The Bible, generally speaking, is believed to be the Scripture of Christians. It is commonly understood and taken as a book come from the western civilization, and is falsely accused of being a book that motivates people into norms, practices and life-style of the western civilization. And this false accusation, is often the basis of vainly opposing the Bible and the Bible believers. But in reality, the Bible is not a book of any particular region, religion or civilization; Nor does it teach the following of any worldly civilization. The fact is that The Bible is the written expression of the infinite, unchanging, unselfish, holy love, of the Creator, Sustainer, and Savior of this entire universe, the Creator God, of the Creator of every person in this world, towards all of mankind.
In the Bible, God has expressed Himself, His qualities, His character, His likes and dislikes, and the wonderful, indescribable love God has for all mankind. The wonderful love that God has shown towards mankind even in their state of sinfulness. The Bible is the only book that tells about God that He loves even sinners, does not want them to perish, but longs for them to turn to Him with repentance from their sins, so that He can forgive them and make them His children for eternity. This is possible because the Lord Jesus Christ took upon Himself all the sins of all of mankind, and endured their punishment for everyone, through His the death on the Cross of Calvary. Now, since the Lord Jesus Christ has suffered the punishment and paid the penalty for all the sins of all human beings, therefore, no man needs to do anything other than accept this sacrificial act of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to receive the forgiveness of his sins from Him.
Only the God of the Bible is the God who, because of his love for mankind, left heaven and came to earth in the form of an ordinary man taking the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, so as to prepare the way for mankind to go to heaven and be with Him. He has prepared and provided a way for every person in the world, which requires nothing other than to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and his work of sacrifice on the Cross, voluntarily submit his life to Him, and accept to follow Him. Everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus receives this love of God solely because of God's grace towards man; not on the basis of any works of man or any of his own 'righteousness'. This love of God is available freely from God to every person in the world. To accept or reject this provision of God is the individual, voluntary decision of each man.
The Bible prepares humans to reside with God in heaven, and not to enrich them with the perishing corrupted, and corrupting things on earth, like property, status, splendor, dominion, or worldly honor. The perspective of the Bible is not of this earth, but of heaven. The Bible teaches over and over again that this time on earth, the human body, and the possessions of the earth are all temporary; they all will perish here. That which is permanent and everlasting is what comes after death – heaven or hell; and everyone will eventually go to one or the other of these two places. In order to go to one of those places, man has to make a personal decision while living here on earth and prepare accordingly. Those who decide to live with the Lord by repenting of their sins, receiving forgiveness of sins from the Lord Jesus, they, starting from the time they made this decision, will start living with the Lord Jesus, and will continue to live with the Lord Jesus in heaven for eternity after their physical death. Those who reject this loving offer of the Lord Jesus, those who do not want to be with the Lord Jesus here on earth, will go to the place where God, the Lord Jesus Christ does not reside - in hell, to spend their eternity; which is according to their personal decision made by them while on earth. It is not God who is sending them to hell; they have decided to stay away from God and be in hell, and God is honoring their decision.
In the Bible, God tells people how to interact with each other, and how to behave toward God in a way acceptable to God. The Bible teaches that man is born with a sin nature, is brought up and grows up with this sin nature, behaves sinfully, and continues to earn the penalties of his sin throughout his life, and eventually dies with sins. It is this sin nature that keeps man away from God, the Lord Jesus, on the earth, as well as after his life on earth is over. His sins accompany him to the hereafter, and take him to hell, a place of eternal torment. But through the faith brought in the Lord Jesus Christ and the repentance of sins, this sin nature, and the punishment of sins, is taken away. It is replaced in him by the nature of the Lord Jesus, and the sinner who has been forgiven of sins, now gradually, bit by bit is transformed into the likeness of the Lord Jesus. He now starts taking on the likeness, behavior, character, qualities etc. of Lord Jesus, and growing in the likeness of Lord Jesus.
According to the teaching of the Bible, this voluntary acceptance of faith and sincere submission to the Lord Jesus does not change anyone's religion; but changes his mind, his tendency to sin, his life of worldliness. It transforms him into a child of God; he no longer is bound by the ideology of any particular worldly region, religion, civilization, or culture; but receives a heavenly attitude and behavior. A follower of the Lord Jesus had once very rightly said about the Bible: “Either sin will keep you away from the Bible; Else, the Bible will keep you away from sin."
Sincerely ask God, pray to Him to open your mind and understanding towards His Word, the Bible; And to lead and guide you in the study of His wonderful, life-changing, eternal life-giving Word, the Bible; clearly showing you the way for the forgiveness of sins, to become a child of God, and a heir to heaven.
