मसीही विश्वासी - प्रभु के समान होने का प्रयास करता है

सुसमाचारों में दिए गए वर्णन में से, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के शिष्य का तीसरा गुण है कि उसे अपने उद्धारकर्ता और गुरु, प्रभु यीशु मसीह की समानता में होना है। प्रभु यीशु ने कहा, चेला अपने गुरु से बड़ा नहीं; और न दास अपने स्‍वामी से। चेले का गुरु के, और दास का स्‍वामी के बराबर होना ही बहुत है; जब उन्होंने घर के स्‍वामी को शैतान कहा तो उसके घर वालों को क्यों न कहेंगे? (मत्ती 10:24-25)। यह हमारे लिए बहुत विचार और मनन करने की बात है कि परमेश्वर ने व्यवस्था को मूसा के द्वारा लिखवा कर इस्राएलियों के लिए दे दिया, और उन्हें उसका पालन करने के लिए कहा। किन्तु इस अनुग्रह के युग में प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने स्वयं देहधारी वचन बनकर मनुष्यों के मध्य निवास किया (यूहन्ना 1:14) और सजीव उदाहरण के द्वारा जी कर दिखाया, बताया, और सिखाया कि प्रभु यीशु के अनुयायी को कैसा होना है, क्या करना है। मसीही विश्वासी का आदर्श, अनुसरण करने के लिए उसका नमूना, स्वयं प्रभु यीशु मसीह है। मसीही विश्वास का जीवन व्यावहारिक जीवन है; संसार के सामने जी कर दिखाया जाता है; धर्म-कर्म-रस्म के निर्वाह और किताबी ज्ञान अर्जित करने का जीवन नहीं है।

प्रेरित पौलुस ने पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में अपने जीवन के उदाहरण से इस बात को लिखा, कि जैसे वह मसीह का अनुसरण करता था, वैसे ही, उसके समान अन्य लोग भी ऐसा ही करें:

* 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:1 तुम मेरी सी चाल चलो जैसा मैं मसीह की सी चाल चलता हूं।

* 1 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 4:1-2 निदान, हे भाइयों, हम तुम से बिनती करते हैं, और तुम्हें प्रभु यीशु में समझाते हैं, कि जैसे तुम ने हम से योग्य चाल चलना, और परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करना सीखा है, और जैसा तुम चलते भी हो, वैसे ही और भी बढ़ते जाओ। क्योंकि तुम जानते हो, कि हम ने प्रभु यीशु की ओर से तुम्हें कौन कौन सी आज्ञा पहुंचाई।

पौलुस ने आगे चलकर अपने जीवन के प्रति अपने रवैये के विषय में लिखा:

* फिलिप्पियों 1:21 क्योंकि मेरे लिये जीवित रहना मसीह है, और मर जाना लाभ है।

* गलातियों 2:20 मैं मसीह के साथ क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया हूं, और अब मैं जीवित न रहा, पर मसीह मुझ में जीवित है: और मैं शरीर में अब जो जीवित हूं तो केवल उस विश्वास से जीवित हूं, जो परमेश्वर के पुत्र पर है, जिसने मुझ से प्रेम किया, और मेरे लिये अपने आप को दे दिया।

उसने अपने आप को पूर्णतः मसीह यीशु को समर्पित कर दिया था, और प्रभु यीशु के कहे के अनुसार करता था, उसी के चलाए चलता था, अपने जीवन से उसी को दिखाना, और उसे ही महिमा देना चाहता था। 

मसीही जीवन की परिपक्वता में बढ़ना भी प्रभु यीशु मसीह की समानता में बढ़ते जाना है परन्तु जब हम सब के उघाड़े चेहरे से प्रभु का प्रताप इस प्रकार प्रगट होता है, जिस प्रकार दर्पण में, तो प्रभु के द्वारा जो आत्मा है, हम उसी तेजस्‍वी रूप में अंश अंश कर के बदलते जाते हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 3:18)। यह परिवर्तन तब ही संभव है जब हर बात में हर निर्णय से पहले, यह विचार करें कि इस बात के लिए, या इस परिस्थिति में, प्रभु यीशु क्या कहता, अथवा क्या करता?” इसीलिए पवित्र आत्मा ने लिखवाया है कि “इस संसार के सदृश न बनो; परन्तु तुम्हारी बुद्धि के नये हो जाने से तुम्हारा चाल-चलन भी बदलता जाए, जिस से तुम परमेश्वर की भली, और भावती, और सिद्ध इच्छा अनुभव से मालूम करते रहो (रोमियों 12:2)। हम मसीही विश्वासियों को अपना हर कार्य, हर निर्णय, सांसारिक बुद्धि अथवा समझ के अनुसार नहीं वरन उस बदली हुई बुद्धि और चाल-चलन के अनुसार करना है।

यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आप के लिए यह जाँचने की बात है कि आप का आदर्श, आपके अनुसरण के लिए आपका नमूना कौन है? क्या आप अपने जीवन की हर बात, हर निर्णय में प्रभु यीशु को प्राथमिकता देकर, वैसा ही करने और जीने का प्रयास करते हैं जैसा उस बात, उस निर्णय के लिए प्रभु यीशु करता? प्रभु ने कहा है, शिष्य के लिए अपने गुरु के समान होना ही पर्याप्त है।

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Christian Believer – Strives to the be like The Lord

According to the description given in the Gospels, the third characteristic of a Born-Again Christian Believer is that he strives to be like his savior and teacher, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus said, “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!” (Matthew 10:24-25). Something very important and significant for us to ponder over is the fact that God gave His Law through Moses and asked the Israelites to follow it. But in this age of grace, the Word of God became flesh and dwelt amongst us as the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:14), and then showed and taught by example how a disciple of the Lord Jesus has to live and behave. The role model for a Christian Believer, the one to emulate and follow is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. The life of Christian Faith is a life of practically living the faith, demonstrating to the world by example; it is not a life of fulfilling formalities, going through certain rituals and ceremonies, observing feasts and festivals, and acquiring bookish knowledge.

The Apostle Paul, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, wrote that just as he followed Christ, the other Believers should follow Christ similarly:

* 1 Corinthians 11:1 Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

* 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2 Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

Later on, Paul wrote about his attitude towards his life of faith:

* Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

* Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

He had fully surrendered himself to Christ Jesus, and only did according to the instructions of the Lord; all Paul wanted to do was to glorify the Lord and show Him through his life.

To grow in maturity of life of Christian faith is to increase in the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18). This transformation is only possible when for every decision a person first stops and considers, “for this thing or for this situation, what would the Lord Jesus have done, or said?” That is why the Holy Spirit had it written, And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). The Christian Believer, the disciple of Christ, is to do everything, take every decision, not according to the mind and ways of the world, but in accordance with his transformed and renewed mind and behavior.

If you are a Christian Believer, then it is for you to evaluate and see, who in your life is your role model, whom do you follow? Do you accord the first priority to the Lord Jesus for everything, for every decision of your life, and strive to do things the way the Lord Jesus would have done for that thing or situation? Remember, the Lord has said that it is enough for a disciple to be like his Lord or Teacher.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

मसीही विश्वासी - प्रभु को प्राथमिक स्थान देता है

सुसमाचारों में प्रभु यीशु मसीह द्वारा दिए गए मसीही विश्वासी के सात गुणों में से दूसरा गुण है कि वह प्रभु यीशु मसीह को अपने जीवन में प्राथमिक, सबसे उच्च स्थान देता है। प्रभु के शिष्य के लिए पारिवारिक एवं सांसारिक संबंधों से अधिक महत्वपूर्ण प्रभु के साथ उसका संबंध होना चाहिए:

* मत्ती 10:37 “जो माता या पिता को मुझ से अधिक प्रिय जानता है, वह मेरे योग्य नहीं और जो बेटा या बेटी को मुझ से अधिक प्रिय जानता है, वह मेरे योग्य नहीं।”

* लूका 14:26 “यदि कोई मेरे पास आए, और अपने पिता और माता और पत्नी और लड़के बालों और भाइयों और बहिनों वरन अपने प्राण को भी अप्रिय न जाने, तो वह मेरा चेला नहीं हो सकता।”

* “और उस की माता और उसके भाई आए, और बाहर खड़े हो कर उसे बुलवा भेजा। और भीड़ उसके आसपास बैठी थी, और उन्होंने उस से कहा; देख, तेरी माता और तेरे भाई बाहर तुझे ढूंढते हैं। उसने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, कि मेरी माता और मेरे भाई कौन हैं? और उन पर जो उसके आस पास बैठे थे, दृष्टि कर के कहा, देखो, मेरी माता और मेरे भाई यह हैं। क्योंकि जो कोई परमेश्वर की इच्छा पर चले, वही मेरा भाई, और बहिन और माता है” (मरकुस 3:31-35)।

इस अन्तिम पद और स्वयं के उदाहरण तथा व्यवहार के द्वारा दिखाया कि प्रभु के लिए उसके अपने परिवार जनों से अधिक महत्वपूर्ण वे लोग थे जो उसकी बात सुनते और मानते थे। 

किन्तु इसका यह अभिप्राय नहीं है कि मसीही शिष्य को अपनी पारिवारिक जिम्मेदारियों के प्रति उदासीन या लापरवाह होना चाहिए। परमेश्वर के वचन और प्रयोजन में परिवार ही वह इकाई है जिसमें होकर हम परमेश्वर और उसके प्रेम को समझने पाते हैं। परमेश्वर ने हमारे लिए अपने आप को परिवार के सदस्यों, जैसे कि पिता, पुत्र, पति; और अपने लोगों के साथ अपने संबंध तथा उन लोगों के परस्पर संबंधों को भी पारिवारिक संबंधों जैसे कि पुत्र और पुत्रियों, पत्नी, भाई, आदि के द्वारा व्यक्त किया है। वचन परिवार के प्रति व्यक्ति की जिम्मेदारियों को भी सिखाता है:

* निर्गमन 20:12 “तू अपने पिता और अपनी माता का आदर करना, जिस से जो देश तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझे देता है उस में तू बहुत दिन तक रहने पाए।”

* लैव्यव्यवस्था 19:3 “तुम अपनी अपनी माता और अपने अपने पिता का भय मानना, और मेरे विश्राम दिनों को मानना; मैं तुम्हारा परमेश्वर यहोवा हूं।”

* 1 तीमुथियुस 5:8 “पर यदि कोई अपनों की और निज कर के अपने घराने की चिन्ता न करे, तो वह विश्वास से मुकर गया है, और अविश्वासी से भी बुरा बन गया है।”

प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने इस ज़िम्मेदारी को भी क्रूस की वेदना सहते हुए निभाया, जब उन्होंने अपनी माता मरियम की ज़िम्मेदारी अपने शिष्य यूहन्ना को सौंपी: “परन्तु यीशु के क्रूस के पास उस की माता और उस की माता की बहिन मरियम, क्‍लोपास की पत्‍नी, और मरियम मगदलीनी खड़ी थी। यीशु ने अपनी माता और उस चेले को जिस से वह प्रेम रखता था, पास खड़े देखकर अपनी माता से कहा; हे नारी, देख, यह तेरा पुत्र है। तब उस चेले से कहा, यह तेरी माता है, और उसी समय से वह चेला, उसे अपने घर ले गया” (यूहन्ना 19:25-27)।

साथ ही हम यह भी देखते हैं कि प्रभु की मण्डली के अगुवों को सबसे पहले परिवार की उचित देखभाल करने वाला होना चाहिए, तब ही वह मण्डली की देखभाल ठीक से कर सकेंगे: 

* 1 तीमुथियुस 3:4-5 “अपने घर का अच्छा प्रबन्‍ध करता हो, और लड़के-बालों को सारी गम्भीरता से आधीन रखता हो। जब कोई अपने घर ही का प्रबन्‍ध करना न जानता हो, तो परमेश्वर की कलीसिया की रखवाली क्योंकर करेगा?”

* 1 तीमुथियुस 3:12 “सेवक एक ही पत्नी के पति हों और लड़के बालों और अपने घरों का अच्छा प्रबन्‍ध करना जानते हों।”

पारिवारिक संबंधों से बढ़कर प्रभु को प्राथमिकता देने का अर्थ परिवार की अनदेखी करना नहीं है, वरन इसका तात्पर्य पारिवारिक जिम्मेदारियों का बहाना बनाकर, प्रभु के कार्य की अनदेखी नहीं करना है। हमने मरकुस 3:14-15 में से शिष्य के लिए प्रभु के प्रयोजनों में से दूसरे प्रयोजन में देखा था कि प्रभु के शिष्य को जब और जहाँ प्रभु भेजे, तब और वहाँ जाने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए। हम यह भी देख चुके हैं कि प्रभु जब भी किसी व्यक्ति को अपने किसी कार्य के लिए भेजता है, तो उससे संबंधित सारी तैयारियों को पूरा कर लेने के बाद ही ऐसा करता है। इसलिए प्रभु के शिष्य को प्रभु में इस बात के लिए भरोसा रखना चाहिए कि यदि प्रभु उसे कहीं जाने या कुछ करने के लिए कह रहा है, तो प्रभु ने उसके परिवार से संबंधित जिम्मेदारियों के बारे में भी कुछ प्रयोजन कर के रखा होगा, और उस शिष्य की अनुपस्थिति में परिवार को कोई हानि नहीं होगी। साथ ही, शिष्य द्वारा अपने परिवार को प्रभु के हाथों में सौंप कर, प्रभु के कहे के अनुसार करने के लिए जाना, इस बात का अभी सूचक है कि वह शिष्य यह मानता और निभाता है कि उसके परिवार की देखभाल भी प्रभु ही करता है, न कि वह स्वयं; जो कि उसके विश्वास की  तथा आत्मिक परिपक्वता का सूचक एवं चिह्न है।

जो प्रभु को महत्व देते हैं, प्रभु उनको भी बहुत महत्व और प्रतिफल देता है: “यीशु ने कहा, मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि ऐसा कोई नहीं, जिसने मेरे और सुसमाचार के लिये घर या भाइयों या बहिनों या माता या पिता या लड़के-बालों या खेतों को छोड़ दिया हो। और अब इस समय सौ गुणा न पाए, घरों और भाइयों और बहिनों और माताओं और लड़के-बालों और खेतों को पर उपद्रव के साथ और परलोक में अनन्त जीवन” (मरकुस 10:29-30)।

यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, अपने आप को प्रभु यीशु मसीह का अनुयायी कहते हैं, तो प्रभु के सच्चे शिष्य की इस दूसरी पहचान की कसौटी पर आप कहाँ खड़े हैं? प्रभु, उसकी आज्ञाकारिता, और उस का वचन आपके जीवन में क्या महत्व रखता है; क्या स्थान पाता है? क्या आपने प्रभु को अपने जीवन में प्राथमिक तथा सर्वोच्च स्थान दिया है? वह राजाओं का राजा, प्रभुओं का प्रभु, सृष्टि का रचयिता एवं स्वामी और सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर है; उसको उसकी महिमा और हस्ती को उपयुक्त स्थान न देना, उसका अपमान करना है। इसलिए यदि आप प्रभु के जन हैं, तो प्रभु को अपने जीवन में उसका सही आदर और स्थान भी प्रदान करें।

Christian Believer – Accords Primary Place to the Lord

      The second of the seven characteristics of a Christian Believer given by the Lord is that he accords the primary, the highest place in his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. For a disciple of the Lord, his relationship with the Lord should be of paramount importance, over and above his family and worldly relationships:

* Matthew 10:37 “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.”

* Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.”

* Mark 3:31-35 “Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, "Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You." But He answered them, saying, "Who is My mother, or My brothers?" And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother."” 

Through this last verse and using His own behavior as an example, the Lord practically demonstrated that for Him those who heard and obeyed Him were more important than His immediate family.

But this does not mean that a Christian Believer should be unconcerned about his family responsibilities. In God’s Word and purpose, family is the unit through which we get to understand God and His love. God has expressed Himself towards us through various family relationships, e.g., Father, Son, Husband. God has also expressed the mutual relationships of His people between themselves and also with Him through familial relationships, e.g., being sons and daughters, wife or bride, brothers, etc., God’s Word also teaches about a person’s familial relationships and responsibilities:

* Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”

* Leviticus 19:3 “Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and keep My Sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.”

* 1 Timothy 5:8 “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

The Lord Jesus fulfilled this responsibility even while suffering the torment of the Cross, when He handed over the responsibility of His mother, Mary, to His disciple John, “Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!" Then He said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home” (John 19:25-27).

We also see that the Assemblies of God’s people have been instructed that  the Elders are to be those who firstly manage their own household well, only then can they be considered worthy of managing the responsibility of the Assembly:

* 1 Timothy 3:4-5 “One who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?”

* 1 Timothy 3:12 “Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.”

To give the primary place to the Lord instead of familial relationships and responsibilities is not being careless or unconcerned about earthly families. Rather, it implies not using the family responsibilities as an excuse for neglecting theLord's work. We have seen from the second purpose given in Mark 3:14-15 that the disciple of the Lord should be willing and prepared to go whenever and wherever the Lord sends him. We have also seen that whenever the Lord appoints and sends someone for His work, he first prepares all the groundwork, all that is necessary, for that person to accomplish that work. Therefore, the disciple of the Lord should have faith and be confident that if the Lord is asking him to go somewhere and do something for Him, then the Lord has also made the necessary provisions and prepared for the requirements, so that in the absence of the disciple, his family should not suffer any harm. Moreover, the disciple’s handing over his family into the hands of the Lord and going when and where the Lord sends him, is an indicator that the disciple believes in and follows the fact that it is actually the Lord who looks after him and his family and meets their needs, and not the disciple; this is also a sign of the spiritual maturity and the faith of that person.

Whoever gives importance and primacy to the Lord, the Lord too gives him importance and rewards: “So Jesus answered and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life” (Mark 10:29-30).

If you are a Christian Believer, if you call yourself a disciple of Christ, then where do you find yourself according to this second characteristic of the true disciple of the Lord? What place do the Lord, His Word, and obedience to them have in your life? Have you accorded the primary and highest place to the Lord in your life? He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Creator and Owner of the creation, the omnipotent God. To not give to Him a position according to His glory and status is in fact insulting Him, demeaning Him. Therefore, if you are a Christian Believer, truly a disciple of the Lord Jesus, then the Lord should have His proper place and status in your life.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

मसीही विश्वासी - प्रभु के वचनों में बना रहता है 

    पिछले लेखों में हमने मरकुस 3:14-15 से प्रभु के अपने शिष्यों के लिए तीन प्रयोजनों को देखा था, कि शिष्य प्रभु के साथ रहें, और जब भी, जहाँ भी, तथा जिसके पास भी प्रभु उन्हें भेजे, वहाँ जाकर वही कहें जो प्रभु उन्हें कहने के लिए कहे। पहला प्रयोजन प्रभु के साथ रहकर उससे सामर्थ्य प्राप्त करने के लिए है; दूसरा प्रयोजन उसकी आज्ञाकारिता और उसके प्रति समर्पित होकर, अपनी नहीं वरन उसकी इच्छा पूरी करने से संबंधित है; और तीसरा प्रयोजन उस अधिकार के बारे में है, जो प्रभु अपने साथ रहने वाले, और अपने आज्ञाकारी शिष्यों को देता है। प्रभु के प्रत्येक शिष्य के जीवन में, उसकी प्रभावी और सफल मसीही सेवकाई के लिए, ये तीनों प्रयोजन बहुत महत्वपूर्ण, वरन अनिवार्य हैं।

इन प्रयोजनों के अतिरिक्त, सुसमाचारों में प्रभु ने सात ऐसे गुणों को भी बताया जो उसके शिष्यों में पाए जाने चाहिएं। किसी व्यक्ति के जीवन में इन प्रयोजनों एवं इन गुणों का बने रहना ही उसके इस दावे की पुष्टि करेगा कि वह वास्तव में प्रभु यीशु मसीह का शिष्य है। 

आज हम इन सात में से पहले गुण के बारे में देखेंगे, कि वह प्रभु के वचन में बना रहता है। 

प्रभु के वचन को जानना या पढ़ना, और उसके वचन में बने रहना, दो बिल्कुल भिन्न बातें हैं। वचन में बने रहने का अर्थ है कि प्रभु यीशु का सच्चा शिष्य केवल उस के वचनों को पढ़ता, और जानता ही नहीं है, वरन उन्हें सीखता, समझता है, और साथ ही उनका पालन करता है, उन्हें अपने व्यावहारिक जीवन में दिखाता है; तथा औरों को भी प्रभु के वचन के बारे में बताता और सिखाता है। इस संदर्भ में कुछ पदों को देखिए:

* यूहन्ना 8:31 तब यीशु ने उन यहूदियों से जिन्होंने उन की प्रतीति की थी, कहा, यदि तुम मेरे वचन में बने रहोगे, तो सचमुच मेरे चेले ठहरोगे।

* यूहन्ना 14:15 यदि तुम मुझ से प्रेम रखते हो, तो मेरी आज्ञाओं को मानोगे।

* यूहन्ना 14:21 जिस के पास मेरी आज्ञा है, और वह उन्हें मानता है, वही मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, और जो मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, उस से मेरा पिता प्रेम रखेगा, और मैं उस से प्रेम रखूंगा, और अपने आप को उस पर प्रगट करूंगा।

* यूहन्ना 14:23 यीशु ने उसको उत्तर दिया, यदि कोई मुझ से प्रेम रखे, तो वह मेरे वचन को मानेगा, और मेरा पिता उस से प्रेम रखेगा, और हम उसके पास आएंगे, और उसके साथ वास करेंगे।

इन पदों से यह स्पष्ट है कि स्वयं प्रभु यीशु मसीह के कहे के अनुसार, उनका सच्चा शिष्य वही है जो उनके वचन को अपने जीवन में प्राथमिक स्थान देता है, उन में बना रहता है, और उसकी बातों का पालन करता है। यदि कोई यह कहता है कि वह प्रभु से प्रेम करता है, तो यह भी इसी से प्रमाणित होता है कि वह प्रभु के वचन से कितना प्रेम करता है। यदि व्यक्ति परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से प्रेम नहीं करता है, तो प्रभु द्वारा यूहन्ना 14:21, 23 में कहे के अनुसार, उसका प्रभु से प्रेम करने का दावा अस्वीकार्य है।

प्रभु क्यों चाहता है कि उनके शिष्य उसके वचन में निरन्तर बने रहें? क्योंकि यदि शिष्य प्रभु में बना नहीं रहे, तो फिर वह प्रभु के लिए फलवंत, उपयोगी भी नहीं हो सकता है : “तुम मुझ में बने रहो, और मैं तुम में: जैसे डाली यदि दाखलता में बनी न रहे, तो अपने आप से नहीं फल सकती, वैसे ही तुम भी यदि मुझ में बने न रहो तो नहीं फल सकते। मैं दाखलता हूं: तुम डालियां हो; जो मुझ में बना रहता है, और मैं उस में, वह बहुत फल फलता है, क्योंकि मुझ से अलग हो कर तुम कुछ भी नहीं कर सकते” (यूहन्ना 15:4-5)। यदि जो प्रभु यीशु का शिष्य होने का दावा करता है, वह प्रभु के लिए फलवंत नहीं होता है, प्रभु द्वारा अपने शिष्यों को दी गई महान आज्ञा (मत्ती 28:18-20) का पालन नहीं करता रहता है, तो फिर उसकी शिष्यता के दावे व्यर्थ हैं।

हम कैसे पहचान सकते हैं कि हम प्रभु के वचनों में बने हुए हैं? बाइबल में दो प्रमुख चिह्न दिए गए हैं जो यह दिखाते हैं कि हम प्रभु के वचन के साथ केवल एक औपचारिकता नहीं निभा रहे हैं, वरन वास्तव में प्रभु के वचन में बने हुए हैं:

पहला चिह्न है, जो प्रभु के वचन में बना रहता है, वह उसका पालन भी करता है, “पर जो कोई उसके वचन पर चले, उस में सचमुच परमेश्वर का प्रेम सिद्ध हुआ है: हमें इसी से मालूम होता है, कि हम उस में हैं” (1 यूहन्ना 2:5); “और जो उस की आज्ञाओं को मानता है, वह उस में, और वह उन में बना रहता है: और इसी से, अर्थात उस आत्मा से जो उसने हमें दिया है, हम जानते हैं, कि वह हम में बना रहता है” (1 यूहन्ना 3:24)। 

और दूसरा चिह्न है, कि उस शिष्य का चाल-चलन और व्यवहार प्रभु के समान होता जाता है, “सो कोई यह कहता है, कि मैं उस में बना रहता हूं, उसे चाहिए कि आप भी वैसा ही चले जैसा वह चलता था” (1 यूहन्ना 2:6); “तुम मेरी सी चाल चलो जैसा मैं मसीह की सी चाल चलता हूं” (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:1)।

यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, अपने आप को प्रभु यीशु मसीह का अनुयायी कहते हैं, तो प्रभु के सच्चे शिष्य की इस पहली पहचान की कसौटी पर आप कहाँ खड़े हैं? प्रभु का वचन आपके जीवन में क्या महत्व रखता है; क्या स्थान पाता है? 

और यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

English Translation

Christian Believer – Abides in God’s Word

In the previous articles, we have seen from Mark 3:14-15 the three purposes the Lord had for His disciples. In brief, these purposes are that the disciples should remain with the Lord, be willing and ready to go to preach, and say whatever the Lord wants them to say; whenever, wherever, and to whoever the Lord sends them. The first purpose is for the disciple to be empowered by constantly being in the fellowship of the Lord; the second purpose is to be obedient and surrendered to the Lord, to do not his own will but the Lord’s will in everything; and the third purpose is about the authority that the Lord grants to those who abide in Him and are obedient to Him. These three purposes are mandatory for an effective and successful Christian ministry of every Christian Believer.

Besides these three purposes, in the Gospels, the Lord also stated seven other characteristics that should be present in His disciples. It is the continual presence of these purposes and characteristics in the life of the person, which will affirm their claim of being a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. 

Today we will look at the first of these seven characteristics, i.e., he abides in the Words of the Lord.

To know and read the Word of God, and to abide in the Word of God are two altogether different things. To abide in the Word of God means to not only read and know it, but also to learn it, understand it, obey it, practically demonstrate it in their personal lives, and to tell and teach others from and about God’s Word. Consider some verses from the Bible about this:

* John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.”

* John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.

* John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

* John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

It is clear and evident from these verses, that in the Lord Jesus's own words, only the one who gives the first place to His Word in his life, abides in Him, and obeys Him, is a true disciple of the Lord Jesus. If anybody claims to love the Lord Jesus, then his this claim is confirmed only by his love for the Lord's Word. If a person does not love God's Word the Bible, then in accordance with what the Lord has said in John 14:21, 23, his claim of loving the Lord is unacceptable. 

Why does the Lord want that His disciples abide in His Word continually? Because if the disciple does not abide in the Lord and His Words, he cannot be effective and fruitful for the Lord, as the Lord Himself has said: “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:4-5). If he who claims to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus is not being fruitful for the Lord, is not obeying and fulfilling the Great Commission given by the Lord to His disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), then his claims of being the Lord’s disciple are vain.

How can we recognize or know that we are abiding in God’s Word? There are two main signs given in the Bible that demonstrate whether we are merely fulfilling a formality with God’s Word, or are we actually abiding in Lord’s Words:

The first sign is that he who actually abides in the Word of God, also obeys it, But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him (1 John 2:5); Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us (1 John 3:24).

The second sign is that the life and behavior of the one abiding in God’s Word, is progressively transformed to be like that of the Lord, He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked (1 John 2:6); Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).

If you are a Christian Believer, if you call yourself a disciple of Christ, then where do you find yourself according to this first characteristic of the true disciple of the Lord? What place and what importance does the Word of God have in your life?
