मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 3 - प्रभु-भोज (14)
हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है कि व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन जीने के लिए परमेश्वर ने अपने लोगों को, अपने वचन बाइबल में शिक्षाएं और निर्देश दिए हैं। बाइबल में स्थान-स्थान पर दिए गए इन शिक्षाओं और निर्देशों में से प्रेरितों 2 और 15 अध्याय में कुछ ऐसी शिक्षाएं और निर्देश हैं, जिनके पालन और निर्वाह से उस समय के आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी अपने आत्मिक जीवनों में उन्नत हुए; सभी विरोध, सताव और विपरीत परिस्थितियों का सामना करते हुए भी वे मसीही विश्वास में स्थिर और दृढ़ बने रहे; और कलीसियाएं भी बढ़ती चली गईं। प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में सात बातें दी गई हैं, जिनमें से पहली तीन, जो मसीही विश्वास में आने, प्रभु के शिष्य बनाने से सम्बन्धित हैं, वे पतरस द्वारा किए गए प्रचार में दी गई हैं। शेष चार, जो मसीही विश्वास में उन्नति और बढ़ोतरी से सम्बन्धित हैं, और इसीलिए जिन्हें “मसीही जीवन के स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है, और जिनका पालन आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी लौलीन होकर किया करते थे, प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई हैं। अभी तक हम इन सात में से पाँच बातों को देख चुके हैं; और छठी बात, अर्थात प्रेरितों 2:42 के चार में से तीसरे स्तम्भ, “रोटी तोड़ना” यानि प्रभु भोज में या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने पर विचार कर रहे हैं।
हमने देखा है कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने की एकमात्र सही विधि और सम्बन्धित बातें, प्रभु ने प्रभु भोज की स्थापना किए जाने के समय बता दीं हैं; और ये बातें हमें चारों सुसमाचारों में दिए गए प्रभु भोज से सम्बन्धित वृतान्तों में मिलती हैं। आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासियों को वे बातें सिखाई गई थीं; और इसीलिए वे तेज़ी से अपने विश्वास तथा संख्या में बढ़ते गए। लेकिन जैसे आज हो रहा है, थोड़े ही समय में लोगों ने प्रेरितों 2:42 की बातों को एक रीति बना लिया, उनमें लौलीन होकर नहीं, बल्कि औपचारिकता निभाने के लिए उनका निर्वाह करने लगे। परिणामस्वरूप, मसीही विश्वासियों तथा कलीसियाओं के आत्मिक स्तर और विश्वास का जीवन जीने के स्तर में भारी गिरावट आ गई; तथा मसीही विश्वासियों और कलीसियाओं में बहुत सी गलत और अनुचित बाते देखी जाने लगीं। कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली में यह समस्या बहुत विकट थी, और परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने उनकी गलतियों को दिखाने और सही करने के लिए, प्रेरित पौलुस द्वारा उन्हें पत्रियाँ लिखवाईं। इनमें से पहली पत्री में प्रभु भोज में अनुचित तथा उचित रीति से भाग लेने से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाएं 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 में मिलती हैं। अब हम इन्हीं शिक्षाओं को सात बिन्दुओं के अन्तर्गत देख रहे हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने पाँचवें बिन्दु, उचित और अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने का निष्कर्ष; और उचित रीति से भाग लेने के लिए, भाग लेने वाले को अपने आप को किन बातों के आधार पर जाँचना और सुधारना है, उसके बारे में 27-28 पदों से देखा था। आज से हम छठे बिन्दु, अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के दुष्परिणामों के बारे में, पद 29-30 से देखेंगे।
6. प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेना - पद 29-30 - (भाग 1)
हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-27 में दी गई उन गलतियों को देखा है, इनके कारण मसीही विश्वासी प्रभु भोज में अनुचित रीति से भाग लेते हैं। पिछले लेख और पाँचवें बिन्दु के समापन पर हमने उन गलतियों पर आधारित बातों के अनुसार, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने से पहले, प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने वालों को अपने आप को जाँचने और सुधारने के लिए एक सूची दी थी। यह जाँचना और सुधारना, और इसे भी एक औपचारिकता के समान नहीं, वरन बहुत गम्भीरता तथा सही रीति से करना, बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। क्योंकि जैसा पद 27 में लिखा है, अनुचित रीति से मेज़ में भाग लेने से, भाग लेने वाला स्वतः ही प्रभु की देह और लहू का अपराधी हो जाता है; और पद 28 में यह परमेश्वर की आज्ञा है कि मनुष्य अपने आप को जाँच ले, और तब ही प्रभु भोज में सम्मिलित हो। सच्चे, दीन, और समर्पित मन से, तथा पवित्र आत्मा से सहायता मांगने की प्रार्थना के साथ, पिछले लेख की सूची की सहायता लेते हुए, अपने आप को जाँचने से, व्यक्ति को अपनी गलतियों और कमियों का एहसास होगा। और तब वह एक वास्तविक पश्चातापी मन के साथ, अपनी गलतियों का अंगीकार करते हुए, 1 यूहन्ना 1:9 के आधार पर प्रभु से उनके लिए क्षमा मांगते हुए, उचित रीति से प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने पाएगा। तब प्रभु भोज उसके लिए वास्तव में आत्मिक उन्नति, विश्वास में बढ़ोतरी, और प्रभु से आशीषों का माध्यम ठहरेगा। साथ ही, प्रभु भोज में भाग लेते समय व्यक्ति को अपने विषय यह भी जाँच और देख लेना चाहिए कि क्या मैं अपने मसीही जीवन और विश्वास में, वचन की समझ और आज्ञाकारिता में बढ़ता जा रहा हूँ कि नहीं? कहीं मैं एक ही स्तर और स्थान पर आकर अटक तो नहीं गया हूँ? कहीं मैं फिर से औपचारिकताओं का ही निर्वाह तो नहीं करने लग गया हूँ? या, कहीं मैं अपने आत्मिक जीवन और विश्वास में फिर से गिरने तो नहीं लग गया हूँ?
प्रभु ने अपने लोगों को शैतान और उसके लोगों से, तथा शैतान की युक्तियों से सुरक्षित रखने के लिए, उनके आत्मिक तथा मसीही विश्वास के जीवन में प्रभु भोज के द्वारा एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण और आवश्यक “चेक-पोस्ट” या जाँचने का नाका लगाया है। यदि प्रभु द्वारा स्थापित इस नाके का सही उपयोग किया जाए, तो हर बार प्रभु भोज में भाग लेते समय, व्यक्ति के पास यह अवसर होता है कि वह अपने जीवन के छिपे अथवा प्रत्यक्ष पापों और कमियों की गठरी को वहीं पर उतार कर, प्रभु के कदमों पर रखकर, आशीषित और सुरक्षित होकर, शुद्ध मन और विवेक के साथ आगे बढ़ जाए। नहीं तो जीवन में बनी रहने वाली गलतियाँ और पाप, शैतान को अन्दर आने, और भारी नुकसान करते रहने का मार्ग और अवसर प्रदान करते रहेंगे। लेकिन बात केवल यहीं तक ही सीमित नहीं है। जैसा हमने ऊपर देखा है, प्रभु भोज में अनुचित रीति से भाग लेना, भाग लेने वाले को प्रभु की देह और लहू का अपराधी बनाता है, उसे दोषी ठहरा कर, प्रभु से भारी दण्ड का भागी बनाता है। और जैसे पद 29-30 में लिखा है, अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने वालों को, यहीं, पृथ्वी पर ही, यह दण्ड मिलता भी है। शैतान इस दोषी ठहरने और दण्ड के भागी होने को भी, अविश्वासियों, तथा विश्वासियों, दोनों के विरुद्ध उपयोग करता है।
ध्यान कीजिए, अदन की वाटिका में, हव्वा को परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता करने और वर्जित फल को खाने के लिए शैतान ने उसे उकसाया था, परमेश्वर द्वारा दण्ड मिलने की बात को झूठा कहकर, अनाज्ञाकारिता के घातक दुष्परिणाम से उसे निश्चिन्त करके, उसके सामने फल खा लेने से होने वाले लाभों को रखा था। हव्वा उसके छल में आ गई, और परमेश्वर के कहे की अनाज्ञाकारिता कर बैठी, पाप को प्रवेश दे दिया, परमेश्वर से मिली सभी आशीषों और सुरक्षा को गँवा दिया। अविश्वासियों को प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के लिए उकसा कर भी शैतान उन पर यही दांव खेलता है। प्रभु भोज के यथार्थ, और भाग लेने से सम्बन्धित बाइबल की सच्चाइयों को उनसे छुपाए रखकर, उन्हें भ्रमित करके मेज़ में भाग लेने से मिलने वाले फायदे दिखाकर, वह उनसे प्रभु की अनाज्ञाकारिता करवाता है। उन्हें भाग लेने के द्वारा धर्मी, प्रभु को स्वीकार्य, तथा स्वर्ग में प्रवेश के योग्य होने की गलतफहमी में फंसा कर, उन्हें वास्तव में पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु को उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण करने से रोके रहता है। वह उन्हें दण्ड का भागी बनाकर उनकी हानि करता है, और इसके द्वारा उन्हें मसीही विश्वास तथा परमेश्वर के प्रति उदासीन बना देता है; और उनके मनों में परमेश्वर के वचन, मसीही विश्वास, आदि के प्रति अविश्वास उत्पन्न कर देता है। कुल मिलाकर परिणाम यह कि वह उस भाग लेने वाले अविश्वासी को, किसी न किसी तरह से प्रभु में विश्वास करने से बाधित कर देता है, अपने चंगुल से बचने नहीं देता है, और अपने साथ अनन्त विनाश का भागी बनाए रखता है। यह सब केवल इसलिए होता है क्योंकि किसी ने भी उन अविश्वासियों को प्रभु भोज के बारे में, और उसमें उचित रीति से भाग लेने के बारे में नहीं समझाया।
ऐसे लोगों की इस दुर्दशा, इस अनन्त विनाश में जाने के लिए ज़िम्मेदार, और उसके लिए जवाबदेह तथा दण्ड के भागी वे पादरी, और कलीसिया के अगुवे भी होंगे जिन्होंने कभी सही शिक्षाएं देकर लोगों को सचेत नहीं किया; बल्कि उन्हें उनकी गलतियों में बने रहने दिया (यहेजकेल 13 अध्याय तथा 33:1-6 देखिए)। वे लोग केवल औपचारिकताएं पूरी करते रहे, अपनी नौकरी करते रहे, अधिकारियों और अन्य मनुष्यों की कही बात मानते रहे। मनुष्यों के डर के आगे, उन्होंने परमेश्वर का भय रखने की अनदेखी कर दी; मनुष्यों से हानि उठाने से बचने के लिए, वे परमेश्वर से हानि उठाने के लिए तैयार हो गए। सत्य को जानते हुए भी, वे सत्य को दबाए और छुपाए रहे; लोगों से केवल औपचारिकताएं और मनुष्यों के द्वारा गढ़ी गई रीतियों तथा नियमों का निर्वाह करवाते रहे; और असंख्य लोगों को अनन्तकाल के लिए नरक का भागी बना दिया। क्या वे अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी और जवाबदेही से बचने पाएँगे (यहेजकेल 34:7-10)? प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वाले, और भाग देने वाले, दोनों ही को बहुत सावधान और सचेत रहना है। प्रभु की देह और लहू की ज़िम्मेदारी बहुत भारी और गम्भीर है।
अगले लेख में हम प्रभु की ताड़ना और वास्तविक मसीही विश्वासियों द्वारा अनुचित रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के बारे में देखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Things Related to Christian Living – 39
The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 3 - Breaking of Bread (14)
We have seen in the previous articles that God has given teachings and instructions in His Word, the Bible for living a practical Christian life. Of the teachings and instructions given at various places in the Bible, in Acts chapters 2 and 15 there are some teachings and instructions, and their following and observance led to the Christian Believers being edified in their spiritual lives; being well established and standing firm in their faith despite facing opposition, persecution, and adverse circumstances; and the churches too continued to grow. There are seven things given in Acts 2, of them, the first three, related to coming into the Christian faith and becoming the disciples of the Lord Jesus are given in Peter’s sermon. The other four are given in Acts 2:42, and are related to the edification and growth in the Christian faith, because of which they are also known as the “Pillars of Christian Living,” and the initial Christian Believers used to steadfastly follow them. Till now, we have seen five of these seven, and are presently considering the sixth one, i.e., the third of the four pillars of Acts 2:42, the “breaking of bread” or the Holy Communion, or partaking of the Lord’s Table.
We have seen that the Lord has given the one and only correct manner of partaking in the Lord’s Table, and its related things, at the time of instituting the Table, as is given in the gospel accounts. The initial Christian Believers were taught these things, and that is why they rapidly grew in their faith and numbers. But as is happening now, then too, after some time, the people made the things of Acts 2:42 into a ritual, and instead of doing them steadfastly, they started observing them to fulfill a formality. The consequence was that there was a great decline in the state of spiritual lives and faith amongst the Christian Believers as well as of the churches; and many wrong and inappropriate things came in. This problem was quite severe in the church at Corinth, and God the Holy Spirit, to show them their errors and to correct them, had the Apostle Paul write letters to them. In these letters, in the first letter, in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, we have the instructions about the errors and about the participation in the Holy Communion in a worthy or unworthy manner. Presently, we are considering these things under seven points. In the last article, we have seen the conclusion of the fifth point, i.e., partaking in a worthy and unworthy manner; and from verses 27-28 have seen the matters about which the person partaking in the Table has to examine and correct himself before partaking. From today, we are going to begin considering the sixth of the seven points, i.e., the harmful consequences of unworthily partaking in the Holy Communion, from verses 29-30.
6. Partaking in the Holy Communion - verses 29-30 - (Part 1)
From 1 Corinthians 11:17-27, we have seen the errors, because of which the participation in the Holy Communion by the Christian Believers, becomes participating unworthily. In the last article, the concluding article on the firth point, based on the errors, we have provided a list, so that those partaking in the Holy Communion may examine and correct themselves with its help. It is very necessary that this examination and correcting is not done as a formality. Since, as is written in verse 27, by partaking unworthily, the one partaking automatically becomes guilty of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus; and in verse 28, it is the Lord’s commandment that a person should examine himself, and only then partake of the Table. With a truly contrite, surrendered, and humble heart, and with the prayer for the Holy Spirit to help do so, with the aid of the list given in the previous article, the person partaking can examine himself and see where he has gone wrong, see his short-comings. Then, with a truly repentant heart, accepting his sins, and asking for their forgiveness on the basis of 1 John 1:9, the person can partake in the Holy Communion in a worthy manner. It is then that the Holy Communion will bring blessings in his life and will be a cause for spiritual edification and growing in faith for him. The person partaking of the Lord’s Table, should also examine himself to see whether he has been increasing in his Christian life, faith, understanding and obedience of God’s Word, or not. Whether he has got stuck at one stage, and is stagnating there. Whether he has again started only fulfilling formalities. Or, has he started to decline in his spiritual life and faith.
The Lord, in the Holy Communion, has given His people a very important and necessary barrier, a “check-post” to keep them safe in their spiritual lives and faith, from the schemes of the devil. If this Lord given barrier is utilized worthily, then every time one participates in the Holy Communion, he has the opportunity to unburden himself of his hidden or evident sins and short-comings, and leave them at the Lord’s feet, then proceed ahead with a clear conscience and a purified heart, with the Lord’s blessings and security. Otherwise, the sins and short-comings that remain in one’s life provide Satan the opening and opportunity to enter in and create great harm. The problem does not just end there. As we have seen above, partaking in the Holy Communion in an unworthy manner, makes the participant guilty of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus, and liable to judgment and severe punishment from the Lord. And, as is written in verse 29-30, the one partaking unworthily, is punished here on earth for it. Satan uses this being guilty and its punishment against both, the unbelievers, as well as the Believers.
Recall that in the Garden of Eden, Satan had instigated Eve to disobey God and eat the forbidden fruit. By calling the punishment of disobedience a lie, he thereby made her careless about the fatal consequences of disobedience and placed before her the advantages of eating the fruit. Eve fell for his guile, disobeyed God, gave entry to sin, and lost all the blessings and security God had provided. By making the unbelievers to partake in the Lord’s Table, Satan uses the same ploy against them. Satan hides from them the reality and necessities of partaking of the Lord’s Table, misleads them into disobeying God by partaking in the Holy Communion, by putting before them the advantages of partaking. Satan entices them by falsely making them believe that by partaking they will become righteous, acceptable to God, and qualified to enter heaven; and thus, keeps them from truly repenting of their sins and accepting the Lord Jesus as their savior and Lord. Satan brings them to harm by making them guilty, and bringing punishment upon them. Through this he makes them indifferent and unresponsive to God, and creates unbelief in their hearts about God’s Word, Christian faith, etc. The net result is that the unbelievers partaking in the Lord’s Table are hindered in some way from coming to faith in the Lord. They remain in the clutches of the devil, to go to hell with him. All because no one explained to the unbelievers about the Holy Communion and participating in it in the God given worthy manner.
The Pastors and church elders who never gave the correct teachings and warned the people, but allowed them to stay in their errors, will be held responsible and accountable for the sorry state and eternal damnation of such people (see Ezekiel chapter 13, and 33:1-6). They only kept fulfilling formalities, merely doing a job, and following the instructions of other men and officials. To stay safe from offending men, they were uncaring of offending God; to stay safe from suffering loss from people, they chose to suffer loss at the hands of God. Though knowing the truth, they hid and suppressed it; they only had people continue fulfilling formalities, man-made rules, and contrived rituals. Thereby they have sent countless numbers into hell forever. Will they ever escape from their responsibility and accountability (Ezekiel 34:7-10)? Those who serve the Holy Communion, and those who receive it, both need to be very careful and cautious. The responsibility of the body and blood of the Lord is very serious and very grave.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
