मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 4 - प्रार्थना (26)
इस समय हम व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित बातों के बारे में, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में दिए गए उदाहरणों और पदों से सीख रहे हैं। हम यह उन बातों के वास्तविक और मूल स्वरूप और आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासियों तथा कलीसियाओं द्वारा उनका पालन लिए जाने के बारे में जानने के लिए कर रहे हैं। क्योंकि आज के मसीहियों में परमेश्वर के वचन का व्यक्तिगत रीति से अध्ययन करने की रुचि नहीं है, और वे पास्टरों, कलीसिया के अगुवों, और प्रचारकों के द्वारा कही तथा सिखाई गई बातों पर अन्ध-विश्वास करते हैं, इसलिए शैतान को मसीही जीवन और विश्वास के बारे में बहुत सी गलत धारणाओं और गलत शिक्षाओं को घुसाने और दृढ़ता से बैठाने का अवसर बना रहता है, और वह इसका भरपूरी से फायदा उठा रहा है। हमने देखा है कि प्रेरितों 2:42 में व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित चार बातें दी गई हैं, जिनका आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी लौलीन होकर पालन किया करते थे। इन चार में से चौथी बात है प्रार्थना करना, यानि कि परमेश्वर से वार्तालाप करना; और वर्तमान में हम इसी पर मत्ती 6:5-15 से अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। प्रार्थना पर इस अध्ययन में अभी तक, प्रार्थना से सम्बन्धित कुछ आधारभूत बातों को, और फैली हुई गलत धारणाओं तथा गलत शिक्षाओं के बारे में देखने के बाद, अब हमने तथा-कथित “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” और उससे सम्बन्धित गलत धारणाओं और गलत शिक्षाओं के बारे में देखना आरम्भ किया है।
पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि जिसे “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” कहा जाता है, वह अपने आप में कोई “प्रार्थना” नहीं है। किन्तु फिर भी इसे रट कर हर अवसर पर और हर बात के लिए, बिना सोचे समझे प्रार्थना कहकर, यूँ ही बोला जाता है। वास्तव में यह प्रभु द्वारा दी गई प्रार्थना की एक रूपरेखा, एक ढाँचा है। इस रूपरेखा या ढाँचे के अनुसार प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को अपनी प्रार्थनाओं को स्वरूप देना चाहिए, ताकि उनकी प्रार्थनाएं परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हों। हमने मत्ती 6:5-8 से देखा है कि प्रार्थना करने से पहले अपने आप को किस तरह से परमेश्वर के सम्मुख आने के लिए तैयार करना चाहिए। जिसे सामान्यतः “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” कहा जाता है, वह मत्ती 6:9-13 में दी गई है। इसके विषय हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर से कुछ माँगने वाले होने से पहले, हमें परमेश्वर की आराधना, उसका गुणानुवाद करने वाला, उसे आदर और महिमा देने वाला होना चाहिए। अब हम मत्ती 6:9-10 से देख रहे हैं कि परमेश्वर से कुछ भी प्राप्त करने का आधार, उसके साथ हमारा सम्बन्ध है। यहाँ प्रभु यीशु ने परमेश्वर से कुछ माँगने के लिए “हे हमारे पिता” सम्बोधन का उपयोग किया है; और प्रार्थनाओं का उत्तर पाने के लिए इस पिता तथा सन्तान के सम्बन्ध के महत्व के बारे में हमने देखा है। आज हम इन्हीं पदों में आगे बढ़ेंगे।
परमेश्वर को पिता कहकर सम्बोधित करने के बाद, प्रभु द्वारा कहा गया अगला वाक्य है “तू जो स्वर्ग में है;” अर्थात हमें ध्यान करना है कि परमेश्वर की और हमारी तुलनात्मक स्थिति क्या है। यह न केवल परमेश्वर को ऊँचे पर उठाना, उसे आदर और सम्मान देना है, वरन साथ ही उससे कुछ माँगने से पहले उसके सामने अपनी स्थिति का ध्यान करना भी है। राजा सुलैमान ने पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में सभोपदेशक 5:2 में लिखा “बातें करने में उतावली न करना, और न अपने मन से कोई बात उतावली से परमेश्वर के सामने निकालना, क्योंकि परमेश्वर स्वर्ग में हैं और तू पृथ्वी पर है; इसलिये तेरे वचन थोड़े ही हों।” यद्यपि सच्चे मसीही विश्वासी का परमेश्वर के साथ पिता और सन्तान का सम्बन्ध है, और परमेश्वर चाहता है कि हम खुले दिल से उसके पास आएं, और उससे अपनी सभी बातें साफ-साफ कहें; किन्तु, जैसे हम पृथ्वी के अपने परिवारों में देखते और सीखते हैं, परिवार के अगुवों और बड़ों के साथ एक आदर का व्यवहार भी बनाए रखना होता है। परमेश्वर से कुछ भी कहते या माँगते समय मर्यादा का ध्यान रखना अनिवार्य है। उसके सामने हमें किसी भी अशिष्ट व्यवहार, अनादरपूर्ण शब्दों, या छिछोरी बातों से बचकर रहना है। भजनकार ने लिखा है “यहोवा के नाम की ऐसी महिमा करो जो उसके योग्य है; भेंट ले कर उसके आंगनों में आओ!” (भजन 96:8)। यह एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात है; यहोवा को आदर देने की केवल एक औपचारिकता ही पूरी नहीं करनी है, वरन उसे वह आदर और महिमा देनी है, जिसके वह योग्य है। परमेश्वर को उसका योग्य आदर और महिमा देने के लिए, पहले उसके बारे में, उसके गुणों और चरित्र के बारे में, उसके वचन में उसके बारे में लिखी बातों के बारे में जानना होगा, तब ही यह करना सम्भव हो पाएगा। एक बार फिर यह उस बात की पुष्टि करता है जो हमने प्रार्थना से सम्बन्धित अध्ययन के आरम्भ में देखी है, कि परमेश्वर से प्रार्थनाओं का सकारात्मक उत्तर पाने के लिए, व्यक्ति को परमेश्वर की इच्छा के अनुसार और उसके वचन से सुसंगत बात माँगनी चाहिए। और साथ ही यह “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” से सम्बन्धित अध्ययन के इस खण्ड के आरम्भ में कही गई बात की भी पुष्टि करता है कि परमेश्वर से कुछ माँगने से पहले, उसकी आराधना करना, उसका गुणानुवाद करना, उसे उचित आदर और सम्मान देना आना चाहिए। जो परमेश्वर को आदर देते हैं, परमेश्वर भी उनका आदर करता है, उनकी प्रार्थनाओं का उत्तर देता है।
परमेश्वर को उसका उचित आदर और सम्मान देने की ओर प्रभु द्वारा, और राजा सुलैमान द्वारा कही गई यह बातें संकेत कर रही हैं। राजा सुलैमान ने सभोपदेशक 5:2 में परमेश्वर को उसका उचित आदर देने से सम्बन्धित बात के एक पक्ष को हमारे सामने रखा है। वह कहता है कि क्योंकि परमेश्वर स्वर्ग में है, और हम पृथ्वी पर, इसलिए उसके आदर रखते हुए, हम जो भी कहें या माँगें, वह संक्षिप्त शब्दों में हो, और उतावली में न कहा जाए। अर्थात, प्रार्थना में परमेश्वर से कुछ माँगने वाले को सोच-समझ कर, माँगी गई बात के बारे में विचार करके, तब परमेश्वर के सम्मुख उसे अपने मुँह से निकालना चाहिए। और यही बात हमने मत्ती 6:5-8 पर विचार करते समय, प्रार्थना माँगने से पहले प्रार्थना के बारे में तैयारी करने पर विचार करते समय देखी थी। इससे हमें एक और बहुत महत्वपूर्ण शिक्षा भी मिलती है; जब हम अपने जीवनों में, अपने जीवनों के द्वारा, परमेश्वर को और उसके वचन को ऊँचे पर उठाते हैं, परमेश्वर का गुणानुवाद करने वाले, उसे आदर और महिमा देने वाले बनते हैं, तो उससे न केवल हमारी प्रार्थनाएं उचित, सार्थक, और स्वीकार्य होने लगती हैं, बल्कि हमारी बोलचाल और व्यवहार भी सुधरने लगता है। हमारा जीवन और व्यवहार बदलने लगता है, और अशिष्ट व्यवहार, अनादरपूर्ण शब्दों का प्रयोग, तथा छिछोरी बातें हमारे जीवनों से हटने लग जाती हैं। यह होना 2 कुरिन्थियों 3:18 की पुष्टि है कि पवित्र आत्मा अंश-अंश करके वास्तविक मसीही विश्वासियों प्रभु के तेजस्वी स्वरूप में बदलता चला जाता है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (26)
We are now learning about practical Christian living from the examples and verses of God’s Word the Bible. We are doing this to learn the actual and original form of those things and to see how the initial Christian Believers and the church used to follow them. Since today the Christians are no longer interested in studying God’s Word for themselves, and they prefer to have a blind faith in whatever their Pastor, Church Elders, or preachers may say to them, therefore Satan has an open opportunity to bring in and firmly establish many wrong concepts and teachings related to Christian living and Christian faith, and he is making full use of it. We have seen that in Acts 2:42, four things regarding practical Christian living have been given, and the initial Christian Believers used to steadfastly follow them. The fourth of these four things is prayer, i.e., conversing with God; and presently we are studying about it from Matthew 6:5-15. In this study, on prayer, having seen some fundamental and basic things related to prayer, and having seen about the prevalent wrong concepts and false teachings about prayer, now we have begun to study the wrong concepts and false teachings about the so-called “Lord’s Prayer.”
In the previous articles we have seen that what is known as the “Lord’s Prayer” is actually not a prayer by itself. Yet, it is spoken by rote on all occasions, for everything, perfunctorily without ever giving it any serious thought. In reality, it is an outline, a framework for prayer given by the Lord. Every Christian Believer should give form to their prayers and mold them based on this outline or framework, so that their prayers are acceptable to God. We have seen from Matthew 6:5-8, how we should prepare ourselves for approaching God in prayer. That which is generally called the “Lord’s Prayer” is found in Matthew 6:9-13. About this we have seen that before asking God for something, we should be those who exalt and worship God, praise Him, give honor and glory to Him. Now, we are seeing from Matthew 6:9-10 that the basis of our receiving anything from God is our relationship with Him. Here, the Lord Jesus has used the address “Our Father” for asking anything from God; and we have seen the importance of this Father and child relationship for receiving anything from God. Today, we will proceed ahead on these same verses.
Having addressed God as Father, the next phrase spoken by the Lord is “in heaven” and so we have to keep in mind our position in comparison to God’s position. This is not only exalting God, giving Him honor and glory, but also reminding ourselves of our position in comparison to Him, before we ask Him for anything. King Solomon, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote in Ecclesiastes 5:2 “Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few.” Although the true Christian Believers have a Father-child relationship with God, and though God wants that we come to Him with an open heart, and openly speak whatever we need to speak about with Him; but as we see and learn in our earthly families, we have to maintain the honor and appropriate behavior towards the family elders and seniors. Similarly, while saying something to God, asking Him for something, this dignity has to be maintained. We have to avoid all inappropriate behavior, all disrespectful words, and all frivolous things. The Psalmist has written “Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts” (Psalm 96:8). This is a very important thing; we don’t have to just fulfill a formality of honoring God; rather, we have to give Him the honor and glory that He is worthy of. To give God the glory and honor He is worthy of, we first need to learn about His attributes, characteristics, about the things written in His Word about Him; only then will we be able to appropriately honor and glorify Him. Once again, this affirms what we have seen about prayer in the initial articles, that to receive a positive response from God for our prayers, we should ask prayers based on God’s will and consistent with His Word. It also affirms what we have said in the initial articles on this topic of “Lord’s Prayer” that before asking anything from God, we should know how to worship and exalt God, praise Him, and give Him the honor and glorify He is worthy of. Those who honor God, God also honors them, and answers their prayers.
That which the Lord, and King Solomon have said, is pointing towards giving the appropriate honor and glory to God. King Solomon, in Ecclesiastes 5:2, has placed before us an aspect of giving God His due honor. He says that since God is in heaven, and we are on earth, therefore, in accordance with His honor, whatever we say to Him or ask of Him, must be in few words, and should not be said hastily. In other words, those who ask God for anything, should first think about it, prepare themselves for it, and then utter anything before God with their mouths. And this very thing, we had seen while considering Matthew 6:5-8, that before asking for anything in prayer, one must prepare himself for it. From this, we also derive another very important lesson; when we exalt God and His Word in and through our lives, when we become those who praise and worship the Lord, those who give Him and His Word glory and honor, it not only starts transforming our prayers into being appropriate, meaningful, and acceptable to God, but even our behavior and conversation start changing for the better. Our life, attitude, and the way we conduct ourselves starts changing, all inappropriate behavior, all disrespectful words, and all frivolous things start going out of our lives. This is an affirmation of 2 Corinthians 3:18, that the Holy Spirit keeps transforming the true Christian Believers bit by bit into the glorious form of the Lord.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
