कलीसिया का निर्माण – समीक्षा

 

कलीसिया का उद्देश्य 

इस से पिछले समीक्षा-लेख में हमने देखा था कि प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर की कलीसिया और परमेश्वर की सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता रखने के बारे में सीखना क्यों आवश्यक है। क्योंकि यह हमें परमेश्वर के द्वारा सौंपा गया भण्डारीपन है, और हमें योग्य रीति से इसका निर्वाह करना है, क्योंकि अन्ततः हमें इसका हिसाब उसे देना ही होगा। हम कलीसिया के बारे में मत्ती 16:18 से सीख रहे हैं, जहाँ पर शब्द “कलीसिया” बाइबल में पहली बार उपयोग किया गया है। हमने पिछले लेखों में, तथा समीक्षा लेख में भी देखा है कि प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी कलीसिया के किसी भी पक्ष को अपने अतिरिक्त किसी अन्य के हाथों में कदापि नहीं छोड़ा है। और यह इस बात का सूचक है कि कलीसिया उसके हृदय के कितने निकट है, उसके लिए कितनी महत्वपूर्ण है। यह तथ्य सर्वोच्च महत्व का है, और आज, कलीसिया के उद्देश्य के द्वारा हम देखेंगे कि ऐसा क्यों है। फिर इसके बाद के लेखों में, हमने जो कलीसिया के बारे में अब तक जो सीखा है, उसके व्यावहारिक निहितार्थों के द्वारा, हम सीखेंगे कि हमें कलीसिया में किस प्रकार रहना और व्यवहार करना चाहिए।

इस कलीसिया को बनाने का, हम मनुष्यों को अपने साथ इतनी बारीकी से जाँच-परख कर (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:13-15), जोड़ने के पीछे, प्रभु यीशु का क्या उद्देश्य है, क्या उपक्रम है? इसे समझने के लिए हमें सृष्टि के आरंभ के समय में, अदन की वाटिका में घटित हुई पहले पाप की घटना पर जाना पड़ेगा, जब शैतान ने हव्वा को बहका कर आदम और हव्वा से परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता करवाई। इससे पाप को सृष्टि में प्रवेश मिल गया, और पाप के दुष्प्रभावों ने सारी सृष्टि को बिगाड़ दिया (रोमियों 8:19-22)। इस दुखद घटना से पूर्व, मनुष्य निष्पाप दशा में परमेश्वर के साथ संगति और सहभागिता रखता था, जो पाप के कारण टूट गई। मनुष्य के साथ इसी संगति और सहभागिता को पुनः स्थापित करने, शैतान द्वारा मनुष्यों में बोए गए पाप के ‘बीज’ को निकाल बाहर करने, और मनुष्य को उसका वह आदर और स्थान (रोमियों 8:15-17; 1 कुरिन्थियों 6:2-3) बहाल करने के लिए जो परमेश्वर ने उसकी रचना करने के समय उसे दिया था (उत्पत्ति 1:28), प्रभु परमेश्वर अपने लोगों को उस बहाल की गई स्थिति में अपने साथ रहने के लिए एकत्रित कर रहा है (इफिसियों 5:25-27)। 

इसीलिए वह इतनी बारीकी से देखभाल कर, स्वयं ही इस पूरी प्रक्रिया को पूरा कर रहा है, जिससे फिर से विनाश फैलाने के लिये शैतान का कोई अंश भी उसमें न रह जाए। इसीलिए, वह हमारे चरित्र, व्यवहार, और परस्पर संगति में सँसार, मनुष्यों, और शैतान की बातों के किसी भी अंश और आदतों  को नहीं, वरन् केवल अपने और अपने वचन की बातों को देखना चाहता है। और, विश्वासी का केवल प्रभु और उसके वचन में, न कि किसी मनुष्य की गढ़ी हुई बातों में बने रहना (1 यूहन्ना 2:3-6); मनुष्यों को नहीं वरन केवल प्रभु ही को प्रसन्न करने का जीवन जीना (गलतियों 1:10), ही इस बात का प्रमाण है कि वह प्रभु द्वारा उसे बेदाग और बेझुर्री किए जाने का पालन, वास्तविकता में कर रहा है।

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो एक बार फिर आप से आग्रह है कि अभी समय रहते अपनी वास्तविक स्थिति को जाँच-समझ लें। किसी भी परिवार विशेष में जन्म लेने, किसी भी डिनॉमिनेशन के नियम, रीतियाँ, प्रथाएं, और त्यौहार-व्यवहार आदि का निर्वाह करने, अपने परिवार के लोगों के कितनी भी पीढ़ियों से मसीही या ईसाई होने या अभी वर्तमान में भी किसी मसीही सेवकाई में लगे होने, आदि बातों के द्वारा कोई भी प्रभु की कलीसिया का अंग नहीं बनता है। यह केवल व्यक्तिगत रीति से, समझते-बूझते हुए, अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करने और यीशु को प्रभु स्वीकार करके अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित कर देने, और फिर केवल उसी की आज्ञाकारिता में जीवन जीने से होता है (प्रेरितों 17:30-31; रोमियों 10:9-10)। यदि आप को अपने नया-जन्म पाए हुए होने के विषय जरा सा भी संदेह है, तो आपसे विनम्र निवेदन है कि अभी इस कार्य को कर लें, कदापि कोई आनाकानी न करें, इस निर्णय को टालें नहीं।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Purpose of the Church

In the previous review-article we have seen why it is necessary for every Born-Again Christian Believer to learn about the Church of God and about fellowshipping with God’s children. Because, it is a stewardship entrusted to us by God, and we have to fulfil it worthily, since eventually we will have to give an account of it to Him. We have been learning about the Church from the Lord Jesus’s statement in Matthew 16:18, where the word “Church” has been used in the Bible for the first time. We have seen in the previous articles, as well as the review article, that the Lord Jesus has not in the least, left any aspect of His Church, in the hands of anyone other than Himself. This shows how important and dear to His heart the Church is. This fact is of paramount importance, and today, through the purpose of the Church, we will see why this is so. Then, in the subsequent articles, based on what we have learnt about the Church so far, we will see the practical implications, i.e., how we need to live and behave in the Church.

What is the purpose of the Lord in building His Church, and in so minutely examining us (1 Corinthians 3:13-15), before joining us to His Church? To understand this, we need to go back to the first sin committed in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve, beguiled by Satan, disobeyed God. This opened the way for sin to enter into creation, and sin’s harmful effects spread into and spoiled the whole of creation (Romans 8:19-22). Before this sad and painful event, man had an open, unbroken fellowship with God, which was broken by sin. Since then, God is engaged in the process of restoring back this fellowship with man, to remove the seeds of sin sown by Satan in the lives of men, and to give back to man the place and position (Romans 8:15-17; 1 Corinthians 6:2-3) He had given to him at the time of his creation (Genesis 1:28), and gather man to be with Him in that fully restored status (Ephesians 6:25-27). 

That is why He is so minutely managing and carrying out this whole process, all by Himself, so that nothing of Satan has any chance of remaining behind to once again ruin things. That is why, in our character, behavior, and mutual fellowship, He does not want to see anything whatsoever of the world, man, and Satan; but only the things which are of Him and His Word. And, a Believer’s abiding only in the Lord and His Word, not in anything made-up or created by man (1 John 2:3-6); living to only be a God pleaser, not a man-pleaser (Galatians 1:10), are the evidences that he actually is obeying the Lord’s making him without any spot or wrinkle.

If you are a Christian Believer, then once again it is our humble but ardent request that you earnestly examine and ensure your actual status with the Lord, now while you have the time and opportunity. By being born in a particular family, or by following and fulfilling the rules, regulations, rites, rituals, feasts, festivals, and ceremonies of any sect or denomination, or because of any number of one’s previous generations being ‘Christians’ in the past does not make anyone a person of the Lord and a member of His Church. This only happens by a person’s taking a willing, conscious decision to repent of one’s sins, ask Him for forgiveness of sins, accept the Lord Jesus as savior and Lord, fully surrender and commit one’s life to Him, to live in obedience to Him and His Word (Acts 17:30-31; Romans 10:9-10). If you have any doubts whatsoever about your being Born-Again, then please get them clarified and settled now; please do not ignore, delay, or postpone doing so.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमने पौलुस के जीवन और सेवकाई से संबंधित आधारभूत सिद्धान्तों को देखा था, उन्हीं सिद्धान्तों को पौलुस वचन के साथ उसके व्यवहार पर भी लागू करता था। आज से हम उसके द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन से किए जाने वाले व्यवहार के कुछ विशिष्ट उदाहरणों को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे। हम उसके रवैये, उसके द्वारा रखी जाने वाले सावधानियाँ और वह किन बातों का ध्यान रखता था, आदि पर ध्यान करेंगे। उसे तब उपलब्ध पवित्र शास्त्र, केवल पुराने नियम ही के लेखों और शिक्षाओं के प्रति ही नहीं, बल्कि जो सन्देश परमेश्वर उस औरों को देने, प्रचार करने, सिखाने, पत्री लिखने आदि के लिए देता था; उनके बारे में भी उसका क्या व्यवहार था, हम उसे देखेंगे। इस सन्दर्भ में हमें एक सिद्धान्त का ध्यान रखना भी आवश्यक है, जिस सिद्धान्त को परमेश्वर अपने वचन, अपने सन्देश को, किसी के द्वारा औरों को दिए जाने के बारे में, अपने संदेशवाहकों के प्रति उपयोग करता है। परमेश्वर अपनी बात में बहुत विशिष्ट रहता है; वह इधर-उधर की बातें नहीं करता है, और प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को उसकी सेवकाई के अनुसार ही आगे पहुंचाने के लिए सन्देश देता है (रोमियों 12:6-8)।

नए नियम का एक बड़ा भाग वे पत्रियाँ हैं जो कुछ कलीसियाओं को या कुछ लोगों को लिखी गई थीं। इनमें से अधिकांश पत्रियाँ पौलुस द्वारा लिखी गई थीं। एक आम धारणा के विपरीत, प्रभु यीशु के शिष्यों या पौलुस के द्वारा विभिन्न कलीसियाओं और लोगों को केवल यही पत्रियाँ ही नहीं लिखी गई थीं; नि:सन्देह, इनके अलावा, पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा द्वारा और भी पत्रियाँ लिखी गई थीं। जब वे लिखी जा रही थीं, तब कोई नहीं जानता था कि इन में से कुछ पत्रियाँ, और किसी को नहीं पता था कौन सी पत्रियाँ, आगे चलकर संकलित की जाएंगी, और स्वर्ग में अनन्तकाल के लिए स्थापित (भजन 119:89) परमेश्वर के वचन का भाग बन जाएँगी। लेकिन चाहे वे पौलुस द्वारा लिखी गई हों या किसी अन्य शिष्य के द्वारा; चाहे उन्हें पवित्रशास्त्र का भाग बनना था या नहीं बनना था; परन्तु पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा से लिखी गई सभी पत्रियों का मुख्य उद्देश्य था मसीही जीवन के सही सिद्धांतों और व्यवहार को सिखाना। और साथ ही उन भ्रांतियों और गलतियों को सुधारना और समझाना जो कलीसियाओं में और मसीही विश्वासियों के जीवनों में घुस आई थीं। इसलिए उन पत्रियों के लेखकों पर यह बाध्य था कि वे जो कुछ भी लिखें, वह वास्तव में परमेश्वर का दिया हुआ वचन ही हो, न कि कलीसिया के, अथवा किसी मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन से संबंधित किसी बात के विषय उनकी अपनी कोई समझ, धारणा, या कल्पना हो।

कुरिन्थुस की कलीसिया के नाम पौलुस की पत्रियाँ, उन में तथा वहाँ के कई मसीही विश्वासियों के जीवनों घुस आई कुछ बहुत गंभीर गलतियों को दिखाने और उन्हें सही करने के लिए लिखी गई थीं। उसकी लिखी पहली पत्री के पहले अध्याय में, हमारे विषय के सन्दर्भ में, पौलुस उन आरंभिक सिद्धान्तों का उल्लेख करता है, जिन से आरम्भ कर के, हम आने वाले दिनों में, कुछ विशिष्ट उदाहरणों को देखेंगे। पौलुस, पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में लिखता है, “क्योंकि मसीह ने मुझे बपतिस्मा देने को नहीं, वरन सुसमाचार सुनाने को भेजा है, और यह भी शब्दों के ज्ञान के अनुसार नहीं, ऐसा न हो कि मसीह का क्रूस व्यर्थ ठहरे” (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:17)। यद्यपि इस पद में व्याख्या करने के लिए बहुत कुछ है, किन्तु हम अपने आप को अपने विषय तक ही सीमित रखेंगे – “परमेश्वर के वचन के साथ व्यवहार करना।”  पौलुस यहाँ पर, मसीह के द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई के बारे में तीन बातें कहता है: पहली, उसे बपतिस्मा देने के लिए नहीं भेजा गया था; दूसरी, उसे सुसमाचार प्रचार करने के लिए भेजा गया था; और तीसरी उसका प्रचार “शब्दों के ज्ञान के अनुसार नहीं” था, और यह करने का कारण भी वह बताता है, “ऐसा न हो कि मसीह का क्रूस व्यर्थ ठहरे।”

यदि हम इस अध्याय के इससे पहले के पदों, पद 12 से इस पद तक, को देखें, तो पौलुस के यह कहने का अभिप्राय स्पष्ट हो जाता है। कुरिन्थुस की कलीसिया की स्थापना, उनके मध्य पौलुस द्वारा लगभग डेढ़ वर्ष तक की गई सेवकाई का परिणाम था (प्रेरितों 18:1-11)। और अब पौलुस को यह पता चला था कि कुरिन्थुस की कलीसिया में बहुत सारी गलतियाँ घुस आई हैं। पौलुस उनमें पाई जाने वाली गलतियों से व्यवहार का आरम्भ, उनमें देखी जाने वाली गुट-बाज़ी, विभाजनों से करता है। उनमें यह विभाजन उनके मध्य काम करने वाले मसीही अगुवों का अनुसरण करने पर आधारित था। और इस विभाजन के लिए एक आधार यह भी था, कि किस अगुवे ने किसे बपतिस्मा दिया था। पौलुस, तुरंत, सीधे ही, कलीसिया में प्रभु का अनुसरण करने की बजाए मनुष्यों का अनुसरण करने तथा मंडली में विभाजन लाने की इन प्रवृत्तियों की निन्दा और उन्हें दबाने के द्वारा इस प्रवृत्ति को सही करता है। 

पौलुस उन्हें स्पष्ट कहता है कि मसीह ने उसे उनके मध्य में किस लिए भेजा था। पौलुस द्वारा इस पद में बपतिस्मे के बारे में कहे गए कथन से उद्धार तथा बपतिस्मे में संबंध के बारे में बहुत कुछ देखा और समझा जा सकता है, लेकिन यह हमारा विषय नहीं है। हमारे विषय के लिए, हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 1:17 के इस आरंभिक भाग से जो सीख और समझ सकते हैं, वह है, जो लोग परमेश्वर के वचन को बांटने, प्रचार करने, सिखाने की सेवकाई में लगे हैं, उन को परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें सौंपी गई सेवकाई के बारे में पता होना चाहिए, उन्हें उसका ध्यान रखना चाहिए, और उसे पूरा करना चाहिए। उनके लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित सेवकाई से बाहर की किसी भी बात में संलग्न होने से पहले, उसे बहुत ध्यान से जाँचने-परखने के, उसमें जुड़ने के लिए अच्छे से सुनिश्चित कर लेने के बाद ही आगे बढ़ना चाहिए, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि शैतान कुछ अनुचित करवाने के लिए बहका रहा हो।

इस पद में परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति व्यवहार से संबंधित अन्य बातों को हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे।

Appropriately Handling God’s Word – 3

 

In the last article we have seen the foundational principles of the Apostle Paul’s life and ministry; the principles that he also applied in his handling of God’s Word. From today we will start looking at some specific examples of his handling God’s Word. We will take note of his approach, the precautions he took, and the considerations he kept, etc., when he handled God’s Word. Not just the text and teachings of the Old Testament Scriptures then available to him; but also to the messages that God gave him to be delivered to others for preaching, teaching and writing. In this context, we need to remember a principle that God uses when giving His Word, His message, to be delivered by His messengers. God is very specific; He does not beat around the bush, and gives every person the message, that is related to that person’s ministry, to pass on to others (Romans 12:6-8).

A major part of the New Testament text are the various letters written to the different Churches and to some people. Most of these letters are those which were written by Paul. Unlike a popular misconception, these are not the only letters that were written by the disciples of the Lord, or even by Paul, to the various Churches and people; for sure, there were other inspired writings too. When they were being written, no one knew that eventually some of these letters, no one knew which ones, would be compiled to become a part of the eternal Word of God, forever settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89). But whether written by Paul, or by some other disciple of the Lord Jesus; whether destined to be incorporated into God’s Word or not; all of these letters, that were written under the inspiration and guidance of God the Holy Spirit, were written with the primary intention of teaching sound doctrine and practices of Christian living. They were also written to clarify and rectify the errors that had crept into the Churches and the personal lives of the Christian Believers. Hence, it was incumbent upon the writers of those letters to make sure that whatever they wrote, it was in fact the Word given by God; and not something of their own understanding, imagination, or some fanciful opinion, regarding some issue in the Church or in the life of some Believer.

Paul’s letters to the Church in Corinth, were written to them, to address and provide the remedy for some very gross errors that had crept into that Church and the lives of the members of that Church. In the very first chapter of the first letter to the Corinthians, in context of our topic, Paul puts down the initial principles that we will consider, as we begin to see some of the specific examples. Paul, under the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit writes, “For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect” (1 Corinthians 1:17). Although there is much to expound upon in this verse, but we will keep ourselves confined to our topic – ‘Handling God’s Word’. Paul, here, says three things about his Christ appointed ministry: Firstly, he was not sent to baptize; secondly, he was sent to preach the gospel; and, thirdly, he preached ‘not with wisdom of words’, and the reason for doing so was, ‘lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.’

If we look at the preceding verses of this chapter, from verse 12 to this one, the reason for Paul’s saying this becomes clear. The Corinthian Church had been established by Paul’s ministry of about a year and a half among them (Acts 18:1-11). And now, Paul got to know that many errors had come into the Corinthian Church. Paul begins his handling of the errors that had come into them, by first addressing the problem of the Corinthian congregation getting divided. Factions had come up, and groupism had taken hold, based upon following the Christian leaders working amongst them. For this factionalism, one of the criteria being used was, which Christian leader had baptized them. Paul, straightaway sets this right, strongly denounces and discourages any factionalism and their tendency to follow men rather than the Lord in the Church. 

Paul expressly states to them what the Lord had sent him for, amongst them. Much can be said and understood from this statement of Paul in this verse, regarding the role of baptism in salvation of a person, but that is not our subject. For our subject, what we can see and learn from this first part of 1 Corinthians 1:17 is that those engaged in the ministry of sharing, preaching, teaching the Word of God, should be aware of their God appointed ministry, they should take care of it, and fulfill it. Anything outside of their God given ministry, should diligently be cross checked and confirmed, before proceeding with it, lest Satan be deceiving them into doing something inappropriate.

We will take up the further understanding of handling God’s Word based on this verse in the next article.

Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

अपनी इस श्रृंखला के पिछले लेखों का पुनःअवलोकन ज़ारी रखते हुए, आज हम व्यवस्था के उद्देश्य को थोड़ा और गहराई से समझेंगे। संसार का पहला पाप परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता था; केवल एक बहुत साधारण सी आज्ञा - सारी वाटिका में से केवल एक वृक्ष के फल को मत खाना। और शैतान ने अपनी बातों के द्वारा मनुष्य को उस एक आज्ञा का पालन भी नहीं करने दिया, उसमें भी उसे पाप में गिरा दिया। और वह भी तब, जब अदन की वाटिका में मनुष्य पूर्णतः निर्दोष और निष्पाप अवस्था में, अपनी पूरी आत्मिकता की दशा में था, परमेश्वर के साथ संगति रखता था, निःसंकोच बातचीत करता था।

 

प्रभु द्वारा कही गई दोनों सबसे महान आज्ञाओं के सामने, जो सारी व्यवस्था का आधार हैं (मत्ती 22:36-40), और निर्गमन में दी गई दस आज्ञाओं के सामने जो व्यवस्था का एक संक्षिप्त प्ररूप हैं, आदम और हव्वा को दी गई परमेश्वर की यह एक आज्ञा कुछ भी नहीं है। किन्तु मनुष्य शैतान की युक्तियों के सामने इस एक छोटी सी आज्ञा में भी टिक नहीं पाया, गिर गया, अनाज्ञाकारिता कर दी। तो फिर मनुष्य, जो अपनी सृष्टि और स्वाभाविक रचना में स्‍वर्गदूतों से कम है (इब्रानियों 2:6-7), जिन में से, पाप में गिरने के कारण, शैतान और उसके दूत निकले हैं, वह अपने पाप में गिरने के बाद शैतान और उसके दूतों की कुटिलताओं का सामना कैसे करेगा, जबकि अपने पाप में गिरने से पहले की स्थिति में नहीं कर सका? अब वह कैसे उनके सामने खड़ा रह सकेगा? अब, अपनी सामर्थ्य और बुद्धि से परमेश्वर की संपूर्ण व्यवस्था का पूर्ण पालन कैसे करने पाएगा?

 

और यह केवल कहने की बात नहीं है, सभी के प्रतिदिन के अनुभव की बात है कि शैतान और उसके दूत, सभी मनुष्यों को अपनी युक्तियों और धूर्तता में फँसा कर, प्रतिदिन अनेकों बार, मन-ध्यान-विचार-व्यवहार में पाप में गिराते रहते हैं। और जैसा हम देख चुके हैं, उद्धार पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी भी पाप में गिरने से बचे हुए नहीं है (1 यूहन्ना 1:8, 10); उन्हें भी बारंबार 1 यूहन्ना 1:9 का सहारा लेकर अपने पापों से निकलना पड़ता है। इसलिए यह कभी संभव हो ही नहीं सकता है कि मनुष्य व्यवस्था को अपनी सामर्थ्य से पूरा निभा सके; वह कहीं, किसी बात में या तो अनाज्ञाकारिता करेगा, या उससे कुछ निभाने से छूट ही जाएगा। और जैसा हम देख चुके हैं, व्यवस्था की माँग है कि यदि एक भी बात में चूक हुई, एक भी अनाज्ञाकारिता हुई, तो वह संपूर्ण व्यवस्था से चूकने, संपूर्ण की अनाज्ञाकारिता के समान समझा जाएगा (गलातियों 3:10; याकूब 2:10)।

इन सभी बातों को ध्यान में रखते हुए यह प्रकट है कि व्यवस्था कभी भी, किसी भी रीति से मनुष्यों को उद्धार प्रदान नहीं कर सकती है। व्यवस्था उन्हें उनके पापों को दिखा सकती है, उन्हें उन पापों के लिए दोषी ठहरा सकती है, उन्हें उनके पापों का दण्ड बता सकती है, किन्तु उनके पापों का समाधान प्रदान नहीं कर सकती है। वह समाधान तो केवल उससे होकर आ सकता है जिसनें सिद्धता के साथ व्यवस्था को पूरा किया, और फिर औरों के लिये उसे मार्ग से हटा दिया, अर्थात, प्रभु यीशु मसीह में ही हो सकता है, उसके अतिरिक्त और कोई समाधान नहीं है।

 

यदि व्यवस्था इतनी असमर्थ है, तो आज हमारे मसीही विश्वास और मसीही विश्वास के जीवन में क्या उसकी कोई उपयोगिता है? इस प्रश्न को हम अगले लेख से देखना आरंभ करेंगे। अभी के लिए, यदि अपने आप को किसी भी प्रकार की “व्यवस्था” - वह चाहे परमेश्वर की हो, या आपके धर्म, मत, समुदाय, या डिनॉमिनेशन की हो - के पालन के द्वारा धर्मी बनाने के, और अपने शरीर के कार्यों के द्वारा अपने आप को परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बनाने के प्रयासों में लगे हैं; तो ध्यान देकर समझ लीजिए कि परमेश्वर का वचन स्पष्ट बताता है कि किसी भी व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा नहीं, वरन, परमेश्वर के दिए हुए पश्चाताप और समर्पण करके प्रभु यीशु को उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने के मार्ग का पालन करने के द्वारा ही आप परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी और उसे स्वीकार्य बन सकते हैं। अभी समय और अवसर रहते सही मार्ग अपना लें, और धर्म का पालन तथा भले काम करने के व्यर्थ तथा निष्फल मार्ग को छोड़ दें।

   

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Continuing with our review of the previous articles of this series, today we will try to understand the purpose of the Law a little more deeply. The world's first sin was disobedience to God; disobedience of just one very simple commandment - don't eat the fruit of only one tree out of the whole garden. And Satan, through his deviousness, tricked man into disobeying even that one simple commandment, made him fall into sin. And that too, when in the Garden of Eden man was in a pure, innocent, and sinless state, was in unmarred spirituality, was fellowshipping with God, and talking freely with Him.

In comparison to the two greatest commandments, which are the basis of the whole Law), as stated by the Lord (Matthew 22:36-40, and in comparison to the Ten Commandments given by God in Exodus, which are a brief outline of God’s Law, this one simple commandment that God gave Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden is nothing. But man could not stand up to Satan's tricks even in this one small command, fell in disobedience, and sinned. How then can man be able to stand up to, and face the deviousness of Satan and his angels, since in his creation he is inferior in power and wisdom to the angels (Hebrews 2:6-7), from whom Satan and his angels have come, due to their falling in sin? If even before his fall into sin, man could not obey one simple straightforward Law; then after his fall into sin, how will he be able to fully obey God's entire Law in his natural power and wisdom, that he has been created in?

 

And this is not just a matter of saying, it is a matter of everyday experience for all of us. We well know how Satan and his angels, by enticing all human beings through their ploys and cunningness, makes them sin through wrongs committed in mind-thoughts-deeds-behavior, many times every day. And as we have seen, even the saved Christians are not safe from falling into sin (1 John 1:8, 10); they too have to repeatedly be delivered from their sins by resorting to 1 John 1:9. So, there is no way man can ever fulfill the Law without falling short or disobeying it in any way. And, as we have seen, to disobey one thing of the Law, is the same as having disobeyed the whole Law (Galatians 3:10; James 2:10). Hence man can never stand justified by the Law, because Satan will make sure he falls into disobedience in one way or another, at some time or the other.

 

With all this in mind, it is apparent that the Law can never, in any way, provide salvation to humans. The law can show them their sins, can condemn them for those sins, can show them the punishment for their sin, but cannot provide a solution for their sins. That solution can only come from the one who has perfectly fulfilled the Law in its entirety, and then taken it away for others; i.e., the Lord Jesus Christ, except for Him, there is no other solution.

 

If the law is so incapable, is it of any use in our Christian faith and Christian life today? We will start looking at this question from the article onwards. For now, if you are hoping to justify yourself by observing any sort of "law" — whether that of God, or of your religion, creed, community, or denomination — and are trying to make yourself acceptable to God by being ‘good’ through the works of the flesh; then pay heed and understand that God's Word clearly states that you become righteous and acceptable to God, not by keeping the Law, but only by following the God given path of repentance and submission to the Lord and accepting the Lord Jesus as your savior. Therefore, while you have the time and the opportunity, take the right decision, decide on the right path, and leave the vain and fruitless path of following a religion and doing good works.

पिछले कुछ समय से, लेखों की इस शृंखला “परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था हमें क्यों उद्धार नहीं दे सकती है” में हम परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से, व्यवस्था और उद्धार से संबंधित विभिन्न बातों को देखते और उनका विश्लेषण करते हुए आ रहे हैं। इस आम धारणा की सच्चाई परखने के लिए कि भला मनुष्य ही परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो सकता है, इसलिए मनुष्य को भला बनना चाहिए, हमने शृंखला का आरंभ यह देखने के साथ किया था कि भला क्या है, भला कौन है? हमने देखा कि कि बाइबल के अनुसार भला होने और भलाई की परिभाषा, मनुष्य और संसार नहीं, केवल परमेश्वर ही निर्धारित करता है; और जो परमेश्वर के अनुसार भला है, परमेश्वर को केवल वही स्वीकार्य भी है। और उसने इससे संबंधित अपनी मनसा अपने वचन बाइबल में बता दी है। साथ ही हमने देखा था कि वास्तव में भला केवल परमेश्वर है (मरकुस 10:18); और मनुष्य अपने किसी भी प्रयास से भला और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो ही नहीं सकता है (यशायाह 64:6; अय्यूब 14:4; 15:14; 25:4)। किन्तु हमने यह भी देखा है कि परमेश्वर दुष्ट के नाश से भी प्रसन्न नहीं होता है, बल्कि चाहता है कि वह पश्चाताप कर ले (यहेजकेल 33:11)। इसलिये परमेश्वर मनुष्य को उसकी स्वाभाविक पापी दशा में ही, जैसा भी वो है, चाहे उसके पाप कितने भी अधिक हों कितने भी घोर और जघन्य क्यों न हों, स्वीकार करने, और उसे स्वयं पापों से शुद्ध करने, अपने राज्य में प्रवेश देने, अपनी संगति में बहाल करने के लिए सर्वदा तैयार है, यदि वह मनुष्य उसके पास पापों के लिए पश्चाताप और परमेश्वर के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण एवं आज्ञाकारिता के साथ आता है (1 यूहन्ना 1:9)। परमेश्वर हर किसी को अपने राज्य में प्रवेश देने, अपने साथ संगति में बहाल करने के लिए तैयार है, किन्तु इसके लिए मनुष्य को अपनी नहीं वरन परमेश्वर की शर्तों के साथ आना होगा।

हमने यह भी देखा था कि व्यवस्था का पालन करने का अर्थ रीतियों, त्यौहारों, भेंट-बलिदानों आदि का परमेश्वर को चढ़ाना नहीं है। वरन व्यवस्था का पालन करने का अर्थ है परमेश्वर से सच्चा प्रेम करना, उसके प्रति पूर्णतः समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी रहना, और अन्य मनुष्यों से भी अपने समान ही प्रेम करना (मत्ती 22:35-40)। हमने संसार के इतिहास का एक बहुत संक्षिप्त अवलोकन करने के द्वारा समझा था कि चाहे स्वाभाविक, अपरिवर्तित, उद्धार नहीं पाया हुआ मनुष्य हो, जो अपनी ही बनाई हुई नैतिकता और धार्मिकता की बातों का पालन करता है; या परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था और नैतिकता एवं धार्मिकता की जानकारी रखने वाले, और परमेश्वर के नबियों की अगुवाई प्राप्त करने वाले परमेश्वर के चुने हुए लोग हों; दोनों में से कोई भी परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नैतिकता और धार्मिकता के स्तर तक नहीं पहुँच सका है। जिनके पास परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था थी, वो भी उसका पालन करने में असमर्थ रहे हैं (प्रेरितों 15:10), और अन्ततः उन लोगों के समान ही परमेश्वर को अस्वीकार्य रहे हैं, जिनके पास परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था नहीं थी। 

फिर हमने व्यवस्था पालन के लिए मनुष्य की इस दुर्बलता को देखना आरंभ किया, और समझा था कि मनुष्य अपनी सृष्टि से ही स्‍वर्गदूतों कम स्तर का है (इब्रानियों 2:6-9)। साथ ही, पाप में गिरने और उसके अन्य अनुयायी स्‍वर्गदूतों के साथ स्वर्ग से निकाले जाने से पहले शैतान सर्वोच्च स्वर्गदूत था। क्योंकि परमेश्वर अपने दिए हुए अधिकार और वरदान किसी से वापस नहीं लेता है (रोमियों 1:29), इसलिए आज भी शैतान और उसके दूत, मनुष्य से अधिक सामर्थी और बुद्धिमान हैं। इसीलिए वे मनुष्यों को अपनी कुटिलता में फँसा कर पाप में गिरा देते हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3, 13-15)। किन्तु जो मनुष्य परमेश्वर को समर्पित होकर, परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में, उसके वचन और उसकी विधि के अनुसार शैतान का सामना करता है, वह शैतान पर और उसकी युक्तियों पर परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य के द्वारा जयवन्त भी होता है। और क्योंकि शैतान ने कुटिलता से, धोखे से मनुष्यों को पाप में गिराया है, इसीलिए परमेश्वर ने, जो ईमानदार, खरा, और सच्चा न्यायी है, कभी पक्षपात नहीं करता है, उसी ने सभी मनुष्यों को पापों से पश्चाताप करने की आज्ञा दी है (प्रेरितों 17:30), जिससे परमेश्वर के साथ उनके संबंध बहाल हो जाएं; क्योंकि वह जानता है कि मनुष्य किसी भी “व्यवस्था” के पालन से, वह “व्यवस्था” चाहे परमेश्वर की दी हुई हो, या मनुष्यों की बनाई हुई हो, पापों से छुटकारा नहीं पा सकता है। यह छुटकारा केवल प्रभु यीशु मसीह के द्वारा दिए गए बलिदान, उसके काम से ही संभव है। इसीलिए वह सभी को समान अवसर और आज्ञा देकर पापों के दण्ड से बचने का पूरा अवसर दे रहा है। 

फिर हमने व्यवस्था के उद्देश्य, उसकी सीमाओं को भी देखा था, और समझा था कि व्यवस्था मनुष्य को पाप की पहचान करवा सकती है; उसे पाप करने का दोषी ठहरा सकती है; किन्तु पाप से बचने का मार्ग नहीं दे सकती है, और न ही पाप करने से रोक सकती है (रोमियों 3:20-22)। हमने यह भी देखा था कि व्यवस्था परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया उसकी धार्मिकता को समझने का एक पैमाना है, जिसके समक्ष हर बात को लाकर मनुष्य देख और समझ सकता है कि उस बात में वह परमेश्वर की धार्मिकता के स्तर के अनुसार कहाँ खड़ा है, उसकी अपनी धार्मिकता का स्तर क्या है। व्यवस्था पाप और धार्मिकता की पहचान करने के लिए है, पाप का समाधान करने और धर्मी बनाने के लिए नहीं। हमारे पापों का समाधान और हमें धर्मी बनाना तो पापों से पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु यीशु मसीह में लाए गए विश्वास और उसे उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने से है, अन्य किसी प्रकार से नहीं। अगले लेख में हम अपने इस पुनःअवलोकन एवं निष्कर्ष को ज़ारी रखेंगे।

For the past some time, in this series on "Why God's Law Can't Save Us", we've been looking at and analyzing various aspects of the Law and salvation, from God’s Word the Bible. To check and verify the truth of the common belief, that since only good persons can be acceptable to God, therefore, man must be good, we began this series by looking at what is good, who is good? We saw that according to the Bible, the definition of good and of being good is only given by God, not by any person nor by the world. And only that which is good according to God, is what is acceptable to Him. And, God has given His criteria about this in His Word, the Bible. We also saw that it is only God who actually is good (Mark 10:18). Man can never be good and acceptable to God through any of his efforts (Isaiah 64:6; Job 14:4; 15:14; 25:4). But we have also seen that God is not pleased with the death of even the wicked, rather wants him to repent (Ezekiel 33:11). Therefore, God is ever willing to accept man, even in his natural sinful state, just as he is, no matter how many and how heinous his sins may be. God is willing to accept, and cleanse the natural man, who comes to Him in repentance of his sins, and with full submission and obedience towards Him (1 John 1:9). God is willing to give everyone an entry into His kingdom, to be restored to fellowship with, but only on God’s terms and conditions, not man’s.

We have also seen that keeping the Law does not mean fulfilling rituals, observing and celebrating festivals, giving offerings to God, etc. Rather, to obey the Law means to truly love God, to be completely devoted and obedient to Him, and to similarly to love other human beings as oneself (Matthew 22:35-40). We understood by taking a very brief look at the history of the world that whether a natural, unregenerate, unsaved man, who follows the morality and righteousness of man’s own making; or whether God's chosen people, having the knowledge of God's Law and His morality and righteousness, and being led by God's prophets; neither of them could reach the level of morality and righteousness acceptable to God. Those who had God's Law were unable to keep it (Acts 15:10), and ultimately were as unacceptable to God as those who did not have God's law.

Then we began to look at the reasons for man's weakness to keep God’s Law. We saw that man, from his creation itself, is inferior to the angels (Hebrews 2:6-9). Satan was the supreme angel before he fell into sin and was cast out of heaven along with other angels following him. Because God does not take away from anyone the authority and gifts He has given (Romans 11:29), Satan and his demons are still more powerful and wiser than man. That is why they easily entrap human beings by their deviousness and make them fall into sin (2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15). But the man who, in submission to God, in obedience to God, confronts Satan according to God’s Word and His method, can overcome Satan and his ploys through the power of God. And because Satan has made men commit sin deceitfully, through his deviousness, therefore God, who is honest, upright, and true Judge, is impartial, commands all men to repent of their sins (Acts 17:30) so that their relationship with God gets restored; since God knows that man cannot be redeemed of his sins by observing any "law", whether that "law" is given by God, or made by men. This redemption is possible only through the work of the sacrifice made by the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why he is giving equal opportunity and the command to all, to escape from the punishment of sins. In the next article, we will continue with our review and conclusion.

Then we also looked at the purpose of the Law, and its limitations; and understood that the Law can help man to recognize sin; can convict him of sinning; but it cannot give man a way to escape from sin, nor can it prevent him from committing sin (Romans 3:20-22). We also saw that the Law is a measure of God's standard of righteousness. By bringing everything before it for comparison, man can see and understand where he stands according to the standard of God's righteousness, what is the level of his morality? The Law is meant to identify sin and righteousness, not to remedy and solve the problem of sin. The solution of our sins and the way to make us righteous is only by repenting of our sins and by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, accepting Him as Savior; there is no other way.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
