परमेश्वर की क्षमा और न्याय – 19
प्रभु की मृत्यु और उसके निहितार्थ – 1
इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई आरम्भिक बातों में से छठी बात, “अन्तिम न्याय” के हमारे इस अध्ययन में, पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि प्रथम पाप के साथ तीन और बातें मानवजाति में आ गईं – पहली, मृत्यु, दोनों आत्मिक तथा शारीरिक; दूसरी, मनुष्य के लिए जीवन भर दुःख और परेशानी उठाना और परिश्रम करना; और तीसरी, उनके लिए जो परमेश्वर की ओर मुड़ने और उसे जीवन समर्पित करने का निर्णय लेते हैं, परमेश्वर के साथ उनके बहाल किए जाने और अनन्तकालीन प्रतिफल प्राप्त करने की प्रतिज्ञा। अभी तक हमने मसीही विश्वासियों के जीवनों में दुःख, परेशानी और परिश्रम की भूमिका के बारे में; तथा उनके मसीही जीवन और व्यवहार, तथा मन में रखी गई बातों आदि के आँकलन के आधार पर उन्हें दिए जाने वाले स्वर्गीय प्रतिफलों के बारे में देखा है। इसी सन्दर्भ में हमने पहले के लेखों में यह भी देखा है कि यह आँकलन करना क्यों आवश्यक है; तथा पिछले लेख में देखा है कि परमेश्वर क्यों पापों को भुला देता है, यद्यपि अनन्तकालीन स्वर्गीय प्रतिफल देने के आँकलन को करने के लिए, उन क्षमा किये गए पापों को भी, स्वर्ग में रखे गए उनके लेखों के द्वारा प्रकट किया जाएगा। हमने यह भी देखा है कि पाप के इन तीनों प्रभावों को साधना, उनके प्रभावों का बंधन करने के लिए परमेश्वर ने जो कुछ भी किया है, वह सब वास्तव में विश्वासियों की भलाई के लिए ही है, और अपने बच्चों के प्रति परमेश्वर के प्रेम और देखभाल का सूचक है। हमने थोड़े समय पहले के लेखों में, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से, पाप के पहले प्रभाव, आत्मिक और शारीरिक मृत्यु के अर्थ के बारे में देखा था। आज हम कलवरी के क्रूस पर प्रभु यीशु की मृत्यु के अभिप्रायों को, और पाप के तीनों प्रभावों से उसके सम्बन्ध को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।
पाप के पहले प्रभाव, मृत्यु, पर विचार करते समय, पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि मृत्यु का अर्थ है मानवीय रीति से कभी पलटे न जा सकने वाला और स्थाई रीति से अलग हो जाना। आत्मिक दृष्टिकोण से यह मानवीय रीति से कभी पलटे न जा सकने वाला और स्थाई रीति से परमेश्वर से अलग हो जाना है; और शारीरिक रीति से यह मानवीय रीति से कभी पलटे न जा सकने वाला और स्थाई रीति से पृथ्वी की अन्य बातों, जैसे परिवार, मित्र, सँसार के लोगों और वस्तुओं आदि से अलग हो जाना है। पहले के लेखों में हमने देखा है कि किस प्रकार से पाप के शेष दोनों प्रभाव, अर्थात दुःख उठाना, परेशानियाँ, और परिश्रम परमेश्वर की सन्तानों, अर्थात वास्तव में नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही-विश्वासियों से भी सम्बन्धित हैं, और उन पर भी लागू होते हैं। लेकिन प्रश्न उठता है कि यदि पाप के कारण मनुष्य कभी पलटे न जा सकने वाले और स्थाई रीति से, अपने आत्मिक तथा शारीरिक दोनों जीवनों में, परमेश्वर से अलग हो गया है, जैसा कि हमने देखा है कि पहले पाप के कारण अदन की वाटिका में हुआ है, तो फिर वह कैसे शारीरिक दुःख उठाने के लाभों को, और स्वर्ग में अपने प्रतिफलों को प्राप्त करने पाएगा? ऐसा हो पाने के लिए, पाप के इस पहले प्रभाव, मृत्यु – आत्मिक और शारीरिक, का पलटा जाना अनिवार्य है। यदि मनुष्य पर से मृत्यु के बन्धन तोड़ दिए जाते हैं, केवल तब ही बाकी प्रभावों को साधा जा सकता है।
बाइबल हमें बताती है कि प्रभु यीशु की मृत्यु और पुनरुत्थान के द्वारा, मनुष्यों पर से मृत्यु के बन्धन तोड़ दिए गए, क्योंकि प्रभु ने समस्त मानवजाति के सभी पापों को अपने ऊपर लेकर, सभी के लिए मृत्यु को सह लिया। इन बातों की पुष्टि के लिए बाइबल के कुछ पदों को देखते हैं:
· रोमियों 5:12 “इसलिये जैसा एक मनुष्य के द्वारा पाप जगत में आया, और पाप के द्वारा मृत्यु आई, और इस रीति से मृत्यु सब मनुष्यों में फैल गई, इसलिये कि सब ने पाप किया।” एक मनुष्य के द्वारा किये गए एक पाप के कारण मृत्यु आई, और उस से सभी में फ़ैल गई।
· रोमियों 5:17-19 “क्योंकि जब एक मनुष्य के अपराध के कारण मृत्यु ने उस एक ही के द्वारा राज्य किया, तो जो लोग अनुग्रह और धर्म रूपी वरदान बहुतायत से पाते हैं वे एक मनुष्य के, अर्थात् यीशु मसीह के द्वारा अवश्य ही अनन्त जीवन में राज्य करेंगे। इसलिये जैसा एक अपराध सब मनुष्यों के लिये दण्ड की आज्ञा का कारण हुआ, वैसे ही एक धर्म का काम भी सब मनुष्यों के लिये जीवन के निमित्त धर्मी ठहराए जाने का कारण हुआ। क्योंकि जैसा एक मनुष्य के आज्ञा न मानने से बहुत लोग पापी ठहरे, वैसे ही एक मनुष्य के आज्ञा मानने से बहुत लोग धर्मी ठहरेंगे।” जिस तरह से एक मनुष्य का एक पाप, उस की समानता वाले सभी मनुष्यों के लिए मृत्यु लाया, उसी तरह से प्रभु यीशु की आज्ञाकारिता और धार्मिकता के कारण, जो भी उसमें विश्वास लाने के द्वारा उसकी समानता में आ जाते हैं, वे परमेश्वर से अनन्त जीवन पाते हैं।
· रोमियों 6:23 “क्योंकि पाप की मजदूरी तो मृत्यु है, परन्तु परमेश्वर का वरदान हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह में अनन्त जीवन है।” मृत्यु, पाप का निश्चित परिणाम है। लेकिन परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह के द्वारा, मसीह यीशु में, मृत्यु रद्द हो जाती है, और परमेश्वर द्वारा, एक वरदान के समान, अनन्त जीवन प्रदान किया जाता है। इस पद में ध्यान देने योग्य दो महत्वपूर्ण बातें हैं – पहली, यहाँ “पाप” एक-वचन में है, अर्थात मात्र एक पाप का भी वही प्रभाव है जो अनेकों पापों का होगा – और यही अदन की वाटिका में हुआ; और दूसरी, मसीह यीशु में विश्वास से अनन्त जीवन दिया जाना, परमेश्वर का वरदान है, अर्थात यह किसी के भी द्वारा, किसी भी रीति से कमाया नहीं जा सकता है, केवल उपहार के रूप में स्वीकार किया और परमेश्वर से लिया जा सकता है।
· 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15 “और वह इस निमित्त सब के लिये मरा, कि जो जीवित हैं, वे आगे को अपने लिये न जीएं परन्तु उसके लिये जो उन के लिये मरा और फिर जी उठा” तथा इब्रानियों 2:9 “पर हम यीशु को जो स्वर्गदूतों से कुछ ही कम किया गया था, मृत्यु का दुख उठाने के कारण महिमा और आदर का मुकुट पहने हुए देखते हैं? ताकि परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से हर एक मनुष्य के लिये मृत्यु का स्वाद चखे।” प्रभु यीशु ने मृत्यु को सभी के लिए सहा, इसीलिए वह उसके लाभ भी सभी को देना चाहता है, यदि लोग लेने के लिए तैयार हों, तो।
· रोमियों 6:5-8 “क्योंकि यदि हम उस की मृत्यु की समानता में उसके साथ जुट गए हैं, तो निश्चय उसके जी उठने की समानता में भी जुट जाएंगे। क्योंकि हम जानते हैं कि हमारा पुराना मनुष्यत्व उसके साथ क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया, ताकि पाप का शरीर व्यर्थ हो जाए, ताकि हम आगे को पाप के दासत्व में न रहें। क्योंकि जो मर गया, वह पाप से छूटकर धर्मी ठहरा। सो यदि हम मसीह के साथ मर गए, तो हमारा विश्वास यह है, कि उसके साथ जीएंगे भी।” जो प्रभु यीशु के साथ उसकी मृत्यु में जुड़ गए हैं, वे उसके पुनरुत्थान में भी उसके साथ जोड़े जाएँगे, और उसके साथ जीएँगे।
· इब्रानियों 2:14-15 “इसलिये जब कि लड़के मांस और लहू के भागी हैं, तो वह आप भी उन के समान उन का सहभागी हो गया; ताकि मृत्यु के द्वारा उसे जिसे मृत्यु पर शक्ति मिली थी, अर्थात् शैतान को निकम्मा कर दे। और जितने मृत्यु के भय के मारे जीवन भर दासत्व में फंसे थे, उन्हें छुड़ा ले।” सभी के लिए मृत्यु सहने के द्वारा, प्रभु यीशु ने मृत्यु और शैतान के बन्धनों को सभी के लिए, जो भी उस में विश्वास करे, उसे स्वीकार करे, तोड़ दिया है।
ये पद दिखाते हैं कि प्रभु यीशु ने समस्त मानवजाति के लिए शारीरिक मृत्यु को सह लिया, और जो उसमें विश्वास लाते हैं, उसके इस बलिदान को स्वीकार करते हैं, उनके लिए उसके इस बलिदान के निहितार्थों को भी दिखाते हैं। लेकिन आत्मिक मृत्यु, अर्थात परमेश्वर से आत्मिक रीति से अलग हो जाने का क्या? उसको कैसे साधा गया, उसे कैसे पलटा गया? हम इसे तथा कुछ अन्य सम्बन्धित बातों को अगले लेख में देखेंगे, और फिर उसके बाद, इन सभी बातों को परमेश्वर के वचन के एक महत्वपूर्ण पात्र के जीवन के उदाहरण से चित्रित करेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

God’s Forgiveness and Justice – 19
Lord’s Death and its Implications - 1
In this study on “Eternal Judgement,” the sixth elementary principle given in Hebrews 6:1-2, in the previous articles we have seen that along with the first sin, came three things – first, death, spiritual as well as physical; second, life-long suffering, problems, and toil for mankind; and third, a promise of restoration and eternal rewards for those who turn back to God and submit themselves to Him. So far, we have studied and seen about the role of sufferings, problems, and toil in the life of Christian Believers; and have also seen about the judgment for their heavenly rewards of the life, deeds, thoughts etc. of the Christian Believers. Regarding the heavenly rewards, we have seen that for this evaluation even the sins forgiven and forgotten by God will also be brought out and taken into account. In this context, in the previous articles we have seen why this needs to be done; and in the last article we have seen why God forgets the forgiven sins, even though eventually they will all be brought up through the records kept in heaven, for evaluation and giving of the eternal rewards. We have also seen, how everything that God has done to manage the three effects of the first sin, is actually for the Believer’s benefit, and is an indicator of His love and care for His children. Earlier, we had seen, on the basis of God’s Word the Bible, what the first effect of sin, death, in its spiritual as well as physical aspects, means. Today, we will begin considering the implication of the Lord Jesus’s death on the Cross of Calvary, and how it relates to the three effects of sin.
When considering about the first effect of sin, i.e., death, in the earlier articles, we have seen that essentially death denotes a humanly irreversible and permanent separation. In spiritual terms, it means a humanly irreversible and permanent separation from God; and in physical terms, death means a humanly irreversible and permanent separation from other physical beings, i.e., from family, friends, people, and things of the world. In our preceding articles we have seen how the other two effects of sin, i.e., sufferings, problems and toil, and the eternal heavenly rewards, also relate to and also apply to the children of God, i.e., to the truly Born-Again Christian Believers too. But the question arises, if because of sin mankind has been irreversibly separated from God, both spiritually and physically, as we see happened with the first sin in the Garden of Eden, then, how can they ever reach the stage of benefitting through sufferings in their physical bodies and of reaching heaven to receive eternal rewards in their heavenly life? For this to happen, this first effect of sin, death – spiritual and physical, has to be reversed. Only once the hold of death on mankind has been broken, can the other effects be managed.
The Bible tells us that the hold of death upon mankind was broken by the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, because He took upon Himself all the sins of all of mankind, and suffered death for them, for everyone. Let us look at some relevant Bible verses to affirm this.
· Romans 5:12 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” Death came because of one sin committed by one man, and from him spread to all men.
· Romans 6:17-19 “For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous.” Just as one sin by one man, brought death upon all who were in his likeness; similarly, because of the obedience and righteousness of the Lord Jesus brings eternal life from God to all those who come into His likeness, through faith in Him.
· Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Sin inevitably results in death. But through the grace of God, in Christ Jesus death is cancelled, and eternal life is granted as a gift by God. Note two important things in this verse – firstly, “sin” is singular, i.e., even one sin has the same effect as many sins – just what happened in the Garden of Eden; and second, the granting of eternal life in Christ Jesus, is a “gift of God;” i.e., it is not earned in any manner by anyone, but is accepted and received as a gift from God.
· 2 Corinthians 5:15 “He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again” and Hebrews 2:9 “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.” The Lord Jesus has suffered death for everyone, that is why He wants to give the benefits to everyone, provided people are willing to accept them.
· Romans 6:5-8 “For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him.” Those who have been united with the Lord Jesus in His death, will also be united with Him in resurrection and will live with Him.
· Hebrews 2:14-15 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” By suffering death for everyone, the Lord Jesus has destroyed the hold of death and the devil on all who believe in Him and accept Him.
These verses show us the Lord’s suffering of physical death for all of mankind, and the implications of that death for those who believe in Him and His sacrifice. But what about the spiritual death, the spiritual separation of man from God? How was that managed? We will consider it along with some other things in the next article, and then see all of this illustrated through the life of an important character in God’s Word.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
