पवित्र आत्मा ने यह भी लिखवा दिया कि यह वरदान स्थाई नहीं है, वरन एक समय पर समाप्त हो जाएगा क्योंकि तब इसकी आवश्यकता नहीं रहेगी (1 कुरिन्थियों 13:8), क्योंकि हर स्थान पर हर भाषा में सुसमाचार देने वाले लोग खड़े हो जाएंगे। किन्तु इस वरदान की गलत समझ, व्याख्या, और शिक्षाओं के द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से गलत शिक्षाएं देने वालों ने बहुतेरों को बहका रखा है, भ्रम में डाल रखा है। साथ ही, बाइबल की शिक्षाओं और निर्देशों के विपरीत, जो लोग “अन्य-भाषा” के बारे में ये गलत शिक्षाएँ देते हैं, वे इस वरदान को व्यक्तिगत उपयोग तथा स्वयं की महिमा के लिए चाहते हैं, परमेश्वर के साथ “व्यक्तिगत वार्तालाप” करने के लिए, जबकि उनको यह पता भी नहीं होता है कि उनके मुँह से निकलने वाली विचित्र आवाजों का अर्थ क्या था। वे नहीं जानते हैं कि उन्होंने जो तथाकथित “परमेश्वर से वार्तालाप” किया है, उसमें क्या कहा और सुना गया, वह किस बारे में था, क्या निर्देश मिले, क्या सुधारने के लिए कहा गया। साथ ही वे एक ही विचित्र आवाज़ को हर समय, हर अवसर पर, हर बात के लिये बारम्बार दोहराते रहते हैं, मानों एक ही विचित्र आवाज़ में अलग-अलग समय, अवसर, और बात के लिये अलग-अलग अर्थ निहित हैं - जो किसी भी भाषा से किसी भी प्रकार से सुसंगत नहीं है।  

प्रत्येक अन्य आत्मिक वरदान के समान, अन्य भाषा बोलने का वरदान भी सभी की भलाई, सभी की उपयोगिता, और मण्डली की उन्नति के लिए है; किसी के द्वारा व्यक्तिगत प्रयोग या अपने आप को विशेष सामर्थ्य पाया हुआ दिखाने के लिए नहीं। इसलिए इस वरदान के आधार पर कोई भी अपने आप को विशिष्ट या असाधारण, परमेश्वर द्वारा विशेष रीति से आशीष पाया हुआ नहीं कह या दिखा सकता है। ऐसा कहना या जताना, इस वरदान का दुरुपयोग करना है, तथा परमेश्वर के वचन की अनुचित व्याख्या के द्वारा उसका भी दुरुपयोग करना है। इसे व्यक्तिगत उपयोग के लिए बताना या प्रयोग करना, वचन के अनुसार नहीं है, और वास्तविकता तो यह है कि आज जो इस वरदान को इतना महत्व देते हैं, वे कोई भाषा नहीं बोल रहे होते हैं, वे एक उन्माद की दशा में केवल मुँह से कुछ निरर्थक आवाज़ें निकाल और दोहरा रहे होते हैं। क्योंकि वे जो बोल रहे होते हैं उसे न तो वे स्वयं और न ही कोई अन्य समझने पाता है, और स्वयं को जायज़ ठहराने के लिए वे इसे “अलौकिक भाषा” में बात करना कह देते हैं, और अपने दावे की पुष्टि के लिये परमेश्वर के वचन को तोड़-मरोड़ कर प्रस्तुत करते हैं। 

• “भाषाओं का अर्थ बताना”: जिस प्रकार संसार के सभी स्थानों में जाकर वहाँ की भाषा में सुसमाचार प्रचार करने वालों की आवश्यकता थी, उसी प्रकार से मण्डलियों में ऐसे लोगों की भी आवश्यकता थी जो दु-भाषिये का कार्य कर सकें। अर्थात यदि बाहर से कोई भिन्न भाषा बोलने वाला प्रचारक किसी मण्डली में आए, तो उसकी बात को स्थानीय भाषा में अनुवाद कर के स्थानीय लोगों को लाभान्वित कर सकें। इसीलिए पवित्र आत्मा ने लिखवाया है कि प्रचारक को किसी नए स्थान पर जाने के बाद पहले यह पता कर लेना चाहिए कि उसकी बात का स्थानीय भाषा में अनुवाद करने वाला कोई है कि नहीं; यदि नहीं है तो फिर उसे शांत रहना चाहिए, नाहक प्रचार नहीं करना चाहिए (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:27-28)। इस वरदान का दिया जाना, इससे सम्बन्धित निर्देशों का परमेश्वर के वचन में स्पष्ट लिखवाया जाना, और मण्डली में इसका विद्यमान होना, ये सभी बातें एक बार फिर पुष्टि करती हैं कि बाइबल में उल्लेखित “अन्य भाषाएं” पृथ्वी की ही भाषाएं थीं, कोई अलौकिक भाषाएं नहीं। 

    1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11 में दिए गए 9 आत्मिक वरदानों को देखने के बाद, अगले लेख से हम अपना ध्यान रोमियों 12 अध्याय पर केंद्रित करेंगे, और विश्वासी के पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों को उपयोग करने का भण्डारी होने के बारे में सीखना आरम्भ करेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। सच्चे मन से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit – 4

 

    Since the previous articles we have been seeing about the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. Of the 9 different gifts, i.e., “word of wisdom,” “word of knowledge,” “faith,” “healing,” “miracles,” “prophecy,” “discerning of spirits,” “different kinds of tongues,” and “interpretation of tongues”, we have seen about the first 7. We had also seen that none of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for any person’s personal use or benefit; rather, all the gifts are meant for the help and benefit of everyone in the Church. Whichever gift anyone has received for their God assigned work and ministry, he has to use that gift under the guidance of God the Holy Spirit, for the benefit of the Christian Believers, not for himself alone. Today we will see about the remaining two gifts in this list:

• “Different kinds of tongues”: From Acts 2:4-11 it is apparent that the “tongues” or other languages that had been spoken of were known, recognized, named, and spoken earthly languages of different geographical regions. They were not any “out of the world” or “heavenly” languages, as those who preach and teach wrong things in the name of the Holy Spirit claim. This becomes all the more clear and more established from studying 1 Corinthians 14. At that time, the disciples of the Lord Jesus had to spread out into the world and preach the gospel to all people; but the disciples were all from Israel, spoke their local language, and most of them were either poorly educated or uneducated. So that this does not become a limiting factor in the preaching and spread of the Gospel, therefore, the Holy Spirit gave the then disciples the remedy to the situation - the miraculous ability to speak in the languages of other places without having to wait to learn them, so that they could immediately go to various geographical areas and preach the gospel unhindered by language, in the local language. This was an immediate need of the situation, and it was taken care of by the Holy Spirit, and this becomes clear in 1 Corinthians 14. Moreover, God the Holy Spirit also had it written down that this gift was not for all times, but after some time it will be taken away because by that time it will no longer be needed (1 Corinthians 13:8), since at every place, in every language people would come up who can preach the gospel in the local language. But, by misinterpreting the teachings about this gift and misusing this gift itself, those who preach wrong doctrines and teach false teachings have created a lot of confusion and have beguiled and led astray many people. Moreover, contrary to Biblical instructions and teachings, those who give these wrong teachings about “tongues,” seek this gift for personal use and self-glorification, for their “personal communications” with God; whereas, actually they themselves have no idea of the meaning of what they have uttered from their mouths. They do not know what they allegedly have “communicated with God” about, what was said and heard in that “conversation,” what instructions were given to them and what were they asked to correct and improve upon. Moreover, they keep uttering the same gibberish over and over again, at all times, on every occasion, for everything; as if in the same gibberish that they always utter, things necessary to speak for their current time and occasion are automatically implied - which is absolutely inconsistent with the norms of any language.

Like every other spiritual gift, the gift of being able to speak in other languages is also for the growth and benefit of the Church and other Christian Believers, and not for the use and benefit of any person. Therefore, no one can claim to be someone extra-special or extra-ordinary, specially blessed by God because of having this gift. Doing so is a misuse of this gift and God’s Word; it is misinterpreting and misusing God’s Word. Claiming that this gift is for personal use and is to be used in that manner, is inconsistent with God’s Word. The reality is that those who do this, actually do not speak any language, but just repetitively utter a few unintelligible sounds in an ecstatic state. Since what they are saying is neither understood by them nor by anyone else, and to justify themselves they claim that they are speaking some “heavenly” language, and distort God’s Word to substantiate their claim.

• “Interpretation of tongues”: At that time, just as it was required that there be people who will be able to go to various places and preach the gospel in the local language there, similarly it was required in the Church that there be bi-lingual or multi-lingual people, who would be able to translate for someone coming from outside, from another language speaking area, so that if an outside preacher comes, then the local people can benefit from what he has to say. It is for this reason that the Holy Spirit had it written down that if a preacher goes to a new area, he should first find out if there is someone who can translate for him into the local language; if there is nobody, then he should stay silent instead of unnecessarily preaching when no one can understand what he is saying (1 Corinthians 14:27-28). That this gift was given, clear instructions related to the use of this gift were recorded in God’s Word, and the presence of this gift in the Assemblies of God’s children, all this once again affirms that the “tongues” mentioned in the Bible were earthly, not extra-terrestrial languages.

    Having considered the 9 gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, from the next article, we will shift our focus to Romans 12, and start learning about the Believer’s being stewards of utilizing their spiritual gifts.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमें देखा था कि बाइबल अपनी हर बात में कि किस प्रकार पूर्णतः सत्यवादी और स्पष्टवादी है। वह किसी की बुराई अथवा गलती को न तो छिपाती है, न उचित ठहराने का प्रयास करती है, और न ही उसकी अनदेखी करती है। वरन् उन गलतियों के प्रति परमेश्वर के दृष्टिकोण एवं न्याय को स्पष्ट दिखाती है, गलती करने वाला चाहे कोई भी क्यों न हो। साथ ही हमें यह भी देखा था कि किस प्रकार से बाइबल की पुस्तकों के लिखे जाने के इतिहास तथा उनके संकलित करके एक ऐसी पुस्तक बनाए जाने, जिसकी पुस्तकों में पूर्ण सामंजस्य है और परपसर कोई विरोधाभास नहीं है, के सदियों बाद हुई पुरातत्व खोजों के आधार पर इस गलत धारणा का कोई आधार अथवा प्रमाण नहीं है कि उन पुस्तकों को संकलित करते समय, संपादित करके उन्हें सुसंगत बना दिया गया होगा, उनमें सामंजस्य बैठा दिया गया होगा, क्योंकि संकलित किए जाने से पहले के और बाद के लेखों में कोई भिन्नता नहीं है। और ये सभी बातें बाइबल  को संसार की सभी पुस्तकों और ग्रन्थों से बिलकुल भिन्न और अलग स्तर का बनाती हैं, उसके परमेश्वर का दिया हुआ होने का समर्थन करती हैं। आज हम बाइबल से सम्बन्धित एक अन्य अनुपम तथ्य पर विचार करेंगे, जो उसके अनुवाद, प्रकाशन, और वितरण से सम्बन्धित है। 

प्रसार: किसी पुस्तक के बारे में यह सुनना कोई असामान्य बात नहीं है कि उसकी कुछ हज़ार या दसियों हज़ार प्रतियां बिक गई हैं, और वह सर्वाधिक बिकने वाली पुस्तकों के सूची में सम्मिलित हो गई है। ऐसी पुस्तकों की संख्या बहुत कम है जिनकी लाखों या दसियों लाख प्रतियों की बिक्री हुई है; ऐसी पुस्तकें तो और भी कम हैं जिनकी बिक्री या वितरित हुई प्रतियों की संख्या करोड़ या करोड़ों में हो। ऐसे में यह भौंचक्का कर देने वाली बात है कि संसार के इतिहास में बाइबल ही एकमात्र ऐसी पुस्तक है जिसकी संसार भर में विभिन्न भाषाओं में बिक्री अथवा वितरित हुई प्रतियों की संख्या अरबों में है। छपाई के इतिहास के आरंभ होने से लेकर आज तक, बाइबल ही एकमात्र ऐसी पुस्तक है जो लगातार, बिना कभी भी किसी अन्य पुस्तक को अपना स्थान दिए, संसार की सर्वाधिक बिकने तथा वितरित होने वाली पुस्तक रही है। 

संसार भर में बाइबल को प्रकाशित करने वाली अनेकों संस्थाएं हैं; हर देश में बाइबल को प्रकाशित करने वाली अपनी संस्थाएं हैं;  इन संस्थाओं में से the United Bible Societies (UBS),  तथा Wycliffe / ProgressBible सबसे प्रमुख अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रकाशकों तथा वितरण करने वालों में से शीर्ष पर हैं।  Wycliffe / ProgressBible के अनुसार:

• संसार भर में 7,396 ज्ञात सक्रीय भाषाएं हैं जो बोली अथवा लिखी या सांकेतिक रीति से प्रयोग की जाती हैं। 

• इन भाषाओं के माध्यम से लगभग 620 करोड़ (6.2 अरब) लोगों को अपनी भाषा में पूर्ण बाइबल उपलब्ध है; 88.1 करोड़ लोगों को नया नियम उपलब्ध है; और 50.9 करोड़ लोगों को अंश (कहानियाँ, चयनित पद आदि) उपलब्ध हैं।

• यूनाइटेड बाइबल सोसाइटीज़ (UBS) के अनुसार, वर्ष 2023 में विश्व-भर में कुल 15.2 करोड़ पवित्रशास्त्र इकाइयाँ वितरित की गईं; उनका विवरण इस प्रकार है:

• 2.42 करोड़ पूर्ण बाइबलें

• 92 लाख (0.92 करोड़) नया नियम

• 11.86 करोड़ अंश / चयनित भाग (छोटे हिस्से) 

• 2024 में पहली बार डिजिटल वितरण ने प्रिंट से अधिक स्थान प्राप्त किया: UBS के अनुसार 2.59 करोड़ डिजिटल पवित्रशास्त्र वितरित हुए, जबकि 2.25 करोड़ छपी हुई प्रतियाँ वितरित हुईं — यह पवित्रशास्त्र के उपभोग और वितरण में एक बड़े परिवर्तन को दर्शाता है। आने वाले दिनों में डिजिटल माध्यम और AI परमेश्वर के वचन को लोगों तक पहुँचाने तथा उसे विश्व के प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के लिए आसानी से उपलब्ध कराने में अत्यंत सहायक होने की अपेक्षा है।

• Wycliffe / ProgressBible के अनुसार (अगस्त 2025 तक), केवल 544 भाषाएँ—जिन में कुल लगभग 3.68 करोड़ लोग हैं—अब भी किसी भी प्रकार की बाइबल (पूर्ण या आंशिक) की प्रतीक्षा कर रही हैं। यह वर्तमान विश्व जनसंख्या 8.25 अरब (825 करोड़) का लगभग 0.445%— अर्थात, आधे प्रतिशत से भी कम जन सँख्या है। परमेश्वर के वचन को प्रत्येक अप्राप्य भाषा और समुदाय तक पहुँचाने, या कम से कम उसके किसी अंश को उपलब्ध कराने के लिए कार्य जारी है।

अर्थात, संसार के इतिहास में अन्य कोई भी पुस्तक नहीं है जो बाइबल के प्रकाशन अथवा वितरण के आँकड़ों के कहीं निकट भी आती है। यदि बाइबल और उसके भागों की संसार भर में इतनी माँग न होती, तो यह कार्य कैसे संभव होता; वह भी सारे संसार में, और छपाई के आरंभ से लेकर आज दिन तक, निरंतर? संसार भर में बाइबल, या बाइबल के भाग, या बाइबल के अंश ही सर्वाधिक पढ़े जाने वाले लेख हैं। विचार करने वाली बात है, बाइबल और उसके संदेश में कुछ तो विलक्षण तथा अनुपम होगा, कि उनकी इतनी माँग संसार भर में बनी हुई है।

अनुवाद: जैसे प्रभावशाली और विस्मित करने वाले बाइबल के प्रकाशन और वितरण के आँकड़े हैं, उसी के समान प्रभावशाली और विस्मित करने वाले बाइबल के अनुवादों से संबंधित आँकड़े भी हैं।

   संसार भर में छपने वाली अधिकांश पुस्तकें अपनी मूल भाषा के अतिरिक्त किसी अन्य भाषा में अनुवाद ही नहीं होती हैं। जो अनुवाद भी होती हैं, वो अधिकांशतः दो या तीन भाषाओं में अनुवाद होती हैं। बहुत ही कम पुस्तकें हैं जो अपनी संपूर्णता या भागों में भी 10 से लेकर 20 विभिन्न भाषाओं में अनुवाद हुई हैं। आज संसार की ज्ञात भाषाओं और बोलियों में से अधिकांश भाषाओं या बोलियों में बाइबल, या बाइबल का कोई भाग, अथवा अंश अनुवाद किया जा चुका है, और उसे प्रसारित किया गया है – छापे हुए स्वरूप में, अथवा औडियो रिकॉर्डिंग के रूप में; उन भाषाओं में भी जो केवल मौखिक हैं, जिनके लिखने के लिए कोई वर्णमाला तथा अक्षर नहीं हैं। जिन भाषाओं में केवल बाइबल के अंश हैं, उनमें बाइबल के भागों का अनुवाद ज़ारी है; और जिनमें अंश तथा भाग उपलब्ध हैं, उनमें सम्पूर्ण बाइबल का अनुवाद होना ज़ारी है। जैसे जैसे माँग बढ़ती जाती है, कार्य भी बढ़ता जाता है, और उपलब्ध हो जाने वाले अंश अथवा भाग या बाइबल वितरण के लिए उपयोग होते जाते हैं, वितरित होने लगते हैं। यदि यह कार्य औडियो रिकॉर्डिंग के रूप में है, तो उसे उसी स्वरूप में विभिन्न माध्यमों के द्वारा वितरित किया जाता है। कठिन प्रयासों और बाधाओं के बावजूद, संसार के सभी भू-भाग के लोगों के पास परमेश्वर का वचन, उनकी अपनी भाषा अथवा बोली में, उपलब्ध करवाया जा रहा है। अनेकों संस्थाएं संसार भर में इस कार्य में लगी हुई हैं; कुछ स्थानीय है, कुछ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हैं; किन्तु सभी का यही प्रयास है कि संसार का कोई भू-भाग, कोई भाषा या बोली का समुदाय, उनकी अपनी भाषा में परमेश्वर के वचन से वंचित न रह जाए।

अब यह बाइबल के आलोचकों और विरोधियों के लिए विचार करने और उत्तर ढूँढने की बात है कि बाइबल और उसके संदेश में आखिर ऐसा क्या है जो सारे संसार के सभी इलाकों में लोगों को प्रेरित कर रहा है कि अनेकों बाधाओं, विरोध, और समस्याओं का सामना करते हुए भी, बाइबल में विश्वास करने वाले, उसे संसार के हर व्यक्ति, हर समुदाय तक पहुंचाने में लगे हुए हैं। संसार के इतिहास में क्या कोई अन्य ऐसा ग्रंथ अथवा पुस्तक है जिसका इतना व्यापक प्रसार एवं अनुवाद किया गया हो; हमेशा ही इतनी माँग बनी रही हो? बाइबल में कुछ तो होगा जो लोगों में उसके संदेश के लिए एक भूख, एक लालसा उत्पन्न कर रहा है; और जिनके पास बाइबल और उसका संदेश है, उन्हें किसी भी कीमत पर उस संदेश को सारे संसार के सभी लोगों तक पहुंचाने के लिए प्रेरित कर रहा है, और करवाता जा रहा है!

अगले लेख में हम एक और सम्बन्धित बात पर विचार करेंगे कि बाइबल कैसे, आज तक ज़ारी उसे नष्ट करने के सभी प्रयासों के बावजूद, न केवल बनी हुई है, वरन उसकी माँग निरंतर बढ़ती ही जा रही है। साथ ही इस तथ्य पर भी विचार कीजिये: प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने जगत के अंत और सभी लोगों के न्याय के लिए जो चिह्न दिए थे (मत्ती 24 अध्याय), वे सभी पूरे होते जा रहे हैं; आज के विषय से संबंधित एक महत्वपूर्ण चिह्न है: “और राज्य का यह सुसमाचार सारे जगत में प्रचार किया जाएगा, कि सब जातियों पर गवाही हो, तब अन्त आ जाएगा” (मत्ती 24:14)। अब आप स्वयं देख लीजिए कि जगत अपने अंत और न्याय के कितना निकट खड़ा है। क्या आप प्रभु को अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिये तैयार हैं? यदि नहीं, तो आप के लिये अभी समय और अवसर है कि यह निर्णय कर लें। 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Unique in its Circulation and Translations

In the previous article we had seen that the Bible is fully honest and forthright about everything given in it. It neither glosses over, nor hides, nor tries to justify the errors and wrongdoings of anyone. Rather, it shows God’s point of view about those wrongdoings and clearly speaks of God’s judgement about them, whoever may be the one committing the wrong. We had also seen that in view of the history of how the books of Bible were written and then were compiled to form one book where every book was in perfect harmony with the others and there were no contradictions, the archeological discoveries of the ancient texts dating to before the compilation of the books shows that there is no basis or proof that while compiling the books may have been edited to create this harmony and absence of contradictions, since the texts have remained unchanged before and after the compilation. And these facts make the Bible an absolutely unique book, far different from any other book in the world, of an altogether different level and status, corroborating its claims of divine origin. Today, we will consider another unique fact related to the Bible, that is related to its translation, publication and distribution.

Circulation: It is not uncommon to hear of a book that has sold a few thousand or even tens of thousands of copies, and has entered the list of best-selling books. But there are very few books that have sold lakhs of copies; much fewer are the books, whose number of copies sold or distributed is a million or is in tens of millions. Therefore, it is astonishing that the Bible is the only book in the history of the world whose number of copies sold or distributed in different languages ​​across the world is in the billions. From the beginning of the history of printing to the present day, the Bible is the only book that, without ever giving this place to any other book, has consistently been ranked as the world's all-time best-selling, most read and distributed book.

There are many organizations publishing the Bible around the world. Every country has its own organizations that publishes the Bible;  Of these the United Bible Societies (UBS),  and the Wycliffe / ProgressBible are amongst the leading international publishers and ditributors.According to, Wycliffe / ProgressBible there are:

• There are 7,396 known living languages (including spoken, written, and used as sign languages) in the world.

• Through these languages, about 6.2 billion people have access to the whole Bible in their language; 881 million can access the New Testament; 509 million have access to portions (verse stories, etc.). 

• According to the United Bible Societies (UBS), in 2023, 152 million Scripture units were distributed globally; their break-up is as follows: 

• 24.2 million full Bibles 

• 9.2 million New Testaments 

• 118.6 million portions / selections (smaller parts)

• For the first time, digital distribution outstripped print in 2024: UBS reported 25.9 million digital Scriptures vs 22.5 million printed ones — shows a major shift in scripture consumption / distribution. Digital media and AI are expected to help tremendously in reaching the Word of God, and making it easily available to everyone in the world in the coming days. 

• According to Wycliffe / ProgressBible, the only 544 languages representing only about 36.8 million people of the world are still waiting for any kind of Bible (as of August 2025). The current world population is 8.25 Billion. Therefore, the unreached population represents about 0.445%, i.e., less than a half-percent of the current world population; and work is underway to reach every unreached language and ethnic group with God's Word, or, at least some portion of the Word.

Thus, there is no other book in the history of the world that comes anywhere even close to the statistics of the publication or distribution of the Bible. How would this work be possible if the Bible and its parts have not continuously remained in demand, all the time, and all over the world, from the beginning of printing of books to the present day? The Bible, or parts of the Bible, or passages of the Bible, are the most widely read writings in the world. It is worth considering, that there must be something extraordinary and unique in the Bible and its message, that they remain in such demand around the world, all the time.    

    Translations: Just as the statistics on the publication and distribution of the Bible are impressive and astounding, similarly the statistics on translations of the Bible are as impressive and astonishing too.

    Most of the books published around the world are usually not translated into any language other than their original language. If the translations do happen, they are mostly in two or three languages. There are very few books which have been translated in their entirety or even in their parts into 10 to 20 different languages. The Bible, in whole, or in part, has been translated, and circulated – in print, or as an audio recording, in most of the world's known languages ​​and dialects today; Even into those languages ​​which are only spoken, and have no alphabets and words to write. The remaining parts of the Bible continue to be translated into languages ​​that presently have only Bible portions; And translations of the entire Bible continue to be made available in one form or the other, where earlier only portions have been available. As demand increases, so does the work, and portions or the Bibles that become available for distribution, begin to be distributed. If the translation is in the form of an audio recording, it is distributed in the same format through a variety of media. Despite hard opposition and difficult obstacles, the Word of God is being made available to people in all parts of the world, in their own language or dialect. Many organizations are engaged in this work around the world; Some are local, some are international; But it is the endeavor of all that no part of the world, no language or community of dialects should be deprived of the availability of the Word of God in their own language.

Now it is a matter for critics and opponents of the Bible to ponder and find answers as to what is in the Bible and its message that is inspiring people in all regions of the world to face many obstacles, oppositions, and problems, but get hold of it in one form or the other. Why are Believers in the Bible engaged in trying to make it available to every person, every community in the world, even at the cost of their security and lives? Is there any other book, religious or secular, that in the history of the world has been so widely circulated and translated; has always been so much in demand? There must be something in the Bible that is creating a hunger, a longing in the people for its message; And is inspiring those who have the Bible and its message, to spread that message to all the people of the whole world at any cost!

In the next article we will consider how the Bible is unique in surviving all attempts that have been made and are still being made to destroy it; yet not only has it remained in circulation, but its demand is continually increasing. Also, please ponder over this fact: The signs given by the Lord Jesus Christ for the end of the world and the judgment of all people (Matthew 24), are all being fulfilled before our eyes. Amongst these signs, there is an important sign related to today's heading: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). Now see for yourself how close the world stands to its end and justice. Are you ready to give the account of your life to the Lord? If not, then now is the time and opportunity for you to make this decision.  

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

जैसे पिछले लेख में कहा गया था, बाइबल और विज्ञान (जो कि विभिन्न तरीकों से सृजी गई वस्तुओं की रचना और कार्य विधियों का अध्ययन ही है), में परस्पर विरोधाभास में नहीं हैं। हमने यह भी देखा था कि संसार के प्रमुख वैज्ञानिकों में से कई, बाबल पर विश्वास रखने वाले प्रतिबद्ध मसीही विश्वासी थे; तथा बाइबल से प्रेरणा पाकर संसार की बहुत महत्वपूर्ण खोज हुई हैं। साथ ही, बाइबल को गलत प्रमाणित करने निकले अविश्वासियों में से कुछ लोग, उनकी खोज के परिणामों के बाइबल ही के पक्ष में के होने कारण, मसीही विश्वासी तथा बाइबल के दावों की दृढ़ता से पुष्टि करने वाले बन गये।

पीछे के लेख में हमें बताया था कि बाइबल कुल 66 भिन्न पुस्तकों का संकलन है, जो भिन्न समयों पर, भिन्न लोगों द्वारा लिखी गई थीं। इन पुस्तक के लेखक न तो यह जानते थे कि किसी अन्य ने क्या, कब और क्यों लिखा। और न ही वे यह जानते थे कि एक दिन उनकी लिखी हुई बातों को मिला कर एक पुस्तक बना दिया जाएगा। वे तो परमेश्वर की अगुवाई में, अपने समय के कुछ लोगों को पमरीश्वर के सन्देश लिख रहे थे। किन्तु जब उन्हें एकत्रित करके साथ रखा गया तो बड़ी अद्भुत रीति से वे सभी पुस्तकें मिलकर एक पूर्ण पुस्तक बन गईं। इस एकीकृत की गई पुस्तक के सभी भाग एक-दूसरे के पूरक हैं, उनमें परस्पर कोई विरोधाभास नहीं है, सभी पुस्तकें एक-दूसरे के लेखों को समर्थित करती हैं, और सभी पुस्तकों की परस्पर सहायता से ही बाइबल की बातों को भली-भांति और ठीक से समझा जा सकता है। 

यह तब और भी अद्भुत तथा विलक्षण हो जाता है जब बाइबल के लिखे जाने और लेखकों के बारे में थोड़ा विवरण देखते हैं:

• बाइबल की पुस्तकें लगभग 1500 वर्ष से अधिक के अंतराल में लिखी गईं, और फिर भी पूर्णतः सामंजस्य में हैं। 

• बाइबल की पुस्तकों के 40 से अधिक लेखक थे, जो समय, भौगोलिक स्थान, भाषा, कार्य तथा व्यवसाय, शैक्षिक स्तर, सामाजिक ओहदे, आदि में भिन्न थे। इन विभिन्न लेखकों में से कुछ के उदाहरण देखते हैं:

• मूसा – एक राजनीतिक अगुवा था, जिसका पालन-पोषण, शिक्षा, प्रशिक्षण मिस्र के राजसी घराने में एक राजकुमार के समान हुआ था। 

• यहोशू – पहले एक दास, और फिर इस्राएल की सेना का एक सेनापति था। 

• दाऊद – एक चरवाहा युवक था, जो राजा की सेना में सम्मिलित किया गया, उन्नति करते हुए शूरवीर पराक्रमी योद्धा, और फिर इस्राएल का राजा बना। वह एक कवि, और संगीतज्ञ भी था जिसने न केवल स्तुति के भजन लिखे और संगीत-बद्ध किए, वरन कई संगीत वाद्य भी बनाए। 

• सुलैमान – राजा तथा परमेश्वर की कृपादृष्टि पाया हुआ दार्शनिक, बुद्धिजीवी, और लेखक था। 

• नहेम्याह – एक गैर-यहूदी राजा का सेवक था, जिसका कार्य पहले स्वयं चख-परखकर फिर राजा के पीने के लिए उसे पेय का कटोरा पकड़ाना था। 

• एज्रा – एक धर्म-शास्त्री और पवित्र शास्त्र का विद्वान था।  

• दानिय्येल – एक यहूदी गुलाम युवक, जो बेबीलोन के राजा का सर्वोच्च सलाहकार एवं मंत्री बना। 

• आमोस – एक चरवाहा था। 

• लूका – एक वैद्य और लेखक था। 

• मत्ती – एक चुंगी लेने वाला सरकारी नौकर था। 

• पौलुस – एक धर्म-शास्त्र का विद्वान और धार्मिक अगुवा था। 

• यूहन्ना और पतरस – अनपढ़ साधारण मछुआरे थे। 

• मरकुस – पतरस के लिए लिखने वाले एक सामान्य युवक था। 

• बाइबल की पुस्तकें विभिन्न स्थानों और परिस्थितियों में लिखे गईं:

• मूसा ने जंगल की यात्रा के दौरान लिखीं 

• यिर्मयाह ने कैदखाने की काल-कोठरी में पड़े हुए लिखी 

• दानिय्येल ने राजमहल में लिखी 

• पौलुस ने बंदीगृह में पड़े हुए या अपनी यात्राओं के दौरान लिखीं 

• लूका ने मसीही सेवकाई की यात्रा करते हुए लिखी

• यूहन्ना ने अपनी सेवकाई के दौरान, था पतमोस के टापू पर काला-पानी की सजा भोगते हुए भी लिखी

• दाऊद ने कुछ युद्ध के समय में लिखी, तो कुछ अन्य अपने जीवन की भिन्न-भिन्न परिस्थितियों में लिखीं।  

• सुलैमान ने शांति और संपन्नता के समय में लिखी 

• बाइबल की पुस्तकें विभिन्न मनोदशाओं में लिखी गईं:

• कुछ ने परम-आनंद के भाव में उत्साह के साथ लिखीं 

• कुछ ने घोर निराशा, दुख, और हताश के समयों में अपनी भावनाएं व्यक्त कीं 

• कुछ ने विश्वास की दृढ़ता में निश्चितता के साथ लिखीं 

• कुछ ने संदेह और असमंजस से जूझते हुए लिखा 

• बाइबल की पुस्तकें तीन भिन्न महाद्वीपों और उनकी संस्कृतियों तथा सामाजिक विचारधाराओं में लिखी गईं। ये तीन महाद्वीप हैं:

• एशिया 

• अफ्रीका 

• यूरोप 

• बाइबल की पुस्तकें तीन भिन्न भाषाओं में लिखी गईं:

• इब्री या इब्रानी भाषा – जो यहूदियों की, तथा लगभग सम्पूर्ण पुराने नियम के लिखे जाने की भाषा है। 

• अरामी – जो निकट-पूर्व के देशों – वर्तमान इस्राएल तथा उसके आस-पास के देशों के क्षेत्रों की आम लोगों की; राजा सिकंदर के छठी शताब्दी ईसा-पूर्व में यूनान से संसार के विजय अभियान पर निकलने से पहले की भाषा हुआ करती थी। पुराने नियम के कुछ भाग, जैसे के दानिय्येल के 2 से 7 अध्याय और एज्रा का अधिकांश 4 अध्याय से लेकर 7 अध्याय तक अरामी भाषा में हैं। 

• यूनानी – यह लगभग सम्पूर्ण नए नियम के लिखे जाने की भाषा है, और प्रभु यीशु मसीह की पृथ्वी के समय की सेवकाई के समय की यह अंतर्राष्ट्रीय भाषा तथा जन-सामान्य की भाषा थी।

Bible - Unique in its Writings and Writers (1)

As stated in the preceding article, the Bible and science (which is the study of the construction and functioning of the various created things), are not mutually contradictory. We also saw that some of the greatest scientists of the world have been devout Bible believing Christians; and the Bible has inspired some great scientific discoveries, and in trying to prove the Bible wrong, some opponents of the Bible, through the evidence they themselves uncovered which was fully in favor of the Bible, became Christian Believers and great supporters of the truth of the Bible. 

In earlier articles, we had mentioned that the Bible is a compilation of 66 different books, written by different people, at different times. The authors of these books never knew that someone else was also writing something, nor its why and when. Nor did they know that one day all these books will be combined together as one book. They were only writing some messages given to them by God, addressed to some of their contemporary people. But on being collected and compiled together, all those books marvelously fit together as one unit and became a single complete book. All the parts of this compiled book complement each other, all the books support each other’s contents, and all the books supplement each other's writings; there is no contradiction in them. It is only by taking the help of what is written in the other books, that the writings of the Bible can be better and properly understood. 

It becomes even more wonderful and unique when we look at a little detail about the writing and authors of the Bible:

• The books of the Bible were written over a span of more than 1500 years, and yet are in full mutual harmony.

• There were over 40 authors of Bible books, spread over different times, differing in geographic locations, languages, work and occupations, educational levels, social status, etc. Let's see some examples of some of these different authors:

• Moses – was a political leader, who was raised, educated, trained as a prince in the royal family of Egypt.

• Joshua – Initially was a slave and later became a Military General of the Israelite army.

• David – Initially was a young shepherd who joined the king's army, rose to become a mighty warrior, and eventually became the King of Israel. He was also a poet, and musician who not only wrote and composed hymns of praise of God, but also made many musical instruments.

• Solomon - was a Prince who had received the blessings and visions of God; and was a philosopher, intellectual, and writer.

• Nehemiah – was a servant of a Gentile King, whose job was to first taste himself and then to hand the drink bowl to the King to drink.

• Ezra – was a theologian and scholar of the Holy Scriptures.

• Daniel – A Jewish slave youth, who became the supreme adviser and minister to the Babylonian king.

• Amos – was a shepherd.

• Luke – was a physician and writer.

• Matthew – Was a tax collector, a government servant.

• Paul – was a theological scholar and religious leader.

• John and Peter – were illiterate and ordinary fishermen.

• Mark – was a common young man who wrote for Peter.

• The books of the Bible were written in different places and circumstances:

• Moses wrote during his journey in the wilderness

• Jeremiah wrote in the prison dungeon 

• Daniel wrote in the palace

• Paul wrote while in prison or during his travels 

• Luke wrote while traveling for the Christian ministry

• John wrote during his ministry and on the island of Patmos while serving the punishment of solitary confinement

• David wrote some during the times of war, some others in different circumstances of his life.

• Solomon wrote in a time of peace and prosperity

• The books of the Bible were written in different moods:

• Some wrote with enthusiasm in the spirit of ecstasy

• Some expressed their feelings in times of great despair, sadness, and depression

• Some wrote with certainty in the firmness of faith

• Some wrote struggling with doubts and confusion

• The books of the Bible were written on three different continents, in their entirely different cultures and social ideologies. These three continents are:

• Asia

• Africa

• Europe

• The books of the Bible were written in three different languages:

• Hebrew or Jewish language - which is the language of writings of the Jews, and of almost the whole of the Old Testament.

• Aramaic – which used to be the language of the common people of the Near-East countries – areas of present-day Israel and its surrounding countries; Before King Alexander set out on a conquest of the world from Greece in the 6th century BC. Parts of the Old Testament, such as chapters 2 to 7 of Daniel and most of Ezra from chapters 4 to chapter 7, are in Aramaic.

• Greek – This is the language of writing of almost all of the New Testament, and it was the language of international communications, and also the language of the general public during the time of the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the next article, on the basis of the above facts we will consider the conclusion of the matter. But for now, if you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
