पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों का उपयोग – 6

प्रत्येक नया जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी, परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे प्रदान किए गए प्रावधानों और विशेषाधिकारों का भण्डारी है और उन्हें अपने मसीही जीवन एवं सेवकाई में योग्य रीति से उपयोग करने के लिए परमेश्वर को उत्तरदायी है। वर्तमान में हम रोमियों 12 अध्याय से पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा दिए गए वरदानों के उचित उपयोग करने के बारे में सीख रहे हैं। परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को वरदान दिए गए हैं, जो परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई के अनुसार हैं। सभी विश्वासियों को इन वरदानों को अपनी नहीं वरन कलीसिया की भलाई और उन्नति के लिए उपयोग करना है। अभी तक हमने पिछले लेखों में रोमियों 12:1-5 से देखा है कि पवित्र आत्मा सभी विश्वासियों से कहता है कि वे परमेश्वर को पूर्णतः समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी, तथा अपना स्वयं-आँकलन करने वाले बनें जिससे कि अपने वरदानों का उचित रीति से प्रयोग कर सकें। इसके बाद अब पवित्र आत्मा उसके द्वारा दिए गए वरदानों के व्यावहारिक प्रयोग के बारे में पद 6-8 में बताता है; एक बार फिर हमारे सामने आत्मिक वरदानों से संबंधित सदा ध्यान रखने और पालन करने वाले तथ्यों को दोहराता है। 

यह पद स्मरण दिलाते हैं कि:

• सभी मसीही विश्वासियों को भिन्न-भिन्न वरदान दिए गए हैं; सभी को एक ही वरदान नहीं दिया गया है, और न ही किसी एक को सभी या अधिकांश वरदान दिए गए हैं। इसलिए किसी एक वरदान के सभी में विद्यमान होने की इच्छा रखना और परमेश्वर से यह माँग करने की शिक्षा, परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार सही नहीं है। क्योंकि न तो हर किसी की एक ही सेवकाई है, और न ही हर किसी को एक ही, या समान वरदान दिया गया है। प्रत्येक को अपने वरदान को पहचानना है और उस के बारे में जानना है, तथा ईमानदारी के साथ, निरन्तर, पूरी लग्न से उसे कलीसिया की भलाई के लिए उपयोग करने में लगे रहना है। यहाँ पर ऐसा कोई संकेत अथवा शिक्षा नहीं दी गई है कि परमेश्वर से अपने वरदान को किसी अन्य में बदलने के प्रयास किए जाएँ।

• यहाँ पर किसी सेवकाई अथवा वरदान को किसी अन्य की तुलना में बड़ा या छोटा, अथवा कम या अधिक महत्वपूर्ण नहीं कहा गया है। मसीही सेवकाई और उनके निर्वाह के लिए दिए गए आत्मिक वरदानों के विषय इस प्रकार की कोई धारणा रखना और सिखाना, ऐसा कोई प्रचार करना, वचन के अनुसार सही नहीं है। 

• प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को ये वरदान परमेश्वर द्वारा उसके अनुग्रह में होकर दिए गए हैं। किसे कौन सी सेवकाई देनी है, और फिर उस सेवकाई के अनुसार किसे कौन सा वरदान देना है, यह परमेश्वर ही निर्धारित करता है। सेवकाई और वरदानों के दिए जाने में किसी मनुष्य की किसी भी प्रकार की कोई भी भूमिका नहीं है। किसी को भी कोई भी वरदान, उसकी किसी योग्यता अथवा गुण के अनुसार नहीं दिए गए हैं। इसका एक उत्तम उदाहरण है प्रेरित पतरस और पौलुस को सौंपी गई सुसमाचार प्रचार की सेवकाइयां। वचन बताता है कि पतरस एक “अनपढ़ और साधारण” मनुष्य था (प्रेरितों 4:13), और पौलुस, उद्धार से पहले, परमेश्वर के वचन की उच्च शिक्षा पाया हुआ एक फरीसी था (प्रेरितों 22:3; 26:5)। दोनों को ही परमेश्वर ने सुसमाचार प्रचार के लिए नियुक्त किया था। मानवीय बुद्धि और समझ, तथा उन दोनों की योग्यताओं के अनुसार, उपयुक्त होता कि पतरस को अन्यजातियों में भेजा जाए, जो परमेश्वर के वचन और व्यवस्था के बारे में नहीं जानते थे; और पौलुस को जो व्यवस्था और वचन का विद्वान था, यहूदियों के मध्य सेवकाई के लिए भेज जाए। किन्तु परमेश्वर ने पतरस को यहूदियों के मध्य, और पौलुस को अन्यजातियों में सुसमाचार प्रचार की सेवकाई के लिए नियुक्त किया (रोमियों 11:13; गलातीयों 2:7), जो उनकी व्यक्तिगत योग्यता के अनुसार कदापि नहीं था, किन्तु परमेश्वर ने अपने अनुग्रह और योजना में अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार ठहराया था। साथ ही इस बात का भी ध्यान करें कि न तो पतरस ने, और न ही पौलुस ने परमेश्वर से कभी अपनी योग्यता और प्रशिक्षण के अनुसार अपनी सेवकाई या सेवकाई के लोगों को बदलने की कोई प्रार्थना की। जैसा परमेश्वर ने जिसे सौंपा, उसने वह वैसा परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता और इच्छा के अनुसार, उसके लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई सामर्थ्य और सद्बुद्धि के अनुसार किया। यही बात हम वचन के अन्य भागों में भी देखते हैं।

इन पदों के बारे में हम कुछ और बातें अगले लेख में देखेंगे। 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Utilizing the Gifts of the Holy Spirit – 6

 

Every Born-Again Christian Believer is a steward of the provisions and privileges given to him by God; and is accountable to God for worthily using them in his Christian life and ministry. Presently we are learning from Romans chapter 12 about utilizing the gifts of the Holy Spirit. God the Holy Spirit has given Spiritual gifts to every Christian Believer according to the Ministry assigned to him by God. The Believers are to use these gifts not for their own, but for the benefit and edification of the Church. So far we have seen in the preceding articles on Romans 12:1-5, that the Holy Spirit has taught the Believers to prepare themselves to use these gifts worthily through becoming fully submitted and obedient to God, engaging in self-assessment and preparation. Then, the Holy Spirit goes on to teach the practical utilization of these Spiritual gifts in verses 6-8 of this chapter; Once again repeating before us the basic facts to always be kept in mind and followed in doing so. 

These verses remind us that:

• All Christian Believers have been given differing gifts; everyone has not been given the same gift; nor has anyone received most, or all of the gifts. Therefore, to desire to have a particular gift in everyone and asking God to do so, is not consistent with God’s Word. This teaching is incorrect; because not everyone has the same ministry, and neither does everyone need the same gift for their ministry. Everyone has to know and recognize their gift, and be sincerely committed in continually and diligently utilizing it for the benefit of the Church. No teaching or indication of asking God to change their gift into some other has been mentioned here.

• Here, no ministry or gift has been called lesser or greater than any other, or of greater or lesser importance than any other. Having and teaching any such concept about Spiritual gifts and ministry, and preaching this is not according to God’s Word, is wrong.

• Every Christian Believer has been given their ministry and Spiritual gift by God in His grace. It is God and God alone who determines which ministry and the corresponding Spiritual gift to give to a person. No man has any role, none whatsoever, in the assigning of the ministries and giving of the Spiritual gifts. No one has been given any ministry or Spiritual gift because of any ability or characteristic. An excellent example of this fact are the ministries assigned to the Apostles Paul and Peter. God’s Word tells us that Peter was an “uneducated and untrained man” (Acts 4:13), and Paul, before his salvation, was a learned Pharisee, highly trained in the Scriptures (Acts 22:3; 26:5). Both were appointed by God for preaching and propagating the Gospel. Going by human understanding, reasoning and logic, it would have been better to send Peter to the Gentiles, since neither he nor the Gentiles knew much about the Jewish Scriptures; and Paul, who was learned in the Jewish Scriptures, should be sent to the Jews for this ministry. But God sent Peter to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles for this ministry (Romans 11:13; Galatians 2:7), which did not correspond to their individual abilities at all; but it was something that God in His grace had determined for both of them. Also take note that neither Peter nor Paul prayed and asked for change in ministry according to their abilities and qualifications, or preferences. As God assigned to them, they did it with the ability and wisdom given by God to them. We see the same thing at other places, with other ministers of God as well.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सभी विश्वासी, उसकी सभी सन्तान समान हैं, कोई बड़ा या छोटा नहीं है; और परमेश्वर ने ही प्रत्येक विश्वासी के लिये कोई न कोई कार्य या ज़िम्मेदारी निर्धारित की है। अर्थात्, परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में प्रत्येक विश्वासी की सेवकाई की समान उपयोगिता और महत्व है; कोई भी सेवकाई कम अथवा अधिक महत्वपूर्ण नहीं है। परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा  प्रत्येक विश्वासी को उसकी सेवकाई के अनुसार आत्मिक वरदान देता है, इसलिये न तो कोई आत्मिक वरदान और न ही कोई मसीही सेवकाई, किसी भी अन्य से न तो छोटी अथवा बड़ी, या कम अथवा अधिक महत्वपूर्ण है; परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सभी समान हैं। बाइबल यही सिखाती है कि सभी वरदानों का उपयोग किसी के निज प्रयोग अथवा भलाई के लिए नहीं वरन मण्डली के सभी लोगों की भलाई के लिए होना है। सभी वरदान परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा नियुक्त सेवकाई को सुचारु रीति से पूरा करने के लिए दिए जाते हैं; किसको क्या वरदान मिलना है, यह व्यक्ति की इच्छा के अनुसार नहीं, अपितु पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा निर्धारित किया जाता है। हमने यह भी देखा था कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:31 में वाक्यांश “बड़े से बड़े वरदान की धुन में रहो” का अभिप्राय मण्डली में परमेश्वर के लिए अधिक से अधिक उपयोगी होने की “धुन में रहने” या हार्दिक इच्छा बनाए रखने के लिए है। पवित्र आत्मा से सम्बन्धित गलत शिक्षाओं को देने और फैलाने वालों की एक लोकप्रिय व्याख्या और वचन के दुरुपयोग के विपरीत, न तो यह पद और न ही यह वाक्यांश वरदानों को बड़ा या छोटा बताने और न ही वरदानों में बदलाव करवाने के लिए कहता है। इस वाक्यांश के विषय यह भी ध्यान कीजिए कि “धुन में रहो” लिखा गया है; किन्तु यह नहीं कहा गया है कि ऐसा करने से पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी के “धुन में रहने” के अनुसार उसके वरदानों और सेवकाई में कोई परिवर्तन कर देगा - जैसा कि बहुधा पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित गलत शिक्षाएं सिखाने वाले अभिप्राय देते हैं, और इसके लिए इस पद का दुरुपयोग करते हैं। 

आज से हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11 के इन 5 पदों में दिए गए विभिन्न वरदानों को थोड़ा और गहराई से देखते हैं। ध्यान कीजिए कि यहाँ हर वरदान के साथ लिखा है, “किसी को...”; अर्थात हर किसी को सभी वरदान नहीं दिए गए हैं, और हर किसी को एक ही वरदान नहीं दिया गया है। वरन अलग-अलग सेवकों को, उनकी सेवकाई के अनुसार ही अलग-अलग वरदान दिए गए हैं। इसलिए किसी को भी किसी दूसरे के वरदान को लेकर ईर्ष्या या कोई अनुचित भावना नहीं रखनी चाहिए। यहाँ दिए गए वरदानों के अतिरिक्त भी पवित्र आत्मा के वरदान हैं, जो बाइबल की अन्य पुस्तकों में दिए गए हैं। अभी के लिए हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11 में दिए गए वरदानों को ही देखना आरंभ करेंगे। इन 5 पदों में 9 विभिन्न वरदान दिए गए हैं; ये वरदान हैं: “बुद्धि का बातें”; “ज्ञान की बातें”; “विश्वास”; “चंगा करने का वरदान”; “सामर्थ्य के काम करने की शक्ति”; “भविष्यवाणी करने की शक्ति”; “आत्माओं की परख”; “अनेक प्रकार की भाषा”; “भाषाओं का अर्थ बताना”। इस खण्ड का आरंभ इन सभी वरदानों के सभी लोगों के लाभ के लिए होने, और पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा दिए जाने (पद 7), और अन्त इनके पवित्र आत्मा की इच्छा के अनुसार दिए जाने तथा इनका उपयोग पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा ही करवाए जाने (पद 11) से होता है। अर्थात आत्मिक वरदानों से संबंधित सब कुछ - उनका उद्देश्य, उन्हें प्रयोग करने की क्षमता, किस को क्या वरदान दिया जाना है का निर्णय, आदि, सभी परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के अधिकार में है। यह पूर्णतः उनकी ओर से और उनके द्वारा है; किसी मनुष्य की इसमें कोई भूमिका अथवा अधिकार नहीं है, जैसा कि इस खण्ड से पहले के 4-6 पदों में भी लिखा गया है।

एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात जो इस अध्याय के 7 पद में, आत्मिक वरदानों के उल्लेख आरम्भ करने से भी पहले कही गई है, किन्तु जिस पर अधिकांशतः लोग ध्यान नहीं देते हैं, वह है, “किन्तु सब के लाभ पहुंचाने के लिये हर एक को आत्मा का प्रकाश दिया जाता है” (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7)। हम इससे पहले के कुछ लेखों में परमेश्वर की कार्यविधि को समझते हुए, यह देख चुके हैं कि हमारा परमेश्वर पिता हमेशा सभी की भलाई के लिए ही कार्य करता है। जो आशीषें वह देता है, वह किसी व्यक्ति के अपने निज लाभ और प्रयोग के लिए ही नहीं होती हैं; वरन, उस व्यक्ति में होकर अन्य सभी के लाभ और उन्नति के लिए होती हैं। परमेश्वर ने अपने इस सिद्धान्त को आरम्भ में ही, अब्राहम से प्रतिज्ञा बांधते समय ही स्पष्ट कर दिया था कि उसमें होकर पृथ्वी के सभी कुल आशीष पाएंगे (उत्पत्ति 12:3)। और फिर इसी प्रतिज्ञा को उत्पत्ति की पुस्तक में ही बारम्बार दोहराने के द्वारा इसे स्थापित किया, इसकी पुष्टि की (उत्पत्ति 18:18; 22:18; 26:4; 28:14)। और फिर नये नियम के आरम्भ में भी इस प्रतिज्ञा को याद दिलाने के द्वारा (प्रेरितों 3:25; गलातियों 3:8) परमेश्वर ने अपनी इस कार्यविधि की फिर से पुष्टि की।  

यही बात यहाँ इस 7 पद में कही गई है। पवित्र आत्मा स्वयं इस बात को आरम्भ से ही लिखवा दे रहा है कि हर एक को जो भी आत्मिक वरदान पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से दिया गया है, वह कलीसिया में सभी के लाभ के लिए है; न कि किसी के व्यक्तिगत प्रयोग या स्वयं को ऊँचा या बड़ा दिखाने के लिये। इसकी पुष्टि एक बार फिर से 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:12 से हो जाती है “इसलिये तुम भी जब आत्मिक वरदानों की धुन में हो, तो ऐसा प्रयत्न करो, कि तुम्हारे वरदानों की उन्नति से कलीसिया की उन्नति हो”। यद्यपि यह बात अन्य-भाषा बोलने के संदर्भ में कही गई है, किन्तु फिर भी यह ध्यान देने योग्य बात है कि यहाँ पर इसे बलपूर्वक दोहराया गया है कि सभी के आत्मिक वरदानों के द्वारा कलीसिया ही की उन्नति होनी चाहिए; और 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:2-5 पद तथा इस अध्याय के अन्य पद भी यह स्पष्ट कर देते हैं कि अन्य भाषा बोलना भी कलीसिया की उन्नति के लिए ही है, किसी भी व्यक्ति के अपने निज प्रयोग अथवा लाभ के लिए नहीं। यद्यपि यह हमारे वर्तमान विषय से बाहर की चर्चा है, किन्तु इस संदर्भ में यह कहना बहुत आवश्यक है कि बाइबल में जिसे “अन्य भाषा” कहा गया है वह पृथ्वी की ही, और जानी पहचानी भाषाएं हैं। भाषाएं, जिनके नाम हैं, जो विभिन्न भौगोलिक क्षेत्रों में मनुष्यों द्वारा बोली जाती हैं, और जिनके अनुवाद किसी अन्य क्षेत्र की भाषा में किए जा सकते हैं। पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से गलत शिक्षाएं फैलाने वालों की इस गलत शिक्षा का कि अन्य भाषाएं अलौकिक, पृथ्वी के बाहर की भाषा है, बाइबल में कोई समर्थन नहीं है। 1 कुरिन्थियों 14 अध्याय ही ध्यान से और प्रार्थना पूर्वक पढ़ लीजिए, वास्तविकता स्वतः ही प्रकट हो जाएगी। 

अगले लेख से आरम्भ करके, हम उपरोक्त पवित्र आत्मा के 9 वरदानों में से प्रत्येक के बारे में कुछ-कुछ देखेंगे।

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit – 1

 

In the previous articles we have seen that in the eyes of God, all Believers, all of His children are equal, none is greater or lesser; and it is God who has given every Believer some work or responsibility. Implying that in God’s eyes every Believer’s ministry has equal utility and importance; none of the ministries are of lesser or greater importance. God the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to every Believer according to their ministry; therefore, neither any Spiritual Gift, nor any Christian Ministry is greater or smaller, or of greater or lesser importance than any other; in the eyes of God all are equal. The Bible teaches that all the Spiritual Gifts are to be used not for anyone’s personal benefit, but for the benefit of the people of the Church. All the gifts are given by God the Holy Spirit, so that the Believer can do his God assigned work and ministry properly and worthily. It is the Holy Spirit who decides which gift to give to whom; these gifts are not given according to the desires of any person, and no man can demand any particular gift from Him. We had also seen that the phrase “But earnestly desire the best gifts” from 1 Corinthians 12:31 means that the Believers should be desirous of being of “best use” or as much use as possible in the Church of God. Contrary to popular interpretation and misuse, as is done by those who teach wrong doctrines and false teachings about the Holy Spirit, this phrase and this verse is not meant to say that any gift is greater or lesser than another, and Believers should strive to have their gifts changed or to obtain a particular gift. Take note of another thing about this verse, it says, “desire the best gifts;” but it is neither said not implied here that by doing so the Holy Spirit will alter the Believer’s gifts according to their desire – as those who preach and teach wrong things about the Holy Spirit wrongly imply, and misuse this verse for.

From today we will see in a little more detail about the Spiritual gifts mentioned in the 5 verses of 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. Take note that in these verses, along with the names of the gifts, the phrase “to one/to another…” has also been added. In other words, all the gifts have not been given to any one person, nor has one particular gift been given to all the persons. According to their work and ministry, different people have been given different gifts. Therefore, no one should have any ill-feelings or jealousy about another’s gifts. Besides the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned over here, some other gifts have also been mentioned in the other books of the Bible. But for now, we will concentrate upon only the gifts mentioned 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. In these 5 verses, 9 different gifts have been mentioned; they are: “word of wisdom,” “word of knowledge,” “faith,” “healing,” “miracles,” “prophecy,” “discerning of spirits,” “different kinds of tongues,” and “interpretation of tongue.” This section starts with the caution that all the gifts are given by the Holy Spirit for the benefit of all (verse 7) and concludes with the caution that these gifts are given as the Holy Spirit decides and are to be used as the Holy Spirit instructs (verse 11). In other words, everything related to the Spiritual gifts - their purpose, the ability to use them, who is to receive which gift, etc., are all completely controlled by the Holy Spirit. All these gifts are from Him and by Him; no man has any role or interference in this, as has been made clear in the immediately preceding section of verses 4-6.

A very important thing has been stated in verse 7 of this chapter, even prior to mentioning the spiritual gifts, over which most people do not usually pay any attention is, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all” (1 Corinthians 12:7). In some earlier articles, while looking at and understanding how God works, we have seen that our Father God works for the benefit of everyone. The blessings He gives are not for any person’s personal use and benefit; but for the benefit and growth of everyone through that person. God had made His principle clear at the beginning, when He entered into a covenant with Abraham, that all the families of the earth will be blessed through him (Genesis 12:3). Then by repeating it over and over again in the book of Genesis, God established and confirmed this promise (Genesis 18:18; 22:18; 26:4; 28:14). And then, at the beginning of the New Testament, by reminding this promise (Acts 3:25; Galatians 3:8), God reaffirmed his principle.  

This same thing is stated here in verse 7. The Holy Spirit had it written at the very beginning that whichever spiritual gifts He gives, all of them are for the benefit and growth of everyone in the Church; not for anyone's personal use or exaltation. This is then repeated and re-affirmed in 1 Corinthians 14:12 “Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel.” Although this statement has been made in context of speaking in ‘tongues’ i.e., other languages, yet what is important to note is that it has been emphatically repeated that the Church should benefit and grow through the use of spiritual gifts. Also, 1 Corinthians 14:2-5 make it clear that speaking in ‘tongues’, i.e., other earthly languages should be for the benefit of the Church; it is not meant for anyone’s personal use or benefit. Although it is not a part of our current discussion, but in context of what is being said here, it is very important to say and understand that what the Bible mentions as ‘tongues,’ are known, spoken, and understood languages of this world. Languages that have their own names and are spoken by people living in various geographical areas of this world, and which can be translated from one to another. Those who preach, teach and spread wrong doctrines and false teachings in the name of, and about the Holy Spirit say and teach that these are extra-terrestrial languages, but there is no support for this from the Bible. Read carefully and prayerfully 1 Corinthians 14 chapter, and the truth will readily become apparent. 

From the next article onwards, we will see a few things about each of the aforementioned 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

इसलिए, यदि परमेश्वर का वचन कहीं चुभ नहीं रहा है, जीवन की कोई कमजोरी या कमी या पाप को उजागर नहीं कर रहा है, सुनने वालों को उनके भीतर की, उनके मन और विचारों की वास्तविक दशा का बोध नहीं करवा रहा है, तो फिर वह अपने निर्धारित उद्देश्य को पूरा नहीं कर रहा है, क्योंकि उसे उसके निर्धारित उद्देश्य के लिये प्रयोग नहीं किया जा रहा है। और तब ऐसे किसी भी प्रचार या शिक्षा को स्वीकार करने और मानने के प्रति बहुत सतर्क रहना चाहिए। यदि प्रचारक अथवा शिक्षक बाइबल के अनुसार सही शिक्षाएँ नहीं दे रहा है, और यदि आवश्यक होने पर भी डाँटने और उलाहना देने का उपयोग नहीं कर रहा है, तो फिर उस प्रचारक पर भरोसा करना, उसका अनुसरण करना गलत होगा। यहाँ यह तर्क भी लागू नहीं होता है कि वचन को समकालीन और प्रासंगिक करके प्रस्तुत किया जा रहा है। क्योंकि, जैसा हम देख चुके हैं, हमारे हाथों में जो वचन है, वह प्रभु यीशु का एक स्वरूप है (यूहन्ना 1:1, 14; प्रकाशितवाक्य 19:11-13), और यह वचन अटल है, स्वर्ग में अनंतकाल के लिये स्थापित है (भजन 119:89)। इसलिये इसमें कोई परिवर्तन करना या उसे समकालीन और प्रासंगिक करने का कोई स्थान ही नहीं है, अन्यथा वह तो परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु मसीह में परिवर्तन और संशोधन करने के समान हो जाएगा।

परमेश्वर के वचन को “स्वादिष्ट” और सहज बनाने के लिए, ये “बेचने” वाले प्रचारक वचन की तीखी औ काटने वाली बातों को निकाल देते हैं, और उनके स्थान पर प्रसन्न करने वाली मनोहर बातें डाल देते हैं। इस प्रकार से वे 1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6 के निर्देश के विरुद्ध, परमेश्वर के लिखित वास्तविक वचन के “बाहर” चले जाते हैं, उसकी गलत व्याख्या और दुरुपयोग करने, तथा उसमें अपने ही विचार डाल देने, उसे श्रोताओं को भावता हुआ बनाने के लिये। ऐसे प्रचारक और उनकी शिक्षाएँ संभवतः श्रोताओं द्वारा बहुत पसन्द की जाएँगी, उनकी प्रशंसा की जाएगी; और प्रचारक को अच्छे उपहार तथा पैसा भी मिलेगा, तथा साथ ही सिफारिश के पत्र भी दिए जाएंगे, जिनका उपयोग ये लोग अपनी बड़ाई और प्रचार के लिए तथा फिर किसी अन्य कलीसिया में जाकर इसी प्रक्रिया को दोहराने के लिए करेंगे। लेकिन क्योंकि परमेश्वर के वचन के द्वारा श्रोताओं की वास्तविक पापमय दशा उजागर करके उन पर प्रकट नहीं की गई, और न ही श्रोताओं का सामना उनके पापों, बुराइयों, और उनके अनन्तकालीन दुष्परिणामों से करवाया गया, इसलिए वे अपने पापों के लिए कायल भी नहीं होंगे। और इसीलिए फिर वे अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करने, और उद्धार पाने के लिए उभारे भी नहीं जाएंगे (प्रेरितों 2:37-38)। इसलिए ऐसा प्रचार, उसे सुनने वालों के उद्धार के सन्दर्भ में, व्यर्थ ठहरेगा; और ऐसे संदेशों को सुनने के बाद भी वे लोग नरक के उतने ही भागी बने रहेंगे, जितना वे उस सन्देश को सुनने से पहले थे।

यह समस्या केवल तब ही नहीं थी, लेकिन आज भी है, उससे कहीं अधिक प्रचलित नहीं तो कम से कम उतनी ही गंभीर तो है ही, जितनी आरम्भिक कलीसिया के समय में थी। आज के समय के पास्टरों, परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों का मुख्य उद्देश्य रहता है कि किसी भी तरह से मण्डली के लोगों को बुरा न लगे, ठेस न पहुँचे। यह और भी अधिक तब किया जाता है जब वह प्रचारक कलीसिया के बाहर कहीं से आमंत्रित किया गया होता है। तब ये लोग विशेषतः वही कहते हैं जो लोग सुनना चाहते हैं, जिसे सुनकर वे प्रसन्न होते हैं (2 तीमुथियुस 4:3-4), ताकि भविष्य में उन्हें फिर से बुलाया जाए। परमेश्वर के वचन को “बेचने” वाले ये लोग पार्थिव आशीषों, साँसारिक समृद्धि, शारीरिक चंगाइयों, भौतिक आश्चर्यकर्मों, उज्ज्वल भविष्य की प्रतिज्ञाओं, आदि की बातें करेंगे, लेकिन वे पाप, पाप से पश्चाताप, उद्धार पाने और अनन्त विनाश से बचने की अनिवार्यता – जिस उद्देश्य के लिए प्रभु यीशु मसीह पृथ्वी पर आया था, आदि के बारे में बात नहीं करेंगे।

थोड़ा विचार कीजिए, “बेचने” वाले ये पास्टर, प्रचारक, शिक्षक जितनी भी भौतिक, पार्थिव, शारीरिक, साँसारिक बातों की बातें करते हैं, ऐसी बातें जो श्रोताओं को अच्छी और “स्वादिष्ट” लगें, वे सभी बातें एक न एक दिन सँसार के साथ या तो नाश हो जाएँगी, अथवा मृत्यु के बाद यहीं पीछे छूट जाएँगी। उस व्यक्ति के साथ जो एकमात्र बात जाएगी, वह है उसके जीवन का हिसाब-किताब, उसके पापों का लेखा-जोखा (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10)। तो फिर, ऐसे संदेशों को सुनने वालों के लिए, उन प्रचारकों के ये परमेश्वर के वचन के “बाहर” होकर, मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने के लिए दिए जाने वाले इन सन्देशों से क्या लाभ होगा? यदि श्रोता अपने पापों के लिए कायल नहीं किए गए, उन्होंने अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप नहीं किया, और वे प्रभु यीशु मसीह को अपना व्यक्तिगत उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण करने के द्वारा बचाए नहीं गए, तो उन मनोहर, मधुर बातों को सुनने से उन्हें क्या लाभ हुआ?

अगले लेख में हम वचन के एक अन्य खण्ड से पौलुस के द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन के उपयोग और वचन के साथ व्यवहार के बारे में कुछ और बातों को सीखेंगे।

Appropriately Handling God’s Word – 16

 

As we have seen in the previous article, the Word of God has certain characteristics and purposes; they become evident when it is used under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, for its intended purpose. In context of our understanding “going beyond” God’s Word, we need to keep these characteristics of God’s Word in mind. God’s Word is like a sword meant to cut deep into the heart and expose the sinful things hidden there (Hebrews 4:12). It is meant to be used amongst the congregation to correct the people and instruct them in righteousness, if required through rebuking and exhorting as well (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 4:2). A sword when used for its intended purpose, always cuts and penetrates, and that is always painful. Sometimes, the Word can be used for worshipping, praising, adoring, and thanking God; for preaching or teaching about God’s attributes and works, and then the message does not have the aforementioned characteristics. But even then, the Word exalts God, teaches about Him, encourages about spiritual life and things, and teaches to be edified in the forever established and eternal heavenly things of lasting value (Romans 12:1-2; Philippians 4:8-9; Colossians 3:2). It still does not teach to exalt, praise, or promote any person, nor does it encourage to go after temporal and perishing things, wealth, and gains of this world (2 John 2:15-17; James 4:1-4).

 

So, if God’s Word is not creating any discomfort by touching upon sin and short-comings in one’s life, is not making the listeners aware of the actual condition of their hearts and minds, then it is not serving its purpose, because it is not being used for its intended purpose. And one should be very wary of believing in any such preaching. If the preacher or teacher is not teaching Biblically correct doctrines, and if required, is not resorting to rebuking and exhortation to teach the correct things of God, then that preacher is not to be trusted upon and followed. Here, this argument is untenable that the Word is being presented in a relevant and contemporary manner. Since, as we have seen, the Word that we have in our hands, is a form of the Lord Jesus (John 1:1, 14; Revelation 19:11-13), and this Word is unchanging, being settled in heaven forever (Psalm 119:89). Therefore, there is no possibility of altering it in any way or making it contemporary or relevant, since that will tantamount to altering and editing the Lord God Jesus Christ.

To make God’s Word “palatable” and convenient, these peddling preachers take away the sharp and cutting parts of the Word, and substitute them with pleasing and pleasant things in their preaching and teaching. Thus, contrary to the instruction of 1 Corinthian 4:6, they “go beyond” what God’s Word actually says, by misinterpreting it, misusing it, adding their own ideas to it, to make it sound pleasing to the audience. These preachers and their messages would most likely be well appreciated and applauded by the listeners; and the preacher would likely get good gifts and money, and would also be given letters of recommendation, which they will use to promote themselves and then repeat the same process in some other Church. But since, the actual inner sinful state of the audience has not been cut into and exposed by God’s Word, nor have the audience been brought face-to-face with their wrongs and sins, and the eternal deleterious consequences have not been brought before them, so, they are not convicted for their sins. Therefore, they are not motivated into repentance for their sins, and seeking salvation (Acts 2:37-38). Hence, such preaching will bring no results in terms of salvation of the listeners, and even after hearing and appreciating such messages, they would still remain as hell-bound, as they had been before listening to it.

This problem was not only present at that time, but is present even today, if not worse then at the very least, it is just as serious, as it was in the first Church. The main aim of most of the present-day pastors, preachers, and teachers of God’s Word, is not to offend the congregation in any way. This is done even more if they have been called “guest or invited” speakers, from an outside Church. Then they make it a point to say things that the congregation likes to hear and is pleased to hear (2 Timothy 4:3-4), so that they may be invited again. The peddlers of God’s Word will talk of temporal blessings, material prosperity, physical healings, worldly miracles, promises of a great future, etc. but will stay away from talking about sin, need of repentance for sin, and the necessity of salvation to escape eternal damnation – the very purpose the Lord Jesus Christ came to earth for.

Think it over, every worldly thing that these peddling pastors, preachers, and teachers talk about, to sound good and palatable to the audience, will eventually perish with the world, or be left behind when the person dies. The only thing that will go with that person, for accountability before God is the record of their lives, their record of sins (2 Corinthians 5:10). So, of what benefit has this “going beyond” God’s Word and being pleasers of men been to those who heard and appreciated those messages? Since they were not convicted of their sins, did not repent from them, and did not get saved by accepting the Lord Jesus as their savior, then how did their listening to pleasant and sweet talk benefit them?

In the next article, we will take up another part of God’s Word, and learn some more things from it about how Paul used and handled God’s Word.

Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पुनःअवलोकन: पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि समस्याएं और विपरीत परिस्थितियाँ मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन का अभिन्न अंग हैं, और उन से बचने का कोई तरीका नहीं है। हमने लेख का अन्त यह कहने के साथ किया था कि शैतान हमेशा ही मसीहियों पर मुसीबतें और समस्याएँ लाता ही रहता है। ऐसा वह न केवल उनके लिए जीवन को कठिन बनाने के लिए करता है, वरन इसलिए भी कि उन्हें उनकी आशीषों और प्रतिफलों में कुछ हानि हो, तथा साथ ही उनकी गवाही को भी बिगाड़ सके जिससे कि लोग उनका अनुसरण न करें, मसीह में विश्वास नहीं करें, और उद्धार प्राप्त न कर सकें। इसलिए, मसीही विश्वासियों को निरन्तर प्रयास में लगे रहना चाहिए कि विश्वास के अपने जीवन को जी कर दिखाएँ, इसके लिए पुरुषार्थ करें, तथा परमेश्वर की सहायता से आशीषित और सफल हों, तथा उनके जीवनों से परमेश्वर को महिमा मिले। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि शैतान के इन हमलों, विपरीत परिस्थितियों का सामना करने के लिये, परमेश्वर ने सभी वास्तव में नया जन्म पाए हुए सभी मसीही विश्वासियों को उपयुक्त संसाधन भी दिये हैं। ये संसाधन हैं: उनके शिक्षक और सहायक के रूप में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा (यूहन्ना 14:16, 26), उनका मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए अपना जीवता वचन (भजन 119:105), और उनके द्वारा सभी परिस्थितियों में धैर्य और संयम बनाए रखने के लिये, क्लेशों में ढाढ़स देने के लिये अपनी शान्ति (यूहन्ना 14:27; यूहन्ना 16:33)।

लेकिन, बहुधा यह प्रश्न उठाया जाता है, खास कर तब जब परिस्थितियाँ विकट हों, कि परमेश्वर मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में इन समस्याओं और विपरीत परिस्थितियों को आने ही क्यों देता है? क्यों परमेश्वर शैतान की इन युक्तियों और हमलों को हम से दूर नहीं रखता है? जब भी हम इस प्रश्न का सामना करें, तो हमें हमेशा यह याद रखना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर की संतान के जीवन में बिना प्रभु परमेश्वर की इच्छा और अनुमति के कुछ नहीं हो सकता है; और उतना ही हो सकता है, जितने की परमेश्वर अनुमति देता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13); और अन्ततः, सभी बातों के द्वारा, परमेश्वर ने कुछ भले ही की योजना बनाई है जो उसकी संतान के लाभ ही के लिए है (रोमियों 8:28)।

जब भी हम अपने जीवन और सम्बन्धित समस्याओं को लेकर परेशान हों, तब हमें हमेशा ध्यान करना चाहिए कि:

• हमारा सृष्टिकर्ता परमेश्वर हम से बेहतर जानता है कि हमारी योग्यताएँ तथा क्षमताएँ क्या हैं; हम किस सीमा तक बर्दाश्त कर सकते हैं, सामना कर सकते हैं। परमेश्वर हमारे जीवनों में उतनी ही सीमा तक संघर्षों और समस्याओं को आने देता है, जिस सीमा तक हम व्यक्तिगत रीति से उनका सामना कर सकते हैं।

• हम जब भी किसी भी परिस्थिति का सामना करें, तो यह ध्यान रखें कि सफलता पूर्वक उनमें से होकर हमें निकालने के लिए परमेश्वर हमेशा हमारे साथ रहता है (निर्गमन 4:12; मत्ती 10:19-20)।

• परमेश्वर ने अपने लोगों के चारों और एक बाड़ा बाँधा है और शैतान उसे न तो तोड़ सकता है और न उसके अन्दर जा सकता है; वह तब ही हमारी हानि कर सकता है, जब हम बाड़े से बाहर आएँ (सभोपदेशक 10:8), और तब भी उतनी ही सीमा तक जितना परमेश्वर अनुमति देता है (अय्यूब 1:10; 2:6)।

•  परमेश्वर कभी भी शैतान को हम पर ऐसी कोई बात नहीं लाने देगा, जिसका सफलता पूर्वक सामना करने के लिए परमेश्वर ने हमें पहले से ही योग्य नहीं बना रखा है, और जिसके लिए उचित और उपयुक्त सामर्थ्य, योग्यता, और बुद्धिमानी प्रदान नहीं कर रखी है (दानिय्येल 3:17; 2 तिमुथियुस 4:18; 2 पतरस 2:9)।

• अन्ततः, ये संघर्ष विभिन्न प्रकार से हमारा अभ्यास करवाने के द्वारा, हमारे लिए भलाई और आशीष ही उत्पन्न करते हैं (यिर्मयाह 29:11; 2 कुरिन्थियों 4:17; रोमियों 5:3-5; रोमियों 8:28), तथा औरों के सामने परमेश्वर की देखभाल तथा सुरक्षा का उदाहरण बनते हैं।

 

इसलिए हमें समस्याओं और परिस्थितियों को सही रवैये के साथ स्वीकार करना सीखना चाहिए। जो भी परमेश्वर ने हमारे जीवनों में आ लेने या हो लेने दिया है, जो भी वह हम से करने के लिए कह रहा है, उसमें हमें हमेशा ही परमेश्वर पर भरोसा बनाए रखना चाहिए, कि उसने हमें पहले से ही उसका सामना करने के लिए उचित एवं उपयुक्त सामर्थ्य तथा आवश्यक संसाधन दे रखे हैं। ये समस्याएं और परिस्थितियाँ परमेश्वर से हमें मिलने वाले प्रतिफलों एवं महिमा तक पहुँचने के लिए हमारी सीढ़ियाँ हैं। और इन में होकर परमेश्वर न केवल हमें आशीष प्रदान करेगा, बल्कि मसीही जीवन में उन्नति करने में भी हमारी सहायता करेगा (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:16-17)।

परमेश्वर की विश्वासयोग्यता के पाठ परेशानियों में ही सबसे अच्छे से सीखे जाते हैं। हम मत्ती 14:24-31 में देखते हैं कि पतरस को पानी पर चलने के लिए अनुमति देने से पहले परमेश्वर ने तूफ़ान और लहरों को शांत नहीं किया; और न ही पतरस से यह बाद में कभी, जब तूफान और लहरें न हों, तब प्रयास करने के लिये कहा। बल्कि, उसी तूफान में ही पतरस को पानी पर चलने के लिए कहा – उसी कठिन समय में ही एक असंभव प्रतीत होने वाले कार्य को करने के लिए कहा। और जब तक पतरस प्रभु को देखता रहा, उस तूफ़ान में भी पानी पर चलता रहा; वह तब ही डूबने लगा जब उसने अपनी आँखें प्रभु से हटा कर तूफ़ान पर लगाईं। लूका 19 अध्याय में, अपनी व्यक्तिगत सीमाओं के बावजूद, ज़क्कई ने ठान लिया था कि वह कैसे भी हो, प्रभु यीशु को अवश्य ही देखेगा। उसने पुरुषार्थ दिखाया, परिश्रम किया, और न केवल सफल रहा, बल्कि प्रभु द्वारा आशीष भी प्राप्त की, उसका जीवन बदल गया, और आज भी वह औरों को प्रभु की और आकर्षित करता है।

हमें इस बात का एहसास करना चाहिए और उसे सीखना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर हमारे लिए परिस्थितियों को बदल कर उन्हें आसान और सहने योग्य नहीं कर देता है; बल्कि वह हमें बदलता है, वह हमें परिस्थितियों का सामना करने और उन पर जयवंत होने के योग्य बना देता है। यह करने के द्वारा वह हमें दिखाता है कि हम क्या कुछ करने की क्षमता रखते हैं, परमेश्वर की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन से हम कितने महान काम कर सकते हैं। बस हमें पुरुषार्थ करने और अपने मसीही विश्वास के जीवनों में जयवन्त होने के लिए परिश्रम करने वाला होना चाहिए।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Be a Man - 3 

Review: In the previous article we had seen that problems and adverse situations are a part of life for the Christian Believer, and there is no escaping from them for him. We had closed the article by saying that Satan always keeps bringing trouble and problems upon Christians, not only to make life difficult for them, but to also try and cause harm to their rewards, as well as to spoil their testimony so that others may be prevented from emulating them in coming to faith in Christ Jesus and being saved. Therefore, the Christian Believers need to constantly be striving to live out their life of Faith and be manly for this, be blessed and successful from God, and glorify God through our lives. We had also seen that to be able to face these satanic attacks and all adverse circumstances, God has given to all truly Born-Again Christian Believers the required provisions. These provisions are: His Holy Spirit to help and teach us (John 14:16, 26), His Living Word to guide us (Psalm 119:105), and to help us maintain a calm composure in all circumstances, and comfort us in our tribulations, He has given us His peace (John 14:27; John 16:33).

But then, one is often tempted to ask, more so when in daunting situations and adverse circumstances, why does God allow these problems and adverse situations to come in a Christian Believer’s life? Why does God not keep these satanic ploys and attacks away from us? Whenever we face this question, we should always keep in mind that nothing happens in the life of a child of God without the permission and outside the will of the Lord, and then, only to the extent He allows (1 Corinthians 10:13), and eventually through them all, God has planned something good and beneficial for His child (Romans 8:28).

When perplexed about our life and problems, we should always keep in mind that:

• Our creator God knows better than us what our own abilities and capabilities are; how much we can face and handle. God allows these struggles and problems in our lives, only to the extent that we as individuals can handle them.

• When we are facing any situations, God is always there to help us go through them (Exodus 4:12; Matthew 10:19-20).

• God has put a hedge around His people and Satan cannot breach or cross it; he can only do harm if we come out of that hedge (Ecclesiastes 10:8), and to the extent that God permits him to do (Job 1:10; 2:6).

• God will never permit Satan to bring upon us anything that God has not already made us capable of handling, and has not already given us the strength, ability, and wisdom to manage (Daniel 3:17; 2 Timothy 4:18; 2 Peter 2:9).

• Eventually, these struggles, by exercising us in various ways, serve to work for our benefit and blessings (Jeremiah 29:11; 2 Corinthians 4:17; Romans 5:3-5; Romans 8:28), and also serve as examples for others, of God’s care and security.

Therefore, we must learn to accept and take the problems and situations with the right attitude. We must keep trusting that whatever God has allowed to come or happen in our lives, whatever He is asking us to do, He already has made us capable of managing that situation and has provided the required resources as well. These problems and situations are our stepping stones to glory and rewards from God. And through them not only will God bless us, but will also help us grow in our Christian life (2 Corinthians 4:16-17).

Lessons of God's faithfulness are learnt best when facing adversities. We see in Matthew 14:24-31, Lord Jesus did not calm the storm and waves before permitting Peter to walk on water; nor did He ask Peter to attempt doing so, some other time, when there were no storms and waves. Rather, He asked Peter to walk on the water, in that storm itself - do the seemingly impossible at that very difficult time. And Peter, so long as he was looking at the Lord, walked on the water, in the storm; it was only when Peter started looking at the storm instead of the Lord Jesus, that he started to sink. In Luke 19 Zacchaeus, despite his personal limitations, decided to see Jesus any which way he could. He chose to be a man, and strove to do it; and he was not only successful, but was also blessed by the Lord, his life was changed, and even today he is attracting people to the Lord.

We must realize and learn that the Lord God does not change the situations for us to make them easy and tolerable for us; instead, He changes us, He makes us capable of facing and overcoming the situations. Through this, He shows us what all we are actually capable of doing, and how great things we can accomplish through the help and guidance of God, if we are willing to be a man and strive to be victorious in our Christian lives.
