सुसमाचार से संबंधित शिक्षाएँ – 1
परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में शब्द ‘सुसमाचार’ सबसे पहले नए नियम की पहली तीन पुस्तकों में, अर्थात, मत्ती, मरकुस, और लूका रचित सुसमाचारों में उपयोग किया गया है, और यूहन्ना रचित सुसमाचार में यह शब्द कहीं भी नहीं आया है। मूल यूनानी भाषा में जो शब्द उपयोग किया गया है, जिसका हिन्दी में अनुवाद ‘सुसमाचार’ किया गया है, उस यूनानी शब्द का शब्दार्थ होता है ‘भला / शुभ समाचार।’ इन तीनों ही पुस्तकों में, इस शब्द को सबसे पहले प्रभु यीशु मसीह की सेवकाई के संबंध में उपयोग किया गया है, और फिर उसके बाद प्रभु की सेवकाई से संबंधित कुछ अन्य बातों के संदर्भ में उपयोग किया गया है। आइए हम नए नियम के उन पदों को देखते हैं जिन में शब्द ‘सुसमाचार’ सबसे पहले तीनों सुसमाचारों में, अर्थात प्रभु यीशु के जीवन के वृत्तांतों में उपयोग किया गया है:
- मत्ती 4:23 “और यीशु सारे गलील में फिरता हुआ उन की सभाओं में उपदेश करता और राज्य का सुसमाचार प्रचार करता, और लोगों की हर प्रकार की बीमारी और दुर्बलता को दूर करता रहा।”
- मरकुस 1:1 “परमेश्वर के पुत्र यीशु मसीह के सुसमाचार का आरम्भ।”
- लूका 4:18 “कि प्रभु का आत्मा मुझ पर है, इसलिये कि उसने कंगालों को सुसमाचार सुनाने के लिये मेरा अभिषेक किया है, और मुझे इसलिये भेजा है, कि बन्धुवों को छुटकारे का और अन्धों को दृष्टि पाने का सुसमाचार प्रचार करूं और कुचले हुओं को छुड़ाऊं।”
इन पदों से हम देखते हैं कि प्रत्येक वृत्तान्त में शब्द ‘सुसमाचार’ अर्थात ‘भला समाचार’ किस प्रकार से उपयोग किया गया है: मत्ती में भले समाचार का विषय परमेश्वर का राज्य है; मरकुस में विषय परमेश्वर का पुत्र यीशु मसीह है; और लूका में, विषय वे हैं जिन की ओर सुसमाचार का झुकाव था – कंगाल। साथ ही, मत्ती तथा लूका से इस बात पर भी ध्यान कीजिए कि शारीरिक चंगाई देना, यद्यपि यह प्रभु यीशु ही के द्वारा दी गई है, किन्तु वह एक पृथक गतिविधि है, वह ‘सुसमाचार’ या ‘भले समाचार’ का भाग नहीं है – मत्ती में सुसमाचार के प्रचार और चंगाई करने के मध्य एक संयोजक या समुच्चयबोधक शब्द ‘और’ भी दिया गया है। मत्ती में वाक्य की रचना यह दिखाती है कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने पृथ्वी पर अपनी सेवकाई के दौरान तीन भिन्न तरह के कार्यों को किया – सभाओं में उपदेश दिया, सुसमाचार का प्रचार किया, और बीमारों तथा दुर्बलों को चंगा किया। मरकुस बस सीधे से इतनी सी बात कहता है कि उसके द्वारा लिखित यह सम्पूर्ण वृत्तान्त परमेश्वर के पुत्र प्रभु यीशु के बारे में है, और फिर वह तुरन्त ही यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देने वाले, जो प्रभु यीशु का अगर-दूत था, का परिचय प्रदान करता है और उसकी सेवकाई के बारे में बताता है। मत्ती के समान, लूका भी प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा सुसमाचार प्रचार किए जाने का उल्लेख करता है, साथ ही यह भी कहता है कि प्रभु के द्वारा सुसमाचार के प्रचार का झुकाव कंगालों की ओर था।
हमने इन तीन पदों से जो सीखा है, उसे साथ रखकर देखने से हम ‘सुसमाचार, या ‘भला समाचार’ क्या है, और किस के बारे में है, इस बात की एक सीधी और सामान्य समझ बना सकते हैं। सुसमाचार, या भला-समाचार परमेश्वर के राज्य के बारे में है, जिसे परमेश्वर ने कंगालों और तिरस्कृत लोगों को भी अपने पुत्र प्रभु यीशु के जीवन और सेवकाई में होकर उपलब्ध करवाया है। इस की पुष्टि, मरकुस द्वारा रचित इसी वृत्तान्त में इस के कुछ ही बाद के पदों से हो जाती है, “यूहन्ना के पकड़वाए जाने के बाद यीशु ने गलील में आकर परमेश्वर के राज्य का सुसमाचार प्रचार किया। और कहा, समय पूरा हुआ है, और परमेश्वर का राज्य निकट आ गया है; मन फिराओ और सुसमाचार पर विश्वास करो” (मरकुस 1:14-15)। सुसमाचार से संबंधित बहुधा प्रचार की जाने वाली और सिखाई जाने वाली, प्रचलित किन्तु गलत धारणा के विपरीत, सुसमाचार, परमेश्वर की उदारता के द्वारा शारीरिक चंगाई और नश्वर लाभ प्राप्त करने या साँसारिक संपत्ति और समृद्धि प्राप्त करने के बारे में नहीं है। यह मानव-जाति को परमेश्वर के स्वर्गीय राज्य के प्रभु यीशु मसीह में होकर उपलब्ध करवाए जाने के बारे में है। क्योंकि परमेश्वर के स्वर्गीय राज्य में, मनुष्यों के शारीरिक स्वास्थ्य और सांसारिक संपत्ति का कोई महत्व नहीं है, वे निरर्थक हैं, इसलिए प्रभु यीशु का अपने आप को स्वर्गीय वैभव और महिमा से शून्य करके, पृथ्वी पर मनुष्य बनकर आने, दुःख और अपमान उठाने, अपराधी के समान क्रूस पर मारे जाने (फिलिप्पियों 2:7-8), और मृतकों में से फिर से जी उठने का, केवल इसलिए कि उनमें होकर मनुष्यों को नश्वर और अल्पकालीन स्वास्थ्य और संपत्ति मिल सके, का कोई अर्थ और महत्व नहीं निकलता है। इन बातों को तो सँसार के लोग अपने ही प्रयासों और योग्यताओं से भी प्राप्त कर लेते हैं। यदि प्रभु यीशु मसीह को इतना सब सहना पड़ा, तो अवश्य ही इसका कोई अनन्तकालीन और उत्तम महत्व होगा। हम अगले लेख में भी सुसमाचार के बारे में समझ को बाइबल से और अधिक विकसित करना ज़ारी रखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 1
In God’s Word, the Bible, the word ‘gospel’ has been used for the first time in the first three books of the New Testament, i.e., the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke; and does not occur anywhere in John’s Gospel. The word used in the original Greek language, and translated as ‘gospel’ in the English language literally means ‘good-news.’ In each of these three books, this word has first been used in connection with the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, and then in relation to some other things related to the Lord’s ministry. Let us look at the verses in which the word ‘gospel’ has first been used in each of the first three ‘Gospels’ i.e., the biographical accounts of the Lord Jesus:
- Matthew 4:23 "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people."
- Mark 1:1 "The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God."
- Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;"
We see from these verses, how the word ‘gospel’ i.e., ‘good-news’ has first been used in each of the accounts: In Matthew the subject of the good-news is the kingdom of God; in Mark, it is Jesus Christ the Son of God; and in Luke, those to whom it was directed – the poor. Also notice from Matthew and Luke that administering physical healings of various kinds is a separate activity, although done by the Lord Jesus, but not as a part of the ‘gospel’ or the ’good-news’ – in Matthew there is the conjunction ‘and’ between the preaching of the gospel and the carrying out of the healings. The construction of the sentence in Matthew shows that the Lord Jesus at the beginning His earthly ministry, did three different kinds of activities during His time on earth – teaching in the synagogues, preaching the gospel, and healing the sick and diseased. Mark simply states that the whole of the subsequent account written by him is about Jesus Christ the Son of God; and then he straightaway introduces John the Baptist, the forerunner of the Lord Jesus, and his ministry. Like Matthew, Luke too refers to the Lord preaching the gospel, but specifies that the Lord’s preaching of the gospel was directed to the poor.
Now, by putting together what we learn from these three verses, we can build a basic understanding of what the ‘gospel’ i.e., the ‘good-news’ is, and what it is about. The gospel, or the good news is about the Kingdom of God, made available by God to even the poor and lowly, through the life and ministry of His son the Lord Jesus Christ. This is affirmed by what Mark says a few verses later in his narrative, “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel’” (Mark 1:14-15). Unlike the popularly held, preached, and taught misconception about the gospel, it is not about gaining or getting physical healings and temporal gains or acquiring worldly riches and prosperity through the benevolence of the Lord God. It is about the heavenly Kingdom of God being made available to all of mankind through the Lord Jesus Christ. Since, in the heavenly Kingdom of God, man’s physical health and earthly wealth count for nothing, are inconsequential, therefore, it makes no sense for the Lord Jesus to empty Himself of all heavenly glory and magnificence, come down to earth as a man, suffer, be humiliated and crucified to die like a criminal (Philippians 2:7-8), and then to rise again from the dead, to make available to mankind temporal and transient health and wealth – earthly things that are inconsequential and worthless in heaven; things which the people of the world can acquire by their own efforts and means. If the Lord Jesus had to go through all this, then of necessity it must be something of greater and eternal value. We will continue developing this Biblical understanding of the gospel in the next article.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
