परमेश्वर की क्षमा और न्याय – 4
पाप के प्रभाव, प्रतिफल, और परिणाम – 1
इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई छठी आरम्भिक बात, “अन्तिम न्याय” पर पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल इस बात के लिए बिल्कुल स्पष्ट है कि यह अन्तिम न्याय मसीही विश्वासियों का होगा, प्रभु यीशु मसीह द्वारा किया जाएगा, और विश्वासी की प्रत्येक बात, वह चाहे भली हो या बुरी, जो उसने की या अपने मन में रखी है, वह सब प्रकट की जाएगी और उसका न्याय किया जाएगा, ताकि प्रत्येक को उद्धार पाने के बाद से उसने जो मसीही जीवन जिया है, उसके प्रतिफल और परिणाम उसे दिए जाएँ। लेकिन अधिकाँश मसीहियों के लिए यह स्वीकार करना कठिन है कि उनके बारे में सभी बातें, वे भी जो उनके मनों में हैं, और उनके वे पाप भी जिनका अंगीकार करके वे क्षमा माँग चुके हैं, उनके न्याय के लिए वे सभी प्रकट कर दी जाएंगी। इसके लिए अपनी आपत्ति को प्रमाणित करने के लिए वे बाइबल के उन पदों को दिखाते हैं जो कहते हैं कि परमेश्वर पापों को क्षमा करके उन्हें भुला देता है, अपनी पीठ के पीछे फेंक देता है। हम इन पदों को पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं, और कह चके हैं कि इन पदों को उनके सन्दर्भ में, न केवल तात्कालिक सन्दर्भ, बल्कि दूर के अर्थात अन्य स्थानों दिए गए पर बाइबल के सम्बन्धित पदों और खण्डों के सन्दर्भ में देखना और समझना चाहिए। जब परमेश्वर द्वारा पापों को क्षमा करने और भुला देने को उसके सही सन्दर्भ में देखा और समझा जाता है, तो फिर वचन में कोई विरोधाभास नहीं रहता है, वरन ये पद परमेश्वर के न्याय का समर्थन करते हैं, और परमेश्वर के वचन की अखण्डता की पुष्टि करते हैं। इन पदों की गलत समझ और व्याख्या का एक बहुत दुखद और दुर्भाग्य पूर्ण परिणाम है कि इन का पाप करने का लाइसेंस होने के समान दुरुपयोग किया जाता है – हम इसके बारे में भी पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं। सही सन्दर्भ को समझने, और फिर उसे लागू करके इन पदों की सही व्याख्या और समझ तक पहुँचने के लिए, हमें यह समझना पड़ेगा कि पहले पाप के किए जाने के समय अदन की वाटिका में क्या कुछ हुआ। इस विषय को इसी ब्लॉग पर पाप तथा उद्धार के बारे में एक पुरानी श्रृंखला में विस्तार से देखा जा चुका है, लेकिन आज से हम हमारे वर्तमान विषय से सम्बन्धित बातों को बहुत संक्षेप में देखेंगे।
परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य को अपने ही स्वरूप में रचा और उसे पृथ्वी पर अधिकार दिया (उत्पत्ति 1:26-29)। परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य के लिए एक वाटिका लगाई, और उस वाटिका के मध्य में, अन्य वृक्षों के अतिरिक्त, जीवन का वृक्ष तथा भले और बुरे के ज्ञान का वृक्ष भी लगाया (उत्पत्ति 2:7-9)। मनुष्य को सभी वृक्षों के फलों को खाने की अनुमति थी, केवल भले और बुरे के ज्ञान के वृक्ष के फल को खाना मना था; परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य को चेतावनी दी, कि यदि वह उस वर्जित फल को खाएगा, तो वह मर जाएगा (उत्पत्ति 2:15-17)। वर्जित फल को खाने से सम्बन्धित प्रचलित और मान्य धारणा से भिन्न, मूल इब्रानी भाषा में यह नहीं लिखा है कि मनुष्य फल खाते ही, तुरन्त ही मर जाएगा; यह “तुरन्त” अंग्रेजी या हिन्दी अनुवादों में भी नहीं लिखा गया है; और वास्तव में यह “तुरन्त” लेख के अर्थ में बाहर से डाला गया है। इब्रानी भाषा के मूल वाक्य का वास्तविक अर्थ है कि जिस पल मनुष्य फल को खाएगा, उसी पल से उसके मरने की प्रक्रिया आरम्भ जो जाएगी, अर्थात, उसका मरते चले जाना और मिट्टी में मिलने के लिए बढ़ते जाना आरम्भ हो जाएगा, उसी पल से जिस पल वह परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता करेगा और उस फल को खा लेगा। और तब से मनुष्यों के साथ यही होता चला आ रहा है, अपने जन्म के समय से ही प्रत्येक मनुष्य के जीवन की उलटी गिनती आरम्भ हो जाती है, वह मरना आरम्भ कर देता है, और अन्ततः, एक निर्धारित समय पर उसके लिए यह मरने की प्रक्रिया पूर्ण हो जाती है, वह मर जाता है, फिर मिट्टी में मिल जाता है। मृत्यु उस फल में नहीं थी; मृत्यु परमेश्वर द्वारा मनुष्य को दी आज्ञा की अनाज्ञाकारिता करने में थी। इस से हम दो मुख्य शब्दों, पाप और मृत्यु पर आते हैं।
संक्षेप में, बाइबल कहती है कि पाप परमेश्वर के नियम का उल्लंघन करना, उसकी व्यवस्था को तोड़ना है, “जो कोई पाप करता है, वह व्यवस्था का विरोध करता है; और पाप तो व्यवस्था का विरोध है” (1 यूहन्ना 3:4)। इस व्यवस्था में परमेश्वर के द्वारा दी गई दस आज्ञाएँ (निर्गमन 20:1-20) तथा वे दो महान आज्ञाएँ (मत्ती 22:35-40) भी सम्मिलित हैं जिन पर परमेश्वर के द्वारा, उसके नबियों में होकर दिए गए सभी निर्देश और दी गईं सभी आज्ञाएँ आधारित हैं। साथ ही, “सब प्रकार का अधर्म तो पाप है...” (1 यूहन्ना 5:17), वह चाहे किसी भी प्रकार से, किसी भी परिस्थिति में, किसी भी उद्देश्य से, किसी भी व्यक्ति के द्वारा क्यों न किया गया हो। बाइबल के अनुसार पाप की दशा में होना, एक मानसिक दशा है। पाप मनुष्य के मन में निवास करता है, उसकी जड़ें मनुष्य के हृदय या मन में होती हैं। पाप का बाहरी प्रकटीकरण मनुष्य के मन से निकलकर होता है, तथा उपयुक्त परिस्थितियों और समय के अनुसार, यह पाप विभिन्न प्रकार की पापमय शारीरिक क्रियाओं में, या भावनाओं में, या मन के विचारों में प्रकट हो जाता है।
मानवीय क्षमताओं के सन्दर्भ में, मृत्यु का अर्थ होता है मानवीय रीति से कभी वापस पलटा न जा सकने वाला हमेशा के लिए अलग हो जाना। यही बात आलंकारिक भाषा में भी व्यक्त की जाती है जब किसी सम्बन्ध के पूर्णतः टूट जाने के लिए कहा जाता है, “आज से तू मेरे लिए मर गया,” अर्थात परस्पर सम्बन्ध ऐसी स्थायी रीति से तोड़ दिया है मानो मृत्यु ने अलग कर दिया हो। बाइबल के अनुसार मृत्यु दो तरह की हो सकती है – शारीरिक और आत्मिक। शारीरिक मृत्यु में व्यक्ति अपने रिश्तेदारों, मित्रों, परिवार के सदस्यों, और सँसार के सभी लोगों से स्थायी रीति से ऐसा अलग हो जाता है कि उसे किसी भी मानवीय प्रयास से वापस नहीं लाया जा सकता है; उसके शरीर और आत्मा का सम्बन्ध समाप्त हो जाता है। आत्मिक मृत्यु मनुष्य और परमेश्वर के मध्य जो संगति और सहभागिता अदन की वाटिका में, मनुष्य के पाप करने से पहले थी, उस सम्बन्ध का टूट जाना है। परमेश्वर के प्रति आदम और हव्वा की अनाज्ञाकारिता के कारण परमेश्वर के साथ यह सम्बन्ध टूट गया, और मनुष्य मृत्यु, अर्थात परमेश्वर से हमेशा के लिए अलग हो जाने के लिए दोषी होने की दशा में आ गया। उद्धार परमेश्वर के साथ इसी सम्बन्ध को फिर से स्थापित कर देना है, जो प्रभु यीशु द्वारा कलवरी के क्रूस पर दिए गए बलिदान और प्रायश्चित के द्वारा ही सम्भव होता है। इस मूल तथ्य और सिद्धान्त को सही रीति से समझे बिना, बाइबल के अनुसार उद्धार के सिद्धान्त को, तथा हमारे विषय – परमेश्वर द्वारा पापों को क्षमा करना और भुला देना, को ठीक से कभी नहीं समझा जा सकता है।
अगले लेख में हम यहीं से आगे बढ़ेंगे और देखेंगे कि पाप ने मनुष्य पर तथा परमेश्वर के साथ उसके सम्बन्ध पर क्या प्रभाव डाला।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

God’s Forgiveness and Justice – 4
The Effects, Results and Rewards of Sin - 1
In the preceding articles on “Eternal Judgment,” the sixth elementary principle of Hebrews 6:1-2 we have seen that the Word God, the Bible is very clear that this final judgment will be of the Christian Believers, will be carried out by the Lord Jesus, and everything, whether good or bad that the Believer has done or kept in heart, will laid open, and judged, to give everyone the rewards and consequences of the Christian lives they have lived since salvation. But for most Christians this is something very difficult to accept, especially that everything about them, including that in their hearts, and the sins that they have confessed and asked forgiveness for, will also be laid open for this judgment. In defense of their objections, they show verses from God’s Word that say that God forgives and forgets sin, throwing the sins behind His back. We have mentioned these verses in the earlier articles, and have said that these verses need to be seen and interpreted in their context – not just the immediate one, but also the remote context of related verses and passages, at other places in the Bible. When these verses about God’s forgiveness and forgetting sin are seen in the proper context, there remains no contradiction, rather the verses complement God’s judgment, and affirm the integrity of God’s Word. The very sad and unfortunate consequence of the prevalent incomplete understanding and interpretation of these verses is that they have been misused as a license to sin – we have seen about it in the earlier articles. To understand the proper context and then to correctly interpret and understand these verses, we need to understand what happened in the Garden of Eden along with the committing of the first sin. This topic has been considered in detail in an earlier series on sin and salvation in this blog, but from today we will consider very briefly the points relevant to our present consideration.
God created man in His image and gave him dominion over everything on earth (Genesis 1:26-29). God planted a garden specifically for man, and besides the other trees, also put the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the midst of the garden (Genesis 2:7-9). Man was permitted to eat the fruits of every tree except for the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; God warned man that if he eats the forbidden fruit, he will die (Genesis 2:15-17). Quite unlike the popular misconception about eating the forbidden fruit and dying, in the original Hebrew language it is not written that God said man would die immediately on eating the fruit; that “immediately” is not said even in the English translations of the Bible, and actually is an inaccurate extrapolation of the text. What the actual sentence in Hebrew language means is that from the time man ate the fruit, he will begin to die, i.e., the process of his succumbing to death and returning to dust will get initiated, i.e., from the moment he disobeys God and eats that fruit. And that has what has been happening since then, every person begins to die at the moment of his birth, and eventually, after a certain time this process of dying is completed and the person dies, then turns back into dust. The death was not in the fruit; the death was in the disobedience of God’s commandment given to man. This brings us to two key words that we need to understand – sin and death.
In short, the Bible states that the violation of God’s commandments, the transgression of His Law is sin. This Law includes His Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1–20), and the Two Great Commandments (Matthew 22:35–40) upon which all of God's Commandments and all the instructions and the teachings given by Him through His prophets are based, “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness" (1 John 3:4). Secondly, every kind of iniquity or unrighteousness is sin, “All unrighteousness is sin …” (1 John 5:17), in whatever manner, under whatever circumstances, for whatever purpose this may have been done, by any person. According to the Bible, being in sin is a state of the mind. Sin lives in, and has its roots in the heart or mind of man. Its outward manifestations have their origin the heart or mind of man, then in conducive circumstances and a favorable time it manifests itself externally in various kinds of ‘sinful’ bodily actions, or in feelings, and thoughts kept in one’s mind.
Death means a humanly irreversible separation; irreversible both in terms of human capabilities and context, i.e., an irreversible and permanent disassociation or separation. The same thing is also expressed in figurative language to express the breaking of relationship permanently; when a person says to another "from today you have died for me", it means that the relationship between them has so irreversibly and permanently ended, as if it was death that has separated them. Biblically, death can be of two kinds – physical and spiritual. When a person dies physically, he is so permanently separated from his relatives, friends, family members, and everyone in the world, that he cannot return or be brought back by any human effort; his body and soul are separated from each other. Spiritual death is the separation of man’s spirit from the communion and fellowship man had with God in the Garden of Eden, before man sinned. Salvation is the restoration of this communion and fellowship of man with God, through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Because of the sin of disobedience towards God, committed by Adam and Eve, this fellowship between God and man was broken, and man came under the condemnation of death, i.e., of being eternally separated from God forever. Without clearly understanding this very important and fundamental fact, it is impossible to grasp the Biblical understanding of salvation, and our topic of God forgiving and forgetting sins.

You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
