मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 1 - वचन (3)
व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित प्रेरितों 2:38-42 में दी गई बाइबल की शिक्षाओं के हमारे इस अध्ययन में वर्तमान में हम प्रेरितों 2:42 में दिए गए “मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ” में से पहले स्तम्भ, लौलीन होकर परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखना पर विचार कर रहे हैं। पिछले लेख से हमने बाइबल के ही कुछ पदों के आधार पर देखना आरम्भ किया है कि हमें यत्न से परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल का अध्ययन करना क्यों अनिवार्य है; और हमने यह करने के तीन कारणों को देखा था। आज हम यहीं से आगे बढ़ेंगे, और बाइबल में दिए गए एक और कारण को देखेंगे, कि क्यों प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को गम्भीरता से बाइबल को पढ़ना चाहिए, उसका अध्ययन करना चाहिए।

हमारे पास स्वयं प्रभु यीशु के शब्दों में परमेश्वर के वचन के इस उद्धार देने वाले प्रभाव से सम्बन्धित अन्य उदाहरण भी हैं। प्रभु यीशु ने “बीज बोने वाले” का एक दृष्टान्त दिया था, जिसमें एक बीज बोने वाला बीज, अर्थात परमेश्वर का वचन बोने निकला, और उसने यह काम चार प्रकार की भूमि पर किया - मार्ग में, पत्थरीली भूमि पर, कटीली झाड़ियों में, और अच्छी भूमि पर। हमारे सन्दर्भ के लिए, प्रभु यीशु द्वारा इस दृष्टान्त कि, लूका रचित सुसमाचार में दी गई व्याख्या से दो पदों पर विचार कीजिए “मार्ग के किनारे के वे हैं, जिन्होंने सुना; तब शैतान आकर उन के मन में से वचन उठा ले जाता है, कि कहीं ऐसा न हो कि वे विश्वास कर के उद्धार पाएं। चट्टान पर के वे हैं, कि जब सुनते हैं, तो आनन्द से वचन को ग्रहण तो करते हैं, परन्तु जड़ न पकड़ने से वे थोड़ी देर तक विश्वास रखते हैं, और परीक्षा के समय बहक जाते हैं” (लूका 8:12-13)। जो बीज, अर्थात वचन, मार्ग के किनारे बोया गया वह निष्फल रहा क्योंकि इससे पहले कि उसमें से अँकुर फूटे और जड़ पकड़े, शैतान उसे चुग कर ले गया, कहीं सुनने वाले विश्वास कर लें और उद्धार पाएँ। इसी प्रकार से जो बीज या वचन पत्थरीली भूमि पर पड़ा, वह भी निष्फल रहा, क्योंकि वह जड़ नहीं पकड़ सकता था, अर्थात सुनने वाले ने थोड़ी सी देर के लिए विश्वास किया, और जब परीक्षाएँ आईं, तब वह वापस सँसार में चला गया, क्योंकि वह न तो विश्वास में स्थापित हुआ और न ही बढ़ा। इसलिए, जब परमेश्वर का बोया गया वचन उठा लिया जाता है, तो विश्वास उत्पन्न नहीं होता है; और जब वचन को वास्तविकता में ग्रहण करना और उसके प्रति कोई प्रतिबद्धता नहीं होते हैं, तो केवल एक ऊपरी या अस्थाई विश्वास ही होता है जो अधिक समय तक टिक नहीं पाता है। एक और उदाहरण को देखिए, “वह ये बातें कह ही रहा था, कि बहुतेरों ने उस पर विश्वास किया। तब यीशु ने उन यहूदियों से जिन्होंने उन की प्रतीति की थी, कहा, यदि तुम मेरे वचन में बने रहोगे, तो सचमुच मेरे चेले ठहरोगे” (यूहन्ना 8:30-31)। प्रभु यीशु से परमेश्वर का वचन सुनने के द्वारा ‘बहुतेरों’ ने उस पर विश्वास किया; और उन लोगों को प्रभु ने अपना शिष्य होने की एक कसौटी दी, कि वे केवल इस बात का दावा ही न करें, वरन उसके वचन में बने रहने के द्वारा उसे प्रत्यक्ष जी कर के भी दिखाएँ, जैसा कि प्रेरित यूहन्ना ने अपनी पहली पत्री में, 1 यूहन्ना 2:3-5 में इस बात की पुष्टि की है। इसी प्रकार से क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के लिए पकड़े जाने से पहले प्रभु ने अपनी प्रार्थना में उनके विषय कहा, जो उसके शिष्यों की सेवकाई के द्वारा उसमें विश्वास करेंगे “मैं केवल इन्हीं के लिये बिनती नहीं करता, परन्तु उन के लिये भी जो इन के वचन के द्वारा मुझ पर विश्वास करेंगे, कि वे सब एक हों” (यूहन्ना 17:20)। जो एक बार फिर से लोगों को उद्धार के विश्वास में लाने के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन की भूमिका के महत्व को प्रमुख करता है।
इन अन्त के दिनों में, जैसा कि प्रभु यीशु द्वारा भविष्यवाणी की गई और चेतावनी दी गई, झूठे शिक्षक, प्रचारक, और उनकी गलत शिक्षाएँ सारे संसार में भरी हुई हैं। इन झूठे प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों, की शिक्षाओं, प्रचार, तथा उनके कामों के कारण, प्रतिदिन मसीही विश्वासियों का विश्वास विभिन्न प्रकार से जाँचा और परखा जा रहा है। संसार के हालात और हर जगह होने वाली कई प्रकार की घटनाओं के कारण, बहुतेरे मसीही विश्वासी बहुत चिंतित हैं, दुविधा में हैं कि क्या करें और क्या न करें; किस प्रकार से स्थिति को संभालें? इसलिए यह प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए अनिवार्य है कि वह परमेश्वर के वचन में स्थापित और दृढ़ बना रहे, जो उन्हें इन कठिन समयों में स्थिर और शान्त बनाए रखेगा। जैसा कि प्रभु ने अपने वचन में कहा है, इन बातों के द्वारा परेशान और अचंभित होने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है, बल्कि “जब ये बातें होने लगें, तो सीधे हो कर अपने सिर ऊपर उठाना; क्योंकि तुम्हारा छुटकारा निकट होगा” (लूका 21:28)।
अगले लेख में हम लौलीन होकर परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करने के कारणों को देखना ज़ारी रखेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Things Related to Christian Living – 10
The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 1 - Word (3)
In our study on Biblical teachings related to practical Christian living from Acts 2:38-42, presently we are considering the first of the four “Pillars of Christian Living” given in Acts 2:42, i.e., steadfastly studying God’s Word. From the last article we had started to consider through some Bible verses, why we need to diligently study God’s Word, the Bible; and we had seen three reasons for doing this. Today we will carry on from there, and consider another reason given in the Bible, why every Christian Believer should seriously read and study the Bible.
It is God’s Word that brings people to faith; makes them grow in faith:
God’s Word says in Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” We have seen in the preceding articles, that it was Peter’s preaching based on God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit, that convicted the hearts of devout Jews gathered in Jerusalem to fulfill their religious requirements, about their actual sinful state. We have also seen in some earlier articles that just as it often happens even today, at that time the religious leaders had corrupted the Scriptures by adding their own understanding and personal interpretations to the Scriptures, and had been preaching that corrupted word as “God’s Word” (Matthew 15:9); which it was no longer was. Similarly, throughout His Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5 to 7) the Lord keeps repeating the phrase “you have heard…, but I tell you…” or something to that effect. By saying “you have heard…,” the Lord was pointing out to His audience the various teachings of the Scriptures that had been corrupted by the then religious leaders; and then by saying “but I tell you…,” the Lord was giving to them what the actual Scriptural teaching was. Therefore, all that these devout Jews gathered in Jerusalem had heard were the corrupted teachings from their religious leaders. Therefore, despite their being devout, sincere and religious, the word that they had received from their religious leaders as “God’s word” was unable to convict them of sin, and bring any change in them. Whereas now what Peter and the Lord’s disciples were preaching, was the actual Word of God. Therefore, this “pure milk of the Word” (1 Peter 2:2) brought conviction for sins and faith amongst the hearers.
We have other examples of this saving effect of the true Word of God in the Lord Jesus’s own words. The Lord Jesus had spoken a parable about the “Sower and the seed” where a sower went sowing the seed, i.e., God’s Word, and did so on four types of soil - wayside, rocky, with thorny bushes, and the good soil. Of these four, only the seed i.e., the Word, sown on the prepared good soil brought forth a harvest. For our context, consider two verses from the Lord’s explanation of this parable, as given in Luke 8:12-13 “Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.” The seed i.e., the Word sown by the wayside is infructuous because before it can germinate and take root, the devil takes it away, lest the hearers should believe and be saved. Similarly, the seed, or the Word on the rocky soil becomes ineffective, because it cannot take ‘root,’ meaning that the hearer believes only for a while, and then when temptations come, not having grown or being established in faith, he falls back into the world. So, when the sown Word of God is taken away, there is no faith; where there is no real acceptance and commitment but only a superficial or transient faith, it fails to last. Consider another example, “As He spoke these words, many believed in Him. Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed” (John 8:30-31). The hearing of God’s Word from the Lord Jesus brought ‘many’ to faith in the Lord; and the criteria the Lord gave to them for being His disciple is that they should not just claim to the Lord’s disciples, but demonstrate it by abiding in His Word as the Apostle John affirmed in his first letter, in 1 John 2:3-5. Similarly, the Lord Jesus in His prayer before being caught and taken for crucifixion says regarding those who will believe in Him through the ministry of His disciples “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word” (John 17:20). Once again emphasizing the importance of God’s Word in bringing people to the saving faith in the Lord; and affirming that God’s Word not only brings people to faith but also helps to grow and mature in faith.
In these end times, as had been predicted and warned by the Lord Jesus, false preachers, teachers, and their wrong teachings are so rampant all over the world. Because of these false preachers and teachers, through their preaching, teaching, and deeds, the faith of the Christian Believers is being tested every day in various ways. Because of the state of the world and the various happenings everywhere, many Christian Believers are greatly perplexed and are in a dilemma about what to do, and what not to do; how to manage? Therefore, it is imperative for every Christian Believer to stay well established in God’s Word and evaluate every teaching, every happening through God’s Word. It is by being established in faith through God’s Word which will keep them settled and at peace in these troubling times. As the Lord has said in His Word, not to be troubled and dismayed by these things, but “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28).
In the next article we will continue to look at reasons for steadfastly studying God’s Word.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
