बपतिस्मा - उद्धार के लिए अनिवार्य? (5) - विचार कीजिए
इससे पहले के लेखों में हमने तीन पदों, प्रेरितों 2:38, प्रेरितों 22:16, और 1 पतरस 3:21 पर विचार किया है, जिनका आम तौर से गलत व्याख्या के द्वारा दुरुपयोग यह दिखाने के लिए किया जाता है कि उद्धार के लिए बपतिस्मा आवश्यक है; बिना बपतिस्मे के उद्धार संभव नहीं है। हमने देखा है कि जब इन पदों की व्याख्या बाइबल की व्याख्या करने के स्थापित सिद्धांतों के आधार पर की जाती है, तो इन पदों के साथ जोड़ी गई इस गंभीर गलत व्याख्या कि उद्धार के लिए बपतिस्मा आवश्यक है, का समाधान हो जाता है, और यह स्पष्ट हो जाता है कि ये पद इस गढ़ी हुई और बाइबल के विरुद्ध की इस धारणा का कोई समर्थन अथवा पुष्टि नहीं करते हैं। इन तीन पदों पर विचार करने से पहले हमने कुछ बातों को देखा था जो यह स्पष्ट दिखाती हैं कि बाइबल में कहीं पर भी यह कहा या सिखाया नहीं गया है कि उद्धार के लिए बपतिस्मा अनिवार्य है। आज हम ऐसी ही एक और बात पर विचार करेंगे जो इस बात को और दृढ़ कर देती है कि उद्धार के लिए बपतिस्मा आवश्यक नहीं है। लेकिन इसका यह अर्थ भी नहीं है कि बपतिस्मा आवश्यक नहीं है; बपतिस्मा बहुत आवश्यक है, नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों द्वारा उसे अवश्य ही लिया जाना है, उद्धार के लिए नहीं परन्तु प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता के लिए और उन उद्देश्यों की पूर्ति के लिए जिन्हें हमने इस श्रृंखला के आरंभ के लेखों में देखा था।
अब एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात पर ध्यान दीजिए और विचार कीजिए; वचन में कहीं नहीं आया है कि कोई भी जल किसी के पापों को धो डालता है, या पापों से शुद्ध करता है। चाहे पुराने नियम में हो या नए नियम में, बाइबल के अनुसार पापों के निवारण के लिए लहू बहाया जाना अनिवार्य है “और व्यवस्था के अनुसार प्रायः सब वस्तुएं लहू के द्वारा शुद्ध की जाती हैं; और बिना लहू बहाए क्षमा नहीं होती” (इब्रानियों 9:22); अर्थात, बाइबल के अनुसार ऐसी कोई भी बात जिसके साथ बलिदान या रक्त का बहाया जाना जुड़ा हुआ नहीं है कभी कोई भी पाप से शुद्ध नहीं कर सकती है; अन्यथा, बाइबल में विरोधाभास आ जाएगा। और केवल बपतिस्मे में, अपने आप में, कोई भी बलिदान या रक्त का बहाया जाना जुड़ा हुआ नहीं है। परन्तु जैसा 1 यूहन्ना 1:7 में लिखा है, “पर यदि जैसा वह ज्योति में है, वैसे ही हम भी ज्योति में चलें, तो एक दूसरे से सहभागिता रखते हैं; और उसके पुत्र यीशु का लहू हमें सब पापों से शुद्ध करता है” और प्रकाशितवाक्य 1:5 में लिखा है “और यीशु मसीह की ओर से, जो विश्वासयोग्य साक्षी और मरे हुओं में से जी उठने वालों में पहलौठा, और पृथ्वी के राजाओं का हाकिम है, तुम्हें अनुग्रह और शान्ति मिलती रहे: जो हम से प्रेम रखता है, और जिसने अपने लहू के द्वारा हमें पापों से छुड़ाया है”, प्रभु यीशु के दिए गए बलिदान का लहू ही पापों को धोता और उन से शुद्ध करता है। यदि बपतिस्मे के जल से पाप धुल सकते, तो फिर प्रभु यीशु को अपना लहू क्यों बहाना पड़ता? यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देने वाला भी तो पश्चाताप करने वालों को मन फिराव का बपतिस्मा दे ही रहा था (मत्ती 1:1-11)। प्रभु परमेश्वर उसे ही और अधिक प्रभावी तथा कार्यकारी कर देता, और प्रभु यीशु को अपना अमूल्य लहू बहाने की कोई आवश्यकता ही नहीं होती! पाप की समस्या का यह बहुत सहज और सरल समाधान हो जाता।
जब हमारे पापों को धोने के लिए प्रभु यीशु मसीह को अपना निष्पाप, अमूल्य लहू बहाना ही पड़ा, तो क्या हम बपतिस्मे के लिए प्रयोग किए जाने वाले संसार के नदी, तालाबों, और कुंडों आदि के जल को प्रभु यीशु मसीह के लहू के समान प्रभावी और कार्यकारी समझने और बताने की हिमाकत कर सकते हैं; उसका ऐसा अपमान कर सकते हैं? क्योंकि यह कहना कि बपतिस्मे से पाप धुलते हैं और उद्धार मिलता है, बपतिस्मे के जल को प्रभु यीशु के बलिदान और लहू बहाए जाने के समतुल्य बना देता है। हम यह कैसे, किस आधार पर, कह सकते है कि पापों को धो डालने और हमें पापों से शुद्ध करने का जो काम प्रभु यीशु मसीह का अमूल्य लहू करता है, वही संसार के नदी, तालाबों, और कुंडों का जल भी कर देता है?
अब, क्या आप उद्धार के लिए बपतिस्मे की आवश्यकता की इस भ्रष्ट बात में छुपे शैतान के कुटिल झूठ और भ्रम को समझ रहे हैं? कृपया प्रभु यीशु के बलिदान और उसके अमूल्य लहू बहाने को इस प्रकार तुच्छ दिखाने की इस गलती में कदापि न पड़ें, इसका परिणाम बहुत भयानक है: “जब कि मूसा की व्यवस्था का न मानने वाला दो या तीन जनों की गवाही पर, बिना दया के मार डाला जाता है। तो सोच लो कि वह कितने और भी भारी दण्ड के योग्य ठहरेगा, जिसने परमेश्वर के पुत्र को पांवों से रौंदा, और वाचा के लहू को जिस के द्वारा वह पवित्र ठहराया गया था, अपवित्र जाना है, और अनुग्रह की आत्मा का अपमान किया” (इब्रानियों 10:28-29)।
हम इसी विषय पर आगे के लेखों में भी देखेंगे, और बाइबल से संबंधित कुछ अन्य तथ्यों को देखेंगे जो उद्धार के लिए बपतिस्मे की अनिवार्यता की इस मन-गढ़न्त धारणा का खण्डन करते हैं। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में नया जन्म पाए हुए प्रभु यीशु के शिष्य हैं, पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Baptism - Necessary for Salvation? (5) – Point to Ponder
In the previous articles we have considered three verses, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, and 1 Peter 3:21, that are often misused and misinterpreted to say that baptism is necessary for salvation; salvation cannot be without baptism. We have seen that when these verses are analyzed in their context, and through using the established principles of Bible interpretation, this gross misinterpretation associated with these verses gets clarified and it becomes quite clear that unlike the popular misconception, these verses do not support or affirm this contrived and unBiblical doctrine of the necessity of baptism for salvation. Prior to our taking up these verses, we had seen some points that show that nowhere does the Bible teach or imply the necessity of baptism for salvation. Today, we will consider one more such point, which further shows that baptism is not a necessity for salvation. But this also does not mean that baptism is unnecessary; baptism is very necessary, it has to be taken by the Born-Again Christian Believers, not for salvation but in obedience to the Lord’s command and to fulfil its purposes that we saw in the initial articles of this series.
Now pay attention to, and ponder over one very important fact; nowhere in the Scriptures is it ever mentioned or implied that any water can wash away one's sins, or purify one from sins. Whether in the Old Testament or the New Testament, according to the Bible, the shedding of blood is necessary for the remission of sins “And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22); implying that Biblically, anything that does not have the shedding of blood associated with it cannot ever cleanse any sin; else there will be a contradiction in the Bible. And there is no sacrifice or shedding of blood associated with baptism as such. But as it is written in 1 John 1:7, “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" and in Revelation 1:5, “and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood”, it is the shed blood of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus that washes and cleanses away the sins. If the water of baptism could wash away sins, then why would the Lord Jesus have to shed His blood to do something which could easily be done with water? John the Baptist was already baptizing those who repented with the baptism of repentance (Matthew 1:1-11). The Lord God could have made it more effective and applicable, and the Lord Jesus would have had no need to shed His priceless blood! That then would have been a very simple and easy solution to the problem of sin.
Since the Lord Jesus Christ had to shed His sinless, priceless blood to wash away our sins, how can we then say that the waters of the world's rivers, ponds, tanks, etc. used for baptism are as effective as the priceless blood of the Lord Jesus Christ? Because to say that baptism washes away sins and brings salvation, equates baptism and the water of baptism to the sacrifice and shed of blood of the Lord Jesus. Can we dare to treat His blood so lightly and thereby insult Him like that? On what basis, can we say and believe that just as the priceless blood of Lord Jesus Christ washes away our sins and cleanses us from sins, the water of the rivers and ponds of the world can also do the same?
Now, do you understand the devious, derogatory lies and deception of Satan hidden in this corrupt matter of justifying salvation by baptism? Please do not fall into this mistake of belittling the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus and the shedding of His priceless blood, the consequences are very severe: “Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?" (Hebrews 10:28-29).
We will continue on this topic in the articles ahead, and consider some other Biblical facts that disprove this contrived necessity of baptism for salvation. If you are a Christian Believer, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a Born-Again disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. Whoever may be the preacher or teacher, but you should always, like the Berean Believers, first cross-check and test all teachings that you receive, from the Word of God. Only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
