मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 1 - वचन (5)
हमने प्रेरितों 2:42 में दिए गए “मसीही जीवन के स्तम्भ” में से प्रथम, अर्थात, परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन पर विचार करते हुए, देखा है कि यद्यपि यह परमेश्वर की आज्ञा है, और आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासियों की तुलना में, जो परमेश्वर के वचन को न केवल सुनने वरन उसे सीखने और उसका पालन करने में लौलीन रहते थे, आज के मसीही उनसे अधिक सुविधाजनक स्थिति में हैं, फिर भी अधिकाँश मसीही यह नहीं करते हैं। उस समय के उन मसीही विश्वासियों के परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने, उसे अपने जीवनों में लागू करने, और उसे औरों को सिखाने तथा पहुँचाने के प्रति प्रतिबद्ध होने के कारण न केवल उनके अपने मसीही जीवन की उन्नति हुई, बल्कि कलीसिया भी बढ़ी। कलीसिया इस लिए बढ़ी क्योंकि जैसा हमने प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में पतरस द्वारा भक्त यहूदियों को दिए गए सन्देश से देखा था, जब सुसमाचार प्रभु यीशु के बारे में पवित्रशास्त्र में दी गई बातों पर आधारित होता है, तब प्रभावशाली भी होता है। पवित्रशास्त्र पर आधारित सुसमाचार प्रचार, सुनने वालों के मनों को तैयार करता है, और फिर पवित्र आत्मा उनके मनों को उनके पापों के लिए कायल करता है, उन्हें पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु में विश्वास करने पर लेकर आता है। इसलिए, यदि मसीही विश्वासियों को प्रभावी सुसमाचार प्रचारक होना है, तो उन्हें न केवल परमेश्वर के वचन में स्थापित होना होगा, बल्कि उनके द्वारा दिया जाने वाला सुसमाचार भी पवित्रशास्त्र में प्रभु के बारे में दी गई बातों पर आधारित होना होगा।
किन्तु इस तरह का सुसमाचार प्रचार आज के समय में बहुत कम ही देखने को मिलता है। इसके स्थान पर, हम आज के प्रचारकों को देखते हैं कि वे स्वयं के विज्ञापन करते हैं, अपनी उपलब्धियों का बखान कर अपनी बड़ाई करते हैं, और लोगों को चिह्न, अद्भुत काम, चमत्कार, चंगाइयों, और अन्य ऐसी बातों के आश्वासन देने के द्वारा भीड़ एकत्रित करने लगे रहते हैं। इस प्रकार की सभाओं में वास्तविक सुसमाचार का, श्रोताओं के पापी होने की वास्तविक दशा का, और उनसे पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करने के लिए या तो कभी कहा ही नहीं जाता है, या फिर दबा हुआ सा, हल्का से एक उल्लेख मात्र कर दिया जाता है। उनके द्वारा प्राथमिक महत्व लोगों की शारीरिक बातों, अर्थात चिह्न, अद्भुत काम, चमत्कार, चंगाइयों, और अन्य ऐसी बातों के प्रति होता है। जो लोग यह सोचते हैं कि ऐसा करने, सुसमाचार को और पापों के लिए कायल करने को दबा देने के द्वारा, वे प्रभु की सेवा कर रहे हैं, उन्हें मत्ती 7:21-23 पर मनन करना चाहिए। जो ये सोचते हैं कि चिह्न, अद्भुत काम, चमत्कार, चंगाइयों, और अन्य ऐसी बातों में उनकी रुचि, प्रभु में उनकी रुचि होने का प्रमाण है, उन्हें उस पर विचार करना चाहिए जो प्रभु ने इन बातों के बारे में कहा “उसने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, कि इस युग के बुरे और व्यभिचारी लोग चिन्ह ढूंढ़ते हैं; परन्तु यूनुस भविष्यद्वक्ता के चिन्ह को छोड़ कोई और चिन्ह उन को न दिया जाएगा” (मत्ती 12:39)। पवित्र आत्मा आने भी अन्त के दिनों में लोगों में ऐसी प्रवृत्ति होने के बारे में 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:9-12 में चेतावनी दी है “उस अधर्मी का आना शैतान के कार्य के अनुसार सब प्रकार की झूठी सामर्थ्य, और चिन्ह, और अद्भुत काम के साथ। और नाश होने वालों के लिये अधर्म के सब प्रकार के धोखे के साथ होगा; क्योंकि उन्होंने सत्य के प्रेम को ग्रहण नहीं किया जिस से उन का उद्धार होता। और इसी कारण परमेश्वर उन में एक भटका देने वाली सामर्थ्य को भेजेगा ताकि वे झूठ की प्रतीति करें। और जितने लोग सत्य की प्रतीति नहीं करते, वरन अधर्म से प्रसन्न होते हैं, सब दण्ड पाएं।” वे जो परमेश्वर के वचन के उसकी सच्चाई और खराई में प्रचार तथा प्रसार की बजाए, चिह्न, अद्भुत काम, चमत्कार, चंगाइयों, और अन्य ऐसी बातों में भरोसा और रुचि रखते हैं, अपनी गलत प्राथमिकताओं के कारण वे धोखा खाएंगे और नाश हो जाएँगे। इसलिए, किसी भी ओर से देखें, मसीही विश्वासी के द्वारा बाइबल का अध्ययन करने की आवश्यकता और प्राथमिकता की अनदेखी नहीं की जा सकती है।
वर्तमान में ज़ारी हमारे विषय, बाइबल अध्ययन क्यों करना चाहिए, में हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि यह प्रभु यीशु के बारे में जानने और सीखने के लिए करना चाहिए। पिछले लेख के अन्त में हमने कहा था कि प्रत्येक मसीही के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करने और उसमें होकर प्रभु यीशु के बारे में सीखने के कुछ बहुत बड़े लाभ और सुविधाएँ हैं। इन लाभ और सुविधाओं के बारे में प्रेरित पतरस ने अपनी दूसरी पत्री में लिखा है; किन्तु इनका प्रचार और शिक्षा आज के धार्मिक अगुवों और प्रचारकों के द्वारा शायद ही कभी दी जाती है; और उनके द्वारा तो कभी नहीं किया जाता है जो मसीहियत का उपयोग केवल भौतिक या शारीरिक बातों, लाभ, और सुविधाओं को अर्जित करने के लिए करते हैं, किन्तु प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास करने से मिलने वाले उद्धार तथा आत्मिक लाभ और सुविधाओं के बारे में बात नहीं करते हैं। इससे पहले कि हम उन लाभ और सुविधाओं को देखें, यह ध्यान में रखना अच्छा रहेगा कि पतरस ने अपनी पत्रियाँ उन मसीही विश्वासियों को लिखी थीं जो अपने मसीही विश्वास के कारण घोर सताव से होकर निकल रहे थे, और स्थान-स्थान पर तित्तर-बित्तर कर दिए गए थे (1 पतरस 1:1-2)। पतरस उन्हें प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए, उनके सताए जाने के बावजूद, उनकी वास्तविक दशा और आते समय में उनकी स्थिति उन्हें याद दिलाता है (1 पतरस 1:3-6)।
पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, प्रेरित पतरस ने लिखा, “परमेश्वर के और हमारे प्रभु यीशु की पहचान के द्वारा अनुग्रह और शान्ति तुम में बहुतायत से बढ़ती जाए। क्योंकि उसके ईश्वरीय सामर्थ्य ने सब कुछ जो जीवन और भक्ति से सम्बन्ध रखता है, हमें उसी की पहचान के द्वारा दिया है, जिसने हमें अपनी ही महिमा और सद्गुण के अनुसार बुलाया है। जिन के द्वारा उसने हमें बहुमूल्य और बहुत ही बड़ी प्रतिज्ञाएं दी हैं: ताकि इन के द्वारा तुम उस सड़ाहट से छूट कर जो संसार में बुरी अभिलाषाओं से होती है, ईश्वरीय स्वभाव के सम्भागी हो जाओ” (2 पतरस 1:2-4)। इन तीन पदों में परमेश्वर के वचन में सात आशीषें दी गई हैं जो उन पर आती और बहुतायत से बढ़ती जाती हैं जो “हमारे प्रभु यीशु की पहचान” और “उसी की पहचान के द्वारा दिया है, जिसने हमें अपनी ही महिमा और सद्गुण के अनुसार बुलाया है” में बने रहते हैं। ये आशीषें हैं:

हम इन लाभ और सुविधाओं को एक-एक करके विस्तार से नहीं देखेंगे; लेकिन इन सातों पर हमें मनन करना चाहिए। हम कुछ बातों पर थोड़ा सा देखेंगे। सँख्या 3 और 4 में आया है कि मसीही विश्वासी को वह सब कुछ जो जीवन भक्ति से सम्बन्धित है दे दिया गया है। ध्यान कीजिए कि यह पूरा किया गया कार्य है, न कि भविष्य में होने वाली किसी बात का आश्वासन। दूसरे शब्दों में, मसीही विश्वासी को अपना जीवन जीने तथा भक्तिपूर्ण होने के लिए जो कुछ भी आवश्यक है, वह सभी परमेश्वर के द्वारा उसे मसीह यीशु की पहचान के द्वारा दे दिया गया है। अर्थात, परमेश्वर ने जो कुछ उसे अपने वचन में, प्रभु यीशु की पहचान में होकर दे दिया है, उसके अतिरिक्त, किसी भी विश्वासी को परमेश्वर को भावता हुआ और भक्ति का जीवन जीने के लिए, और कुछ भी नहीं चाहिए। इसलिए, ऐसे सभी लोग, जो नए प्रकाशन या दर्शन मिलने के दावे करते हैं, कि परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने और/या परमेश्वर से कोई सामर्थ्य प्राप्त करने के लिए कुछ विशेष शब्दों या वाक्यांशों का प्रयोग करना चाहिए, जो बाइबल में नहीं दिए गए हैं, वे सचेत हो जाएँ। ये लोग परमेश्वर के वचन का उल्लंघन कर रहे हैं, और परमेश्वर के वचन में जोड़ने के दोषी हैं (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; 12:32; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19), और उन्हें इसका हिसाब देना होगा, इसका परिणाम भुगतना पड़ेगा।
फिर, सँख्या 6 बताती है कि मसीही विश्वासियों को ईश्वरीय स्वभाव का सम्भागी बनाया गया है; जिसकी पुष्टि रोमियों 8:9, 17, और 2 कुरिन्थियों 3:18 से भी होती है। अब, क्योंकि मसीही विश्वासियों को ईश्वरीय स्वभाव का सम्भागी बनाया गया है, उन्हें स्वर्गीय खज़ाने जमा करने में लगे रहना चाहिए (मत्ती 6:19-21; कुलुस्सियों 3:1-2), बजाए इसके कि प्रभु के नाम में साँसारिक धन-सम्पत्ति एकत्रित करते रहें। जो परमेश्वर के नाम और वचन का उपयोग, साँसारिक बातों को जमा करने के लिए करते हैं, वे परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध हैं,और अपने आप को उसका शत्रु बना रहे हैं, जैसा कि याकूब 4:4 और 1 यूहन्ना 2:15-17 में लिखा है।
प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को पतरस द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में लिखी गई इन सातों लाभ और सुविधाओं पर गम्भीरता से तथा यत्न से विचार करना चाहिए। अगले लेख में हम बाइबल का अध्ययन करने के अन्य कारणों पर विचार करना ज़ारी रखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Things Related to Christian Living – 12
The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 1 - Word (5)
While considering the first “Pillar of Christian Living,” given in Acts 2:42, i.e., studying God’s Word, we have seen that though it is God’s command, yet most of the Christians rarely do it; despite being in a far more advantageous position than the initial Christian Believers, who were “steadfast” in not just listening to God’s Word, but studying and learning it as well. Their being committed to learning God’s Word, to applying it in their lives, to teaching and spreading it to others, was instrumental in not only their own Christian growth, but also the growth of the Church. The Church grew, because, as we learnt from Peter’s sermon to the devout Jews in Acts chapter 2, the gospel becomes effective when it was preached based upon the Scriptural facts about the Lord Jesus. Scripture based sharing of the gospel prepares the hearts of the listeners and the Holy Spirit then convicts them of their sins, and brings them to repentance and faith in the Lord. Hence, for Christian Believers to be effective evangelists, not only do they need to be well established in God’s Word, but their sharing of the gospel should be based upon the teachings of the Scriptures about the Lord Jesus.
But this kind of gospel preaching is rarely seen these days. Instead, we have the present-day preachers promoting themselves by advertising their accomplishments, and accumulating a crowd with promises of signs, wonders, miracles, healings and other such things. In such gatherings the actual gospel, the preaching about the state of sinfulness of the audience, and the call for them to repent from sins is usually never given, or mentioned very briefly, in a subdued manner. The primary importance being given to the physical aspects of the persons, i.e., to signs, wonders, miracles, healings and other such things. Those who think they are serving the Lord by relegating the gospel and conviction for sins to the background, should ponder over Matthew 7:21-23. Those who think that their interest in signs, wonders, miracles, healings and other such things is evidence of their interest in the Lord Jesus, should think about what the Lord Jesus has said about these things “But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah” (Matthew 12:39). The Holy Spirit has also warned against this tendency of the people in the end times, in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” Those who trust in and are interested in signs, wonders, miracles, healings and other such things, over and above their having and preaching trust and interest in the truth and propagation of God’s Word, will be deceived and perish because of their misplaced priorities. So, whichever way one looks at it, the primacy and necessity of diligently or steadfastly done Bible study being a necessity for the Christian Believers, cannot be ignored.
In our present ongoing considerations of the reasons to study God’s Word, our last article was on the topic that the Believer needs to study God’s Word to know and learn about the Lord Jesus Christ. We had said at the end of the last article, that there are some very major personal benefits and advantages for every Christian Believer of learning God’s Word, and thereby learning about the Lord Jesus from the Bible. These benefits and advantages are given by the Apostle Peter in his second letter; but these are hardly, if ever, preached and taught by the present day religious and Church leaders; and are never mentioned by those who are more interested in the physical gains and benefits of Christianity, than salvation and the spiritual gains and benefits that come because of coming to faith in the Lord Jesus. Before we list out the benefits and advantages, it will be very helpful, if we realize that Peter had written his letters to encourage those Christian Believers who were undergoing severe persecution, and had been dispersed for their Christian faith (1 Peter 1:1-2). Peter encourages them by pointing out their current state, despite their being persecuted, and showing what awaits them (1 Peter 1:3-6).
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Peter has written, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:2-4). In these three verses, God’s Word lists seven blessings that come upon and are multiplied upon those who remain “in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” and “through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” These are:
Grace
Peace
All things pertaining to life
All things pertaining to Godliness
Exceedingly great and precious promises
Become partakers of divine nature
Escape from the corruption that is in the world through lust
We will not be going into each of these benefits and advantages individually. But we need to ponder over some aspects related to these seven things. It says in number 3 and 4 that all things that pertain to life and godliness have been given to the Christian Believers. Note that it is an accomplished act, not a future promise. In other words, everything that a Christian Believer needs to have to live his life, and for his being godly, all of them have already been given by God to him through the knowledge of the Lord Jesus. So, other than what God has already given in His Word, through the knowledge of the Lord Jesus, nothing else is required for any Believer to be godly and live a life that pleases God. Therefore, all those who keep coming up with claims of receiving new revelations and visions about how to please God and/or receive some power from God, by claiming or saying words and expressions that have not been stated in the Bible, beware. They are contradicting God’s Word, and are guilty of adding to God’s Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19), and will have to give an account and suffer the consequences for doing this.
Then, number 6 tells us that the Christian Believers have become partakers of divine nature; which is affirmed from Romans 8:9, 17 and 2 Corinthians 3:18. Now, because the Believers have been given a divine nature, they should be engaged in gathering heavenly treasures (Matthew 6:19-21; Colossians 3:1-2), instead of using the name of the Lord to accumulate worldly riches. Those who use God’s name and Word for gaining worldly things, are actually contrary to God and make themselves His enemies, as is written in James 4:4 and 1 John 2:15-17.
Every Christian Believer needs to seriously and diligently ponder upon these seven benefits and advantages spoken by Peter through the Holy Spirit. In the next article, we will continue considering some other reasons from the Bible, of studying and learning God’s Word.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
