निर्गमन 12:8-10 (2) - प्रभु की मेज़ - वचन का आदर, अध्ययन, और पालन करने वालों के लिए (2)

 

        पिछले लेख में हमने निर्गमन 12:8-10 के प्रतीकों पर विचार करते हुए, देखा था कि किस प्रकार से प्रभु की देह को खाना, तथा उसके लहू को पीना, उनके द्वारा जो प्रभु के बलिदान के लहू के अधीन आ गए हैं, परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करके उसे आत्मसात कर लेने को दिखाता है। हमने यह भी देखा था कि परमेश्वर के वचन का यह अध्ययन निरन्तर किया जाना है, हर आयु के जन के द्वारा किया जाना है, और परिवार के रूप में किया जाना है। आज हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे, और इन प्रतीकों से कुछ और बातें सीखेंगे।

        प्रभु की देह को “खाने” के चिह्न और प्रतीक को समझ लेने के बाद, हम वापस निर्गमन 12:8 को लौटते हैं - बलि किए हुए मेमने के माँस को समस्त परिवार ने साथ ही खाना था, अखमीरी रोटी तथा कड़वे साग-पात के साथ। हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि बलि किया हुआ फसह का मेमना, परमेश्वर के मेमने, प्रभु यीशु के समस्त मानव जाति के छुटकारे के लिए क्रूस पर दिए गए बलिदान को दिखाता है। “खाने” की सांकेतिक भाषा का उपयोग उस मेमने के खाए जाने के लिए उपयोग करने के द्वारा हम समझ सकते हैं कि प्रभु भोज के संदर्भ में, उसका अभिप्राय होता है कि उस “जीवते वचन को, जो देहधारी हुआ और हमारे मध्य में डेरा किया” का अध्ययन करना, अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करना, उसे आत्मसात करना, और उसे हमारे जीवनों को आत्मिक जीवन में परिवर्तित कर लेने देना।

        इसके साथ कुछ अन्य चिह्न और प्रतीक भी यहाँ निर्गमन 12:8 में दिए गए हैं। आयत 7 और 8 में हम देखते हैं कि पहले मेमने को बलि करना था, फिर उसके लहू को घर के चौखटों तथा अलंगों पर लगाना था। अर्थात, पहले उस घराने को प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता और अधीनता में आना था, फिर बलि किए हुए मेमने को घर के अन्दर खाना था, जब तक कि छुटकारे के लिए कूच करने की पुकार न दी जाए। न केवल परिवार के मुख्या को, परंतु सारे परिवार को “मेमने को खाना” था। उन्हें यह बाहर के अंधकार तथा मौत के दूत के द्वारा काम किए जाने से विचलित और प्रभावित हुए बिना करना था। अर्थात, उन्हें बाहर लगाए गए लहू, और उसके अधीन हो जाने के कारण बचाए जाने पर भरोसा रखना था। फसह का पर्व उन्हें जीवन भर सालाना पर्व के रूप में मनाना था (निर्गमन 12:24); अर्थात जब तक वे जीवित रहें, उन्हें मेमने को “खाते” रहना, अर्थात अध्ययन करते रहना था। यह सारे परिवार को साथ मिलकर करना था, बच्चे, जवान, वृद्ध, सभी को  करना था; परमेश्वर का वचन सभी को पढ़ना और सीखना है, हर आयु में, इससे किसी को छूट नहीं है।

        “खाने” के विषय में इस चिह्न और प्रतीक से हम अपने संदर्भ, प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने के बारे में क्या सीख सकते हैं? जिस प्रकार से बलि किए गए मेमने को सारे घराने को खाना था, उसी रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग उन्हें ही लेना चाहिए जो अपने परिवार के साथ परमेश्वर के वचन का आदर करते हैं, ध्यान देकर और प्रयास के साथ उसका अध्ययन करते हैं; अर्थात, उनके अपने और पारिवारिक जीवन में परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करना एक आदरणीय प्राथमिकता होनी चाहिए, न कि मात्र औपचारिकता को पूरा करने के लिए वचन का कोई भी खण्ड पढ़ लेना, और समझना कि जिसकी आवश्यकता थी, उसे पूरा कर लिया गया है। इसका यह भी अर्थ है कि संसार की मांगो और परमेश्वर के प्रति उत्तरदायित्व और उसे आदर देने के मध्य में एक का चुनाव करना होगा, और सही निर्णय का पालन करना होगा। इस बाइबल अध्ययन को बाहर संसार में पाप और मृत्यु की अंधकार की शक्तियों के हो रहे काम से बिना विचलित हुए निरंतर करते रहना है। वरन यह बाइबल अध्ययन में लौलीन रहने का और भी अधिक प्रबल कारण होना चाहिए, जिससे शैतान के द्वारा मसीही विश्वासियों पर किए गए हमलों का सामना कर सकें  और स्थिर खड़े रह सकें (प्रकाशितवाक्य 3:10)। यह व्यक्ति द्वारा वास्तविक और प्रभावी रीति से तभी किया जा सकता है जब व्यक्ति और उसका घराना पहले प्रभु के लहू अर्थात प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा बचाए जाने की सामर्थ्य की अधीनता में आ गया हो। क्योंकि व्यक्ति जैसे ही उद्धार पाता है, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा उसमें आकर निवास करने लगता है (इफिसियों 1:13-14), और पवित्र आत्मा के कार्यों में से एक है मसीही विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर के वचन को सिखाना (यूहन्ना 14:26)। क्योंकि यह भाग लेना हर साल, जीवन भर करते रहना है, इसलिए मसीही विश्वासी को भी निरंतर वचन का अध्ययन करते रहना चाहिए, और अपनी आत्मिक उन्नति की बढ़ोतरी का आँकलन करते रहना चाहिए - जैसा कि हम आगे के लेखों में देखेंगे।

         इसलिए हम यह निष्कर्ष निकाल सकते हैं कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना उनके लिए है जो न केवल प्रभु के उद्धार देने वाले लहू की अधीनता में आ गए हैं, किन्तु साथ ही वचन के अध्ययन करने और उसकी शिक्षाओं और निर्देशों को अपने जीवन में प्राथमिक स्थान देते हैं। जिनके पास परमेश्वर के वचन के अध्ययन के लिए, उसके निर्देशों का पालन करने के लिए, उसे अपने जीवन में लागू करने के लिए समय और रुचि नहीं है, उनके लिए धार्मिक रीति के समान इस मेज़ में भाग लेना व्यर्थ है, निष्फल है, और अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के कारण कोई लाभ मिलने के स्थान पर वे ताड़ना के भागी होंगे (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:28-31), जैसा कि हम बाद के लेखों में देखेंगे।

        ये सभी बातें स्पष्ट दिखाती हैं कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना उनके लिए नहीं है जो इसे एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता के समान लेते हैं, किन्तु उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार है। अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन 12:8-10 में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु की मेज़ में उसी प्रकार से भाग ले रहे हैं जैसे परमेश्वर ने निर्देश दिये हैं, प्रभु के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, बड़ी गंभीरता से मेज़ के महत्व पर मनन करते हुए; या फिर आप किसी डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा अथवा किसी के  मनमाने विचारों के अनुसार भाग ले रहे हैं? अपने आप को जांच कर देखें कि क्या आप प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तैयार हैं कि नहीं? आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:8-10 (2) - The Lord’s Table - For Those Who Honor, Study, and Obey God’s Word (2)

 

       In the last article, considering the symbolisms of Exodus 12:8-10, we had seen how the eating of the Lord's body and drinking of His blood implies studying and imbibing His Word, by all who have come under His sacrificial blood. We also saw that this studying of God's Word was to be done continually, irrespective of age, and must be done as a family. Today we will carry on, and learn some more from these symbolisms.

       Having seen and understood the symbolism of “eating” the Lord’s body, let us return back to Exodus 12:8 - the flesh of the sacrificed lamb had to be eaten by the whole family, with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. We have seen earlier that the Passover sacrificial lamb symbolized the Lamb of God sacrificed on the cross for the deliverance of mankind. Applying the symbolism of “eating” to the eating of the lamb, we can understand, that in context of the Holy Communion it means to study and learn about the “Living Word that became flesh and dwelt amongst us”, i.e., study the Word of God, imbibe it, and let it bring godly changes in our lives.

        There are some other important symbolisms associated with this, given in Exodus 12:8. Through verses 7 and 8 we see that first the lamb had to be sacrificed, and then the blood of the sacrificed lamb had to be applied to the door posts and lintel of the house. In other words, first the household had to come under the blood, and then this household that was under the saving cover of the blood, had to “eat” the lamb, inside the house, till the call to move out and be delivered from the bondage was sounded. Not just the elder of the family, but the whole household had to “eat the lamb.” They were to do it unperturbed by the night, and the Angel of death moving outside; i.e., had to do it trusting the saving power of the blood they had applied outside, and come under. The Passover was meant to be repeated as an annual event (Exodus 12:24), and they had to keep “eating” the lamb as long as they lived, i.e., had to keep studying God's Word. The whole family, children, young, and old, had to keep doing it together; God's Word has to be studied and learnt by all, across all ages, nor one is exempt.

        What can we learn and derive for our context of participating in the Holy Communion from this symbolism about eating? As the sacrificed lamb was to be eaten by the whole household, those partaking of the Lord’s Table should be the ones that honor and diligently, laboriously study God’s Word, they and their families; i.e., the study of God’s Word has to be given a primary and exalted honorable place in their family life, not just a perfunctory reading of a random passage and believing that they have done what was necessary. This also means making a choice between the demands of the world and honoring God, and doing accordingly. This Bible study has to be done unperturbed by the darkness of sin and death outside in the world; rather this should all the more be a reason to study and learn God’s Word, to be able to withstand Satan’s attacking and shaking up of the Believers (Revelation 3:10). This can only be done actually and effectively, if the person, the household has first come under the blood, i.e., the saving power of the Lord Jesus. Because, the moment a person is saved, is Born-Again, the Spirit of God comes to reside in him (Ephesians 1:13-14) and one of the functions of the Holy Spirit is to teach God’s Word to the Christian Believers (John 14:26). Since this was to be done year by year, lifelong, the Christian Believer too has to remain studying God’s Word continually, and keep assessing his spiritual growth - as we will see in later articles.

        Therefore, we can infer that participating in the Holy Communion is for those who not only have come under the saving blood of the Lord, but also give Bible study and obedience to its instructions and teachings a primary place in their lives. Those who have no place or time for God’s Word and studying it, obeying it, applying it in their lives, for them ritually partaking in the Lord’s table is vain, inconsequential and doing it unworthily; and will lead to adverse effects (1 Corinthians 11:28-31) than any benefits.

        All these things show that participating in the Holy Communion is not for those who take it as a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, but is for those who willingly have chosen to live worthy of the Lord, in obedience to His Word, and are willing to pay the price for doing so. In the next article we will carry on from here and see more from these verse, Exodus 12:8-10. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word, are a new creation for the Lord. That you strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church, and have been participating as the Lord has instructed to be done, participating with full allegiance to the Lord, in all seriousness, and pondering over its significance; instead of doing it in any presumptive manner, or simply as a denominational ritual; and are ready and prepared to stand before the Lord and answer for your life. It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.
