कलीसिया का निर्माण – 3 – पतरस पर? – 3
उद्धार के साथ ही, परमेश्वर प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाने वाले विश्वासी को, उसका मसीही जीवन जीने तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई ज़िम्मेदारियों का सही निर्वाह करने के लिये, कुछ आत्मिक वरदान और विशेषाधिकार भी देता है। इसलिये, परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिये गये विशेषाधिकारों और आत्मिक वरदानों का उचित रीति से उपयोग करने के लिये, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उनके बारे में, पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता से, परमेश्वर के वचन से सीखना चाहिए। क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को अपनी कलीसिया का अंग बनाया है और उसे अपने अन्य बच्चों की संगति में रखा है, इसलिए विश्वासियों को कलीसिया के, तथा अन्य विश्वासियों के साथ संगति रखने के बारे में सीखना चाहिए। हमने पिछले लेखों में कलीसिया और उसके सदस्यों के बारे में कुछ बातें बाइबल में उपयोग किए गए सात रूपकों के द्वारा सीखी हैं। और अब हम सीख रहें हैं कि कलीसिया प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा किस प्रकार से बनाई जा रही है, जैसा कि प्रभु ने मत्ती 16:18 में कहा है। इसी पद से, ईसाई या मसीही समाज में एक बहुत आम गलत धारणा भी आई है कि प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी कलीसिया पतरस पर बनाई है। बात को स्पष्ट करने के लिए हम इस के बारे में तीन प्रश्नों से सीख रहे हैं, और पिछले लेख में हमने पहले प्रश्न – इस पद में प्रभु यीशु के कहे हुए का क्या अर्थ है, को देखा है। उस लेख में हमने शब्दों के अर्थ, संदर्भ, और उपयोग के द्वारा यह देखा और समझा है कि यह पद इस गलत धारणा का कोई समर्थन नहीं करता है कि प्रभु ने कहा है कि वह अपनी कलीसिया पतरस पर बनाएगा। आज हम इस से संबंधित दूसरे प्रश्न को देखना आरंभ करेंगे - क्या वचन में किसी अन्य स्थान पर पतरस पर कलीसिया के बनाने की, उसे कलीसिया का आधार रखने की पुष्टि है?
कलीसिया, या मण्डली, अर्थात प्रभु के बुलाए हुए लोगों का समूह किसी भी व्यक्ति पर कदापि आधारित नहीं है, इसकी एक पुष्टि हम प्रेरित पौलुस द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली को लिखी गई पहले पत्री के आरंभिक भाग में ही देखते हैं। पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस में होकर कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली के लोगों के, प्रभु के सेवकों के प्रति उनकी निष्ठा के अनुसार गुट बनाकर विभाजित होने और फिर परस्पर मतभेद एवं संघर्ष रखने की प्रवृत्ति की भर्त्सना करते हुए लिखवाया है, “हे भाइयो, मैं तुम से यीशु मसीह जो हमारा प्रभु है उसके नाम के द्वारा बिनती करता हूं, कि तुम सब एक ही बात कहो; और तुम में फूट न हो, परन्तु एक ही मन और एक ही मत हो कर मिले रहो। क्योंकि हे मेरे भाइयों, खलोए के घराने के लोगों ने मुझे तुम्हारे विषय में बताया है, कि तुम में झगड़े हो रहे हैं। मेरा कहना यह है, कि तुम में से कोई तो अपने आप को पौलुस का, कोई अपुल्लोस का, कोई कैफा का, कोई मसीह का कहता है। क्या मसीह बँट गया? क्या पौलुस तुम्हारे लिये क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया? या तुम्हें पौलुस के नाम पर बपतिस्मा मिला?” (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:10-13)। इस खण्ड से स्पष्ट है कि प्रभु के सेवकों के नाम पर, जिनमें से एक नाम कैफा, अर्थात पतरस का भी दिया गया है, निष्ठा रखने, और फिर उस आधार पर गुट बनाकर विभाजित होने, आपस में झगड़ने की यह प्रवृत्ति पूर्णतः अनुचित थी, और प्रभु की कलीसिया में कदापि स्वीकार्य नहीं थी।
प्रभु के सभी लोगों को, उस एक ही नाम, प्रभु यीशु, पर निष्ठा रखनी थी; और प्रभु के प्रति समर्पण के अनुसार ही साथ मिलकर एक मनता के साथ रहना था। ध्यान कीजिए कि यहाँ पर पतरस के नाम को कैसा भी, कोई भी विशेष महत्व प्रदान नहीं किया गया; अपितु उसे, तथा कलीसिया के अन्य अगुवों को, मनुष्यों के द्वारा यह विशेष महत्व देने, उन्हें ऊँचे पर उठाने के प्रयास की निन्दा ही की गई, इस से निकलने और हटने के लिए कहा गया। यह एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण शिक्षा को हमारे सामने लाता है: जब भी उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु यीशु के नाम को छोड़ किसी भी अन्य व्यक्ति या प्रभु के सेवक के नाम अथवा किसी भी मनुष्य को महत्व देने के प्रयास होते हैं, तो परिणाम परस्पर मतभेद, झगड़े, और प्रभु के नाम की निन्दा होना ही होता है। यह इसलिये क्योंकि यह परमेश्वर की ओर से नहीं वरन शैतान की ओर से है, और शैतान कभी भी प्रेम को नहीं वरन बैर, फूट, मतभेदों, और झगड़ों को ही लेकर आता है।
फिर इसी पत्री में थोड़ा आगे चलकर, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात लिखवाता है, जिसकी, तथा उससे संबंधित एक अन्य पद की, अनदेखी और अवहेलना वे सभी लोग, जाने या अनजाने में करते हैं, जो यह मानते हैं कि पतरस ही प्रथम मण्डली का आधार था, मण्डली उसी पर बनाई गई थी। पौलुस ने पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में लिखा, “क्योंकि उस नेव को छोड़ जो पड़ी है, और वह यीशु मसीह है कोई दूसरी नेव नहीं डाल सकता” (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:11)। इस पद के पहले भाग से यह बिलकुल स्पष्ट है कि कलीसिया की नींव या आधार पहले से तैयार और स्थापित है; मध्य भाग बताता है कि वह पहले से तैयार और डाली गई यह नींव स्वयं प्रभु यीशु मसीह है, और अंतिम भाग बताता है कि कोई भी इस नींव को बदल नहीं सकता है, इसके स्थान पर कोई और नींव डाल ही नहीं सकता है।
हम इस दूसरे प्रश्न पर विचार करने को ज़ारी रखेंगे, और अगले लेख में बाइबल के अन्य खण्डों के आधार पर इस गलत धारणा, कि कलीसिया पतरस पर बनाई गई है, का खण्डन देखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Building the Church – 3 – On Peter? – 3
Along with salvation God gives every Christian Believer some privileges and spiritual gifts, to help in living his Christian life and fulfill his God given responsibilities. Therefore, as steward of his God given privileges and spiritual gifts, he must learn about them from God’s Word, through the help and guidance of God’s Holy Spirit, to be able to utilize them worthily. Since God has made every Born-Again Christian Believer a member of His Church and given him the fellowship of His other children, therefore the Believers need to learn about the Church and about fellowshipping with other Believers. We have learnt some things about the Church and its people through seven metaphors used in the Bible in the previous articles, and have now started learning about how the Church is built by the Lord Jesus, as He has said in Matthew 16:18. From the same verse, one very common misconception in Christendom, is that the Lord Jesus has built His Church on Peter. To clarify the situation, we are learning about this through three questions, and in the last article we have considered the first question – what the Lord meant to say in this verse. In that article, through the meanings, context, and usage of the words of this verse we saw how the verse does not support this notion that the Lord has said that He will build His Church on Peter. Today we will start considering the second question - Does the Scripture at any other place support or state this notion of the Church being built on Peter, or Peter being its foundation?
That the Church or Assembly, i.e., the gathering of the called-out ones of the Lord is by no means based upon a person is affirmed by the Holy Spirit through Paul in the beginning of his first letter written to the Church at Corinth. The Holy Spirit castigated the people of the Church in Corinth through Paul, for dividing themselves into factions on the basis of the elders they liked, and then developing a tendency of opposing each other on this basis. He wrote to them “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you. Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ." Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?” (1 Corinthians 1:10-13). It is very clear from this passage that the tendency to have allegiance to ministers of the Lord God, and one of the names mentioned is of Cephas, i.e., Peter, then indulge in factionalism on that basis, and start quarreling amongst themselves was absolutely wrong and totally unacceptable in the Church of the Lord.
Every Believer in the Lord Jesus must have allegiance to only one name i.e., the Lord Jesus Christ; be surrendered and obedient to Him, and remain united to serve not any person but the Lord and Lord alone. Note that no special importance or exaltation has been given to Peter here; rather the tendency to give importance and exaltation to him and other Church leaders by men has been censured outrightly, and the Church members have been commanded to get out of and move away from this tendency. This brings a very important teaching before us: whenever any minister of the Lord or any person other than the Lord Jesus is given any importance and exaltation in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, it always results in mutual acrimony, tensions, quarrels, and vilification of the name of the Lord Jesus. This happens because this is not from God, but from Satan, and Satan never brings any love and unity; rather always causes discord, divisions, acrimony, and quarrels amongst people.
Then, a little further into the letter, the Holy Spirit had something very important written, which, all those who insist on saying that only Peter was the foundation of the first Church, knowingly or unknowingly ignore and overlook, along with another related verse about this. Paul, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 3:11). The first part of this verse very clearly states that the foundation of the Assembly or the Church of the Lord Jesus is unchangeable, no one can alter it or substitute it with another; the middle part of the verse states that this foundation has been made ready and established from beforehand; and the last part of the verse says that this firm, unalterable, established foundation is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. No one can ever change this foundation to any other, by any means. Therefore, there is no way that Peter could ever be the foundation of the Lord’s Church.
We will carry on with considering this second question, and Biblically refuting the erroneous stand of the Church being built on Peter, through other Biblical passages in the next article.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
