बाइबल में कलीसिया संबंधी रूपक - परमेश्वर के परिवार के सदस्य
हमने पिछले लेखों में मत्ती 16:18 से देखा है कि प्रभु स्वयं ही अपनी कलीसिया को, अपने मानकों और निर्धारित गुणों एवं प्रक्रिया के द्वारा बना रहा है; वही उसका स्वामी है, उसकी देखभाल कर रहा है; और वर्तमान में, उसकी कलीसिया निर्माणाधीन है। हम यह भी देख चुके हैं कि कलीसिया कोई भवन अथवा स्थान नहीं है, वरन ऐसे लोगों का समूह है जो प्रभु यीशु को जगत का एकमात्र उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करके, अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित कर चुके हैं, कि प्रभु की तथा उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता में जीवन बिताएँ; केवल इसी एकमात्र आधार पर प्रभु के साथ जुड़कर प्रभु की कलीसिया का अंग बने हैं। अन्य जो कोई भी किसी भी अन्य मान्यता, आधार या धारणा के अनुसार जुड़ने का प्रयास करता है, उसकी वास्तविकता को प्रकट करके प्रभु उसे अपनी कलीसिया से या तो बाहर निकाल देता है, या अभी उसकी पहचान करके जगत के अंत के समय की छंटनी में उसे बाहर निकाल दिया जाएगा। प्रभु यीशु बहुत बारीकी से हर एक बात का ध्यान रखते हुए स्वयं ही यह कार्य कर रहा है। प्रभु शैतान द्वारा पाप में गिराए और फँसाए गए, और परिणामस्वरूप परमेश्वर से संगति एवं सहभागिता से दूर हो गए लोगों को अपनी धार्मिकता के द्वारा धर्मी बनाकर, उन्हें ईश्वरीय धार्मिकता में लौटा लाकर, परमेश्वर की संगति एवं सहभागिता में बहाल कर रहा है (रोमियों 5 अध्याय पढ़िए), उन्हें अनन्तकाल के उनके स्वर्गीय निवास एवं कार्यों के लिए तैयार कर रहा है (यूहन्ना 14:3)।
प्रभु यीशु द्वारा कलीसिया में किए जा रहे इस धर्मी और पवित्र बनाए जाने तथा परमेश्वर की संगति एवं सहभागिता में बहाली के कार्य को, कलीसिया के लोगों के जीवनों में उसके उद्देश्यों एवं उनके परिणामों को, और उन के विभिन्न पहलुओं को हम उन विभिन्न रूपकों (metaphors) के द्वारा सीख और समझ सकते हैं, जो परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के नए नियम खंड में प्रभु के लोगों, उसकी कलीसिया के लिए प्रयोग किए गए हैं। ये रूपक हैं: प्रभु का परिवार या घराना; परमेश्वर का निवास-स्थान; मन्दिर या भवन; परमेश्वर की खेती; प्रभु की देह; प्रभु की दुल्हन; परमेश्वर की दाख की बारी, इत्यादि। प्रत्येक रूपक, प्रभु यीशु और पिता परमेश्वर के साथ एक सच्चे, समर्पित, आज्ञाकारी मसीही विश्वासी के संबंध, जीवन, और दायित्व के विभिन्न पहलुओं को दिखाता है। साथ ही प्रत्येक रूपक यह भी बिलकुल स्पष्ट और निश्चित कर देता है कि कोई भी व्यक्ति किसी भी प्रकार के किसी भी मानवीय प्रयोजन, कार्य, धारणा आदि के द्वारा परमेश्वर की कलीसिया का सदस्य बन ही नहीं सकता है; वह चाहे कितने भी और कैसे भी प्रयास क्यों न कर ले। अगर व्यक्ति प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया का सदस्य होगा, तो वह केवल प्रभु की इच्छा, उसके माप-दंडों के आधार पर, उसकी स्वीकृति से होगा, अन्यथा कोई चाहे कुछ भी कहता रहे, वह वास्तविकता में प्रभु की कलीसिया का सदस्य हो ही नहीं सकता है, और न कभी होने पाएगा। और यदि वह अपने आप को समझता या कहता भी है, तो उसकी वास्तविकता देर-सवेर प्रकट हो जाएगी, और वह अनन्त विनाश के लिए पृथक कर दिया जाएगा। इसलिए अपने आप को मसीही विश्वासी कहने वाले प्रत्येक जन के लिए अभी समय और अवसर है कि अपनी वास्तविक स्थिति को भली-भांति जाँच-परख कर, उचित कदम उठा ले और प्रभु के साथ अपने संबंध ठीक कर ले।
इन रूपकों में होकर हम उसकी कलीसिया के लिए प्रभु के प्रयोजन एवं उद्देश्यों को समझने का प्रयास करेंगे। इन रूपकों को किसी विशेष क्रम में नहीं लिया अथवा रखा गया है, सभी रूपक समान ही महत्वपूर्ण हैं, सभी में मसीही जीवन से संबंधित कुछ आवश्यक शिक्षाएं हैं। हम इन रूपकों के एक के बाद एक देखते हैं:
(1) प्रभु का परिवार:
प्रभु यीशु ने, और परमेश्वर पिता तथा पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रभु के लोगों को, उसकी कलीसिया को, प्रभु का परिवार कहा है। इस संदर्भ में बाइबल के कुछ पद देखिए:
प्रभु यीशु ने कहा: “और कौन है मेरे भाई? और अपने चेलों की ओर अपना हाथ बढ़ा कर कहा; देखो, मेरी माता और मेरे भाई ये हैं। क्योंकि जो कोई मेरे स्वर्गीय पिता की इच्छा पर चले, वही मेरा भाई और बहिन और माता है” (मत्ती 12:49-50)।
परमेश्वर पिता कहता है: “इसलिये प्रभु कहता है, कि उन के बीच में से निकलो और अलग रहो; और अशुद्ध वस्तु को मत छूओ, तो मैं तुम्हें ग्रहण करूंगा। और तुम्हारा पिता होऊंगा, और तुम मेरे बेटे और बेटियां होगे: यह सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु परमेश्वर का वचन है” (2 कुरिन्थियों 6:17-18)।
परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने लिखवाया:
“परन्तु जितनों ने उसे ग्रहण किया, उसने उन्हें परमेश्वर के सन्तान होने का अधिकार दिया, अर्थात उन्हें जो उसके नाम पर विश्वास रखते हैं” (यूहन्ना 1:12)।
“आत्मा आप ही हमारी आत्मा के साथ गवाही देता है, कि हम परमेश्वर की सन्तान हैं। और यदि सन्तान हैं, तो वारिस भी, वरन परमेश्वर के वारिस और मसीह के संगी वारिस हैं, जब कि हम उसके साथ दुख उठाएं कि उसके साथ महिमा भी पाएं” (रोमियों 8:16-17)।
“इसलिये तुम अब विदेशी और मुसाफिर नहीं रहे, परन्तु पवित्र लोगों के संगी स्वदेशी और परमेश्वर के घराने के हो गए” (इफिसियों 2:19)।
उपरोक्त पदों से हम सीखते हैं कि प्रभु की कलीसिया के सदस्य होने का एक परिणाम है कि मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर की संतान, उसके परिवार के अंग भी बन जाते हैं। उन्हें यह आदर उनके किसी कार्य अथवा योग्यता के आधार पर नहीं, वरन केवल उनके द्वारा किए गए पापों से पश्चाताप, और प्रभु पर विश्वास के कारण उन्हें परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रदान किया जाता है (यूहन्ना 1:12; इफिसियों 2:19)। परमेश्वर की संतान बनने पर यह मसीही विश्वासी का कर्तव्य है कि वह संसार की अशुद्धता से अपने आप को पृथक रखे; और परमेश्वर उनसे एक पिता के समान (2 कुरिन्थियों 6:17-18); तथा प्रभु यीशु अपने परिवार के सदस्यों के समान (मत्ती 12:49-50) उससे व्यवहार करता है।
प्रकट है कि कोई भी अपने आप को तब तक परमेश्वर की संतान, प्रभु के परिवार का सदस्य नहीं बना सकता है, जब तक परमेश्वर स्वयं उसे यह आदर प्रदान न करे। किसी भी मानवीय योजना अथवा विधि से यह कर पाना संभव नहीं है। इस प्रकार से परमेश्वर की संतान होने के इस रूपक से हम कलीसिया के लिए परमेश्वर के प्रयोजन, उसके उद्देश्य के विषय क्या सीखते हैं? थोड़ा थम कर, रोमियों 8:16-17 पर कुछ ध्यान से विचार, और इसके निहितार्थ पर गंभीरता से मनन कीजिए। क्या आप कभी कल्पना भी कर सकते हैं कि परमेश्वर आपको आपकी किसी भी योग्यता, गुण, अथवा कार्य के लिए मसीह यीशु का संगी वारिस, उसकी महिमा का संभागी बना सकता है? किन्तु आपके द्वारा अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर विश्वास करने और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित करने के द्वारा परमेश्वर आपको कैसा अद्भुत, कल्पना से भी कहीं बढ़कर आदर देना चाहता है - आपको, अर्थात, उसकी कलीसिया के सदस्य को, अपने स्वर्गीय राज्य में मसीह यीशु का संगी वारिस और मसीह की महिमा का संभागी बनाना चाहता है।
यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं तो आपके अपने आप को जाँचने के लिए कुछ बातें इस रूपक से सामने आती हैं: क्या आप परमेश्वर की संतान, उसकी कलीसिया के सदस्य, पापों से पश्चाताप और प्रभु में विश्वास के द्वारा बने हैं; या किसी अन्य मानवीय प्रक्रिया के निर्वाह अथवा आधार पर अपने आप को प्रभु की कलीसिया का सदस्य समझते हैं? परमेश्वर की संतान होने के नाते क्या आप स्वर्गीय पिता परमेश्वर की इच्छा पर चलते हैं? क्या आप ने अपने आप को संसार और संसार की बातों से पृथक किया है? परमेश्वर के घराने का व्यक्ति होने के नाते आपको अपने दायित्वों का निर्वाह करना भी अनिवार्य है, अन्यथा संसार के लोगों के समान आपका जीवन और व्यवहार आपके वास्तविक मसीही विश्वासी होने पर एक बड़ा प्रश्न चिह्न लगाता है, तथा आपके स्वर्गीय प्रतिफलों के लिए बहुत हानिकारक होगा।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Biblical Metaphors for the Church – Member of God’s Family
We have seen in the previous articles from Matthew 16:18 that the Lord Jesus is Himself building His Church, according to His standards and criteria; He alone is its owner; He cares for it and looks after it; and presently the Church is “Under Construction.” We have also seen the Church is not a building, or a place of worship, or any organization or Institution. Rather, the Church is the group of people who have truly accepted the Lord Jesus as the one and only savior of the world and themselves, have fully submitted their lives to Him to live in obedience to Him and His Word; they have all been joined together on the basis of this one criterion. Whoever, on the basis of any other concept, basis, or criteria tries to join the Church on his own, the Lord Jesus exposes him and removes him from His Church, or will eventually cast him out at the end time separation. The Lord Jesus is very carefully evaluating people and building His Church. The Lord is restoring the people fallen into sin and alienated from God by Satan, back into the fellowship with God, through His righteousness imputed to them (please read Romans 5), and is preparing them for their eternal heavenly residence and works (John 14:3).
The work of the Lord Jesus to make His people holy and righteous and restore them into fellowship with God; the purpose, works, and their results of the people of the Lord’s Church; and the various aspects of the Lord’s Church can be better understood through the various metaphors used in God’s Word for the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. These metaphors are: the family of the Lord; the dwelling place of God; Temple or House of God; the field of the God; The Body of the Lord; the Bride of the Lord; the vineyard of God, etc. Every metaphor shows different aspects of the relationship of a truly surrendered and committed Christian Believer with the Lord Jesus and God, and the related aspects of the Believer’s life and responsibilities. Also, every metaphor also makes it very clear and evident that no person can become a member of the Lord’s Church through any human works, criteria, notions etc., no matter who he may be or how much he may try to join the Lord’s Church. If anyone joins the Church of the Lord, it will only be according to the will, standards, criteria, and acceptance by the Lord. Other than this anyone may keep saying, doing, and claiming whatever they may, he will never actually be or become a member of the Lord’s Church. Even if he considers and claims his being a member, sooner or later his actual state will be exposed, and he will be separated out for eternal destruction. Therefore, for everyone who claims himself to be a Christian Believer, now is the time and opportunity to examine and evaluate their relationship with the Lord and its basis, and if there is any doubt, then have it rectified and come into the right relationship with the Lord.
Through these metaphors we will try to understand the purposes and works of the Lord Jesus for His Church. In our considerations here, these metaphors have not been placed or taken up in any particular order; every metaphor is as important as any other, and every one of them brings forth some teaching or the other about the Christian Believer’s life. Let us consider these metaphors one by one:
(1) The Family of God
The Lord Jesus Christ, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit have called the people of the Lord, His Church, members of the family of the Lord God. Consider some related verses from the Bible:
The Lord Jesus said: “And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother."” (Matthew 12:49-50).
God the Father says: “Therefore Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:17-18).
God the Holy Spirit had it written:
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).
“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17).
“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19).
From these verses, we learn that one of the results of being a member of the Lord’s Church is that the Christian Believer becomes a child of God and a member of God’s family. This honor is bestowed upon them by God, not because they have done anything or because of any of their abilities, but because they have repented of their sins and accepted the Lord Jesus as their Savior and Lord (John 1:12; Ephesians 2:19). Having become a child of God, it is the Christian Believer’s responsibility to keep himself away from mixing with and the defilement of the world, and then God treats them as a Father (2 Corinthians 6:17-18), and the Lord Jesus accepts them as members of His family (Matthew 12:49-50).
It is evident that no one can make himself a child of God, a member of the family of the Lord Jesus, unless God Himself accords this status to him. It is not possible to attain this status by any human method or plan. So, what do we learn about the purpose and work of God through this metaphor of being a child of God? Stop for a while and ponder deeply over Romans 8:16-17, and its implications. Can you even imagine that God, because of any of your abilities, characteristics, or works could have made you a joint heir with Christ and let you share His glory? But because of your repenting of sins, accepting the Lord Jesus as your Savior and Lord, surrendering your life to Him, God is now giving you this wonderful and exalted status way beyond even your wildest imagination - God wants to make you, i.e., a member of His Church, a joint heir with Christ and let you share His glory in heaven.
If you are a Christian Believer, then this metaphor puts forth some things for you to examine yourself: have you become a child of God, a member of His Church because of repenting of your sins, accepting Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior, surrendering your life to Him to live in obedience to Him and His Word? Or, is it that because of having fulfilled certain rites, rituals and ceremonies you are assuming yourself to be an actual member of the Lord’s Church? Have you separated yourself away from the things and defilements of this world? Being members of the household of God, it is necessary for you to fulfill your God-given responsibilities; else your life and behavior similar to any other person of the world will not only bring a big question mark on your actually being a Christian Believer, but will also be very harmful to your eternal heavenly rewards.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
