मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 3 - प्रभु-भोज (11)
व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन जीने के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा अपने वचन में दिए गए निर्देशों में से चार निर्देश हमें प्रेरितों 2:42 में मिलते हैं। ये चारों वे निर्देश हैं, जिनका पालन आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी लौलीन होकर किया करते थे। फलस्वरूप वे अपने आत्मिक जीवन और विश्वास में उन्नत होते चले गए, उनकी सँख्या में तेज़ी से वृद्धि हुई, और कलीसियाएं भी स्थापित होती चली गईं। लौलीन होकर इनका पालन करने से मसीही विश्वासियों के आत्मिक जीवनों और विश्वास पर इनके सकारात्मक, और स्थिरता एवं दृढ़ता प्रदान करने के प्रभाव के कारण, इन चारों को “मसीही जीवन के स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है। बाइबल अध्ययन की अपनी इस वर्तमान श्रृंखला में हम इन चारों में से तीसरे स्तम्भ, “रोटी तोड़ना,” अर्थात प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने पर विचार कर रहे हैं। सुसमाचारों में दिए गए प्रभु द्वारा प्रभु की मेज़ की स्थापना के वृतान्त के अतिरिक्त, इस विषय पर मुख्य शिक्षाएं 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 पद में मिलती हैं; जिन्हें हम सात बिन्दुओं के अन्तर्गत देख रहे हैं। हम अभी तक पहले चार बिन्दुओं के अन्तर्गत पद 26 तक विचार कर चुके हैं, और पिछले लेख से हमने पाँचवें बिन्दु के अन्तर्गत पद 27-28 पर विचार आरम्भ किया है। पिछले लेख के अध्ययन का निष्कर्ष है कि सुसमाचार के वृतान्त में प्रभु द्वारा दी गई विधि, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने की वचन के अनुसार सही विधि है, और इसे बदलना नहीं है। और, 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-26 में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने मसीही विश्वासियों में जो गलतियाँ दिखाई हैं, उनके साथ मेज़ में भाग लेना, वही अनुचित रीति से भाग लेना है। जो प्रभु की मेज़ में अनुचित रीति से भाग लेते हैं, वे प्रभु की देह और लहू के अपराधी ठहरते हैं; जैसा हमारे वर्तमान पाँचवें बिन्दु के खण्ड, पद 27-28 में लिखा है। और इससे अगले दो पद, पद 29-30 बताते हैं कि अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने वाले, स्वयं ही, अपने ऊपर दण्ड लाते हैं। तात्पर्य यह कि अनुचित रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने और परमेश्वर से दण्ड का भागी होने से बचने के लिए, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वालों को अपने आप को जाँचते और सुधारते हुए, 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-26 में दी गई गलतियों से बचकर रहना होगा। आज हम इसी बात को, इन्हीं दो पदों के आधार पर, और आगे देखेंगे।
5. प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेना - पद 27-28 - (भाग 2)
यह एक सामान्य मानव-प्रवृत्ति है कि वह अपनी गलतियों के लिए किसी अन्य को दोषी ठहराने का प्रयास करता है। यह प्रवृत्ति अदन की वाटिका में, मनुष्यों में पाप के प्रवेश के साथ ही उसमें आ गई थी। परमेश्वर ने आदम और हव्वा को अवसर दिया था कि वे अपने पाप को मान लें, उसके लिए क्षमा माँग लें, किन्तु हव्वा ने सर्प पर दोष लगाया, और आदम ने केवल हव्वा पर ही नहीं, बल्कि परमेश्वर पर भी दोष लगा दिया। पवित्र आत्मा ने, अनुचित रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वाले के द्वारा किसी और को इसके लिए दोषी ठहराने की संभावना को पहले ही रोक दिया है। यहाँ पर पद 27 में, पवित्र आत्मा ने, बिना किसी भी अपवाद अथवा बच निकलने की कोई संभावना दिए हुए, पौलुस प्रेरित के द्वारा यह स्पष्ट लिखवा दिया है कि “इसलिये जो कोई अनुचित रीति से प्रभु की रोटी खाए, या उसके कटोरे में से पीए, वह प्रभु की देह और लहू का अपराधी ठहरेगा।” इसलिए अब यह प्रकट और स्पष्ट है कि प्रत्येक व्यक्ति, प्रभु की मेज़ में अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के लिए, स्वयं ही ज़िम्मेदार है।
प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने वाला व्यक्ति वचन की बातों की जानकारी न होने; कलीसिया की परम्पराओं का पालन करने; पादरी अथवा कलीसिया के अगुवे के कहे के अनुसार करने, आदि बातों का बहाना नहीं बना सकता है। जैसा हम पहले देख चुके हैं, प्रभु की मेज़, प्रभु के लोगों के लिए है; अर्थात केवल उनके लिए जो वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए सच्चे मसीही विश्वासी हैं; अन्य किसी के लिए नहीं। जो वास्तव में नया जन्म पाया हुआ नहीं होने पर भी प्रभु भोज में भाग लेता है, वह तो प्रभु भोज की पहली ही शर्त का उल्लंघन करके, पहले ही दोषी ठहर चुका।
हम देख चुके हैं कि जो मसीही विश्वासी है, उद्धार पाने के पल से ही परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा आकर उसमें निवास करने लग जाता है, कि मसीही जीवन जीने के लिए, उस का सहायक हो और उसे प्रभु यीशु की बातें सिखाए और याद दिलाए (यूहन्ना 14:16, 26)। इसलिए, मसीही विश्वासी द्वारा यह कहना कि उसे पता नहीं था, इस बात का प्रमाण है, उसके द्वारा अपनी इस गलती का अंगीकार है, कि उसने वचन सीखने के लिए उसमें निवास करने वाले पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता ली ही नहीं है; कभी वचन को परमेश्वर से सीखने का प्रयास ही नहीं किया है। यह बात तब और भी गम्भीर हो जाती है जब हम प्रभु द्वारा, उसके शिष्यों के लिए प्रभु के वचन के महत्व को देखते हैं। यूहन्ना 13 अध्याय में प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु भोज की स्थापना की थी। उसी वार्तालाप को आगे ज़ारी रखते हुए, प्रभु यीशु ने अपने उन्हीं शिष्यों से जिनके साथ उसने प्रभु भोज की स्थापना की थी, यह भी कहा, “जिस के पास मेरी आज्ञा है, और वह उन्हें मानता है, वही मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, और जो मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, उस से मेरा पिता प्रेम रखेगा, और मैं उस से प्रेम रखूंगा, और अपने आप को उस पर प्रगट करूंगा।” और “यीशु ने उसको उत्तर दिया, यदि कोई मुझ से प्रेम रखे, तो वह मेरे वचन को मानेगा, और मेरा पिता उस से प्रेम रखेगा, और हम उसके पास आएंगे, और उसके साथ वास करेंगे।” (यूहन्ना 14:21, 23)। अर्थात, जो प्रभु का शिष्य है, जो प्रभु से प्रेम करने का दावा करता है, उसके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि वह प्रभु के वचन से प्रेम करे और उसकी आज्ञाओं को जाने, सीखे, और उनका पालन करे। यदि कोई अपने आप को नया-जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी मानता है, स्वयं को प्रभु का जन और उससे प्रेम करने वाला कहता है, और परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल को पढ़ता और सीखता नहीं है; तो प्रभु के इन वचनों के अनुसार, उसका दावा झूठा है। वह वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी हो ही नहीं सकता है।
अगले लेख में हम यहीं से आगे बढ़ेंगे, और देखेंगे कि यद्यपि आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासियों के पास परमेश्वर का लिखित वचन नहीं था, फिर भी वे मेज़ में कैसे भाग लेते थे। हम कलीसिया की परम्पराओं का निर्वाह करने, पादरी अथवा कलीसिया के अगुवों की बातों का पालन करने के द्वारा प्रभु भोज में अनुचित रीति से भाग ले लेने के दोषी होने के बहाने का परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल की बातों के आधार पर विश्लेषण करेंगे, और वास्तविकता को समझेंगे। उसके बाद फिर प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के लिए अपने आप जाँचने के बारे में देखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 3 - Breaking of Bread (11)
Acts 2:42 provides four of the instructions God has given for practical Christian living in His Word. The early Christians used to steadfastly follow these four instructions. As a result, they continually grew in their spiritual life and faith, their numbers increased rapidly, and increasing numbers of churches were also established. Because of the positive impact they have on the spiritual lives of the Christian Believers, and the stability and strength they provide to their faith, when they are followed diligently, these four instructions are also called the “Pillars of Christian Living.” In our current Bible study series, we are considering the third of these four pillars, “the breaking of bread,” i.e., partaking of the Holy Communion, or the Lord's Table. In addition to the account of the Lord's establishing the Lord's Table given in the gospels, the main teachings on this subject are found in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34; which we are considering under seven points. Till now, under the first four points, we have considered up to verse 26; and from the previous article we have started considering verses 27-28 under the fifth point. We have seen in the previous article that the method given by the Lord in the gospel accounts of partaking of the Lord's Table is the correct method according to God’s Word, and it is not to be changed. And, if anyone partakes of the Lord’s Table with the errors that God the Holy Spirit has shown in 1 Corinthians 11:17-26, he partakes incorrectly. As is written in verses 27-28 of our current fifth point of consideration, those who partake of the Lord's Table unworthily are guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. And the next two verses, verses 29-30, show that those who participate unworthily bring judgment upon themselves. The implication is that in order to avoid partaking of the Lord's table unworthily and thereby incurring God’s judgment, those partaking of the Lord's table are to first examine and correct themselves of the errors given in 1 Corinthians 11:17-26, and stay away from them. Today, on the basis of these two verses, we will look at this further.
5. Partaking in the Holy Communion - verses 27-28 - (Part 2)
It is a normal human tendency to try to blame someone else for one's mistakes. This tendency had come into mankind with the entry of sin, in the Garden of Eden. God had given Adam and Eve the opportunity to confess their sin and ask for forgiveness, but Eve blamed the serpent, and Adam not only blamed Eve, but also God. The Holy Spirit has already preempted the possibility of blaming someone else for improperly partaking of the Lord's Table. Here in verse 27, the Holy Spirit, without giving any exceptions or any possibility of escape, makes it clear through the Apostle Paul "Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord." So now it is evident and clear that every person bears his own responsibility for partaking unworthily of the Lord's Table.
A person partaking of the Lord's Supper may give excuses like, he does not have knowledge of the things of God’s Word; he was only following the church traditions; he was only doing what the pastor or church leader says, etc. but all excuses are unacceptable and vain. We have seen in the earlier articles that the Lord’s Table is only for the truly Born-Again Christian Believers; not for anyone else. Anyone who partakes of the Lord’s Table, without actually being a Born-Again Believer, has made himself guilty of breaking the very first condition for partaking of the Holy Communion, and has already made himself worthy of judgment.
We have also seen that for a Christian Believer, from the moment of his salvation, God's Holy Spirit comes and resides in him, to help him live the Christian life, and to teach him, to bring to his remembrance the things of the Lord Jesus (John 14:16, 26). Therefore, for the Christian Believer to say that he did not know, is providing evidence of his own guilt, that he has not taken the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit to learn the Word of God; has never tried to learn the Word from God. This becomes even more serious when we see the importance of God’s Word, as stated by the Lord to His disciples. The Lord Jesus instituted the Holy Communion in John chapter 13. Then, continuing the same conversation, the Lord Jesus also said to the same disciples with whom He had instituted the Lord's Supper, "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." and "Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him" (John 14:21, 23). So, for one who is a disciple of the Lord, who claims to love the Lord, it is mandatorily required of him to love the Lord's Word, and to know, learn, and obey His commandments. If anyone considers himself to be a Born-Again Christian, claims to belong to the Lord and to love Him, but does not read and study God's Word, the Bible, then according to what the Lord has said, his claim is false. He cannot truly be a Born-Again Christian Believer.
In the next article we will see that although the initial Christian Believers did not have the written Word of God, yet they participated in the Holy Communion worthily. We will also analyze the other excuses, of being guilty of improperly partaking of the Holy Communion, e.g., following church traditions, doing what the pastor or church leaders have said, etc., based on what God's Word says, and understand the truth. Then we'll look at examining ourselves for worthily partaking of the Lord's Table.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
