बाइबल के अनुसार भविष्यवाणी के अर्थ
इफिसियों 4:11 में कलीसिया की उन्नति के लिए प्रभु द्वारा नियुक्त किए गए पाँच प्रकार के सेवकों या कार्यकर्ताओं और उनकी सेवकाई या कार्यों के विषय में सूची दी गई है, कहा गया है। मूल यूनानी भाषा में इनके लिए प्रयोग किए गए शब्दों के आधार पर, ये पाँचों कार्यकर्ता और उनके कार्य, वचन की सेवकाई से संबंधित हैं। इनमें से पहले, प्रेरितों, के बारे में हम पहले विस्तार से देख चुके हैं कि वर्तमान में जो लोग अपने आप को प्रेरित घोषित करते हैं, और इसे उपाधि के अनुसार प्रयोग करके ईसाई या मसीही समाज में आदर, सम्मान, और उच्च स्थान प्राप्त करने या दिखाने का यत्न करते हैं, वह “प्रेरित” शब्द के परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में किए गए प्रयोग और अभिप्राय के अनुरूप नहीं है। सूची के दूसरे कार्यकर्ता या सेवक हैं भविष्यद्वक्ता, जिनके बारे में हमने पिछले लेख से देखना आरंभ किया है। हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में परमेश्वर के लोगों के मध्य भावी कहने या भविष्य की बातें बताने वाले परमेश्वर की ओर से नियुक्त किए गए भविष्यद्वक्ता, अन्य सेवकाइयों की तुलना में बहुत कम रहे हैं। परमेश्वर ने जब अपने लोगों के मध्य इन भविष्यद्वक्ताओं को खड़ा किया, तब ऐसा परमेश्वर और उसके वचन से विमुख हो चुके उसके लोगों पर, उनके किए के कारण उन पर आने वाले परमेश्वर के प्रकोप और दण्ड के विषय सचेत करने और उन लोगों को अवसर एवं समय रहते परमेश्वर की ओर लौट आने के लिए उकसाने के लिए किया। बाइबल में बताए गए परमेश्वर के ये भविष्यद्वक्ता लोगों के मनोरंजन के लिए, उनकी मन-पसंद बातें सुनाने, उनके कानों की खुजली मिटाने (2 तीमुथियुस 4:3) के लिए कार्य नहीं करते थे। बाइबल में उल्लेखित सभी भविष्यद्वक्ता परमेश्वर द्वारा खड़े और नियुक्त किए गए थे, और उनमें से अधिकांशतः इस कार्य को करना ही नहीं चाहते थे, उन्होंने भरसक प्रयास किया कि परमेश्वर उन्हें इस दायित्व से मुक्त कर दे; उन्होंने परमेश्वर के सामने बहाने बनाए, उसे अपनी दुर्बलताएं बताईं, कि किसी प्रकार परमेश्वर यह समझ जाए कि वे कितने योग्य हैं और उन्हें इस दायित्व से मुक्त कर दे। बाइबल के परमेश्वर के भविष्यद्वक्ताओं में से कोई भी ऐसा नहीं था, जिसने स्वयं ही इस सेवकाई को अपना लिया हो, या फिर अपनी या कुछ अन्य मनुष्यों, अथवा किसी मत या समुदाय के कहने पर भविष्यद्वक्ता बन बैठा हो। परमेश्वर के इन सभी भविष्यद्वक्ताओं को, उनके सन्देश के कारण, सामान्यतः अपने समय के लोगों के विरोध और तिरस्कार का सामना करना पड़ा; उन्हें अपनी सेवकाई के दौरान निरंतर दुःख उठाने पड़े, ताड़नाएँ सहनी पडीं, किन्तु फिर भी परमेश्वर के कहे के अनुसार सेवकाई को करना पड़ा। आज के इन तथाकथित “भविष्यद्वक्ताओं” के विपरीत, परमेश्वर के भविष्यद्वक्ताओं को अपने समय के समाज और परमेश्वर के लोगों से जिनके मध्य उन्हें सेवकाई के लिए भेजा गया था नाम, संपत्ति, और प्रसिद्धि नहीं, वरन बदनामी, विरोध और परेशानी ही मिले।
पुराने और नए नियम की मूल इब्रानी और यूनानी भाषाओं के जिन शब्दों का अनुवाद भविष्यद्वक्ता या Prophet और भविष्यवाणी या Prophesy किया गया है, आम धारणा के विपरीत उनका शब्दार्थ हमेशा ही भावी कहना या भविष्य के बातें बताना ही नहीं होता है। मोटे तौर पर इन शब्दों का अभिप्राय होता है “सामने बोलना”, जहाँ “सामने” से “आने वाले समय के बारे में” नहीं वरन अभिप्राय “समक्ष” का रहता है; अर्थात किसी व्यक्ति या समूह के सामने, या समक्ष, या सम्मुख खड़े होकर उन्हें संबोधित करना, उनसे कुछ कहना। साथ ही आवश्यक नहीं कि जो बोला जाए वह लेख के समान गद्य ही हो, वह गीत या कविता/पद्य भी हो सकता है। और बाइबल में ये शब्द केवल यहोवा परमेश्वर के सेवकों और उनकी सेवकाइयों के लिए ही प्रयोग नहीं किए गए हैं; वरन अन्य देवी-देवताओं के उपासकों और उनके कार्य के लिए भी प्रयोग किए गए हैं।
परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से भविष्यद्वक्ता और भविष्यवाणी शब्दों के प्रयोग के कुछ उदाहरण देखते हैं:
किसी देवी-देवता को पुकारना: 1राजा 18:29 “वे दोपहर भर ही क्या, वरन भेंट चढ़ाने के समय तक नबूवत करते रहे, परन्तु कोई शब्द सुन न पड़ा; और न तो किसी ने उत्तर दिया और न कान लगाया” - एल्लियाह से मिली चुनौती के अंतर्गत बाल देवता के नबी अपने देवता को भरसक पुकारते रहे।
अपने शब्दों के द्वारा लोगों को आश्वस्त करना, शांत या सांत्वना देना: 1कुरिन्थियों 14:3 “परन्तु जो भविष्यवाणी करता है, वह मनुष्यों से उन्नति, और उपदेश, और शान्ति की बातें कहता है।”
परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई आज्ञा को बोलना और मानना:
यहेजकेल 37:4 “तब उसने मुझ से कहा, इन हड्डियों से भविष्यवाणी कर के कह, हे सूखी हड्डियों, यहोवा का वचन सुनो।”
यहेजकेल 37:9-10 तब उसने मुझ से कहा, हे मनुष्य के सन्तान सांस से भविष्यवाणी कर, और सांस से भविष्यवाणी कर के कह, हे सांस, परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है कि चारों दिशाओं से आकर इन घात किए हुओं में समा जा कि ये जी उठें। उसकी इस आज्ञा के अनुसार मैं ने भविष्यवाणी की, तब सांस उन में आ गई, ओर वे जीकर अपने अपने पांवों के बल खड़े हो गए; और एक बहुत बड़ी सेना हो गई।
परमेश्वर की ओर से आने वाली घटनाओं और बातों के बारे में बताना:
यहेजकेल 36:1, 3 “फिर हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, तू इस्राएल के पहाड़ों से भविष्यवाणी कर के कह, हे इस्राएल के पहाड़ों, यहोवा का वचन सुनो। इस कारण भविष्यवाणी कर के कह, परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता हे, लोगों ने जो तुम्हें उजाड़ा और चारों ओर से तुम्हें ऐसा निगल लिया कि तुम बची हुई जातियों का अधिकार हो जाओ, और लुतरे तुम्हारी चर्चा करते और साधारण लोग तुम्हारी निन्दा करते हैं;
यहेजकेल 37:12-14 इस कारण भविष्यवाणी कर के उन से कह, परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, हे मेरी प्रजा के लोगों, देखो, मैं तुम्हारी कब्रें खोल कर तुम को उन से निकालूंगा, और इस्राएल के देश में पहुंचा दूंगा। सो जब मैं तुम्हारी कब्रें खोलूं, और तुम को उन से निकालूं, तब हे मेरी प्रजा के लोगों, तुम जान लोगे कि मैं यहोवा हूँ। और मैं तुम में अपना आत्मा समाऊंगा, और तुम जीओगे, और तुम को तुम्हारे निज देश में बसाऊंगा; तब तुम जान लोगे कि मुझ यहोवा ही ने यह कहा, और किया भी है, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।
परमेश्वर के प्रभाव में आकर उसके निर्देश के अनुसार बोलना:
अमोस 3:8 “सिंह गरजा; कौन न डरेगा? परमेश्वर यहोवा बोला; कौन भविष्यवाणी न करेगा”?
यहेजकेल 36:6 इस कारण इस्राएल के देश के विषय में भविष्यवाणी कर के पहाड़ों, पहाडिय़ों, नालों, और तराइयों से कह, परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, देखो, तुम ने जातियों की निन्दा सही है, इस कारण मैं अपनी बड़ी जलजलाहट से बोला हूँ।
आराधना, स्तुति करना, और आराधना के लिए संगीत वाद्य बजाना: 1इतिहास 25:1-6 “फिर दाऊद और सेनापतियों ने आसाप, हेमान और यदूतून के कितने पुत्रों को सेवकाई के लिये अलग किया कि वे वीणा, सारंगी और झांझ बजा बजाकर नबूवत करें। और इस सेवकाई के काम करने वाले मनुष्यों की गिनती यह थी: अर्थात आसाप के पुत्रों में से तो जक्कूर, योसेप, नतन्याह और अशरेला, आसाप के ये पुत्र आसाप ही की आज्ञा में थे, जो राजा की आज्ञा के अनुसार नबूवत करता था। फिर यदूतून के पुत्रों में से गदल्याह, सरीयशायाह, हसब्याह, मत्तित्याह, ये ही छ: अपने पिता यदूतून की आज्ञा में हो कर जो यहोवा का धन्यवाद और स्तुति कर कर के नबूवत करता था, वीणा बजाते थे। और हेमान के पुत्रों में से, मुक्किय्याह, मत्तन्याह, लज्जीएल, शबूएल, यरीमोत, हनन्याह, हनानी, एलीआता, गिद्दलती, रोममतीएजेर, योशबकाशा, मल्लोती, होतीर और महजीओत। परमेश्वर की प्रतिज्ञानुकूल जो उसका नाम बढ़ाने की थी, ये सब हेमान के पुत्र थे जो राजा का दर्शी था; क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने हेमान को चौदह बेटे और तीन बेटियां दीं थीं। ये सब यहोवा के भवन में गाने के लिये अपने अपने पिता के आधीन रह कर, परमेश्वर के भवन, की सेवकाई में झांझ, सारंगी और वीणा बजाते थे। और आसाप, यदूतून और हेमान राजा के आधीन रहते थे।”
किसी गुप्त या अनजानी बात को बताना: लूका 22:64 “और उस की आंखे ढांपकर उस से पूछा, कि भविष्यवाणी कर के बता कि तुझे किसने मारा” - प्रभु यीशु मसीह को पकड़ने के बाद उसका का ठट्ठा करते समय उससे उपहास करते हुए पूछना।
ये “भविष्यद्वक्ता” और “भविष्यवाणी” शब्दों के बाइबल में विभिन्न अभिप्रायों के प्रयोग को दिखाने के लिए केवल उदाहरणस्वरूप लिए गए बाइबल के कुछ पद हैं; संपूर्ण सूची नहीं। साथ ही ध्यान कीजिए कि बाइबल में भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और उनकी बातों के उदाहरणों के आधार पर यह भी प्रकट और स्पष्ट है कि परमेश्वर द्वारा नियुक्त भविष्यद्वक्ता की कही हर बात भी “भविष्यवाणी” नहीं होती थी। बाइबल में “भविष्यवाणी” केवल उसे ही कहा गया है जो परमेश्वर के उस भविष्यद्वक्ता ने परमेश्वर के कहे पर और उसकी ओर से कहा है। कई बार भविष्यद्वक्ताओं ने अपनी भावनाएं और विचार भी व्यक्त किए, किन्तु उन सभी बातों को “भविष्यवाणी” नहीं कहा गया है। और न ही यह अनिवार्य है कि परमेश्वर का नियुक्त भविष्यद्वक्ता यदि कुछ कहेगा, तो परमेश्वर उसकी हर बात को मानने और पूरा करने के लिए बाध्य है। इन बातों का एक अच्छा उदाहरण है 2 शमूएल 7 अध्याय में दाऊद द्वारा परमेश्वर के लिए भवन बनवाने की लालसा रखना, उसे व्यक्त करना, और नातान नबी द्वारा दाऊद की इस इच्छा का अनुमोदन करना। किन्तु परमेश्वर ने दाऊद और नातान दोनों ही की इस बात को अस्वीकार कर दिया, यद्यपि वे दोनों उसके जन थे, उससे प्रेम करते थे, और परमेश्वर के आदर एवं महिमा के लिए कुछ करने की इच्छा रखते थे, और परमेश्वर की सेवकाई में संलग्न थे। परमेश्वर ने उन दोनों को अपने लोग, अपने नबी होने से तिरस्कार नहीं किया, किन्तु उनकी लालसा को स्वीकार करने और मानने के लिए भी परमेश्वर बाध्य नहीं बना। इसलिए हर “भविष्यद्वक्ता” की हर बात “भविष्यवाणी” नहीं है, चाहे वह बात परमेश्वर के आदर और महिमा के लिए ही क्यों न कही गई हो; और न ही हर बात परमेश्वर की ओर से पूरी होगी, जब तक कि उस “भविष्यद्वक्ता” ने परमेश्वर की ओर से और उसकी अधीनता में होकर वह बात न कही हो।
आज ईसाई या मसीही समाज में, विशेषकर उन समुदायों और डिनॉमिनेशंस में जो परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में गलत शिक्षाएं बताते और सिखाते रहते हैं, ऐसे लोगों की कमी नहीं है जो अपने आप को “नबी” या “भविष्यद्वक्ता” कहते हैं, और परमेश्वर के नाम से कुछ भी कहते रहते हैं। उनका मुख्य ध्येय अपने आप को उच्च और प्रशंसनीय बनाना तथा परमेश्वर के नाम, काम, और उसके वचन के द्वारा अपने लिए सांसारिक लाभ, संपत्ति, यश, ओहदा, आदि एकत्रित करना होता है। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की गलत समझ और गलत उपयोग से बचें। वचन की सही समझ और सही उपयोग आपके लिए आत्मिक उन्नति और आशीष का कारण होगा, किन्तु गलत समझ और गलत उपयोग बहुत हानिकारक होगा। इसलिए यदि आप किसी गलत शिक्षा अथवा धारणा में पड़े हुए हैं, तो स्थिति को जाँच-परखकर अभी समय और अवसर के रहते उससे बाहर निकल आएं, आवश्यक सुधार कर लें।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Biblical Meanings of Prophesying
We have seen that in Ephesians 4:11 a list five kinds of ministries and their workers appointed by the Lord Jesus for the growth and edification of His church is given. The words used for them in the original Greek language, in context of the Church and the Christian Faith, all imply various ministries and functions related to the ministry of the Word of God. We have seen in detail about the first of these, i.e., the Apostles, and have seen how and why those people who, presently, call themselves as “Apostles” and use this term as a title to gain name, fame, and temporal benefits in Christendom, are not actually using this term in accordance with its Biblical use. The second ministry and workers of this list are the “Prophets”, and we had seen some Biblical facts about them in the previous article. We saw that in God’s Word the Bible, in comparison to those engaged in other ministries, the God appointed “foretellers of events” amongst God’s people, as the “Prophets” are generally thought of, have been very few and far in-between. Whenever God raised up these “Prophets” - the “foretellers of events”, it was to warn people about their wayward behavior and forsaking God for worldliness, to provoke them to turn back to God, or else be ready to face God’s impending judgment and destruction upon them for their sins. These Biblical Prophets of God, did not function to entertain people, or to tell them pleasing things according to their liking, or to speak to the people to satisfy their ‘itching ears’ (2Timothy 4:3). Each and every Prophet mentioned in the Bible was raised up and appointed by God, and generally speaking, hardly anyone was willing to accept this responsibility and function as God’s Prophet; they usually tried their utmost to somehow wriggle out of this God given responsibility, and pleaded to God using various excuses that God would realize how unworthy they were and relieve them from this office. Amongst the Prophets of God mentioned in the Bible, there was not one single Prophet who took this responsibility upon himself on his own, or became a “Prophet” at the behest of some person, or group of persons, or any sect or institution. All these Prophets of God, because of their message, had to face the rejection and opposition of the people of their times and place; they continually had to suffer problems and persecution throughout their ministry, and yet carry on in their ministry, doing what God asked them to do. Contrary to our present day “Prophets”, those Prophets of God did not get any name, fame, and worldly possessions from the people and society of their times; instead they all received slander, opposition, and problems from God’s people amongst whom they were sent to minister.
The words used in the original Hebrew and Greek languages of the Old and the New Testaments respectively, and translated as “Prophet” and “Prophesy”, contrary to common belief, do not necessarily mean to foretell things, i.e., tell about events before they happen. Generally speaking, the words used in the original languages imply “to speak before” - which could be to speak or say something before, i.e., in the presence of someone, or to address, i.e., speak to some persons; or to be able to tell beforehand what would happen sometime later. Moreover, what they said, was not necessarily in prose, it could as well be in verse or in poetry. Also, the words “Prophet” and “Prophesy”, have not been used in the Bible, only for the workers of the Lord God Jehovah and their ministries, but also for the worshippers other deities and their deeds.
Let us look at some examples of the usage, meaning, and implications of the words “Prophet” and “Prophesy” from the Bible:
To call unto some deity: 1Kings 18:29 “And when midday was past, they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice. But there was no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention.” The prophets of Baal called out to their deity; but in vain.
To comfort and assure people through speaking to them: 1Corinthians 14:3 “But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.”
To speak out and obey God’s commandments:
Ezekiel 37:4 “Again He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, 'O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!’”
Ezekiel 37:9-10 Also He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live." ' " So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.”
To foretell about the future events, from God:
Ezekiel 36:1, 3 "And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, 'O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord! therefore prophesy, and say, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Because they made you desolate and swallowed you up on every side, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and you are taken up by the lips of talkers and slandered by the people"
Ezekiel 37:12-14 “Therefore prophesy and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it," says the Lord.' "
To speak under the power and influence of God, according to His instructions:
Amos 3:8 “A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?”
Ezekiel 36:6 “Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains, the hills, the rivers, and the valleys, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations."
To praise and worship God, and to play musical instruments for worshipping: 1Chronicles 25:1-6 “Moreover David and the captains of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, stringed instruments, and cymbals. And the number of the skilled men performing their service was: Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah; he sons of Asaph were under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied according to the order of the king. Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp to give thanks and to praise the Lord. Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth. All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to exalt his horn. For God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. All these were under the direction of their father for the music in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and harps, for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the authority of the king.”
To tell about some secret or unknown thing: Luke 22:64 “They blindfolded him and demanded, "Prophesy! Who hit you?"”
These are just a few representative, sample verses, and not an exhaustive list from the Bible to illustrate the varying meanings of the words “Prophet” and “Prophesy.” Also take note that it is evident from these examples whatever the appointed Prophet of God spoke, was not necessarily a “prophesy.” In the Bible, a prophesy is only that which the prophet speaks under the instructions of God, God giving him the contents of the prophetic message. Many times, the Prophets of God have expressed their own views and feelings about various things, but these have not been called “prophesies.” Another thing to bear in mind is that it is not necessarily true that whatever God’s prophet says or advises in the name of God, would always be from God and worthy of being obeyed. A good example of this is in 2Samuel chapter 7 of King David expressing to God’s Prophet Nathan his desire of building a Temple for God, and Nathan agreeing with David, approving David’s desire. But God rejected this desire of both David and Nathan, although both of them loved God, wanted to honor and exalt God, both of them were people and prophets of God, and in active service of God. In refusing to accept their desire, God did not reject them as His appointees and Prophets, but neither was God under any compulsion to act according to whatever they said, even if it was for the worship and glory of God. Therefore, everything that a “Prophet” says need not necessarily be from God, nor will it automatically be considered as “Prophesy”; even though it may be said for the honor and glory of God. Nor will God fulfill everything that a “Prophet” says, unless and until that “Prophet” has actually said something that God asked him to say, under the power of God.
Today, in Christendom, especially amongst those groups, sects, and denominations who keep preaching and teaching wrong doctrines and false teachings about God the Holy Spirit, there is no dearth of people who call themselves as “prophets”, are self-appointed or man-appointed to this position, and keep saying anything that comes to their mind as a “prophesy from God.” But their main purpose is to gain prominence, to become famous and acquire a name and following; they use the name of God, His Word, and things done in his name to acquire worldly benefits and possessions, name, fame, and status in the society, and rise to a position of having authority over people. If you are a Christian Believer, then it is essential for you to recognize and beware of the misunderstandings and misuse of God’s Word and name. Having a correct understanding and using God’s Word worthily will be a blessing for you and help you in your spiritual growth; but misuse and propagating misunderstandings will be deleterious and catastrophic. Therefore, check and evaluate what you acccept and believe in, and if you are caught up and involved in some wrong doctrines and false teachings, in misconceptions and wrong notions, then now, while God is giving you the time and opportunity to rectify your beliefs and situation and come out of the wrong things, do so; lest by the time you realize and decide to do so, it is very late and beyond the point of correction.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
