    सुसमाचार से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाओं पर विचार करते हुए, हमने देखा है कि सुसमाचार पश्चाताप और विश्वास करने के द्वारा ही प्रभावी होता है (इब्रानियों 4:2)। जिन्होंने वास्तव में पश्चाताप किया है और सुसमाचार को ग्रहण किया है, वे फिर, नया-जन्म पाए हुए परमेश्वर की सन्तान, मसीही विश्वासी होने के नाते, अपने जीवनों से परमेश्वर की महिमा करते हैं। जो अपने जीवनों से परमेश्वर की महिमा करते हैं, अर्थात स्वेच्छा से परमेश्वर को अपना जीवन समर्पित कर के, उसकी तथा उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता में बने रहने वाले मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए, उनके लिए जो परमेश्वर के कहे का पालन करने के लिए विश्वास के साथ कदम बढ़ाते हैं, परमेश्वर ने तीन प्रकार की बहुत महान आशीषें रख छोड़ी हैं। पहली, जिसे हम देख चुके हैं, है कि परमेश्वर उस विश्वासी के साथ एक लाड़-प्यार करने वाले प्रेमी पिता के समान रहता है।

    दूसरी, जिस पर हम वर्तमान में विचार कर रहे हैं, वह अपने वचन के द्वारा उन्हें सम्पूर्ण, प्रत्येक भले कार्य के लिए पूर्णतः तैयार, और परिपक्व बनाता है ताकि वे मनुष्यों की चालाकियों द्वारा किसी धोखे में न पड़ें। तीसरी, परमेश्वर उन्हें अपने पुत्र प्रभु यीशु मसीह के स्वरूप और समानता में ढालना चाहता है। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने विश्वासियों को अपना वचन दिया है, और अपना पवित्र आत्मा भी, कि उनका सहायक हो, उन्हें वचन सिखाए, और मसीही जीवन जीने में उनका मार्गदर्शन करे। हमने यह भी देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासियों को सीधे सिखाने के अतिरिक्त, पाँच प्रकार की वचन से सम्बन्धित सेवकाइयों के द्वारा भी परमेश्वर के वचन को सिखाता है; और इन सेवकों के द्वारा अपनी-अपनी सेवकाई को भली-भान्ति निभाने के लिए, परमेश्वर के वचन को चार भिन्न तरीकों से उपयोग करना चाहिए। आज हम मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में परमेश्वर के वचन के द्वारा होने वाले कुछ प्रभावों को देखेंगे, जब वचन को ठीक से ग्रहण किया जाता है और उचित रीती से उसका पालन किया जाता है, तब वह जीवनों में क्या परिवर्तन और आशीषें लाता है।

    सामान्यतः, मसीही विश्वासियों में, वचन को सीखना और उस पर मनन करना तो दूर, उनके द्वारा व्यक्तिगत रीति से परमेश्वर के वचन को नियमित और क्रमवार पढ़ने की बड़ी कमी देखी जाती है। इसका प्रमुख कारण है कि उन्होंने कभी इसके बारे में सीखा ही नहीं है, या उन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन को अपने जीवन में कार्यकारी होने देने के बारे में सिखाया नहीं गया है। वे केवल कुछ परम्पराएं निभाना और औपचारिकताएं पूरा करना ही जानते हैं। यद्यपि यह अपने आप में एक बड़ा विषय है, और सम्पूर्ण भजन 119 परमेश्वर के वचन ही के बारे में है; किन्तु आज हम इस भजन तथा यूहन्ना रचित सुसमाचार से केवल कुछ पद ही देखेंगे। जो लोग परमेश्वर के वचन के साथ उचित और पर्याप्त समय बिताने के महत्व और आवश्यकता को दिखाते हैं, और जो लोग परमेश्वर के वचन को आदर देते हैं, उसका पालन करते हैं, उनके जीवनों में वचन द्वारा क्या प्रभाव आते हैं।

• सबसे पहली बात, जिसका विश्वासियों को एहसास करना चाहिए और सदा ध्यान में रखना चाहिए, है कि परमेश्वर का सम्पूर्ण वचन सत्य और आवश्यक है “तेरा सारा वचन सत्य ही है; और तेरा एक-एक धर्ममय नियम सदा काल तक अटल है” (भजन 119:160)। उसमें से कुछ भाग चुन लेने और शेष को छोड़ देने का कोई औचित्य या अनुमति नहीं है। उसका, उसकी सम्पूर्णता में आदर एवं पालन किया जाना चाहिए।

• जो लोग ऐसा करते हैं, वे परमेश्वर की शान्ति और सुरक्षा की बड़ी आशीष पाते हैं, “तेरी व्यवस्था से प्रीति रखने वालों को बड़ी शान्ति होती है; और उन को कुछ ठोकर नहीं लगती” (भजन 119:165)।

• जब परमेश्वर का वचन व्यक्ति के मन में भरा रहता है, तो वह उसे सचेत रखता है और पाप करने से रोके रहता है, “जवान अपनी चाल को किस उपाय से शुद्ध रखे? तेरे वचन के अनुसार सावधान रहने से। मैं ने तेरे वचन को अपने हृदय में रख छोड़ा है, कि तेरे विरुद्ध पाप न करूं” (भजन 119:9, 11)। परमेश्वर का वचन, प्रभु के शिष्यों को शुद्ध करता है “तुम तो उस वचन के कारण जो मैं ने तुम से कहा है, शुद्ध हो” (यूहन्ना 15:3)।

• परमेश्वर के वचन पर निरन्तर मनन करते रहने का रवैया बनाए रखने से परमेश्वर के लोग बुद्धिमान और अपने विरोधियों से भी अधिक समझदार और ज्ञानवान बन जाते हैं “अहा! मैं तेरी व्यवस्था में कैसी प्रीति रखता हूं! दिन भर मेरा ध्यान उसी पर लगा रहता है। तू अपनी आज्ञाओं के द्वारा मुझे अपने शत्रुओं से अधिक बुद्धिमान करता है, क्योंकि वे सदा मेरे मन में रहती हैं। मैं अपने सब शिक्षकों से भी अधिक समझ रखता हूं, क्योंकि मेरा ध्यान तेरी चितौनियों पर लगा है। मैं पुरनियों से भी समझदार हूं, क्योंकि मैं तेरे उपदेशों को पकड़े हुए हूं” (भजन 119:97-100)।

• जिनके पास परमेश्वर का वचन रहता है और वे उसका पालन भी करते हैं, वे ही सच में प्रभु से प्रेम करने वाले होते हैं; और फिर प्रभु तथा पिता परमेश्वर भी उनसे प्रेम करते हैं, उसके साथ आ कर निवास करते हैं “जिस के पास मेरी आज्ञा है, और वह उन्हें मानता है, वही मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, और जो मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, उस से मेरा पिता प्रेम रखेगा, और मैं उस से प्रेम रखूंगा, और अपने आप को उस पर प्रगट करूंगा। यीशु ने उसको उत्तर दिया, यदि कोई मुझ से प्रेम रखे, तो वह मेरे वचन को मानेगा, और मेरा पिता उस से प्रेम रखेगा, और हम उसके पास आएंगे, और उसके साथ वास करेंगे” (यूहन्ना 14:21, 23)। जब कि परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन नहीं करना, इस बात का प्रमाण है कि वह व्यक्ति प्रभु से वास्तविक प्रेम नहीं करता है “जो मुझ से प्रेम नहीं रखता, वह मेरे वचन नहीं मानता, और जो वचन तुम सुनते हो, वह मेरा नहीं वरन पिता का है, जिसने मुझे भेजा” (यूहन्ना 14:24)।

• जो परमेश्वर के वचन को धीरज से थामे रहते हैं, वे सँसार पर आने वाली परीक्षा से सुरक्षित बने रहेंगे “तू ने मेरे धीरज के वचन को थामा है, इसलिये मैं भी तुझे परीक्षा के उस समय बचा रखूंगा, जो पृथ्वी पर रहने वालों के परखने के लिये सारे संसार पर आने वाला है” (प्रकाशितवाक्य 3:10)।

    इस प्रकार हम देखते हैं कि परमेश्वर ने मसीही विश्वासी के हाथों में एक महान आशीष, और सुरक्षित तथा सकुशल रहने की कुंजी प्रदान कर रखी है, यदि वे उसे पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, जो उन्हें इसी कार्य के लिए दिया गया है, सही तरीके से उपयोग करें। अगले लेख में हम तीसरी आशीष और प्रतिफल, प्रभु यीशु की समानता में ढलते जाना, को देखेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 12 

 

    While considering the teachings about the gospel, we have seen that the gospel is made effective through repentance and faith (Hebrews 4:2). Those who have truly repented and have accepted the gospel, they, the Christian Believers, the Born-Again children of God, then glorify God through their lives. For those who glorify God through their lives, i.e., for the Christian Believers who have voluntarily chosen to fully surrender himself to the Lord, live in obedience to Him and His Word, God has kept three very great blessings for their stepping out in faith to do God’s bidding. Firstly, what we have already seen is that God lives with him like a loving, doting Father.

    Secondly, the one we are presently considering, God, through His Word, wants to make them complete and thoroughly prepared for every good work; make them mature so that they cannot be deceived by the trickeries of men. Thirdly, God wants to bring them into the form and image of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. In the last article we have seen that God has given the Believers His Word, and His Holy Spirit to help them, to teach them the Word, and to guide the Believers in Christian living. We also saw that besides directly teaching the Christian Believers, the Holy Spirit also teaches God’s Word through the ministry of five kinds of ministers of God’s Word; and there are four ways in which God’s Word must be used by these ministers to fulfil their ministries. Today, we will see some of the effects of God’s Word in the Christian Believer’s life; when God’s Word is rightly received and properly obeyed, then what changes and blessings it brings.

    Amongst the Christians, generally speaking, there is a great lack of interest in personally reading God’s Word, regularly and systematically; let alone learning it, meditating upon it. The primary reason for this is that they have not learned, or have not been taught the importance and utility of allowing God’s Word to work in their lives; they only know about fulfilling rituals and some formalities. Although this is a vast subject by itself, and the whole of Psalm 119 is about God’s Word; but today, we will see only a few verses from this Psalm, and John’s gospel. These verses illustrate the importance and necessity of personally spending appropriate time with God’s Word; the effects God’s Word produces in the lives of those who honor and obey it.

• The first thing that the Believers should realize and always keep in mind is that all of God’s Word is true and necessary “The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever” (Psalm 119:160); there is no scope or permission for picking and choosing some parts and ignoring the rest. All of God’s Word must be honored and obeyed.

• Those who do so, are greatly blessed by God’s peace and care, “Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble” (Psalm 119:165).

• When God’s Word fills a person’s heart, it cautions him and keeps him from committing sin, “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!” (Psalm 119:9, 11). God’s word washes and cleanses His disciples “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you” (John 15:3).

• Having an attitude of meditating on God's Word continually makes God’s people wiser and more knowledgeable than their detractors and even the ancients, “Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep Your precepts.” (Psalm 119:97-100).

• Those who have God’s commandments and keep them too, are the ones who actually love the Lord; and they in turn are loved by the Lord and God the Father, and they come to reside with him “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:21, 23). Whereas, not obeying God’s Word is proof that the person does not really love the Lord “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me” (John 14:24).

• Those who obey the Lord’s command to persevere, will be kept safe in the trial coming upon the world “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth” (Revelation 3:10).

    So, we see how God has placed in the hands of the Christian Believers a great blessing, and the key to be safe and secure, provided they learn to use it properly, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, given to them for this purpose. In the next article we will take up the third blessing and reward, of conforming to the Lord Jesus.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हमने अभी तक 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 से एक सफल और आशीषित जीवन जीने के लिए जो कुछ सीखा है, उसी का पुनःअवलोकन कर रहे हैं। वर्तमान में हम यह पुनःअवलोकन कर रहे हैं कि प्रत्येक नया जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिए गए प्रावधानों का भण्डारी है, जिसमें परमेश्वर की पवित्र आत्मा भी सम्मिलित है। हमने देखा था कि यद्यपि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर की ओर से दिया गया शिक्षक है, कि उनको परमेश्वर का वचन सिखाए, लेकिन फिर भी अधिकांश विश्वासी उस से नहीं सीखते हैं; किन्तु मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं पर निर्भर करते हैं। आज हम इस पुनःअवलोकन को इस बात के साथ समाप्त करेंगे के पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी होने के नाते, विश्वासी को किस तरह से पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना है, और इससे संबंधित तीन बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बातों को हम ध्यान करेंगे कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से कैसे सीखा जाए।

परमेश्वर ने अपना वचन हमें इसलिए दिया है कि हम यत्न से उसका पालन करें (भजन 119:4)। जब हम परमेश्वर के वचन को पालन करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध होते हैं, तो वह स्वयं उसे हमें सिखाता है (भजन 119:102)। जब हम उसका पालन करते हैं तो वचन हमें पाप करने से रोकता है (भजन 119:9, 11), हमें परमेश्वर के मार्ग दिखाता है (भजन 119:105), और हमें बुद्धिमान बनाता है (भजन 119:98-100)। मूल आवश्यकता है, विश्वासी में परमेश्वर से सीखने की लालसा होनी चाहिए (भजन 25:4), फिर परमेश्वर अपना वचन पापियों को भी सिखाएगा यदि वे उसके सामने विनम्र हों (भजन 25:8-9)। परमेश्वर, अपने लोगों को, जैसे कार्य और ज़िम्मेदारियाँ उसने उनके लिए चुनी हैं, उसी के अनुसार उन्हें सिखाता है (भजन 25:12), अर्थात, उस सेवकाई के अनुसार जो उसने उनके लिए निर्धारित की है (इफिसियों 2:10)। संक्षेप में, परमेश्वर ने अपना वचन हमें इसलिए दिया है कि हम उसे सीखें, वह चाहता है कि हम उसके वचन को सीखें। और वह स्वयं हमें सिखाना भी चाहता है, अपनी प्रत्येक सँतान को व्यक्तिगत रीति से, अगर वो उस से सीखने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध, और पर्याप्त प्रयास करने वाले हों।

विश्वासी द्वारा परमेश्वर का वचन नहीं सीख पाना:

यद्यपि पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी में निवास करता है, फिर भी बहुधा विश्वासी उस से परमेश्वर का वचन सीखने नहीं पाते हैं। इसके मुख्यतः तीन कारण है:

• पहला, विश्वासी के द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन को पढ़ने और सीखने के लिए पर्याप्त समय नहीं देना। ऐसा विश्वासी का पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने, उस के निर्देशों को जानने और मानने के प्रति प्रतिबद्ध न होने के कारण होता है। क्योंकि उसकी प्राथमिकताएँ सँसार की बातों के बारे में सीखने, उनका निर्वाह करने, और भौतिक लाभ कमाने की होती हैं, इसलिए वह आत्मिक बातों तथा परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति लापरवाह होता है।

• दूसरा है विश्वासी में परमेश्वर के वचन के पर्याप्त भण्डार या संग्रह का न होना। पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासियों को व्यावहारिक रीति से सिखाता है, परिस्थिति के अनुसार उन्हें उन में विद्यमान परमेश्वर का वचन स्मरण करवाने के द्वारा, उन के अंदर से वचन को लेकर उसे उन के समक्ष लाने के द्वारा (यूहन्ना 14:26; 16:13-15)। किन्तु, यदि उपरोक्त कारणों से, विश्वासी के अंदर वचन का पर्याप्त भंडार अथवा संग्रह नहीं है, मात्रा और विभिन्नता, दोनों में ही, तो फिर पवित्र आत्मा के पास विश्वासी को स्मरण दिलाने या उसके समक्ष लाने के लिए पर्याप्त वचन उपलब्ध ही नहीं होगा।

• तीसरा है, विश्वासी सामान्यतः पवित्र आत्मा की शिक्षाओं के साथ उन्हें पहले मिली हुई मानवीय शिक्षाओं को, जिन पर वे भरोसा करते आए हैं, मिलाना चाहते हैं; अर्थात, वे परिशुद्ध और पूर्णतः सत्य के साथ त्रुटिपूर्ण और साँसारिक बातों की मिलावट वाली बातों को मिश्रित करना चाहते हैं; और पवित्र आत्मा कभी इस के साथ सहमत नहीं होगा। वह प्रतीक्षा करता है कि विश्वासी इस बात की मूर्खता को पहचानें, और केवल उसी पर निर्भर होने वाले बनें, न कि उसका और उसकी शिक्षाओं का उपयोग मनुष्यों और उन की बातों के साथ जोड़ने भर के लिए करें।

पवित्र आत्मा की शिक्षाओं के गुण:

• पहला, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा सत्य का आत्मा है (यूहन्ना 14:17; 15:26; 16:13); इसलिए वह जो भी कहेगा और करेगा उसमें कभी भी कुछ भी असत्य नहीं होगा, अर्थात कुछ भी ऐसा नहीं होगा जो बाइबल के अनुसार सही नहीं है। एक प्रकार का बहुधा देखा जाने वाला असत्य है बाइबल के शब्दों और वाक्यांशों को लेकर उन्हें ऐसे अर्थों और तात्पर्यों के साथ उपयोग करना जो बाइबल से बाहर के हैं, अर्थात उन्हें उन बातों के लिए उपयोग करना जो बाइबल में उनके लिए नहीं दी गई हैं।

• दूसरा, जैसा ऊपर कहा गया है, पवित्र आत्मा परिस्थिति के अनुसार व्यावहारिक शिक्षा प्रदान करता है, वह स्मरण दिलाकर जो प्रभु यीशु ने कहा है (यूहन्ना 14:26), और परिस्थिति के अनुसार, प्रभु के कहे हुए को लेकर समक्ष लाता है (यूहन्ना 16:13-15); किन्तु वह कभी भी अपनी ओर से कोई नई बात नहीं बोलता या सिखाता है। इसलिए ऐसी कोई भी शिक्षा जो बाइबल का सत्य नहीं है, जिस का लिखित उल्लेख बाइबल में नहीं किया गया है, लेकिन जो बाइबल के लिखे हुए में जोड़ी जा रही है, और जिस भी बात के अर्थ, अभिप्राय, और व्यवहारिक उपयोग जो पहले से लिख दिया गया है, उस से बाहर जा रहा है (1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6), वह पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से नहीं है। 

शिक्षाओं की पहचान करना कि वे बाइबल के अनुसार सही हैं अथवा नहीं:

हम यह कैसे पहचान तथा समझ सकते हैं कि जो प्रचार किया और सिखाया जा रहा है, वह बाइबल के अनुसार सही है अथवा नहीं?

• सबसे पहला काम जो करना अनिवार्य है वह है इस गलतफहमी से बाहर निकालना कि जो प्रचारक तथा शिक्षक जाने-माने और बहुत ख्याति प्राप्त हैं, जिनकी बहुत प्रशंसा और आदर होता है, जिनके बहुत अनुयायी हैं, वे कभी गलत नहीं हो सकते हैं; इसलिए उनकी कही हर बात पर अँध-विश्वास करते हुए, जो और जैसा उन्होंने कहा है, उसे वैसे ही स्वीकार कर के माना जा सकता है, बिना वचन से उसे जाँचे और उसकी पुष्टि किये हुए। यह अँध-विश्वास सर्वथा गलत धारणा है, बाइबल से सुसंगत नहीं है (प्रेरितों 17:11), और सही-गलत की पहचान में बहुत बड़ी बाधा है।

• दूसरी बात, दी जा रही प्रत्येक शिक्षा को जाँच के देखना चाहिए कि क्या वह जो वचन में पहले से लिखा गया है उस वचन से बाहर तो नहीं जा रही है (1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6)? यह करना मण्डली के लोगों की ज़िम्मेदारी है, तथा अगुवों की विशेष ज़िम्मेदारी है (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29)।

• तीसरा, उस शिक्षा के अर्थ, अभिप्राय, और व्यवहारिक उपयोगों को जाँच-परख कर देख लेना चाहिए कि वे बाइबल में भी ठीक वैसे ही लिखे और उपयोग किये गए हैं जैसा वह प्रचारक और शिक्षक उन के लिए कह रहा है। कहीं प्रचारक या शिक्षक बाइबल में लिखे हुए से भिन्न अर्थों, अभिप्रायों, और व्यावहारिक उपयोगों के साथ तो उन्हें नहीं सिखा रहा है? यदि वह ऐसा कर रहा है तो वह बाइबल के अनुसार सहीं नहीं है।

• और, चौथा, यह देखना चाहिए कि उस शिक्षा को बाइबल में भी उन्हीं अर्थों, अभिप्रायों, और व्यावहारिक उपयोगों के साथ उपयोग किया गया है, जैसा कि प्रचार किया और सिखाया जा रहा है? अर्थात, बाइबल में भी उस बात के उसी तरह से उपयोग किये जाने के उदाहरण दिए गए हैं कि नहीं? यदि उन अर्थों, अभिप्रायों, और व्यावहारिक उपयोगों के कोई लिखित उद्धरण नहीं हैं, तो वह बाइबल के अनुसार सही शिक्षा नहीं है, और उसे न तो स्वीकार करना चाहिए, और न ही उसका पालन करना चाहिए।

जिस भी शिक्षा में ये बातें नहीं हैं, वह बाइबल के अनुसार सही नहीं है, उस से बच कर रहना चाहिए, चाहे उसे बताने और सिखाने वाला कोई भी क्यों न हो, और वह चाहे कितनी भी आकर्षक, मनोहर, भक्तिपूर्ण, और तर्कसंगत क्यों न प्रतीत हो।

अगले लेख से हम मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर के प्रावधानों का योग्य भण्डारी होने की तीसरी ज़िम्मेदारी को देखना आरंभ करेंगे; अर्थात, उसके परमेश्वर की उस कलीसिया तथा मसीही विश्वासियों के परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों के प्रति भण्डारी होना, जहाँ पर परमेश्वर ने उसे रखा है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Recapitulation – 7

We are recapitulating what we have learnt from 1 Kings 2:2-4 so far, for living a blessed and successful life. Presently, we are recapitulating about every Born-Again Christian Believer being a steward of the provisions God has given to him, including God’s Holy Spirit, to reside in him. We had seen that though God the Holy Spirit is the Believer’s God given Teacher, to teach them God’s Word, but still, most Believers do not learn from Him, but rely upon men and their works. Today we will conclude this recapitulation about the Believer’s stewardship of God the Holy Spirit, by reminding ourselves about three very important things related to learning from God the Holy Spirit.

God has given us His Word so that we may diligently obey it (Psalm 119:4). As we commit ourselves to obey God’s Word, He Himself teaches it to us (Psalm 119:102). When we obey it, then it keeps us from sinning (Psalm 119:9, 11), shows us God’s ways, (Psalm 119:105), and makes us wise (Psalm 119:98-100). The basic requirement is a desire to learn from God (Psalm 25:4); then, God will teach His Word to even the sinners, if they humble themselves before Him (Psalm 25:8-9). God teaches His people according to the works and responsibilities He has chosen for them (Psalm 25:12), i.e., according to the ministry He has kept for them (Ephesians 2:10). To summarize, God has given us His Word so that we should learn it, He wants us to learn His Word, and He wants to teach it to us, individually and directly to each and every one of His children, provided they are willing to be committed to learning and to put in the requisite efforts for it.

The inability of a Believer to learn God’s Word:

Despite the Holy Spirit residing in him, often the Believer is unable to learn God’s Word from Him mainly because of three things:

• First, Believer’s lack of giving adequate time to read and study God’s Word. This usually is due to the Believer’s not being committed enough to follow and obey the instructions of the Holy Spirit, to learn from Him. Because his priorities are more towards learning about, managing and gaining, the things of the world, therefore, he neglects the Word of God and spiritual things.

• Second, is the lack of an adequate ‘stock’ or ‘reservoir’ of God’s Word available within the Believer. The Holy Spirit teaches the Believers practically, by bringing to their remembrance God’s Word that is present within them, taking the Word that is inside them and declaring it to them, as per the requirements of the situation (John 14:26; 16:13-15). But if due the reason stated above, there is not enough of the Word available in the Believer, in variety and quantity, the Holy Spirit will not have enough in hand to bring the appropriate Word to remembrance or declare it to the Believer.

• Third is that Believers often want to mix up and mingle man’s teachings that they have earlier received and have been relying upon, with the teachings given by the Holy Spirit to them; i.e., they want to mix up the impure with the pure, and the Holy Spirit will never be a party to that. He waits for the Believers to realize the folly of doing this, and rely only on Him, instead of using Him as something to tag along human teachings.

 The Characteristics of the Holy Spirit’s Teachings:

• Firstly, God the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13); therefore, in all that He says and does, there will never be anything that is not the truth, i.e., that is not Biblically true. One form of “non-truth” is using Biblical words and phrases with extra-Biblical meanings and uses; i.e., using them in a manner, and to convey meanings and things not mentioned in the Bible for them.

• Secondly, as stated above, the Holy Spirit teaches practically as per the situation, by reminding about what the Lord has said (John 14:26), and taking and declaring what the Lord has said (John 16:13-15) related to the situation at hand; but He never ever speaks anything new on His own authority. Therefore, any preaching or teaching that is not the Biblical truth, anything that is not already mentioned in the Bible in writing, but is being added to the Biblical text, and anything that in its meanings, implications, application is going beyond what has already been written (1 Corinthians 4:6), even if it is only in thinking, is not from the Holy Spirit. 

Discerning Teachings to be Biblically True or False:

How can we discern and understand whether what is being preached and taught is Biblical or not?

• The first thing to do is to come out of the assumption that the preachers and teachers who are well-reputed, are well-known and famous, are highly acclaimed, have a large following, they can never be wrong; therefore, whatever they say can be blindly believed upon and accepted as it is, without cross-checking from God’s Word. This kind of blind faith is a very wrong notion, is unBiblical (Acts 17:11), and is a big impediment in discerning right from wrong.

• Secondly, every teaching being given should be examined to see if it in any way is going beyond the written Word (1 Corinthians 4:6)? This is the responsibility of the Church congregation, especially of the Church Elders (1 Corinthians 14:29).

• Thirdly, the meanings, implications, and practical applications of that teaching should be checked out from the Scriptures, whether or not they have been written and taught in the Bible just the same as the preacher and teacher is stating them; or is the preacher saying something different from what actually has been written in the Bible?

• And fourthly, it should be checked whether that teaching has been used in the Bible with the meanings, implications, and applications as is being preached and taught? That is, are there any examples in the Bible of its use in the same way as is being preached and taught? If there are no written examples of this happening, then it is not a Biblically true teaching and it must not be accepted or followed.

Any teaching that does not fulfil these requirements is not Biblical, should not be accepted; no matter who it is who is preaching and teaching it; no matter how appealing, attractive, pious, and logical it may seem.

From the next article we will take up the third point of Believer’s stewardship, his being the steward of God’s Church and family of other Believers, where God has placed him.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर के पवित्र आत्मा, जो उन्हें उनके उद्धार पाने के क्षण से ही दे दिया जाता है, के भण्डारी होने के नाते, विश्वासियों को उस से सीखना है, न केवल परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल को, बल्कि परमेश्वर द्वारा विश्वासी को दिए गए अन्य सँसाधनों के बारे में भी, जिनमें स्वयं पवित्र आत्मा भी सम्मिलित है। पवित्र आत्मा, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उसका मसीही जीवन जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई का सही निर्वाह करने में उसका सहायक और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया गया है; क्योंकि वही परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रदान किया गया विश्वासी का सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक है। लेकिन जैसा हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है, वे लोग जो उनके जीवनों में पवित्र आत्मा की सेवकाई की अनदेखी करते हैं, और उसके योग्य भण्डारी होने के लिए उचित प्रयास नहीं करते हैं, वे मनुष्यों से परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने पर निर्भर होते हैं; और इसलिये वे अपने आप को झूठी शिक्षाओं तथा गलत सिद्धान्तों में फँसाने के खतरे में फँसाए रखते हैं। पिछले लेख से हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 से  पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के बारे में देखना आरंभ किया है, और पद 12 पर विचार कर रहे हैं। आज भी हम पद 12 पर विचार करना ज़ारी रखेंगे, पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के बारे में सीखने के लिए।

पौलुस, पद 12 के आरंभ में यह बल देकर कहता है कि विश्वासियों ने पवित्र आत्मा ‘पाया’ है; तात्पर्य यह कि न तो उन्होंने उसे अपने किसी कार्य के द्वारा कमाया है, और न ही अपनी किसी रीति से प्राप्त किया है; परमेश्वर का पवित्र आत्मा उन्हें दिया गया है। फिर पौलुस यह स्पष्ट करता है कि वह किस आत्मा के बारे में बात कर रहा है, “संसार की आत्मा नहीं, परन्तु वह आत्मा पाया है, जो परमेश्वर की ओर से है।” क्योंकि उसकी इस पत्री के पाठकों में पवित्र आत्मा निवास करता है, इस आधार पर पौलुस फिर एक दूसरी बात कहता है; ऐसी बात जिसे प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को समझना तथा अपने जीवन में लागू करना चाहिए। पौलुस की यह दूसरी बात है कि प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी से यह अपेक्षा रखी गई है कि परमेश्वर ने उन्हें जो कुछ मुफ्त में, अनुग्रहपूर्वक दिया है, वे उसके बारे में जानें और सीखें। उन से यह अपेक्षा कोई विकल्प नहीं है, वरन अनिवार्य है, उन में पवित्र आत्मा की उपस्थिति पर आधारित है। वह न केवल उनके लिए परमेश्वर के वचन का, वरन परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए प्रत्येक संसाधन का भी शिक्षक है। मसीही विश्वासी इस से अपने व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन के लिए कुछ महत्वपूर्ण पाठ सीख सकते हैं:

• परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई बातों को यूँ ही हलके में, लापरवाही के साथ नहीं लेना है; कोई भी विश्वासी उन बातों के बारे में अनुत्तरदायी या उदासीन नहीं हो सकता है। विश्वासियों को उनके बारे में सीखना है, उनकी देख-भाल करनी है, और उन्हें उचित रीति से उपयोग में लाना है; वे एक तरह से ‘सावधानी से व्यवहार करें’ वाली वस्तुएँ हैं। वे परमेश्वर द्वारा विश्वासियों को एक उद्देश्य से दी गई हैं, उन्हें व्यर्थ अथवा अनुपयोगी नहीं समझा जा सकता है। उन्हें प्रदान करने वाले की प्रतिष्ठा और हस्ती का आदर रखते हुए, उन्हें ऐसी रीति से उपयोग में लाना है कि उस से देने वाले, अर्थात परमेश्वर, को महिमा मिले। इसलिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि जो भी परमेश्वर ने उसे दिया है, वह उसके बारे में सीखे, यह जाने कि वह उसे क्यों दिया गया है, और समझे कि उसे दिए जाने के उद्देश्य को कैसे पूरा करना है, और उसके अनुसार अपने मसीही जीवन में तथा मसीही सेवकाई में उस वरदान को उचित रीति से उपयोग करे।

• क्योंकि, परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई बातों के बारे में जानने पर दिया गया बल, विश्वासी में पवित्र आत्मा की उपस्थिति पर आधारित है, और यह विशेष रीति से कहा गया है कि विश्वासियों को जो आत्मा दिया गया है वह सँसार का आत्मा नहीं है, इसलिए इस से यह तात्पर्य आता है कि कोई भी साँसारिक या मानवीय आत्मा इस कार्य, विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई बातों के बारे में सिखाना, को नहीं कर सकता है। इसलिए, परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए सँसाधनों के बारे में सीखने के लिए साँसारिक साधनों और तरीकों, या मनुष्यों पर भरोसा रखना, उन पर निर्भर रहना, न केवल व्यर्थ है, बल्कि परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति अविश्वासी होना भी है, क्योंकि वचन जिस का हो पाना संभव नहीं है कहता है, उसे ही करने के प्रयास करना है।

• क्योंकि प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में पवित्र आत्मा निवास करता है, इसलिए किसी भी ‘सँसार के आत्मा’ पर भरोसा रखने की बजाए, अर्थात पवित्र आत्मा के अतिरिक्त किसी भी अन्य पर निर्भर होने की बजाए, विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के वचन के मूल लेखक, पवित्र आत्मा से ही सीखना है, जो विश्वासी को परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया शिक्षक, सहायक, और मार्गदर्शक है। पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने की अनदेखी कर के, मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से सीखने के पीछे जाना, पवित्र आत्मा को नीचा दिखाना, परमेश्वर का अपमान करना, और उसका अनाज्ञाकारी होना है। यद्यपि बाइबल परमेश्वर के भक्त और समर्पित लोगों से सीखने को वर्जित नहीं करती है, क्योंकि यह परमेश्वर द्वारा स्थापित विधि ही है (2 तीमुथियुस 2:2); परन्तु जो वर्जित है वह मनुष्यों पर अन्ध-विश्वास करना है, मनुष्यों से सीखने को पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने से अधिक महत्व देना है। परमेश्वर की आज्ञा है कि मनुष्यों की हर एक बात को पहले वचन से जाँचा और परखा जाए, और वचन से सुसंगत होने पर ही उसे स्वीकार किया जाए (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21); चाहे वह बात बताने-सिखाने वाला कोई भी क्यों न हो। 

अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे, और पद 13 पर विचार आरंभ करेंगे।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 20

 

As stewards of God’s Holy Spirit, given at the moment of their salvation to every Christian Believer by God, the Believers must learn from Him, not only the Word of God, the Bible, but also about God’s other provisions to the Believer, including the Holy Spirit Himself. The Holy Spirit has been given to every Christian Believer to help and guide him in living his Christian life and fulfil his God given ministry; since He is their God given Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide. But, as we have seen in the previous articles, those who disregard the ministry of the Holy Spirit in their lives, and do not make the appropriate efforts to serve as His worthy stewards, tend to rely upon learning God’s Word from men; and thereby they become prone to falling into many false teachings and wrong doctrines. Since the last article, we have started considering learning from the Holy Spirit from 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, and are pondering over verse 12. Today too we will continue looking at verse 12, to learn about learning from the Holy Spirit.

At the beginning of verse 12 Paul asserts that the Believers have ‘received,’ i.e., by implication, they have not earned or acquired God’s Holy Spirit through any of their own efforts or methods; He has been given to them. Paul then makes clear what spirit he is talking about, “not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God.” Since the readers of his letter, the Christian Believers, have the Holy Spirit residing in them, Paul then makes a second assertion, one that every Christian Believer needs to understand and apply in his life. Paul’s second assertion is that “that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” In other words, it is expected from Christan Believers that they know, they learn about the things that God has freely given to them. This expectation is not an option, but is mandatory, is based on the presence of the Holy Spirit in them. He is not only their Teacher of God’s Word, but also of all the God given provisions in their lives. The Believers can draw some important lessons from this for their practical Christian living:

• Things given by God are not to be taken casually, nor treated lightly; no Believer can be careless or unconcerned about them. They should be learnt about, cared for, and appropriately utilized by the Believers, ‘handled with care’ so to say. They have been given to the Believers by God for a purpose, they cannot be taken for granted. In deference to the honor and stature of the person who has given them, they must be used in a manner that will glorify the giver, i.e., God. Hence it is essential that every Christian Believer learns about all that God has given him, learn why it has been given, learn how to fulfil that purpose, learn how to put that gift to good use in their Christian living, and for fulfilling their God given ministry.

• Because this assertion of knowing about the things given by God, has been made based on the presence of the Holy Spirit in the Believer, and it has been specifically pointed out that the Spirit given to them is not the spirit of the world, therefore, it implies that no worldly or human spirit can fulfil this function, of making known to the Believers about the things given to them by God. Hence, it is not only futile to try and learn about God’s provisions from worldly sources and means, from men; it is not only vain but is also disbelieving God’s Word, by attempting to do what the Word says cannot be done.

• Since every Believer has the Holy Spirit residing in him, therefore instead of relying on any ‘spirit of the world’ i.e., anything or anyone other than the Holy Spirit, the Believer must learn from Holy Spirit – the actual author of God’s Word, the Teacher, Helper, and Guide given by God to every Believer. To ignore learning from the Holy Spirit, and going after learning from men and their works, is demeaning the Holy Spirit, insulting God, being disobedient to Him. The Bible does not forbid learning from God’s committed and reverent people, rather this is God’s established method (2 Timothy 2:2). But what is forbidden is having a blind faith on persons, giving more importance to learning from men than to learning from the Holy Spirit. It is God’s command that everything being said and taught by men must first be examined and evaluated by God’s Word, and if found fully consistent with it, only then to accept it (Acts 17:11; 1 Corinthians 14:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:21), whoever the person stating it may be.

In the next article, we will carry on from here and take up verse 13 for consideration.

I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना – 10

 

    प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी, उद्धार पाने के क्षण से ही पवित्र-आत्मा का मन्दिर हो जाता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19), और उस मे, उसके उद्धार पाने के क्षण से ही परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा निवास करने लगता है। उसे पवित्र आत्मा परमेश्वर के द्वारा दिया जाता है, कि मसीही जीवन को जीने तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई ज़िम्मेदारियों को भली-भाँति निभाने में उसका सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक हो। पवित्र आत्मा का एक उद्देश्य है मसीही विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर का वचन, बाइबल को सिखाना (यूहन्ना 14:26)। इसलिये, परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिए गए पवित्र आत्मा तथा परमेश्वर के वचन के भण्डारी होने के नाते, प्रत्येक विश्वासी को पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में, और परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखना है। यद्यपि लगभग प्रत्येक विश्वासी चाहता है कि ऐसा हो, लेकिन दुःख की बात है कि वास्तव में बहुत ही कम मसीही विश्वासी, उसके लिए आवश्यक प्रयास के द्वारा, इस इच्छा को व्यावहारिक कार्य में परिवर्तित करते हैं। जिस प्रकार से मसीही जीवन एक लापरवाही से जिए जाने वाला आरामदेह जीवन नहीं है वरन उसमें यत्न से प्रयास करने पड़ते हैं; उसी प्रकार से पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने में भी न केवल यत्न से प्रयास, बल्कि साथ ही पवित्र आत्मा के प्रति एक अनुशासन, प्रतिबद्धता, और आज्ञाकारिता की आवश्यकता भी होती है। और क्योंकि अधिकाँश लोग यह करने के लिए तैयार नहीं होते हैं, इसलिए वे मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से सीखने का सरल मार्ग चुन लेते हैं, यह मानते हुए कि इस से भी बाइबल को उतनी ही अच्छे से सीखा जा सकेगा। क्योंकि कभी भी कोई भी मनुष्य बिना किसी त्रुटि का, अचूक, और सिद्ध नहीं होता है, इसलिए उनकी शिक्षाओं और रचनाओं में भी यही त्रुटियाँ, चूक, और असिद्धता बनी रहती है, और दिखती रहती है। इसलिए जो विश्वासी मनुष्यों तथा उनकी रचनाओं से सीखने पर निर्भर बने रहते हैं, वे अपने आप को झूठी शिक्षाओं और गलत सिद्धान्तों में फँसने के जोखिम में डाले रहते हैं।

    हमने यूहन्ना 14:26 और यूहन्ना 16:14-15 से देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा के सिखाने का तरीका है कि वह प्रभु के वचनों को विश्वासी को स्मरण करवाता है और उन्हीं वचनों में से लेकर उसे बताता है। इसलिए पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए तीन बातों की आवश्यकता होती है, और तीनों को पूरा करने के लिए विश्वासी की ओर से समय और प्रयास आवश्यक है। ये तीन बातें हैं:

• पहली, विश्वासी के अंदर परमेश्वर के वचन का संग्रह या भण्डार होना चाहिए, जिस में से लेकर पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी हुई बातों को याद दिलाएगा, और परिस्थिति के अनुसार उसे उपयुक्त वचन को लेकर बताएगा। इसलिए उसे परमेश्वर का वचन पढ़ते रहने और याद करने में समय बिताना चाहिए।

• दूसरा, विश्वासी को न केवल परमेश्वर के वचन को पढ़ने के लिए, बल्कि उसका अध्ययन भी करने के लिए उचित समय देना चाहिए। इसके लिए विश्वासी को परमेश्वर तथा उसके वचन को अपने जीवन में प्राथमिक स्थान देने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए, और पवित्र आत्मा के निर्देशों का पालन करने के लिए समर्पित एवं आज्ञाकारी भी रहना चाहिए।

• तीसरा, विश्वासियों को उन्हें मनुष्यों से मिली बाइबल से बाहर की शिक्षाओं को, जिन पर वे भरोसा करते आए हैं, पवित्र आत्मा से मिली शिक्षाओं के साथ मिलाना नहीं चाहिए। पवित्र आत्मा से मिलने वाली शिक्षाएँ हमेशा ही परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखे हुए के साथ पूर्णतः सहमत और संगत होंगी; जबकि मनुष्यों की शिक्षाओं में बाइबल के साथ असंगतियों और बाइबल से बाहर की व्याख्याओं को देखा जा सकता है।

    एक बार फिर, अधिकाँश विश्वासी इन तीन आवश्यकताओं को पूरा नहीं करने पाते हैं, और इसलिए पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने नहीं पाते हैं। पिछले कुछ लेखों में हमने इन तीनों बातों को कुछ विस्तार से देखा है। आज से हम वह देखना आरंभ करेंगे जो परमेश्वर का वचन सीखने के लिए विश्वासी को करना चाहिए, एक बार जब वह पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने का निर्णय ले लेता है, प्रतिबद्ध हो जाता है।

    परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने की इच्छा रखने वालों को पहला काम करना है अपने अंदर से साँसारिक रवैये और व्यवहार को निकाल कर परमेश्वर के वचन के ‘निर्मल आत्मिक दूध’ की लालसा रखनी है, “इसलिये सब प्रकार का बैर भाव और छल और कपट और डाह और बदनामी को दूर करके। नये जन्मे हुए बच्‍चों के समान निर्मल आत्मिक दूध की लालसा करो, ताकि उसके द्वारा उद्धार पाने के लिये बढ़ते जाओ” (1पतरस 2:1-2 )। हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:3 से देखा है कि “बैर भाव और छल और कपट और डाह और बदनामी” विश्वासी की अपरिपक्वता, उस के अभी भी बच्चा ही होने के चिह्न हैं। इन बातों का होना यह भी दिखाता है कि वह मसीही विश्वास की आधारभूत बातों, आरंभिक शिक्षाओं (इब्रानियों 6:1-2) से आगे नहीं बढ़ेगा, और उसे कुछ अधिक सिखाया नहीं जा सकता है। इसलिए, अधिक तथा बेहतर सीखने के लिए, विश्वासी को शरीर की इन बातों को अपने में से निकाल बाहर करना होगा।

    ध्यान दीजिए, पतरस यह नहीं लिख रहा है कि “परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना करो कि वह इन बातों को तुम्हारे जीवन में से निकाल दे” जैसा कि वे लोग जो बाइबल की बातों की बाइबल से बाहर की व्याख्या करते हैं, कहना और प्रार्थना करना सिखाते हैं। पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में लिखते हुए, पतरस यह करने की ज़िम्मेदारी मसीही विश्वासी पर ही रखता है; उन्हें ही प्रयास कर के इन बातों को निकाल बाहर करना है। 

    पौलुस ने अपने जीवन के उदाहरण से दिखाया कि यह कैसे करना है, “परन्तु मैं अपनी देह को मारता कूटता, और वश में लाता हूं; ऐसा न हो कि औरों को प्रचार कर के, मैं आप ही किसी रीति से निकम्मा ठहरूं” (1कुरिन्थियों 9:27)। पौलुस यहाँ यह नहीं कह रहा है कि वह परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना करता है कि वह उसकी देह को वश में लाए; वरन वह स्वयं इसे करता है। पौलुस ने यही बात तीमुथियुस को भी सिखाई, “तौभी परमेश्वर की पड़ी नेव बनी रहती है, और उस पर यह छाप लगी है, कि प्रभु अपनों को पहचानता है; और जो कोई प्रभु का नाम लेता है, वह अधर्म से बचा रहे। बड़े घर में न केवल सोने-चान्दी ही के, पर काठ और मिट्टी के बरतन भी होते हैं; कोई कोई आदर, और कोई कोई अनादर के लिये। यदि कोई अपने आप को इन से शुद्ध करेगा, तो वह आदर का बरतन, और पवित्र ठहरेगा; और स्‍वामी के काम आएगा, और हर भले काम के लिये तैयार होगा” (2 तीमुथियुस 2:19-21)। प्रमुख कर के ज़ोर दी गई बातों पर ध्यान दीजिए – परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षा यही है कि स्वयं विश्वासियों को ही यह कार्य करना है। बाइबल में कहीं ऐसा कोई उदाहरण नहीं है जहाँ परमेश्वर ने किसी से उसकी ज़िम्मेदारी को लेकर उसके लिए उसे पूरा कर के दिया है।

    परमेश्वर ने विश्वासियों को यह करने के लिए उपयुक्त सँसाधन दिए हैं, और उन्हें अपना पवित्र आत्मा दिया है कि उनकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करे। लेकिन वे अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी को वापस परमेश्वर को पकड़ा कर निश्चिंत होकर नहीं बैठ सकते हैं कि अब परमेश्वर इसे ले लेगा और इसे पूरा कर देगा। यदि परमेश्वर इस प्रकार की प्रार्थनाओं को स्वीकार कर के उन से उनके कार्य को ले ले, तो फिर उसका वचन त्रुटिपूर्ण हो जाएगा – वह कहता कुछ है, और कर के कुछ और ही देता है। साथ ही यह 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13 की प्रतिज्ञा को झूठा ठहरा देगा, तथा यह अभिप्राय देगा कि परमेश्वर सर्वज्ञानी, सिद्ध, और त्रुटि रहित नहीं है, क्योंकि उसने अपने बच्चे पर कुछ ऐसा आ लेने दिया जो उस बच्चे के सहने की क्षमता से बाहर है, और अब उस बच्चे को परेशानी छुड़ाने के लिए परमेश्वर को स्वयं इस काम को करना पड़ रहा है। इस प्रकार की गलत शिक्षाओं द्वारा बहकाया गया विश्वासी जितना अधिक समय बाइबल के बाहर की गढ़ी हुई धारणाओं में बना रहेगा, वह अपनी आशीषों की उतनी ही अधिक हानि उठाएगा, और पवित्र आत्मा से उतना ही कम सीखेगा और उन्नति करेगा।

    हम इसके बारे में अगले लेख में ज़ारी रखेंगे और उन्नति करने के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन रूपी निर्मल आत्मिक दूध की लालसा रखने के बारे में सीखेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 10

 

    Every Born-Again Christian Believer becomes the Temple of the Holy Spirit from the moment of salvation (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19), and has God the Holy Spirit residing in him since the moment of his salvation. The Holy Spirit is given to him by God, to be his Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide; to help him live his Christian life and be able to worthily fulfil his God assigned ministry. One of the purposes of the Holy Spirit is to teach the Believer the Word of God, the Bible (John 14:26). Therefore, as stewards of the God given Holy Spirit and of the Word of God, every Believer is to learn about the Holy Spirit and learn the Word of God. Though practically every Believer may desire for this to happen, but, sadly, hardly any Christian Believer actually puts in the requisite efforts to learn from Him and convert the desire into practical reality. Just as Christian life is not an easy-going life of casual living, but requires diligent efforts; similarly, learning from the Holy Spirit not only requires a diligent effort, but also a discipline, commitment, and obedience towards Him. Something, which people usually are unwilling to do. Therefore, they take the easy way out of assuming that they can equally well learn the Bible from men and their works. Since no man is ever inerrant, infallible, and perfect, therefore their teachings and works also carry this same tendency of being error prone, fallible, and imperfect; that keeps becoming evident now and then. Those Believers who rely on learning from men and their works therefore render themselves prone to falling into erroneous teachings and wrong doctrines.

    Earlier, we had seen from John 14:26 and John 16:14-15, the way the Holy Spirit teaches is by bringing the Lord’s Words to remembrance of the Believers, and taking those Words and declaring them to the Believers. Therefore, learning from the Holy Spirit requires three things, and fulfilling these three requires time and effort on the part of the Believer. These three things are:

• First, the Believer should have a ‘stock’ or repository of God’s Word in him, for the Holy Spirit to be able to bring things written in God’s Word to the Believer’s remembrance, to take them up from within him and declare them to him as per the situation. Therefore, he must spend time reading and memorizing God’s Word.

• Second, the Believer’s should give adequate time to not only just read, but also to study God’s Word. For this, the Believer must be committed to give God and His Word the priority in his life, and be surrendered to follow and obey the instructions of the Holy Spirit.

• Third, the Believers should not mix up man’s unBiblical teachings that they have received and have been relying upon, with the teachings given to them by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s teachings will always be completely consistent with what has been written in God’s Word; whereas man’s teachings might have inconsistencies and unBiblical interpretations.

    Once again, most Believers falter on these three requirements, and therefore are unable to learn from the Holy Spirit. In the previous few articles we have considered these three things in some detail. From today, we will start looking at what the Believer needs to do, once he commits himself to learning from the Holy Spirit, and decides to put in the required diligent effort.

    The first thing that those who want to learn from God the Holy Spirit need to do is get rid of their worldly attitude and behavior, and develop a sincere desire for ‘the pure milk of the Word of God’ “Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:1-2). We have seen from 1 Corinthians 3:3 that things like “malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and evil speaking” are all indicators of immaturity, of the Believer still being a child. The presence of these things also shows that he will not progress beyond the basics, i.e., the elementary principles of Christian Faith (Hebrews 6:1-2); hence, not much can be taught to him. Therefore, to learn more and better, the Believer has to take out from within him the tendencies of the flesh.

    Notice that Peter does not say “pray to God to remove these things from your life” as those who preach and teach unBiblical interpretations and applications of Biblical terms say and do. Writing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Peter puts the responsibility upon the Believers to do this; it is they who are to make efforts to lay these things aside. 

    Paul showed how to do this from his own life, “But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:27). Paul does not say here that he prays to God to discipline his body; rather it is he who does it. Paul taught the same to Timothy, “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity." But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” (2 Timothy 2:19-21). Take note of the emphasized portions – the teachings from God’s Word are that the Believers must do this themselves. There is no example in the Bible of God ever having taken over from someone to fulfil their responsibility for them.

    God has given Believers the necessary resources for it, and has given the Holy Spirit to help and guide them in doing this. But they cannot hand their responsibility back to God, and be content that now God will take it over and do it for them. If God were to answer such prayers and take over from them, then His Word will become erroneous – He has said one thing, and is willing to do another. It will falsify the promise of 1 Corinthians 10:13, and imply that God is not omniscient, perfect, and inerrant, since He has let something beyond His child’s capacity to come upon him, and therefore, now to deliver His child from troubles, God Himself must step in. The longer the misguided Believers carry on in their unBiblical assumptions, the more loss they will suffer of their blessings and the less they will learn and grow through the Holy Spirit.

    We will carry on about this in the next article, and learn about desiring the pure milk of the Word, to grow in our Christian lives.
