परिचय
जैसा कि हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था, बाइबल की शिक्षाओं की तीसरी श्रेणी व्यावाहरिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित है। वास्तव में नया जन्म पाए हुए सभी मसीही विश्वासियों को अपनी आत्मिक उन्नति के लिए इन शिक्षाओं को जानना और सीखना जरूरी है, जिससे फिर कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी हो सके। ऐतिहासिक दृष्टिकोण से यह माना जाता है कि पहली कलीसिया की स्थापना पिन्तेकुस्त के दिन हुई थी, जब पतरस के सन्देश को सुनने के बाद, “भक्त यहूदियों” (प्रेरितों 2:5) के हृदय छिद गए, उन्हें यह एहसास हुआ कि जिन धार्मिक कार्यों को करने के लिए वे यरुशलेम में एकत्रित हुए हैं, उनसे उनको उद्धार नहीं मिलेगा; और तब उन्होंने पतरस से पूछा कि फिर उन्हें क्या करना चाहिए (प्रेरितों 2:37-38)? पतरस ने पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में उन्हें जो उत्तर दिया वह प्रेरितों 2:40-42 में लिखा है। पतरस के इस उत्तर में सात बातें लिखी गई हैं; और उसी समय पतरस की कही हुई इन बातों पर उनमें से 3000 लोगों ने विश्वास किया, पहली कलीसिया का जन्म हुआ, और इसके आगे के अध्यायों में हम विश्वासियों और कलीसिया की संख्या में एक विस्फोटक बढ़ोतरी को देखते हैं। जैसे-जैसे कलीसियाएँ बढ़ती गईं, शैतान ने भी कलीसिया को बिगाड़ने के प्रयास करना आरम्भ कर दिया; उन आरम्भिक विश्वासियों के मध्य में कुछ समस्याएँ और कुछ प्रश्न उठने लगे, जिससे उनके मध्य में परस्पर वाद-विवाद, संघर्ष, और असहमतियाँ होने लग गईं। इसलिए हम देखते हैं प्रेरितों के काम में आगे चलकर कुछ अन्य निर्देश भी लिखे गए जिन्हें विश्वासियों और कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी के लिए आवश्यक कहा गया है।
विश्वासियों और कलीसियाओं के मध्य में जो विवाद की बातें उठ रही थीं, पवित्र आत्मा के निर्देश में, उनके विषय यरुशलेम की कलीसिया में प्रेरितों तथा अगुवों के द्वारा कुछ निर्देश निर्धारित और स्थापित किए गए (प्रेरितों 15)। जैसा कि प्रेरितों 15:20, 29 में लिखा है, ये निर्देश सभी मसीही विश्वासियों और सभी कलीसियाओं के लिए थे; अर्थात, “मूरतों के बलि किए हुओं से, और लोहू से, और गला घोंटे हुओं के माँस से, और व्यभिचार से, परे रहो।” इसमें कोई सन्देह नहीं है कि परमेश्वर के सम्पूर्ण वचन में, परमेश्वर के लोगों द्वारा परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाला एक भक्ति का जीवन जीने के लिए, परमेश्वर ने कई स्थानों में बहुत सी बातों को लिखवाया है; और वे सभी महत्वपूर्ण हैं, वे सभी परमेश्वर के द्वारा ही दी गई हैं, जैसे कि रोमियो 12 अध्याय। इसलिए ऐसा कदापि नहीं है कि बाइबल अध्ययन के इस भाग में हम जो पढ़ेंगे और सीखेंगे, वह बाइबल की अन्य सभी बातों को अलग कर देता है, या केवल यही अपने आप में जरूरी है; और ना ही किसी को भी यह समझना चाहिए कि ये बातें बाइबल की किसी भी अन्य बात से अधिक आवश्यक हैं, और शेष वैकल्पिक हैं। इस अध्ययन के प्रति यह दृष्टिकोण रखना सर्वथा अनुचित और गलत है। परमेश्वर का सम्पूर्ण वचन समान रूप से महत्वपूर्ण है और परमेश्वर के लोगों के लिए सारा वचन अनिवार्य है।
लेकिन स्वयं पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रेरितों 15 में दिए गए निर्देशों के बारे में कुछ महत्वपूर्ण बात कही है, जहाँ लिखा है “पवित्र आत्मा को, और हम को ठीक जान पड़ा, कि इन आवश्यक बातों को छोड़; तुम पर और बोझ न डालें” (प्रेरितों 15:28)। इसलिए, आरम्भिक कलीसिया के समय में ही, जब मसीही जीवन और कलीसिया से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाएँ और व्यवहार सिखाए और स्थापित किए जाने लगे, उन्हें आने वाली मसीह विश्वासियों की पीढियों के लिए लिखा जाने लगा, उस समय पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा कुछ बातों को आवश्यक, अर्थात, आधारभूत या मूलभूत कहा गया। सभी मसीह विश्वासियों तथा कलीसियाओं में उनका पालन किया जाना था, और इसी उद्देश्य से उन्हें सभी कलीसियाओं में बताया और पहुँचाया गया, और उनका पालन करने से कलीसियाएँ बढ़ती चली गईं (प्रेरितों 16:4-5)। दूसरे शब्दों में इन बातों को मानने और पालन करने से कलीसियाएँ और मसीही विश्वासी, शैतान और उसकी युक्तियों के विरुद्ध दृढ़ता से और जयवन्त होकर खड़े हो सके, उनमें बढ़ोतरी हुई, और वे परमेश्वर के वचन में सिखाई गई शेष बातों का भी पालन कर सके।
ऊपरी तौर से देखने में प्रेरितों 15:20, 29, में दी गई ये चार बातें बहुत ही साधारण और सीधी सी प्रतीत होती हैं। उनकी तुलना में रोमियो 12 अध्याय में और परमेश्वर के वचन के अन्य स्थानों में दी गई बातें कहीं अधिक गम्भीर और महत्वपूर्ण लगती हैं। लेकिन फिर भी पवित्र आत्मा ने इन चार बातों को आवश्यक बातें कहा है, और उन्हें सभी कलीसियाओं और विश्वासियों में पहुँचाने का निर्देश दिया है। जैसे-जैसे कलीसिया और लोगों ने उनका पालन किया, उनमें बढ़ोतरी होती चली गई। प्रेरितों 15 अध्याय में दी गई इन चार बातों, इन चार निर्देशों को सीखने के लिए, अर्थात, वे क्यों दी गईं, और उनके द्वारा किस समस्या का निवारण होना था, यह हमें उन्हें उनके सन्दर्भ में, अर्थात उनसे पहले के पदों को ध्यान में रखते हुए, समझना और सीखना पड़ेगा। इसलिए जब हम उनके अध्ययन पर आएँगे, उस समय हम प्रेरितों 15 अध्याय को आरम्भ से देखना आरम्भ करेंगे और उन बातों की पृष्ठभूमि को देखेंगे, समझेंगे, और सीखेंगे कि पवित्र आत्मा ने इन चार बातों को आवश्यक बातें क्यों कहा, और क्यों उन्हें सभी कालीसियाओं और विश्वासियों के बीच में पहुँचाने के लिए कहा; और यह भी कि वे आज भी सभी मसीह विश्वासियों और कलीसियाओं के लिए वे महत्वपूर्ण क्यों हैं।
अगले लेख से हम प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में दी गई सात बातों को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे, और उन्हें सीखने के बाद फिर हम प्रेरितों 15 अध्याय पर आएँगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation
Things Related to Christian Living – 2
Introduction
As we saw in the last article, the third category of Biblical teachings that the truly Born Again Christian Believers need to know for their spiritual growth, and thereby the growth of the Church, are those related to their practical Christian living. Historically speaking, it is said that the first Church was established on the day of Pentecost, when after listening to Peter’s sermon, the “devout Jews” (Acts 2:5) were cut to the heart, realized that the religious observances that they had gathered to fulfill in Jerusalem, were not going to provide for their salvation, and so they asked Peter what should they do instead (Acts 2:37-38)? Peter’s response to them, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit is given in Acts 2:40-42. In this response from Peter, seven things are mentioned and, on that very day, three thousand people believed on what Peter said to them, the Church was born, and in the subsequent chapters we see the explosive growth of the Believers and the Church. As the Churches grew, Satan also started trying to disrupt the Church; some problems and questions started rising up amongst those initial Believers, which also led to disputes, debates, and dissensions amongst them. Therefore, in the book of Acts, another set of instructions have been recorded, that are necessary for the growth of Believers, and the Church.
In response to the contentious issues that were being raised amongst the Believers and the Churches, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, some instructions were determined and established by the Apostles and Elders of Jerusalem (Acts 15). These, as given in Acts 15:20 and 29 were meant for all the Believers and the Churches; namely, “abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality”. There is no denying the fact that throughout God’s Word we find many instructions for God’s people, given for a godly living that pleases God, and all of them are important, all of them have been given by God, e.g. as in Romans 12. So, it is neither that what we will be studying in this section of our Bible study is to the exclusion of everything else, nor that only that which is given in these articles is necessary, over and above all else, and the rest are optional. To take this view-point will be absolutely incorrect. The whole of God’s Word, in its entirety, is equally important and necessary for all the people of God.
But the Holy Spirit Himself has specifically said something important about the instructions given in Acts 15:28, “For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things.” So, from the time of the first Church, when teachings and practices of Christian Living and the Church were being established, were being written down for the coming generations, were being explained and implemented amongst the Christian Believers by the Holy Spirit, some things were deemed as basic or foundational by Him. They were meant to be followed by all the Christian Believers and Churches, were delivered to the Churches, and obeying them resulted in the growth of the Churches (Acts 16:4-5). In other words, by obeying and practicing them, the Churches and the Christian Believers were able to stand up firmly and victoriously against Satan and his devices, to grow, and were able to follow all the other things that are taught in the Word of God.
On the face of it, the four things mentioned in Acts 15:20, 29, seem very simple and straightforward. In comparison, the things mentioned in Romans 12 and other places in God’s Word seem much more profound and of far greater importance. Yet, the Holy Spirit called these four things as “necessary things” and had them propagated to all the Churches. As the Churches and people followed them, they grew in their spiritual lives. To learn the importance of these four instructions given in Acts 15, i.e., why were they given and what were they meant to solve, we need to study and understand them in their context, i.e., keeping the preceding verses in mind. Therefore, when we come to studying them, we will be starting from the beginning of Acts 15, develop the background to these instructions and then learn why they were called “necessary things” by the Holy Spirit, and why they were asked to be sent to all the Churches and Christian Believers, and why they are equally important for all the Christian Believers and Churches even today.
From the next article, we will start considering the seven instructions in Acts 2, and after having learnt from them, we will come to Acts 15.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
