सुसमाचार से संबंधित शिक्षाएँ – 3
परमेश्वर के वचन से मसीही की बढ़ोतरी की इस श्रृंखला में, हमने आरंभिक विचारों में देखा था कि कलीसिया, विशेषकर पहली कलीसिया, का इतिहास हमें स्पष्ट दिखाता है कि परमेश्वर के शुद्ध, बिना मिलावट के वचन के प्रचार करने, सिखाने, और उसका पालन करने के द्वारा मसीही विश्वास तेजी से फैला, मसीही विश्वासियों की आत्मिक उन्नति हुई, और सारे सँसार भर में कलीसियाओं या मण्डलियों की स्थापना और बढ़ोतरी हुई। बाइबल हमें यह भी सिखाती है कि मसीही विश्वासियों तथा कलीसियाओं में वचन की सही सेवकाई उनकी उन्नति और बढ़ोतरी के लिए अनिवार्य है। हमने यह भी देखा है कि ऐसा होने के लिए तीन प्रकार की बाइबल की शिक्षाओं का कलीसियाओं और विश्वासियों के मध्य में दिया जाना आवश्यक है। ये तीन प्रकार की शिक्षाएँ हैं, सुसमाचार से संबंधित शिक्षाएँ, छः आरंभिक बातों की शिक्षाएँ, और मसीही जीवन से संबंधित शिक्षाएँ। इन तीनों में से हमने पहले प्रकार की, सुसमाचार से संबंधित शिक्षा के बारे में बाइबल में से देखना और सीखना आरंभ किया है।
अभी तक हमने देखा है कि सुसमाचार किसी साँसारिक या पार्थिव लाभ और समृद्धि के बारे में नहीं है, बल्कि परमेश्वर के राज्य के बारे में है, जिसे परमेश्वर ने उसके पुत्र प्रभु यीशु मसीह के कार्य और सेवकाई के द्वारा सभी के लिए उपलब्ध करवाया है, कंगालों और सताए हुओं के लिए भी। प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी पृथ्वी की सेवकाई का आरम्भ सुसमाचार प्रचार के साथ किया, और उनकी सेवकाई के आरम्भ ने अंत के समय के आरम्भ होने की भी सूचना दी है। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा है कि सुसमाचार को प्रभावी होने के लिए दो बातें, वास्तविक मन-फिराना या पश्चाताप करना, और सुसमाचार पर विश्वास करना, दोनों का होना अनिवार्य है; और हम इन दोनों के बारे में बाइबल में से सीखेंगे। हमने पहले मन-फिराने या पश्चाताप करने के बारे में सीखना आरंभ किया है, और इसके बाद हम विश्वास करने के बारे में समझेंगे।
परमेश्वर के वचन में प्रभु यीशु मसीह की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई और सुसमाचार के संदर्भ में, जब हम पश्चाताप या मन-फिराव को देखते हैं, तो हमें पता चलता है कि सुसमाचार के प्रभावी प्रचार और पालन के लिए वास्तविक पश्चाताप कितना अनिवार्य और आधारभूत है। इन पर ध्यान कीजिए:
- प्रभु यीशु मसीह के अग्रदूत, यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देने वाले के प्रचार और सेवकाई में, जो लोगों को प्रभु यीशु की सेवकाई के लिए तैयार करने के लिए थी, प्रथम और प्रमुख विषय पापों से पश्चाताप करना था (मत्ती 3:1-2)। वह केवल उन्हीं को बपतिस्मा देता था जो अपने पापों का अंगीकार करते थे (मत्ती 3:6)। उसने फरीसियों को बपतिस्मा देने से मना कर दिया, क्योंकि वे बस एक औपचारिकता को पूरा करना चाह रहे थे, और यूहन्ना ने उन से कहा कि पहले अपने जीवनों में पश्चाताप को दिखाएं (मत्ती 3:7-12)।
- प्रभु यीशु की सेवकाई और प्रचार का आरम्भिक विषय मन-फिराव या पश्चाताप करना था (मरकुस 1:15)। यह प्रभु यीशु के स्वर्गारोहण से पहले शिष्यों को उनके द्वारा दिए गए अंतिम निर्देशों का भी भाग था (लूका 24:47)। अर्थात, प्रभु यीशु की सेवकाई का आरंभ और समापन दोनों ही पश्चाताप से संबंधित प्रचार के साथ हुए, और उन्होंने यही बात अपने शिष्यों को भी आगे सारे सँसार में ले जाने के लिए सौंप दी।
- प्रभु यीशु के शिष्य, जब उन्हें प्रभु द्वारा पहली बार सेवकाई के लिए भेजा गया, तो अपनी उस पहली सेवकाई के दौरान उन्होंने मन-फिराव का भी प्रचार किया (मरकुस 6:7-12)।
- पश्चाताप ही पिन्तेकुस्त के दिन पतरस द्वारा यरूशलेम में व्यवस्था का पालन करने के लिए एकत्रित हुए (प्रेरितों 2:37-38) भक्त यहूदियों (प्रेरितों 2:5) को किए गए प्रचार का विषय था, जिसके द्वारा पहली कलीसिया का जन्म हुआ। यह ध्यान देने के लिए एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात है; पतरस के प्रचार संदेश को सुनकर इन भक्त यहूदियों के, जो यरूशलेम में व्यवस्था का पालन करने के लिए आए थे, हृदय छिद गए। दूसरे शब्दों में, पतरस के प्रचार सन्देश के द्वारा उन्हें यह एहसास हुआ कि उनका यरूशलेम में इन रीतियों को पूरा करने के लिए एकत्रित होना अपर्याप्त और व्यर्थ था; और तब पतरस उन से पापों से पश्चाताप करने के लिए कहता है। यह स्पष्ट दिखाता है कि उनका भक्त होना, और व्यवस्था की बातों को पूरा करना, पर्याप्त नहीं था; और उन्होंने भी अपने हृदयों में इस बात को समझा, इसीलिए वे यह जानने के लिए कि इस खाली स्थान को भरने के लिए उन्हें अब और क्या करना है, पतरस के सामने पुकार उठे, “हम क्या करें?”
- पौलुस के परिवर्तित होने के बाद, पौलुस की सेवकाई का विषय भी मन-फिराव और प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास करना ही थे (प्रेरितों 20:21)।
- पुराने नियम के परमेश्वर के नबियों के प्रचार का विषय भी मन-फिराव ही था (यिर्मयाह 25:4-5)।
बहुधा यह देखा जाता है कि लोग कहते हैं कि उन्होंने पश्चाताप किया है, मन-फिराव के लिए प्रार्थना की है, और सुसमाचार में विश्वास किया है, किन्तु उनके जीवन उनके इन दावों की पुष्टि नहीं करते हैं। तो फिर हम उनके इन दावों की वास्तविकता को कैसे पहचान सकते हैं? बाइबल हमें दिखाती है कि वास्तविक पश्चाताप के साथ कोई ऐसी गतिविधि भी होती है जो मन-फिराव के सच्चे होने की पुष्टि करती है। हम इसके बारे में अगले लेख में देखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 3
In this series on Christian’s growth through God’s Word, in the preliminary considerations, we had seen that the history of the Church, especially of the first Church, very clearly shows us that the preaching, teaching, and obedience of the pure, unadulterated Word of God resulted in a rapid spread of the Christian Faith, of spiritual maturity of the Christian Believers, and the establishing and growth the Church or Assemblies all over the world. The Bible also teaches that a proper ministry of God’s Word amongst the Christian Believers, and in the Church is necessary for the spiritual maturity of the Believers and the growth of the Church. We have also seen that for this to happen there are three categories of Biblical teachings that are essential and ought to be given amongst Believers and in Churches. These categories are, teachings related to the gospel, about the six basic principles, and those about Christian living. Of these three categories, we have begun considering and learning from the Bible about the first one, teachings related to the gospel.
We have seen so far that the gospel is not about any earthly or temporal gains or prosperity, but about the Kingdom of God, which has been made available by God to everyone, including the poor and the oppressed, through the work and ministry of God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus began His earthly ministry by preaching the gospel, and the beginning of His ministry also marked the beginning of the end times. In the last article we have seen that for the gospel to be effective two things, sincere repentance and believing in the gospel, both are essential; and that we will learn about both of them from the Bible. We have first started to learn what the Bible says about repentance, and then we will take up learning what it means to believe.
In context of the Lord Jesus’s earthly ministry and the gospel in God’s Word, when we look up about repentance, we realise how essential, and integral to the efficacy of the gospel the preaching and practice of sincere repentance is. Consider the following:
- The first and main subject of the preaching and ministry of the forerunner of the Lord Jesus, John the Baptist, to prepare the people for the ministry of the Lord Jesus, was repentance from sins (Matthew 3:1-2). He only baptized those who confessed their sins (Matthew 3:6); and refused to baptize the Pharisees who wanted to get it done perfunctorily, asking them to first demonstrate repentance in their lives (Matthew 3:7-12).
- Repentance was the opening subject of the preaching and ministry of the Lord Jesus (Mark 1:15). It was also a part of the last instructions given by the Lord to His disciples before His ascension (Luke 24:47). So, the Lord Jesus’s earthly ministry began and closed with preaching about repentance, and He handed the same over to His disciples to carry forth into the world.
- The disciples of the Lord Jesus, when they were first sent out for ministry by the Lord, they preached about repentance during their ministry (Mark 6:7-12).
- Repentance was the subject of Peter’s first sermon on the day of Pentecost to the devout Jews (Acts 2:5) gathered in Jerusalem to fulfil the Law (Acts 2:37-38), through which the first Church was born. This is something very important to note; it was these devout Jews who had come to fulfil the Law, they on hearing Peter’s sermon were cut to the heart. In other words, through Peter’s sermon they realized the inadequacy and futility of their gathering in Jerusalem to fulfil the rituals; and to them Peter exhorts to repent of their sins. This clearly implies that their being devout, and their fulfilling the requirements of the Law, was not enough; and even they in their hearts realized this, therefore they cried out to know from Peter, what was it that they needed to do to fill this void.
- Repentance and faith towards the Lord Jesus were the subjects of the ministry of Paul, after his conversion (Acts 20:21).
- Repentance was the theme of the preaching of even of the prophets of the Old Testament (Jeremiah 25:4-5).
It is often seen that people say they have repented, said the prayer for repentance, and have come to believe in the gospel, but their lives do not affirm their claims. How then, can we know about the genuineness of one’s repentance? The Bible shows us that genuine repentance is accompanied by some activity that affirms the genuineness of the repentance. We will see about this in the next article.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
