परमेश्वर को रिस दिलाना, या, उसका जलन रखना को समझना। - भाग 1.

        पौलुस, 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:21-22 में, मसीही विश्वासियों के प्रभु के मेज़ में सम्मिलित होने तथा मूरतों को चढ़ाए हुए बलिदानों, अर्पित की गई वस्तुओं को स्वीकार करने के सन्दर्भ में लिखता है, “तुम प्रभु के कटोरे, और दुष्टात्माओं के कटोरे दोनों में से नहीं पी सकते! तुम प्रभु की मेज और दुष्टात्माओं की मेज दोनों के साझी नहीं हो सकते। क्या हम प्रभु को रिस दिलाते हैं ?क्या हम उस से शक्तिमान हैं?” हमारी स्वाभाविक प्रवृत्ति होती है कि रिस लेकर, या जलन रखते हुए काम करने को नकारात्मक रीति से देखें, क्योंकि हमारे दिन-प्रतिदिन के जीवनों में इस भावना को ऐसे ही कार्यान्वित होते हुए देखा जाता है। किन्तु मूल यूनानी भाषा में परमेश्वर को रिस दिलाने या उसके जलन रखने के लिए जो शब्द प्रयोग किया गया है उसका यह नकारात्मक भाव वाला अर्थ नहीं होता है। यूनानी भाषा के जिस शब्द को हिन्दी में ‘रिस दिलाने’ के लिए प्रयोग किया गया है, वह है “parazeloo (पैरा-ज़ी-लू)”; और उसका शब्दार्थ होता है “उकसाया जाना, या प्रतिद्वंद्वी होकर काम करना”। इसलिए प्रभु द्वारा किसी के प्रति रिस में होकर कुछ करने का तात्पर्य है प्रभु को उकसाना या उत्तेजित करना कि वह अपने हक को बनाए रखने के लिए कार्य करे। प्रभु अपने विश्वासियों से असीम प्रेम करता है; इतना कि उसने उनके उद्धार तथा उसके साथ फिर से मेल-मिलाप में आ जाने के लिए अपने एकलौते पुत्र को बलिदान कर दिया (यूहन्ना 3:16; रोमियों 5:1, 11), वह उनके अन्दर पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा निवास करता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19), और अपने स्‍वर्गदूतों को उनकी सेवा-टहल करने वाली आत्माएं बना दिया है (इब्रानियों 1:14)। इसके प्रत्युत्तर में वह चाहता है कि उसके लोग केवल उसी से प्रेम करें, केवल उसी के बनकर रहें (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15); अपने प्रेम और भावनाओं को किसी और के प्रति न रखें, उसे हल्के में न लें, औरों में से किसी एक के समान उससे विभाजित प्रेम न रखें।

    हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:21 में देखते हैं कि मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए एक स्पष्ट निष्कर्ष रखा गया है। यह न तो कोई सुझाव है, और न ही विश्वासी के चुन लेने के लिए कोई विकल्प दिए गए हैं, अथवा कोई चुनाव उनके सामने रखा गया है। यहाँ एक दृढ़ और अंतिम निष्कर्ष ही दिया गया है जिसे विश्वासी को लागू करना ही है। जो प्रभु परमेश्वर के लोग हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के द्वारा इसकी पुष्टि करते हैं, वे दुष्टात्माओं के कटोरे और मेज़ में सम्मिलित नहीं हो सकते हैं; उन्हें यह करना ही नहीं है। प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के द्वारा, भाग लेने वाला इस बात की पुष्टि करता है कि वह प्रभु यीशु का एक समर्पित और प्रतिबद्ध अनुयायी है, प्रभु के साथ निकट संबंध में रहता है, और प्रभु के साथ घनिष्ठ संपर्क बनाए रखता है।

    लेकिन यहाँ पर ध्यान देने योग्य एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण किन्तु अनकही बात भी है। यद्यपि उनके अनाज्ञाकारी होने के कारण वे परमेश्वर को रिस दिलाते हैं, किन्तु यह कहीं नहीं कहा गया है और न ही संकेत किया गया है कि उनकी अनाज्ञाकारिता तथा संसार के साथ समझौता कर लेने के कारण, वे परमेश्वर के लोग होने से हटा दिए जाएंगे, या परमेश्वर उन्हें त्याग देगा, या उन्हें उसे छोड़ कर संसार के साथ जीवन बिताने के लिए चले जाने देगा। जब तक कि हम इस बात को नहीं समझ लेंगे, हम परमेश्वर को रिस दिलाने और उसके अनुसार व्यवहार करने को नहीं समझने पाएंगे। 

    जो परमेश्वर के जन हैं, उसके परिवार का हिस्सा भी हैं, और उसकी अनमोल संपत्ति भी हैं। वह संसार के साथ समझौता करने के लिए, और विश्वास में बने रहने की बजाए शैतान के प्रलोभनों में गिर जाने के लिए अवश्य ही उनकी ताड़ना करेगा - यदि आवश्यक हुआ तो बहुत तीव्र ताड़ना भी करेगा, जैसा हम पहले देख चुके हैं, किन्तु कभी भी किसी को भी, उन्हें उससे दूर नहीं ले जाने देगा। एक बार जो परमेश्वर की संतान बन गया, उसकी देह का अंग बन गया, वह हमेशा, अनन्तकाल के लिए परमेश्वर की संतान और उसकी देह का अंग है। यद्यपि बाइबल इस बात के लिए बहुत स्पष्ट है, और कहीं पर भी ऐसा कोई उदाहरण नहीं दिया गया है कि किसी ने भी कभी भी अपने दुराचारी जीवन के कारण अपने उद्धार को खोया हो, लेकिन फिर भी शैतान ने बहुत से लोगों के मनों में यह बात बहुत दृढ़ता से बैठा दी है कि यदि भले कर्मों से सुरक्षित न रखा जाए, तो उद्धार खोया जा सकता है। बाइबल का तथ्य तो यही है कि उद्धार पाया हुआ व्यक्ति ताड़ना पा सकता है, और पाएगा भी, और स्वर्ग में छूछे हाथ भी प्रवेश करेगा, किन्तु उद्धार कभी नहीं खोएगा। 

    अनाज्ञाकारिता के कारण उद्धार खोने के इस तर्क का एक और पहलू भी है; ऐसा, जो परमेश्वर के आधारभूत गुणों पर प्रहार करता है - उसके सर्वज्ञानी, अर्थात आदि से अंत के बारे में जानने (यशायाह 14:24; 46:10); और सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर (यूहन्ना 10:28-29) होने पर। यदि किसी का उद्धार उसके व्यवहार के कारण खो सकता है, तो इसका तात्पर्य हुआ कि परमेश्वर ने जब उसे उद्धार दिया, उसके पश्चाताप करने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास करने, क्षमा माँगने को स्वीकार किया, तब परमेश्वर या तो जानता नहीं था, या फिर जान नहीं सकता था कि कुछ समय के बाद यह व्यक्ति उससे विमुख होकर चला जाएगा। इसलिए फिर वह अपने दावे के अनुरूप, सर्वज्ञानी परमेश्वर कैसे हो सकता है? दूसरी बात, यदि शैतान फुसलाने, प्रलोभन देने, डराने-धमकाने, झपटा मारकर छीन लेने, या किसी भी अन्य तरीके से किसी को परमेश्वर के हाथों में से निकाल कर ले जा सकता है, और परमेश्वर इस बारे में कुछ नहीं करने पाता है (मत्ती 12:29), तब तो फिर शैतान परमेश्वर से अधिक शक्तिशाली, चतुर, और सामर्थी है, और परमेश्वर फिर सर्वशक्तिमान नहीं है। लेकिन बाइबल का तथ्य है कि परमेश्वर शैतान को भी कुछ बातों को करने की अनुमति दे देता है (निर्गमन 9:16; रोमियों 9:17, 22) और फिर उन बातों के द्वारा अपने बच्चों के लिए कुछ भला करता है (रोमियों 8:28), जैसा कि अय्यूब के जीवन से भली भांति चित्रित किया गया है (अय्यूब 42:12; याकूब 5:11)। किन्तु जो परमेश्वर और उसके वचन को हल्के में लेते हैं, वे हल्के में बचने नहीं पाएंगे, उन्हें एक भारी कीमत चुकानी पड़ेगी, और कुछ तो छूछे हाथ ही अनन्तकाल में प्रवेश करेंगे (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:13-15)।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Understanding the Jealousy of God, Provoking Him to Jealousy. – Part 1

       In 1 Corinthians 10:21-22, Paul in context of Christian Believers participating in the Lord’s table, as well as partaking of things offered to idols writes, “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons. Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?” Our normal tendency is to think of jealousy as a negative trait, as something wrong, since that is how we see this feeling in our day-to-day lives. But that is not how this word has been used for God in the original Greek language here. The word in the Greek language, that has been translated as jealousy is “parazeloo (pa-ra-zee-lo'-ō)”; and in English it literally means “to stimulate alongside, i.e., excite to rivalry.” Therefore, to provoke the Lord to jealousy implies to stimulate Him or provoke Him to act out of His possessiveness. The Lord loves His Believers, His children, immeasurably; so much that He gave His only begotten Son to redeem them and to have them reconciled with Him (John 3:16; Romans 5:1, 11), He lives within them as the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19), and has made His angels their ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:14). In return, He expects them to love Him, and Him alone (2 Corinthians 5:15); to not divide their love and affections with others, and treat Him casually as one amongst many that His people love.

    We see in 1 Corinthians 10:21, a clear conclusion is put forth for the Christian Believers. It is neither a suggestion, nor any options or choices are presented, for the Believer to choose from. It is a firm, final conclusion that the Believer has to implement. Those who are the people of God, and affirm it by partaking of the Lord’s Table, cannot partake in the cup and table of demons; they are not to do it. The Christian Believer’s partaking in the Lord’s Table is his affirmation of being a committed and submitted follower of the Lord Jesus, his being in close fellowship, and maintaining an intimate relationship with the Lord.

    In just the same way, the implication of partaking the cup and table of demons is that the person is a follower of the demons, and stays in close fellowship with them, maintains a relationship with them. Therefore, those Believers who walk with the world and live by the ways of the world, by doing so acknowledge that they are not in fellowship with the Lord, are not maintaining a relationship with Him; they will suffer the deleterious consequences. As it says in verse 22, this then has a serious consequence for them - they provoke the Lord to jealousy, and invite trouble upon themselves from the Lord God. We will see more about this consequence in the next article.

    But notice an unstated but implied thing of great importance here. Though their being disobedient to the Lord provokes Him to jealousy, but nowhere does He say or imply, that because of their disobeying Him, and compromising with the world, they will cease to be His people, or that He will abandon them, or even that He will allow them to walk away from Him and live with the world. Unless we understand this, we cannot understand why the Lord will be provoked to jealousy and act accordingly.

    Those who are God’s people, His children, His family, are also His precious possession. He is very possessive about them. He will chasten them for their being wayward, for compromising with the world, and succumbing to the temptations brought by the devil instead of standing firm in faith, and if it is required, He will even chasten severely - as we have already seen; but will never let anyone take them away from Him. Once a child of God, once a part of His body, always, for eternity a child of God and a member of His body. Although the Bible is very clear about it, and there are no examples of anyone ever losing their salvation because of their wayward life, but still, Satan has put this misconception very firmly into many people’s minds that salvation can be lost if it is not maintained by good works. The Biblical fact is that the saved person can be, and will be chastened, and enter heaven without any rewards because of his wayward life, but he will never lose his salvation.

    There is another aspect to this argument about losing salvation because of disobedience to God; one that hits at the basic characteristics of God - His being omniscient, knowing the end from the beginning (Isaiah 14:24; 46:10), and His being the omnipotent God (John 10:28-29). If salvation can be lost because of the saved person’s behavior, then it implies that God when saving him, accepting his repentance, coming to faith in the Lord Jesus, and plea for forgiveness, either did not or could not know that in the days to come, this person will walk away from Him. So, He cannot be the omniscient God that he claims to be. Secondly, if Satan can entice, tempt, threaten, snatch, or in any other way, take away anyone out of God’s hands while God remains powerless or unable to do anything about it (Matthew 12:29), then Satan is stronger, or wiser, or more potent than God, and God is not omnipotent. But the Biblical fact is that God permits Satan to do certain things (Exodus 9:16; Romans 9:17, 22) and eventually even through those things works out good for His children (Romans 8:28), as is well illustrated by the life of Job (Job 42:12; James 5:11). But those who take the Lord and His Word lightly, will not escape lightly, they will have a price to pay, and some will even enter eternity empty-handed (1 Corinthians 3:13-15).

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

बाइबल में भविष्यवाणी करने के क्या तात्पर्य हैं? 

    मसीहियों में इस बात के लिए बहुत असमंजस और अनिश्चितता है कि “भविष्यवाणी करना” का वास्तविक अभिप्राय क्या है? इस असमंजस और अनिश्चितता के मुख्यतः दो कारण हैं:

·        पहला, अधिकांश “मसीही” व्यक्तिगत बाइबल अध्ययन, या स्वयं बाइबल पढ़ने में समय नहीं बिताते हैं। वे परमेश्वर के वचन के बारे में औरों से उनके विचार और धारणाएँ स्वीकार करने से ही संतुष्ट रहते हैं, तथा उनमें यह प्रवृत्ति पाई जाती है कि परमेश्वर के नाम में कोई भी उन से कुछ भी कह दे, वे सामान्यतः उसे स्वीकार कर लेते हैं, उस पर विश्वास कर लेते हैं। शायद ही कोई होगा जो इस बारे में परमेश्वर के वचन में दिए गए निर्देश और उदाहरण (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21; प्रेरितों 17:11) का पालन करता है, कि उनसे जो कहा और उन्हें जो सिखाया जा रहा है उसे स्वीकार करने और मानने से पहले उसे परमेश्वर के वचन से जाँच और परख लें, सत्यापित कर लें।

परमेश्वर के वचन, बाइबल में जिन शब्दों का हिन्दी अनुवाद “भविष्यवाणी” किया गया है, वे नए नियम की मूल यूनानी भाषा में propheteuo (प्रोफ-अटे-यू) है, जिसका शब्दार्थ होता है आने वाली घटनाओं के बारे में बताना, ईश्वरीय प्रेरणा के अन्तर्गत बोलना, भविष्यद्वक्ता की ज़िम्मेदारी निभाना; और पुराने नियम की इब्रानी भाषा का शब्द है, naba (ना-बा) जिसका अर्थ होता आने वाली बातें बताना, प्रेरणा के द्वारा बोलना या भजन गाना। उपरोक्त बातों को ध्यान में रखते हुए हम परमेश्वर के वचन में से देखते हैं कि इन शब्दों को किन विभिन्न प्रकार से उपयोग किया गया है। यह पुनःअवलोकन हमें दिखता है कि अनुवाद “भविष्यवाणी” मूल रूप में किन अर्थों के साथ प्रयोग किया गया है। इन शब्दों के प्रयोग के कुछ उदाहरण हैं:

o   किसी ‘ईश्वर या देवता’ के नाम में पुकारना – 1 राजाओं 18:29 – बाल के पुजारियों ने उसके नाम को पुकारा

o   समक्ष बोलना; अर्थात, लोगों के सामने या लोगों को संबोधित करते हुए किसी विषय पर बोलना या चर्चा करना। किन्तु इसका यह अर्थ नहीं है कि “नबी या भविष्यद्वक्ता” जो भी कहे वह सभी सही होगा, या “भविष्यवाणी” होगी, या परमेश्वर की ओर से होगा। वरन, वास्तव में “भविष्यवाणी” वही है जो परमेश्वर के कहने पर कही या की जाती है। साथ ही, परमेश्वर कभी भी इस बात के लिए बाध्य नहीं है कि यदि कोई नबी या भविष्यद्वक्ता अपनी इच्छा, समझ, या बुद्धि से कुछ कहे तो उसे पूरा भी करे (उदाहरण के लिए, नातान ने दाऊद के साथ सहमति जताई और उसे परमेश्वर का मंदिर बनाने की सलाह दी, जिसे परमेश्वर ने तुरंत ही रद्द कर दिया – 1 इतिहास 17:1-4), परमेश्वर केवल वही बात पूरी करेगा जो स्वयं उसने भविष्यद्वक्ता से उस की ओर से लोगों से कहें के लिए दी है। इसके कुछ उदाहरण हैं:

§  Luke 22:64 – सैनिक प्रभु यीशु का ठट्ठा कर रहे थे उसे मार रहे थे और पूछ रहे थे कि बताए कि किसने उसे मारा।

o   आने वाली घटनाओं के बारे में पहले से ही बता देना

§  यहेजकेल 36:1, 3, 6; 37:12-14 - परमेश्वर की ओर से आने वाली बातों और घटनाओं के बारे में बताना।

o   भजन गाना, आराधना करना, और यह करते समय संगीत वाद्य बजाना

§  1 इतिहास 25:1-6 – दाऊद द्वारा इस सेवकाई के लिए कुछ लोग अलग किए गए।

    हिन्दी में “भविष्यवाणी” अनुवाद किए गए मूल इब्रानी और यूनानी भाषा के शब्दों के इन कुछ उदाहरणों से, यह प्रकट है कि इन शब्दों को परमेश्वर के वचन में एक से अधिक अर्थ और अभिप्राय के साथ प्रयोग किया गया है, हर बार “भविष्यवाणी” ईश्वरीय नहीं होती है, और न ही वह हमेशा “परमेश्वर का वचन” ही होती है, तथा न ही हमेशा ही आने वाली बातों और घटनाओं के बारे में बताती है। इसलिए जब हमें “ईश्वरीय भविष्यवाणी” के दावों के साथ प्रभावित करने और हमें किसी बात को मानने के लिए बाध्य करते हैं,तब हमें बहुत सावधान होकर, उनकी बातों को जाँच-परख कर ही सही निर्णय लेने वाला होना चाहिए।

In the Bible, What does to Prophesy mean?

    There is a lot of confusion amongst Christians as to what does the term “to prophesy” really mean? The cause of this confusion is two-fold:

·        Firstly, most “Christians” do not spend time in personal Bible study, or even reading the Bible for themselves. They are content with receiving ‘second-hand’ information and knowledge about God’s Word from other people, and have a tendency to believe practically everything that anyone preaches or teaches to them in the name of God. Hardly anyone ever takes time to obey the instructions and examples of God’s Word (1 Thessalonians 5:21; Acts 17:11) to cross-check and verify from God’s Word the things that are told and taught to them, before accepting and following them.

·        Secondly, because of this personal deficiency of Bible reading and study and of not cross-checking the messages received, those preaching and teaching wrong things and doctrines related to Christianity and God’s Word, have an easy opportunity to infiltrate Christendom with their erroneous teachings, and generate this confusion that is seen about many things (Acts 20:29-30; 1 Timothy 4:1).  

In God’s Word, the Bible, the words translated as “prophesy” are, in Greek of the New Testament propheteuo (prof-ate-yoo'-o), meaning to foretell events, speak under divine inspiration, exercise the prophetic office; and in Old Testament Hebrew, naba' (naw-ɓaw') which means to prophesy, i.e., speak (or sing) by inspiration (in prediction or simple discourse). Keeping this in mind, we see the various ways in which these words have been translated in God’s Word. This review of the way these words have been used provides to us an indicator of what the word “to prophesy” can mean. Some of the ways that these words have been used are:

o   To call out in the name of 'god'

§  1 Kings 18:29 - the prophets of Baal called out to their god.

o   To speak forth; i.e., to speak to others or to address people on a particular topic. But this does not mean that anything and everything a "Prophet" speaks is necessarily a "prophecy" or is from God; rather only that which God asks Him to speak or do is actually a “prophecy”. Moreover, neither is God obliged to do whatever a "Prophet" may speak in his own will or wisdom or understanding (e.g., Nathan concurring and advising David to build the Temple, which was immediately rejected by God – 1 Chronicles 17:1-4), but God will fulfil only that which He specifically has said and asked the Prophet to say to the people on His behalf.

§   1 Corinthians 14:3 - to edify, to exhort and to comfort men by their words. Not necessarily fore-tell the future events.

§  Ezekiel 37:4, 9-10 - Speak and execute God's command.

§  Amos 3:8 - To speak under the influence or guidance of of God.

o   To speak to reveal a hidden thing

§  Luke 22:64 - in mocking Lord Jesus ask Him to prophesy who struck Him

o   To speak to foretell the coming events

§  Ezekiel 36:1, 3, 6; 37:12-14 - foretell of the coming blessing and deliverance

§  To sing and worship, including playing musical instruments

§  1 Chronicles 25:1-6 - people separated and appointed by David for this ministry

    From these few examples of the way the words translated as “prophecy” in English have been used in the original Hebrew and Greek languages, it is apparent that more than one meaning have been ascribed to these words, not every time is the “prophecy” of divine origin, nor is it always “God’s Word”, and it does not necessarily mean telling about things or events to happen in the future. Therefore, we need to be very cautious and discerning when people try to impress and impose upon us their own thoughts as a “divine prophecy”.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

     परमेश्वर के वचन में, 1 यूहन्ना 4:2-3 में लिखा है, “परमेश्वर का आत्मा तुम इसी रीति से पहचान सकते हो, कि जो कोई आत्मा मान लेती है, कि यीशु मसीह शरीर में हो कर आया है वह परमेश्वर की ओर से है। और जो कोई आत्मा यीशु को नहीं मानती, वह परमेश्वर की ओर से नहीं; और वही तो मसीह के विरोधी की आत्मा है; जिस की चर्चा तुम सुन चुके हो, कि वह आने वाला है: और अब भी जगत में है।” यहाँ पर मूल यूनानी भाषा के जिस शब्द का अनुवाद “मान लेना” किया गया है, वह सामान्य मसीही संदर्भ में प्रयोग होने वाले “अंगीकार” शब्द से भिन्न है। मसीही सन्दर्भ में “अंगीकार” शब्द का अर्थ होता है “पश्चातापी मन के साथ पापों को मान लेना, बुराई के लिए पछताना।” किन्तु यहाँ पर यूनानी शब्द ‘होमोलोजियो’ का अनुवाद “मान लेना” किया गया है; और इस शब्द का अर्थ होता है ‘स्वीकृति देना, या सहमत होना, या मान्यता देना।’ इसीलिए कुछ अंग्रेज़ी अनुवादों जैसे कि NIV ने यहाँ पर ‘acknowledge – मान्यता देना’ प्रयोग किया है।

English Translation

Why demons do not confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh?

    In God’s Word, it says in 1 John 4:2-3 “By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” The word “confess” that has been used here is not in the general Christian sense like for “confession of sins”, i.e., acceptance with remorse for doing the wrong and having a penitent attitude for it. Rather, the word that has here been translated into English as “confess”, in the original Greek language, is “homolgeo”, which means to give assent to, or to agree with, or to acknowledge something. Therefore, some translations, e.g., the NIV, use “acknowledge” instead of confess in these verses.

     There is no forgiveness of sins and redemption for the demons, and there is no sense of remorse and penitence for sins in them. So, it makes no sense for them to “confess” anything that can be redemptive or forgiving for them, from the Lord Jesus. Rather, they are against God, against Christ Jesus, and against salvation of the sinners; hence they are called “the spirit of Antichrist.”

     The aim and work of demons is to draw people away from the Lord Jesus, to prevent the people from coming to know and learn the gospel, to have and accept the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 4:4). To accomplish this, they do whatever they can, including spreading lies, misinformation, deceptions, misinterpretations and misuse of God’s Word, etc., so that somehow people would not believe in the Lord Jesus and be saved.

    One of their lies is to use various kinds of arguments to preach and spread the deception that the Lord Jesus did not come in the flesh as a human being, therefore, He could not have taken the sins of mankind upon Himself and suffered for them, paid for them in His flesh. Thereby they attempt to negate the gospel. If the gospel is shown as false to people, then they will also be drawn away from it into thinking that there is no point believing it or accepting it, and will not come to the Lord Jesus for salvation. And this will accomplish their purpose.

    That is why demons do not confess, i.e., assent or acknowledge, that Jesus Christ came in the flesh as a man.

        प्रभु यीशु मसीह में उनके मानवीय माता-पिता यूसुफ और मरियम का डीएनए नहीं है, इसलिए मानवीय पाप स्वभाव भी नहीं है। ध्यान कीजिए, आदम और हव्वा, उनकी सृष्टि के समय से ही निष्पाप और सिद्ध थे; जब तक कि शैतान ने उन्हें बहका कर उन से पाप नहीं करवा दिया; और उस पाप ने उन में यह विकार, यह पाप स्वभाव उत्पन्न किया। इसलिए यह पूर्णतः संभव है कि मनुष्य भी हों और निष्पाप भी हों, पाप स्वभाव से रहित भी हों, जैसे आदम और हव्वा उनके पाप में गिराए जाने से पहले थे।

English Translation

Why doesn’t Jesus have human DNA?

    The Lord Jesus had neither Joseph’s, nor Mary’s DNA; therefore there was no human sin nature in Him. Remember, Adam and Eve were created sinless and perfect; till Satan beguiled them into sinning, and brought imperfection and sin nature within them. Therefore, it is possible to be fully human, and yet be without sin, or without a sin nature, as Adam and Eve were before their fall.

    Now see Matthew 1:18 and 20, where it very clearly says that the Lord Jesus, in the womb of Mary, was conceived not of any human being, not through or because of any human being, but of the Holy Spirit, i.e., neither Joseph nor Mary had any role in His being conceived or being brought into the womb to grow. And, this was before Joseph and Mary “came together” (Matthew 1:18). So as an embryo in the womb of Mary, the Lord Jesus had no DNA of any human with a sin nature or sin.

    Come to Hebrews 10:5 - where the conversation of the Lord Jesus with God the Father before His coming to earth is recorded. The Lord Jesus makes a very important statement here - “But a body You have prepared for Me”; i.e., God had prepared a human body for the Lord Jesus, which was placed in Mary’s womb and into which the Lord Jesus entered, to be born as a perfect, sinless human being, without any sin or sin nature, nor having any sinful human’s DNA. 

    It was necessary for the Lord to be so born, so it could truthfully be said of Him that He suffered everything like any other human being, yet remained sinless (Hebrews 4:15). To be our sin-substitute and redeemer, the Lord Jesus even suffered being confined to a human womb, and the pains of being born in the manner of a human being, then the pains and problems of growing up, living, and suffering all things. In other words, He went through everything like any other human being, from conception till His death on the Cross of Calvary, for us.

    The Creator of this universe, by whom and for whom everything was created (Colossians 1:16), who brought creation into existence by His spoken Word (Genesis 1), did not ever exercise this authority for Himself or any benefit for self, but emptied Himself of all His power and authority and took the form of a man, became obedient unto death to God the Father, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:6-8), so that we can be restored and reconciled back into fellowship with God (Romans 5:1, 11), and be transformed bit by bit into His likeness by the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18).

    So, He was fully man, fully God, fully perfect, and fully our redeemer and Savior God.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

मृत्यु के प्रति सही मसीही रवैया क्या है?

    सामान्यतः संसार के सभी लोगों में, वे चाहे किसी भी धर्म अथवा मान्यता के हों, मृत्यु के प्रति एक भय का रवैया देखा जाता है। लोग मृत्यु के बारे में बात नहीं करना चाहते हैं, अनिश्चित होते हैं, जितना संभव हो सके मृत्यु को टालना चाहते हैं। नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी भी सामान्यतः यही रवैया रखते हैं, यद्यपि उनके प्रचार और शिक्षाओं में एक भिन्न ही बात कही जाती है। प्रभु यीशु मसीह के पुनरुत्थान ने प्रत्येक नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को इस बात का आश्वासन दिया है कि उनके लिए मृत्यु जीवन का अन्त नहीं है। परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल की शिक्षा है कि जो प्रभु में हैं, वे एक दिन उसके साथ, उसके समान जी भी उठेंगे (यूहन्ना 11:25-26; 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:19-22; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 4:13-18); और शारीरिक मृत्यु के बाद का मसीह यीशु के साथ का जीवन इस पृथ्वी के जीवन से कहीं अधिक भला है (यशायाह 57:1; फिलिप्पियों 1:23; प्रकाशितवाक्य 7:14-17)। प्रभु यीशु ने हमारे लिए मृत्यु सहन कर के न केवल हमें पापों से क्षमा दी और हमारा मेल-मिलाप परमेश्वर से करवाया है (रोमियों 5:8-11), वरन शैतान की मृत्यु की ताकत को भी हमेशा के लिए तोड़ दिया है और अपने विश्वासियों को मृत्यु के भय से छुड़ा लिया है (इब्रानियों 2:14-15)। लेकिन फिर भी एक आम मसीही विश्वासी मृत्यु को लेकर संसार के अन्य लोगों के समान ही रवैया रखता है, और मृत्यु से डरता है।

    एक नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को, संसार के लोगों के समान मृत्यु से डरने और संसार के लोगों के समान उससे बचने के प्रयास और उपाय करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है, किन्तु साथ ही उसे मृत्यु को लेकर मूर्खतापूर्ण व्यवहार और रवैया भी नहीं रखना चाहिए। प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के द्वारा उसे प्रदान की गई आयु को इस प्रकार से पूरा जीना चाहिए कि उसके जीवन से परमेश्वर की महिमा हो तथा मसीह यीशु में लाए गए विश्वास के द्वारा पापों की क्षमा और उद्धार के सुसमाचार का भी प्रचार और प्रसार हो। उसके किसी भी कार्य अथवा व्यवहार लोगों को, विशेष कर अविश्वासी लोगों को, प्रभु के पीछे चलने के प्रति कदापि कोई संदेह नहीं करना चाहिए, अथवा पीछे नहीं हटना चाहिए। इस सिद्धान्त का एक उत्तम उदाहरण है शैतान द्वारा की गई प्रभु यीशु की दूसरी परीक्षा (मत्ती 4:5-7), जिस में शैतान प्रभु से कहता है कि वह अपने आप को मन्दिर की चोटी से गिरा दे। यदि प्रभु यीशु ने यह किया होता, तो निश्चय ही उसे शारीरिक रीति से न तो कोई चोट लगती और न ही कोई हानि होती; किन्तु उसके इस कार्य के कारण उसके बारे में लोगों पर क्या प्रभाव पड़ता, और लोग उसकी मानसिक स्थिति, विचार और व्यवहार आदि के बारे में क्या सोचते? उसके ऐसा करने के बाद कितने लोग  उसके पीछे चलने और उसे उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने के इच्छुक होते?

    मसीही विश्वासियों में भी संसार के लोगों के समान ही मृत्यु का भय देखे जाने का एक और कारण है कि हर कोई जो अपने आप को मसीही विश्वासी कहता है, वह बाइबल की परिभाषा के अनुसार (प्रेरितों 11:26) वास्तव में, मसीही विश्वासी नहीं होता है, अर्थात मसीह यीशु का सच्चा और पूर्णतः समर्पित शिष्य जो प्रभु और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता को अपने जीवन में प्रथम स्थान देता है। क्योंकि ये लोग वास्तव में वे नहीं होते हैं, जिन्हें बाइबल मसीही कहती है, इसलिए मसीही विश्वासी के सभी गुण और व्यवहार भी उनके जीवनों में दिखाई नहीं देते हैं। किन्तु क्योंकि ये लोग अपने आप को मसीही कहते हैं, इसलिए उनके जीवन, कार्य, और व्यवहार के कारण बहुत से लोग मसीह यीशु और मसीही जीवन के लिए ठोकर खाते हैं। इस प्रकार के लोग, अपने उद्धार के लिए अनिश्चित होते हैं और प्रभु के सामने न्याय के लिए खड़े होने और अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने से डरते हैं, और अपने अन्दर मृत्यु और उसके बाद होने वाली बातों के प्रति वही भय रखते हैं जो संसार का कोई भी व्यक्ति सामान्यतः रखता है।

    एक तीसरा प्रमुख कारण हो सकता है ‘अनजाने का भय।’ यह सच है कि उन मसीही विश्वासियों ने मृत्यु के बाद स्वर्ग में प्रभु परमेश्वर के साथ परम-आनन्द में होने के बारे में पढ़ा, सुना, और सीखा है; किन्तु उन्होंने इस सत्य को अपने जीवन में लागू नहीं किया है; मृत्यु के बाद की स्थिति अभी भी उनके लिए एक अनजानी सी बात है, इसलिए वे उस ‘अनजाने’ से डरते हैं, उसका सामना करना नहीं चाहते हैं। इसे एक उदाहरण के दवा समझिए – किसी इलाज के लिए सुई या इंजेक्शन लगवाना। अधिकांश लोग, वयस्क भी, सुई लगवाने से बहुत डरते हैं। यद्यपि उन्होंने इसके बारे में पढ़ा और सुना होगा, कई बार देखा भी होगा, तथा साथ ही उनके दोस्त-रिश्तेदार और सुई लगाने वाले भी उन्हें समझाते और आश्वस्त करते हैं कि यह उतनी पीड़ादायक बात नहीं है जितनी कि वे समझ रहे हैं; लेकिन फिर भी सुई लगवाते समय बहुत से लोग बच्चों के समान व्यवहार करते हैं, मानो कोई बहुत भारी कष्टदायक कार्य होने वाला है। चाहे सुई लग जाने के बाद वे यह मान लें कि जितना उन्होंने सोचा था, यह उतना पीड़ादायक कदापि नहीं था। उसी प्रकार से मृत्यु के बाद की स्थिति के बारे में जानकारी रखने वाले भी कई बार बाइबल के तथ्यों पर कम और पानी कल्पनाओं तथा औरों से सूनी-सुनाई बातों पर अधिक भरोसा करते हैं, जो उनके व्यवहार से दिखाई देता है।

    मसीही विश्वासी के मृत्यु के प्रति भय का दृष्टिकोण रखने का एक चौथा कारण हो सकता है कि यद्यपि वे वास्तव में नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी हैं, लेकिन अभी भी वे प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तैयार नहीं हैं। उनके जीवन में अभी भी ऐसी बातें हैं जिन्हें प्रभु पसंद नहीं करता है, और उनके कारण वे प्रभु के सामने आने से कतराते हैं। और इसीलिए, जब तक संभव हो वह इस घड़ी को, संसार के अन्य लोगों के समान ही, टालते रहना चाहते हैं, क्योंकि वे यह जानते हैं कि हिसाब तो लिया जाएगा,और उन्हें देना भी होगा।

    लेकिन नया जन्म पाए हुए वे मसीही विश्वासी जो प्रभु परमेश्वर तथा उसके वचन पर पूरा भरोसा रखते हैं, तथा अपने आप को कभी भी प्रभु के पास बुलाए जाने के लिए तैयार बनाए रखते हैं, वे मृत्यु से नहीं डरते हैं। वे मृत्यु के शीघ्रता से आने के लिए कार्य नहीं करते हैं, किन्तु जब आएगी, तो उसे स्वीकार करने से भी नहीं घबराते हैं।

English Translation

What is a proper Christian Attitude towards death?

    Generally speaking, all kinds of people all over the world, whichever religion or belief they may be following, have an attitude of fear towards death. People don't like to talk about death, are uncertain and apprehensive about it, and try to postpone death as much as they possibly can. The Born-Again Christian Believers too often have a similar attitude, although in their preaching and teaching they are taught something much different from this. The resurrection of the Lord Jesus has assured every Christian Believer that death is not the end of life for them. It is the teaching of the God's Word, the Bible, that those who are in Christ, one day they too will be resurrected like the Lord Jesus (John 11:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15:19-22; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18); and the life after physical death is far better than the life on this earth (Isaiah 57:1; Philippians 1:23; Revelation 7:14-17). By suffering death for us, the Lord Jesus has not only provided us forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God (Romans 5:8-11), but also has forever broken the bondage of Satan that he exercised through the fear of death, and has delivered His Believers from it (Hebrews 2:14-15). But still, an average Christian Believer exhibits an attitude similar to the people of the world regarding death, and is afraid of facing it.

    A truly Born-Again Christian Believer, has no reason to fear and make efforts to avoid death as the people of the world do; but neither should he be foolhardy about death.  He should take every precaution to fulfill his God-given life span in a manner that not only glorifies God but also witnesses for God and for salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. None of his actions or way of life should make others, especially non-believers, step back or step away from following Christ. We see this well illustrated in the second temptation of Christ by Satan (Matthew 4:5-7), where Satan asks Christ to throw Himself down from the pinnacle of the temple. For sure, had the Lord Jesus thrown Himself down, He wouldn’t have suffered any physical hurt or injury; but what impression would it have conveyed to the crowd about His mental stability, thinking, and behavior? How many would have liked to follow Him, had he done that?

    Another major factor because of which fear of death is seen amongst the Christian Believers is that all those who call themselves Christians are not really Christians, as defined by the Bible (Acts 11:26), i.e., true, committed disciples of the Lord Jesus who accord Him the primary place and obedience in their lives. Since they are not the people that the Bible actually calls Christians, therefore, all attributes and characteristics of being a Christian are also not evident in their lives. Yet, because they call themselves Christians, therefore many are made to stumble about Lord Jesus and are misled about Christian Faith and living, by their lives. Within themselves they are apprehensive of and unsure of their salvation, of being able to stand before the Lord and give an account of their lives; therefore, it is only natural and expected that they would be afraid of death and what follows after that.

    A third factor can be the fear of the unknown. Yes, theoretically they have learned, read, and known about going to heaven and being in bliss with the Lord, once their life on earth comes to an end. But they have not yet applied this truth in their lives; they still have the fear of the unknown, what will actually happen once they die, and so they remain afraid of death. Understand it through an example - of having to take an injection for some treatment. Most people, even adults, are terrified of taking an injection. Although they may have read, heard, seen many times that it is actually not as painful a thing as they imagine it to be; and those giving them the injection, as well as their relatives or friends may be saying the same to them at the time they have to receive the injection. But still, many throw tantrums and behave as if it is like torturing them, or that some great harm is being done to them. Although after it is done, they will admit that the experience wasn’t as painful as they had imagined it would be. Similarly, many are afraid of death, because of their own imaginations or things they may have heard from others, and that is then seen in their behavior.

    A fourth reason can be that though they are Born-Again Christian Believers, they are not really prepared and ready to face the Lord and give an account of their lives to Him. There are still things in their lives that are not pleasing to the Lord, and they don't want to face the Lord while those things are in them. Therefore, they want to postpone it till as far as they possibly can, and remain afraid of death, knowing that accountability will follow.

    But the truly Born-Again Christian Believers, who trust the Lord and His Word, who live in submission and obedience to Him, always keep themselves prepared and ready to be called home to the Lord, whenever he decides to do so, and are not afraid of dying. Though they will not hasten death for themselves, they will also not be afraid of embracing it, as and when it comes.
