प्रभु यीशु में स्थिरता और दृढ़ता का पहला स्तंभ, वचन में स्थापित
पिछले कुछ लेखों में हम देखते आ रहे हैं कि प्रभु की कलीसिया के साथ प्रभु द्वारा जोड़ दिए जाने वाले उसके जन, एक वास्तविक मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में, कलीसिया से जुड़ने के साथ ही सात बातें भी जुड़ जाती हैं, उसके जीवन में दिखने लगती हैं। ये सातों बातें प्रेरितों 2:38-42 में दी गई हैं, और प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में इनका विद्यमान होना कलीसिया के आरंभ से ही देखा जा रहा है। आज भी व्यक्ति के जीवन में इन बातों की सत्यनिष्ठ उपस्थिति यह दिखाती है कि वह व्यक्ति प्रभु का जन है, उसकी कलीसिया के साथ जोड़ दिया गया है। इनमें से पहली तीन को हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं। प्रेरितों 2:42 में शेष चार बातें दी गई हैं, जिनमें उस प्रथम कलीसिया के सभी लोग “लौलीन रहे”। ये चारों बातें साथ मिलकर मसीही जीवन और कलीसिया के लिए चार स्तंभ का कार्य करती हैं, जिससे व्यक्ति का मसीही जीवन और कलीसिया स्थिर और दृढ़ बने रह सकें, और प्रभु मे स्थापित तथा बढ़ते हुए हो सकें। आज से हम इन चारों बातों को अलग-अलग देखना आरंभ करेंगे।
प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई पहली बात है “प्रेरितों से शिक्षा पाना”। जिस समय प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय की घटना घटित हुई, और प्रथम कलीसिया की स्थापना हुई, उस समय परमेश्वर का वचन जो लोगों के पास था, वह हमारी वर्तमान बाइबल का “पुराना नियम” खंड था; और वह भी फरीसियों, शास्त्रियों, सदूकियों के नियंत्रण में था। ये लोग उस वचन को अपनी सुविधा के अनुसार तोड़-मरोड़ कर अपने स्वार्थ के लिए प्रयोग किया करते थे (मत्ती 15:1-9)। साथ ही उन्होंने उस वचन की बहुत सी गलत व्याख्याएं भी लोगों में फैला रखी थीं; इसीलिए प्रभु यीशु के पहाड़ी उपदेश (मत्ती 5-7 अध्याय) में हम बारंबार प्रभु को यह कहते पाते हैं, “तुम सुन चुके हो”, “तुम्हें कहा गया है”, आदि, और फिर “परंतु मैं तुम से कहता हूँ” - अर्थात प्रभु ने वचन की गलत शिक्षाओं को उनके वास्तविक और सही रूप में लोगों के सामने रखा। उस समय के यहूदी समाज के ये धर्म के अगुवे प्रभु यीशु के विरोधी थे, और प्रभु की शिक्षाओं तथा प्रभु यीशु में पापों की क्षमा एवं उद्धार के सुसमाचार के प्रचार और प्रसार का विरोध करते थे। इसलिए इन धर्म के अगुवों के विरोध और परमेश्वर के वचन की उनकी गलत समझ एवं जानकारी के कारण यह संभव ही नहीं था कि प्रभु की सही शिक्षाएं जन-सामान्य तक पहुंचाई जातीं, जो कि अधिकांशतः अनपढ़ या बहुत कम पढे लिखे थे, और परमेश्वर के वचन के बारे में जो उन धर्म के अगुवों ने उन्हें बताया और सिखाया था, उसके अतिरिक्त कुछ नहीं जानते थे। इसीलिए प्रभु ने यह दायित्व अपने चुने हुए लोगों, अपने प्रेरितों को, अपने स्वर्गारोहण के समय सौंपा था (मत्ती 28:18-20)। प्रभु ने अपनी शिक्षाओं का भण्डारी अपने इन प्रेरितों को बनाया था, और उनकी ज़िम्मेदारी थी कि वे लोगों को प्रभु की शिक्षाएं सिखाएं। जैसे-जैसे मण्डली या कलीसिया बढ़ने लगी, शैतान ने भी वचन की सही शिक्षा को, उन प्रेरितों और शिष्यों के ध्यान को भटकाने के द्वारा, लोगों तक पहुँचने से रोकने के प्रयास किए (प्रेरितों 6:1-7) किन्तु उन प्रेरितों ने प्रार्थना और वचन की सेवकाई के प्रति अपने दायित्व की प्राथमिकता को नहीं छोड़ा (6:4), परिणामस्वरूप, वचन का प्रसार हुआ, शिष्यों की संख्या भी बढ़ी, और यहूदी याजकों का भी एक बड़ा समुदाय प्रभु के शिष्यों के साथ जुड़ गया (6:7)।
जब वचन सभी स्थानों पर फैलने लगा, प्रभु यीशु के अनुयायी बढ़ने लगे, तो प्रभु ने वचन की इस सेवकाई, वचन की शिक्षा उसके लोगों तक पहुँचाने के लिए और लोगों को भी कलीसिया में नियुक्त किया (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:28; इफिसियों 4:11-12)। पौलुस प्रेरित में होकर कलीसिया की देखभाल करने वालों को वचन की सही शिक्षा देने (2 तिमुथियुस 3:16-18) का दायित्व सौंपा गया, तथा उन्हें इस बात का ध्यान रखने को कहा गया कि वे भविष्य के लिए वचन की सही शिक्षा देने वालों को भी तैयार करें (2 तिमुथियुस 2:1-2)। और तब से लेकर आज तक यह सिलसिला इसी प्रकार चलता चला आ रहा है - प्रभु के समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी सेवक, जिन्हें प्रभु ने वचन की इस सेवकाई के लिए नियुक्त किया है, इसका आत्मिक वरदान दिया है (रोमियों 12:7), वे प्रार्थना और वचन के अध्ययन में प्रभु के साथ समय बिताते हैं, प्रभु से सीखते हैं, और फिर उन शिक्षाओं को प्रभु के लोगों तक पहुँचा देते हैं, तथा भावी पीढ़ी में इसी सेवकाई के लिए प्रभु और लोगों को उन से सीखने तथा औरों को सिखाने के लिए उनमें जोड़ता चला जाता है।
ध्यान कीजिए, प्रभु ने कभी भी, कहीं भी, अपने शिष्यों से यह नहीं कहा कि भले बनो, भलाई करो, भलाई की बातें सिखाओ, और परमेश्वर तुम्हारे साथ रहेगा। प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों से सुसमाचार प्रचार करने के लिए कहा, उसकी बातें संसार के लोगों को सिखाने के लिए कहा (प्रेरितों 1:8)। लोगों को परमेश्वर और उसके वचन से भटकाने और उन्हें उनके पापों में फँसाए रखने के लिए शैतान ने ही यह प्रभु के वचन और प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में “लौलीन रहने” के स्थान पर “भले बनो, भला करो” का ‘मंत्र’ लोगों में डाला है। भले बनना और भला करना अच्छा है, किन्तु इसे परमेश्वर के वचन और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता के स्थान पर रखना अच्छा नहीं, घातक है। सीधी सी आधारभूत बात है कि जो प्रभु परमेश्वर के वचन के आज्ञाकारी रहेंगे, वे स्वतः ही भले भी हो जाएंगे, और भलाई भी करेंगे। किन्तु भले बनने और भलाई करने से कोई प्रभु के वचन को नहीं सीख अथवा सिखा सकता है; शैतान प्राथमिकताओं की अदला-बदली करने के द्वारा लोगों को बहका और भरमा देता है, परमेश्वर और उसके वचन से दूर ले जाता है। ध्यान कीजिए, संसार का पहला पाप था परमेश्वर के वचन, उसके द्वारा दिए गए निर्देश की अनाज्ञाकारिता करना; और हव्वा से यह पाप करवाने के लिए शैतान ने उसके मन में परमेश्वर के वचन, उसके निर्देशों की सार्वभौमिकता और भलाई के प्रति संदेह उत्पन्न किया। आज भी शैतान इसी कुटिलता का ऐसे ही प्रयोग करता है - परमेश्वर के वचन और आज्ञाकारिता से ध्यान भटका कर, उनके प्रति संदेह उत्पन्न कर के, अपनी बातों में फँसा लेता है, पाप में गिरा देता है।
कनान देश में प्रवेश करने से ठीक पहले परमेश्वर ने यहोशू से कहा, “इतना हो कि तू हियाव बान्धकर और बहुत दृढ़ हो कर जो व्यवस्था मेरे दास मूसा ने तुझे दी है उन सब के अनुसार करने में चौकसी करना; और उस से न तो दाहिने मुड़ना और न बांए, तब जहां जहां तू जाएगा वहां वहां तेरा काम सफल होगा। व्यवस्था की यह पुस्तक तेरे चित्त से कभी न उतरने पाए, इसी में दिन रात ध्यान दिए रहना, इसलिये कि जो कुछ उस में लिखा है उसके अनुसार करने की तू चौकसी करे; क्योंकि ऐसा ही करने से तेरे सब काम सफल होंगे, और तू प्रभावशाली होगा। क्या मैं ने तुझे आज्ञा नहीं दी? हियाव बान्धकर दृढ़ हो जा; भय न खा, और तेरा मन कच्चा न हो; क्योंकि जहां जहां तू जाएगा वहां वहां तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तेरे संग रहेगा” (यहोशू 1:7-9)। और कनान देश में इस्राएलियों को बसाने के बाद यहोशू ने अंत में आकर लोगों से कहा, “इसलिये अब यहोवा का भय मानकर उसकी सेवा खराई और सच्चाई से करो; और जिन देवताओं की सेवा तुम्हारे पुरखा महानद के उस पार और मिस्र में करते थे, उन्हें दूर कर के यहोवा की सेवा करो। और यदि यहोवा की सेवा करनी तुम्हें बुरी लगे, तो आज चुन लो कि तुम किस की सेवा करोगे, चाहे उन देवताओं की जिनकी सेवा तुम्हारे पुरखा महानद के उस पार करते थे, और चाहे एमोरियों के देवताओं की सेवा करो जिनके देश में तुम रहते हो; परन्तु मैं तो अपने घराने समेत यहोवा की सेवा नित करूंगा” (यहोशू 24:14-15)।
यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं तो ध्यान रखिए कि आत्मिक ‘कनान देश’ - प्रभु की आशीषों, सुरक्षा, और संगति में प्रवेश करने वाले प्रत्येक ‘इस्राएली’ अर्थात प्रभु के जन के लिए इसी प्रकार से प्रभु के वचन में स्थिर और दृढ़ बने रहना अनिवार्य है। ऐसा करने से, जैसा यहोवा ने यहोशू को प्रतिज्ञा दी, वैसे ही मसीही विश्वासी के लिए भी, “तब जहां जहां तू जाएगा वहां वहां तेरा काम सफल होगा”; “ऐसा ही करने से तेरे सब काम सफल होंगे, और तू प्रभावशाली होगा”; “जहां जहां तू जाएगा वहां वहां तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तेरे संग रहेगा”। प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने कहा है कि उसके वचन से व्यक्ति का प्रेम और आज्ञाकारिता ही व्यक्ति के प्रभु से प्रेम का माप है, वास्तविक सूचक है (यूहन्ना 14:21, 23)। प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए इस माप-दण्ड के आधार पर आज आप वचन की शिक्षा के संदर्भ में कहाँ खड़े हैं? अभी समय और अवसर है, जो आवश्यक हैं, अपने जीवन में वे सुधार कर लीजिए, जिससे कल की किसी बड़ी हानि की संभावना से बच सकें।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The First Pillar - Learning God’s Word from Lord’s Disciples
In the past few articles, we have been seeing that in the people joined by the Lord to His Church, the true Christian Believers, seven things also get joined to their lives and become evident in them. These seven things are given in Acts 2:38-42; and their presence has been there in the lives of every Christian Believer since the very inception of the Church. Even today, an honest presence of these seven things shows that he is a person of God, and has been joined by the Lord to the Church. We have already seen the first three of these seven things in the previous articles. The remaining four things, in which the members of the first Church “continued steadfastly,” are given in Acts 2:42. These four things together function as the four pillars that make the Christian life and the Church firm and stable, established and growing in the Lord. From today, we will start looking at each of these four things one-by-one.
The first thing given in Acts 2:42 is “the apostles' doctrine.” At the time when the event of Acts 2 occurred, and the first Church was established, the Word of God that was then available with the people is what we have as the “Old Testament” in our Bibles; and that too was under the control of the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Scribes. These religious leaders used to misinterpret and manipulate God’s Word to suit their convenience, and use it for selfish gains (Matthew 15:1-9). They had spread many wrong interpretations of God’s Word amongst the people; that is why in the Lord Jesus’s ‘Sermon on the Mount’ (Matthew 5 to 7) we very often find the Lord saying phrases like “you have heard”, “it was said to you”, etc., and then after that He says something like “but I tell you” - in other words, the Lord Jesus first told the people the misinterpretation that had been taught to them, and then the correct interpretation of God’s Word. These religious leaders of the Jews of that time were against the Lord Jesus, and used to oppose His teachings and the preaching and propagation of the gospel of forgiveness of sins and salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus. Therefore, because of this antagonism of the religious leaders to the teachings of the Lord Jesus and their known tendency to misinterpret and misuse of God’s Word for selfish benefits, it was not possible that they could be trusted and used to give the factual teachings of the Lord to the common people, most of whom were uneducated or poorly educated, and hardly knew anything about the Word of God, other than what these religious leaders taught them. For this reason, the Lord gave this responsibility to His Apostles, His disciples, at the time of His ascension to heaven (Matthew 28:18-20). The Lord made these Apostles and disciples, the stewards of His teachings, and gave them the responsibility of teaching the people. As the Assemblies and Churches started to increase, Satan too tried to hinder the true teachings of the Lord from reaching the people (Acts 6:1-7) by distracting these Lord appointed teachers from their responsibilities. But those Apostles did not forego their responsibility (6:4); consequently, the Word continued to spread, the disciples increased in numbers, and a large group of even the Jewish Priests joined the disciples (6:7).
When the Word started to spread widely, the number of the disciples increased, then the Lord appointed others also, to teach God’s Word to the people (1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11-12). Through the Apostle Paul, the caretakers of the Church were entrusted to provide the correct teachings of God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16-18), and they were also instructed to prepare others who would similarly teach the Word of God correctly, and prepare others also to do the same (2 Timothy 2:1-2). Since then, this process is continuing in the same manner - the surrendered and committed disciples of the Lord, whom the Lord has given this Spiritual gift, and appointed for this purpose (Romans 12:7), they spend time in prayer and studying God’s Word, first learn from the Lord, and then pass on what the Lord teaches them to others. The Lord continues to add other similarly gifted disciples in each generation, to the Church.
Take note, the Lord never ever told the disciples to be good, do good, teach about doing good things, and the Lord God will be with you. The Lord asked His disciples to preach and propagate the gospel, to teach the things of the gospel to the world and He would be with them always (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8). To mislead people away from the truths of God’s Word, and keep them entangled in their sins, Satan has supplanted the Lord’s teaching of “continued steadfastly” with the notion of “do good, be good, teach being good.” There is nothing wrong in being good, doing good, and asking others to do the same; but to allow this to replace God’s Word, its teachings and obedience to God’s Word is not good, rather is destructive and fatal. The simple, straightforward, basic fact is that those who will be obedient to the Lord God and His Word, will also automatically become good, and do good to others; but by being good and doing good none has ever been able to learn or teach God’s Word. Satan just ‘puts the cart before the horse’ and misleads people away from the Lord and His Word. Remember, the first sin committed in the world was disobeying God’s Word; and to entice Eve into committing this sin, Satan made her doubt God, His Word, His sovereign authority, and God’s desire to give them the best. Even today, Satan still uses the same devious ploy - distracts people away from God’s Word and its obedience, creates doubts in their minds about them, entangles the gullible in his smooth talk, and makes them fall into sin.
Just before the Israelites were to enter Canaan, God said to Joshua, “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go"” (Joshua 1:7-9). After the Israelites had been settled in Canaan, Joshua said to the Israelites “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:14-15).
If you are a Christian Believer, then take note that to enter the Spiritual “Canaan” i.e., the blessings, fellowship, and security of the Lord God, every “Israelite”, i.e., the Christian Believer, the member of the Lord’s Church, has to similarly stay firm and grounded in the Word of God. When you do this, then as Joshua promised the Israelites, similarly for the Christian Believers too “then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The Lord Jesus Christ has said that the true measure of a person’s love for the Lord God is his love for God’s Word (John 14:21, 23). Evaluate and measure yourself on the basis of this yard-stick given by the Lord, and see where you stand. This is the time and opportunity that God has given you to correct everything that needs to be set right, so that you will not fall into a terrible and irreversible loss later.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
