कलीसिया का भण्डारीपन -

व्यावहारिक निहितार्थ – 11 

सभी नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी, उनके उद्धार पाने के साथ ही, परमेश्वर द्वारा उसकी कलीसिया का एक अंग बना दिए जाते हैं और परमेश्वर द्वारा उस की अन्य सन्तानों की सहभागिता में ले आए जाते हैं। परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे उद्धार के साथ ही प्रदान किए गए इस, तथा अन्य सभी विशेषाधिकारों के लिए, प्रत्येक विश्वासी परमेश्वर का भण्डारी भी है, और उसे अपने भण्डारीपन के उचित निर्वाह के लिए उत्तरदायी भी है। परमेश्वर की कलीसिया और उसकी सन्तानों के भण्डारी होने के नाते, विश्वासियों को कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी और परमेश्वर की अन्य सन्तानों की आत्मिक उन्नति की बातों में संलग्न रहने वाला होना चाहिए। इसके लिए, जैसा कि हमने पिछले लेखों में सीखा है, परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई की भूमिका बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। जिन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई सौंपी गई है, उन्हें कलीसिया तथा परमेश्वर की सन्तानों को परमेश्वर के वचन को – गुणवत्ता में तथा माप दोनों में, पर्याप्त मात्रा में, नियमित, और खराई से देना है। हाल ही के लेखों में हमने इस सेवकाई के कुछ पक्षों को देखा है। इससे पिछले लेख में हमने इफिसुस में पौलुस की सेवकाई के सार से देखा था कि, पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, उसने बिना झिझके उन्हें परमेश्वर की सम्पूर्ण मनसा को बताया था। इसीलिए, जब वह इफिसुस से मकिदुनिया गया, तो तीमुथियुस को इफिसुस में ही छोड़ गया कि वह यह सुनिश्चित करे कि जो भी लोग वहाँ पर प्रचार करते और वचन सिखाते हैं, वे पौलुस के द्वारा सिखाई गई बातों के अतिरिक्त और कुछ न सिखाएं। हमने इफिसुस में पौलुस की सेवकाई की मुख्य बातों को भी देखा था, जो आज पवित्र शास्त्र से हमारे अनुसरण करने के लिए, और विशेषकर उनके लिए जो परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई में लगे हैं, एक उपयुक्त रूपरेखा उपलब्ध करवाती है। आज हम वचन की सेवकाई के संदर्भ में बाइबल के कुछ और निर्देशों को देखेंगे; ऐसे कुछ निर्देश जो कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी और विश्वासियों की आत्मिक उन्नति में सहायक हैं।

परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई से संबंधित, कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी और विश्वासियों की उन्नति के लिये हमने कुछ बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बातों को हाल ही के लेखों में 1 तीमुथियुस 1:3-4 से देखा है। इन बातों के अतिरिक्त, एक अन्य महत्वपूर्ण बात भी है, जिसका ध्यान करना चाहिए, जो पौलुस द्वारा तीमुथियुस को लिखी गई इस पत्री में कुछ और आगे मिलती है। पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में तीमुथियुस को निर्देश देते हुए, 1 तीमुथियुस 4:6 में पौलुस उस से कहता है कि जो उसे दिया गया है, अर्थात जो उसने सीखा है, जो निर्देश उसे मिले हैं, उनकी सुधि औरों को भी दिला दे। पिछले दो लेखों में 1 तीमुथियुस 1:3-4 के हमारे अध्ययन में हम देख चुके हैं कि पौलुस तीमुथियुस से ऐसा करने के लिए क्यों कह रहा है। लेकिन यहाँ, 1 तीमुथियुस 4:6 में, हम पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में सत्यनिष्ठा और संपूर्णता में परमेश्वर के खरे वचन का प्रचार करने तथा सिखाने के एक अन्य लाभ को देखते हैं, जो प्रचारक के लिए है।

यहाँ पर लिखा हुआ है, “तो मसीह यीशु का अच्छा सेवक ठहरेगा: और विश्वास और उस अच्छे उपदेश की बातों से, जो तू मानता आया है, तेरा पालन-पोषण होता रहेगा।” दूसरे शब्दों में, पौलुस तीमुथियुस को दिखा रहा है कि जब वह औरों को परमेश्वर के खरे वचन को विश्वासयोग्यता से बताएगा, और इस बात का ध्यान रखेगा कि ‘अच्छे उपदेश की बातों’ का, जिन का वह प्रचार कर रहा और सिखा रहा है, स्वयं भी पालन करता रहेगा, तो इससे उसका भी ‘पालन-पोषण होता रहेगा’, अर्थात, इससे उसकी अपनी आत्मिक उन्नति और बढ़ोतरी भी होगी। इस प्रकार यहाँ पर ‘मसीह यीशु का अच्छा सेवक’ होने, अर्थात सत्यनिष्ठा और सच्चाई से परमेश्वर के खरे वचन की सेवकाई करने की, न कि मनुष्यों के बनाए वचनों की, या मनुष्यों द्वारा गढ़ी गई कहानियों और वंशावलियों की, दोहरी आशीष लिखी गई है। पहली आशीष है इससे कलीसिया और विश्वासियों की बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति होगी; और दूसरी आशीष है कि ऐसा करने वाले प्रचारक और शिक्षक का भी अच्छे उपदेश की उन बातों से जिनको वह बताता और मानता रहता है ‘पालन-पोषण होता रहेगा।’ इससे मिलने वाली शिक्षा यही है कि विश्वासियों को अपनी आत्मिक उन्नति के लिए, सच्चाई और सत्यनिष्ठा के साथ परमेश्वर के खरे वचन को औरों को सिखाते रहना चाहिए।

जब हम पौलुस द्वारा तीमुथियुस को निर्देश देने के लिए लिखी गई इन दोनों पत्रियों को पढ़ते हैं, तो हम देखते हैं कि वह उसकी सेवकाई के लिए तीमुथियुस को कभी भी, कहीं भी, अपनी समझ या बुद्धि का उपयोग करने के लिए न तो कहता है, न प्रोत्साहित करता है। वरन, पौलुस केवल उस से यही कहता, और इसी के लिए प्रोत्साहित करता है कि वह औरों को भी वही बात सिखाए और बताए जो उसने सीखी है, जिस बात के विषय उसे निर्देश दिए गए हैं। तीमुथियुस ने इन बातों को मुख्यतः पौलुस के साथ रहने के द्वारा सीखा था। और हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि पौलुस हमेशा ही केवल वही प्रचार करता, सिखाता, और निर्देश देता था जो उसे प्रभु से मिलता था, जिसे वह पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा से प्राप्त करता था, न कि उसकी अपने ज्ञान, बुद्धि, या समझ की किसी बात के। पौलुस द्वारा तीमुथियुस को दिया गया यह निर्देश, बहुत कुछ उस निर्देश के समान है जो प्रभु यीशु ने अपने स्वर्गारोहण से पहले अपनी महान आज्ञा में अपने शिष्यों को दिया था (मत्ती 28:18-20) – शिष्यों को केवल उसी का प्रचार करना था, वही शिक्षा देनी थे जो प्रभु ने उन्हें सिखाया था, और उन्हें यह पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य के अंतर्गत करना था (प्रेरितों 1:8)। क्योंकि उनका प्रभु के प्रति आज्ञाकारी बने रहना अनिवार्य था, इसलिए, तात्पर्य यही है कि उन्हें अपनी बुद्धि और समझ से गढ़ी गई, रची गई किसी भी बात का पालन, प्रचार, या सिखाना नहीं करना था।

तीमुथियुस को लिखी उसकी दूसरी पत्री में पौलुस उस से यह भी कहता है कि वह सत्य के वचन को ठीक रीति से काम में लाने वाला बने (2 तीमुथियुस 2:14-17)। किसी को भी यह करने की समझ-बूझ केवल पवित्र आत्मा पर निर्भर रहने से ही आ सकती है, क्योंकि पवित्र आत्मा के कार्यों में से एक है कि वह परमेश्वर के वचन को सिखाने और समझाने के लिए विश्वासियों का सहायक है (यूहन्ना 14:26; 16:13; 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:10-14)। मसीहियों से संबंधित यह एक दुखद और समझने में बहुत कठिन कटु तथ्य है कि कलीसियाओं में, मण्डलियों में, विश्वासियों में, एक अनुचित किन्तु बहुत प्रचलित प्रवृत्ति है कि बजाए परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा पर निर्भर होने के, उससे परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने और अपने जीवन में वचन की बातों और निहितार्थों को लागू करने के, विश्वासी अन्य मनुष्यों पर, मनुष्यों के वचनों और लेखों पर, और यहाँ तक कि उनकी मन-गढ़न्त बातों तथा कहानियों पर भी अधिक निर्भर रहते हैं। यह प्रचलित प्रवृत्ति विश्वासियों के जीवन में कई प्रकार से प्रकट होती है, जैसे कि, मनुष्यों का अनुसरण करना, बिना जाँचे-परखे एक अँध-विश्वास में उनके शब्दों, वाक्यांशों, और व्यवहार की नकल करना, और फिर कलीसिया में दल या गुट बना लेना; कलीसिया में और विश्वासियों के मध्य विभाजन उत्पन्न करना और फिर उन्हें बनाए भी रखना; कलीसिया के संचालन और देखभाल के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए और बाइबल में लिखे गए निर्देशों का नहीं वरन मनुष्यों के बनाए हुए नियम, तरीके, और निर्देशों का पालन करना; निर्णय लेने में परमेश्वर से बढ़कर मनुष्यों को स्थान देना; परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाला होने की बजाए मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न रखने वाला होने की प्रवृत्ति रखना; परमेश्वर की बजाए मनुष्यों के भय में रहना और काम करना; आदि। और इससे देर-सवेर विश्वासियों के अपने जीवनों में तथा कलीसिया में और परमेश्वर की सन्तानों में कई प्रकार की समस्याएं उत्पन्न हो जाती हैं।

यदि किसी भी कारण से हम कलीसिया और विश्वासियों के बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति में योगदान नहीं दे पाते हैं, तो कम से कम हमें इतना तो करना चाहिए कि अपने व्यवहार और प्रचार के द्वारा कलीसिया में अनबन और विभाजन करने वाली किसी बात को लेकर न आएँ। यह करने के लिए, हमें बस इतना ही करना पर्याप्त होगा कि किसी मनुष्य का अनुसरण और उसकी बातों की नकल और पालन करना छोड़कर, वास्तव में परमेश्वर का अनुसरण करने लगें, उसके वचन का पालन करने लगें। पौलुस ने पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, प्रभु का अनुसरण और उसके वचन का पालन करने के लिए अपने आप को एक उदाहरण के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया है, और लिखा है कि औरों को भी उसके समान ही प्रभु का वैसे ही पालन करना चाहिए जैसे वह करता है; क्योंकि वह जो प्रचार करता और सिखाता था, वह उसकी अपनी मन-गढ़न्त बातें नहीं थीं, वरन वे बातें थीं जो उसे प्रभु ने विश्वासियों और कलीसियाओं के लिए दी थीं (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:1; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 4:1-2)।

अगले लेख से हम कलीसिया में अगुवों की भूमिका और कलीसिया में अनुशासन लागू करने के बारे में कुछ बातें देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

All Born-Again Christian Believers, at the moment of their salvation, are made a part of God’s Church and are placed by God in fellowship of His other children. For these, and other privileges given by God at salvation, every Believer is a steward of God and is also accountable to Him for fulfilling his stewardship worthily. As stewards of God’s Church and of the fellowship of His children, the Believers are to be involved in the growth of the Church and spiritual progress of God’s other children. For this, as we have learnt in the past few articles, the role of the ministry of God’s Word is of paramount importance. Those entrusted with the ministry of God’s Word are to serve God’s Word to the Church and God’s children regularly, adequately, and properly – both in quality as well quantity. In the recent articles we have seen some aspects of this ministry. In the last article we saw from Paul’s summary of his ministry in Ephesus that he, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, had unhesitatingly declared to them the whole counsel of God. Therefore, when he went from Ephesus to Macedonia, he left Timothy behind to ensure that those who preach and teach there, should not teach anything other than what Paul had taught. We saw the salient features of Paul’s ministry in Ephesus, which provide a scriptural guideline for us today to follow, especially for those engaged in the ministry of God’s Word. Today we will consider some more Biblical instructions in context of the Word ministry; instructions that help the Church to grow and the Believers to progress in their spiritual lives.

We have seen some very important aspects of the ministry of God’s Word for the growth and progress of the Church and the Believers from 1 Timothy 1:3-4 in the recent articles. There is another important instruction that must also be taken note of; it is stated later in Paul's first letter to Timothy. In 1 Timothy 4:6, while giving instructions to Timothy through the Holy Spirit, Paul asks him to instruct others about that which has been given i.e., has been taught or instructed to him. Through our study of 1 Timothy 1:3-4 in the previous two articles, we have already seen and understood why Paul is asking Timothy to do this. But here, in 1 Timothy 4:6, we see another benefit, for the preacher, of sincerely preaching and teaching God’s pure Word in its truth and entirety, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

It is written here that by doing this “you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.” In other words, Paul is pointing out to Timothy that when he faithfully instructs others about God’s pure Word, and he himself also takes care to carefully continue to follow the ‘good doctrine’ that he is preaching and teaching to others, it will contribute to his own spiritual growth and stability. So, here we have a two-fold benefit of being “a good minister of Jesus Christ” i.e., sincerely and honestly ministering God’s Word, instead of being a minister of man’s word, instead of ministering fables and genealogies contrived by man. These two benefits are, firstly it will cause the growth and progress of the Church and the Believers; and secondly, it will cause such a preacher and teacher to himself be “nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine” which he shares and also carefully follows. The lesson is, for the Believer’s own spiritual growth, they should sincerely and honestly teach others the true and unadulterated Word of God.

As one goes through both these letters of instructions written by Paul to Timothy, we see that nowhere does he ask or encourage him to use his own wisdom and understanding about this ministry. Rather, Paul only asks and repeatedly emphasizes upon him to instruct others about what he has already received, has already been instructed about. Timothy had mainly learned these things through his association with Paul. And we have seen earlier that Paul always preached, taught, and instructed nothing out of his own knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, but only what he received from the Lord, what he had through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This instruction of Paul to Timothy is very similar to what the Lord Jesus had instructed His disciples at the time of His ascension, in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) – the disciples had to preach and teach only that which the Lord had taught them, and do so under the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). Since their obedience to the Lord’s instructions was essential, therefore, by implication, they were not to practice, preach, or teach anything that they contrived through their own wisdom and understanding.

In his second letter to Timothy, Paul also asks him to be one who rightly divides God's Word (2 Timothy 2:14-17). For any person this discernment can only come through being dependent upon the Holy Spirit, since, as the Believer’s Helper, one of the functions of the Holy Spirit is to teach and expound God’s Word to them (John 14:26; 16:13; 1 Corinthians 2:10-14). It is a sad and a very difficult to understand bitter fact of Christianity, that in the Churches or Assemblies and amongst Believers, there is an inordinate but prevalent tendency for Believers to rely more upon men, men’s teachings, words, and writings, and often even on men’s fables, than upon the Holy Spirit of God to learn God’s Word and its practical implications and application in life. And, this tendency manifests itself in many ways in the life of Believers, e.g., as following men, as in blind faith copying the words, phrases, and mannerisms of men without cross-checking and examining them, as forming factions in the Church; causing and maintaining divisions in the Church and amongst Believers; ignoring the God given methods and the Biblical instructions for the functioning of the Church and instead following man-made rules, regulations and instructions; putting man before God in taking decisions; of trying to be a man-pleaser rather than a God pleaser; of being more afraid of man than of God etc. It sooner or later leads to various problems in the Believer’s own lives, in the Church, and in fellowship amongst God’s children.

If we, for whatever reasons, are unable to contribute to the growth and progress of the Church and the Believers; then the least we can do is not in any way preach and teach things that contribute to disunity and divisions in the Church. For this, all that we need to do is to stop following persons and copying their words, and actually start following God and obeying His Word. Paul through the Holy Spirit, has set himself as an example of following the Lord; and wants that others too should follow the Lord in the same manner as he was doing, since what he was preaching and teaching was not something he had devised, but what he had received from the Lord for the Believers and Church of the Lord (1 Corinthians 11:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2).

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins, and ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins; voluntarily and sincerely, surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

इस विषय पर पिछले दो लेखों में हमने देखा है कि संसार भर में, बाइबल के संकलित होकर एक पुस्तक बनने के आरंभ से ही, बाइबल के शत्रुओं ने उसे नष्ट करके समाप्त करने के अनगिनत प्रयास किए हैं। मसीहीयत तथा परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल का 2000 वर्ष का इतिहास, इनके बहिष्कार, प्रताड़ना और सताव, तथा इन्हें झूठी शिक्षाओं और गलत सिद्धान्तों (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3-4, 13-15; गलातियों 1:6-9) के द्वारा भ्रष्ट कर देने, और समाप्त कर देने के निरन्तर प्रयासों का इतिहास है। बाइबल के प्रसारण पर प्रतिबंध लगाए गए, उसकी प्रतियों को खोज-खोज कर एकत्रित किया गया और जला दिया गया। रोमी शासन से लेकर वर्तमान समय में कम्युनिस्ट तथा अन्य देशों में उसे कानून द्वारा वर्जित कर दिया गया और अभी भी है, उसकी प्रतियों को अपने साथ रखना दण्डनीय अपराध घोषित किया गया, और ये प्रयास आज भी ज़ारी हैं। किन्तु बाइबल की प्रतियाँ फिर भी बची रहीं, और बढ़ती रहीं, जैसा आज भी हो रहा है; लोगों ने जान पर खेलकर या जान तक देकर, बेघर होकर, बंदीगृहों में कठोर दंड सहने के लिए डाल दिए जाने के बावजूद बाइबल को बचा कर रखा, और उसे प्रकाशित तथा प्रसारित करते रहे। आज हम इसी विषय पर कुछ और रोचक तथ्यों को देखते हैं। 

वोल्टेयर नामक विख्यात फ्रांसीसी नास्तिक और परमेश्वर का घोर विरोध एवं निन्दा करने वाले व्यक्ति ने, जिसका देहांत 1778 में हुआ था, भविष्यवाणी की थी कि उसके समय से 100 वर्ष के अन्दर ही, मसीही विश्वास और बाइबल दोनों समाप्त हो जाएंगे, इतिहास में दब कर रह जाएंगे। वोल्टेयर जाता रहा, उसकी भविष्यवाणी भी बिना पूरी हुए जाती रही; किन्तु एक बहुत रोचक बात भी हुई। वोल्टेयर की मृत्यु के पचास वर्ष बाद, जेनेवा बाइबल सोसायटी ने वोल्टेयर के घर को खरीद लिया, और फिर उसके घर में लगी छापने की मशीन से बाइबल की छपाई होने लगी, छपी हुई बाइबल का प्रसार और वितरण उसी के घर से होना आरंभ हो गया। प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने कहा था, "आकाश और पृथ्वी टल जाएंगे, परन्तु मेरी बातें कभी न टलेंगी" (मरकुस 13:31), और आज तक उनकी कही यह बात सही प्रमाणित होती रही है; कोई परमेश्वर के वचन को नाश अथवा झूठा प्रमाणित करने नहीं करने पाया है।

आलोचकों ने कई धारणाएं बनाई, कि बाइबल को झूठा या गलत प्रमाणित कर दें। एक प्रयास यह तर्क देने के द्वारा किया गए कि मूसा द्वारा लिखी बाइबल की पहली पाँच पुस्तकें उसके द्वारा लिखी हुई हो ही नहीं सकती थीं क्योंकि मूसा के समय (1500-1400 ईस्वी पूर्व) तक लिखना इतना विकसित ही नहीं होने पाया था; इसलिए वे पुस्तकें बाद में कभी लिखी गई होंगे, और उन्हें मूसा के नाम कर दिया गया है। किन्तु इस तर्क और धारणा के दिए जाने के कुछ समय बाद "हम्मूराबी की लाठ" खोज निकाली गई; पत्थर की इस लाठ पर उसके द्वारा उसके राज्य में लागू किए गए नियम लिखे हैं, और यह लाठ मूसा से सैकड़ों वर्ष पुरानी है - अर्थात, यह प्रमाणित हो गया कि मूसा के समय से भी बहुत पहले से लोग लिखना जानते थे, और लिखित नियम विद्यमान थे। बाद में हुई अन्य पुरातत्व खोजों ने भी यह प्रमाणित कर दिया है कि मूसा के समय से पहले भी लिखित सामग्री विद्यमान थी, भाषा विकसित हो चुकी थी। 

इसी प्रकार का एक अन्य तर्क यह दिया गया था कि अब्राहम के साथ उत्पत्ति की पुस्तक में जिन हित्ती लोगों का उल्लेख आया है, उनका बाइबल के बाहर कोई प्रमाण नहीं है। किन्तु पुरातत्व खोजों ने इस दावे को भी झूठा दिखा दिया और हित्तियों की प्राचीन सभ्यता को उजागर भी कर दिया।

अर्थात, आज तक भी, सारे संसार भर में, और सारे इतिहास में, बाइबल को गलत या झूठा प्रमाणित करने, उसे नष्ट करने के सभी प्रयास असफल ही रहे हैं। बाइबल को नष्ट करने का प्रयास करने वाले नाश हो गए, किन्तु परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल आज भी स्थिर और दृढ़ स्थापित है, अटल है, अचूक है, हर रीति से बढ़ता ही जा रहा है। यह एक सोचने की बात है कि बाइबल और उसके संदेश में ऐसा क्या है कि संसार के इतिहास में केवल बाइबल ही एकमात्र ऐसी पुस्तक रही है जिसका हर समय, हर स्थान पर, उस समय और स्थान के शासन तथा शासन तंत्रों द्वारा, इतना घोर और हिंसक विरोध किया गया है, और उसे नष्ट कर देने के यथासम्भव प्रयास किये गये हैं; और यह सब आज भी किया जा रहा है, सक्रीय रीति से अनेकों देशों में हो रहा है। जबकि उसी समय और स्थान के जन-साधारण में बाइबल के प्रति भूख और लालसा न केवल बनी रही है, बल्कि बढ़ती ही रही है। इसीलिये इतने विरोध और नष्ट करने के प्रयासों के बावजूद, बाइबल का प्रकाशन और वितरण कभी कम नहीं हुआ, केवल बढ़ता ही रहा है - तब भी जब उसकी प्रतियाँ हाथ से लिख कर बनाई जाती थीं, तब भी जब उसे हाथ से और फिर मशीनों से छापा जाता रहा, और आज भी जब उसके डिजिटल संस्करण और अनुवाद संसार की अधिकाँश भाषाओं में इन्टरनेट पर मुफ्त में उपलब्ध हैं।

अगले लेख में हम बाइबल द्वारा, संसार के जीवन, साहित्य, कला, और सभ्यताओं पर प्रभाव डालने में अनुपम होने के बारे में देखेंगे। परन्तु अभी के लिये, ज़रा विचार कीजिये: परमेश्वर का यही वचन जगत के आने वाले न्याय, और प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को प्रभु यीशु को अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के बारे में भी बताता है (प्रेरितों 17:30-31; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10); और बाइबल में दी गई अन्त के इस समय की भविष्यवाणियों (मत्ती 24 अध्याय) के अनुसार और संसार के वर्तमान हालत के आधार पर, अन्त और न्याय का यह समय बहुत निकट है। क्या आप इस अन्त का सामना करने और प्रभु यीशु को अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिये तैयार हैं?

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Unique in its Survival Part - 3 

In the previous two articles on this topic we have seen that all over the world, since the time of its being compiled and coming into existence, the enemies of the Bible have made countless attempts to destroy and bring it to an end. The 2000 years history of Christianity and God’s Word, the Bible, is a history of relentless attempts to eliminate them - by ostracism, persecution, and through corruption by spreading false teachings and wrong doctrines (2 Corinthians 11:3-4, 13-15; Galatians 1:6-9). Circulating copies or contents of the Bible was officially banned, its copies were searched out, collected and burnt. Since the time of the Roman empire, till today, in many countries, keeping copies of the Bible was and is forbidden by law;  was and is declared a punishable offense; as we see it till date in communist and many other countries of the world. But copies of the Bible still survived, and have only continued to grow. People kept the Bible alive, and continued to publish and circulate it, even at the cost of being put to death or being imprisoned, being made homeless, and being subjected to many harsh punishments. Today we will look at some more interesting facts on this topic.

Voltaire, a noted French atheist and blasphemer who died in 1778, predicted that within 100 years from his time, both the Christian faith and the Bible would be lost, buried in history. Voltaire passed away, and his prophecy remained unfulfilled. But a very interesting thing also happened. Fifty years after Voltaire's death, the Geneva Bible Society bought Voltaire's house, and then began printing the Bible with a printing machine installed in his house; circulation and distribution of the printed Bible started happening from his home. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away" (Mark 13:31), and to this day He has always been proved to be true; No one has been able to prove the Word of God to be destructible or false.

Critics cooked up several theories, to prove the Bible to be false or wrong. One attempt was made by arguing that the first five books of the Bible said to have been written by Moses could not have been written by him because writing had not developed to that extent till Moses' time (1500–1400 AD). So those books must have been written sometime later, and then named after Moses. But sometime after this argument and theory was given, the "Pillar of Hammurabi" was discovered. This stone pillar bears the inscribed rules that he enforced in his kingdom, and is hundreds of years older than Moses, proving that people knew how to write, and written rules were present long before Moses' time. Other later archaeological discoveries have also proved that written material existed, and language had developed even before the time of Moses. 

Another similar argument was made about the existence of Hittites, mentioned with Abraham in the book of Genesis, that there is no evidence of Hittites outside the Bible. But archeological discoveries also proved this claim to be false and brought to light the ancient civilization of the Hittites.

To this day, throughout the world, and throughout history, all attempts to destroy the Bible have been unsuccessful. Those who tried to destroy the Bible perished, but the Word of God, the Bible, still remains established and firm, unshakable, infallible.    Unique in its effects on Life, Literature, Arts, Culture and Civilizations.

In other words, all over the world, and throughout the history of the world, all attempts to prove the Bible wrong or false, and destroy it have only failed. Those who tried to destroy the Bible came to an end, but the Word of God still stands tall, and firmly established; it remains irrefutable, infallible, and continues to increase in every sense of the word. It is worth pondering over, what is there in the Bible and in its message, that throughout the history of the world, it has been the only book that has been so severely, violently, and officially targeted, by the rulers of that time and place; an all out attempt for its destruction has been and is still actively being made at many places, and in many countries. Yet, the hunger and longing for the Bible amongst the common people has not only remained, but has only grown, and is continuing to grow. That is why despite all the opposition and attempts at its destruction, the publication and distribution of the Bible has never decreased, rather, has only continued to grow - as happened when it was hand-written, when it was hand-printed and later machine printed, and now, when its digital versions are freely available on the internet in all the major languages of the world.

In the next article we will see how the Bible is unique in its effects on Life, Literature, Arts, Culture and Civilizations all across the world. But for now, think over the fact that this Word of God, also speaks of the coming end of the world and time of judgment when every person will have to stand before the Lord Jesus  to give an account of his life (Acts 17:30-31; 2 Corinthians 5:10); and when we corelate the current world condition and events with the prophecies related to the end times (Matthew chapter 24), we can see that this time is very near. Are you ready to face this end-time judgment, and give an account of your life?

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

मसीही विश्वासियों एवं कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी एवं उन्नति

    पिछले कुछ लेखों में हम प्रभु यीशु द्वारा अपनी कलीसिया के कार्यों के लिए नियुक्त किए गए कार्यकर्ताओं के बारे में इफिसियों 4:11 से देखते आ रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि प्रभु यीशु ने कुछ सेवकाइयाँ निर्धारित की हैं, और उन सेवकाइयों के लिए कुछ सेवक नियुक्त किए हैं। हमने यह भी देखा है कि ये सेवकाइयाँ परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई करने से सम्बन्धित हैं। इस सन्दर्भ में हमने प्रभु यीशु के बारे में  देखा कि उसने शिक्षक, सुसमाचार प्रचारक, तथा अन्य सेवकाइयों का निर्वाह किया। प्रभु बाद, प्रभु के प्रेरितों ने भी ऐसा ही किया, और जैसा आरम्भिक कलीसियाओं में होता था, आज भी एक व्यक्ति एक से अधिक सेवकाई कर सकता है। इससे हमने यह तात्पर्य लिया था कि कलीसिया में महत्व इन पाँच प्रकार की सेवकाइयों के निरंतर ज़ारी रहने का है, न कि सेवकाइयों के लिए नियुक्त किए गए व्यक्तियों का। जिस मसीही विश्वासी में तथा जिस भी कलीसिया में ये पाँच प्रकार के कार्य ज़ारी रहेंगे, वह कलीसिया उन्नति करती रहेगी, बढ़ती रहेगी, और प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी, तथा प्रभु की महिमा का कारण होगी। इफिसियों 4:11 के बाद, इफिसियों 4:12-16 में हम इन सेवकाइयों को किए जाने के प्रभावों को मसीही विश्वासियों के जीवनों में क्रमवार, और उनके उन्नत होने की एक के बाद एक सीढ़ी पर बढ़ते हुए देखते हैं। इफिसियों 4:11 के निर्वाह के द्वारा होने वाले प्रभावों के क्रम का आरंभ इफिसियों 4:12 से होता है, जो कि उन्नति की पहली सीढ़ी है, “जिस से पवित्र लोग सिद्ध हों जाएं, और सेवा का काम किया जाए, और मसीह की देह उन्नति पाएं” से होता है। यहाँ पर इन सेवकाइयों के द्वारा कलीसिया में होने वाले पहले तीन प्रभाव दिए गए हैं:

    * पवित्र लोग सिद्ध हों जाएं [मूल यूनानी भाषा के जिस शब्द का अनुवाद यहाँ पर "सिद्ध" किया गया है, उसका शब्दार्थ होता है पूरी रीति से तैयार किया जाना। इसीलिए कुछ अंग्रेजी अनुवादों ने यहाँ पर प्रशिक्षित करने या तैयार करने के अभिप्राय वाले शब्दों का प्रयोग किया है।]

    * सेवा का काम किया जाए

    * मसीह की देह उन्नति पाए

    यहाँ पर उन्नत होते जाने के क्रम को भी देखा जा सकता है - पवित्र लोग, अर्थात मसीही विश्वासी या विश्वास के द्वारा परमेश्वर की संतान बनने वाले लोग, उन्हें सिद्ध या तैयार या प्रशिक्षित किया जाएगा, फिर वे सिद्ध किए गए परमेश्वर के लोग सेवा के कार्य को सच्चे मन से तथा योग्य रीति से करेंगे, जिससे मसीह की देह अर्थात कलीसिया और वे स्वयं भी उन्नति पाएँगे। इस पद में, मूल भाषा के जिस शब्द का अनुवाद “सिद्ध” किया गया है, उसका शब्दार्थ होता है “पूर्णतः सुसज्जित” होना, अर्थात किसी भी कार्य या ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह के लिए पूरी तरह से तैयार और आवश्यक संसाधनों एवं उपकरणों तथा समझ-बूझ से लैस होना। यहाँ “सिद्ध” शब्द का अर्थ आत्मिक और नैतिक रीति से निर्दोष, निष्पाप, निष्कलंक होना नहीं है, वरन कलीसिया के कार्यों के लिए तत्पर और तैयार हो जाना है।  साथ ही ध्यान कीजिए कि 4:12 की ये तीनों बातें कलीसिया के सभी “पवित्र लोगों” के लिए हैं, किसी विशेष नियुक्ति अथवा चुने गए कुछ विशिष्ट लोगों के लिए नहीं। अर्थात, 4:11 की सेवकाइयों के कलीसिया में भली-भांति निर्वाह के द्वारा समस्त कलीसिया, प्रभु के सभी सच्चे और समर्पित विश्वासी, प्रभु के कार्य के लिए तत्पर और तैयार हो जाएंगे, परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित उनकी अपनी-अपनी सेवकाई (इफिसियों 2:10) के निर्वाह के लिए उन्हें परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा दिए गए आवश्यक गुणों और वरदानों  का उपयोग करेंगे।

    इसका एक व्यावहारिक उदाहरण है थिस्सलुनीकिया की कलीसिया, जिसकी स्थापना का वर्णन हम प्रेरितों 17:1-9 में पाते हैं। प्रेरितों 17:2-4 में लिखा है कि थिस्सलुनीकिया में पौलुस की सेवकाई केवल “तीन सबत के दिन” ही की थी, जो दो या अधिक से अधिक तीन सप्ताह का समय बनता है, और इस दौरान पौलुस ने उन्हें सुसमाचार भी दिया, वचन की शिक्षाएं भी दीं, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप बहुत से लोगों ने प्रभु को उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण किया। पौलुस द्वारा इस मण्डली को लिखी पहली पत्री के आरंभिक अध्याय में ही हम इफिसियों 4:12 में लिखी बात के प्रभावों के प्रमाण को उस कलीसिया में प्रकट होते हुए देखते हैं। दो या तीन सप्ताह की वचन की सेवकाई से स्थापित हुए थिस्सलुनीकिया की कलीसिया के विषय स्वयं पौलुस की गवाही थी कि उन्होंने बड़े क्लेश में भी पवित्र आत्मा के आनन्द के साथ वचन को ग्रहण किया, मकिदुनिया और आख्या के सभी विश्वासियों के लिए आदर्श बने, उन इलाकों में परमेश्वर के वचन का प्रचार किया, और उनके मूरतों से परिवर्तन, मसीही विश्वास में आने, और प्रभु के दूसरे आगमन के लिए तैयार होने की चर्चा हर जगह फैल गई (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 1:6-10)। दूसरे शब्दों में, जैसे ही इफिसियों 4:11 की सेवकाइयों के द्वारा परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा को कार्य करने का अवसर और स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त हुई, थिस्सलुनीकिया के उन लोगों के जीवनों में इफिसियों 4:12 की तीनों बातें, तथा उससे और आगे के पदों की बातें भी प्रत्यक्ष दिखने लग गईं।

    यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके पास अभी अपने आप को जाँचने और परखने का अवसर है कि इफिसियों 4:12 के अनुसार आप “सिद्ध” अर्थात प्रभु के कार्य के लिए तत्पर और तैयार हैं कि नहीं? थिस्सलुनीकिया के विश्वासियों के समान अपने पुराने जीवन से पूर्णतः परिवर्तित होकर प्रभु की सेवा, उसके सुसमाचार के प्रचार में कार्यरत हैं कि नहीं - क्योंकि यह सभी “पवित्र लोगों” का दायित्व है। और इसके लिए आपको किसी विशेष प्रशिक्षण अथवा लंबे समय तक सिखाए जाने और अनुभव पाने की आवश्यकता नहीं है, वरन प्रभु को पूर्णतः समर्पित और उसके आज्ञाकारी होने की आवश्यकता है, जैसा हम थिस्सलुनीकिया की कलीसिया के उदाहरण से देखते हैं। उपरोक्त बातों का और प्रभु यीशु के वचनों को सीखने और पालन उनका पालन करते रहने का ध्यान रखिए। यह आपके लिए भी तथा औरों के लिए भी उन्नति का तथा परमेश्वर की महिमा का कारण ठहरेगा।

    यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Growth & Edification of the Church and the Believers

    In the past few articles, we have seen from Ephesians 4:11 that for the works and functioning of His Church, the Lord Jesus has set some ministries and appointed some workers for those ministries. We have seen that these ministries are related to the ministry of God’s Word in the Churches. We have also seen that just as the Lord Jesus served as a Teacher, an Evangelist, and through other ministries, and so did the Apostles in the first Church, similarly, as had been happening in the initial Churches, today too one person can serve in more than one ministry. From this fact we can infer that in the Churches, the importance is of these five ministries being steadfastly carried out, and not of individual workers being present for the ministries. In whichever Christian Believer’s life, and in the Church of the Lord Jesus these five kinds of ministries are regularly carried out, that person and that Church will continue to grow, be edified, will be useful for the Lord, and will serve to glorify God. After Ephesians 4:11, from verse 12-16, we find the progressively increasing effects of these ministries in the Church and in a Believer’s life, in a step-by-step manner. The first effect, or, the beginning of the steps in growth after the fulfilling of Ephesians 4:11 is in Ephesians 4:12, “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” In this verse we find three effects, or the first three steps:

    * Equipping of saints [the original Greek word translated as ‘Equipping’ means being fully made ready; therefore, some translations have used ‘prepared’, or ‘perfected’, or ‘trained’ instead of ‘Equipping’].

    * Work of ministry

    * Edifying of the body of Christ

    A progression can be seen here - the saints, i.e., the Christian Believers or the children of God by Faith, will be perfected or prepared, these perfected or prepared people of God will carry out their ministries worthily and diligently, which will result in the growth and edification of the Church and their own lives. Here, ‘equipping’ does not mean simply being provided with required ways and methods, nor ‘perfected’ means being made pure, sinless, and spotless, spiritually; but being ready and prepared to do the work assigned by the Lord, prepared to sincerely carry out the entrusted ministry. Also take note that these three steps or effects of 4:12 are for all “saints”, i.e., all the Christian Believers, and not just for a select few. This means that by the steadfast carrying out of the five ministries of Ephesians 4:11, will result in the Church and the saints of the Church being uplifted and prepared to carry out their other ministries, prepared beforehand by God for them (Ephesians 2:10), and for which the Holy Spirit has given them various gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

    A practical example of this is the Church of Thessalonica; we read about its being established in Acts 17:1-9. It is written in Acts 17:2-4, that Paul’s ministry in Thessalonica was only of “three Sabbaths”, which means a duration of two or at most three weeks. In this time period, Paul shared the gospel with them and taught God’s Word also, as a result many people accepted the Lord Jesus as their savior. In the first chapter of the first letter written by Paul to this Church, we see the effects that have been mentioned in Ephesians 4:12, being practically evident in that Church. This Church, established consequent to a ministry of just two or three weeks, Paul himself testifies for them that in the midst of a lot of persecution and problems, they still gladly accepted God’s Word, they not only became an example for the Christian Believers in Macedonia and Achaia, but they also preached the Word in those regions so diligently, that the report of their turning away from idols, coming into the Christian Faith, and preparing for the second coming of the Lord spread to the surrounding regions (1 Thessalonians 1:6-10). In other words, as soon as God the Holy Spirit got the freedom and opportunity to fulfill the ministries of Ephesians 4:11 amongst the Thessalonians, the initial steps of Ephesians 4:12 and the effects of the subsequent verses started becoming readily evident in that Church and the Believers in it.

    If you are a Christian Believer, then you have an opportunity and the time to examine and evaluate your life and ascertain whether or not you are ‘prepared’ or ‘perfected’ for carrying out the Lord’s work? Like those initial Believers in Thessalonica, have you completely turned away from your old worldly life and have become involved in carrying out the ministry given by God to you; since this is the responsibility of every “saint” of God. For doing this, as we see from the life of the Thessalonian Believers, you do not need any special training or being taught for a long time. All that is required is to be fully surrendered and committed to being obedient to the Lord God and His Word. As a Believer, take care to learn the Word of God and follow the aforementioned things. By doing this, you will grow and be edified, and through you others too will come to the Lord, grow in Him, be edified, and God will be glorified.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

पहला स्तंभ - वचन में लौलीन (1)

पिछले कुछ लेखों में हम देखते आ रहे हैं कि प्रभु द्वारा, प्रभु की कलीसिया के साथ जोड़ दिए जाने वाले उसके जन, अर्थात एक वास्तविक मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में, कलीसिया से जुड़ने के साथ ही, सात बातें भी जुड़ जाती हैं, उसके जीवन में दिखने लगती हैं। ये सातों बातें प्रेरितों 2:38-42 में दी गई हैं, और प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में इनका विद्यमान होना कलीसिया के आरंभ से ही देखा जा रहा है। आज भी व्यक्ति के जीवन में इन बातों की सत्यनिष्ठ उपस्थिति यह दिखाती है कि वह व्यक्ति प्रभु का जन है, उसकी कलीसिया के साथ जोड़ दिया गया है। इनमें से पहली तीन बातों को हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं। प्रेरितों 2:42 में शेष चार बातें दी गई हैं, जिनमें उस प्रथम कलीसिया के सभी लोग “लौलीन रहे”। ये चारों बातें साथ मिलकर मसीही जीवन और कलीसिया के लिए चार स्तंभ का कार्य करती हैं, जिससे व्यक्ति का मसीही जीवन और कलीसिया स्थिर और दृढ़ बने रह सकें, और प्रभु मे स्थापित तथा बढ़ते हुए हो सकें। आज से हम इन चारों बातों को एक-एक करके देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई पहली बात है “प्रेरितों से शिक्षा पाना”। जिस समय प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय की घटना घटित हुई, और प्रथम कलीसिया की स्थापना हुई, उस समय परमेश्वर का वचन जो लोगों के पास था, वह हमारी वर्तमान बाइबल का “पुराना नियम” खंड था; और वह भी फरीसियों, शास्त्रियों, सदूकियों के नियंत्रण में था। ये लोग उस वचन को अपनी सुविधा के अनुसार तोड़-मरोड़ कर अपने स्वार्थ के लिए प्रयोग किया करते थे (मत्ती 15:1-9)। साथ ही उन्होंने उस वचन की बहुत सी गलत व्याख्याएं भी लोगों में फैला रखी थीं; इसीलिए प्रभु यीशु के पहाड़ी उपदेश (मत्ती 5-7 अध्याय) में हम बारंबार प्रभु को यह कहते पाते हैं, “तुम सुन चुके हो”, “तुम्हें कहा गया है”, आदि, और फिर “परंतु मैं तुम से कहता हूँ” - अर्थात प्रभु ने वचन की गलत शिक्षाओं को लोगों को बताने के बाद, फिर उन्हें उनके वास्तविक और सही रूप में लोगों के सामने रखा। उस समय के यहूदी समाज के ये धर्म के अगुवे प्रभु यीशु के विरोधी थे, और प्रभु की शिक्षाओं तथा प्रभु यीशु में पापों की क्षमा एवं उद्धार के सुसमाचार के प्रचार और प्रसार का विरोध करते थे। इसलिए इन धर्म के अगुवों के विरोध और परमेश्वर के वचन की उनकी गलत समझ एवं जानकारी के कारण यह संभव ही नहीं था कि प्रभु की सही शिक्षाएं जन-सामान्य तक पहुंचाई जातीं, जो कि अधिकांशतः अनपढ़ या बहुत कम पढ़े लिखे थे, और परमेश्वर के वचन के बारे में जो उन धर्म के अगुवों ने उन्हें बताया और सिखाया था, उसके अतिरिक्त कुछ नहीं जानते थे। इसीलिए प्रभु ने यह दायित्व अपने चुने हुए लोगों, अपने प्रेरितों को, अपने स्वर्गारोहण के समय सौंपा था (मत्ती 28:18-20)। प्रभु ने अपनी शिक्षाओं का भण्डारी अपने इन प्रेरितों को बनाया था, और उनकी ज़िम्मेदारी थी कि वे लोगों को प्रभु की शिक्षाएं सिखाएं। जैसे-जैसे मण्डली या कलीसिया बढ़ने लगी, शैतान ने भी वचन की सही शिक्षा को, उन प्रेरितों और शिष्यों के ध्यान को भटकाने के द्वारा, लोगों तक पहुँचने से रोकने के प्रयास किए (प्रेरितों 6:1-7) किन्तु उन प्रेरितों ने प्रार्थना और वचन की सेवकाई के प्रति अपने दायित्व की प्राथमिकता को नहीं छोड़ा (6:4), परिणामस्वरूप, वचन का प्रसार हुआ, शिष्यों की संख्या भी बढ़ी, और यहूदी याजकों का भी एक बड़ा समुदाय प्रभु के शिष्यों के साथ जुड़ गया (6:7)।

जब वचन सभी स्थानों पर फैलने लगा, प्रभु यीशु के अनुयायी बढ़ने लगे, तो प्रभु ने वचन की इस सेवकाई, वचन की शिक्षा उसके लोगों तक पहुँचाने के लिए और लोगों को भी कलीसिया में नियुक्त किया (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:28; इफिसियों 4:11-12)। पौलुस प्रेरित में होकर कलीसिया की देखभाल करने वालों को वचन की सही शिक्षा देने (2 तिमुथियुस 3:16-18) का दायित्व सौंपा गया, तथा उन्हें इस बात का ध्यान रखने को कहा गया कि वे भविष्य के लिए वचन की सही शिक्षा देने वालों को भी तैयार करें (2 तिमुथियुस 2:1-2)। और तब से लेकर आज तक यह सिलसिला इसी प्रकार चलता चला आ रहा है - प्रभु के समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी सेवक, जिन्हें प्रभु ने वचन की इस सेवकाई के लिए नियुक्त किया है, इसका आत्मिक वरदान दिया है (रोमियों 12:7), वे प्रार्थना और वचन के अध्ययन में प्रभु के साथ समय बिताते हैं, प्रभु से सीखते हैं, और फिर उन शिक्षाओं को प्रभु के लोगों तक पहुँचा देते हैं, तथा भावी पीढ़ी में इसी सेवकाई के लिए प्रभु और लोगों को उन से सीखने तथा औरों को सिखाने के लिए उनमें जोड़ता चला जाता है।

अगले लेख में हम इसी विषय को ज़ारी रखेंगे, और इसके बारे में कुछ और सम्बन्धित बातों को देखेंगे।  

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

English Translation

The First Pillar - Steadfast in God’s Word (1)

For the past few articles, we have been seeing that in the people joined by the Lord to His Church, i.e., the true Christian Believers, seven things also get joined to their lives, and become evident in them. These seven things are given in Acts 2:38-42; and their presence has been there in the lives of every Christian Believer since the very inception of the Church. Even today, an honest presence of these seven things shows that he is a person of God, and has been joined by the Lord to the Church. We have already seen the first three of these seven things in the previous articles. The remaining four things, in which the members of the first Church “continued steadfastly,” are given in Acts 2:42. These four things together function as the four pillars that make the Christian life and the Church firm and stable, established and growing in the Lord. From today, we will start looking at each of these four things one-by-one.

The first thing given in Acts 2:42 is “the apostles' doctrine.” At the time when the event of Acts 2 occurred, and the first Church was established, the Word of God that was then available to the people is what we now have as the “Old Testament” in our Bibles; and that too was under the control of the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Scribes. These religious leaders used to misinterpret and manipulate God’s Word to suit their convenience, and use it for selfish gains (Matthew 15:1-9). They had spread many wrong interpretations of God’s Word amongst the people; that is why in the Lord Jesus’s ‘Sermon on the Mount’ (Matthew 5 to 7) we very often find the Lord saying phrases like “you have heard”, “it was said to you”, etc., and then after that He says something like “but I tell you” - in other words, the Lord Jesus first told the people the misinterpretation that had been taught to them, and then the correct interpretation of God’s Word. These religious leaders of the Jews of that time were against the Lord Jesus, and used to oppose His teachings and the preaching and propagation of the gospel of forgiveness of sins and salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus. Therefore, because of this antagonism of the religious leaders to the teachings of the Lord Jesus and their known tendency to misinterpret and misuse of God’s Word for selfish benefits, it was not possible that they could be trusted and used to give the factual teachings of the Lord to the common people, most of whom were uneducated or poorly educated, and hardly knew anything about the Word of God, other than what these religious leaders taught them. For this reason, the Lord gave this responsibility to His Apostles, His disciples, at the time of His ascension to heaven (Matthew 28:18-20). The Lord made these Apostles and disciples, the stewards of His teachings, and gave them the responsibility of teaching the people. As the Assemblies and Churches started to increase, Satan too tried to hinder the true teachings of the Lord from reaching the people (Acts 6:1-7) by distracting these Lord appointed teachers from their responsibilities. But those Apostles did not forego their responsibility (6:4); consequently, the Word continued to spread, the disciples increased in numbers, and a large group of even the Jewish Priests joined the disciples (6:7).

When the Word started to spread widely, the number of the disciples increased, then the Lord appointed others also, to teach God’s Word to the people (1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11-12). Through the Apostle Paul, the caretakers of the Church were entrusted to provide the correct teachings of God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16-18), and they were also instructed to prepare others who would similarly teach the Word of God correctly, and prepare others also to do the same (2 Timothy 2:1-2). Since then, this process is continuing in the same manner - the surrendered and committed disciples of the Lord, whom the Lord has given this Spiritual gift, and appointed for this purpose (Romans 12:7), they spend time in prayer and studying God’s Word, first learn from the Lord, and then pass on what the Lord teaches them to others. The Lord continues to add other similarly gifted disciples in each generation, to the Church.
