       बाइबल हमें 2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3 में बताती है कि हव्वा से पाप करवाने के लिए शैतान ने उसे अपनी चालाकी से बहका लिया, और उसी तरह से वह मसीही विश्वासियों के मनों को भी भ्रष्ट करता है और उन्हें मसीह में सादगी से भटका कर ले जाना चाहता है। हव्वा शैतान द्वारा इसलिए बहकाई जा सकी क्योंकि उसने परमेश्वर की कही बात, उसके वचन पर भरोसा रखने की बजाए, परमेश्वर के निर्देशों से बाहर की बातों पर, एक अन्य सृजे गए प्राणी के द्वारा उससे कही जाने वाली बातों पर भरोसा कर लेने को चुन लिया। उसकी दूसरी गलती थी कि उसने शैतान की बात मान लेने से पहले अपने पति आदम के साथ इस बात पर चर्चा नहीं की; और न ही परमेश्वर के आने पर, जैसा वह किया करता था, उस से इसके बारे में पूछने की प्रतीक्षा की। शैतान जो भी कहना चाहता था, उसे सुनने के बाद उसने तुरंत ही निर्णय लेकर कार्यवाही कर ली तथा आदम से भी करवा दी, क्योंकि शैतान ने जो कहा था वह हव्वा की समझ, बुद्धि, और आँखों को भाया, और उसने उस पर भरोसा कर लिया, मनुष्य के जीवन तथा सृष्टि में शैतान और पाप के लिए द्वार को खोल दिया, और हम आज तक उनके द्वारा परमेश्वर के निर्देशों की अनाज्ञाकारिता तथा परमेश्वर के वचन को नज़रंदाज़ करने के परिणाम भुगत रहे हैं।

        लगभग यही स्थिति प्रभु भोज, या, प्रभु की मेज़ तथा अन्य बातों के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा उसके वचन बाइबल में दिए गए निर्देशों के बारे में भी ईसाई या मसीही समाज में व्याप्त है। आज लोगों में परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करने और उसके निर्देशों को मानने में कोई रुचि नहीं है, अथवा इसका बहुत ही कम शौक है। इसकी बजाए वे उसी को मानने और उसका पालन करने से संतुष्ट रहते हैं जो एक अन्य मनुष्य उन्हें परमेश्वर के नाम में पुल्पिट से एक आकर्षक और तर्क-संगत रीति से बता देता है; और वे उसे स्वीकार करने तथा उसका पालन करने से पहले बाइबल से उसकी जांच अथवा पुष्टि भी नहीं करते हैं। परिणाम यह हुआ है कि शैतान ने बड़ी ही आसानी से अपनी गलत शिक्षाएं और अनुचित सिद्धांत मसीहियत में घुसा दिए हैं, अपनी गलत और शैतानी व्याख्याओं के द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन की बातों को भ्रष्ट कर दिया है, बिगाड़ दिया है। इस प्रकार से, जैसे उसने हव्वा को बहकाया, उसी प्रकार से उसने अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही समाज को बाइबल के बाहर की अपनी गलत शिक्षाओं का पालन करने के लिए, जिनमें उसकी दुष्टता की बातें, चालाकियाँ, और सांसारिक बातों की शिक्षाएं भी चतुराई से मिलाई हुई होती हैं, बहका लिया है। इसलिए, ईसाई या मसीही समाज में जो परिस्थिति व्याप्त है वह यह है कि आज लोग परमेश्वर की इच्छा को जानने, समझने, और उसका पालन करने के लिए प्रयास करने की बजाए, मनुष्य की बातों को सुनने और स्वीकार करने, उनका पालन करने में अधिक रुचि रखते हैं; अर्थात, वे परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाले होने के स्थान पर मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने वाले हो गए हैं।

        उनकी इस प्रवृत्ति का एक अनंतकाल के लिए घातक प्रभाव उत्पन्न करने वाली बात है, उनके द्वारा प्रभु भोज में एक धार्मिक अनुष्ठान के समान उस रीति से भाग लेना जो उनके समुदाय अथवा डिनॉमिनेशन में पालन की जाती है, इस विश्वास के साथ कि भाग लेने के द्वारा वे परमेश्वर के लोग बन जाएंगे, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो जाएंगे, और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश करने के योग्य मान लिए जाएंगे - जो कि एक बिल्कुल गलत और बाइबल के सर्वथा विपरीत सिद्धांत है। इस शृंखला में हम यह अध्ययन कर रहे हैं कि परमेश्वर का वचन प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के विषय वास्तव में क्या कहता है, तथा इस और अन्य गलत और घातक धारणाओं को दूर करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु की मेज़ की स्थापना अपने शिष्यों के साथ फसह का भोज खाते हुए, उसी भोज की सामग्री को लेकर उपयोग करने के द्वारा स्थापित की थी। फसह से संबंधित परमेश्वर के निर्देश निर्गमन 12 तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा मूसा में होकर दी गई व्यवस्था में दिए गए हैं। ये निर्देश और उनके तात्पर्य आज भी उतने ही सत्य हैं जितने तब थे; और इनके द्वारा हमें प्रभु की मेज़ में परमेश्वर के निर्देशों के अनुसार भाग लेने के लिए बहुत सी बातें समझने तथा सीखने को मिलती हैं, न कि एक औपचारिकता के समान, जैसा आज सामान्यतः होता रहता है। हम इन बातों को निर्गमन 12 में से समझ और सीख रहे हैं, और पिछले लेख में हमने पद 8-10 में से सीखना आरंभ किया है; जिसमें हमने देखा है कि फसह के भोज में भाग लेने और मिस्र के दासत्व से छुड़ाए जाने के लिए एक कीमत चुकानी पड़ी थी। इसी प्रकार से योग्य रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेना उनके लिए है जिन्होंने अपने आप को संसार, साँसारिकता, और उसकी आरामदेह बातों से पृथक कर लिया है; वे प्रभु के लिए खड़े होने के लिए, तैयार हैं, तथा प्रभु के लोग होने के लिए पहचाने जाने के लिए कठिनाइयों, समस्याओं, और सताव सहन करने के लिए तैयार हैं। आज हम इसी खण्ड को आगे देखेंगे और इस खण्ड की कुछ अन्य शिक्षाओं और अभिप्रायों को देखेंगे तथा उनसे सीखेंगे।

        बलि के मेमने के लहू को घर के दरवाज़े की चौखटों तथा अलंगों पर लगाने के बाद, इस्राएलियों को मेमने को आग पर भूनना था और फिर उसे अखमीरी रोटी तथा कड़वे साग-पात के साथ खाना था। इस बात को हम पिछले लेख में देख चुके हैं। इन आयतों को आगे देखने से पहले, हमें स्मरण कर लेना चाहिए कि प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी तोड़ी गई देह तथा बहाए गए लहू के चिह्न के रूप में अखमीरी रोटी तथा दाख-रस को उपयोग किया था। साथ ही, यूहन्ना 6:32-63 में प्रभु यीशु अपनी देह और लहू की बात करता है, जिन्हें उसके शिष्यों को नए जीवन के स्त्रोत के रूप में खाना और पीना था। अब, पुराने नियम में, परमेश्वर का वचन और व्यवस्था माँस को लहू के साथ खाने और लहू को खाने के लिए स्पष्ट मना करता है (उत्पत्ति 9:4; लैव्यव्यवस्था 3:17; 7:26; आदि)। इसलिए जब प्रभु यीशु अपनी देह के खाए जाने और लहू के पीए जाने की बात करता है तो यह सांकेतिक ही हो सकता है, न कि शब्दार्थ में, जिस प्रकार से जिस रोटी और दाखरस को उसने दिया था, उनके सांकेतिक अर्थ थे।

        बहुत ही साधारण रीति से, हम जो कुछ भी खाते और पीते हैं, वह हमारे पेट में जाकर अपनी रचना के अवयवों में बँट जाता है, और फिर सोख लिए जाने के बाद, खून के साथ शरीर के विभिन्न भागों में जाता है, और अपने गुणों के अनुसार शरीर में प्रभाव उत्पन्न करता है। लगभग यही बात रोटी और दाखरस, अर्थात प्रभु यीशु की देह के खाने और लहू पीने के लिए भी होती है। प्रभु यीशु ने यूहन्ना 6:54-56 में कहा है, “जो मेरा मांस खाता, और मेरा लहू पीता है, अनन्त जीवन उसी का है, और मैं अंतिम दिन फिर उसे जिला उठाऊंगा। क्योंकि मेरा मांस वास्तव में खाने की वस्तु है और मेरा लहू वास्तव में पीने की वस्तु है। जो मेरा मांस खाता और मेरा लहू पीता है, वह मुझ में स्थिर बना रहता है, और मैं उस में”; अर्थात, प्रभु की देह और लहू अनंत जीवन का स्त्रोत हैं, और उसमें बने रहने का कारण हैं। थोड़ा सा आगे, यूहन्ना 6:63 में प्रभु ने कहा, “आत्मा तो जीवनदायक है, शरीर से कुछ लाभ नहीं: जो बातें मैं ने तुम से कहीं हैं वे आत्मा है, और जीवन भी हैं”; अर्थात, उसने जिस अनंत जीवन के बारे में आयत 54 में बात की है, वह आत्मा के द्वारा, उसके शब्दों के द्वारा मिलता है। इसलिए तात्पर्य स्पष्ट है, कि प्रभु जिसे “खाने” की बात कर रहा है, वह उसका वचन है। और क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु स्वयं “जीवता वचन” है, जिसने देहधारी होकर हमारे मध्य में निवास किया (यूहन्ना 1:1, 14), उसके वचनों को “खाना” उसकी देह को खाने के समान है। इसकी पुष्टि 1 यूहन्ना 3:24 “और जो उस की आज्ञाओं को मानता है, वह उस में, और वह उन में बना रहता है: और इसी से, अर्थात उस आत्मा से जो उसने हमें दिया है, हम जानते हैं, कि वह हम में बना रहता है” से भी हो जाती है - प्रभु यीशु की आज्ञाओं को मानना ही उसमें बने रहना है। इसी प्रकार से यूहन्ना 4:34 में प्रभु यीशु परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता को भोजन करने के समान बताता है। और प्रकाशितवाक्य 10:9 तथा यहेजकेल 2:8-3:3 में यूहन्ना तथा यहेजकेल को खा लेने के लिए पुस्तकें दी गईं और फिर उन पुस्तकों को खा लेने के बाद उन्होंने जो उन से सीखा उसे लोगों को बताना था। इसलिए चिह्न और प्रतीक स्पष्ट हैं; प्रभु यीशु की देह और लहू को खाने और पीने का अभिप्राय है कि उसके शब्दों अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल को खाएं, अच्छे से चबाएं, पचा लें और उन्हें आत्मसात कर लें, तथा उस वचन को उनके जीवनों में परिवर्तन लाने दें। जैसा कि यूहन्ना 14:21, 23 कहते हैं, कि व्यक्ति के परमेश्वर से प्रेम करने का प्रमाण (वास्तव में बाइबल में परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया इस बात का एकमात्र प्रमाण) यही है कि व्यक्ति परमेश्वर के वचन से प्रेम करता है, उसका पालन करता है। इसी प्रकार से 1 यूहन्ना 2:3-6 कहता है कि परमेश्वर को जानने, उससे प्रेम करने, और प्रभु में बने रहने का प्रमाण है उसकी आज्ञाओं को जानना और मानना, जो कि व्यक्ति के द्वारा प्रभु के समान जीने और चलने के द्वारा प्रमाणित होगा।

        अगले लेख में हम इसी विषय पर आगे विचार करेंगे, और निर्गमन 12:8-10 के प्रतीकों से कुछ और बातों को सीखेंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:8-10 (2) - The Lord’s Table - For Those Who Honor, Study, and Obey God’s Word (1)

 

       The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 11:3 that to cause Eve to sin, Satan beguiled her through his craftiness, and similarly, he tries to corrupt the minds of the Christian Believers and lead them away from the simplicity in Christ. Eve could be beguiled by Satan, because instead of trusting in God’s Word, she chose to trust in things extraneous to God’s instructions being said to her by a created, earthly creature. The second error she made was to not discuss it with her husband Adam, nor wait to ask God when He would visit them, as God used to do. But on hearing what Satan had to say, since what Satan said appealed to her understanding, intellect, and eyes, she immediately acted upon it, and also made Adam do the same. Their disobedience to God’s Word and instructions given to them, opened the door for sin to enter their lives and the creation, and we are still suffering the consequences of their disobeying God and ignoring His Word.

        Much the same situation prevails regarding the Holy Communion, or, the Lord’s Table, and other instructions that God has given in His Word the Bible. Since people have scant, or, no interest in studying and learning God’s Word and obeying its instructions. Instead, they are quite content with accepting and believing whatever another person tells them, in God’s name in an attractive and seemingly logical manner from the pulpit, without bothering to cross-check and verify it from the Bible, before accepting it and following or obeying it. The consequence is that Satan has brought in and firmly established his wrong teachings and false doctrines, has corrupted God’s Word through his devious misinterpretations. Thereby, like he beguiled Eve, he has beguiled most of Christendom into following unBiblical, i.e., devious misinterpretations of God’s Word cleverly mixed with worldly things and teachings outside of the Bible. Therefore, the prevailing situation in Christendom is that people are more interested and willing to listen to men and obey them, rather than bother to learn and find out God’s will, and obey God; i.e., people would rather be “men-pleasers” than be “God-pleasers.”

        One of the eternally disastrous consequences of this tendency is believing that partaking of the Holy Communion, as a religious ritual, in the manner practised in their sect or denomination, will make them God’s people, acceptable to God and entitle them to enter heaven - a patently false and unBiblical notion. Through this series we have been studying what God’s Word actually has to say and teach about the Holy Communion and participating in it, and dispel this and other erroneous, disastrous notions. The Lord Jesus established the Lord’s Table while eating the Passover meal with His disciples, using the elements of the Passover meal. God’s instructions related to the Passover are given in Exodus 12 and in the Law given by God through Moses. These instructions and their implications are just as true today, and teach us many things about understanding and participating in the Lord’s Table in the manner God wants it to be done, and not perfunctorily, as is usually being done. We have been studying this from Exodus 12, and reached the section of verses 8-10 in the last study, where we saw that participating in the Passover and being delivered from the bondage of Egypt called for paying a price. So too worthily participating in the Lord’s Table is for those who have detached themselves from the world, worldliness, and its comforts, are willing to stand up for the Lord and face difficulties, problems, and persecution for being counted as people of the Lord Jesus. Today, we will continue ahead with the same section and explore some other teachings and implications of this section.

        After applying the blood of the sacrificial lamb of the Passover to the door-posts and lintel of their houses, the Israelites then had to roast the lamb on fire, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs - which we have considered in the last article. Before proceeding further with these verses, we should recall that in establishing the Holy Communion, the Lord Jesus gave the unleavened bread and the cup of grape-juice, as symbols of His broken body and shed blood, for His disciples to eat and drink. Also, in John 6:32-63, the Lord Jesus speaks of His body and blood, that have to be eaten and drunk as source of life. Now, in the OT, the Word of God even before the Law and even in the Law expressly forbade eating meat with blood, or using blood as food (Genesis 9:4; Leviticus 3:17; 7:26; etc.). Therefore, when the Lord speaks of eating and drinking His body and blood, it has to be, not literally, but with a symbolic meaning, just as the bread and grape-juice that He gave to eat and drink had symbolic meanings.

        Very simply stated, after we eat or drink something, it is broken down into its components in our gut, then is absorbed and circulates with the blood to various parts of the body, and produces the various effects in the body, according to its characteristics. Much the same is implied in eating the bread and grape-juice, i.e., the body and blood of the Lord Jesus. In John 6:54-56, the Lord Jesus says, “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him”; i.e., the body and blood of the Lord are the source of eternal life, and cause of abiding in Him. A little later, in John 6:63 He says, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life”; i.e., this eternal life that He has spoken of in verse 54 comes through the Spirit, through His Words. Therefore, the implication is apparent, that what the Lord is asking to be “eaten” are His Words; and since the Lord Jesus is “the living Word” that became flesh and dwelt amongst us (John 1:1, 14), “eating” His Words is the same as eating His body. This is further corroborated by 1 John 3:24 “Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us” - obeying the commandments of the Lord is to abide in Him. Similarly in John 4:34 the Lord Jesus calls obeying God to be the same as eating food. Also in Revelation 10:9 and Ezekiel 2:8-3:3 books are given to John and Ezekiel to “eat” and then they have to speak out what they learnt from “eating” those books. So, the symbolism and implication are clear, to eat and drink the body and blood of the Lord implies to eat, chew, digest, and imbibe His Words, i.e., the Bible - the Word of God, and let the Word of God bring changes in a person’s life. As John 14:21, 23 says, the proof (actually, the only God-given proof in the Bible) of a person loving God is that he will keep God’s Word and obey His Commandments. Similarly, 1 John 2:3-6 says that the proof of knowing God, loving God, and abiding in the Lord is knowing and keeping His commandments, which will be manifested by the person living and walking as the Lord did.

        In the next article, we will continue considering this topic further, and learn some more from the symbolisms of Exodus 12:8-10.

The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       इससे पिछले लेख में, जो इस विषय का परिचय था, हमने देखा कि शैतान ने प्रभु भोज, या प्रभु की मेज़ के बारे में अर्ध-सत्य और कई गलत शिक्षाएं फैला रखी हैं; उसने लोगों को भरमा कर प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ के उद्देश्यों तथा उसकी आवश्यकता के बारे में बहका दिया है। इस प्रकार से उसने इसे एक बिल्कुल उद्देश्यहीन, निरर्थक, और व्यर्थ रीति बना दिया है; फिर भी लोग बड़ी श्रद्धा के साथ जिसका निर्वाह और पालन करते रहते हैं। वे यह इसलिए करते हैं क्योंकि उन्हें इस गलतफहमी में डाल दिया गया है कि उनके ऐसा करने के द्वारा वे परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश करने के योग्य हो जाते हैं। वे इस गंभीर, आत्मघाती गलती में इसलिए पड़े हुए हैं क्योंकि उन्होंने स्वयं परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करने और प्रभु की मेज़ तथा अन्य विषयों के बारे में सत्य को सीखने का कोई प्रयास नहीं किया। वरन, उन्हें परमेश्वर के नाम में पुल्पिट से जो कुछ भी सुनाया और सिखाया जाता है उसे सुनने और मानने में ही संतुष्ट रहते है। उन्हें कभी गंभीर जिज्ञासा नहीं होती है कि जो कुछ भी उनसे कहा जा रहा है, सिखाया जा रहा है, बाइबल से उन बातों को जाँचें और उनकी पुष्टि करें। हमने यह भी देखा था कि इस सामान्य धारणा, कि क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के लिये पकड़वाए जाने से थोड़े समय पहले प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु भोज की स्थापना की, के विपरीत प्रभु की मेज़ के प्ररूप परमेश्वर के चुने हुए लोग, इस्राएलियों के लिये, उनके मिस्र के दासत्व से छुड़ाए जाने के समय से विद्यमान हैं। परमेश्वर के लोगों के लिये उनकी पुष्टि मूसा में होकर दी गई परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था में फसह के पर्व के रूप में भी हुई है।

        प्रभु यीशु ने संबंधित वचन की बातों और भविष्यवाणियों को पूरा करते हुए, इस मेज़ को न केवल इस्राएलियों के लिये, वरन् अपने सारे शिष्यों के लिये, चाहे वे यहूदी हों अथवा गैर-यहूदी, स्थापित किया था, और उन्हें निर्देश दिया कि “मेरे स्मरण के लिये यही किया करो” (लूका 22:19); अर्थात, उन्हें प्रभु के दूसरे आगमन तक निरंतर करते रहना है, जैसा पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रेरित पौलुस के द्वारा लिखवाया है (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:25-26)। हम आगे के लेखों में प्रभु द्वारा इस मेज़ के स्थापित किए जाने के बारे में और विस्तार से देखेंगे, लेकिन अभी के लिये एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण संबंधित बात पर ध्यान कीजिए, कि प्रभु और उसके शिष्यों ने फसह के भोज में भाग पृथ्वी के अपने परिवार के सदस्यों के साथ नहीं लिया, वरन् अपने आत्मिक परिवार के सदस्यों के साथ, उनके साथ जिन्होंने प्रभु को ग्रहण किया और उसके शिष्य बन गए, लिया। दूसरे शब्दों में, प्रभु ने अपनी यह मेज़ अपने आत्मिक परिवार, उसके शिष्यों के लिये स्थापित की; न कि हर किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति के लिये जो किसी भी रीति से प्रभु के साथ संबंधित अथवा जुड़े हुए हों। प्रभु ने फसह का भोज को अपने इन लोगों के साथ खाया, और फसह के भोज के खाते समय, भोज से उठाकर प्रभु की मेज़ या प्रभु भोज की स्थापना की (मत्ती 26:26-27;मरकुस 14:22-23)। प्रभु यीशु ने रोटी तोड़कर शिष्यों में, उनके लिये तोड़ी गई अपनी देह के प्रतीक के रूप में बाँटी, इसी प्रकार से उसने ‘दाख रस’ का कटोरा भी लिया और उनके लिये बहाए गए लहू के प्रतीक के रूप में बाँट दिया (लूका 22:19-20)। इस प्रकार से, उस पहले “प्रभु भोज” के समय भाग लेने वाले प्रभु और उसके शिष्य थे; लिये जाने वाली वस्तुएँ फसह के पर्व के भोज में प्रयोग की जानी वाली अखमीरी रोटी थी तथा उस भोज में प्रयोग किया जाने वाला बिना खमीर के प्रभाव का दाख रस था। प्रभु के शिष्यों को, उनके तथा बहुतेरों की छुड़ौती के लिए (लूका 22:20; मरकुस 14:24) प्रभु के द्वारा शीघ्र दिये जाने वाले अपने बलिदान के इन प्रतीकों में भाग लेना था।

        यहाँ पर ध्यान देने योग्य बात यह है कि सुसमाचारों तथा 1 कुरिन्थियों के संबन्धित वृतांतों में प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के लिये “खमीरा दाख रस” या wine का, यानि कि किसी भी खमीरी वस्तु के प्रयोग का कोई उल्लेख नहीं है। पवित्र शास्त्र में सामान्यतः खमीर गलत शिक्षाओं और सिद्धांतों, और भ्रष्ट करने वाले प्रभावों का प्रतीक रहा है (मत्ती 16:6, 11; मरकुस 8:15; 1 कुरिन्थियों 5:6-8); और इसका प्रयोग फसह के पर्व के दिनों में पूर्णतः वर्जित था (निर्गमन 12:15, 19, 39; 13:7; 23:18; व्यवस्थाविवरण 16:3-4), और न ही व्यवस्था के अनुसार यहोवा के सम्मुख आग में जलाई जाने वाली किसी भी भेंट में खमीर के होने की अनुमति थी (निर्गमन 23:18; 34:25; लैव्यव्यवस्था 2:11; 7:12; 8:2; 10:12; गिनती 6:15)। सुसमाचारों के वृतांतों में कटोरे में “दाख रस” होने की बात लिखी गई है (मत्ती 26:29; मरकुस 14:25; लूका 22:18)। इसलिए वचन के आधार पर प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में “खमीरा दाख रस” या wine के प्रयोग किए जाने का कोई उल्लेख, समर्थन, अथवा पुष्टि नहीं है।

        परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में, मिस्र परमेश्वर के लोगों की बंधुवाई और सताए जाने का प्रतीक रहा है (निर्गमन 6:7; 20:2; व्यवस्थाविवरण 6:12; यहोशू 24:17); और उनके संपूर्ण इतिहास में, इस्राएलियों ने परमेश्वर की सहायता से अपने छुड़ाए जाने को, जिसे वह स्वयं कभी नहीं कर सकते थे, स्मरण किया और उसका उत्सव मनाया है (दानिय्येल 9:15; आमोस 2:10; मीका 7:15; प्रेरितों 7:17-20, 35-36)। परमेश्वर की सहायता से ही मिस्र से इस्राएलियों का छुटकारा, पाप और शैतान के दासत्व से प्रभु के कार्य और मध्यस्थता के द्वारा छुड़ाए जाने का प्रतीक है।

        इन बातों को ध्यान में रखने के बाद, अब हम निर्गमन 12 की ओर मुड़ते हैं, जहाँ प्रभु की मेज़ के पहले प्ररूप का वर्णन दिया गया है। निर्गमन 12 में परमेश्वर यहोवा के द्वारा मूसा में होकर मिस्र के विरुद्ध किए गए अंतिम आश्चर्यकर्म का वर्णन है, और इस घटना के तुरंत बाद फिरौन और मिस्रियों ने इस्राएलियों  को बंधुवाई से मुक्त कर दिया, और उन्हें मिस्र से बाहर जाने के लिए बाध्य किया, और उन लोगों ने वाचा किए हुए देश की ओर कूच किया। अपनी चर्चा के लिये, हम इस अध्याय के तीन खंडों को देखेंगे:

1.   निर्गमन 12:1-14 फसह के भोज के बलिदान का मेमना और उसका खाया जाना

2.   निर्गमन 12:15-20 फसह के भोज से संबंधित नियम

        इनके मध्य के खंड, पद 21-39 में इस्राएलियों  के द्वारा मेमने के बलिदान किए जाने, उसके लहू को अपने घर पर लगाए जाने, मिस्रियों के पहिलौठों की मृत्यु, और इस्राएलियों  के दासत्व से मुक्त कर के मिस्र से बाहर भेजे जाने और उनके साथ एक बड़ी मिली-जुली भीड़ के भी जाने के बारे में है; और अंतिम दो पद, 50 और 51 इस अध्याय का निष्कर्ष है।

        अगले लेख में हम पहले खंड, निर्गमन 12:1-14 को देखेंगे और उसका आत्मिक मेमने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के बलिदान के साथ मिलान करेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे। 

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Symbolisms with OT’s First Antecedent - Exodus 12

        In the previous article, in the introduction to this topic we have seen that Satan has spread many half-truths and wrong teachings about the Holy Communion, or The Lord’s Table; has mis-interpreted and misused Bible passages, and has beguiled and misguided the people about the Lord God’s purposes for the Holy Communion and its necessity. Thereby, essentially, turning it into an absolutely unintended, vain and meaningless ritual; but one that people nevertheless observe very reverentially. They do this because they have been misled into believing that their doing this makes them acceptable to God, worthy of gaining entry into heaven. They have fallen into this grave, suicidal error, because they have not bothered to study God’s Word for themselves and learn the truth about the Lord’s Table and other things. Instead, they are content with listening and following whatever is dished out to them in the name of God from the pulpit, never being eager to verify from the Bible all that is being told and taught to them. We had also seen that contrary to the popular belief that the Lord’s Table was established by the Lord just before His being betrayed and taken for crucifixion, the antecedents of this Table have been there for God’s chosen people Israel, since the time of Israel’s delivery from the bondage of Egypt. They have been affirmed for God’s people in the Law of God given through Moses as the Passover feast.

        The Lord Jesus, through fulfilling the related prophecies, prescribed it not just for the Israelites, but for all of His disciples, whether Jews or Gentiles, and instructed that His disciples “do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:19); i.e., they were to continue practicing it till He comes again, as the Holy Spirit had it written down through the Apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 11:25-26). We will look into the Lord Jesus instituting this Table in some more detail in later articles, but for now please note a very pertinent fact that the Lord and His disciples participated in the Passover feast, not with their immediate earthly families, but together as a spiritual family by having accepted the Lord and become His disciples. In other words, this Table was meant for the Lord’s spiritual family, His disciples; and not for all and sundry, who might be associated with or related to the Lord in some manner. The Lord Jesus ate the Passover meal with these disciples, and during the meal got up and instituted the Lord’s Table (Matthew 26:26-27; Mark 14:22-23). Lord Jesus broke the bread and distributed it as a symbol of His body broken for them, and similarly asked the disciples to share the cup of the ‘fruit of the vine’ (Luke 22:18), a symbol of His blood shed for them (Luke 22:19-20). So, the participants in the first “Holy Communion” were the Lord Jesus and His disciples; the elements were the unleavened bread used for the Passover meal, and the unfermented grape-juice - the fruit of the vine, being used for that meal. The disciples were to eat and drink these symbols of the Lord’s coming sacrifice for the redemption of the disciples and many (Luke 22:20; Mark 14:24).

        The thing to note here is that the “wine”, the fermented end-product of the grape-juice, the fermentation process again involving the use of yeast, i.e., leaven, has never been used in the Gospel accounts and in 1 Corinthians in association for the elements of the Lord’s Table or The Holy Communion. Leaven, or yeast, in the Scriptures is generally a symbol of wrong teachings, doctrine and corrupting influences (Matthew 16:6, 11; Mark 8:15; 1 Corinthians 5:6-8) and was forbidden in the days of the Passover (Exodus 12:15, 19, 39; 13:7; 23:18; Deuteronomy 16:3-4) and in offerings made to the Lord by fire (Exodus 23:18; 34:25; Leviticus 2:11; 7:12; 8:2; 10:12; Numbers 6:15). In the Gospels, the content of the cup has been identified as the ‘fruit of the vine’ (Matthew 26:29; Mark 14:25; Luke 22:18). Therefore, there is no Scriptural support or sanction for using “wine” or any drink made through fermentation in the Holy Communion, the Lord’s Table.

        In God’s Word the Bible, Egypt has been a symbol of bondage and oppression of God’s people (Exodus 6:7; 20:2; Deuteronomy 6:12; Joshua 24:17); and throughout their history, the Israelites have remembered and celebrated their God given deliverance from this bondage and oppression, which they could never have accomplished on their own (Daniel 9:15; Amos 2:10; Micah 7:15; Acts 7:17-20, 35-36). Deliverance from Egypt by divine intervention, is symbolic of deliverance from bondage of sin and Satan by the intervention and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

        With these in mind, let us now turn to Exodus 12, where the first antecedent of the Lord’s Table has been given. Exodus 12 describes the last miracle the Lord God did through Moses, the death of the firstborns of the Egyptians, and immediately following this event, Pharaoh and the Egyptians released the Israelites from their bondage, and made them go out of Egypt, and they left for the Promised Land. This chapter, for our purposes, can be considered in three sections:

1.   Exodus 12:1-14 The Lamb of the Passover meal and it’s being eaten

2.   Exodus 12:15-20 The Ordinance of the Passover meal

3.   Exodus 12:40-49 The Partakers of the Passover meal

        The in-between section from verse 21-39 describes the event of the sacrificing of the Lamb by the Israelites, applying the blood of the lamb to their houses, the death of the Egyptian firstborns, and the release of the Israelites from bondage and being sent out of Egypt; a mixed multitude also going out with them; and the last two verses 50 & 51 is the conclusion for the chapter.

        In the next article we will look at the first section, Exodus 12:1-14 and corelate it with the spiritual sacrificial lamb - the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are a Christian Believer, then it is necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु के मार्ग पर चलने के बारे में पूछने वाले भक्त यहूदियों से पतरस द्वारा, प्रेरितों 2:38-42 में कही गई सात बातों में से पहली तीन बातों को देखने के बाद, प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई शेष चार बातों पर एक-एक करके मनन आरम्भ करने से पहले, पिछले लेख में हमने इन चारों बातों के बारे में देखा है कि ये मसीही जीवन की स्थिरता के खंभे और उन्नति के लिए अनिवार्य आधार हैं। किन्तु फिर भी आज इन बातों को लेकर अधिकांशतः मसीही बेपरवाह हैं, इनमें से कुछ का वे यदा-कदा औपचारिकता पूरा करने के लिए निर्वाह कर लेते हैं; लेकिन फिर भी परमेश्वर से यही अपेक्षा रखते हैं कि वह उनके साथ रहे, उनकी सुनता रहे, उनके पक्ष में कार्य करता रहे। आज इसी विषय को ज़ारी रखते हुए, हम इस पर थोड़ा और विचार करेंगे। 

अपने आप को ईसाई या मसीही कहने वाले लोगों में इन चारों बातों को पूरा न करने को लेकर एक बहुत सामान्य धारणा पाई जाती है - समय ही नहीं होता है, कैसे करें? संसार और सांसारिकता की बातों के बाद उनके पास समय ही नहीं बचता है कि वे प्रभु के साथ समय बिताएं, प्रभु के लिए कुछ करें। उनके पास तो प्रभु के लिए समय और सामर्थ्य नहीं होते हैं, लेकिन फिर भी उनकी इच्छा और प्रार्थना यही रहती है कि प्रभु उनके साथ बना रहे और उनके लिए, उनके पक्ष में होकर काम करता रहे। फिर इसके साथ एक दूसरा बहाना भी जोड़ दिया जाता है, “प्रभु हमारे दिल और जीवन के हाल तो जानता है; उसे पता है कि हम उससे प्रेम करते हैं, बस उपयुक्त समय नहीं देने पाते हैं। वह हमारी स्थिति समझता है, दयालु और करुणामय है, और अपनी दया और करुणा में होकर हमसे व्यवहार करेगा।” लेकिन ये लोग इस बात पर बिलकुल विचार नहीं करते हैं कि क्या होगा जब न्याय के दिन प्रभु उनसे कहेगा, “हाँ, मैं दयालु और करुणामय हूँ, और इसीलिए मैं, इतने सालों तक, बारंबार, तुम्हारे पास संगति के लिए, तुम्हें विश्राम और आशीष देने के लिए, तुम्हारी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए प्रतिदिन आता रहा और तुमसे समय माँगता रहा, अपने लोगों के द्वारा तुम्हें संदेश भेजता रहा, तुम्हें अपनी प्राथमिकताएं सही करने की शिक्षाएं देता रहा, किन्तु तुमने हर बार नश्वर संसार की नाशमान बातों को मुझ अविनाशी परमेश्वर और उसकी अनन्तकालीन आशीषों से अधिक महत्वपूर्ण समझा, संसार को ही प्राथमिकता दी। तुम जानते थे कि मुझे छोड़कर तुम जिसके लिए परिश्रम और प्रयास करने में लगे हुए हो, एक दिन वह सब नष्ट हो जाएगा, तुम्हारे साथ उसका कुछ अंश भी नहीं जाएगा। तुम ये भी जानते थे कि मैं तुम्हें प्रतिफल तुम्हारे मेरे लिए किए गए कार्यों के अनुसार दूँगा, संसार के लिए किए गए कार्यों के अनुसार नहीं; लेकिन फिर भी तुमने संसार को ही प्राथमिकता दी, उसी के लिए उपयोगी बने रहे, मेरे लिए नहीं। आज, यह मेरे उस सच्चे और खरे न्याय का दिन है, जिसके विषय तुम्हें मैं चिताता रहा, किन्तु तुम नहीं चेते; इसलिए आज, तुम्हारे द्वारा जानते-बुझते-समझते हुए किए गए निर्णय के अनुसार ही तुम वही फसल पाओगे, जिसके बीज तुमने अपने लिए स्वेच्छा से अपने जीवन में बोए हैं। नाशमान बातों को अपने जीवन में बोया है, विनाश की कटनी ही काटने को मिलेगी।”

प्रभु यीशु के लिए समय, प्रयास, और परिश्रम व्यर्थ या निष्फल नहीं है (1 कुरिन्थियों 15:58), वरन ऐसे निवेश (investment) के समान है, जिसका कम-से-कम सौ-गुना प्रतिफल, और अनन्तकालीन आशीषें बिलकुल निश्चित हैं (मरकुस 10:29, 30)। जो अपना पहला समय, परिश्रम, प्राथमिकता प्रभु को देते हैं, प्रभु उन्हें शेष कार्य करने के लिए उपयुक्त समय, परिश्रम और प्रतिफल भी देता रहता है, जिससे वे अपने सांसारिक कार्यों में भी सफल रहते हैं, और प्रभु के लिए भी उपयोगी होकर आशीषित बने रहते हैं। आवश्यकता प्रभु पर भरोसा रखते हुए विश्वास के साथ सही दिशा में कदम बढ़ाने की है। हम अगले लेख से इन चारों बातों को एक-एक करके कुछ विस्तार से देखेंगे।

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो अभी समय और अवसर रहते अपने जीवन को जाँच-परख कर देख लीजिए कि आप इन सातों बातों के संदर्भ में, कहाँ खड़े हैं? प्रभु की बातें और आज्ञाकारिता आपके जीवन में क्या स्थान पाती हैं? यदि प्रभु यीशु, उसका वचन, और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता आपके जीवन की प्राथमिकता नहीं है, तो आपको बहुत गंभीरता से अपने जीवन का पुनःअवलोकन और आँकलन (review and re-assessment) करने की तथा आवश्यक सुधारों को लाने की आवश्यकता है (2 कुरिन्थियों 13:5), इससे पहले कि बहुत देर हो जाए।

The Church & Believer - Provision To Be Firm & Stable (2)

Having seen the first three of the seven things that Peter said to the devout Jews who wanted to learn about following the Lord, in Acts 2:38-42, before we go into considering the next four things one by one, we have seen in the previous articles that these are the pillars of stability, and the essential basis for growth for Christian living.  But still, most of the Christians remain unconcerned about them, they may observe one or two of them off & on merely to fulfill a formality. Yet they expect the Lord to always be with them, listen to them, and continually work in their favor. Today we will ponder a bit more on this topic. 

In those who call themselves “Christians” but actually are not, there is a common excuse found for not fulfilling these four things - “there is no time, how then can we do them?” After spending their time and energies in things of the world and worldliness, they have no time or energy left to spend with the Lord, to be useful for the Lord. They do not have the time and energy for theLord, but still their desire and prayer always is that the Lord should always be with them, should always work in their favor and for them. Then another excuse is added to this one, “The Lord knows our hearts and life; He knows that we do love Him and care for Him, but are unable to give time to Him. He knows and understands our condition, He is loving and gracious, and will reward us according to His grace and compassion.” But these people fail to realize and understand what will happen to them on the day of judgement, when they are to stand before the Lord and give an account of their lives to Him? What answer will they have when the Lord says to them, “Yes, I am gracious and compassionate; that is why for so many years I patiently kept coming to you over and over again, to have fellowship with you, to give you rest and blessings, to help you and guide you; I kept asking for your time to strengthen you and lift you out of the temporal into the eternal; I kept sending messages to you through my disciples, my children; I kept pleading with you to set your priorities right. But you spurned all my attempts, and chose the perishing world and its things; you always gave more importance to the world and worldliness than Me; for you the temporal benefits of the world were always more important than the eternal blessings and benefits I could give you. You well knew that the things you are laboring for, striving after, and living for will all be destroyed one day; none of them, not even a fraction, will go with you. You also knew that the rewards that I will be giving to you at the end, will be according to what you have done for Me, not according to what you have done for the world. But still you continued to give priority and importance to the world, you remained useful for the world, never for Me. Now, this is the day of my fair and just judgement, about which I kept warning you, and wanted to prepare you for. But you never paid due heed to my warnings and teachings. Therefore, today, according to your own decisions, that you have taken knowledgeably, willingly, and being fully aware of everything, you will reap a harvest of what you have sown in your lives. You have sown seeds of perishing, and will reap a harvest of destruction.”

The time, efforts, and labor put in for the Lord are never a waste or in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58); rather it is like an investment that has a guaranteed return of at least a hundredfold along with eternal blessings (Mark 10:29-30). Those who give their time and labour to the Lord as a priority, the Lord besides His eternal blessings, also gives back to them enough time, strength, and wisdom to be successful and growing in their work for the world, and continue to be useful and fruitful for the Lord and grow in Him as well. One only has to step out in faith and move in the right direction.

If you are a Christian Believer, then check where you stand in your life in relation to these seven things, and evaluate your life and priorities, while you have the time and opportunity from the Lord. What place do the instructions and commandments of the Lord, and their obedience have in your life? If the Lord Jesus, His Word, and His obedience are not the priority of your life, and you are more inclined towards the world and gains of the world, then, very seriously review and reassess your life and correct everything that needs to be corrected (2 Corinthians 13:5), before it is too late. From the next article, we will look in some detail about each of these four pillars of Christian life, individually.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित बातों के बारे में सीखते हुए, हम प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई चार बातों को, जिनका पालन आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी लौलीन होकर किया करते थे, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में दिए गए उनसे सम्बन्धित पदों और उदाहरणों के आधार पर देख रहे हैं। पहली तीन बातों को देखने के बाद अब हम चौथी बात, प्रार्थना करने के बारे में मत्ती 6:5-15 के आधार पर विचार कर रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि जिसे सामान्यतः “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” कहा जाता है, और जिसे बचपन से ही रट लेने के बाद सामान्यतः मसीही हर अवसर पर और हर बात के लिए, बिना उसके बारे में सोचे-समझे, उस पर विचारे, यूँ ही बोलते रहते हैं, वह वास्तव में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा दी गई कोई ‘प्रार्थना’ नहीं है। बल्कि पिता परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य प्रार्थनाएं बनाने के लिए एक रूपरेखा, एक ढाँचा है। प्रत्येक मसीही को प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए इस ढाँचे के अनुसार अपने आप को, अपने जीवन और व्यवहार को सही करके, उसमें दी गई बातों के आधार पर परमेश्वर के सामने प्रस्तुत करने के लिए अपने निवेदनों को तैयार करना चाहिए। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि किस प्रकार से शैतान ने हमें बहका और भरमा कर, यहाँ पर प्रभु ने जो प्रार्थना के विषय दिए हैं, उन्हें तो नज़रन्दाज़ करवा दिया है। लेकिन इससे थोड़ा सा आगे, मत्ती 6:19-34 में जो बातें परमेश्वर ने स्वतः ही अपने सच्चे, समर्पित, आज्ञाकारी विश्वासियों को उपहार के समान देने के लिए रखी हुई हैं, उन्हें हमारे प्रार्थना के विषय बनवा दिया है। परिणामस्वरूप, हमें न तो प्रार्थना वाली बातें मिलती हैं, और न ही उपहार में मिलने वाली बातें। क्योंकि पहली हम माँगते नहीं हैं, और दूसरी को पाने के लिए जो करना चाहिए उसे करने की बजाए, उनके लिए बस प्रार्थना करते रह जाते हैं। परमेश्वर के वचन को समझने और पालन करने में गलती हमारी है, किन्तु अपेक्षित उत्तर न पाने के लिए हम दोष परमेश्वर पर लगाते हैं, कि वह हमारी सुनता ही नहीं है। जबकि सच तो यह है कि हम उसकी नहीं सुनते हैं, उसके कहे के अनुसार नहीं करते हैं; बल्कि मनुष्यों की कही और गढ़ी हुई बातों में, उनकी सिखाई हुई गलतियों में फंसे और हानि उठाते रहते हैं। आज हम प्रभु द्वारा प्रार्थना में माँगने के लिए जो तीन बातें दी हैं, उनपर विचार करना आरम्भ करेंगे।

 

जैसा हमने पहले देखा है, मत्ती 6:11-13a में प्रभु ने तीन बातें बताई हैं, जिन्हें मसीही विश्वासियों को पिता परमेश्वर से माँगना चाहिए। पहली बात, पद 11 में दी गई है, “हमारी दिन भर की रोटी आज हमें दे” (मत्ती 6:11)। प्रभु की यह बात इस्राएलियों के मिस्र के दासत्व से निकलकर मिस्र की यात्रा के समय उनके भोजन के बारे में ध्यान करवाती है। हम उत्पत्ति 16 अध्याय में देखते हैं कि उन इस्राएलियों के भोजन के लिए, परमेश्वर उन्हें प्रतिदिन मन्ना दिया करता था। उन्हें प्रतिदिन सवेरे उठकर उसे एकत्रित करना होता था, और उनके पास हमेशा परिवार के प्रत्येक व्यक्ति की आवश्यकता के अनुसार दिन भर का मन्ना उपलब्ध रहता था, चाहे वे कम या अधिक, जितना भी एकत्रित करें। यदि अधिक एकत्रित करते थे, तो जो आवश्यकता से अधिक था, वह सड़ जाता था; और यदि कम एकत्रित किया होता था, तो भी कोई भूखा नहीं रहता था। केवल सबत के दिन के लिए वे दो दिन की आवश्यकता के अनुसार मन्ना एकत्रित किया करते थे, और वह खराब नहीं होता था। जब तक वे इस्राएली कनान में आकर बस नहीं गए, उनके पास खेती करके भोजन का साधन नहीं हो गया, परमेश्वर उन्हें मन्ना देता रहा (यहोशू 5:12)। लेकिन जंगल की 40 वर्ष की यात्रा में परमेश्वर के उन लोगों, इस्राएलियों को, कभी एक दिन, या एक बार भी मन्ना दिए जाने के लिए परमेश्वर से कोई प्रार्थना नहीं करनी पड़ी। परमेश्वर ने प्रतिज्ञा की थी कि उन्हें प्रतिदिन मन्ना मिलेगा, और प्रति भोर, मन्ना उनके लिए उपलब्ध होता था, उन्हें बस जाकर उसे एकत्रित करना होता था। तो फिर प्रभु यहाँ पर अपने शिष्यों से प्रतिदिन की रोटी माँगने के लिए क्यों कह रहा है? उसने, उन शिष्यों से यह क्यों नहीं कहा कि परमेश्वर से माँगो कि जैसे इस्राएलियों को प्रतिदिन उनका भोजन मिल जाता था, वैसे ही हमें भी जीवन भर स्वतः ही भोजन मिलता रहे; माँगने की आवश्यकता ही न हो?

उस समय की इस्राएलियों की परिस्थिति का ध्यान कीजिए; वे यात्रा में थे। परमेश्वर उनके मार्ग का, उन्हें कितना चलना है, कब और कहाँ रुकना है, कितने समय रुकना है, कब फिर से चल देना है, अगला पड़ाव कब और कहाँ होगा, आदि सभी बातों को तय करता था, और उसके अनुसार उन्हें लेकर चलता था (गिनती 9:17-22)। इसलिए उस पूरी यात्रा में, उनकी बलवई और अनाज्ञाकारिता की प्रवृत्ति के बावजूद, उन इस्राएलियों के पास सिवाए परमेश्वर पर मन्ना के लिए निर्भर रहने के, भोजन के लिए अन्य कोई विकल्प था ही नहीं। वे मिस्र के भोजन को याद करके विलाप कर सकते थे, लेकिन कनान में पहुँचने से पहले वैसे भोजन को प्राप्त नहीं कर सकते थे। उन इस्राएलियों के समान, आज के मसीही भी बलवई हैं, ढीठ और अनाज्ञाकारी तो हैं; लेकिन एक तरह से, भोजन के लिए परमेश्वर पर निर्भर नहीं हैं। आज वे अपने प्रयत्न, अपने परिश्रम से, या संसार के साथ समझौते करके, शारीरिक भोजन प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। इसलिए, अपने शिष्यों को प्रार्थना में माँगने के लिए पहली बात प्रतिदिन का भोजन, को रखने के द्वारा प्रभु अपने शिष्यों के अन्दर यह प्रवृत्ति, यह निर्भरता चाहता है कि वे अपनी शारीरिक सामर्थ्य और साँसारिक योग्यता पर, अपनी सम्पन्नता पर भरोसा ना करें, वरन केवल परमेश्वर पर निर्भर रहने वाले हों। 

उन इस्राएलियों के, परमेश्वर के प्रति हर प्रकार के व्यवहार के बावजूद, परमेश्वर उन्हें प्रतिदिन उनकी आवश्यकता के अनुसार मन्ना देता ही रहा; उसे कभी रोका नहीं। अर्थात परमेश्वर के प्रावधान उसके लोगों के लिए हमेशा और हर परिस्थिति में उपलब्ध रहते हैं, “जवान सिंहों तो घटी होती और वे भूखे भी रह जाते हैं; परन्तु यहोवा के खोजियों को किसी भली वस्तु की घटी न होवेगी” (भजन 34:10)। लेकिन जो परमेश्वर पर नहीं, बल्कि स्वयं पर निर्भर रहते हैं, वे नहीं जानते हैं कि कब परिस्थिति बदले, कब कोई दुर्घटना, कोई रोग, कोई आपदा आए, और वे सम्पन्नता से कंगाली में पहुँच जाएं; बहुतायत से निकलकर दाने-दाने को तरस जाएं। संसार कि जिन लोगों पर वे भरोसा कर रहे हैं, वे कब उन्हें धोखा दे दें, कब उनसे उनका सब कुछ छीन लें। इसलिए प्रभु के सच्चे शिष्यों को परमेश्वर से जो माँगना है, उसमें सब से पहली बात है परमेश्वर पर निर्भर रहने की प्रवृत्ति, जिससे वे कभी किसी धोखे में, हानि में न आएं; उनकी आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति का स्त्रोत हमेशा उपलब्ध बना रहे। अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे देखेंगे।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (31)

While learning about things related to practical Christian living, we have been considering the four things given in Acts 2:42, which the initial Christian Believers observed steadfastly, through the examples and verses given about them in God’s Word, the Bible. Having seen the first three things, we are now considering the fourth one, prayer; and on the basis of Matthew 6:5-15 we are seeing about the “Lord’s Prayer.” We have seen that what is commonly called the “Lord’s Prayer,” and is usually memorized in childhood and then is routinely spoken by rote on all occasions, for everything without trying to understand about it or ponder over it, is actually not a ‘prayer’ given by the Lord. Instead, it is an outline, a framework to build prayers acceptable to God the Father. Every Christian should correct and build their lives and behavior according to this framework and the things given in it, and then prepare their prayers to offer to God according to this outline. In the previous article we have seen how Satan has deceived and misled us to ignore the things stated by the Lord in these verses to pray about. But a little ahead, in Matthew 6:19-34 what God has given as things that He will automatically gift to His true, surrendered, obedient disciples, those, under Satan’s influence on us, have become our prayer points. Consequently, neither do we receive the things that should be our topics for prayer, nor those which are meant to be given as gifts or rewards. Because we never pray and ask for the first ones, and do not do what we should be doing to receive the second ones, but only keep praying about them. The fault of not understanding and obeying God’s Word is ours, but since we do not get our expected answers, we hold God responsible and accuse Him of not answering our prayers. Whereas, the truth is that instead of listening to God, we listen to men and their contrived teachings, and remain caught up in their wrong teachings and keep suffering loss. Today we will begin considering the three topics for prayer that have been stated by the Lord here.

As we have seen earlier, the Lord has said three things in Matthew 6:11-13a, which the Christian should be praying about to God. The first is in verse 11 “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11). What the Lord has said brings to mind the way God provided food for the Israelites when they came out of slavery in Egypt and journeyed to the Promised Land. We see in Exodus chapter 16 that God gave them food for the day in the form of manna every day. Every morning the Israelites had to gather manna for the day, and they always had enough for the needs of the family throughout the day, no matter how much or how little they would gather. If they gathered in excess, it would rot, even if they had gathered less, no one went hungry. Only for the Sabbath day could they gather enough to last them for two days and it would not rot. They continued to receive manna till they settled in Canaan and had their first harvest (Joshua 5:12). But throughout their 40 years of travel in the wilderness, never once did the Israelite have to ask for manna to be provided to them. God had promised that they would receive it every morning, and every morning it was there, available for them; all they had to do was go and gather it for the day. Then why is the Lord asking His disciples to pray for their daily bread? Instead, why did He not ask the disciples to ask God to automatically keep giving them food daily, as He gave to the Israelites, without having to pray for it?

Ponder over the situation of the Israelites at that time; they were traveling. It was God who decided the way they had to take, for how long they had to continue traveling, when and where they were to break journey, for how long they had to stop, when they were to resume the journey, when and where would be the next camping, etc. (Numbers 9:17-22). Therefore, in that whole journey, despite their being rebellious, stiff-necked, and disobedient, the Israelites had no one but God to depend upon and no alternative for food except for the manna He provided to them as their food for the day. They could sorrow and lament for the food they ate in Egypt, but till they reached Canaan, they could never have it again. Like those Israelites, today’s Christians too are similarly rebellious, stiff-necked, and disobedient; but in a way, are not totally dependent upon God for their food as the Israelites were. Today, through their efforts, work, or compromising with the world, they can arrange for food for their physical needs. Therefore, by keeping their daily provision of food as the first prayer matter, the Lord wants the disciples to develop this tendency, this dependency that they will never rely on their physical strength, their capabilities, their prosperity, the world, but only trust and rely upon God for everything.

Despite whatever way those Israelites treated God, God continued to provide them with manna according to their needs; He never stopped it for them. In other words, God’s provisions are always available for His people, under all circumstances “The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing” (Psalm 34:10). But those who depend not upon God but upon themselves, they never know when circumstances will change and they will go from being prosperous to being paupers. Some disease, some accident, some natural disaster would change everything for them. The people of the world that they have been relying upon, may deceive them and loot them out of everything they have. Therefore, the true disciples of the Lord, the first thing they should learn to ask from God is to have the nature of totally depending upon Him for everything, so that they will never be deceived by anyone, suffer any loss from anyone, and they always have available the inexhaustible source to meet their needs. If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
