मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 3 - प्रभु-भोज (7)

व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन जीने के लिए, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन के निर्देशों का पालन करना अनिवार्य है। प्रेरितों 2 और 15 अध्याय में व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित कुछ निर्देश दिए गए हैं, जिनका पालन करने के द्वारा उस समय के मसीही विश्वासी और कलीसियाएं अपने आत्मिक जीवन में उन्नत तथा परिपक्व, और सँख्या में बढ़ते गए। प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में सात बातें दी गई हैं, जिनमें से चार, जिन्हें “मसीही जीवन के स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है, प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई हैं। हम इन सात बातों में से छठी बात, और चार में से तीसरे स्तम्भ - “रोटी तोड़ना” अर्थात प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के बारे में, सात बिन्दुओं में होकर देख और सीख रहे हैं। परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रेरित पौलुस में होकर प्रभु भोज में उचित रीति से भाग लेने से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाएं मुख्यतः 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 पद में लिखवाई हैं। हम वर्तमान में चौथे बिन्दु के बारे में 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:23-26 से सीख रहे हैं कि प्रभु की मेज़ में उचित रीति से भाग लेने के लिए मसीही विश्वासियों को किस प्रकार का व्यवहार रखना चाहिए। अभी तक हमने देखा है कि मसीही विश्वासियों को दीन और नम्र होकर कलीसिया के अगुवों द्वारा सुधारे जाने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए। साथ ही कलीसिया के अगुवों को चरवाहे के समान धैर्य और सहनशीलता के साथ कलीसिया के लोगों को वचन की सही शिक्षा देने वाला और आत्मिक पिता के समान उन्हें सुधारने वाला होना चाहिए। हमने यह भी देखा है कि प्रभु भोज को प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए उसके मूल स्वरूप - सभी के लिए एक ही रोटी और एक ही कटोरे में से भाग लेना चाहिए। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि प्रभु की मेज़ में हर बात और परिस्थिति के लिए परमेश्वर के प्रति धन्यवादी होकर, उस पर भरोसा बनाए रख कर भाग लेना है। आज हम पद 24 और 25 के अन्त में लिखी बात - प्रभु के स्मरण के लिए इसमें भाग लेने के बारे में देखेंगे।
4. प्रभु-भोज के लिए प्रभु के निर्देश - उद्देश्य - पद 23-26 - (भाग 3)
बहुत से लोगों की यह धारणा है कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने से उनके पापों का निवारण हो जाता है, क्योंकि कि प्रभु की पवित्र, निष्पाप, और निष्कलंक देह के चिह्न उनके अन्दर आ जाते हैं। लेकिन यह उनकी काल्पनिक धारणा के अतिरिक्त और कुछ नहीं है। बाइबल में इसका कोई समर्थन नहीं है; प्रभु यीशु ने मेज़ को स्थापित करते समय ऐसा कुछ नहीं कहा; और पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस में होकर जो मेज़ के बारे में शिक्षाएं और निर्देश दिए, उनमें भी ऐसा कुछ नहीं कहा गया है। परमेश्वर के वचन, बाइबल में से देख लीजिए, 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:24-25 पदों के अन्त में प्रभु की ओर से यही कहा गया है “...मेरे स्मरण के लिये यही किया करो।” न तो प्रभु ने ऐसा कभी कहा, और न ही वचन में कहीं कोई संकेत भी दिया गया है कि प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने से व्यक्ति शुद्ध, पवित्र, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य, और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश के योग्य हो जाता है। लोगों में इस धारणा के पीछे, कि प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने से उनके पापों की समस्या का निवारण हो जाएगा, एक और गलत धारणा है। प्रेरितों के काम पुस्तक तथा पौलुस की पत्रियों के अध्ययन से सामने आने वाली बातों में से एक महत्वपूर्ण बात यह भी है कि उस समय के लोगों में, विशेषकर उन में जो यहूदियों में से मसीही विश्वास में आए थे, यह एक बहुत प्रबल किन्तु सर्वथा गलत धारणा थी कि मसीही विश्वासी होने के साथ ही, व्यवस्था का पालन करना भी अनिवार्य है। और यहूदियों में से मसीही विश्वास में आए हुए लोग, अन्य-जातियों में से मसीही विश्वास में आने वालों को व्यवस्था का भी पालन करने के लिए ज़ोर दिया करते थे। प्रेरितों 15 अध्याय में हम देखते हैं कि यरूशलेम में प्रेरितों ने स्पष्ट निर्देश दे दिए थे कि ऐसा करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है; किन्तु यह धारणा फिर भी समस्या उत्पन्न करती रहती थी। पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस द्वारा रोमियों 3:19-21 में स्पष्ट किया है कि व्यवस्था का अपना एक महत्व है, और उसे उसी महत्व के अनुसार लेना चाहिए।

प्रभु ने उसकी मृत्यु को बारम्बार स्मरण करते रहने के लिए भी इसी अभिप्राय से कहा है। ताकि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेते समय प्रभु के लोग यह समझ और स्मरण बनाए रख सकें कि वे अपने किसी भी प्रकार के कामों या अपने द्वारा गढ़ी हुई धार्मिकता के द्वारा धर्मी नहीं बने हैं। वे केवल प्रभु यीशु द्वारा उनके पापों को अपने ऊपर लेकर, उनके स्थान पर मृत्यु दण्ड सहने के द्वारा, प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास लाने और उसे पूर्ण समर्पण करने से धर्मी और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बने हैं। इसीलिए पवित्र आत्मा ने 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:24-25 में केवल प्रभु की देह और लहू नहीं लिखवाया है। वरन तोड़ी गई रोटी को उसकी तोड़ी गई देह और कुचले गए दाख के रस को उसका बहाया गया लहू जताया है; अर्थात प्रभु के यातनाएं सहने और मारे जाने को याद करने के लिए कहा है। प्रभु भोज का, प्रभु की मेज़ का यह उद्देश्य हमें यह याद दिलाते रहना भी है कि हमारे पापों से बचाए जाने के लिए, क्या कीमत चुकाई गई। इतनी भारी कीमत चुकाने से मिले छुटकारे को हल्के में नहीं लिया जा सकता है; उसकी यादगार को एक रस्म, एक औपचारिकता नहीं बनाया जा सकता है; इस यादगार के साथ मनमानी नहीं की जा सकती है; नहीं तो जवाबदेही बहुत भारी पड़ेगी। इसीलिए इब्रानियों 2:3 में लिखा है “तो हम लोग ऐसे बड़े उद्धार से निश्चिन्त रह कर क्योंकर बच सकते हैं? जिस की चर्चा पहिले पहल प्रभु के द्वारा हुई, और सुनने वालों के द्वारा हमें निश्चय हुआ।”
अगले लेख में हम प्रभु की मेज़ के एक और उद्देश्य, उसकी मृत्यु के प्रचार के बारे में देखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 3 - Breaking of Bread (7)

To live a practical Christian life, it is essential for every Christian Believer to follow the instructions given in God's Word. In Acts 2 and 15, some instructions are given regarding practical Christian living, and by following them the then Christian Believers and churches had been edified, matured in their spiritual life, and grew in numbers. There are seven things given in Acts 2, four of which, also called the “Pillars of the Christian Living,” are given in Acts 2:42. We are seeing and learning under seven points about the sixth of these seven things, the third of the four pillars – the “breaking of bread,” i.e., partaking of the Lord's Supper or the Lord's Table. God's Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 has provided the main teachings regarding proper participation in the Lord's Supper. We are currently learning about the fourth point from 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 about the behavior of the Christian Believers for properly partaking of the Lord's table. So far, we have seen that Christians must be humble and willing to be corrected by their church leaders. At the same time, the church leaders should function as shepherds, giving correct teachings of God’s Word to their congregation with patience and forbearance; and correcting them like a spiritual father. We have also seen that the Lord's Supper should be partaken in its original form, as had been given by the Lord – one bread and one cup for all. In the previous article we saw that those partaking of the Lord's table should always remain thankful to God for everything, and always trust in Him in all circumstances. Today we will look at that which is written at the end of verses 24 and 25 – about participating in the remembrance of the Lord.
4. The Lord's instructions for the Lord's Table - Purpose - verses 23-26 - (Part 3)
Many people believe that partaking of the Lord's Supper takes away their sins because the representations of the Lord's holy, sinless, and unblemished body have entered into them. But this is nothing more than an imaginary idea on their part. There is no support for this in the Bible; the Lord Jesus did not say anything like this when establishing the table; and nothing like this is said in the teachings and instructions regarding the table that the Holy Spirit gave through Paul. Look in God's Word, the Bible, at the end of 1 Corinthians 11:24-25 this is what the Lord says "...do this in remembrance of me." The Lord never said, nor is there any indication in Scripture, that partaking of the Lord's Supper will make a person pure, holy, acceptable to God, and eligible to enter heaven. There is another misconception that is behind people's belief that partaking of the Lord's Table will absolve them of their sins. One of the important things that emerges from a study of the book of Acts and Paul's letters is that there was a very strong but completely wrong belief among the people of that time, especially among those who came to Christianity from among the Jews. The belief was that in addition to being a Christian Believer, it was also essential for them to follow the Law. And the Jewish converts to Christianity used to pressurize the Gentile converts to follow the Law as well. In Acts chapter 15 we see that the Apostles in Jerusalem had given clear instructions that there was no need to do this; but this notion still continued to cause problems. The Holy Spirit made clear through Paul in Romans 3:19-21 that the Law has its own place and importance, and it should be considered in accordance with that.
The law is a God given measure, the standard for assessing man's sinful condition; it does not provide any remission of sins. The law is given to man to show him his true spiritual condition. Man comes to recognize his true spiritual condition when he comes before the Law, as we see from Nehemiah chapters 8 and 9, and the example of King Josiah (2 Kings chapter 22, and 2 Chronicles chapter 34, especially see 2 Chronicles 34:19). The Law, and the Prophets, together testify to the righteousness of God, which is revealed in the Lord Jesus. Also, as the author of the letter to the Hebrews says in Hebrews 10:1-3, by keeping the things of the Law, the people were reminded of their sins. So, it was necessary for God's people of that time, the Jews, to know and keep the Law, so that they would remain aware of their actual spiritual condition. Keeping the Law in mind was meant to remind them of their spiritual condition, and of the righteousness they receive from God.
The Lord has also said to keep remembering his death again and again, with the same intention. So that when partaking of the Lord's Supper the Lord's people may understand and remember that they have not been made righteous by any of their own works or by any of their contrived righteousness. They have become righteous and acceptable to God only through coming to faith in the Lord Jesus taking their sins upon Himself, bearing the death penalty for them, and fully submitting themselves to Him. That is why the Holy Spirit, in 1 Corinthians 11:24-25, has not just written the body and blood of the Lord. Rather, has written about the broken bread as representing the Lord’s broken body, and the wine from the crushed grapes representing His shed blood; i.e., it is to remember the Lord's suffering and death. The purpose of the Lord's Supper, of the Lord's Table, is also to remind us of the price that was paid to save us from our sins. The redemption that came through paying such a heavy price cannot be taken lightly; its remembrance cannot be made a ritual, a formality; This memorial cannot be tampered with; otherwise, the accountability will be very heavy. That is why it is written in Hebrews 2:3 "how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him."

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
