कलीसिया और मसीही विश्वासी - स्थिरता और दृढ़ता का उपाय
प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया में जुड़ने के साथ ही, सच्चे मसीही विश्वासी में, वास्तविकता में प्रभु के जन बन जाने वाले व्यक्ति में सात बातें देखी जाती हैं, जो प्रेरितों 2:38-42 में दी गई हैं, और जिन्हें हम पिछले कुछ लेखों में क्रमवार देखते आ रहे हैं। अभी तक हम पहली तीन बातें - अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप और उनके लिए प्रभु यीशु से क्षमा माँगने के साथ यीशु को प्रभु स्वीकार करना, प्रभु द्वारा किए गए भीतरी परिवर्तन की बपतिस्मे के द्वारा सार्वजनिक गवाही देना, और प्रभु के प्रति पूर्णतः समर्पित एवं आज्ञाकारी होकर, अपने आप को संसार तथा सांसारिक लालसाओं से पृथक करना और प्रभु के कार्य में संलग्न रहना, चाहे इसके लिए कोई भी कीमत क्यों न चुकानी पड़े। प्रकट है कि प्रभु के प्रति सच्चे और वास्तविक समर्पण के बिना यह कर पाना संभव नहीं है, क्योंकि सताव और विपरीत परिस्थितियों में भी प्रभु के प्रति प्रतिबद्ध और आज्ञाकारी बने रहना परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य के बिना संभव नहीं है; और पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य केवल प्रभु यीशु के वास्तविक शिष्यों के साथ ही होगी, किसी मानवीय अथवा संस्थागत रीति से, अपनी ही ओर से ‘कलीसिया’ से जुड़ जाने वालों के साथ नहीं। यहीं पर प्रभु के सच्चे और समर्पित लोगों तथा दिखाने भर के लिए ‘कलीसिया’ से जुड़ने वालों के मध्य अंतर प्रकट हो जाता है।
प्रेरितों 2:41 में जीवन में आया एक महत्वपूर्ण परिवर्तन दिखाया गया है, पतरस द्वारा किए गए उस प्रचार के फलस्वरूप, “सो जिन्होंने उसका वचन ग्रहण किया उन्होंने बपतिस्मा लिया; और उसी दिन तीन हजार मनुष्यों के लगभग उन में मिल गए।” सात में से शेष चार बातें उन लोगों के प्रभु के शिष्यों के साथ जुड़ जाने के बाद उनके जीवन में निरंतर पाई जाने वाली बातें थीं; इन चार बातों के लिए प्रेरितों 2:42 में लिखा है कि ये नए मसीही विश्वासी इसके बाद से इन में “लौलीन रहे”, अर्थात, ये बातें उनके जीवन का अभिन्न अंग, उनके लिए प्राथमिकता से निर्वाह का विषय बन गईं। ये चार बातें हैं प्रेरितों से शिक्षा पाना, अर्थात प्रभु के वचन की शिक्षा और अध्ययन, प्रभु के लोगों के साथ संगति में बने रहना, प्रभु के नाम से रोटी तोड़ना या प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में सम्मिलित होते रहना, और प्रार्थना करना। ये चार बातें कलीसिया के लिए, मसीही विश्वासी के मसीही जीवन के लिए स्थिरता और दृढ़ता देने वाले चारों कोनों के चार स्तंभ हैं। जिस भी मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में इनमें से एक भी स्तंभ कमजोर पड़ेगा, या हट जाएगा, उसका मसीही विश्वास का जीवन तुरंत कमजोर पड़ जाएगा। जिस स्थानीय कलीसिया में ये बातें नहीं होंगी, या इनकी प्राथमिकता नहीं होगी, वह स्थानीय कलीसिया दुर्बल पड़ जाएगी, प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी हो जाएगी, और शैतान को उस कलीसिया में अपने कार्य करने के लिए प्रचुर अवसर मिलने लगेंगे। इन चारों बातों के एक साथ निर्वाह करने और इनके सामूहिक महत्व को दिखाने के लिए ही इन्हें एक साथ, एक ही वाक्य में लिखवाया गया है, और साथ ही यह भी लिखवाया गया है कि वे आरंभिक विश्वासी इन चारों में “लौलीन रहे”।
अपने आप को ईसाई या मसीही कहने वाले अधिकांश लोगों में, उनके व्यक्तिगत जीवन में तथा उनकी ‘कलीसिया’ की सामूहिक जीवन में भी, इन चारों बातों का महत्व और निर्वाह आज देखने को या मिलता ही नहीं है, या इनमें से किसी एक या दो का पालन करना एक औपचारिकता मात्र बन कर रह गया है। यही इस बात का एक बड़ा प्रमाण है कि उनका जीवन वास्तव में प्रभु के साथ जुड़ा हुआ नहीं है; वे केवल ऊपरी रीति से, दिखाने भर के लिए प्रभु की कलीसिया से जुड़े हैं, वास्तविकता में नहीं। वास्तविकता में वे अभी भी संसार के साथ ही जुड़े हुए हैं, संसार ही के जन हैं, इसीलिए संसार और सांसारिकता की बातें उनके लिए अधिक महत्व रखती हैं और उन्हीं बातों का पालन करना उनकी प्राथमिकता है। यदि वे नश्वर संसार की नाशमान बातों से कुछ समय निकालने पाते हैं, तो प्रभु के प्रति अपने दायित्व के लिए, दिखाने भर का औपचारिकता का हल्का सा प्रयास कर लेते हैं। यदि इन सातों बातों के क्रम के अनुसार देखें, तो जो वास्तव में सच्चा पश्चाताप करेगा, मन फिराएगा, और अपने इस मन फिराव की वास्तविकता की सार्वजनिक गवाही देगा, और अपने आप को संसार तथा सांसारिकता की बातों से अलग करेगा, उसके अन्दर स्वतः ही इन शेष चार बातों के लिए भी स्वाभाविक लालसा बनी रहेगी, और वे इनमें लौलीन भी रहेंगे। हम अगले लेख से इन चारों बातों को एक-एक करके कुछ विस्तार से देखेंगे।
अपने आप को ईसाई या मसीही कहने वाले लोगों में इन चारों बातों को पूरा न करने को लेकर एक बहुत सामान्य धारणा पाई जाती है - समय ही नहीं होता है, कैसे करें? संसार और सांसारिकता की बातों के बाद उनके पास समय ही नहीं बचता है कि वे प्रभु के साथ समय बिताएं, प्रभु के लिए कुछ करें। फिर इसके साथ एक दूसरा बहाना भी जोड़ दिया जाता है, “प्रभु हमारे दिल और जीवन के हाल तो जानता है; उसे पता है कि हम उससे प्रेम करते हैं, बस उपयुक्त समय नहीं देने पाते हैं। वह हमारी स्थिति समझता है, दयालु और करुणामय है, और अपनी दया और करुणा में होकर हमसे व्यवहार करेगा।” लेकिन ये लोग इस बात पर बिलकुल विचार नहीं करते हैं कि क्या होगा जब न्याय के दिन प्रभु उनसे कहेगा, “हाँ, मैं दयालु और करुणामय हूँ, और इसीलिए मैं, इतने सालों तक, बारंबार, तुम्हारे पास संगति के लिए, तुम्हें विश्राम और आशीष देने के लिए, तुम्हारी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए प्रतिदिन आता रहा और तुमसे समय माँगता रहा, अपने लोगों के द्वारा तुम्हें संदेश भेजता रहा, तुम्हें अपनी प्राथमिकताएं सही करने की शिक्षाएं देता रहा, किन्तु तुमने हर बार नश्वर संसार की नाशमान बातों को मुझ अविनाशी परमेश्वर और उसकी अनन्तकालीन आशीषों से अधिक महत्वपूर्ण समझा, संसार को ही प्राथमिकता दी। तुम जानते थे कि मुझे छोड़कर तुम जिसके लिए परिश्रम और प्रयास करने में लगे हुए हो, एक दिन वह सब नष्ट हो जाएगा, तुम्हारे साथ उसका कुछ अंश भी नहीं जाएगा। तुम ये भी जानते थे कि तुम्हें प्रतिफल तुम्हारे कार्यों के अनुसार दिए जाएंगे; लेकिन फिर भी तुमने संसार को ही प्राथमिकता दी, उसी के लिए उपयोगी बने रहे, मेरे लिए नहीं। आज, यह मेरे उस सच्चे और खरे न्याय का दिन है, जिसके विषय तुम्हें मैं चिताता रहा, किन्तु तुम नहीं चेते; इसलिए आज, तुम्हारे द्वारा जानते-बुझते-समझते हुए किए गए निर्णय के अनुसार ही तुम वही फसल पाओगे, जिसके बीज तुमने अपने लिए स्वेच्छा से अपने जीवन में बोए हैं। नाशमान बातों को अपने जीवन में बोया है, विनाश की कटनी ही काटने को मिलेगी।”
प्रभु यीशु के लिए समय, प्रयास, और परिश्रम व्यर्थ या निष्फल नहीं है (1 कुरिन्थियों 15:58), वरन ऐसे निवेश (investment) के समान है, जिसका कम-से-कम सौ-गुना प्रतिफल, और अनन्तकालीन आशीषें बिलकुल निश्चित हैं (मरकुस 10:29, 30)। जो अपना पहला समय, परिश्रम, प्राथमिकता प्रभु को देते हैं, प्रभु उन्हें शेष कार्य करने के लिए उपयुक्त समय, परिश्रम और प्रतिफल भी देता रहता है, जिससे वे अपने सांसारिक कार्यों में भी सफल रहते हैं, और प्रभु के लिए भी उपयोगी होकर आशीषित बने रहते हैं। आवश्यकता प्रभु पर भरोसा रखते हुए विश्वास के साथ सही दिशा में कदम बढ़ाने की है।
यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो अभी समय और अवसर रहते अपने जीवन को जाँच-परख कर देख लीजिए कि आप इन सातों बातों के संदर्भ में, कहाँ खड़े हैं? प्रभु की बातें और आज्ञाकारिता आपके जीवन में क्या स्थान पाती हैं? यदि प्रभु यीशु, उसका वचन, और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता आपके जीवन की प्राथमिकता नहीं है, तो आपको बहुत गंभीरता से अपने जीवन का पुनःअवलोकन और आँकलन (review and re-assessment) करने की तथा आवश्यक सुधारों को लाने की आवश्यकता है।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Church & Believer - Provision To Be Firm & Stable
Seven things, given in Acts 2:38-42, are seen in the life of truly Born-Again Christian Believer, from the moment he becomes a part of the Church of the Lord Jesus. We have been considering these in the previous articles, and have seen the first three so far. These three are - First, repentance for and asking the Lord Jesus’s forgiveness for sins, and accepting the Lord Jesus as savior; Second, witnessing for the inner transformation done by the Lord externally, publicly, through baptism; Third, being surrendered and obedient to the Lord, separating out from the world and worldliness and being devoted to the work of the Lord, at any cost. It is evident that without a true and commitment and full surrender to the Lord, doing any of these is not possible for anyone, because it is not possible to remain true and committed to the Lord in adverse circumstances and trying situations without having the power of the Holy Spirit. And, the power of the Holy Spirit is only with the factual disciples of the Lord Jesus; not with those who have joined the Church through some man-made process or institutional activity. This by itself brings out the difference between the truly committed people of the Lord and those not joined to the Church by the Lord, but who have joined the Church on their own.
In Acts 2:41, a very important change in lives has been shown, consequent to the preaching of Peter, “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.” After the first three things, the next four are seen in Acts 2:42 as things in which they “continued steadfastly” i.e., these were continually seen in the lives of those who were joined with the disciples of the Lord. Having been joined to the Church of the Lord Jesus, these four things became an integral part and priority of their lives. These four things are, “apostles' doctrine [i.e., studying and learning the Word of God from the disciples of the Lord], and fellowship [i.e., remaining in the company of Lord’s people or God’s children], in the breaking of bread [i.e., participating in Holy Communion with Lord’s disciples], and in prayers [i.e., communicating with the Lord God at a personal level].” These four things are like four pillars for the Christian life and the Church, to provide it stability and firmness, against the wiles and attacks of the devil. If in Christian Believer’s life, any one of these pillars becomes weak, or breaks down, his Christian life will immediately become weak and unstable. In whichever local Assembly or Church these four are not seen as being practiced or adhered to “steadfastly”, that Assembly or Church will become weak, will become unfruitful for the Lord, and Satan will have ample opportunity to do his work there and disrupt it. To indicate their collective application and importance, they have been stated together in one sentence, along with the fact that the Christian Believers “continued steadfastly” in them.
In the personal lives of most of those who call themselves Christians, and even in their collective gatherings, in their “churches”, the importance and adherence to these four are things is usually not seen, or not seen with the intensity or steadfastness it ought to be present. Rather, what is seen is that usually either one or two of these four is practised as a formality. This by itself is a great proof that their lives are not really joined with the Lord; they are attached to the Church externally, only for a ‘show’, and not really. In reality they are still joined to the world, they are still the people of the world, not the Lord; therefore, they give more importance to the world and the things of the world, and follow them. If they are able to find some time after their involvement with the things of the world, then to show their association with the Lord, as a formality, they may perfunctorily fulfill one thing or the other. If we consider these seven things in the order they have been given, then it is apparent that the person who really repents of sins and is transformed within, witnesses of this inner transformation publicly by baptism, and separates himself away from the things of the world and worldliness, he will automatically also have a natural desire to remain steadfastly involved in these four things. From the next article, we will look in some detail about each of these four pillars of Christian life, individually.
In those who call themselves “Christians” but actually are not, there is a common excuse found for not fulfilling these four things - “there is no time, how then can we do them?” After spending their time and energies in things of the world and worldliness, they have no time or energy left to spend with the Lord, to be useful for the Lord. Then another excuse is added to this one, “The Lord knows our hearts and life; He knows that we do love Him and care for Him, but are unable to give time to Him. He knows and understands our condition, He is loving and gracious, and will reward us according to His grace and compassion.” But these people fail to realize and understand what will happen to them on the day of judgement, when they are to stand before the Lord and give an account of their lives to Him? What answer will they have when the Lord says to them, “Yes, I am gracious and compassionate; that is why for so many years I patiently kept coming to you over and over again, to have fellowship with you, to give you rest and blessings, to help you and guide you; I kept asking for your time to strengthen you and lift you out of the temporal into the eternal; I kept sending messages to you through my disciples, my children; I kept pleading with you to set your priorities right. But you spurned all my attempts, and chose the perishing world and its things; you always gave more importance to the world and worldliness than Me; for you the temporal benefits of the world were always more important than the eternal blessings and benefits I could give you. You well knew that the things you are laboring for, striving after, and living for will all be destroyed one day; none of them, not even a fraction, will go with you. You also knew that the rewards that will be given to you at the end, will be according to what you have done for Me, not for the world. But still you continued to give priority and importance to the world, you remained useful for the world, never for Me. Now, this is the day of my fair and equitable judgement, about which I kept warning you, and wanted to prepare you for. But you never paid due heed to my warnings and teachings. Therefore, today, according to your own decisions, that you have taken knowledgeably, willingly, and being fully aware of everything, you will reap a harvest of what you have sown in your lives. You have sown seeds of perishing, and will reap a harvest of destruction.”
The time, efforts, and labor put in for the Lord are never a waste or in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58); rather it is like an investment that has a guaranteed return of at least a hundredfold along with eternal blessings (Mark 10:29-30). Those who give their time and labour to the Lord as a priority, the Lord besides His eternal blessings, also gives them back enough time, strength, and wisdom to be successful and growing in their work for the world, and continue to be useful and fruitful for the Lord and grow in Him as well. One only has to step out in faith and move in the right direction.
If you are a Christian Believer, then check where you stand in your life in relation to these seven things, and evaluate your life and priorities, while you have the time and opportunity from the Lord. What place do the instructions and commandments of the Lord, and their obedience have in your life? If the Lord Jesus, His Word, and His obedience are not the priority of your life, and you are more inclined towards the world and gains of the world, then, very seriously review and re-assess your life and correct everything that needs to be corrected, before it is too late.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
