मसीही विश्वासी - सदा प्रभु के साथ रहे (2)

पिछले लेख से हमने मरकुस 3:14-15 में दी गई उन तीन बातों के बारे में विचार करना आरम्भ किया है, जो प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों के लिए निर्धारित की हैं; जो आज भी सभी वास्तविक मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए प्रभु की शिष्यता का उद्देश्य हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने पहली बात, कि शिष्य प्रभु के साथ बने रहें के पहले भाग को देखा था। हमने देखा है कि प्रभु के साथ बने रहने में ही मसीही विश्वासी की सुरक्षा है, और व शैतान की युक्तियों से, हानि से बचा रहता है, प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी तथा अपने जीवन में आशीषित रह सकता है। आज हम इसी पहली बात के बार में कुछ और देखेंगे, और प्रभु के साथ बने रहने के महत्व को और आगे की बातों से समझेंगे। 

प्रभु के साथ बने रहने के और भी लाभ हैं। प्रभु ने कहा है “हे सब परिश्रम करने वालों और बोझ से दबे लोगों, मेरे पास आओ; मैं तुम्हें विश्राम दूंगा। मेरा जूआ अपने ऊपर उठा लो; और मुझ से सीखो; क्योंकि मैं नम्र और मन में दीन हूं: और तुम अपने मन में विश्राम पाओगे। क्योंकि मेरा जूआ सहज और मेरा बोझ हल्का है” (मत्ती 11:28-30)। ‘जुआ’ या yoke वह उपकरण होता है जो किसान दो बैलों के द्वारा खेत जोतने के लिए प्रयोग करते हैं; जिसके अगले सिरे पर दो बैलों को साथ जोता जाता है और पिछला सिरे के निचले भाग में हल होता है और ऊपरी भाग किसान के हाथ में नियंत्रण के लिए रहता है। मत्ती 11:28-30 के इस आह्वान के साथ प्रभु अपने विश्वासी जन के साथ, सांसारिकता के भारी जुए के स्थान पर अपने हल्के जुए में होकर जुतना चाह रहा है कि उसके साथ मिलकर, उसकी सहायता करते हुए उसके जीवन भर चल सके। जो प्रभु के साथ जुता रहेगा, वह प्रभु से जीवन की हर बात के लिए शांति, मार्गदर्शन, समाधान, और सहायता भी पाता रहेगा। समस्या तब ही होगी जब मसीही विश्वासी या तो प्रभु के हलके जुए को उतार कर फिर से सांसारिकता के उस भारी जुए में जाकर जुत जाए, जिसमें प्रभु उसके साथ नहीं जुत सकता है, या फिर प्रभु को साथ लिए बिना अकेला ही जुए में लगकर अपनी ही शक्ति और युक्ति से कार्य करने का प्रयास करे।

इसीलिए प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा “तुम मुझ में बने रहो, और मैं तुम में: जैसे डाली यदि दाखलता में बनी न रहे, तो अपने आप से नहीं फल सकती, वैसे ही तुम भी यदि मुझ में बने न रहो तो नहीं फल सकते। मैं दाखलता हूं: तुम डालियां हो; जो मुझ में बना रहता है, और मैं उस में, वह बहुत फल फलता है, क्योंकि मुझ से अलग हो कर तुम कुछ भी नहीं कर सकते” (यूहन्ना 15:4-5)। जब तक हम प्रभु के साथ जुड़े रहेंगे, तब तक हम प्रभु से जीवनदायक सामर्थ्य, बुद्धि और समझ पाते रहेंगे, और उसके कार्यों को भली-भांति करते रहेंगे। जैसे ही हम अपनी सामर्थ्य, बुद्धि और समझ का सहारा लेंगे, अपनी योग्यता पर भरोसा रखने लगेंगे, प्रभु के कहे के अनुसार नहीं, वरन अपनी समझ और इच्छा अथवा किसी अन्य मनुष्य के कहे के अनुसार करने लगेंगे, तभी हम कठिनाइयों और समस्याओं में पड़ने लगेंगे, और हमें हताशाओं तथा कुंठित होने का सामना करना पड़ेगा। प्रभु की अगुवाई में, इस्राएलियों के लाल समुद्र पार करने के समान (निर्गमन 14 अध्याय), असंभव प्रतीत होने वाली बात भी संभव और सहज हो जाएगी; और बिना प्रभु की अगुवाई तथा सहायता के सरल और साधारण लगने वाली बात भी भारी पराजय बन जाएगी, जैसे यहोशू 7 अध्याय में इस्राएलियों के ऐ नगर में पराजय।

नए अथवा पुराने नियम के किसी भी परमेश्वर के जन या भविष्यद्वक्ता, या प्रेरित के जीवन और कार्यों को देख लें; सभी में आपको यही बात मिलेगी - जब तक वे प्रभु की अगुवाई में, प्रभु के कहे के अनुसार, प्रभु की सामर्थ्य और समझ के सहारे कार्य करते रहे, वे हमेशा ही हर परिस्थिति में हर बात पर जयवंत ही रहे। किन्तु जब भी उन्होंने अपनी या किसी अन्य मनुष्य की इच्छा या सलाह के अनुसार कार्य किया, उन्हें अन्ततः पराजय और समस्याएं ही हाथ लगीं, उनके सभी कार्य, सभी योग्यताएं और युक्तियाँ विफल हो गए, कुछ स्थाई और फलदायी नहीं रहा। प्रभु ने हमारी अगुवाई करते रहने की प्रतिज्ञा की है “मैं तुझे बुद्धि दूंगा, और जिस मार्ग में तुझे चलना होगा उस में तेरी अगुवाई करूंगा; मैं तुझ पर कृपा दृष्टि रखूंगा और सम्मत्ति दिया करूंगा” (भजन 32:8)।  इसीलिए प्रभु अपने शिष्यों से चाहता है कि वे सब से पहले उसके साथ बने रहने के पाठ को सीखें, और अपनी समझ का सहारा न लें, तब ही शिष्यों के मार्ग सफल होंगे “तू अपनी समझ का सहारा न लेना, वरन सम्पूर्ण मन से यहोवा पर भरोसा रखना। उसी को स्मरण कर के सब काम करना, तब वह तेरे लिये सीधा मार्ग निकालेगा” (नीतिवचन 3:5-6)। नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी होने के नाते, हमें उसके साथ-साथ, धैर्य और विश्वास के साथ चलते रहना सीखना है - न उससे आगे भागने का प्रयास करना है और न आलसी होकर उससे पीछे रह जाना है। प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी और आशीषित होने के लिए मसीही विश्वासी को सबसे पहले उसके साथ बने रहने, और प्रभु को निर्देश देने की बजाए प्रभु के कहे के अनुसार करते रहने वाला बनना है। तब ही वह विश्वासी अपने मसीही जीवन में आगे बढ़ने और कार्यकारी तथा परिपक्व होने पाएगा।

इसलिए यदि आप अभी तक अपना जीवन प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम में, किन्तु अपनी अथवा अन्य मनुष्यों की ही सामर्थ्य, समझ, और शिक्षाओं अथवा युक्ति तथा योग्यता, के अनुसार जीते रहने का प्रयास करते रहें हैं, तो फिर आपको अपने जीवन में एक आमूल-चूल, एक मौलिक परिवर्तन करने की तात्कालिक आवश्यकता है। समय तथा अवसर के रहते आज ही, अभी ही, इस व्यर्थ एवं निष्फल धारणा एवं मान्यता से निकलकर प्रभु यीशु मसीह की वास्तविक शिष्यता में आ जाएं, और हर समय हर बात के लिए उसके साथ उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में बने रहने को निभाना आरंभ कर लें। कहीं ऐसा न हो कि जब परलोक में आँख खुले तब पता लगे कि आप अपनी ही जिन धारणाओं और मान्यताओं का सारे जीवन बड़ी निष्ठा से निर्वाह करते रहे उससे आपको कोई लाभ नहीं हुआ है, और अब उस गलती को सुधारने का कोई अवसर पास नहीं है; अब तो केवल अनन्तकाल का दण्ड ही मिलेगा। यदि आप अभी भी संसार के साथ और संसार के समान जी रहे हैं, या परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने के लिए धर्म-कर्म-रस्म के निर्वाह की मानसिकता में भरोसा रखे हुए हैं, तो आज और अभी आपके पास अपनी अनन्तकाल की स्थिति को सुधारने का अवसर है। 

यदि आपने अभी तक नया-जन्म, उद्धार नहीं प्राप्त किया है, प्रभु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो आपके पास या करने के लिए अभी समय औ अवसर है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Christian Believer – Always With the Lord (2)

In the previous article, we began to consider the three things given in Mark 3:14-15 by the Lord, and ordained for His disciples; and which, even today, are the purpose for the true Christian Believers for being the Lord's disciples. From the last article we have been considering the first of these three things, to remain with the Lord, and seen its first part. We have seen that remaining with the Lord is the safety and security of the Christian Believer, that is where they are safe from the satanic ploys and harms; and can live a life useful for the Lord, be blessed. Today, we will see some more about this first thing, and understand further the importance of remaining with the Lord.

There are other benefits as well of being with the Lord. The Lord has said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."” (Matthew 11:28-30). The ‘yoke’ is that piece of equipment whose front part the farmers put across the necks of two bullocks, to bind them together, and the hind part has the pointed metal tip to plough the fields. The top part, across the necks, is controlled by the farmer to guide and control the bullocks properly while ploughing. In this invitation of Matthew 11:28-30, the Lord Jesus is expressing the desire that His Believer come out of the heavy yoke of sin and worldliness, and join Him, be yoked with Him in His light yoke, travel the rest of the life journey along with the Lord, so that the Lord can help him all along the way. If the Christian Believer stays with the Lord, remains yoked with Him then the Lord will continue to give him peace, guidance, solutions, and help in all things throughout life’s journey. The Believer will face problems only if he decides to unyoke himself and either get yoked back with the heavy yoke of sin and worldliness - a yoke in which the Lord Jesus can never be with him; or the Believer decides to do things in his way, through his own strength, wisdom, and efforts, without taking the help of the Lord.

That is why the Lord said to His disciples, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:4-5). So long as we are joined with the Lord, we will continue to receive from Him the life-giving strength, wisdom, and discernment to do things. But the moment we decide to trust in our own strength, wisdom, and discernment, in our own abilities, if we walk and work according to what seems right to us or what some other person tells us to do, instead of what the Lord instructs us to do, we will start falling into difficulties and problems, we will have to face frustrations and disappointments. When we walk and do according to what the Lord says, then as happened for the Israelites, the insurmountable problem of crossing the Red Sea will become possible and easy (Exodus chapter 14); but without the help and guidance of the Lord, even the seemingly easy and ordinary thing will become a cause of a heavy defeat, as happened with Joshua and the Israelites at Ai (Joshua chapter 7).

Look up the life of any Prophet, Apostle, or person of God, in either the Old or the New Testament, and you will find this in all of them - as long as they carried out their ministry in the guidance of the Lord, through the strength and wisdom of the Lord, they always remained victorious over every situation, everything. But if they started to do things according to their own will or wisdom, or under guidance of any other person, eventually they suffered heavy loss and defeats; all their works, abilities, and cleverness failed, nothing remained stable and fruitful in their lives. The Lord has promised to give us the right guidance “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye” (Psalms 32:8). It is for this reason that the Lord wants that His disciples should first and foremost learn the lesson of being with Him, learning from Him, and should not trust in their own wisdom and ways of doing things, only then will they be successful in all that they do “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6). As a Born-Again Believer, we need to learn to patiently be with Him and walk with Him - neither try to run ahead of Him, nor be lethargic and tardy and lag behind in the pace He sets for us. To be useful and fruitful for the Lord, and be blessed in his life by the Lord, the Christian Believer has to first learn to be with the Lord; not to instruct the Lord about things, but to be instructed by the Lord for everything. Only then will that Believer grow in His Christian life, become mature, effective, and fruitful for the Lord.

Therefore, if so far you have been living your life in the name of the Lord, but doing according to your own will, thoughts, desires, and abilities, or according to the guidance of some other person(s), then it is absolutely necessary that you effect a radical change in your outlook and life. If you are still thinking of yourself as being a Christian, because of being born in a particular family and having fulfilled the religious rites and rituals prescribed under your religion or denomination since your childhood, then you too need to come out of your misunderstanding of Biblical facts and start understanding and living according to what the Word of God says, instead of what any denominational creed says or teaches. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर का कोई कार्य कभी निरुद्देश्य नहीं होता है। वह स्वयं कार्यरत है, और अपने अनुयायियों से भी अपेक्षा करता है, चाहता है कि वे उसके लिए कार्यरत रहें। उसने अपने शिष्यों को उद्धार और मसीही विश्वास का जीवन व्यर्थ गँवाने और निठल्ले बैठने, औरों पर निर्भर होकर रहने के लिए नहीं दिया है। वरन, परमेश्वर ने प्रत्येक उद्धार पाए हुए व्यक्ति के लिए कुछ कार्य पहले से निर्धारित किए हैं (इफिसियों 2:10)। वह चाहता है कि प्रत्येक जन अपने उन दायित्वों को पूरे यत्न के साथ पूरा करे, जिसके लिए उसने अपने शिष्यों को उपयुक्त वरदान भी प्रदान किए हैं “और जब कि उस अनुग्रह के अनुसार जो हमें दिया गया है, हमें भिन्न भिन्न वरदान मिले हैं, तो जिस को भविष्यवाणी का दान मिला हो, वह विश्वास के परिमाण के अनुसार भविष्यवाणी करे। यदि सेवा करने का दान मिला हो, तो सेवा में लगा रहे, यदि कोई सिखाने वाला हो, तो सिखाने में लगा रहे। जो उपदेशक हो, वह उपदेश देने में लगा रहे; दान देनेवाला उदारता से दे, जो अगुआई करे, वह उत्साह से करे, जो दया करे, वह हर्ष से करे” (रोमियों 12:6-8); और प्रभु के लिए कार्यरत रहने में आलसी न हो, “प्रयत्न करने में आलसी न हो; आत्मिक उन्माद में भरो रहो; प्रभु की सेवा करते रहो” (रोमियों 12:11)।

हमने मरकुस 3:13-15 यह भी देखा था कि प्रभु ने जब अपने बारह शिष्य, जिन्हें प्रेरित कहा, नियुक्त किए, तो उनके लिए प्रभु के तीन प्रयोजन थे। प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए क्रम के अनुसार इन तीन प्रयोजनों में से पहला था कि वे शिष्य उसके साथ साथ रहें (मरकुस 3:14)। आज हम इस पहले प्रयोजन, प्रभु के साथ रहने, के बारे कुछ विस्तार से देखेंगे, और आते दिनों में शेष प्रयोजनों का अभी अध्ययन करेंगे।

हम पाप और उद्धार से संबंधित लेखों में देख चुके हैं कि पाप के साथ ही मृत्यु ने भी सृष्टि और मानव जीवन में प्रवेश किया। मृत्यु एक ऐसे और स्थाई अलगाव हो जाने को दिखाती है जो मानवीय सामर्थ्य एवं योग्यता से पूर्णतः अपरिवर्तनीय है। यह मृत्यु दो प्रकार की होती है - आत्मिक, और शारीरिक। मनुष्य की आत्मिक मृत्यु के कारण वह तुरंत ही परमेश्वर की संगति से दूर हो गया; और शारीरिक मृत्यु के कारण वह मरनहार बन गया। जन्म लेते ही मनुष्य मरना आरंभ कर देता है, और अन्ततः एक समय पर आकर उसका शरीर भी क्षय हो जाता है। प्रभु यीशु ने संसार के सभी लोगों के पापों को अपने ऊपर लेकर, उनकी इस मृत्यु को सभी के लिए सह लिया; और अपने कलवरी के क्रूस पर मारे जाने, गाड़े जाने, और तीसरे दिन मृतकों में से पुनरुत्थान के द्वारा समस्त मानव जाति के हर जन के लिए न केवल पापों की क्षमा और उद्धार का मार्ग बनाकर उपलब्ध करवा दिया वरन उनके लिए मृत्यु को पराजित कर दिया। प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर विश्वास लाते और उसे अपना व्यक्तिगत उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण करते ही व्यक्ति का परमेश्वर से मेल-मिलाप हो जाता है “क्योंकि बैरी होने की दशा में तो उसके पुत्र की मृत्यु के द्वारा हमारा मेल परमेश्वर के साथ हुआ फिर मेल हो जाने पर उसके जीवन के कारण हम उद्धार क्यों न पाएंगे?” (रोमियों 5:10); अर्थात आत्मिक मृत्यु या परमेश्वर से पृथक हो जाने का निवारण हो जाता है। साथ ही हम मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए परमेश्वर की यह भी प्रतिज्ञा है कि हमारे पुनरुत्थान के समय अथवा प्रभु के दूसरे आगमन के समय हमारे मरनहार शरीर पल भर में प्रभु के अविनाशी शरीर के समान हो जाएंगे “देखे, मैं तुम से भेद की बात कहता हूं: कि हम सब तो नहीं सोएंगे, परन्तु सब बदल जाएंगे। और यह क्षण भर में, पलक मारते ही पिछली तुरही फूंकते ही होगा: क्योंकि तुरही फूंकी जाएगी और मुर्दे अविनाशी दशा में उठाए जांएगे, और हम बदल जाएंगे” (1 कुरिन्थियों 15:51-52); अर्थात शारीरिक मृत्यु का भी निवारण तो किया जा चुका है, बस उसका कार्यान्वित किया जाना शेष है, जो प्रभु के निर्धारित समय पर हो जाएगा।

निष्कर्ष यह कि मसीही विश्वास में प्रवेश करते ही, मसीही विश्वासी की परमेश्वर के साथ संगति बहाल हो जाती है। प्रभु की यह कदापि इच्छा नहीं है कि यह संगति फिर से कभी टूटे। इसीलिए वह चाहता है कि उसका प्रत्येक शिष्य, हर अनुयायी उसके साथ ही बना रहे। जब तक हम प्रभु के साथ बने रहेंगे, शैतान द्वारा हानि पहुंचाए जाने से सुरक्षित रहेंगे, क्योंकि शैतान प्रभु द्वारा उसके लोगों के चारों ओर बनाए गए बाड़े को लांघ नहीं सकता है, प्रभु द्वारा निर्धारित सीमा से अधिक प्रभु के जन को छू नहीं सकता है “शैतान ने यहोवा को उत्तर दिया, क्या अय्यूब परमेश्वर का भय बिना लाभ के मानता है? क्या तू ने उसकी, और उसके घर की, और जो कुछ उसका है उसके चारों ओर बाड़ा नहीं बान्धा? तू ने तो उसके काम पर आशीष दी है, और उसकी सम्पत्ति देश भर में फैल गई है। परन्तु अब अपना हाथ बढ़ाकर जो कुछ उसका है, उसे छू; तब वह तेरे मुंह पर तेरी निन्दा करेगा। यहोवा ने शैतान से कहा, सुन, जो कुछ उसका है, वह सब तेरे हाथ में है; केवल उसके शरीर पर हाथ न लगाना। तब शैतान यहोवा के सामने से चला गया” (अय्यूब 1:9-12)। किन्तु जो इस बाड़े को लाँघेगा, शैतान उसे डस लेगा “जो गड़हा खोदे वह उस में गिरेगा और जो बाड़ा तोड़े उसको सर्प डसेगा” (सभोपदेशक 10:8)। और प्रभु अपने हर जन को शैतान की युक्तियों से सुरक्षित रखना चाहता है। इसीलिए प्रभु चाहता है कि उसके शिष्य उसके साथ ही रहें। इसीलिए प्रभु ने हमें आश्वासन दिया है “तुम किसी ऐसी परीक्षा में नहीं पड़े, जो मनुष्य के सहने से बाहर है: और परमेश्वर सच्चा है: वह तुम्हें सामर्थ्य से बाहर परीक्षा में न पड़ने देगा, वरन परीक्षा के साथ निकास भी करेगा; कि तुम सह सको” (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13)।

यदि आपने अभी तक नया-जन्म, उद्धार नहीं प्राप्त किया है; शैतान, उसकी युक्तियों और उसके लोगों से अपने आप को सुरक्षित नहीं किया है;  प्रभु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो आपके पास या करने के लिए अभी समय औ अवसर है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Christian Believer – Always With the Lord (1)

In the previous articles we have seen that every work of God is for a purpose. He is working, and He wants and expects His followers to be working for Him as well. He has not given salvation and the life of Christian faith to His disciples to waste away, to be doing nothing, and for being dependent on others for their needs. God has already determined something or the other for every Christian Believer to do (Ephesians 2:10). He wants everyone to fulfil their responsibilities diligently and sincerely. For this He has given each of His disciples appropriate gifts as well “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophecy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness” (Romans 12:6-8); none should be lazy in working for the Lord “not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11).

We had also seen from Mark 3:13-15, that when the Lord chose His twelve disciples, whom He called ‘Apostles’, He had three purposes for them. In the sequence stated by the Lord, the first among these purposes was that those disciples “be with Him” (Mark 3:14). Today we will look into this first purpose for the Lord’s disciple in some detail, and in the days ahead, we will study the other purposes as well.

In the previous articles on sin and salvation, we had seen that along with sin, death also entered the creation and in human life. Death is a permanent state of separation, irreversible by any human means and efforts. This death is of two kinds - spiritual and physical. Because of spiritual death man became separated from God’s fellowship; and because of physical death he became perishable. Man begins to die from the moment he is born, and eventually at a particular time, his body dies and decays off. The Lord Jesus took the sins of entire mankind upon Himself and paid for them with His life, suffered this physical death for mankind; by His death on the cross of Calvary, burial, and resurrection, He prepared and made available for all of mankind the way for forgiveness of sins and salvation, and defeated death for everybody. The moment a person comes to faith in the Lord Jesus and accepts Him as his personal savior, he is reconciled with God “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” (Romans 5:10), i.e., the problem of the person’s spiritual death is taken care of. We Christian Believers also have the Lord’s promise that at the time of our resurrection, or at the time of the second coming of the Lord, our perishable bodies will change in a moment to the eternal bodies, like the body of the Lord Jesus after His resurrection “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52), i.e., the solution to physical death has been made ready as well, now it only has to be applied and activated in our lives, which will be done in the time appointed by the Lord.

The conclusion is that as soon as one enters into the Christian faith, the Christian Believer is restored into fellowship with God. Since it is not God’s will that this fellowship is ever broken again, therefore He wants that each and every one of His Born-Again Believer, His spiritual children remain with Him always. As long as we are with the Lord God, we will remain safe from Satan’s harm. Satan can never cross the boundary, the hedge that God has put around His people, and can never do anything to God’s children over and above the limit set by God for him, as is evident from this passage from Job, “So Satan answered the Lord and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!" And the Lord said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person." So, Satan went out from the presence of the Lord” (Job 1:9-12). But whosoever will transgress this boundary, breach this hedge, he will be bitten by the ‘snake’ “He who digs a pit will fall into it, And whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent” (Ecclesiastes 10:8). The Lord wants to keep safe every one of His people from the devices of Satan. That is why, to keep us safe from Satan, the Lord wants that each and every one of His disciples remain with Him; and the Lord has also assured us “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation; have not made yourself safe from Satan, his people, and his ploys; have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

पिछले लेख में हमने प्रभु यीशु मसीह का शिष्य होने एक गुण पर विचार करना आरम्भ किया था - प्रभु यीशु का शिष्य, प्रभु के समान ही परमेश्वर के कार्य में लगा रहता है। हमने यह भी देखा था कि इस प्रकार कार्यरत रहना, न केवल प्रभु यीशु के लिए, वरन उत्पत्ति में अदन की वाटिका के समय से ही प्रत्येक परमेश्वर के जन, और आज प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित ज़िम्मेदारी है। यद्यपि वचन यह सिखाता है कि जो लोग प्रभु की ओर से, प्रभु के लोगों के मध्य में आत्मिक बातों की सेवकाई करते हैं, उन लोगों की शारीरिक आवश्यकताओं की देखभाल उन लोगों के द्वारा की जाए जिनके मध्य वे सेवकाई करते हैं (1 कुरिन्थियों 9:1-14)। किन्तु जैसा यहाँ पर पद 12 संकेत करता है, इस सुविधा का दुरुपयोग, अथवा ज़रा सा भी अनुचित प्रयोग, सुसमाचार प्रचार में बाधा डाल सकता है; इसीलिए इससे आगे पद 15-17 में पौलुस ने अपने उदाहरण से दिखाया कि उसने इस सुविधा का उपयोग नहीं किया, किन्तु परिश्रम करके अपना जीवन यापन किया। आज हम पौलुस द्वारा इस सन्दर्भ में कही गई बातों को देखेंगे। 

प्रेरित पौलुस ने अपने जीवन के उदाहरण से दिखाया कि वह परिश्रम करके अपनी आजीविका कमाता था जिससे वह किसी पर भी बोझ न हो, और मसीही सेवकाई में भी लगा रहता था “और अपने ही हाथों से काम कर के परिश्रम करते हैं। लोग बुरा कहते हैं, हम आशीष देते हैं; वे सताते हैं, हम सहते हैं” (1 कुरिन्थियों 4:12); “क्योंकि, हे भाइयों, तुम हमारे परिश्रम और कष्‍ट को स्मरण रखते हो, कि हम ने इसलिये रात दिन काम धन्‍धा करते हुए तुम में परमेश्वर का सुसमाचार प्रचार किया, कि तुम में से किसी पर भार न हों” (1 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 2:9); “और किसी की रोटी सेंत में न खाई; पर परिश्रम और कष्‍ट से रात दिन काम धन्‍धा करते थे, कि तुम में से किसी पर भार न हो” (2 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 3:8); पौलुस अपनी उस कमाई से औरों की सहायता भी करता था “परन्तु जिस तरह माता अपने बालकों का पालन-पोषण करती है, वैसे ही हम ने भी तुम्हारे बीच में रह कर कोमलता दिखाई है” (1 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 2:7); “मैं तुम्हारी आत्माओं के लिये बहुत आनन्द से खर्च करूंगा, वरन आप भी खर्च हो जाऊंगा...” (2 कुरिन्थियों 12:15)। उसने ऐसा ही करने की शिक्षा मसीही विश्वासियों को भी दी “और जैसी हम ने तुम्हें आज्ञा दी, वैसे ही चुपचाप रहने और अपना अपना काम काज करने, और अपने अपने हाथों से कमाने का प्रयत्न करो” (1 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 4:11); और यहाँ तक भी कहा कि “और जब हम तुम्हारे यहां थे, तब भी यह आज्ञा तुम्हें देते थे, कि यदि कोई काम करना न चाहे, तो खाने भी न पाए” (2 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 3:10)।

मसीह यीशु के शिष्यों के लिए संदेश और निर्देश स्पष्ट है - परमेश्वर पिता के समान प्रभु यीशु भी कार्य करता रहा; प्रभु ने शिष्यों को चुना और उनके लिए भी प्रयोजन रखे; और भावी मसीही शिष्यों के लिए भी यही शिक्षा और निर्देश दिए कि मसीही सेवकाई में संलग्न होने पर भी वे औरों पर बोझ न बने, परंतु अपने ही परिश्रम से अपना जीवन यापन करें, तथा औरों की भी सहायता करें। मसीही विश्वासी होने का अर्थ औरों पर निर्भर होकर अपना घर चलाना नहीं है, वरन प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी बनकर प्रभु के घर के लिए कार्य करना है। किन्तु सबसे पहली बात तो यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि क्या आप वास्तव में प्रभु यीशु के सच्चे समर्पित शिष्य हैं अथवा नहीं? क्योंकि मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित अन्य सभी बातें इस एक बात पर ही निर्भर हैं। 

इसलिए यदि आप अभी तक मसीह यीशु के समर्पित एवं आज्ञाकारी शिष्य नहीं बने हैं, तो समय तथा अवसर के रहते आज ही, अभी ही, धर्म-कर्म-रस्म की व्यर्थ धारणा एवं मान्यता से निकलकर प्रभु यीशु मसीह की वास्तविक शिष्यता में आना और उसे निभाना अनिवार्य है। कहीं ऐसा न हो कि जब परलोक में आँख खुले तब पता लगे कि जिस धर्म तथा उसकी बातों का सारे जीवन बड़ी निष्ठा से निर्वाह करते रहे उससे कोई लाभ नहीं हुआ, और अब उस गलती को सुधारने का कोई अवसर पास नहीं है; अब तो केवल अनन्तकाल का दण्ड ही मिलेगा। अभी समय रहते अपने जीवन में इन अनिवार्य बदलावों को कर लीजिए; इससे पहले कि कुछ भी कर पाने का समय और अवसर जाता रहे।

यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों की क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास यह कर लेने का समय और अवसर है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Biblical Christian Faith - a Discipleship of Being at Work (2)

In the previous article we had begun considering a characteristic of being the disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ - the disciple of the Lord Jesus, like the Lord Jesus keeps working for the Lord. We had also seen that being involved like this was not just for the Lord Jesus, rather, since creation, was made the responsibility of every man of God, and today is the responsibility of every Christian Believer. Although the Word teaches us that those who have been ordained by God to work amongst God's people, meeting their physical needs is the responsibility of those amongst whom they labor (1 Corinthians 9:1-14). But, as verse 12 here indicates, the misuse, or even the slightest of inappropriate use of this privilege can create problems in the preaching of the gospel; therefore, in the subsequent verses 15-17 Paul shows through his own example that he did not utilize this right, rather labored to earn his living. Today we will consider some things stated by Paul in this context.

The Apostle Paul illustrated this principle very well through his life; he used to work and earn for himself, so that he is never a burden upon anyone, and was also deeply involved in Christian ministry “And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure” (1 Corinthians 4:12); “For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil; for laboring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God” (1 Thessalonians 2:9); “nor did we eat anyone's bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you” (2 Thessalonians 3:8); Paul even helped others with his earnings “But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children” (1 Thessalonians 2:7); “And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls…” (2 Corinthians 12:15). Paul gave instructions to the Christian Believers to do the same “that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you” (1 Thessalonians 4:11); and went to the extent of saying “For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

From this, the message and instructions for Christian Believers are quite clear - Christian discipleship is not living a life of ease and relaxation, but to be working for the Lord to preach His gospel and fulfilling the work He has kept for us. God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ have been working, and are still at work, so, how can God’s people not be working like them? The Lord Jesus Christ chose His disciples and instructed them that in their Christian ministry they should not be a burden upon others, but they should work for their living as well as help others with what they earn. To be a disciple of Christ Jesus does not mean to be dependent upon others to make ends meet and look after our families; rather it means to be useful and fruitful in and for the House of the Lord. But the first and foremost thing is to be certain whether or not you are an actually surrendered true disciple of the Lord? Because everything else related to the Christian life is dependent upon this one thing. 

Therefore, if you have not yet become an obedient and surrendered disciple of the Lord Jesus, then come out of the mentality of thinking yourself to be righteous because of your religion-works-rituals and truly become a disciple of the Lord Jesus. Lest when your eyes open in the next world, you come to realize that the religion and its related rituals you so diligently observed throughout your life were vain, had no benefits, and now there is no opportunity left to make amends for your errors; all that you have is suffering the penalty for eternity. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है कि परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के अनुसार प्रभु यीशु का अनुयायी होना किसी धर्म का निर्वाह करना नहीं है; और न ही यह वंशागत - किसी परिवार विशेष में जन्म ले लेने के द्वारा स्वाभाविक रीति से और स्वतः ही प्राप्त हो जाने वाला कोई विशेषाधिकार नहीं है। न तो प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने कभी कोई धर्म बनाया; न कभी अपने नाम से किसी धर्म के बनाए जाने की शिक्षा अथवा निर्देश दिए; न ही कभी लोगों के धर्म परिवर्तन करने के लिए कहा; और न ही कभी यह कहा या सिखाया कि कुछ धार्मिक अनुष्ठानों और रीतियों की पूर्ति के द्वारा कोई उनका अनुयायी बनाया जा सकता है। न ही प्रभु ने कभी ऐसा कोई आश्वासन अथवा ऐसी कोई प्रतिज्ञा दी कि जो उसके अनुयायी हो जाएंगे, फिर उनके बाद उनकी संतान और भावी पीढ़ियाँ भी स्वतः ही यह विशेषाधिकार प्राप्त करती चली जाएंगी। यह बाइबल का प्रकट सत्य है कि जिसे भी मसीह यीशु का अनुयायी होना है, उसे व्यक्तिगत रीति से, स्वेच्छा तथा सच्चे मन से अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु मसीह से अपने पापों की क्षमा माँगकर, पापों की क्षमा के लिए प्रभु यीशु द्वारा कलवरी के क्रूस पर दिए गए बलिदान - उनके मारे जाने, गाड़े जाने और तीसरे दिन मृतकों में से जी उठाने को स्वीकार करना होगा, और यीशु को प्रभु मानकर अपने आप को उन्हें समर्पित कर देना होगा; इसे ही उद्धार या नया जन्म प्राप्त करना कहते हैं, जिसके बिना कोई परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश तो दूर, उसे देख भी नहीं सकता है (यूहन्ना 3:3, 5, 7)। यह उस व्यक्ति के मसीही जीवन का आरंभ है, इस विशिष्ट जीवन यात्रा में उठाया गया पहला कदम है। इस बिन्दु से लेकर फिर उसके शेष जीवन भर वह प्रभु यीशु के वचन और आज्ञाकारिता से सीखता रहता है, प्रभु तथा उस व्यक्ति में निवास करने वाले पवित्र आत्मा के चलाए चलता रहता है, और प्रभु उसे अंश-अंश करके अपने स्वरूप में बदलता चला जाता है (2 कुरिन्थियों 3:18)।

प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने अपनी पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के दिनों में अपने पीछे चलने वाले लोगों की भीड़ में से बारह लोगों को चुना, जिन्हें उसने प्रेरित कहा (लूका 6:13)। प्रभु ने भविष्य में सारे संसार भर में जाकर प्रभु में उपलब्ध पापों की क्षमा और उद्धार के सुसमाचार के प्रचार और प्रसार करने का दायित्व इन्हीं को सौंपा, और इस महान एवं महत्वपूर्ण कार्य के लिए इन्हें लगभग साढ़े-तीन वर्ष तक प्रशिक्षित किया। यहूदा इस्करियोती के अलग हो जाने के बाद इस सेवकाई में आगे चलकर पौलुस को जोड़ दिया गया, उसे भी प्रेरित कहा गया। जब प्रभु ने उन बारह शिष्यों को चुना था, तो उनके लिए प्रभु यीशु का एक विशेष प्रयोजन था, जिसके अंतर्गत वह उन्हें उनकी सेवकाई और कार्य के लिए, तथा उसके गवाह होने के लिए तैयार करने जा रहा था। उसके इस प्रयोजन को हम एक संक्षिप्त और सुन्दर रूप में मरकुस 3:13-15 में देखते हैं: “फिर वह पहाड़ पर चढ़ गया, और जिन्हें वह चाहता था उन्हें अपने पास बुलाया; और वे उसके पास चले आए। तब उसने बारह पुरुषों को नियुक्त किया, कि वे उसके साथ साथ रहें, और वह उन्हें भेजे, कि प्रचार करें। और दुष्टात्माओं के निकालने का अधिकार रखें।” मरकुस के इस खंड में प्रभु ने तीन प्रयोजन अपने शिष्यों के लिए रखे हैं; और वे जिस क्रम में रखे हैं, वह भी महत्वपूर्ण है, क्योंकि हम देखते हैं कि क्रम के पहले से तीसरे को बढ़ते जाने तक, परिपक्वता में बढ़ने के साथ, दायित्व एवं कौशल भी बढ़ता जाता है। पद 14 और 15 में दिए गए ये तीन प्रयोजन हैं:

    * वे उसके साथ साथ रहें (पद 14)

    * वह उन्हें भेजे, कि प्रचार करें (पद 14)

** भेजे जाने को तैयार हों

** जहाँ और जब प्रभु कहे वहाँ और तब जाएं 

** प्रभु के कहे के अनुसार प्रचार करने को तैयार हों 

    * दुष्टात्माओं के निकालने का अधिकार रखें (पद 15)

यह हमारे प्रभु परमेश्वर के बारे में एक महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य भी प्रकट करता है - परमेश्वर का कोई कार्य, कोई बात निरुद्देश्य नहीं होती है। जैसा प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने कहा कि सृष्टि करने के हजारों वर्ष बाद भी जिस प्रकार परमेश्वर अभी भी कार्य कर रहा है, उसी प्रकार प्रभु यीशु भी काम में लगा हुआ है “इस पर यीशु ने उन से कहा, कि मेरा पिता अब तक काम करता है, और मैं भी काम करता हूं” (यूहन्ना 5:17)। प्रभु आज भी हमारे सहायक के रूप में कार्य कर रहा है (1 यूहन्ना 2:1), और हमारे लिए स्थान भी तैयार कर रहा है “मेरे पिता के घर में बहुत से रहने के स्थान हैं, यदि न होते, तो मैं तुम से कह देता क्योंकि मैं तुम्हारे लिये जगह तैयार करने जाता हूं” (यूहन्ना 14:2)। इसी प्रकार से प्रभु परमेश्वर ने प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के करने के लिए भी पहले ही से कुछ-न-कुछ कार्य निर्धारित कर के रखा हुए हैं “क्योंकि हम उसके बनाए हुए हैं; और मसीह यीशु में उन भले कामों के लिये सृजे गए जिन्हें परमेश्वर ने पहिले से हमारे करने के लिये तैयार किया” (इफिसियों 2:10)। परमेश्वर के इस सिद्धांत को मनुष्य की सृष्टि के साथ ही दे दिया गया था; परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य के लिए अदन की वाटिका को लगाया था, किन्तु उसकी देखभाल करना, आदम का कार्य और ज़िम्मेदारी थे (उत्पत्ति 2:8, 15)। इसलिए, मसीही विश्वासी होने का यह अर्थ नहीं है कि उसे कोई परिश्रम नहीं करना पड़ेगा, और वह परमेश्वर तथा कलीसिया या मण्डली से आशा रखे कि वे उसकी भौतिक आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करेंगे। प्रभु के शिष्य को, मसीही विश्वासी को अपनी आजीविका एवं आवश्यकताओं के लिए कार्य करना अनिवार्य है।

प्रभु यीशु के शिष्यों के लिए प्रभु के उपरोक्त तीनों प्रयोजनों के बारे में हम आगे देखेंगे। लेकिन अभी के लिए, यह अनिवार्य है कि हम प्रभु यीशु मसीह द्वारा सिखाए गए मसीही विश्वास के सत्यों और तथ्यों का पालन करें। परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के आधार पर, हमें मसीहियत के नाम में जो गलत शिक्षाएं और धारणाएं सिखाई और बताई गई हैं उनको बड़े ध्यान से परखना और आँकलन कर लेना चाहिए, और मसीह यीशु के नाम में शैतान द्वारा फैलाए गए धर्म के भ्रम से बाहर निकलना चाहिए। हमें यह समझना चाहिए कि मसीही शिष्यता एक उद्देश्य के लिए है, और अन्ततः, प्रत्येक के द्वारा जो कुछ भी किया, अथवा नहीं किया गया है, उस सभी का हिसाब लिया जाएगा। यदि आप अभी भी एक परिवार विशेष में जन्म लेने के कारण, और बचपन से ही अपने धर्म और डिनॉमिनेशन की रीतियों और परम्पराओं का पालन करने के कारण अपने आप को मसीही समझ रहे हैं, तो आपको भी बाइबल के तथ्यों के प्रति अपनी गलतफहमियों से बाहर निकलने और परमेश्वर का वचन जो कहता है उसे जानने, समझने, और पालन करने की आवश्यकता है, न कि उसका निर्वाह करने की जो आपका मत या डिनॉमिनेशन कहता और सिखाता है। इसलिए यदि आप अभी तक मसीह यीशु के समर्पित एवं आज्ञाकारी शिष्य नहीं बने हैं, तो समय तथा अवसर के रहते आज ही, अभी ही, धर्म-कर्म-रस्म की व्यर्थ धारणा एवं मान्यता से निकलकर प्रभु यीशु मसीह की वास्तविक शिष्यता में आना और उसे निभाना अनिवार्य है। कहीं ऐसा न हो कि जब परलोक में आँख खुले तब पता लगे कि जिस धर्म तथा उसकी बातों का सारे जीवन बड़ी निष्ठा से निर्वाह करते रहे उससे कोई लाभ नहीं हुआ, और अब उस गलती को सुधारने का कोई अवसर पास नहीं है; अब तो केवल अनन्तकाल का दण्ड ही मिलेगा। अभी समय रहते अपने जीवन में इन अनिवार्य बदलावों को कर लीजिए; इससे पहले कि कुछ भी कर पाने का समय और अवसर जाता रहे।

 

यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों की क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास यह कर लेने का समय और अवसर है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Biblical Christian Faith - a Discipleship of Being at Work (1)

In the previous articles we have seen that Biblically speaking, to be a follower of the Lord Jesus is not the following of any religion, neither is it familial or inherited, i.e., by virtue of being born in a particular family, no one automatically becomes a Christian Believer. The Lord Jesus Christ never started any religion, nor did He ever teach or instruct anybody about starting a religion in His name. Christ Jesus never told His disciples to do any religious conversions, nor did He ever say that through the fulfillment of certain rituals and ceremonies people can be declared as His followers. He never assured anyone nor promised at any time that those who become His disciples, their future generations too would automatically become, or will be accepted as His disciples. It is an evident Biblical fact that whosoever wants to become a follower of the Lord, he has to personally, willingly take this decision; he has to sincerely repent of his sins, ask forgiveness for them from the Lord Jesus Christ, has to accept and believe in the sacrifice the Lord Jesus made on the Cross of Calvary, in His being buried and being resurrected on the third day; and he has to accept the Jesus Christ as Lord, submit his life to Him, decide to live in obedience to Him and His Word - this is being saved or being Born-Again, and no one can even see the Kingdom of God, let alone enter it, unless they are Born-Again (John 3:3, 5, 7). Being Born-Again is the beginning, the first step of the person’s life of Christian Faith. From here onwards, for the rest of his life the person continues to learn God’s Word and living in obedience to the Word of the Lord, learns to walk under the guidance of Holy Spirit who resides in Him, and the Lord gradually changes him bit by bit into His own likeness (2 Corinthians 3:18); the person grows and matures in his life of Christian Faith.

The Lord Jesus Christ, during His days of ministry on earth, chose twelve disciples from amongst those who used to keep following and moving with Him, and He called these twelve Apostles (Luke 6:13). For about three and a half years the Lord taught these twelve and trained them for their future ministry of preaching the gospel all over the world; after Judas Iscariot went away, the Lord added the Apostle Paul to them. He entrusted the responsibility of going out into the world to preach and teach the gospel of forgiveness of sins and salvation to these twelve Apostles. This by itself shows that the Lord’s discipleship is not a mere formality, nor something without a purpose. At the time the Lord had chosen those twelve, He had a special purpose for them, and He prepared them with that purpose in mind - to be His witnesses, the ministers of His gospel amongst all people of the whole world. This purpose and its methodology is very succinctly but beautifully given in Mark 3:13-15 “And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons”. In these verses the Lord has stated three purposes for His disciples; the order in which He has given these purposes is also very important, because we see that each purpose builds upon the previous one and is a step forward in maturity, responsibility, and ability. These three purposes, given in verses 14 and 15 are:

    * that they might be with Him (v. 14)

    * that He might send them out to preach (v.14)

** Be available to be sent out

** Go when and where the Lord asks them to go

** Be ready to preach as the Lord asks them to preach

    * to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons (v.15)

This also brings out a very important aspect of the Lord’s - no work of the Lord God is ever without a purpose. Moreover, as the Lord Jesus said for God the Father, thousands of years after completing the creation, God is still at work in it, and similarly, the Lord Jesus too is continually at work, “But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working."” (John 5:17). Even today the Lord Jesus is still working; He is working for us as our advocate (1 John 2:1); He is preparing a place in heaven for us, “In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2). Just as the Lord God is always at work, similarly, for every Christian Believer, He has determined some work or the other, which the Believer is to do and fulfill, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). In fact, this principle of God, for man to work, was given with the creation of man; God planted the Garden of Eden for Adam, but to look after and maintain that garden was Adam’s responsibility (Genesis 2:8, 15). Therefore, to be Christian Believer does not mean or imply that he should not work and labor, and only expect from God and the Assembly or Church to meet his physical needs and requirements. A disciple of Christ has to work for his living and needs.

In the coming days, we will be considering the above mentioned Lord’s purposes for His disciples in some detail. But for now, it is essential for us that we follow the truths and facts of the Christian faith as taught by the Lord Jesus. On the basis of the teachings of God's Word the Bible, we must carefully examine and evaluate the wrong teachings and false notions that have been preached, taught, and spread about Christianity, and come out of the deception that has been spread by Satan in the name of Christ Jesus as a religion. We need to understand that Christian discipleship is for a purpose, and eventually there will be an accounting of what has been done or not been done by everyone. If you are still thinking of yourself as being a Christian because of being born in a particular family and having fulfilled the religious rites and rituals prescribed under your religion or denomination since your childhood, then you too need to come out of your misunderstanding of Biblical facts and start learning, understanding, and living according to what the Word of God says, instead of what any denominational creed says or teaches. 

Therefore, if you have not yet become an obedient and surrendered disciple of the Lord Jesus, then come out of the mentality of thinking yourself to be righteous because of your religion-works-rituals and truly become a disciple of the Lord Jesus. Lest when your eyes open in the next world, you come to realize that the religion and its related rituals you so diligently observed throughout your life were vain, had no benefits, and now there is no opportunity left to make amends for your errors; all that you have is suffering the penalty for eternity. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
