व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन के निर्देशों में से हम प्रेरितों 2:42 में दिए गए मसीही जीवन के चार में से तीसरे स्तम्भ, “रोटी तोड़ना” के बारे में 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 से देख रहे हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने पद 26 में, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के साथ ही प्रभु की मृत्यु का प्रचार करने, यानि गवाह होने के बारे में देखा था। हमने समझा था कि यह वैकल्पिक नहीं है; जो भी प्रभु भोज में भाग लेगा, वह स्वतः ही प्रभु की मृत्यु का प्रचार करने वाला, अर्थात प्रभु की मृत्यु की गवाही देने वाला भी हो जाएगा। साथ ही हमने इससे सम्बन्धित दो और महत्वपूर्ण बातें भी देखी थीं। पहली बात यह है कि झूठे गवाह या साक्षी के लिए, नीतिवचन में कुछ बहुत गम्भीर चेतावनियाँ दी गई हैं। अर्थात जो प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेता है और उसका जीवन प्रभु की मृत्यु की गवाही नहीं देता है, वह अपने आप को इन गम्भीर चेतावनियों की सीमाओं में ले आता है, और अपने आप को परमेश्वर से आशीष का नहीं वरन दण्ड का भागी बना लेता है। दूसरी बात है कि मसीही विश्वासी को उचित रीति से, प्रभु की मृत्यु की गवाही का जीवन जीते हुए, मेज़ में भाग लेना है। उसके द्वारा मेज़ में भाग न लेने से वह गवाह होने की इस ज़िम्मेदारी से बचता नहीं है; बल्कि प्रभु की अनाज्ञाकारिता का दोषी बन जाता है, और एक बार फिर परमेश्वर से आशीष का नहीं दण्ड का भागी हो जाता है। आज हम यहीं से आगे बढ़ते हुए, प्रभु की मृत्यु का प्रचार करने, यानि उसकी मृत्यु के गवाह होने के बारे में देखेंगे।
4. प्रभु-भोज के लिए प्रभु के निर्देश - उद्देश्य - पद 26 - (भाग 5)
हम परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में प्रभु की मृत्यु से सम्बन्धित कुछ पदों के द्वारा यह समझेंगे कि मसीही विश्वासी के लिए उस मृत्यु का प्रचार करने, या उस मृत्यु की गवाही देने से क्या अभिप्राय है। पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, प्रेरित पौलुस ने कुरिन्थुस के मसीही विश्वासियों को लिखी दूसरी पत्री में लिखा “और वह इस निमित्त सब के लिये मरा, कि जो जीवित हैं, वे आगे को अपने लिये न जीएं परन्तु उसके लिये जो उन के लिये मरा और फिर जी उठा” (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15)। इसी बात को, मसीही विश्वासी की देह के पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर होने के सन्दर्भ में इन शब्दों में कहा गया है “क्या तुम नहीं जानते, कि तुम्हारी देह पवित्रात्मा का मन्दिर है; जो तुम में बसा हुआ है और तुम्हें परमेश्वर की ओर से मिला है, और तुम अपने नहीं हो?” (1 कुरिन्थियों 6:19)। और पिता परमेश्वर की ओर से यह निर्देश है कि उसकी आशीषें पाने के लिए, उसके लोगों को अपने आप को संसार और संसार की बातों से अलग करना होगा “इसलिये प्रभु कहता है, कि उन के बीच में से निकलो और अलग रहो; और अशुद्ध वस्तु को मत छूओ, तो मैं तुम्हें ग्रहण करूंगा। और तुम्हारा पिता हूंगा, और तुम मेरे बेटे और बेटियां होगे: यह सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु परमेश्वर का वचन है” (2 कुरिन्थियों 6:17-18)। अर्थात, त्रिएक परमेश्वर के तीनों रूप, पिता, पुत्र और पवित्र आत्मा, इस पूर्ण अलगाव, समर्पण और आज्ञाकारिता की मांग करते हैं। जितनों ने प्रभु यीशु को उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार किया है, उसमें विश्वास करके, अपने आप को उसे समर्पित किया है, अब उनके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि वे अपना जीवन अब प्रभु के लिए जीएँ। उनके जीवन की हर बात, हर पक्ष, हर निर्णय को परमेश्वर की महिमा ही के लिए होना है जैसा कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:31 में लिखा है “सो तुम चाहे खाओ, चाहे पीओ, चाहे जो कुछ करो, सब कुछ परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिये करो।” इसी पूर्ण समर्पण को बलिदान हो जाने और बुद्धि तथा जीवन के बदल जाने के समान भी व्यक्त किया गया है “इसलिये हे भाइयों, मैं तुम से परमेश्वर की दया स्मरण दिला कर बिनती करता हूं, कि अपने शरीरों को जीवित, और पवित्र, और परमेश्वर को भावता हुआ बलिदान कर के चढ़ाओ: यही तुम्हारी आत्मिक सेवा है। और इस संसार के सदृश न बनो; परन्तु तुम्हारी बुद्धि के नये हो जाने से तुम्हारा चाल-चलन भी बदलता जाए, जिस से तुम परमेश्वर की भली, और भावती, और सिद्ध इच्छा अनुभव से मालूम करते रहो” (रोमियों 12:1-2)।
यह पूर्ण समर्पण और संसार से अलगाव का जीवन जीना, उद्धार पाने के बाद मसीही विश्वासी पर अनायास ही थोपी गई कोई नई बात नहीं है। हमने पहले के लेखों में देखा था कि प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित सात बातें दी गई हैं, जिनमें से पहली तीन बातें पतरस द्वारा भक्त यहूदियों को किए गए प्रचार में दी गई हैं। पतरस द्वारा कही गई उन तीन बातों में से तीसरी बात है “उसने बहुत और बातों में भी गवाही दे देकर समझाया कि अपने आप को इस टेढ़ी जाति से बचाओ” (प्रेरितों 2:40); अर्थात, संसार से अलगाव का जीवन जीना होगा। तात्पर्य यह, कि प्रभु को जीवन समर्पण करने, उद्धार पाने के लिए दिए गए निर्देशों में पहले ही यह स्पष्ट कर दिया गया है कि जो प्रभु से जुड़ते हैं, उन्हें संसार से अलग होना पड़ेगा। प्रभु यीशु की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के दौरान, प्रभु ने इस अलगाव के लिए बारम्बार कहा है। फरीसियों के सरदार नीकुदेमुस से प्रभु ने स्पष्ट कह दिया कि नया जन्म पाए बिना, अर्थात संसार से अलग होकर परमेश्वर के राज्य में जन्म लिए बिना, वह परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश तो दूर, उसे देख भी नहीं सकता है (यूहन्ना 3:3, 5)। अनन्त जीवन का मार्ग जानने के लिए प्रभु के पास आए उस धर्मी जवान व्यक्ति से प्रभु ने कहा कि पहले उसे अपनी सांसारिक धन-सम्पत्ति कंगालों में बाँटनी होगी - संसार से अलगाव, और फिर उसे प्रभु के पीछे चलना पड़ेगा (मरकुस 10:21)। प्रभु लोगों को चँगाई देने के बाद चँगा होने वालों से कहा करता था कि वे फिर पाप न करें। प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा था कि उसके पीछे चलने के लिए उन्हें अपने सांसारिक परिवार से, तथा अपने जीवन से भी बढ़कर प्रभु से प्रेम करना होगा (मत्ती 10:32-39)।
इसलिए, पौलुस प्रेरित द्वारा 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:26 में, प्रभु की मेज़ भाग लेने वाले को मसीह की मृत्यु का प्रचार करने वाला भी होना बता देना, कोई नई शर्त नहीं है, वरन प्रभु की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के समय से चली आ रही बात को भिन्न शब्दों में व्यक्त करना है। पौलुस ने अपने द्वारा इस बात के निर्वाह को यह कहकर व्यक्त किया “मैं मसीह के साथ क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया हूं, और अब मैं जीवित न रहा, पर मसीह मुझ में जीवित है: और मैं शरीर में अब जो जीवित हूं तो केवल उस विश्वास से जीवित हूं, जो परमेश्वर के पुत्र पर है, जिसने मुझ से प्रेम किया, और मेरे लिये अपने आप को दे दिया” (गलतियों 2:20)। प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वाले, इस अभिप्राय के साथ भाग लेते हैं कि वे प्रभु के शिष्य हैं, प्रभु के साथ चलने वाले लोग हैं। और प्रभु के शिष्यों को, प्रभु के साथ चलने वाले लोगों को रोमियों 6 अध्याय (इसे बहुत ध्यान से तथा गम्भीरता से पढ़िए) का भी पालन करना है; अन्यथा वे झूठे साक्षी या झूठे गवाह ठहरेंगे। इसलिए, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने की गम्भीरता और ज़िम्मेदारियों को समझे बिना, उस में यूं ही, हल्के में ही भाग ले लेना, स्वयं के लिए बहुत बड़ी परेशानी को खड़ी कर लेना है।
अगले लेख में हम पाँचवें बिन्दु, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के तरीके पर विचार आरम्भ करेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 3 - Breaking of Bread (9)

From the instructions given in God's Word for practical Christian living, we are looking from 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, about the third of the four pillars of the Christian life given in Acts 2:42, “the breaking of bread.” In the previous article we saw from verse 26 that by partaking of the Lord's table we also proclaim, i.e., witness about the Lord's death. We understood how doing this was not optional. Whosoever participates in the Holy Communion, automatically also becomes one who has to proclaim the Lord's death, i.e., has also to witness about the Lord's death. Moreover, we also saw two other important things related to this. The first thing is that there are some very serious warnings given in Proverbs about being false witnesses. Implying that, anyone who partakes of the Lord's Table, but his life does not bear witness to the Lord's death, brings himself within the purview of these grave warnings, and makes himself a partaker not of any blessings from God but of punishment. The second thing is that the Christian Believer is to participate in the table appropriately, by living a life that testifies of the Lord's death. Not participating in the Table does not absolve him of this responsibility of being a witness; rather, he then becomes guilty of disobeying the Lord, and once again becomes liable for punishment rather than blessings from God. Today we will continue from here and look further about preaching the Lord's death, i.e., being a witness to His death.
4. The Lord's instructions for the Lord's Table - Purpose - verses 26 - (Part 5)
To understand what it means for the Christian Believer to proclaim about, or to bear witness of the death of the Lord Jesus, we will consider some related verses from God's Word, the Bible. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Paul wrote in his second letter to the Corinthian Believers "and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again" (2 Corinthians 5:15). The same thing is said in the context of the Christian Believer's body being the temple of the Holy Spirit "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" (1 Corinthians 6:19). And it is also the instruction from God the Father, to receive His blessings, His people must separate themselves from the world and the things of the world "Therefore Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty" (2 Corinthians 6:17-18). That is, all three persons of the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, demand this complete separation, submission, and obedience from the Christian Believer. All those who have accepted the Lord Jesus as Savior, have believed in Him, and have surrendered themselves to Him, it is mandatory for them to live their lives for the Lord. Everything in their lives, every aspect, every decision is to be for the glory of God as it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:31 "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." This complete surrender has also been expressed as being a living sacrifice and having a renewed mind and life "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:1-2).
This life of complete submission and separation from the world is not something new that is unexpectedly imposed upon the Christian Believer after salvation. We saw in earlier articles that Acts 2 contains seven points related to practical Christian living, the first three of which were given in Peter's sermon to devout Jews. The third of the three things that Peter said is "And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation" (Acts 2:40); i.e., one will have to live a life of separation from the world. The implication is that while instructing one to surrender one's life to the Lord to be saved, it has already been made clear that those who join the Lord will have to separate from the world. During the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ, the Lord has repeatedly called for this separation. The Lord clearly told Nicodemus, the leader of the Pharisees, that unless he is Born-Again, i.e., is separated out from the world and born into the Kingdom of God, he cannot even see the Kingdom of God, much less enter it (John 3:3, 5). The Lord told the devout young man who came to the Lord seeking the way to eternal life that he must first share his worldly possessions with the poor – separation from the world, and then he must come to follow the Lord (Mark 10:21). After healing people, the Lord used to tell those who were healed not to sin again. The Lord told His disciples that to follow Him they must love the Lord more than their worldly family and their own lives (Matthew 10:32-39).
Therefore, the apostle Paul's saying in 1 Corinthians 11:26 that anyone partaking of the Lord's Table must also be a preacher of Christ's death is not giving a new requirement, but something that goes back to the Lord's earthly ministry, merely being expressed in some different words. Paul expressed his fulfilling this in his life by saying "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me" (Galatians 2:20). Those who partake of the Lord's table participate with the understanding that they are the Lord's disciples, people who walk with the Lord. And the disciples of the Lord, or, the people who walk with the Lord, also have to follow what is written in Romans chapter 6 (please read it very carefully and seriously); else they will be false witnesses. Therefore, to partake of the Lord's Table casually, without understanding the seriousness and responsibilities of partaking of it, is to create serious trouble for yourself.
In the next article we will begin to consider the fifth point, how to partake of the Lord's table.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
