व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित चार बातें प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई हैं, और उनमें से पहली तीन बातें देखने के बाद अब हम चौथी बात, प्रार्थना करने पर विचार कर रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि प्रार्थना करना केवल परमेश्वर से माँगना, या उसे कुछ करने के लिए कहना नहीं है। वरन प्रार्थना करना, परमेश्वर से बातचीत करना है, उससे अपनी बात कहना, तथा उसकी बात को सुनना और फिर पालन करना है। हमें शैतान की युक्तियों से सुरक्षित रखने के लिए, परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन बाइबल में निर्देश दिए हैं कि उसके लोग हर बात के लिए, निरन्तर उससे प्रार्थना, अर्थात वार्तालाप करते रहें; उसकी इच्छा और निर्देशों के अनुसार करते रहें। पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम प्रार्थना के बारे में एक बहुत आम, किन्तु गलत धारणा, कि परमेश्वर विश्वास से माँगी गई सभी प्रार्थनाओं को पूरा करेगा, के बारे में बाइबल में से सीख रहे थे। इस विषय पर हमने देखा है कि कैसे यह एक अनुचित धारणा है, परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में किन लोगों की और किन बातों से सम्बन्धित प्रार्थनाओं को पूरा करने के लिए कहा है, तथा “विश्वास से प्रार्थना माँगने” का क्या अर्थ होता है। आज से हम बाइबल के उन उदाहरणों को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे, जिनकी अधूरी समझ और गलत व्याख्या के आधार पर यह गलत शिक्षा प्रचार और प्रसार की जाती है कि परमेश्वर विश्वास से माँगी गई सभी प्रार्थनाओं को पूरा करता है।
उन उदाहरणों को देखने, उनका विश्लेषण करने से पहले हमें यह दोहराना और ध्यान कर लेना आवश्यक है कि बाइबल की बातों की गलत व्याख्या और गलत धारणाओं का सबसे आम कारण है बाइबल के किसी भी वाक्यांश, वाक्य, पद, या खण्ड को उसके सन्दर्भ से बाहर लेकर, बिना अन्य सम्बन्धित बातों का ध्यान करे, केवल उसी एकमात्र के आधार पर धारणा बना लेना और फिर उसकी शिक्षा देना। परमेश्वर ने 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21 में लिखवाया है “सब बातों को परखो: जो अच्छी है उसे पकड़े रहो।” अर्थात, शिक्षाओं को मानने से पहले, उन्हें बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान (प्रेरितों 17:11) वचन से परखना, परमेश्वर का निर्देश है। इसका पालन ना करने के कारण ही शैतान को कलीसियाओं में बहुत सी गलत शिक्षाओं को डाल देने का अवसर मिलता है। ध्यान देने और याद रखने के लिए दूसरी और बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात है कि परमेश्वर कभी भी अपने लिखित वचन से बाहर नहीं जाएगा, उससे भिन्न कुछ नहीं करेगा, वचन में दिए हुए के अतिरिक्त किसी के लिए कुछ नया नहीं करेगा। इसलिए परमेश्वर के वास्तविक विश्वासी और सच्चे मन से समर्पित लोगों की भी केवल वही प्रार्थनाएं पूरी होंगी जो परमेश्वर के वचन, उसके गुणों, और उसकी इच्छा के अनुसार हैं; कोई भी अन्य नहीं। पिछले लेखों में, इस विषय से सम्बन्धित एक और बात जो हमने देखी थी, वह थी कि प्रार्थनाओं के सकारात्मक उत्तर से सम्बन्धित आश्वासन प्रभु ने अपने वास्तविक और समर्पित शिष्यों को ही दिए हैं, जन सामान्य को नहीं। इस सन्दर्भ में हम देख चुके हैं कि प्रभु के शिष्य, प्रभु के समान विचार और दृष्टिकोण रखते हैं, और उनमें शिष्यता से सम्बन्धित कुछ गुण होते हैं। इसलिए प्रभु के इन आश्वासनों को हर किसी के लिए मान्य समझना और सिखाना गलत व्याख्या और शिक्षा देना है। इन मुख्य बातों को ध्यान में रखते हुए हम बाइबल में से सम्बन्धित उदाहरणों को देखना आरम्भ करते हैं।
मत्ती 7:7-8 “मांगो, तो तुम्हें दिया जाएगा; ढूंढ़ो, तो तुम पाओगे; खटखटाओ, तो तुम्हारे लिये खोला जाएगा। क्योंकि जो कोई मांगता है, उसे मिलता है; और जो ढूंढ़ता है, वह पाता है और जो खटखटाता है, उसके लिये खोला जाएगा।” और मत्ती 21:21-22 “यीशु ने उन को उत्तर दिया, कि मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं; यदि तुम विश्वास रखो, और सन्देह न करो; तो न केवल यह करोगे, जो इस अंजीर के पेड़ से किया गया है; परन्तु यदि इस पहाड़ से भी कहोगे, कि उखड़ जो; और समुद्र में जा पड़, तो यह हो जाएगा। और जो कुछ तुम प्रार्थना में विश्वास से मांगोगे वह सब तुम को मिलेगा।” ये दोनों ही खण्ड, प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों से कहे हैं, जन सामान्य से नहीं। मत्ती 5 से 7 अध्याय प्रभु द्वारा दिया गया पहाड़ी उपदेश है। इस पहाड़ी उपदेश के आरम्भ में, मत्ती 5:1 में लिखा है “वह इस भीड़ को देखकर, पहाड़ पर चढ़ गया; और जब बैठ गया तो उसके चेले उसके पास आए।” अर्थात इससे आगे की बातें, यह पहाड़ी उपदेश प्रभु ने अपने चेलों को, उन्हें भीड़ से अलग कर लेने के बाद, कही थीं। इसलिए मत्ती 7:7-8 का यह आश्वासन भी प्रभु द्वारा अपने शिष्यों को ही दिया गया है। और इस बात के महत्व को हम ऊपर देख चुके हैं। यद्यपि प्रभु द्वारा पहाड़ी उपदेश समाप्त करने तक अन्य लोग भी वहाँ आ गए थे (मत्ती 7:28), किन्तु प्रभु ने न तो अपने उपदेश के दौरान, और न ही अन्त में, यह कहा कि ये बातें उस भीड़ के लिए भी हैं जिसने इन्हें सुना है। इसी प्रकार मत्ती 21:21-22 की प्रतिज्ञा भी प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों को ही दी थी, जो अंजीर के पेड़ के सूख जाने को देखकर अचंभित हो रहे थे (मत्ती 21:20)। हमने ऊपर देखा है कि प्रभु के वास्तविक और समर्पित शिष्यों में कुछ गुण पाए जाते हैं, जो उन्हें संसार तथा संसार के लोगों से अलग करते हैं। साथ ही जब हम बाइबल में परमेश्वर के लोगों, उसके नबियों, प्रेरितों, सेवकों आदि कि जीवनों, कार्यों, प्रार्थनाओं, आदि को देखते हैं, तो यह प्रकट है कि परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य और आश्चर्यकर्म करने के वरदानों के बावजूद, कभी भी किसी भी परमेश्वर के जन ने अपने स्वार्थ के लिए, या परमेश्वर की मनसा, उसके गुणों, उसके वचन की बातों के बाहर कुछ नहीं किया कुछ नहीं माँगा। अर्थात, यद्यपि प्रभु ने उन्हें पहाड़ उखाड़ कर समुद्र में फेंक देने की भी सामर्थ्य दी, किन्तु किसी ने भी कभी भी ऐसा कोई काम नहीं किया। हमेशा ही जो भी किया वह परमेश्वर के वचन और उसकी इच्छा के अनुसार किया। इसलिए इन दोनों खण्डों के आधार पर यह व्याख्या करना और शिक्षा देना कि प्रभु परमेश्वर ने खुली छूट दी है कि विश्वास में उससे जो भी माँगेंगे, वह उस बात को पूरी करेगा, सही नहीं है; सन्दर्भ तथा वचन की अन्य बातों से, उदाहरणों से सुसंगत नहीं है।
अगले लेख में हम कुछ अन्य उदाहरणों पर विचार करेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (12)
There are four things given in Acts 2:42 related to practical Christian living, and having seen the first three, we are now considering the fourth one, prayer. We have seen that to pray is not merely asking for something from God or asking Him to do something. Rather, to pray is to converse with God, to share what is on our hearts with Him, and listen to what He has to say and then to obey it. To keep us safe from the schemes and ploys of Satan, God in His Word the Bible has given instructions that His people should continually keep praying, i.e., conversing with Him. for the past few articles, we have been considering from the Bible a very common, but false notion, that God has promised to answer every prayer made to Him “in faith.” We have seen a few aspects about this, that it is a wrong notion, the people and the kind of prayers God has promised to answer, and what it means to ask “in faith.” From today we will start considering the Biblical examples that are preached and taught, with an incomplete understanding and misinterpretations, to claim that God fulfills all prayers made to Him “in faith.”
Before we begin to see and analyze those examples, it is essential for us to revise and remind ourselves that the most common cause of misinterpreting and having wrong notions about Biblical things is taking a phrase, or sentence, or verse, or passage out of its context, and then based solely on that to build a notion and start teaching it. God has written in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 “Test all things; hold fast what is good.” In other words, it is God’s instruction that before accepting and following any teachings, as the Berean Believers did (Acts 17:11) check them out using God’s Word. Because of not obeying this instruction, Satan has an easy way to push in many wrong teachings into the churches. Another very important thing to keep in mind is that God never goes outside of what He has written in His Word, never makes any exceptions to it. He will never do anything different or other than what He has written. Therefore, only those prayers of God’s actual Believers and truly submitted disciples are fulfilled, which are in accordance with God’s Word, His attributes, and His will. In the previous articles we have seen another related thing that the assurance for affirmative answers has been made by the Lord only to His actual and truly committed disciples, not to everyone, in general. In this context we have seen that the thinking and view-points of the disciples of the Lord are like the Lord’s, and they exhibit the signs of being a disciple. Therefore, to preach and teach that these assurances of the Lord are applicable for everyone is to misinterpret and give wrong teachings. Keeping these main things in mind, we will now begin considering the related examples from the Bible.
Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” and Matthew 21:21-22 “So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."” Both passages are statements made by the Lord to His disciples, and not to everyone in general. Matthew chapters 5 to 7 is the Sermon on the Mount given by the Lord. At the beginning of this sermon, it is written in Matthew 5:1 “And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him.” In other words, all that is written after this was spoken by the Lord to His disciples, having separated them from the crowd of people. And we have considered the importance of this above. Although, by the time the Lord concluded His sermon, a crowd had gathered there (Matthew 7:28), but neither during the sermon, nor on completing it did the Lord say that what He said is also for the crowd that has heard them. Similarly, the promise of Matthew 21:21-22 was also given by the Lord to His disciples, who were amazed on seeing that the fig tree had dried up (Matthew 21:20). We have seen above that in the actual Believers and the truly committed disciples of the Lord, there are some attributes that make them different from the world and the people of the world. Moreover, when we see in the Bible the lives, works, prayers, etc., of God’s people, His Prophets, Apostles, Ministers, etc., then it is evident that although God had given them the gifts of doing miracles and powerful things, yet none of them ever used this God given power selfishly, nor asked or did anything that was outside of God’s will, attributes, and His Word. In other words, although the Lord had given the disciples the power to uproot the mountain and throw it into the sea, none of the disciples did anything like this. Whatever they did was always in accordance with the will and Word of God. Therefore, to interpret these two passages and teach from them that the Lord God has given an open invitation to everyone that whatever they ask in faith, He will fulfill, is wrong; it is not consistent with the context of these passages, their related things, and other related examples of the Bible.
In the next article we will consider some other examples.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
