प्रभु भोज - गलतियाँ और चेतावनियाँ
प्रभु की कलीसिया में, प्रभु द्वारा जोड़ दिए लोगों के जीवनों में, कलीसिया के आरंभ के समय से ही सात बातें देखी जाती रही हैं, जिन्हें प्रेरितों 2:38-42 में दिया गया है। इनमें से अंतिम चार, एक साथ, प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई हैं, और इन्हें मसीही जीवन तथा कलीसिया की स्थिरता के लिए चार स्तंभ भी कहा जाता है; तथा इनके लिए इसी पद में यह भी लिखा है कि उस आरंभिक कलीसिया के लोग इन बातों का पालन करने में “लौलीन रहे”। हमने इन चारों में से तीसरी, और सातों में से छठी बात, “रोटी तोड़ना” या प्रभु के मेज़ में सम्मिलित होने के बारे में, पिछले लेख से देखना आरंभ किया है। पिछले लेख में हमने अपने शिष्यों के साथ फसह के पर्व का भोज खाने के दौरान प्रभु द्वारा अपनी इस मेज़ की स्थापना किए जाने के बारे में कुछ बातें और मसीही जीवन के लिए उनके अभिप्राय को देखा था। आज इसी विषय को आगे बढ़ाते हुए प्रभु की मेज़ के महत्व के बारे में कुछ बातों को देखते हैं।
प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के विषय पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 में, प्रेरित पौलुस में होकर लिखवाया गया है, क्योंकि उस मण्डली में प्रभु की मेज़ का निरादर हो रहा था, वे लोग उस मेज़ में भाग लेने की गंभीरता और महत्व को अनदेखा करने लग गए थे। इस खंड के 23 पद में पौलुस यह स्पष्ट बता देता है कि प्रभु की मेज़ का यह दर्शन उसे प्रभु से ही प्राप्त हुआ, और उसने उन्हें भी पहुँचा दिया। इस खंड में प्रभु की मेज़ के विषय जो अनुचित बातें उन में देखी जा रही थीं, संक्षिप्त में, वे हैं:
* अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के कारण प्रभु की मेज़ उनके लिए हानि का कारण बन गई थी (पद 17, 27-32)
* उन लोगों में परस्पर फूट और मतभेद थे, और विधर्मी लोग भी थे जो उस मेज़ में सम्मिलित होते थे (पद 18, 19)
* प्रभु की मेज़ उनके लिए साथ मिलकर बैठने का नहीं, वरन भेद-भाव का और एक दूसरे को ऊँचा-नीचा दिखाने का माध्यम बन गई थी (पद 20-22, 33-34)
* इस अनुचित व्यवहार के कारण उन्हें प्रभु से ताड़ना का सामना करना पड़ रहा था, यहाँ तक कि कुछ कि मृत्यु भी हो गई थी (पद 29-32)
पौलुस के द्वारा, पवित्र आत्मा ने उन्हें गंभीरता के साथ सचेत किया कि प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते समय उन्हें भी, और आज हमें भी, उपरोक्त गलतियों को हटाना है, उचित रीति से भाग लेना है।
साथ ही इस खंड में दी गई मेज़ के उद्देश्य और महत्व की तीन बातों को भी ध्यान रखना है। ये तीन बातें हैं:
* प्रभु की मेज़ खाने-पीने का भोज मनाने के लिए नहीं, वरन प्रभु के द्वारा दिए गए अपने बलिदान को स्मरण करने का अवसर है (पद 24-25)। प्रभु ने अपनी देह और लहू का बलिदान क्यों और कैसे दिया, क्या कुछ सहा। उचित गंभीरता, आदर, एवं श्रद्धा के साथ यह स्मरण करना प्रभु के दूसरे आगमन तक चलते रहना चाहिए।
* प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेना, उसकी मृत्यु को प्रचार करने के लिए है (पद 26); अर्थात प्रभु के बलिदान के बारे में औरों को बताने, उन तक सुसमाचार पहुँचाने के लिए। मेज़ में भाग लेने के द्वारा भाग लेने वाला प्रभु की मृत्यु के प्रचार के प्रति अपने समर्पण और आज्ञाकारिता को स्मरण करता तथा दोहराता है।
* प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने से पहले प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को अपने आप को, न किसी अन्य अथवा औरों को, जाँचना है कि वह उचित रीति से भाग ले रहा है कि नहीं; क्योंकि अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने वाला अपने ऊपर दण्ड को लाता है (पद 27-32)। अपने आप को जाँच कर, अपनी गलतियों और पापों को प्रभु के सामने मान कर, उनके लिए पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु से क्षमा माँगने के बाद ही मेज़ में भाग लेना उचित है।
यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Holy Communion - Errors and Cautions
In the Church of the Lord Jesus, in the lives of the people joined to the Church by the Lord, since the inception of the Church, seven things have been seen, which are given in Acts 2:38-42. Of these seven the last four have been given together in one sentence, in Acts 2:42; it is also written in the same sentence that the members of the first Church “continued steadfastly” in them. They have also been called the four pillars giving stability and firmness to Christian life and the Church. We had started to consider the third amongst these four, and the sixth of the seven things - “the breaking of bread” in the last article. In that article we had seen the facts related to the Lord celebrating the Passover with His disciples and instituting the Holy Communion, and seen their implication and application in Christian life. Today, continuing forward with the same theme, we will look at the importance of breaking of bread with the Lord’s people.
God the Holy Spirit has had it written in some detail about participating in the Lord’s Table in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, since the people of that Church had started to take it lightly, ignore its importance and necessity, and the Holy Communion was being dishonored. In verse 23 of this passage, Paul clearly states that he has received these instructions about the Lord’s Table from the Lord, and as he received them, he is passing them on to the Church.
In this passage from 1 Corinthians, in brief, the inappropriate and wrong things related to the Lord’s Table that were being seen amongst them, were:
* Because of partaking in it in a wrong manner, the Lord’s Table had become a cause for harm for them (verses 17, 27-32).
* They were taking part with divisions and dissensions amongst them, and even factions on doctrinal matters existed (verses 18, 19).
* The Lord’s Table, instead of being a place for fellowship and sitting together, had become a place to show discrimination and being superior or better than others (verses 20-22, 33-34).
* Because of this inappropriate behavior, they were facing the Lord’s Judgement, so-much-so, that some had even died (verses 29-32).
Through Paul, they were admonished by the Holy Spirit that to participate in the Lord’s Table, they had to remove these wrong things from amongst them. The same holds true for us today as well; we too need to make sure that none of these wrong practices are seen amongst us Christian Believers.
Along with the above three things about the purpose and importance of the Lord’s Table have been given here, which they, as well as us today, need to adhere to. These three things are:
* The Lord’s Table is not a place for feasting and showing off, but for remembering the Lord’s sacrificing Himself (verses 24-25). While partaking of the Holy Communion one should ponder over why and how the Lord gave His body to be broken and blood to be shed; what all He suffered undergoing this sacrifice. This has to be done and continued with due reverence, honor, and seriousness, till the Lord comes again.
* Partaking of the Holy Communion is to preach the death of the Lord (verse 26); i.e., to tell others about the Lord’s sacrifice, and to take the gospel to them. By participating in the Lord’s Table, the participant reminds himself about his committing himself to be obedient to the Lord and propagating the Lord’s sacrifice; and renews his surrender and commitment.
* Before partaking in the Lord’s Table, the person has to examine himself, not anyone else or others, to ascertain that he is participating worthily, in the proper manner. Since, the one participating unworthily or in an inappropriate manner brings judgement upon himself (verses 27-32). After examining oneself, acknowledging and accepting the wrongs, sins, and shortcomings before the Lord, repenting of them and asking the Lord’s forgiveness for them, only then should a person partake in the Holy Communion.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.
