परमेश्वर का वचन - बाइबल विषय पर, पिछले लेखों में हमने परिचय के रूप में बहुत संक्षेप में देखा था कि आम और लोकप्रिय धारणा के विपरीत, बाइबल न तो “पश्चिमी” सभ्यता का ग्रन्थ है, और नही बाइबल का उद्देश्य लोगों को “पश्चिमी” सभ्यता की मान्यताओं और जीवन-शैली में परिवर्तित करना है। बाइबल समस्त मानव जाति के लिये लिखा गया परमेश्वर का प्रेम पत्र है, जिसमें परमेश्वर ने अपने बारे में, अपने गुणों के बारे में, और उन की पापी दशा के बावजूद, उनके लिये उसके प्रेम के बारे में है; कैसे वह जी से चाहता है कि सभी मनुष्य उसके साथ मेल-मिलाप कर लें, ताकि वह उन्हें इस पृथ्वी पर भी, और इस पृथ्वी के बाद के जीवन में भी अनंतकाल के लिये आशीषित कर सके। बाइबल की रूपरेखा में हमने देखा बाइबल के भागों के बारे में देखा था, और यह कि यद्यपि बाइबल 66 पुस्तकों से मिलकर बनी है, जिन्हें एक बहुत लम्बे समय के दौरान, विभिन्न भाषाओं में, और विभिन्न लेखकों के द्वारा लिखा गया था, परन्तु फिर भी सम्पूर्ण बाइबल का एक ही मौलिक विषय हा - मनुष्यों का उद्धार तथा परमेश्वर से मेल-मिलाप; और इसका एक ही तथा केन्द्रीय व्यक्तित्व है - प्रभु यीशु मसीह - जगत का प्रतिज्ञा और भविष्यद्वाणी किया हुआ उद्धारकर्ता, जिसके चारों ओर बाइबल की हर बात लिखी गई है।
आज से हम बाइबल के विभिन्न अनोखे और चकित कर देने वाले गुणों के बारे में देखना आरम्भ करेंगे, ताकि समझ सकें कि क्यों बाइबल को “परमेश्वर का वचन” कहा जाता है।
बाइबल की सभी 66 पुस्तकों की सामग्री को, उसके लेखों के विषयों तथा बातों को पाँच मुख्य श्रेणियों में बाँटा जा सकता है। हर पुस्तक में हर श्रेणी से संबंधित कुछ लिखा हो, यह आवश्यक नहीं; किन्तु सभी पुस्तकों की बातों को इन पाँच श्रेणियों में से किसी एक में अवश्य रखा जा सकता है।
ये पाँच श्रेणियाँ हैं:
1. इतिहास – बाइबल की बातों और लोगों से संबंधित इतिहास; जैसे कि उत्पत्ति की पुस्तक के आरंभ में सृष्टि का इतिहास है। शमूएल, राजाओं, इतिहास की पुस्तकों में इस्राएल के राजाओं और उनके कार्यों का इतिहास है। नए नियम में प्रेरितों के काम में प्रथम मँडली के बनाए जाने और संसार भर में फैलने का इतिहास है।
2. व्यवस्था या नियम – परमेश्वर द्वारा अपने लोगों के मार्गदर्शन और पालन के लिए दिए गए नियम, पर्व, विधि-विधान आदि जो पुराने नियम की पहली पाँच पुस्तकों में दिए गए हैं।
3. जीवनियाँ – बाइबल के मुख्य पात्रों के जीवनों और कार्यों का वर्णन विभिन्न पुस्तकों में दिया गया है। प्रभु यीशु मसीह के जन्म, जीवन, कार्य, शिक्षा, मृत्यु, पुनरुत्थान, और स्वर्गारोहण नए नियम की पहली चार पुस्तकों में दिया गया है।
4. भविष्यवाणियाँ – सम्पूर्ण बाइबल में आरंभ से लेकर अंत तक, स्थान-स्थान पर परमेश्वर के कार्यों और उसके लोगों से संबंधित अनेकों भविष्यद्वाणियाँ दी गई हैं। उत्पत्ति की पुस्तक में ही, मनुष्य के पाप में गिरने के साथ ही, पाप के समाधान और निवारण के मार्ग की भविष्यवाणी परमेश्वर ने दे दी थी। नए नियम की अंतिम पुस्तक का अंत परमेश्वर के लोगों का अनन्तकाल तक परमेश्वर के साथ परम-आनंद में रहने की भविष्यवाणी के साथ होता है।
प्रभु यीशु मसीह के जन्म, जीवन, कार्य, मृत्यु, पुनरुत्थान आदि की सभी बातों की भविष्यवाणियाँ पुराने नियम में प्रभु से हजारों से लेकर सैकड़ों वर्ष पहले लिखी गई थीं, और वे सभी सटीक पूरी हुई हैं। आज तक कभी भी कोई भी बाइबल की भविष्यद्वाणियों को गलत अथवा झूठी प्रमाणित नहीं कर सका है। परमेश्वर ने जो कहा है, वो हुआ है, और जैसा कहा है, वैसा ही हुआ है, चाहे लिखे जाने के समय, या पूरा होने से पहले, पढ़ने और सुनने में वह असंभव ही क्यों न लगता हो।
पुराने नियम की पुस्तकों में कुछ विशिष्ट भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की पुस्तकें हैं, जो उनके लेखकों के नाम से जानी जाती हैं; जैसे कि यशायाह, यिर्मयाह, यहेजकेल, दानिय्येल, होशे, मलाकी, आदि। इन पुस्तकों में परमेश्वर ने अपने नबियों के द्वारा अपने लोगों को उनके पापों, परमेश्वर से भटक जाने, सांसारिकता में फँस जाने आदि के बारे में बताया, चेतावनियाँ दीं, और अनाज्ञाकारिता के परिणामों की चेतावनियाँ दीं, जो अपने समय पर पूरी भी हुईं; साथ ही भविष्य में होने वाली बातों के बारे में भी बताया, जो अपने समयानुसार पूरी भी हुईं, हो रही हैं, और जगत के अंत के समय पूरी होंगी। कुछ पुस्तकें, जैसे कि योना, नहूम, ओबद्याह नबियों की पुस्तकें, गैर-यहूदियों, या अन्यजातियों के विषय परमेश्वर की चेतावनियाँ और भविष्यवाणियाँ हैं।
5. शिक्षाएं – मनुष्य के पापों से पश्चाताप करने और उद्धार पाने, फिर परमेश्वर की इच्छानुसार जीवन बिताने, परमेश्वर के बारे में सीखने, परमेश्वर को क्या पसंद है और किस से वह अप्रसन्न होता है, अपने लोगों से वह क्या चाहता है, उन्हें अपने आप को उसके स्वर्गीय राज्य के लिए किस प्रकार तैयार करना और रखना है, आदि सभी बातें बाइबल की सभी पुस्तकों में विभिन्न संदर्भों, उदाहरणों, पात्रों के जीवनों और कार्यों, नैतिक शिक्षाओं, आदि के द्वारा दी गई हैं।
बाइबल की पुस्तकों की उपरोक्त सभी सामग्री सामान्य लेखों, कविताओं, परमेश्वर की स्तुति और आराधना के भजनों, नैतिक शिक्षाओं के लघु कथनों आदि के रूप में है। आज हम बाइबल की पुस्तकों को अध्यायों और पदों या आयतों में विभाजित देखते हैं। उनके मूल स्वरूप और लेखों में अध्यायों और पदों का यह विभाजन नहीं था। इसीलिए नए नियम में जहाँ पर भी पुराने नियम की पुस्तकों को उद्धत किया गया है, उनके हवाले से कोई बात कही गई है, तो हम कभी भी पुस्तक के लेखक के नाम के अतिरिक्त, किसी अध्याय या पद की संख्या को नहीं पाते हैं। आज हम जो बाइबल की पुस्तकों का अध्यायों और पदों में विभाजन देखते हैं, वह किसी भी वाक्य अथवा कथन तक सरलता से पहुँचने, या उसे दूसरों को बताने के लिए सरल करने के उद्देश्य से किया गया था। आज जिस विभाजन को सामान्यतः स्वीकार किया और जिसका पालन किया जाता है, वह इंग्लैंड में कैन्टरबरी के आरचबिशप स्टीफन लैंगटन की विभाजन पद्धति के अनुसार है। बिशप लैंगटन ने यह पद्धति 1227 ईस्वी में दी, और 1382 ईस्वी में प्रकाशित वाइकलिफ़ अंग्रेजी बाइबल इसे प्रयोग करने वाली पहली बाइबल थी। इस पद्धति के अंतर्गत जब बाइबल की किसी भी पुस्तक का कोई हवाला देना होता है तो पहले पुस्तक का नाम, फिर अध्याय और फिर वह पद लिखा जाता है जहाँ पर वह बात है। उदाहरण के लिए, यूहन्ना 3:16 से तात्पर्य है यूहन्ना की पुस्तक, उसका तीसरा अध्याय और उसका 16वां पद। यदि कोई लंबा खंड बताना होता है तो उस खंड के आरंभिक और अंतिम पदों को लिखा जाता है; यूहन्ना 3:16 – 4:6 का अर्थ है यूहन्ना 3 अध्याय के 16वें पद से लेकर 4 अध्याय के 6 पद तक का खंड विचार या प्रयोग के लिए है।
बाइबल जिस उद्धार और परमेश्वर से मेल-मिलाप की बात करती है, वह स्वेच्छा से प्रभु यीशु पर विश्वास लाने के द्वारा होता है, जिससे व्यक्ति परमेश्वर की सन्तान बन जाता है (यूहन्ना 1:12-13), और उसकी देखभाल, आशीषों, और संरक्षण में आ जाता है। यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Unique in its Contents
In the previous articles on Bible the Word of God, we have very briefly seen an introduction to the Bible, that unlike a very common and popular misconception, the Bible is not a book of the “Western” civilization, nor is its purpose to convert the people to the “Western” ideology and way of life. The Bible is God’s love letter to the entire mankind, telling them about Himself, His attributes, and His love for all men, despite their sinfulness; and how He earnestly desires for every man to be reconciled to Him, so that He can bless them on this earth as well as after their life on earth, for eternity. In the outline of the Bible, we had seen the various sections of the Bible, and how despite being written as 66 individual books, over a vast period of time, in different languages, by different authors, the whole of the Bible has one theme - the salvation of mankind and reconciliation with God; and one core central figure around whom everything in the Bible is written - the Lord Jesus - the promised and prophesied savior of all of mankind.
From today, we will start considering various unique and amazing characteristics of the Bible, that show why it is called “The Word of God.”
The content of all the 66 books of the Bible, the themes, and their writings, can be divided into five main categories. It is not necessary that every book should contain something related to each category. But, everything written in all of the books can be placed in at least one or more of these five categories.
These five categories are:
1. History – History related to Biblical things and people; As in the beginning of the book of Genesis there is a history of creation. The books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles contain a history of the kings of Israel and their deeds. The book of Acts in the New Testament has a history of the first Assembly of Christian Believers being formed and their spread throughout the world.
2. The Law or Instructions – The rules, festivals, ordinances etc. given by God for the guidance and observance by His people, are given in the first five books of the Old Testament.
3. Biographies – The lives and works of the main characters of the Bible are described in various books. The birth, life, work, teaching, death, resurrection, and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ are given in the first four books of the New Testament.
4. Prophecies – There are many prophecies in these books, throughout the Bible, from its beginning to its end, concerning God's works and concerning his people. In the book of Genesis itself, with man's fall into sin, God had foretold the way of redressal and remission of sin. The final book of the New Testament ends with the prophecy of God's people living in bliss with God for eternity.
The prophecies of the Lord Jesus Christ's birth, life, work, death, resurrection, etc., were all written thousands to hundreds of years before the birth of the Lord, in the books of the Old Testament, and they have all been accurately fulfilled. To this day no one has ever been able to prove the prophecies of the Bible to be false or wrong. What God has said has always happened, and it has happened just as it is said, even if at the time of the writing of the prophecy, or prior to its completion, it may have seemed an impossibility.
Among the books of the Old Testament are the books of certain prophets, known by the names of their authors; Such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Malachi, etc. In these books, God, through His prophets, told His people about their sins, about their going astray from God, about their falling into worldliness, etc., and God warned them of the consequences of their disobedience to His Word; and all these warnings were also fulfilled in their own time. God had also told about the things to happen in the future, they too were fulfilled according to their time, are presently being fulfilled, and will be fulfilled at the end of the world. Some books, such as the books of the prophets Jonah, Nahum, Obadiah, are God's warnings and prophecies concerning non-Jews, or Gentiles.
5. Teachings - Teachings and instructions for mankind regarding repentance for sins and being saved, then living life according to God’s will, learning about God, what God likes or dislikes, what God expects from His people, how should they prepare and keep themselves ready for God’s heavenly kingdom, etc. are all given in the books of the Bible in various contexts, through various examples, through the lives and works of the various characters of the Bible, through moral teachings and instructions, etc.
All of the above-mentioned contents of the books of the Bible are in the form of general writings, poems, hymns of praise and worship of God, prayers, short statements of moral teachings, etc. Today we see the books of the Bible divided into chapters and verses. In their original form these writings did not have this division of chapters and verses. That's why wherever the Old Testament books are quoted in the New Testament, we never find a chapter or verse number, other than the name of the author of the book. The division of Bible books into chapters and verses that we see today was done for the purpose of making any sentence or statement easier to access, or to make it easier to cite and communicate to others. The division that is commonly accepted and followed today is according to the division method of Stephen Langton, Archbishop of Canterbury in England. Bishop Langton introduced this method in AD 1227, and the Wycliffe English Bible, published in AD 1382, was the first Bible to use it. Under this method, when a reference has to be made to any book of the Bible, first the name of the book, then the chapter and then the verse where it is spoken. For example, John 3:16 refers to the book of John, its third chapter, and its 16th verse. If a long section is to be mentioned, the starting and ending verses of that section are written; John 3:16 – 4:6 means the section from verse 16 of John chapter 3 to verse 6 of chapter 4 is under consideration or use.
The salvation and reconciliation with God that the Bible talks about comes through voluntarily coming to faith in the Lord Jesus, which also makes the person a child of God (John 1:12-13), and the person also comes under the care, blessings, and safety of God. If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
