मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 3 - प्रभु-भोज (15)
परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में, प्रेरितों 2:42 में मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित चार व्यावहारिक बातें दी गईं हैं, जिनका पालन आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी लौलीन होकर किया करते थे। परिणाम स्वरूप सभी विरोध, सताव, विपरीत परिस्थितियों, कठिनाइयों, आदि के बावजूद वे अपने आत्मिक जीवन में उन्नत होते चले गए, अपने मसीही विश्वास में स्थिर और दृढ़ बने रहे, और कलीसियाएं भी स्थापित होती तथा बढ़ती चली गईं। इन चारों बातों के इसी सकारात्मक तथा बहु-आयामी बढ़ोतरी के प्रभाव के कारण, इन चार बातों को “मसीही जीवन के स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है। आज भी, जब तक मसीही विश्वासी इन का पालन लौलीन होकर करते हैं, उनके जीवनों में यह सकारात्मक तथा बहु-आयामी बढ़ोतरी का प्रभाव दिखाई देता है। इनमें मनुष्य की अपनी समझ और बुद्धि के अनुसार कोई परिवर्तन करके, इन्हें एक रीति बनाकर, इनका एक धार्मिक परम्परा या औपचारिकता के समान निर्वाह करना, मसीही जीवन, मसीही विश्वास, और कलीसियाओं के लिए गिरावट और बहुत हानि का कारण बन जाता है। हम इसी बात को उस समय कुरिन्थुस की कलीसिया में, और आज, संसार भर में मसीहियत के साथ होते हुए देखते हैं। इस बाइबल अध्ययन में हम वर्तमान में से इन चारों में से तीसरे स्तम्भ, “रोटी तोड़ना” या प्रभु भोज, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के बारे में सीख रहे हैं।
प्रभु भोज की स्थापना, और प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए उसके एकमात्र सही और पालन किए जाने वाले स्वरूप को हम चारों सुसमाचारों में से सीखते हैं। कुरिन्थुस के मसीही विश्वासियों द्वारा प्रभु भोज में लाई गई गलतियों के आधार पर परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने उन गलतियों को दिखाने और सुधारने के बारे में 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 में लिखवाया है। प्रेरित पौलुस द्वारा लिखी गई इन बातों को, परमेश्वर के वचन का भाग बनाने के द्वारा, पवित्र आत्मा ने इन बातों को प्रभु की सार्वभौमिक विश्वव्यापी कलीसिया के लिए भी ठीक उसी तरह से लागू कर दिया है, जैसा तब कुरिन्थुस की कलीसिया के लिए था। प्रभु भोज के बारे में कुरिन्थुस की कलीसिया को लिखी गई इन बातों को हम सात बिन्दुओं के अन्तर्गत देख रहे हैं। पिछले लेख से हमने इन सात में से छठे बिन्दु, अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के हानिकारक परिणामों को पद 29-30 से देखना आरम्भ किया है। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि अविश्वासियों को, जिन्हें भाग लेना ही नहीं चाहिए, उन्हें भी प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने के लिए उकसा कर, किस प्रकार से शैतान उन्हें अपने चंगुल में फँसाए रखता है, और अपने साथ अनन्त विनाश में जाने के लिए अटकाए रखता है। साथ ही हमने इसके लिए पास्टरों और कलीसिया के अगुवों की ज़िम्मेदारी और जवाबदेही के बारे में भी देखा था। आज हम यहीं से आगे बढ़ेंगे और पद 29-30 से कुछ और बातों को सीखेंगे।
6. प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेना - पद 29-30 - (भाग 2)
अविश्वासियों द्वारा प्रभु भोज में अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के कारण उन पर पड़ने वाले भयानक दण्ड के लिए यह तर्क दिया जाता है कि क्योंकि प्रभु भोज की वास्तविकता और सम्बन्धित सही शिक्षाओं से अनभिज्ञ होने के कारण उनसे यह चूक हुई है, इसलिए उन्हें इस भारी दण्ड का भागी बनाना अनुचित है। इस प्रश्न को हम पहले भी देख चुके हैं जब हमने प्रभु भोज में अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने से सम्बन्धित तीन बहानों पर विचार किया था। साथ ही प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई चार बातों में से पहली, परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षा पाने से सम्बन्धित लेखों में भी हम इसे देख चुके हैं। हमने देखा है कि प्रभु के नाम से जुड़े हुए प्रत्येक जन, प्रत्येक मसीही या ईसाई के लिए, यह कितना आवश्यक और अनिवार्य है कि वह प्रभु के वचन को सीखे। जो सीखना चाहते हैं, परमेश्वर ने उन्हें सही शिक्षा सही रीति से सिखाने के लिए अपना पवित्र आत्मा भी उपलब्ध करवाया है। यदि वे एक समर्पित जीवन के साथ, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने को तैयार होंगे, तो उन्हें सिखाया भी जाएगा। किन्तु अधिकाँश मसीही यह करने की बजाए, उन्हें पास्टरों या कलीसिया के अगुवों से जो सिखाया जाता है, उसे ही, और उसे बिना जाँचे-परखे ही, ग्रहण कर लेना सुविधाजनक लगता है। अब, परमेश्वर द्वारा उपलब्ध करवाए गए सर्वोत्तम प्रावधान के बावजूद, जब वे जानबूझकर लापरवाही और अनाज्ञाकारिता करेंगे, तो फिर उन्हें अपने किए के दुष्परिणामों को भी ग्रहण करने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए। विडम्बना यह कि ये लोग अपने समय और सामर्थ्य को संसार के साथ तथा साँसरिकता की बातों में लगाते हैं, परमेश्वर और उसके वचन की अनदेखी, अपमान, और अनाज्ञाकारिता करते हैं; और जब उनके किए हुए के दुष्परिणाम सामने आते हैं, तो उनके साथ अन्याय करने के लिए परमेश्वर को ही दोषी ठहराना चाहते हैं। साथ ही, उन्हें उदाहरण बनाकर, परमेश्वर औरों के सामने भी यह चेतावनी रखता है कि यदि अन्य लोग भी वही गलती करेंगे, तो फिर वे भी उसी दुष्परिणाम को भुगतेंगे। इसलिए, परमेश्वर अन्यायी या कठोर नहीं है; लोग लापरवाह और परमेश्वर को, उसकी बातों को, उसके प्रावधानों को हल्के में लेकर, उसका और उसकी सहायता का अपमान और तिरस्कार करते हैं। और फिर अपनी गलती मानने की बजाए, अनुचित बहाने बनाकर उलटे परमेश्वर को ही दोषी दिखाना चाहते हैं; जैसे आदम ने अदन की वाटिका में अपने पाप के लिए परमेश्वर को ही ज़िम्मेदार ठहराना चाहा, यह कहकर कि परमेश्वर ने उसे जो स्त्री दी, उसी के कारण पाप हुआ। तात्पर्य यह कि न परमेश्वर स्त्री देता, और न पाप करने की परिस्थिति उत्पन्न होती। लेकिन पाप का परिणाम तो भुगतना ही पड़ा, कोई बहाना काम नहीं आया। इसी प्रकार अनुचित रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वालों को भी अपने किए का परिणाम भुगतना ही होगा।
मसीही विश्वासी के प्रभु भोज में अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के लिए, उसे भी अविश्वासी के समान ही दण्ड सहना पड़ता है। ध्यान कीजिए कि 1 कुरिन्थियों का यह खण्ड मसीही विश्वासियों को सम्बोधित है; उन्हें उनकी गलतियाँ दिखाकर, गलतियों को सुधारने के लिए है। पद 29 में अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के लिए दण्ड मिलने में अविश्वासी और विश्वासी के मध्य कोई भिन्नता नहीं की गई है। और पद 30 में जो दण्ड या दुष्परिणाम दिए गए हैं, वे उस कलीसिया के लोगों पर आए थे। लेकिन मसीही विश्वासी को भी पृथ्वी पर समान दण्ड देने के द्वारा परमेश्वर साथ ही, मसीही विश्वासी के हित में कुछ और भी करता है। इब्रानियों 12:5-11 को ध्यान से पढ़िए। इब्रानियों के इस खण्ड से हम देखते हैं कि मसीही विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा की गई ताड़ना, पिता समान व्यवहार है, उसे सुधारने के लिए है; और पद 11 में, निष्कर्ष के रूप में लिखा है कि ताड़ना सहने वाले के लिए चैन के साथ धर्म का प्रतिफल भी रखा है। अर्थात, ताड़ना के साथ-साथ, परमेश्वर मसीही विश्वासी को यह सांत्वना भी देता है कि वह उसे सही कर रहा है, निखार रहा है, उसे सुधार कर अपने लिए और अधिक उपयोगी तथा और भी बेहतर आशीषों के योग्य बना रहा है। तो मसीही विश्वासी के लिए यह रोमियों 8:28 की पूर्ति है। शैतान ने उसे अनुचित रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के द्वारा ताड़ना का भागी बनाया, किन्तु परमेश्वर ने शैतान कि उस युक्ति को अपने जन के प्रति अपने प्रेम, उसकी भलाई ही चाहने की पुष्टि करने के लिए उपयोग कर लिया, और साथ ही इस ताड़ना को सहने के लिए, एक उत्तम प्रतिफल भी उसके लिए तैयार करके रख दिया। अब मसीही विश्वासियों को यह सोचना चाहिए कि यदि परमेश्वर उनकी अनाज्ञाकारिता और लापरवाही को भी उनकी भलाई के लिए उपयोग कर सकता है; तो फिर उनकी आज्ञाकारिता और यत्न से परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी बने रहने के लिए उन्हें और कितनी अच्छी और बड़ी आशीषों तथा प्रतिफल देगा। तो फिर क्यों न उन आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासियों के समान ही, आज हम भी प्रेरितों 2:42 की बातों का लौलीन होकर पालन करें? जब बिना ताड़ना सहे अच्छे प्रतिफल और आशीष मिल सकते हैं, तो फिर व्यर्थ में ऐसे काम क्यों करें कि ताड़ना सहनी पड़े?
आगे, 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:30 में उस ताड़ना के कुछ उदाहरण दिए हैं, जो अनुचित रीति से प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने के कारण उन लोगों पर आई थी। हम यहाँ से आगे, अगले लेख में देखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 3 - Breaking of Bread (15)
In God’s Word, the Bible, in Acts 2:42, four things regarding practical Christian living have been given, and the initial Christian Believers did them steadfastly. Consequently, despite all the opposition, persecution, adverse circumstances, difficulties, etc., they continued to be edified in their spiritual lives, remain firm and established in their Christian faith, and the churches also grew in numbers, were established more and more. Because of this positive and multi-faceted growth causing effect of these four things, they have also been called the “Pillars of Christian Living.” Even today, as long as the Christian Believers follow them steadfastly, the same positive and multi-faceted growth causing effects are seen in their lives too. But men altering them according to their own understanding and wisdom, turning them into a ritual, and then observing them as a religious tradition or as a formality, becomes a cause for great harm and downfall for Christian living, Christian faith, and for church growth. We see this happening, then in the Church at Corinth, and today all over the world in Christianity. In this Bible study, presently, we are considering and learning about the third of these four pillars, i.e., “breaking of bread,” or the Holy Communion, the Lord’s Table.
It is from the four gospel accounts that we learn about the institution of the Lord’s Table by the Lord Jesus, and about the one and only correct manner of participating in it, as was given by the Lord. For the wrongs and errors that the Christian Believers had brought into the observance of the Holy Communion, God the Holy Spirit had written in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 what those errors were, and how to correct them. By making these things written by the Apostle Paul a part of God’s Word, the Holy Spirit has made them similarly applicable for the universal worldwide Church of God, as they were applicable for the Church in Corinth. We are considering the things regarding the Lord’s Table, written to the Church in Corinth, under seven points. In the last article, we have started to consider from verses 29-30, the sixth of these seven points, i.e., the harmful effects of unworthily participating in the Table. In the last article we have seen how Satan instigates the unbelievers, those who should not be partaking in the Table at all, to partake unworthily, and thereby keeps them entangled with him to take them to eternal damnation with him. We had also seen the responsibility and the accountability of the Pastors and the church Elders for this, in the last article. Today we will move ahead from here and see some other things from verses 29-30.
6. Partaking in the Holy Communion - verses 29-30 - (Part 2)
Because of the severe punishment the unbelievers suffer for their unworthily participating in the Lord’s Table, an argument is made that since they committed this mistake out of ignorance, not being aware of the reality and teachings related to the Lord’s Table, therefore, it is unfair to subject them to the severe punishment. We have already considered this question earlier, when we were considering the three excuses often given for unworthily participating in the Holy Communion. Moreover, the first of the four things given in Acts 2:42 is studying God’s Word, and there also we had seen about this. We have seen how important and necessary it is for everyone associated with the name of the Lord, i.e., for every Christian, to learn the Word of God. Those who do want to learn, God has made available for them His Holy Spirit, to properly teach them the right things. If they are willing to learn from the Holy Spirit humbly, and surrender to Him, He will surely teach them. But most of the Christians, instead of doing this, learn whatever their Pastor or church Elder says and teaches, without even checking it out and verifying it, since that seems more convenient. Now, when God has made available the best possible resource, if they still deliberately remain careless and disobedient, then they should also be ready to accept the harmful effects of their own decisions. The irony is that they spend their time and energies in the world and for the things of the world, ignore, insult, and disobey God and His Word; but when they have to suffer the harmful effects of their own choices, they say that they are being treated unjustly, and want to blame God for their own doings. Moreover, by making such people an example, God warns the others that if they too commit the same wrongs, then they too will suffer the same consequences. Therefore, it is not that God is unjust or cruel; it is that the people are careless, take God and His Word, His resources casually, thereby they reject and insult Him and the help He has provided. And then, instead of accepting their sins, they make lame and weak excuses, to try to put the blame back on God. This is something like what Adam did in the Garden of Eden, tried to hold God responsible for his sin, by saying that the sin was because of the woman God had given. Implying that had God not given the woman, there would have been no possibility for the entry of sin. But he had to suffer the consequences of sin, his excuses did not absolve him. Similarly, all who participate in an unworthy manner, will have to pay the price of what they have done.
Even the Christian Believers have to suffer the same punishment for unworthily partaking of the Lord’s Table, as the unbelievers do. Take note that this section of 1 Corinthians is addressed to the Christian Believers; and is meant to show their errors to them and to correct them. In verse 29, there is no difference mentioned in the consequences of unworthily participating in the Holy Communion, between the Believers and the unbelievers. And, the harmful effects that have been mentioned, they came upon the church congregation. But God, while punishing the Believers on earth, like the unbelievers, does something else for their benefit. Carefully read Hebrews 12:5-11. From this section of Hebrews, we see that by chastising the Christian Believer, God is dealing with him like a Father, to correct him; and in verse 11 as a conclusion, it is written that for those who go through this process of correction through chastisement, there is kept ready the peaceable fruit of righteousness. In other words, along with the chastisement, God is also consoling the Christian Believer that he is correcting him, making him better, and making him more useful for God, and worthy of greater blessings. So, this is a fulfillment of Romans 8:28 for the Christian Believers. Satan, by instigating him to partake in the Table unworthily, made him suffer at the hands of God. But God used the satanic ploy to demonstrate to the one who belongs to Him, His love and care towards him, used it to do something good for him; and for suffering this chastisement, God also prepared a good reward for him. Now, the Christian Believers should think about this, that if God uses even their carelessness and disobedience, for causing something good for them; then how much greater rewards they will get if they remain obedient to God and diligently make themselves useful for Him. Therefore, like those initial Christian Believers, today, why shouldn’t we too steadfastly do the things of Acts 2:42? If we can get great rewards and blessings, without having to suffer any chastisement, then why should we suffer in vain?
Next, in 1 Corinthians 11:30 are given some examples of the chastisement that came upon those people because of unworthily participating in the Lord’s Table. We will see ahead from here, in the next article.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
