इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई छः आरम्भिक बातों में से चौथी, “हाथ रखना,” पर हमने पिछले लेख से अध्ययन आरंभ किया है, और हम इसका अध्ययन अंग्रेजी की NKJV बाइबल में उपयोग किए गए वाक्यांश “laying of hands,” या “laying on of hands” के आधार पर कर रहे हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि वाक्यांश “हाथ रखना,” का उपयोग बाइबल में कई स्थानों पर किया गया है, और भिन्न अर्थ एवं अभिप्रायों के साथ किया गया है। इस वाक्यांश का सही अर्थ, उपयोग किए जाने के स्थान पर उसके सन्दर्भ एवं जिस रीति से उसे उपयोग किया गया है, वे बातें निर्धारित करती हैं। इस वाक्यांश का एक ही अर्थ और अभिप्राय बाइबल में सभी स्थानों पर सामान्य रीति से मान्य नहीं माना जा सकता है। हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि बाइबल में, उत्पत्ति और निर्गमन की पुस्तकों में, यह वाक्यांश पहली चार बार, हानि पहुँचाने के अभिप्राय से उपयोग किया गया है।
इसके बाद इस वाक्यांश का अगला उपयोग लैव्यव्यवस्था नामक पुस्तक में (10 बार) और फिर गिनती की पुस्तक में (3 बार) हुआ है। लैव्यव्यवस्था नामक पुस्तक में (लैव्यव्यवस्था 3:2, 8, 13; 4:4, 15, 24, 29, 33; 16:21; 24:14), और गिनती की पुस्तक में पहली दो बार (गिनती 8:10, 12), इस वाक्यांश का उपयोग पापों के, लोगों से, बलिदान किए जाने वाले पशु पर स्थानान्तरित करने को दिखाने के लिए किया गया है (लैव्यव्यवस्था 16:21)। गिनती की पुस्तक के दोनों सम्बन्धित पदों से हम देखते हैं कि इस्राएलियों को अपने हाथ लेवियों पर रखने थे, और फिर लेवियों को अपने हाथ बलि के लिए ठहराए गए पशु पर रखने थे। यह इस्राएलियों के पापों को, परमेश्वर के समक्ष उनके मध्यस्थ – लेवियों पर स्थानान्तरित किए जाने को, और फिर लेवियों से बलि के लिए निर्धारित पशु पर किए जाने को दर्शाता था, जिसे फिर परमेश्वर के समक्ष बलि कर दिया जाता था। ऐसी ही प्रक्रिया हारून और उसके घराने के पहली बार प्रभु के सम्मुख याजकीय सेवकाई के लिए नियुक्त किए जाने के समय उनके शुद्धिकरण के लिए भी की गई थी (निर्गमन 29:10)। उनकी शुद्धिकरण की प्रक्रिया का एक भाग था, उनके पापों का, बलिदान के लिए निर्धारित पशु पर स्थानान्तरित किया जाना, और फिर उस पशु का बलिदान किया जाना, अर्थात वह पशु उस पर लादे गए पापों के लिए अपनी जान बलिदान करता था। यह प्रभु यीशु द्वारा सभी लोगों के पापों को अपने ऊपर ले लेने, और फिर उन पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए अपने प्राण बलिदान करने (इब्रानियों 10:10) का प्रतीक था। प्रभु यीशु लोगों के लिए परमेश्वर के सम्मुख ‘लेवी’ अर्थात मध्यस्थ भी था, तथा बलिदान के लिए निर्धारित पशु भी था, जिस पर सारे पाप लादे गए और फिर उसे उस पर पड़े हुए उन पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए कलवरी के क्रूस बलिदान किया गया। इस प्रकार से बाइबल में वाक्यांश “हाथ रखना” पापों को स्थानान्तरित करने, ज़िम्मेदारी को देने और प्राण देने तक उसका निर्वाह करना स्वीकार करने (प्रकाशितवाक्य 2:10) को भी दिखाता है।
हम इस वाक्यांश के विभिन्न अभिप्रायों के साथ उपयोग किए जाने के अपने इस अध्ययन को परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के अंग्रेजी के NKJV अनुवाद में से देखने को अगले लेख में ज़ारी रखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Laying on of Hands - 2
In our study of the six elementary principles stated in Hebrews 6:1-2, since the last article we have started studying the fourth one, i.e., “laying on of hands,” and we are studying it through its usage in the NKJV English Bible. In the last article we have seen that the phrase “laying of hands,” or “laying on of hands” has been used with different meanings at different places in the Bible, and the context as well as the use of this phrase determines the relevant and applicable meaning of the phrase in that passage or verse. One particular meaning of this phrase cannot always be taken as the universally applicable meaning throughout the Bible. We had seen in the last article that the first four times this phrase has been used in the Bible, in the books of Genesis and Exodus, it has been used to convey the intention of causing harm.
The next occurrence of this phrase is in the books of Leviticus (10 times) and Numbers (3 times). In the book of Leviticus (Leviticus 3:2, 8, 13; 4:4, 15, 24, 29, 33; 16:21; 24:14), and the first two instances in the book of Numbers (Numbers 8:10, 12), the use of this phrase has been to denote the transfer of sins from the people to the sacrificial animal (Leviticus 16:21). From the two pertinent verses in the book of Numbers, we see that the Israelites were to put their hands on the Levites, and then the Levite were to put their hands on the sacrificial animals, denoting the transfer of the sins of Israel to their mediators before God – the Levites; and the Levites in turn transferred the sins on to the sacrificial animal, which were then sacrificed before the Lord God. A similar process was also done at the time of the first ordination of Aaron and his sons to serve as priests for the Lord (Exodus 29:10); and one of the steps of their purification was their transferring their sins on to the sacrificial animal by placing their hands on its head. A sinless animal was used to symbolically put the sins of the people upon it, and then it was sacrificed, i.e., paid with its life for the sins that it was now carrying. This was a symbolic representation of the Lord Jesus taking upon Himself all the sins of mankind and sacrificing His life to atone for them (Hebrews 10:10). The Lord Jesus was both the ‘Levite,’ i.e., the mediator for the people, as well as the sacrificial animal on whom the sins were placed and it was then sacrificed on the Cross of Calvary to pay the penalty of those sins, thereby atoning for all those, whose sins it was carrying. So, in the Bible, the phrase “laying of hands,” or “laying on of hands” also stands for transfer of sins, of handing over and taking over a responsibility to fulfill it even to the point of death (Revelation 2:10).
We will continue our study on the use of this phrase, as it occurs in different senses in the English NKJV Bible.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
